successfully installed my ac in UNDER FIFTEEN MINUTES and for the FIRST time did not have to use ANY duct tape because i THOUGHT AHEAD and several weeks ago asked my FRIEND who is a WOODWORKER to SLIGHTLY MODIFY A SMALL PIECE OF WOOD that my stepdad made for me (badly) ten years ago to hold my ac exhaust in place and it is WORKING as i INTENDED IT TO several weeks ago WHEN I ASKED MY FRIEND THE WOODWORKER TO PERFORM THIS SMALL MIRACLE FOR ME!!!

Ugly sobbing in bed at 3am because I took a shower earlier and when I finished there was a dead cockroach next to my foot that wasn't there when I got in and because I sat down to eat afterwards and then I saw this huge alive motherfucker on my chair and it started flying around the apartment and tried to fly at me.

I managed to get the alive one out and the dead one is still on the floor of my shower and I'm too scared to try and move it because I'm scared it's actually alive and also because it's literally massive and I cannot touch it.

Yeah anyways did not expect to get a full on panic attack because of a goddamn cockroach. I don't usually have such a big issue with them. But here we are.

I debated waiting to see if someone requested this prompt first, but I decided that I didn't want to just wait and see if I got a chance to write it. So here's one of the OTP moment prompts, which also takes place in the asexual!Martijn AU I'm working on.

This got super long (~1.5k words) in the process of writing it so I'm adding a cut.

17. Painting each other's nails

Martijn couldn't help feeling a little embarassed about this, hence why he was planning on staying in the seclusion of Lando's flat for the day. He didn't plan to go out like this in public.

But he'd seen his sister doing this while he was visiting, painting her nails, and when she'd offered to do his as well, he'd thought it looked fun and agreed. The color she'd picked had been a bit too bright for his taste, so he'd cleaned it off later that evening.

He'd liked the polish in general, though. It was fun to see a little pop of color whenever he moved his hands. So he'd asked his sister to loan him a few colors to take with him to Monaco. He'd promised to bring them all back and not completely deplete any of them. She hadn't batted an eye at his request and happily loaned him a whole bunch of shades, and asked him for a review when he gave them back.

He hadn't told her why he'd asked for these colors specifically. But given that it was currently June, and flags of every color were being flown by countless people, he wouldn't be surprised if she figured it out on her own, even though he hadn't worked up the courage to come out to his family yet.

His brow wrinkled in focus as he carefully brushed a bit of white polish onto his left pinkie. He was starting with the lightest color first, so that if he somehow messed up and made it look streaky or uneven, he could always throw on a layer of black and no one would ever know. He'd painted a few other fingers as well - this was the last one he was going to use white on.

He had gray, purple, and black polish pulled out as well. His sister had sent two extra shades of gray and four shades of purple, since he hadn't been too specific. It did mean he could mix and match or blend colors if he wanted to, so that was nice.

He was so absorbed in his work that he didn't even realize Lando had returned from the store until he heard the thunk of a bag on the counter. Startled, he briefly considered trying to hide all of the polish, embarrassed about indulging in it. He'd specifically waited for Lando to leave before trying it. He'd wanted a chance to clean it all up if it hadn't worked out, and had been afraid of getting caught in the middle of it. He didn't think Lando would poke fun at him for it, but what if he did?

But . . . he didn't really want to hide it. He liked it. And it felt like a fun way to express himself, especially the part of himself that he was still afraid to share openly with anyone but Lando.

So when Lando stepped through the door a minute later, Martijn didn't try to hide what he was doing. And when he saw Lando's smile, he wondered why he'd ever felt nervous about doing this around him. Of course Lando wouldn't bat an eye at him using nail polish. Reflecting on it, he had sisters, too, so there was probably a chance he'd been roped into painting his own nails by siblings before.

"Where'd you get that?" Lando asked, plopping down into a seat across from him. His eyes were wide and excited, like a little kid who had just discovered a new toy or craft to get their hands on.

Martijn tried to ignore the warmth that he felt flood his face. "My sister. I saw her using it and, uh, wanted to try it out myself." He put away the brush for the white polish - the layer was clean enough that he decided to leave it to dry before he smudged it - and lined up his gray options. He still wasn't sure which shade to go with.

Lando scanned the colors Martijn had laid out, and smiled. "I like the mix-and-match colors you're doing. Kind of a subtle way to express yourself, yeah?"

Martijn nodded, and couldn't hold back a smile. Lando had been absolutely amazing about his asexuality, helping him figure out his labels and respecting his boundaries. Martijn remembered being terrified that Lando would leave once he learned that he was different, in a way that Martijn had always thought was a relationship-killer. Instead, Lando had helped him find a facet of his identity he'd never been able to name before, and it felt like their love had only gotten deeper. They didn't need to make love every night to know that they were loved, truly and deeply, by the other.

He started to reach for the gray polish, but Lando beat him to it. "Here, I can do it if you want. That way you only have to worry about keeping your hands still, yeah?"

Martijn wasn't going to turn down a helping hand, and he definitely wasn't going to turn down an excuse to have Lando hold his hand. Lando picked up one of the gray bottles and unscrewed the cap, then tugged Martijn's hand closer. Martijn had to fight the urge to sigh dreamily as Lando held his hand delicately, and began to paint.

Lando's impressive hand-eye coordination apparently applied to painting nails too, because he applied clean layers of smooth color to each nail without making a single drip or spill. He asked for Martijn's input on which nails to paint which color, but other than that, he was silent and focused, his tongue occasionally poking out and nose scrunching in concentration. Martijn couldn't help finding him supremely adorable.

When Lando was done, he gently released Martijn's hands with a smile. "There we go, all done. What do you think?"

Martijn spread his fingers, looking at the alternating colors of white, gray, purple, and black. They were clean and perfect. "I love it. Thank you."

Lando smiled, and leaned across the table to peck his cheek. Martijn only saved him from knocking over a bottle of polish by meeting him halfway.

When he leaned back, he blew on his fingers for a few moments. The polish already felt half-dry, so it shouldn't take much longer for it to fully dry.

He was startled when Lando reached for a bottle and pulled it his way. "What are you . . ?"

"I wanna do mine, too," he said simply. He'd picked up two bottles of purple and was comparing them, squinting his eyes like that would make the colors reveal their secrets. "I like the way they look on you!"

"Are you going out later?" Martijn asked. The two of them hadn't planned to go anywhere this evening, but there were still enough hours left in the afternoon that they had time to go out before dinner if they wanted or needed to. And if Lando was spotted with painted nails, that would definitely draw attention.

Lando shook his head, though. "Nah, I've got nothing else planned today. Just the two of us at home for the rest of the evening. And I've got nothing to do tomorrow, either!" He pulled three bottles of purple his way and opened up the first. "Which means I can make us match and we can keep the polish on for a while. Ace colors for you, bi colors for me!"

Martijn's face split with a warm grin. Maybe neither of them could come out publicly yet, but this was still a way to feel happy and comfortable with who they were.

Lando opened up a bottle of polish that was bluish-purple, but Martijn beat him to grabbing the brush. "Here, let me."

Lando tried to protest, but given that he was already holding his hand out for him, Martijn could tell he wasn't really going to protest much. "Hey, I can do it, I don't mind. And your nails still have to finish drying."

"They're dry enough. And I'll be careful," Martijn promised. He wasn't about to carelessly mess up Lando's work. He tugged Lando's hand closer for a moment to kiss his fingers. "You made me look pretty, now let me make you look pretty."

Lando blushed shyly, and let Martijn brush the color onto his nails. He used the bluish-purple bottle, a rich violet, and a shade of purple with a bit of a magenta tint. It wasn't a perfect match to the bi flag, but it was close enough and still looked pretty.

When he was all done and all of the polish had been put away, he moved to share Lando's seat and squirmed his way into his lap. Lando giggled and hugged him close, kissing his cheek again. He clasped Martijn's hand and spread it on his thigh, laying his hand beside it for comparison. Their nails were bright and cheerful, Lando's in magenta and violet, Martijn's in purple and grayscale.

It was nice to show who they were, even if it was just between themselves. They knew they were safe with each other.

He was safe and accepted with Lando. And whatever labels the two of them used, that would never change their love for each other.

So I have a phyical copy of DA: I buut it says on the cover that it needs a hard drive and idk if my secondhand Xbox 360 has a hard drive. None of my other games require a hard drive. I think it does but I'm not sure nor do I know where it would be, if it that's release version of the hard drive or the one someone put in there. The game also has 2 disks and in past experience, games with 2 disks won't play properly. Oblivion has 2 disks but I can't play any of the DLC except Shivering Isles for some reason?? The quest for the Mysterious Door is in my journal but I haven't actually been to the door yet. FrostCrag Spire isn't available at all. I'm playing version 1 of Fallout: New Vegas and I know this cause the cover art armour isn't in the NCR bunker, it's bugged in release version.

The Xbox also keeps asking for an update but idk why it knows it needs an update considering it's not connected to the internet and I think cause this is an older console it needs a LAN cord to be connected to it from the router? Idk. I'm not technologically inclined despite what old folks at work keep saying.
