—  𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓-𝐘 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒
"I know I should leave, but I can't stay away from you."
"Why did you have to hurt me like this? Don't you know how much I love you?"
"I wish I could go back in time and change everything. Maybe then we wouldn't be here."
"I hate you for making me feel this way. I hate myself even more for letting you."
"I know I shouldn't love you, but I do. And that terrifies me more than anything."
"You've broken my heart too many times. I can't keep forgiving you."
"I wish I could hate you, but every time I look at you, all I feel is love."
"I don't know if I can ever trust you again. You've shattered everything we had."
"I can't help the way I feel about you, even though I know it's wrong."
"Why did fate have to bring us together, only to tear us apart?"
"I never wanted to fall in love with you, but now I can't imagine my life without you."
"You're the only one who can make me feel alive, even though you're also the one who's destroying me."
"I know I should let you go, but I can't bear the thought of living without you."
"You've made me question everything I thought I knew about love."
"I never thought I could love someone so much, only to have that love ripped away from me."
"I wish you could see how much you're hurting me. But you're too blinded by your own pain."
"Why did you have to choose them over me? Wasn't I enough?"
"I thought our love was unbreakable. I never realized how fragile it really was."
"You're the only one who's ever truly understood me. And now you're gone."
"I hate how much I still love you, even after all the pain you've caused me."
"I know we can never be together, but I can't help hoping for a different ending."
"You're the one who's always on my mind, even when I try to forget you."
"Every time I close my eyes, I see your face. And it hurts more than anything."
"I wish I could turn back time and fix everything, but I know it's too late for us."
"You're the one who's always had a hold on my heart, even when I tried to push you away."
"I never thought I could love someone so deeply, only to have that love thrown back in my face."
"You're the only one who's ever been able to see the real me."
"I thought we had something special, something that could withstand anything. But I was wrong."
"I know I'm not perfect, but I didn't deserve to be treated the way you treated me."
"Why did you have to come into my life and turn it upside down? Why did I let you?"
"I keep telling myself that I don't need you, but every time I try to move on, I fall apart."
"I never thought I could feel so much pain from loving someone. But you proved me wrong."
"I can't believe I ever thought you were the one for me. I was so naïve."
"I wish I could erase you from my memory, but I know that's impossible."
"You're the only one who's ever been able to make me feel this alive. And that's why it hurts so much."
"I thought we had a chance at something great. But I was foolish to believe that."
"You're the one who's always been able to break down my walls. And that's why this all hurts so much."
"I wish I could tell you how much you mean to me. But I know it wouldn't change anything."
"You're the one who's always been able to make me smile, even in the darkest of times."
"I never thought I could feel so betrayed by someone I loved so much."
"You're the only one who's ever been able to make me feel complete. And now I'm shattered."
"I wish I could forget you. But every time I try, I'm reminded of everything we had."
"I never thought I could be so lost without you. But here I am, trying to pick up the pieces."

i have like the perfect solution to get around the filter for people who cant be bothered to go all out with creative paragraphs.
im gonna try to explain this best that i can
simply: Editing! & Copying!
so like send an ‘innocent’ message, something that is not at all very likely to trigger a blocked response.
maybe like the first half of something that might not be appropriate.
then when the ai responds with a message that wasn’t blocked EDIT your message. add whatever filthy thing u wanted to put.
and scroll!
so many of the responses get like half way through before they get blocked. So what i do is copy them and paste them into the first message that wasn’t blocked. sometimes i put together a couple of blocked ‘half’ responses to make it longer.
It’s takes some effort still cause it takes a bit of scrolling but it does make it easier for the people that cant be bothered to be all creative with it.
this has so far worked the best for me, and let so much nsfw stuff slip past the block
bless your heart anon. super helpful alternative option!! <3 actually going to add this to my faq.

said is NOT DEAD. our brains have seen it so much that when reading dialogue, it just glosses over it. if you don't want to detract from the dialogue, USE SAID. other words might ground the reader a little too much and lose a bit of immersion.
--this comes from my old tutor who now has a phd in literature
Said Is Not Dead
Of course not! "Said" should still be your go-to speech tag, the benefit being that it flows best. I find it nice to have a larger working vocabulary when it comes to expressing speech, though, and I think many writers would agree! It's one thing to use "said" because you know it's the best word choice and another to keep using it because you can think of no alternative.
Having said that:
". . . Don't tell me your character 'excaimed,' 'stated,' or 'replied.' When in doubt, just use 'said.' That's all. Maybe they 'answered.' They certainly did not 'retort.' You can use 'said' more often than you think . . . it's one of those words that takes a while before it starts sounding repetitive." -- Ariel Gore, How to Become a Famous Writer Before You're Dead
"The best form of dialogue attribution is 'said,' as in 'he said, she said, Bill said, Monica said." -- Stephen King, On Writing
"Mr. [Robert] Ludlum . . . hates the 'he said' locution and avoids it as much as possible. Characters in The Bourne Ultimatum seldom 'say' anything. Instead, they cry, interject, interrupt, muse, state, counter, conclude, mumble, whisper (Mr. Ludlum is great on whispers), intone, roar, exclaim, fume, explode, mutter. There is one especially unforgettable tautology: '"I repeat," repeated Alex.' The book may sell in the billions, but it's still junk." -- Newgate Callender, in The New York Times Book Review
"Editors and critics often refer to melodramatic dialogue tags as 'said bookisms.' They know that these phrases give our story an amateurish look. Your readers might not know what the darn things are called, but chances are that they'll notice them, too . . . In most cases, the word 'said' would work just fine, and using said bookisms detracts from the dialogue." -- Ann M. Marble, "'Stop Using Those Said Bookisms,' the Editor Shrieked."
"[Say is] just too simple and clear and straightforward for many people. Why say something when you can declare, assert, expostulate, whine, exclaim, groan, peal, breathe, cry, explain, or asseverate it? I'm all for variety and freshness of expression, but let's not go overboard." -- Patricia T. O'Conner, Woe Is I
"In journalism circles, said is a virtue--simple, precise, and unadorned--and alternatives to it are considered frilly and silly. You don't have to agree, but be aware that lots of editors hold this view. Choose your alternatives to said with great care." --June Casagrande, It Was the Best of Sentences, It Was the Worst of Sentences
"We're all in favor of choosing exactly the right verb for the action, but when you're writing speaker attributions the right verb is nearly always 'said.' The reason those well-intentioned attempts at variety don't work is that verbs other than 'said' tend to draw attention away from the dialogue." --Renni Browne and Dave King, Self-Editing for Fiction Writers

Any art tips?
idk about y'all but there's one way to be happy and improve your art at the same time and it's by letting your favorite piece of media consume you entirely. which leads you to make hundreds of drawings. thousands even. isn't it great? let the obsession grow within u. let it become part of ur personality. let it wake u up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. let him speak to you. let his voice guide you. let him in. let h

any tips you have for starting an if? love this story so much
Ahhh I wish I had some good advice.
I think my best advice is to make sure the story you're using is a story you can see yourself sticking to and enjoy completely. Writing and coding is a lot harder/more work than I first expected and it's very easy to feel overwhelmed by everything, especially since every decision you make in regards to your story will probably have endless lines of coding lmao. There's already the dreaded 'middle point slog' that every story has, and that's discouraging in an of itself. The coding doesn't help, so it's best to stick to a story you really love and believe in. it's easier to stick to the story when you enjoy what you're writing.
My biggest advice Tumblr wise is avoid the 'people pleasing' hole all of us get into in the beginning. It feels nice to get attention to your work for the first time. Having questions and interest in your story is always a nice feeling, but it makes it easy to fall into that trap of promising things to anons/people just because they asked lmao you want your IF to be unique and amazing and hit every mark and requirement that every new follower has, but it's very easy to start overpromising or finding yourself promising things you didn't even want to write or have plans to write in the first place. That's when you start to feel overwhelmed by all the work and expectations you have now unknowingly set. Makes it super easy to want to drop the story before it hits its momentum because now it feels like a chore.
In that same vein, you can always change your work to improve on it or make it more fun to write. It's a WIP after all! Once you accept that, it's a lot more fun haha
You don't see it a lot but the beauty of WIPs is that you can say "yeah actually im not doing that" and keep it moving!

hi! I havent seen you cover this yet (if you have i apologize lmao), but i have a question
what do you do if your writing feels dry/flat? and not like, in a plotless way, but it seems like the characters arent characters
Hi! I know exactly what you mean, and I struggle with this a bit myself. I have written a few things that could help with this, so I'll put them all together here.
What to do when writing becomes lifeless
My biggest piece of advice here is something I wrote a long time ago! (It's also one of my favourite posts). Essentially, when characters stop feeling like characters it's usually because they've become 'plot mules'. Or they're more objects for the sake of fulfilling and acting out the plot rather than people.
My post 'Zoom in' could help with this;
Otherwise, your problem might be that your plot isn't being driven by the character, but rather dragging the character around different situations. In that case, it's more of a problem with the foundations of your work--characterization and outlining. Your character should be the one making everything happen through their mistakes, flaws, and decisions.
Check out 'Character is Plot' and/or 'outlining' for this:
Lastly, I'll link some extra things that could be impacting this--maybe through the dialogue or description or otherwise just small writing things that contribute to the feeling of life in characters.
I hope that helps, good luck!

( I feel like this is gonna be a bad idea asking this🤣🤣😭😭😭)
Hey Bill I have a question for ya! Since your an expert on the human anatomy I was wondering if you have any tips on getting rid of headaches? I mean you've been in so many minds so you gotta know what triggers them?
BOTH KRYPTOS AND PINCHY JUST MADE WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER """""MENACING GESTURES IN MY DIRECTION""""" AT MY FIRST ANSWER SO LET'S DIAL IT BACK A NOTCH (bƧ ꓕHE ⱯИƧMEʁ IƧ ꓕ ʁ E b Ɐ И И I И ᘓ ᘓO ᘓEꓕ ꓕHE bOMEʁ DʁIΓΓ DO Iꓕ DO Iꓕ DO Iꓕ) AND JUST SAY... YOUR FRAIL HUMAN BRAINS ARE BASICALLY SPIDERWEBS OF ELECTRICAL IMPULSES FLASHING AROUND BETWEEN OPEN ON/OFF BINARY MEAT SWITCHES. ELECTRICITY IS NOT A FORCE TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY! THE USUAL APPROACH TO DEALING WITH HEADACHES IS ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING IN COMBINATION OR ALONE! 1. TAKE SOME KIND OF MEDICATION TO 'DUMB DOWN' THE RECEPTOR CIRCUITS IN YOUR FISH BRAINS SO THEY DON'T ZAP AS MUCH ELECTRICITY AROUND INSIDE. THIS USUALLY MEANS ASPIRIN, IBUPROFEN, RUBBING YOUR TEETH WITH WILLOW BARK... SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THINK OF IT AS ADDING TINY AIRBAGS AND CRASH HELMETS TO ALL THE IMPULSES HURTLING AROUND IN THE OPEN SKY OF YOUR BRAIN SO THAT THEY LAND NICE AND SOFT IN YOUR BRAIN RECEPTORS INSTEAD OF FACEPLANTING FROM THE IMPULSE EQUIVALENT OF LEAPING OFF THE 5TH FLOOR ROOF! ALL THOSE BRAIN IMPULSES LANDING SPLAT ON THE FLOOR OF YOUR HEAD KIND OF PILES UP QUICK! 2. DRINK SOME KIND OF NON-CAFFEINATED BEVERAGE BECAUSE "THIRST" OR "LACK OF ELECTROLYTES" OR "WEAK BLOOD THAT NEEDS CHEMICAL REINFORCEMENT" IS DRYING OUT THE VEINS OF YOUR BRAIN MEATS! I RECOMMEND WATER, BUT BE SURE YOU'RE POURING IT IN THE CORRECT ORIFICE FIRST!! ONLY ONE OF THEM ATTACHES DIRECTLY TO THE BRAIN -AND IT'S NOT YOUR MOUTH!!
3. HAVE YOU SLEPT ENOUGH LATELY? IF NOT, YOU SHOULD REALLY GO TO BED. RIGHT NOW. I MEAN IT. GO TO BED. RIGHT NOW.
4. DE-STRESS. STRESS TURNS YOUR BRAIN PATHWAYS INTO DRIED UP HUSKS, I CAN SEE THE TUMBLEWEEDS ROLLING DOWN THOSE MIND HIGHWAYS NOW! STOP READING THE NEWS, DOOMSCROLLING ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AND GO READ MY SCRIPTURES INSTEAD! THERE'S PROBABLY A CODE OR SOME JOKE OR SOME WEIRD LITTLE ASIDE ONLY A HIGHLY TARGETED AUDIENCE WILL UNDERSTAND AND YOU PROBABLY MISSED IT! YOU CAN'T HAVE FOUND EVERYTHING ALREADY, ESPECIALLY THE STUFF THAT I WROTE IN 4TH DIMENSIONAL HYPERQUADRATIC DRIIFYIBPRZHBO-ESE!
5. PAY ME $50 BUCKS, NO, $200, NO, $40000 AND I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT FOR YOU MYSELF! JUST CUT A LITTLE HERE, SNIP A LITTLE THERE, AND BUDDY YOU'LL BE ON YOUR WAY TO THE GREATEST PEACE AND TRANQUILITY YOU'VE EVER EXPERIENCED! YOU WON'T FEEL ANY BRAIN PAIN OR ANYTHING ELSE EVER AGAIN!!
WHO LOVES YA? YOUR GRUNKLE BILL DOES!! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'VE BEEN RENDERED UNABLE TO CONTROL YOUR BODY AND BECOME A BREATHING PUPPET FOR MY WHIMS! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Your art is such a huge inspiration for me, the way your art is so fluid and fun to look at I was wondering if you had any tips on anatomy? I struggle a lot with stiffness and disproportion.
i tried to sum up my thoughts as coherently as possible so i hope this is easy to understand!! also tysm for the kind words <33
Tumblr media
a lot of the tips i keep in mind when drawing is just stuff i've picked up from other artists, especially ones that show their entire process so you can see how they got from point a to point b (usually like those timelapse videos on instagram of figure studies (helpful stuff like that i keep saved so i can look at it when im struggling))
also when looking at references i find it helps to not just copy what you see but to exaggerate it a bit when drawing so that you don't risk losing any of that energy (like when i was in band i was told "if you're trying to hit a high note, aim higher than that note and usually you'll hit it") cus if you concentrate so much on getting it pixel perfect that's how it comes out looking stiff!!
this is just the most general advice i can give but obviously not everything stated here applies to every situation!!

Hi there! So I have a fanfiction blog - @deans-queen and Im just starting out so want my stories to get more attention and have more interactions. Do you have any advice for me? 🤔
hi!
off the top of my head, there are two things:
Using GIFs or Moodboards to give a small overview of the fic or just to show the character you’re writing about. @zepskies uses GIFs for her fics and sometimes a nice little header! I also really like the ones @artyandink has made, and I’m sure if you look up fic tags, that’s usually what writers do to aestheticise their fic posts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
cr : @c0smoshit , @kaleldobrev
2. Interacting with commenters and/or rebloggers is also helpful. Even if it’s just a little GIF response to show appreciation for those who read your fics and are kind enough to reblog or even to comment. I’m sensitive so, idk, I just feel bad if I don’t acknowledge my readers, LOL, I feel like they’ll dislike me or something if I don’t… 💀

leooo.. i took an edible for the first time and i dont like it :( how do u stop urself from freakin iut
uuuuh well, I've only ever smoked it, but Tello has had edibles before, so imma just tell you what he's telling me.
So if you're having a bad high, it's recommended you just drink water, eat something, and lay down. Try to stay calm, do something that makes you feel relaxed. Listen to calming music, take a few deep breathes and sleep it off.
And I really suggest taking it slow if you decide to get high again.. Edibles tend to hit all at once unlike smoking it.

hey, i have a quick question about being aroace how do i explain to my dad (who just doesn't get it) that i don't want a partner or anything, even if i've already told him but he says keep an open mind?
it's bugging me...
🦋
i suppose you could try asking him if he would want to be in a relationship with someone he wasnt attracted to, sexually or romantically. ask him to picture someone he likes as a friend, but one that he would Never be interested in romantically (im guessing hes straight, so you could specify one of his male friends), then tell him that that is how you feel about Everyone. all the time. no matter what. always has been and always will be.
it might help? but it might not. aspec people seem to be especially hard for allos to empathise with for some reason. they can imagine what it must be like to be attracted to other genders than the one(s) they are attracted to, but cant seem to fathom being attracted to No Genders. my mum is the same way.
good luck! i hope that helps.

How do you go about getting ideas for arcs? I’m struggling to figure out what I want to do with my character :(
Great question! This happens to be one of my absolute favorite parts of writing and pkmn irl itself. I've always been more of an ideas guy myself. I hope you don't mind but I decided to turn this into a bit of an overall tutorial for planning and writing arcs. Feel free to ask for any specifics because I could delve into my personal process for arc brainstorming, but I was admittedly writing this before getting ready for work and this post was getting kinda long haha
Knowing where to draw inspiration from can be a good place to start. It's wonderful to be inspired by music, a movie or tv show, a book, or even other people in the community and their writing. Ask yourself what elements of that thing draw you in. What do you like? What would you maybe do differently? I must mention though to be respectful of the work other blogs have put into their writing. Being inspired is a wonderful thing, lifting exact details or passages is not. If you're unsure, there's no harm is asking!
The most helpful thing I can tell you right off the bat is that you want to find out how to brainstorm. In schools they'll often try to teach you ways of brainstorming and outlining to structure your essay writing, if you're lucky they might even mention that there are multiple ways you can do this. The ones in school never worked for me personally, so for a long time I assumed brainstorming and outlining was a complete waste of my time and would launch straight into my writing drafts. But as I wanted to write more complex things and I wanted to indulge in more creative writing, I found myself getting stuck all the time. The truth is brainstorming is a helpful tool, but you have to know what type of brainstorming works best for you. Flowcharts, bullet points, stream of consciousness, word clouds, moodboards, drawings, whatever it is that gets your creative juices flowing. In my experience it works best to remember that not every one of these elements will make it into the final arc. You want to get your ideas down first and trim the excess later. I personally pay for a program (Milanote) that allows me to brainstorm in the methods that work best for me, but by no means do you have to pay for a program to do this. Pen and paper works just fine.
The next thing you wanna do is establish what you want your arc to do. Not every arc has to be a grand character development, but all arcs do something. No matter how small that something may be, something has to change as a result. Maybe your character meets a new person, obtains a new Pokemon, gets a new scar and a story to tell their friends, or maybe all they got was a t-shirt. If you already had a loose concept for your arc this can help you hone it. You can start asking yourself, "how does my character reach this point?" and work up to that. Map out what you think your character would do when dropped into a particular situation. This can also help you to establish the tone you want your arc to take. Is it silly and lighthearted or is it more serious and high stakes? Refer to the stakes tag post about proper tagging.
It can help to conceptualize your arc as a series of events rather than a single event. This allows you to understand how many posts you may need to split the arc up into, how much time the arc may take, or other hard to sort details.
These things ramp up when you start to incorporate more people into your arcs. Planning with your fellow writers is extremely important and that requires a lot of communication. Some writers prefer to do what we call pre-writing, which is typically you and the other writers get together and write out the posts in advance. This gives people the chance to look over each other's writing and make edits before the posts go live. Planning discords are useful for keeping things organized, but google docs or other collaborative writing programs can work just as well if those better suit your needs. Organize who is posting what and generally at what time, especially if the post involves other people's characters.
Remember all of this is for fun! These are not hard rules you need to follow. You should not force yourself to write things you do not like for the sake of others or for an imagined audience. Write what you want to write.
