The great thing about being an Adult is that if you randomly get Extremely Overwhelmed by Existence, no one can stop you from going into your closet in your bedroom with your laptop, changing into a onesie, and sitting in the dark quiet enclosed space all by yourself (even though you're the only one here because your spouse isn't home from work yet).

Been doing some blogwork and setup and such for my Genshin multimuse, but now that that’s all set up and I can settle into things, I’m over here wondering if I should just move Shayan over here to Sera’s blog as a side muse, since Kunsel’s getting moved over to the multi to join Cissnei and Shiva- Gonna debate it for a day or so methinks, especially since it might help Shayan (and a couple surprise extra extra side muses related to him and Sera) be a little more active.... Hmmm-
Also hi I promise I’m still here just been going through a bad mental space lull and lots of Genpact brainrot <3

please ignore me - I'm just feeling sorry for myself (sad rambles)
I don't want to get fully into specifics, but I'm just having a really bad mental health day today. Or I guess, the entire week/weekend. It feels like I've lost all motivation to really do anything. I need to acknowledge this feeling because I've been in this depressive state many times before and have either denied it or didn't try anything to combat it. It's just a little frustrating because I thought my meds were sorted out mostly for the first time in forever (but I guess maybe not). I'm not feeling myself right now, but hopefully, this week will be a little better ♡

Boyfriend Minho and brat taming headcanons
Tumblr media
Thinking about boyfriend!Minho who pins you down after you mouth off, grinding against you to remind you who's in charge.
Boyfriend!Minho who bends you over and delivers stinging swats to your bare ass when you won't stop sassing him.
Boyfriend!Minho who shoves you to your knees, demanding you put that smart mouth to better use as "punishment."
Boyfriend!Minho who teases and denies you release until you're a whimpering, obedient mess begging for mercy.
Boyfriend!Minho who revels in making you scream and cry out from the overwhelming mix of pain and pleasure.
Boyfriend!Minho who leaves marks of possession all over your body when the brat attitude rears its head.
Boyfriend!Minho who fucks the defiance right out of you, reducing you to a shuddering, overstimulated wreck.
Boyfriend!Minho who knows just how to take you apart with his hands, mouth, and thick cock until you learn your lesson.
Boyfriend!Minho who makes you count the strokes and beg for more until your voice is hoarse from shouting his name.
Boyfriend!Minho who has no qualms about putting you in your place, pinning you down and taking what he wants.
Boyfriend!Minho who ensures you can't walk straight for days after one of your brattier than usual outbursts.
Boyfriend!Minho who leaves you utterly spent and boneless, overwhelmed by the intensity of his "corrections."
Boyfriend!Minho who secretly adores provoking those feisty hijinks, knowing he gets to eventually dole out sweet punishment.
A.N: sorry for the lack of updates lately but i've been super busy TT. Also imma need Minho to rearrange my insides thank u.

So we're all just supposed to be fucking grateful that Larian gave us "new Wyll content" (evil ending for a man who is canonically incorruptible, what the fuck) and simultaneously broke him again (giving low approval greetings to a romanced PC, what the fuck).
I... I just... the simultaneous feelings of rage and utter hopelessness are overwhelming.
Listen, if you've read any of my posts you know I have a pretty clear "Don't yuck anyone's yum" policy. If you think an evil Wyll ending is interesting, fine. But here's why it falls flat for me.
First, like I said above, Wyll is canonically incorruptible. It's literally the entire basis of his character. He is a man who was coerced into making an infernal contract to save a city and had to pay a horrible price for doing so, then spent seven fucking years alone in the wilderness doing his damned best to protect the people of the Sword Coast, while all along telling his horrible, abusive patron to just fuck off already.
Now, could you argue that during the events of the game, Wyll develops a taste for evil? Sure. There are plenty of opportunities for his villain origin story to unfold. But they never do. His moral compass never wavers. Turned into a devil? He feels shame, because it's an outward sign that he was doing things for Mizora that were morally wrong, and he didn't see it before. His approval rating for the PC shoots through the roof if you save Karlach, a sure indicator of his true moral compass. His father kidnapped? Fuck that noise, we're gonna save him. Rescue Zariel's "asset"? Ugh, fine, but don't get distracted from the real reason we're here. His father gets tadpoled? Oh hells no, we're gonna take down these assholes and save the godsdamned world. His father accuses him of being an agent of a devil and is super pissy about it? "Everything I did, I did for the people of the Sword Coast."
For fuck's sake, he will leave the party if the PC gets too evil, even knowing it means he'll probably turn into a mindflayer immediately. Even if he's romancing the PC. Unwavering moral compass. So giving him an evil ending without also going back and changing everything about his character just feels like lazy writing to me.
Which brings me to the second reason all of this rubs the wrong way. Wyll deserves so much more content. More romanced greetings, more reactions to other characters' choices, a final boss battle that is actually about him, a default ending that actually makes fucking sense (I have another post cooking about the Avernus ending, so I will leave it for now.)
And please, spare me your "But Wyll was rewritten after early access" bullshit. That's Larian's problem. They chose to listen to feedback and do a late-stage rewrite. They then chose to implement it poorly and never fucking fix it. Other characters, who already have far more content than Wyll, have had even more added over the course of the seven released patches. Wyll, on the other hand, has been sitting around completely ignored until now when we get this evil ending.
Many have rightfully pointed out the inherent racism steeped in all of this. I want Larian to be better. But as Maya Angelou said, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." I already didn't have much hope about Patch 7 for Wyll, but this... honestly, this is worse than him just being ignored again.
The thing that kills me the most is that this is just going to be more fodder for the fandom to completely mischaracterize Wyll, for those who already haven't bothered to think critically about his character at all to just be like, oh, cool, Wyll is evil now. Nope. You've completely missed the point.
I'm just... so tired. I've worked very hard to put this little bubble of Wyll enthusiasts around me (hi friends I love you all!) so that I can hold on to some shred of sanity in this fandom. The world needs heroes of color. Just let Wyll be the hero in peace.

main masterlist !
you were having a tough day.
it all started when you realized you were running late for work and you had spilled coffee on your shirt, making you change into another before you left. your car wouldn't start, leaving you late for your first meeting.
as the day went on, it seemed like every minuscule thing opposed you. your phone died in the middle of an important call, and you received multiple emails from coworkers with urgent requests.
but just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, your boss took the time to reprimand you for your performance, adding to your stress and frustration.
the traffic was dreadful, adding to your stress and making you late for your lunch appointment.
and to top it all off, the weather turned bad and your clothes got ruined, worsening your already bad mood.
by the time you reached home, you were feeling fed up and exhausted, the weight of the day's events bearing down on you.
all you wanted was a hot shower and a good night's sleep, you didn't even have the energy to change into your sleep clothes.
as you crawled into bed, feeling utterly spent and frustrated, you couldn't help but feel that the universe was conspiring against you today.
you heard the front door click open and shut, indicating that your boyfriend that just got home.
he found you in the bedroom where you had sat up to greet him.
with a hasty kiss on your forehead, he immediately asked if dinner was ready. he had been working late and was clearly eager to get something to eat.
you felt instantly overwhelmed, the added pressure of having to cook for your boyfriend after a bad day was too much to bare.
you felt your frustration and anger welling up inside you, the exhaustion and stress of the day reaching a snapping point.
with a quick breath, you snapped at your boyfriend, lashing out at him, "seriously? after the day I've had, you're going to come home and ask me to cook?"
poor thing. he mouthed cluelessly like a goldfish under the water, "i thought you said you were gonna make dinner tonight so-"
"so?!" you seethed, clenching your fists at your side, "so what? do you even care how my day went?"
"of course i care. i just-"
"no, you clearly don't! i've had a terrible day, and the last thing i want to do is cook dinner for you!"
he raised his hands at his sides, speaking cautiously, "i didn't mean to upset you, i just wanted to know if we were going to eat-"
"well, you did upset me! and the answer is no! i'm not cooking dinner, i'm too tired and sick with everything that's happened today!"
you ducked your face away from your boyfriend, covering it with your trembling hands. your shoulders shook as you tried to suppress the tears of frustration and exhaustion that threatened to fall.
your boyfriend was clearly taken aback by your burst of emotions, his own expression turning from surprise to concern.
"i'm sorry," you whimpered, pressing the heels of your palms to your teary eyes, "please go," you muttered, your voice thick with emotion. "just leave me alone. i'm not in the mood to talk right now,"
"baby," he said, his voice gentle as he approached you, "i didn't mean to-"
"just stop, okay?" you cut him off, your voice wavering as you spoke, "I don't want to talk about it, I just want to be alone for a while. please," you added desperately.
your boyfriend hesitated, his heart tugging when he heard your voice crack. he saw the pain and frustration etched onto your face and knew that he had unintentionally added to your already bad mood.
the room fell silent, the only sound being your ragged breathing as you struggled to keep your emotions in check.
your boyfriend finally broke the silence, his voice soft as he spoke, "i'm sorry. i didn't mean to make things worse,"
you shook your head, your own guilt and remorse bubbling up inside you, "no, i'm the one who's sorry," you said, hiccuping a bit, "i shouldn't have taken my bad mood out on you, you didn't deserve it."
your boyfriend stepped closer, gently wrapping his arms around you. he pulled you into a firm embrace, holding you close as he comforted you, "shh, shh, darling," he murmured into your hair, "it's okay, let it out."
he kissed your forehead, his lips lingering softly on your skin. he moved to your cheeks, kissing them gently as he continues to hold you,
you pulled back with a gasp, shaking your head in a sob. but he kept sneaking kisses to your mouth, trying to soothe your distress.
you fisted the material of his shirt, your chest heaving, "i'm so sorry," he kissed your lips once, "i shouldn't have," he kissed you again, "i don't what got into me,"
your boyfriend continued to make soft shushing noises, his hand gently stroking your back as he tried to calm you down.
"shhh, it's alright," he soothed, his voice warm and comforting. "you don't have to worry about anything right now. just focus on us. i'm here for you,"
he continued to whisper reassurances, his embrace strong and supportive as he held you close.
"i'm not going anywhere, i promise," he murmured, his voice soft and calm, "no matter what, i'm always going to be here for you, okay?"
he continued to shower you with gentle touches, his hand caressing your head, cheeks, and neck, while his lips brushed against your face, spreading kisses. his shushing noises continued, the sound a comforting presence in your ear.
tears continued to flow from your eyes as you soaked in his comfort and affection, feeling the weight of your bad day slowly lift from your shoulders.
"i'm sorry. i'm so so sorry," you buried your face into his muscular chest, your tears staining his shirt.
"shhhh," he hushed, his voice soft and consoling, "it's okay, honey, I know you're sorry. I'm not mad at you, i never was. i can never be mad at you,"
you pressed your face into his chest, "nono," you shook your head, "you should be. you didn't mean any harm. why aren't you mad at me?" you rested your chin on his chest, blinking up at him.
"you were having a rough day, and you didn't mean to snap at me. i understand that," he smooched you between your eyebrows, "because I love you," he said simply, "i know that you didn't mean to lash out at me, you were just stressed out,"
his grip on you tightened slightly, his fingers rubbing circles on your back.
"no, baby," you dragged the word, still not able to comprehend that he wasn't mad at your attitude.
"yes, sweetheart," he replied, his voice firm but gentle, "i do love you, and i'm not going to get mad at you for having a bad day,"
he tilted your chin up, forcing you to look at him. his eyes were soft and full of love as he held your gaze.
"but," he continued, his tone firm yet caring, "you need to promise me one thing, okay? promise me that you'll tell me when you're feeling stressed or upset, so i can be here for you."
your sobs had subsided as you looked up at him with glazed eyes, tears clinging to your lash line. your lips in a pouty whimper you nodded, chin nudging against his chest, "i promise,"
"mm, that's my good girl," he murmured, his eyes softening as he watched your pouty expression.
he gently traced your bottom lip with his thumb, his touch tender and soft. "i just want to be there for you, sweetheart. you don't have to carry your burdens alone."
"m'kay,"
he noticed the slight quiver in your lips and the way your pout trembled. it was clear to him just how emotional you were feeling in that moment.
he couldn't help but slot his lips against your pout, kissing away your tears.
he pulled you closer, bringing you into his embrace once more, wrapping his arms around you protectively.
"thank you," you rested your cheek on him, nuzzling into the crook of his neck.
"'s alright, sweetheart," he murmured, his voice soft as he held you against him.
he gently stroked your back, "remember, I'm always here for you, no matter what. and i'll always love you, no matter how many bad days you have,"
he began to rock gently from one foot to the other, swaying back and forth in a pacifying motion. his head was resting on top of yours, his chin nestled against your hair.
the repetitive motion of his gentle swaying was calming, and the warmth of his embrace was comforting.
he could feel you relax in his arms as you closed your eyes, your body molding against his. he continued to rock gently, his body moving in a slow, benign rhythm.
"that's it," he whispered, his voice low and gentle in your ear, "i've got you. i'm right here,"
he could feel the tension gradually leaving your body as you surrendered to his embrace, letting go of the stress and frustration of the day's events.
you pulled back to look at him, your arms wound around his middle, "what about dinner though?"
he chuckled softly, the vibration of his rumbling through his chest. he pulled back slightly, his hands still gently holding your shoulders as he looked down at you with a gentle smile, "you focus on taking some deep breaths and unwinding, okay? i'll take care of dinner."
"stay for a bit," you tensed your arms around him, tightening your grip, eyes pleading, "please?"
he sat on the edge of the bed, pulling you on top of him in such a way that your body was slung across his lap, "then tell me about your day," he gazed up at you in adoration, "'cause i'm here to listen. and i mean, tell me everything,"

mint
pairing: mike schmidt x blackfem!reader summary: you’re abby’s mint chocolate-loving babysitter. mike takes notice. wc: 1.3k tags: suggestiveness, swearing, fluff. *minor movie spoiler that isn’t a spoiler fr but kind of is* a/n: oi. this is my first official piece of fanfic on tumblr and i'm excited but also super nervous. i never knew what characters i wanted to write for as most of my fandoms are obsolete tbh (teen wolf and maze runner, i'm looking at you 💔) but after watching the fnaf movie and falling in love with j hutch like i'm 14 again, i wanted to try to write for mike!  i'm sorry if this story sucks tbh. i wrote it pretty quickly, did not edit it in any way (watch for grammar and spelling errors!) and i'm still trying to establish characters and plot and do all this silly billy worldbuilding, but i'll get better! i'm also taking requests for both fluff and smut, so if y'all would like to send anything for me to write, i'll def accept! like i said in my last post, i think i'm gonna redo my tumblr layout so i can feel like a true fanfic/misc blog lmao so ignore its under construction phase ((: i hope y'all enjoy this though bc i've been thinking ab mike schmidt all night
i have sooo many ideas, but between last night and this morning, i’ve been thinking of abby’s babysitter!reader (bc fuck max).
you’ve been channel surfing in the living room since you put abby down, working with her to lock down a nightly routine. ideally, she’d bathe, eat dinner (god willingly), brush her teeth, and then you’d be able to get her to lay in bed and doze off. some nights, this required dessert.
“you just brushed your teeth though. it’s gonna taste gross.”
“not if it’s one of those mint chocolate things you always have.” you straighten up, eyes squinted at the child before you; she meant the small, sometimes melted, squares of Andes mint chocolate you always kept. they’d always been your favorite, a guilty pleasure in this fucked up world.
you hadn’t been babysitting abby for long, and you didn’t realize that she'd been watching you crush the chocolates like it was light work. they were easy to eat, and once you had one, you found out how easy it was to eat another one, and then another one, and then another one until there was a mountain of crinkled foil next to your phone and chocolate smeared on your face.
"please, y/n. just one," you didn't exactly know if it was a lie. abby was convincing, able to break you down with her eyes, pleading and puppy-dog like. "please."
you cave, leaning down to brush her hair back from her forehead and place a gentle kiss on the skin. with pursed lips, you whisper, "fine, but tomorrow night. i have to get some more."
abby does nothing but smile, eyes fluttering closed. you stay with her for a bit like you always do--watching the way her chest rises and falls, and how her features twitched with slumber. features scarily similar to mike's.
of course she'd look like mike. they were siblings, no shit, but the resemblance occupied your brain. there was sweet abby, with her colorful clothes and scribbled drawings and persuasive aura, and then there was mike.
you shake your head, giving abby another kiss before exiting her room. you didn't need to think about mike. he wasn't what you were here for. you'd come to abby's school as an aide and after she'd privately confided in you about her home life, you knew you had to help her. you would do anything for her, even if that meant taking care of her while suppressing the overwhelming school girl crush you had on her older brother.
mike was a bit older than you, which didn't scare you at all. guys in their early 20s were rarely mature, doing anything they could just to fuck; but guys in their late 20s, mike specifically, had only ever shown you couth, surprisingly.
for nearly two months, five mornings a week, the sound of the door being unlocked would ring out. you'd turn to see sunshine pouring into the living room, enveloping mike's brooding figure in a radiant golden glow.
he'd hang his coat on the wall hooks, drop his bag down to his feet, and give you a small but warm smile. you'd try to not to embarrass yourself as you two made small talk, packing up your things.
you always left unscathed, but recently it'd been hard. you were always thinking about him, dreaming about him even; how his hair would feel between your fingers, how his hands would feel on your face, how his face would feel between your thighs.
the thought is washed away, drowned out by the sound effects of a loud infomercial when the door opens, and you're turning and squinting against the wash of pale yellow on your face. mike steps forward with a, "hey, y/n" and you meekly raise your hand to wave.
he hangs his hoodie up to reveal his shoulder blades flexing under an uncharacteristically tight navy blue sweater. you can't help but stare.
"just wake up?" his voice is raspy, but he's still facing the wall, rummaging in his bag for something.
"um...yeah. brain's still turning on," you lie, tossing the thick blue blanket off your body. you didn't sleep at all, kept up with your thoughts and the last of your Andes mints (though you loved her, you couldn't give abby your last ones).
"hm," he mutters, finally turning to you but keeping his hands behind his back. something crinkles in them and you raise your eyebrow at the tired yet amused expression he takes with you. it's enough to make your body hot and you awkwardly pull at the collar of your shirt, fanning yourself off.
"hot?" the gravelly tone sends you into a giggling fit, shaking your head as you shoot to your feet. you have to leave before you do or say something you regret.
"uh, yeah, it was s-super hot under that...um...blanket. i shouldn't have worn sweatpants to s-sleep," you stutter, nodding your head along with mike as he steps closer to you. this couldn't be the moment something happens, right? it'd been so casual between you too, very friendly, and he'd never shown any signs of trying to do anything with you before. why would he choose right now, so spontaneously?
he stands before you, the slightest bit taller than you. you're able to see every pore, every freckle, every microscopic detail in his eyes and lips.
you open your mouth, hoping your heart doesn't fall out, to ask what's happening, when he reveals a bag of Andes mints, one bigger than you've ever seen.
your mouth stays open in surprise. "wh-"
"abby's been talking about them. i wondered where she found out about them but--" he nudges his head towards the coffee table, where a small mound of green wrappers lay. you swear under your breath, cursing yourself for not throwing them away like you usually do.
"i'm sorry," you whisper, blushing beyond measure as you begin to frantically pack your things. "i should be more careful with that stuff."
"god, y/n, you're saying it like it's coke," mike chuckles. he sets the bag down on the couch and reaches out to you, placing his hand on yours as you shove things into your tote. "hey."
his voice forces you to stop and look up. you melt under his stare just like you do with abby. the puppy-dog thing must run in the family.
"i feel bad about not being able to pay you yet, and i really appreciate all you're doing. abby told me that you loved those mints, so..."
"thank you, mike," you say over the sound of your pounding heart. you didn't care about the money, you didn't need it. being appreciated by someone who made your heartbeat resonate throughout your body was payment enough. "this is really sweet."
"thank you, y/n. you don't know how much this means to me." You scoff, throwing your tote over your shoulder and looking down at your feet.
"i'm always happy to help." you and mike stand facing each other for what feels like hours, the air as thick as molasses between you. his eyes were squinted, low and dark and intriguing.
you wished you could read his mind. what was he thinking? did his heart do the same thing as yours, wacking against his ribcage with no end in sight? did he stay up thinking about you when he was supposed to be sleeping, imagining how you felt, what you sounded like, how you tasted---
"see you later tonight?" his voice rocks you out of your trance. he's not thinking about you. he's tired, wondering when you'll leave so he can fall into his bed and doze off.
"yeah. tell abby i said i'll see her tonight." your smile is tight as you exit the house, cursing at yourself as you get into your car.
you didn't know how long you could go on like this.
ya, i know this sucks and it isn't really anything but we're gonna work our way through these fics and blurbs to really develop a cute relationship (,: i will still be writing other fics for mike, and possibly using another babysitter!reader in a different universe, but as for now, we're gonna be rocking with these two (: (thinking that we’ll label her as 🌱🍫!reader)  all notes are appreciated (: thanks for reading!

Girlies End
Previous Chapters: One Two Three Choose Another Ending
Jamil's phone had been non stop ringing for the past ten minutes. Which was unfortunate, because he was trying to take notes for Kalim, who would definitely forget everything the cat was telling them.
"Our next step will be to have you slowly work your way into Y/N and my daily routine," Grim pointed a yardstick at step three on the whiteboard he was standing in front of. "Recommendations include, offering to buy my tuna, buying me regular gifts, purchasing necessities we need around Ramshackle, like a new deluxe mattress, or deluxe slippers, or carpeting so that I don't need the slippers. Really, you can just use your imagination here."
"What about a new diamond choker, that's super shiny, so Y/N always knows where you are?" Kalim asked excitedly.
"That's brilliant! It's ideas like that that prove you're the perfect match for Y/N!"
Jamil would normally have been livid. But he knew that someone like you would quickly see that Kalim wasn't as complex an individual as you needed. And he would be right there for you to fall for…
And if not…well…he'd gotten quite good at controlling his signature spell. He couldn't say he hadn't warned Grim. He was practically begging him to do it at this point!
"Will you please deal with that buzzing? Kalim and I can't think!" Grim suddenly shouted at Jamil, as his phone rang for the umpteenth time.
He scowled, before muttering a "be right back" and answering the phone in the hallway.
"What?" He snapped.
He quickly apologized upon hearing his mother's voice.
"I was just wondering if Najma was settling in all right?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Jamil asked, completely confused.
"Well, she said you had a guest room all set for her, but I just wanted to make sure she was comfy, and that you were both behaving."
"Wait, Najma is here?" Jamil had a terrible, horrible, feeling in his gut that he knew where she was.
"She said she saw you-"
"You're right mom, sorry, I've been overwhelmed lately and just got confused for a moment." It was a terrible excuse, he just had to hope his mother would accept it.
"Alright, just make sure you get some rest. Tell Najma I love her, and to be good!"
He breathed a sigh of relief as she hung up the phone. Then he made a beeline to Ramshackle.
The door was cracked when he got there, so he just walked right in. And the first thing he saw was Najma making out with you, heavily, on the couch.
He cleared his throat, and Najma looked up, startled, before bursting into laughter. Confused, you looked up and covered your face with your hands.
He watched as you looked flustered, and mumbled nonsense as though trying to explain yourself. Najma just looked smug.
"Sup buttface?" she said.
"Jamil, I can explain!" You said.
"Nah, he knows now, babe, might as well tell him," Najma said, gently caressing your cheek. She turned back to Jamil.
"Y/N and I have been dating ever since they came to visit a couple months ago. We didn't tell you cause we knew you'd flip out."
"I-gah-I'm not flipping out! But why would you do this?!?!?"
You shrunk deeper into the couch, looking at Najma like she would protect you from Jamil's yelling. Najma continued to look smug, even in the face of danger.
"You're totally flipping out. But it's cool. I know it's cause you're jealous that I landed a hottie like Y/N, and you're gonna die miserable and alone."
Jamil frustratedly ran his hands through his hair.
"Najma…Y/N…gah! Y/N, you like girls?"
"Yes," you whispered.
"Yeah, Y/N likes girls, now get out of here so I can keep making out with my partner," Najma didn't even wait for him to react, she just grabbed your face and resumed kissing you.
"Najma-"
"Y/N, tell Jamil to stop being a little freak, so I can keep kissing you," Najma said poutily against your neck.
You opened your mouth to respond, but Jamil cut you off.
"I'm leaving! Sevens, if mom asks me if I've seen you though, I'm ratting you out."
Najma flipped him off as he left.
Once he exited the building, he leaned against the outer wall and groaned. Leave it to his sister to ruin everything he'd spent months planning. He shouldn't have even been surprised.
Oh well, he'd let you tell Grimm that he wouldn't spend his life living like a millionaire at the Asim household.
The End

riddle rosehearts <3
riddle would only be open to dating someone after his overblot, he's such a stickler for the rules and didn't allow himself to truly let go and have fun until after the blot incident
he would be really scared to get into a relationship because of his parents, mostly his mom
he didn't want to get older and become his mother and treat his significant other like she treated him
you would probably have to be really close to him for him to start liking you tbh
the realization honestly hits him in the middle of the night
after doing his nightly routine he got into bed and relaxed, thinking over the unbirthday party that happened that night
adeuce had invited you to attend since you helped paint the roses, and since riddle had a bit of a soft spot for you by now he happily allowed it
you had a chair on one of the long sides of the table, closest to his chair at the head
late in the night his mind kept replaying you laughing at one of trey's bad jokes
oh shit.
riddle would be eyes open, staring at the wall in realization
the warmth he felt in his chest remembering your bright smile that day had him pleasantly overwhelmed
he never had the chance to crush on anyone else before since his mom so heavily sheltered him
this feeling came to him unknown and he was confused
he had a hard time falling asleep that night, and the next morning he immediately rushed to trey
after being teased a bit and prodded a bit more he realized he liked you
which, scared him
a couple days after he found out just what those feelings meant, he would have a hard time facing you
he didn't know what to do with this newfound information
you would have to confront him and make him tell you why he was borderline avoiding you
his face is RED red
he wouldn't stutter and would still kinda talk normally, but it would be more rushed
"Prefect... I've had the realization that I, really like you... If you would indulge me, I would love to take you out sometime...?"
Tumblr media
leona kingscholar <3
...eh
lions normally have a pride of females, so leona is kinda used to flirting and romance
however, he is the bastard second born, so he isn't used to being the center of attention
when he met you, he saw an opportunity to have the chance at romancing someone without his brother looming over his shoulder
you hadn't even HEARD of his brother, which meant you couldn't even really pick falena over him
this excited leona a lot, so he got really territorial over you really fast
he would also put quite a bit of effort into wooing you, well, more than normal
he really tries to make himself just generally more appealing
he's nicer when you're around and started taking care of himself a bit more
it's a subtle change to you, but he gets DESTROYED by ruggie
when he initially realized he liked you he didn't have any big reaction
he's been through a couple relationships prior to you so it's not really anything new to him
you will start being dragged into his schemes more
also known as i really hope you like napping because you're about to get crushed
he drags you into his naps a lot, and he lays directly on top of you
you will not escape.
also he starts giving you a lot of things, gifts, food, clothing
he's not a hopeless romantic so don't really expect any super grand gestures
he also doesn't really confess? he kinda just asks you out
confessing is lame to him, it's juvenile
"Ay, herbivore? You free this saturday? You better be, I need a date to this dumb restaurant."
Tumblr media
azul ashengrotto <3
motherfucker is NOT confessing first
i really hate to break it to you, but after his childhood, he does not have the confidence for that
now, azul may not confess, but he will flirt
...badly...
when he realized he kinda panicked and was immediately overwhelmed with worst case scenarios
he does not think you would ever like him, when he was younger he tried confessing to someone and got laughed at
so that kinda crushed him
jade and floyd would not be told, but they would notice very quickly
azul gets flustered when you're around and you get offered discounts occasionally
at first they thought azul wanted something materialistic from you
no he just wants your hand in marriage
they immediately become his wingmen, but
they are kinda the world's worst wingmen
jade is actually pretty good at highlighting azuls charms and good traits, but he also loves embarrassing azul in front of you
floyd is, floyd
he's a bit louder and much less subtle
and when combined they just start embarrassing azul, the poor octo-mer is dying
now, if you start hinting towards liking azul back, it is on
he immediately goes back into his smooth personality and he will start flirting with you
it starts of subtle, but it will become more apparent as time goes on
if you're really lucky and catch him on a good day, he'll ask you out
he'll invite you to monstro lounge, no one else will be there and you will be treated like royalty
jade would be the one serving you and floyd would be watching very intently from the kitchen
everything is on the house, just for you
"Have whatever you'd like, Prefect. This is all but a little taste of what more is to come."

a/n: i had so much fun writing azuls, i love octavinelle so much asdfghjk

2023 Ladynoir Fic Rec List
It’s the end of the year which means it’s finally time for the ML Big Bang’s yearly fic rec lists! We’re really excited to bring you our contributors’ favourite fics started this year to supply you with plenty of reading material while you’re waiting for the Big Bang fics’ publication in January.
all of your flaws and all of my flaws (are laid out one by one) by @coffeebanana
Ladybug and Marinette have both been acting strangely since Monarch's defeat, and Chat Noir would give anything to know why—to be able to help them. He just…didn't expect his answers to come when Ladybug drags him to his father's statue in the middle of the night along with a bag full of spray paint.
This fic explores the aftermath of the season 5 finale and provides some badly needed hurt/comfort, lovesquare communication, and vandalism ; )
with this ring by @thelibraryloser
She thought “you and me against the world” had sounded like lopsided odds before, when she hadn’t even dreamed “you against me” was a possibility. Or maybe she had dreamed it, but at least in those dreams he’d had cold blue eyes and a stark white mask. The villain she’d fought today had looked at her through her partner’s own bright green eyes. It wasn’t meant to be this way.
It tore at my heartstrings! It deals with a unique Ladynoir 'enemies' premise in a beautiful way
Let Me Count the Ways (aka Chat Noir's List of Ladybug's New Habits) by @sariahsue
Chat Noir thought it might be a good idea to start keeping a list of all the strange things Ladybug had been doing lately. It might help him to figure out what it all meant. There was the stumbling, the stuttering, the blushing. It had appeared out of nowhere. No, that wasn't quite right. It had all started when they were dancing at the gala, when she'd been so nervous that she tripped over the perfectly flat marble floor and smashed her face into his chest.
Like Smoke from a Furnace by @wackus-bonkus-maximus
Marinette and Adrien give up their Miraculous. Ladybug and Chat Noir never meet again.
It's hard to categorize this. Is this a ship or is it gen? It's strictly Adrienette because they're married. But pre-reveal. It forks after Kwami's Choice and asks the question: How would LB cope with LB and CN never getting their miraculous back after Kwami's Choice? But the story's title seems to indicate that this is kind of a "forbidden Ladynoir" fic because it's an allusion to the potentially devastating effects of "looking back" when you shouldn't. I've read this fic like a dozen times and am completely obsessed.
telepathy by @thelibraryloser
There’s a certain amount of telepathy created after several years fighting beside someone. It’s a mix of chemistry, history, and probably a bit of actual magic, and it comes down to this: Chat Noir usually knows exactly what his Lady is thinking. So, when a bike messenger hands him a three digit number written on a piece of hospital stationary, he knows exactly what Ladybug is asking him to do. He just can’t believe it.
soft and sweet and much ladynoir! <3
A 'Super' Guide to 'Super' Dating by @mysticraven20
When Ladybug just scrapes into the top 10 of Paris’ favourite heroes list, she asks her partner and her best friend for help. After they decide she’s not personable enough, which in result, makes her unapproachable, Marinette goes out to try and become one with the public by writing her very own dating blog. As the blog turns into an overwhelming hit, Marinette finds herself in an awkward position, once again falling for the guy she’s always longed for; a guy who has started his own search for love following her ‘Super’ guide to ‘Super’ Dating.
I just love the idea of Ladybug writing a dating column as she tries to find love in the city.

The world is sound. The crackle of fire and the rush of wind and the thunder of crumbling stone.
The world is color. The brilliant kaleidoscope of the sunset, stars emerging from the purple and pink backdrop of the sky.
The world is touch. Hands in his hair and fingers on his face and warm breath tickling his skin as he is scooped into a pair of trembling arms.
It crashes into Steve’s senses all at once, overwhelming and terrifying after the eternal white and the never-ending silence of his prison. It's too much. It's too beautiful. It can’t be real.
He's going insane.
He's been waiting to go insane for so long.
Because if insanity is sound and color and touch and a name on his lips that he thought he'd never hear again, if this is all in his head, he never wants to leave.
“Yes, sweetheart, it's me,” The vision murmurs, cradling his face in both hands. The gesture is comforting and soothing, and Steve realizes he's been babbling the name on repeat, an endless loop of Eddie Eddie Eddie. “I'm sorry it took so long, but I'm getting you outta here.”
Steve laughs, high-pitched and hysterical.
“You're-” he starts to say. His voice cracks. When he licks his lips, they taste like saltwater. “You're not really here. I've lost my mind, I'm imagining things.”
“Don't think you are,” Eddie hums. He's covered in soot and bleeding from a hundred tiny cuts, but his smile is bright and brilliant as always. “Wouldn’t be able to do this if I wasn't real, would I?”
His lips taste like ashes and magic. The ground shakes underneath them, and something crashes. Steve thinks that if the world broke apart around them right now, he'd happily stay in this kiss forever.
“Don’t,” he pleads when Eddie pulls away. “Don't stop.”
Eddie smiles, full of that grim determination that makes Steve’s stomach flutter.
“I won't,” he says, and the constellations in the sky glint in those impossibly dark eyes of his. Another crash pierces the air, so loud that Steve can feel it in his bones. “I swear it, honey. I'll get you back down and to safety, where they can't ever find us. And then I'll never stop kissing you, for as long as we both live.”
*
The world below the floating island is basked in dusk. Steve can see the shadows of clouds moving over the land, the sparkling bands of rivers weaving between forests and hills and cities. The ocean and the curve of the earth, far in the distance. He didn't see it when they brought him here. The view was obstructed by the giant tornado that surrounded this place, ready to tear everyone who dared approach it to shreds.
There's no tornado now.
Just like there are no griffins guarding the arched entryway of the fortress, no manticores prowling at the jagged edge of the island.
“What did you do?” Steve breathes as they skid to a halt, inches from the abyss. Behind them, the pillars of the entryway crumble and collapse. “How did you-”
“You know how they stay in power?” Eddie asks. He's ducked behind another pillar to retrieve a bundle of fabric and string, hidden out of sight. “Your family and their friends?”
Steve blinks, floundering and disoriented by the question and the barrage of noise and colors. Eddie straightens up, strapping what looks like a giant backpack decked in wires and ropes to his back.
“Magic,” he declares, throwing his arms out in an all-encompassing gesture. “This place, their splendid city, their fucking underwater prison, they all run on magic. Beautiful, isn't it? If it weren't for one tiny problem.”
He pauses dramatically, like he's waiting for Steve to catch on. When he fails to do so, he throws back his head and cackles, dark curls whipping around him in a chaotic tangle.
“There’s not enough natural magic in the world to keep it all going. So what did they do, like the greedy little morons they are? They amplified it!”
He laughs again, like it’s the best fucking joke in the entire world, grabbing Steve by the shoulders and pulling him in for a big, noisy smack on the mouth.
“Amulets and talismans and trinkets, Stevie! Dozens of them, all in the hands of the high and mighty, used to magnify their power. But take them away, and it all goes poof!”
He throws his hands up in the air, miming an explosion, just in time for another thunderous boom to shake the island. The ground tilts, just a bit.
“Do you know where they kept the most powerful one?” Eddie asks. This time, he doesn't wait for a reply. “Right here, Stevie. What better place than the big-ass, impenetrable, fucking sky vault to keep their biggest treasure, huh? They didn't think anyone would ever be insane enough to try and breach it. And you know what? I wouldn't have. They could've kept it, for all I fucking care, but they do not-”
The ground trembles again, little fissures erupting from the rock under their feet like spiderwebs. Eddie pauses and swallows, and his eyes are like fire in the dusk.
“They do not get to keep you.”
His voice is pure, unbridled rage. Steve knows the feeling all too well. The powerless rage of knowing exactly where they have taken the man you love, and having to be patient. Having to wait for days and weeks and months until your plan finally falls into place, knowing all the while that every hour, every second in that wretched place is too much. The all-consuming want to tear through all the walls, all the chains, all the barriers they’ve put in place to keep you apart, to destroy all that might ever stand in your way again.
Understanding comes slowly, but when it does, it punches the breath from his lungs with a hoarse wheeze. He is dizzy and his stomach swoops, but he isn't sure if it is from what he just realized or from the island breaking apart under their feet.
“You destroyed it,” he whispers. “Eddie, you- … what did you do?”
Eddie doesn’t answer. Instead, he pulls Steve closer, slipping a leather-and-rope harness over his shoulders to tether them both together.
“This little baby is all mechanics,” he says, not looking up from his task. His face is nothing but grim concentration as he makes sure every buckle and every rope sits correctly. “I'd have been here sooner, but it took a while to put this together and make sure it would actually work, so-”
“What about your magic?” Steve blurts.
“Don't worry, it'll come back once the natural equilibrium is restored.” Eddie shrugs, walking them both to the ledge. “Some of it at least. I think.”
Steve gapes at him. Eddie looks up from where he's been securing the last of the straps, sees his dumbstruck face and smiles.
“Stevie,” he says. He's too beautiful to be real. Beautiful and wild and untamed like the wind ripping at their clothes, like the sky stretching all around them. If they jumped now, they'd fall straight into its stars and constellations and never ever touch ground again. “It doesn't matter. There's no treasure in the world I wouldn't give up for you.”
Steve opens his mouth to argue, but another tremor interrupts him. Large chunks of rock come loose from below their feet, tumbling into the depths.
“Do you trust me?” Eddie asks. Steve doesn’t even think about it. It's like asking if water is wet. Eddie sees him nod and beams, delighted and a little smug. “Then let's get outta here.”
He wraps an arm around Steve’s waist, claiming his lips again. And then, without breaking the kiss, he steps over the ledge and they plummet.
The wind rips Steve’s scream straight from his mouth. His guts twist and his limbs go light with terror, but Eddie laughs. He yanks on one of the ropes, and something unfurls from his backpack in a ripple of cloth and wire. It snaps open somewhere over their heads, and Steve’s stomach lurches, and then, suddenly, they're no longer falling.
They're gliding.
Above them stretches what looks like a giant sail, stitched together from dozens and dozens colorful scraps of fabric. It carries them like a bird's wings, taking them away from the crumpling island, away from walls and chains and barriers, away from all that kept them apart.
Eddie whoops into the night sky, loud and unrestrained. It takes Steve a second or two to recognize the voice that joins in as his own. His stomach is still light, like it's filled with a million beating wings, but he realizes that it's not from vertigo.
It's happiness.
The sheer, overwhelming exhilaration of knowing Eddie made it, that they're both free and together and never parting again. Of knowing this is real.
They soar through the clouds, with the constellations close enough to touch, the earth spanning far below them like something from a dream. And if they never touch ground again? Steve thinks he wouldn’t mind one tiny bit.

Are you willing to make a long personal post about how Math should be presented in an educational environment or in general conversation trying to convince the other participants about its daily usage. How it can advance a person’s problem-solving skills and approach in life.
I’m really good in Mathematics. I’ve given help for my classmates and friends about Math when they are having trouble or ask for it. But I have never been convinced of its importance outside of the classroom, outside of the test papers that gives me the variables to substitute in the given equation of that test of the day.
How can Math and it’s many properties relate back to everyday life in a casual manner?
Hm. Well, as someone who hasn't had to solve an antiderivative in years, my perspective on this is that the most important and widely-applicable skill math can teach you is the stuff behind the math - mostly the muscle-memory you get from proofs.
Math is, at its core, puzzles and logic and pattern-recognition. You learn a set of tools, you practice those tools on a set of simple problems until you get a feel for them, you are presented with a bigger problem, you recall which tools best applied to problems that are shaped like this, you break the problem down using your tools and eventually reduce it to something you know how to solve.
The fact of the matter is, the tools that are specific to branches of math don't really have much widespread use outside pure mathematics, and unless you go out of your way to keep using them you're likely to lose track of them. Studying math is not going to turn you into a super-calculator-wizard who can bounce stuff off the walls at perfect angles and do six-figure arithmetic in seconds, and I think some people feel overwhelmed at the assumption that that's what's expected of them if they learn math, and some other people feel cheated when they learn that that's absolutely not going to happen, because most writers don't know math and when they tell stories with math in them their best guess is it makes you a wizard.
I think the most advanced math I've used lately was trigonometry, and that was just because I was curious about how fast my plane was traveling relative to the sun's apparent movement at my latitude. We were flying back to the US from Iceland and we'd taken off at sunset, and we had been in that sunset for at least an hour by the time I got curious how the math worked out and started estimating our latitude, the circumference of the slice of the earth at that latitude, and correspondingly how fast we were flying vs how fast it was spinning to complete a full rotation in 24 hours. But even if the math involved didn't tap into any of the higher-level stuff I'd learned post-trig, those years doing proofs and figuring out which tools applied to which geometry meant that I could use the tools and my training applying those tools to calculate what I wanted to know, and confirm that our plane was actually outflying the sun when we were at iceland latitude, but as we curved south the sun's apparent relative movement (aka the rotational speed of that latitude of the earth) slowly accelerated until we were falling behind, landing right as the sun finally set. The math involved was high school level, but if I'd been given that problem in high school it would've taken more work and more stress to figure out how the tools I had needed to be applied to the problem I was facing. The years of practice I had tackling much more complicated proofs made the diagnostic process much faster.
I saw someone once analogize studying math to lifting weights. Where am I going to use this in real life? How often will I really be faced with two dumbbells that need to be lifted in three sets of twenty? Where am I going to apply the skill of holding a heavy thing straight out to one side of my body?
You don't lift weights because lifting weights is such a valuable and widely-applicable skillset, you do it because lifting weights makes you better at lifting everything.
You don't study math because math is going to fill your daily life with concepts that you need to prove true for 1 and for n+1 given true for n, or complex solids that you need to sum an approximate volume for, or a surplus of sunset plane flights that demand you calculate a bunch of cosines. You study math because it is the skillset of making things make sense. It trains you to break a huge, incomprehensible problem down into a series of small problems you already know how to solve. It lets you reach true and correct conclusions by starting from facts and transforming them through operations that preserve truth, and correspondingly that if you reach a false conclusion from these methods, then either the methods are flawed or the initial assumption is not as true as you believed. It teaches you to put two and two together and be confident, once you've double-checked your work, that you can say four.
This is stuff I use all the time in both my video research and my freeform writing. Building out a slow picture of how a story was told or changed over time involves finding the context it was created in, and reverse-engineering what parts of that context could have produced what standout portions of the story - what authorial or cultural bias results in this standout story element. Worldbuilding where I take two wildly disparate parts of the world, put them together and see what web of implications springs out of combining them, following the threads to new and interesting concepts that follow from what I've already established. Building a character arc by breaking down exactly what events are happening to them and what transformation each component will apply to the underlying character. If I want the story to go in a certain direction, what transformations do I need to apply to make that happen while still preserving truth? If I'm faced with a seemingly insurmountable problem, what methods can I use to break it down into bite-sized pieces?
This isn't something I think about most of the time. It's just how my brain works at this point, and I can't promise it'd work for anyone else. But thanks to all my years of hard work and training, my brain has been buff enough to solve every problem I've tangled with since graduation, and that feels pretty good.

Tumblr media
A soft knock at the door woke you, and for a moment you felt fine. Then you remembered.
“I’ve got your breakfast, can I come in?”
Nami frowned when she saw you. She set your plate down on your desk, then pulled you into a hug.
“This whole thing seems like a lot of work. I’m here if you need me, okay?”
“Thanks, Nami. All I wanted to do was take a long shower, and now I might be breaking up with two people I’m not actually with.”
“Gotta be careful about those showers, they can fuck you up.”
You gave a laugh that might have been a sob before squeezing her tighter.
“Love you.”
She pulled away, but grabbed your shoulders, leaning her face toward yours.
“Love ya too, weirdo. What do you need today?”
“Um, can you bring me my field notes? Chopper knows where they are. I’m just gonna work in here today, I’m not ready to people.”
“Of course. I can bring you your other meals too if you want.”
Sighing as you nodded, memories of recent times in the kitchen fought you as you tried to shove them down.
“Luffy really thinks you’re sick now.”
“He might not be far off. I feel like shit.”
After Nami came back to drop off lunch later, another knock came, freezing you on the spot.
“Hi, it’s Robin.”
You cringed a bit, embarrassed for her to see you like this, but you let her in. Her eyes combed over you, lips pursing as she stepped inside. She kept a noticeable distance between you.
“Y/N, I came to apologize. I shouldn’t have been pushing you like this, I knew you were overwhelmed already. I’m so sorry I added to your struggle.”
“No, Robin, it's okay. You helped me! I really needed to hear what you said.”
Robin let out a breath, but her brows were still tensed. She looked down at the ground before meeting your eyes again.
“I shouldn’t have pushed myself on you. I’m sorry, Y/N.”
Her normally steady eyes looked heavy, a sight she rarely shows.
Reaching for her hand, you felt a gentle smile warming your face.
“I’m not sorry.”
Her lips curled up just a bit, and she squeezed your fingers gently.
“I’m so glad to hear that… How about we wait on that date until everything settles?”
You almost argued that you didn’t need to wait, but you realized that you did.
“Thank you, Robin.”
She brushed a strand of hair from your face, and you breathed in her lovely scent.
“Thank you, Y/N. Let me know if you need anything. I’ll do what I can to calm the rest of the crew.”
The comfort that Robin's presence left you with made you feel safer, warmer.
But it was as if that feeling of safety made room for your body to feel the rest.
Sitting at your desk staring at your field notes, your vision started to blur. You had to close your journal to keep tears from staining your monographs.
You kept your sobs silent, not wanting anyone to hear. Then you remembered why you’d gotten so good at keeping your screams quiet lately. You had to cover your mouth as you choked, louder sobs escaping you now.
Why did I do this to myself? I knew it would hurt. Just not this much, not so fast. I should have stopped.
But you hated that thought. The thought of not enjoying the short time you’d had with both of them. The pleasures, the laughter, the growing warmth. You didn’t want to lose any of it, even if it would hurt less.
You tried not to think about what choice they would make. The only one you wanted felt selfish. You’d get to have everything.
And if you didn’t get to have everything, then it would be nothing. You knew that even if one of the boys chose to leave, and one wanted to stay, you couldn’t continue with only one. There was too much heat between all three of you. You knew it would drive an even bigger wedge between them, potentially tearing them, and the crew apart.
I can’t do that.
So it was all or nothing, and your body was preparing you for the worst.
A knock shook you from your spiral and you moved to the door, expecting Nami. Wiping your tears and shaking your arms, you checked.
“Who is it?”
“Hi, Y/N. I’ve got your dinner, and I didn’t eat any of it.”
Your eyes went wide, but you let your captain in.
“Thank you, Luffy.”
He walked right in, setting your plate on your desk before plopping on your bed.
You stared, not sure what to say. He pointed to your desk chair, and you felt suddenly terrified as you sat and faced him. He watched you like he was sizing you up.
“Robin told me and Chopper why you’ve been weird.”
“O-Oh?”
“I’m the captain, Y/N. I need to know my crew is okay.”
Fear iced through you, and you stared into your lap. He should kick me off the crew. I’m splintering his best fighters, endangering everyone.
His hand stretched toward you, and he touched your shoulder until you met his eyes.
“It all seems a little crazy to me.”
You let out a near panicked laugh before you caught yourself.
“Yeah, me too.”
“But you care about them?”
His deep eyes looked so soft, his voice intense.
“I do.”
Nodding, he crossed his arms.
“They care about you too, Y/N.”
You felt your lips shaking, heat rising in your throat.
“As long as you care about each other, and keep fighting for your dreams, I’m happy.”
Hot tears spilled down your cheeks as Luffy started to smile.
“Can you be happy too?”
Your lips pulled into a strained smile as you tried to stop your tears.
“I’ll get there, Luffy. It’s just rough right now. But I’m glad you’re my captain.”
Luffy was beaming at you now, then stretched to ruffle your hair. He leaned toward you, and whispered softly.
“Will you keep giving me the extra food Sanji makes you?”
You burst out laughing, and Luffy’s smile stretched even wider.
“Yes, captain!”
Luffy grabbed you in a hug, twirling you as much as he could in the small quarters. This is family.
As he left he gave you one more serious look.
“Y/N, please tell me next time something is hurting you. I’m your captain and I need to know.”
“I promise, Luffy.”
All the emotions of the day had you feeling empty, but now it was more pleasantly numb. Your biggest fear of losing your place on this crew, in this family, those fears were shrinking away from you. Soft tears of relief left your eyes now, and you tried to comfort yourself against the hurt of losing Zoro and Sanji. At least I won’t lose them completely.
That thought brought back more of the pain, but you shook it off. It was getting late, and you wanted to get some air. Steeling yourself, you picked up your dishes and went down the hall, hoping to sneak them into the galley before sitting out on deck.
You crept against the wall, listening to check if Sanji was inside or not before heading in.
But you heard two low voices.
“You don’t know her like I do.”
“I care about her, Marimo. I care about her enough to share her with you. Can you say the same?”
You tried to force your body to turn around, to head back to your room, but all you could focus on was not shaking the plate and silverware in your hands.
Your heart was in your throat, and you felt faint as you waited for what felt like hours for his response.
“Yeah, I can, idiot cook.”
A gasping sob escaped you, and you tried to cover your mouth. Instead, you dropped your dishes, the plate shattering at your bare feet. You stared at the broken porcelain, and started laughing hysterically.
“Y/N!”
They both rushed out, concern in their eyes.
“Are you hurt?” “You okay?”
You were too out of it to respond, and kept laughing as they both tried to lift you. Zoro won, lifting you in his arms, while Sanji brushed along your feet and legs, checking for glass.
Your breathing slowed as you felt Zoro’s racing heart, and you felt like you could fall asleep in his arms. He carried you into the kitchen while Sanji swept up the broken plate.
Zoro placed you gingerly in the booth, his brows furrowed as he looked you over.
“Needy, please. Are you okay?”
You smiled at the nickname, and looked at them both as Sanji joined you at the table.
“I’m okay.”
Neither of them seemed convinced, but you couldn’t explain the rush of relief and happiness that had just torn through your already overwhelmed system. But you tried.
“I didn’t mean to. But I heard you.”
You felt your lips quivering again as they both seemed to soften.
“It’s okay if you still need some time to think-”
“I don’t need time my love-” “I’m good, Needy-”
Your cheeks hurt from the smile that stretched your face, especially when they both grinned back at you.
Then your mouth stretched further into the biggest, loudest yawn you’d ever felt.
“You need some sleep-” “Let’s get you to bed, dear-”
Zoro went to lift you, but Sanji tapped his shoulder.
“You just carried her, It’s my turn now.”
“I’m not letting a pervert cook into her bedroom when she needs to rest.”
“Boys,” you commanded with another yawn. “Flip a coin or something please, I’m tired.”
Your yawns were mixed with tired giggles while you saw them rustling through their pockets. Sanji’s satisfied laugh, and Zoro’s grumble gave away the winner.
Sanji lifted you gently, and you smelled cigarette smoke and spices on his jacket. Zoro followed close, opening the door, and hovering while Sanji set you in bed, drawing the covers over you.
“Good night, darling-” “Good night, Needy-”
“Night, boys…”
A soft knock woke you, and for a moment you felt all that sadness. Then you remembered.
You sat straight up in bed, hoping that it wasn’t a dream.
“Who-Who is it?”
“Your favorite navigator, lazybones. Do you want to come to breakfast?”
You jumped out of bed, stumbling.
“Yeah, I’ll be right out!”
Your reflection looked dazed, and you slapped your cheeks a few times, laughing. You hurried to get ready, and had to stop yourself from racing down the hall.
Everyone was there, already digging into their plates. They all turned to stare at you with teasing, or cheesy faces. Your face flushed, and you bit your lip before climbing into the empty spot Zoro had saved for you. You were next to him at the edge of the table, where Sanji stepped up to bring you what looked like a mimosa with tangerine blossoms for a garnish.
“Hey, why don’t I get one of those?”
“Apologies Nami, dear. I will whip one up for you right away. Would you like one as well, Robin?”
“That sounds lovely, Sanji.”
“Hey, don’t hog the booze, waiter. Make me one of those too.”
“You haven’t earned it, moss hea-”
Everyone's clamoring voices died down as you burst out laughing, almost hysterical, but so full of joy and relief.
Luffy grinned, stretching to hit your arm lightly with his fist, Chopper looked confused, Usopp was asking Sanji for his own mimosa, and Nami and Robin laughed with you.
The boys had stopped arguing, and were both staring at you. Until your skin flushed red again, and your laughter hiccuped and faded.
“Ugh. I love you, Y/N, but this is gonna get annoying real fast.”
You stuck your tongue out at Nami as she winked, and fell into quiet joy while you tried to listen to the group.
Sanji kept bringing you delicious gifts, and you’d wink at Luffy so he could snag them. Each time Sanji came your way he would give you a soft peck on the forehead, or shoulder, or knuckles.
A low grumble moved through Zoro, but all he did was wrap his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his warmth.
Feeling like you were going to pass out, you didn’t even hear most of what the crew were saying while they teased you.
You caught yourself doing your happy food wiggle dance, and couldn’t seem to stop, even humming now and then. The crew left the three of you there, and you didn’t hear their goodbyes, just beamed lazily at them.
Sanji brought his plate to the table, and cleared his throat until Zoro begrudgingly scooted over, dragging you with him to make room on the bench. Sanji winked at you before diving into his meal, and you just sat there wiggling, out of your mind.
“I knew you were fuckin’ needy.”
You laughed while Sanji spluttered, and you patted his knee to calm him.
“What do you mean, Zoro,” you smirked up at him, teasing.
“You know what I mean. So fucking spoiled.”
“Don’t listen to him, angel. You deserve to be spoiled, to be-”
Another bout of hysterical laughter left you, and eventually they joined in.
Finally, you gained some control of yourself, and tried to hold a conversation.
“I’m so happy you both chose to stay with me.”
You stopped them both from speaking at the same time, realizing that it would be difficult to get much done with all three of you in a room.
“We definitely need to keep checking in, and figuring out boundaries. I don’t think my brain is up for that today though.”
“What are you up for, my dear?”
“Mm, I like this,” you sighed, rocking back and forth against each of their sides.
You caught Zoro rolling his eyes, and you stuck your tongue out at him.
“What about you guys? Your needs matter too here. What do you need?”
Neither spoke for a minute, and you played with your spoon.
“I guess, um…”
You looked up at Zoro, desperate to hear him actually express his fucking needs.
“How do we figure out time for just us?”
He said those words softly, and you knew how huge it was that he hadn’t said it with anger or frustration. You smiled up at him, then at Sanji who seemed to be waiting with rapt attention.
“Well, we can always check in, and change things if the system isn’t working out. But how about for now we stick to alternating days? Not just for sex, but for our time together?”
They both nodded, Zoro slowly, and Sanji with an eager smile. You squeezed both of their knees before reaching for the last of your mimosa.
You sat back, and they both tilted to see you better. You fought more laughter at what a lovely pair they made.
“Y/N, dear-” “So who-”
They glared at each other, until Sanji did a small mock bow to let Zoro go first.
Zoro’s mouth twitched as he looked away from both of you before continuing. He didn’t meet your gaze when he finished his question.
“Who’s turn is it?”
Your lips parted, and you watched them both look guilty while they waited for you.
This is crazy. How did I manage this?
Zoro cleared his throat, leaning with his elbows over the table.
“Yesterday was supposed to be my day.”
“Technically we didn’t finish my day before that.”
“You’re really gonna pressure her ab-” “You’re the one that’s pressuring her Mari-”
“Technically today was supposed to be Robin’s day.”
Your words shut them both up, and it took way too much effort to hold in your satisfied smile at their expressions.
Zoro looked shocked again, as if he’d blocked that out of his mind. Sanji’s fists had clenched, and you could see the veins in his neck and face throbbing as he turned bright red.
You couldn’t help it. A small laugh escaped you.
“Don’t worry, Robin and I decided to wait on our date until things are settled.”
You could have sworn you heard a tiny whimper from Sanji’s throat.
“How about we start things fresh with a coin toss?”
They both reached for a coin and threw them in the air, calling out the choice. You laughed as they both lost their own tosses.
“Let me do it.”
You’d grabbed Zoro’s coin, and tried to mimic them. You kept throwing it onto the table, or failing to catch it. The coin would drop on your lap, both of them reaching for your thighs to grab it for you, growling as their hands touched.
“Gods, can you guys just agree on which one of you tosses the coin? Pretty please?”
Sanji ended up giving in to your wishes again first, letting the swordsman toss. Then Zoro swore as the coin fell in Sanji’s favor. Sanji kissed your cheek while Zoro left the table after rubbing along your shoulders.
“See ya later, Needy.”
“Wait!”
You rushed over to your surly crewmate. The man who had walked in on you in the shower, and declared that you should fuck. You laughed softly at how crazy your life had been since that moment. And you couldn’t be more grateful for it if you tried.
“What,” he asked, his brows tensing as you laughed.
“It’s nothing,” you whispered, standing on tip toes in a silent request for a kiss.
His look of surprise deepened your smile, and he gripped the hair at the back of your neck when he pulled you to his lips.
A soft cough sounded behind you, and Zoro hummed as he pulled away to smirk at the cook. You nudged him out the door.
Turning around, you saw his eyes wide, waiting. You leaned toward him, feeling his soft lips kiss the corners of your mouth before pulling you into his arms to breathe along your ear.
“All to myself?”
Sanji’s raspy voice made you moan, your body still so ready even with all that had happened. You almost felt high, like all the emotions had left your body buzzing.
You looked up into his soft eyes, watching his lips part when he noticed how heavy your breaths were.
“D-Darling. I didn’t mean… Let me-”
He froze when you gripped his arms to keep him from pulling away.
“I want all sorts of lovely moments with you, Sanji, and I know we’re going to have them.”
The sweet smile that bloomed on his face made your heart dance in your chest for a moment, and you had to take a deep breath.
“I don’t want you to feel bad if we start today where we left off.”
You let heat fill your eyes as you wet your lips. Sanji’s eyes seemed to be pulled to your mouth, and you saw his breath hitch.
“A-Are you sure?”
Grinning at him, you nodded as you bit your lip.
He lunged toward your lips again, but you pressed your hands to his chest.
“Maybe we should go to one of our rooms now that everyone knows?”
You gasped as he looked at you like he was about to eat you.
“That’s too far, sweetheart. How about I take you in the pantry?”
You’d barely breathed out your ‘yes,’ before he lifted you into the air. He pulled you so fast, but still managed to grip you in a way that was comfortable. Your arms and legs wrapped around him, and he groaned while you kissed and licked along his neck.
Setting you gently in the walk in pantry, he held your face while he kissed you before rushing out. You tilted your head after him, but moaned when he returned with a condom and lube. Memories of your first time with him, and the sting and pleasure of his thick cock pulsed through you. Your eyes fell back in your head, and he gave a satisfied chuckle as he turned on the small light before closing the door.
“My sweet, Y/N… How can I show you how special you are to me?”
“You can tell me all the filthy things you want to do to me.”
You pulled your panties off from under your skirt and threw them at his chest.
Sanji had to catch himself against the wall as he moaned, almost dropping the lube.
He already looked wrecked when he met your eyes, and it drove you crazy.
“What do you want to do to me, Sanji?”
He was panting as he watched you pull your skirt up, so slowly. You took the condom and lube from him, and set them on a shelf.
Skin on fire, you didn’t know what had gotten into you. But you wanted him now, and you couldn’t stop yourself. You pressed yourself against his chest, looking into his blown out eyes. Both of you cried out when you dragged your hand along his length, already so fucking hard.
“Sanji, I asked you a question.”
Your words came out soft and dark. You watched his eyes flutter, and you wanted to speed him up. Taking his hand in yours, you whispered his name before pressing his fingers into your wet folds.
He moaned so loud, and your knees went weak. He had to catch you, then he pressed you against the wall, shoving two fingers into you.
“You are so fucking perfect. My sweet, dirty angel.”
Crying out at his praise, your body started shaking for him.
“P-Please, Sanji.”
He rutted against your thigh when you begged, and the feel of his clothed shaft rubbing against you made you whimper.
“I can’t believe you’re letting me do this to you. Such a beautiful, lovely girl. And you’re letting me touch you like this, where anyone could find us.”
He moaned into your ear, breathing in the scent of your hair.
You cried out his name, already feeling on the edge, ready.
“So gorgeous. Let me take care of you, angel. Let me make you feel good.”
“Yes, Sanji, please.”
He fell to his knees with a moan, tasting your needy cunt with that skilled tongue. His two fingers kept up their work while he swirled his tongue ring around your clit.
You had already started shaking before he plunged that third finger into you, and then you were gone. You shoved your own fist into your teeth, and panted as you bucked against Sanji’s face, coming on his tongue.
He licked you up like he was dying of thirst, while his three fingers kept prepping you.
He looked up at you, face glistening in the small light.
“You taste divine, my sweet.”
You moaned as his fingers kept working you.
“It’s probably time for me to prep for lunch, darling.”
You whined, grinding on his fingers.
He groaned, then checked his watch.
“Please Sanji. We’ll have so many more times to play for longer. Please fuck me against the wall right now. I know how much your perverted mind wants you to.”
You moaned as Sanji’s hand twitched inside you, his head falling back as he moaned.
“Please Sanji, I know you’ll take good care of me. Please, please fuck me now. I know you’d love it if someone caught us.”
He fell forward, mouth hanging open as his face pressed against your hip.
He was still taking too long.
You gripped your fingers into his hair, and pulled his face to yours.
“Sanji, are you going to make me beg?”
You watched his eyes harden, and cried out as his long fingers worked you with even more strength.
“A lady always gets what she wants in my kitchen.”
You moaned his name as he stood, kissing his way up your neck.
His fingers left you, and you clung to the wall as you watched him free his cock from his slacks before dragging the condom and lube down his length.
He came toward you, and lifted your leg so that your foot rested on a low shelf. His hands trailed along your neck, then your thighs. Your back arched as he teased his shaft along your entrance, the size of him so warm against you.
“I can’t believe how lucky I am.”
His whispers against your cheek while he dragged his tip along your clit made you shiver for him.
“To have such an exquisite beauty, coming on my face in the pantry.”
You cried out, clawing at his shoulders.
He slapped his thick cock against your entrance a few times while you moaned for him.
“To have such a gorgeous pussy, aching for me to fill it.”
“Fuck, Sanji, please!”
“Of course, darling.”
Biting your lip, your head fell back as you felt him against your center. Not even pressed into you, and your body was readying.
“That’s good, angel. Breathe for me. You know I’ll take care of you.”
You moaned for him, scratching your nails down his striped shirt as he pushed into you, so slowly.
“Gods, Sanji-”
“Shh, darling. Just breathe, and take me, baby. I know you can, you’re so perfect for me.”
Your pussy clenched around him, and he thrust the rest of the way in as he moaned.
“Sweetheart, you okay?”
“Y-Yes, Sanji.”
“Good girl… So perfect.”
As Sanji’s thick cock started pumping into you, slowly, then faster and faster, you forgot where you were, who you were. Just the sharp pain and pleasure of him inside you, and his endless, delectable words were all that held you to reality. His breath was hot on your face and neck as he panted his praise along your skin.
“Y/N, your pussy is fucking heavenly, baby. Fuck. Just like that, I feel you squeezing me so hard. You want my cock inside you, don’t you angel. You want me to make you feel so good, to take care of my perfect girl.”
“Yes, Sanji. Please take care of me.”
He moaned at that, shoving into you, thrusts becoming staggered. He reached down, massaging your clit while you gasped.
“So soft, so good for me…There you go darling- fuck, yes Y/N, milk my cock like a good girl- fuck-”
Sanji came into you with whimpered moans while you shattered around him. He had to hold your slumped body up, gingerly removing himself from you while you cried out.
You whimpered as he pressed soft kisses to your face, before reaching for your panties on the floor. He gave you a satisfied smile as he used them to wipe you clean, before using them to clean himself off after removing that very full condom.
You moaned while you watched him rub your panties on his cock, his eyes heavy lidded even after what you’d just done.
“You’re gonna need to buy me some new panties if you keep taking all of mine.”
His breath came out heavy as he smiled.
“Oh I plan on buying you so many special gifts, my sweet.”
Miraculously, you made it out of the pantry with time to spare, even rushing for a quick shower before heading back to lunch.
Even though it was Sanji’s day, it looked like meals were going to stay a shared time. You sighed as you leaned against Zoro, dampening his shirt with your still wet hair.
“Y/N, do you know if we still have any yarrow? I remember you said it can be used to staunch bleeding, and I’d like to keep some on hand if we run out of our other supplies.”
“Y-Yes Chopper. I believe we do, but I’ll check after lunch.”
I really should get back to work at some point.
But with Zoro’s warmth at your side, and Sanji’s wink while he started on dishes, you weren't sure how you were going to do that.
Especially when you met Robin’s deep blue eyes, and saw her lips curve in that teasing smile.
Who knows the next time we’ll be in danger again? I should enjoy this bliss for as long as I can.
Your selfish little smile at that thought felt oh so good.
I guess I really am Needy after all.

Beautiful
|Poppy fails to realize her beauty- which is why God created Branch 😌✨|
Branch knocked on the door of Poppy's pod, waiting expectantly for her usual cheery answer. She knew his usual curt knock and always answered with an excited squeal and "Come Innnnnn," in a sing-song voice.
But today that call didn't come.I
Just a-- groan? Did she just groan about his arrival?!
"Uhm, Poppy?" Branch said through the door. "It's me. I just came to pick you up for our date."
 Silence.
"If you need me to come back later, I will," he offered. What was he saying? It was like nine at night, all he wanted to do was go to bed, despite how much he loves his dates with his girlfriend. He wasn't about to leave the date at the appointed time, stay awake, then come back. That was silly, and honestly, exhausting.
"Branch..." The groan from that loved voice that he knew so well drifted from the inside. "Can we just-- do this another day?!"
Branch frowned. "What? Re-schedule? You have never done that ever." His eyebrows furrowed. His ear pressed against the door. "Honey, are you okay?!!"
"Yeah, I...no?" Another groan of disgust, then a bang! as something inside fell to the floor.
 Branch flinched.
 "Poppy?"
 More silence.
 "Poppy, can I come in?"
 A shriek of annoyance. "Fine!! Whatever, it's too late anyway! I don't care, I don't, I--"
Branch opened the door and entered right away. His eyes widened at the mess everywhere. Clothes were thrown in the floor, along with purses, combs and brushes.
Chairs and a table, plus a few chairs had been knocked over into the floor. They all lay there looking sad.
Then her mirror stand, right beside her bed, with small light bulbs surrounding the actual mirror, was a mess, the one drawer hanging out, her makeup bag spilling out it's contents into the desk, but the biggest shock was Poppy herself.
She was sitting in front of her mirror on a small cushion seat, her hair sticking up everywhere, her mascara dripping from her lashes, her green strapped dress that she was currently wearing all wrinkled and put on backwards.
As soon as he entered, she shrieked and covered her face. "Don't look at me!!"
Branch covered his eyes with his hand. "Why not?"
"I look terrible, that's why!" Her voice shook with embarrassment and dread.
Branch lowered his hand as he neared her. "Don't be ridiculous, Poppy."
Poppy sobbed into her hands. "I'm not. I look terrible!!"
Branch reached out and caressed her shoulder. "What's wrong? I've never seen you like this."
Poppy swiped at her eyes. "I always behave like this before dates. I just usually have more time to freak out and worry about...well, everything. I finished work late, so I'm super overwhelmed-"
"Whoa. Hold up." He sat on the bed next to her and looked into her mascara dripping eyes. "Did you say...always before dates?"
 Poppy sniffed and didn't answer.
"Poppy, don't tell me you worry about your looks before dates."
She never seemed like that type of girl.
"I always worry about my looks around you." Poppy sighed shakily. "I know that doesn't matter much to you, but when you comment on how pretty I look or so on, I always feel obligated to keep those standards, if it pleases you that much, you know, and I worry that it doesn't and so I need more time to-" she stopped to swipe again at the tears rolling down her cheeks. "If you give me another thirty minutes, I will have my makeup perfect and hair and dress ready too, I promise, I just-"
"Poppy, please!!" Branch scratched the side of his head. "I didn't - oh gosh... I didn't mean to make you so stressed when I complimented you."
"I'm not stressed," Poppy argued.
Branch eyed her up and down, then raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
Poppy shrugged slightly.
Branch opened his mouth, closed it again, still in shock while looking at the crazy mess she was in. Her hair was literally yanked absolutely everywhere. Her eyes were red, and the strap to the dress was hanging down on her arm instead of shoulder.
He began to chuckle.
The laugh startled Poppy and she just sat there, staring at him. Was he laughing at her?! Did she really look that bad?!!
Her eyes began to tear up. "I'm sorry, Branch," she whispered, ashamed.
"No, it's not that," Branch continued to chuckle as he stood up and fixed her dress strap, setting it firmly on her shoulder. He smiled at the Poppy watching him, confused, through the mirror.
"Then what is it?" she asked.
Branch stood behind her, reached around and lifted her chin up high, to look herself straight in the mirror with both of his hands.
She quivered.
"You're just- so beautiful. That's all."
 Beautiful? But...
"How? I look dreadful!" Poppy looked back up at him, arguing. "I haven't even fixed my dress yet."
"You don't need to be fixed up to be beautiful, Poppy," Branch smirked at her. "And you don't need makeup, fixed hair, a wonderful dress or any of that either."
Poppy now looked down. "You do if you don't have natural beauty."
Branch looked at her, surprised by her response. "Natural beauty? Of course you have natural beauty, Poppy."
Poppy glanced at her face again, then shook her head. "Heck, no. It's just a face. And a plain old body structure. Nothing special. Nothing beautiful or pretty."
Branch frowned. He got on his knees, and set his arms in hers so she had to look him in the eyes.
"Poppy... I don't think you realize just what a wonder you are. I'll show you." He reached up and took her chin in her hands.
Her eyes searched him and he smiled. "Your eyes... Do you know what color they are?"
She shrugged. "Magenta."
"Right." Branch chuckled again. "Do you realize how much love and joy shines in those eyes, Poppy? How much my legs just want to buckle up and give way when you turn to me and look at me with them? How pure and amazing they are? Their color and the light they shine with?"
He leaned up to kiss her eyelids and she smiled as she closed her eyes.
"And don't even get me started on that smile of yours!" Branch smirked again, caressing her cheek. "If I thought your eyes shine a lot, then it's nothing compared to your smile."
Poppy only smiled bigger and have a short giggle.
"And your laugh. Oh." Branch gave a scoff. "It's only the most melodious sound my ears have ever heard. I shiver when I hear that sound, Poppyseed."
He kissed her quickly, then reached for her hair. "Your hair is perfectly coily, perfectly straight when it needs to be. I love the way it could around my finger so easily-" he twisted his finger, encircling it with her pink hair. "And how I can give it a light teasing tug without hurting you." A tug on her hair, and another giggle escaped her.
Branch stood up and kissed the top of her head, but kept his face buried in it. "I could say so much about the rest of you but I think it's time for our date."
Poppy jolted up again, alarmed. "Branch! I can't go out like this!"
"You can and will." Branch grabbed her hand, intertwined his fingers with hers, kissed her hand (he loved her hands as well), and dragged her out of her pod.
"Branch! Wait! Can I at least put my hair up?!" Poppy begged.
"Nope!" Branch laughed. "I like it all ruffled." He ran a hand through it, ruffling it up more.
"Branch, please don't, it looks so ba-" She was surprised when Branch used his hand exploring her hair to yank her closer to him and kissed her.
Her arms immediately wrapped around his neck, pressing him closer, as his other hand reached around her hips, gently caressing her back.
When he pulled apart, Poppy whispered, "I do look messed up, Branch."
"You do," he whispered back. "But you also look perfect."and
Poppy thought for a moment. "Do I really have natural beauty, Branch? Without the add-ons?"
Branch smiled. "Everyone has natural beauty. The thing is whether people choose to recognize it or not." He pressed his forehead against hers. "But you have the most beautiful natural beauty I've seen in a woman," he joked.
Poppy giggled. "Thanks," she whispered in return as they shared one last kiss before continuing their date.
Idek. Idekkkk, I don't, I don't. Thx for reading, you are literally the best for reading past the chapter explanation. Hahahahaha, HEARTSSS ❤❤❤

ohhhhhhhhhhhh
-
"You don't cook at home?"
When Shoko had dragged you out to a girl's night with some of her old friends from medical school, citing that Satoru and Suguru had kept you cooped up in the apartment for themselves for too long, this was not a question you anticipated to be answering. At first you were overwhelmed. It was a large gathering. Ten became eight, and eight had dwindled to six and then four. Right on the verge of retiring for the night, conversation had shifted to the topic of boyfriends and relationship woes.
And now three pairs of eyes look to you. An amused chuckle escapes Shoko's lips, a lit cigarette neatly slotted between her lips.
You blink, embarrassment washing over you. "I—well." You stare down at your lap. "I'm not really that good at cooking...so my boyfriend...does all the cooking."
Suguru does the cooking. And the laundry. When Suguru's away, Satoru takes care of it. Satoru washes the dishes. Cleans. He sweeps and vacuums and tidies after the kids. You had tried to help, once, but Suguru had directed you away, and now the realization is quickly dawning on you that it may have been because you are simply incompetent at housework.
You may not be able to cook, but nobody is incompetent at cleaning!
Except…maybe you. You don’t know. You’ve never needed to clean. Nothing more than a perfunctory clean every once in a while when you lived alone. You weren’t a messy person. Shoko remarked often that your first apartment was cleaner than it had been when you had originally moved in.
"How sweet," Kuriyama sighs out. "My boyfriend can't even cut a vegetable! He cooks for you? Everyday?"
"U-usually," is your response while your mind races, trying to think back to the last time you had helped with anything around the house. Anything.
"The only thing my boyfriend can make is ramen. Not to mention he's super picky about his food!" Mori shakes her head. "He's so difficult! Honestly I think of dumping him everyday for being so incompetent!"
You stare at her.
Shoko clears her throat. "I'm sure it’s not only that—”
“I agree,” Kuriyama says, nodding, face fiercely determined. “It gets so tiring sometimes taking care of everything. Maybe it’s time to move on!” She leans in. “Your boyfriend wouldn’t happen to have any good looking friends?”
Out of all the reasons that constantly filled your head with why Satoru and Suguru would break up with you, you hadn’t expected your inability to do household chores to be one of them.
Incompetent.
Well, it would certainly be understandable. If anything, you think you would prefer them breaking up with you over something as mundane as not being able to do housework, instead of the many flaws to your character. It would settle easier. It would hurt less. Now you just had to prepare yours—
“Let’s call it a night!” Shoko interrupts, cigarette disposed, taking you to stand up by the arm. “I have to get her back before people start calling,” she says, interlacing your fingers.
Kuriyama sighs. “Just when we were getting to the best part, Shoko!”
“Yeah, yeah,” Mori grins. “You should come to our next night out. You can invite your boyfriend too! We’ll make an exception!”
Shoko waves them off, pulling you outside the izakaya.
“I can’t cook either,” she says as the two of you wait for a taxi. You know that. But Shoko bakes. Cookies and cakes and occasionally other baked goods. You spent nights over at her apartment eating cupcakes until late in the morning, watching American dramas and horror movies. Delicious, mouth watering desserts.
“Who expects women to cook nowadays anyway?”
When the elevator parts to your apartment, you immediately go to Mimiko and Nanako’s room and check their pink laundry hamper. Empty. Then to Tsumiki’s room. Empty. Megumi’s room. Empty.
You’re seated on the floor of Megumi’s room when the door opens again.
“How was the—”
You push past Satoru to go into your shared room at the end of the hall to check your laundry hamper. Suguru is reading on the bed when you open the closet. Empty. You sit down, knees flush to your chest, dejected.
You don’t need to look behind you to know Satoru and Suguru are exchanging glances.
From your knees, you mumble. “Did you do the laundry?”
It’s Suguru that answers you. “We just finished a load.”
“Oh.”
You sit in silence.
At least, until Satoru gently yanks you up into his arms, and carries you to the bed. You immediately turn face down on your comforter, covering your face.
You think they must be having another one of their silent conversations. You squeeze your eyes shut. Tomorrow, you resolve, you’d wash the dishes after dinner.
You hear the door open yet again with Satoru’s departure, and Suguru softly says your name. You sigh, picking yourself up. You really can’t refuse Suguru when he says your name like that.
“Where are the kids?” You ask, even though you already know where they are. They’d be back early tomorrow morning, before school.
“Educational overnight field trip with Yaga,” Suguru replies, amused as your attempt to delay the inevitable. He plays along, lightly teasing. “It’s not like you to forget these things.”
You don’t meet his eyes. Suguru calmly waits you out until you lamely say: “I don’t help around the house.”
You can tell he’s taken aback. “Is that why you were looking for…dirty clothes?”
You’re embarrassed just thinking about it. “...”
“I like cooking,” he says. “I like cooking and watching you, Satoru, Megumi, and the girls enjoy what I make. And I definitely, don’t think it’s a burden. We order out a lot too, don’t we?” He continues. “As for the laundry, I grew up doing it with my mother. It reminds me of home.”
You reluctantly look up. There’s a soft smile on his lips. “I can wash the dishes.”
He chuckles, hand caressing your face. You nearly close your eyes and lean into it. “You don’t need to. You don’t need to do anything.”
You still want to. Try. It makes you feel better. Slightly. The knots in the pit of your stomach loosen. “Can I help you with lunch for the kids tomorrow…?”
He pretends to think about it. The fondness in his barely suppressed expression gives him away. "Maybe if you give me a kiss first."
"Suguru," you grumble.
He only replies with your name, face erupting into a full blown grin.
Your face warms as you lean close and cup his face with your hands, bringing your lips to his. He pulls you on to straddle his lap, wrapping an arm around your waist and breathes you in. His lips briefly part, and you feel his tongue run over your bottom lip.
You pull away, about to rest your face onto his shoulder, into his neck. His dark purple gaze draws you in. “We can take care of you,” he says, softly. Then he kisses you again, and this time you let him take you apart with his tongue. Against your lips: “We can take care of you.”
You draw apart, breathless. You pointedly stare at the wall behind him while you attempt to regain what’s left of your composure. Suguru laughs and presses a kiss to your collarbone, one hand sliding underneath your shirt onto bare skin, thumb lightly dragging over the scar of raised flesh on your side.
“Besides,” he murmurs, lips still attached to your neck. You can feel the slightest kiss of teeth. “Satoru makes more of a mess than the kids. It’s only right that he cleans up after himself.”
“Hey!” The sound erupts from behind the door.
You should’ve known.

“I’m so sorry,” you bemoan.
Ten minutes prior, Nanako had run into the kitchen, brush in hand and horrified, ("Papa, something's burning!"), then she had looked at you, brightened in understanding, and called back into the hall: “Everything’s alright guys!”
Satoru looks over at the unrecognizable charred pieces of salmon on the stove top, face unreadable. Then he shrugs and drops a light kiss on your nose. “You tried.”
You hide your face in your hands.
You also pretend not to see Satoru discreetly handing Megumi a pack of bills as the kids shuffle out the door for school.
