hi!! i’m so sorry to keep sending you asks (if you get sick of it please just let me know and i’ll shut up i promise!! 💕💕)

so this is re: the cullens being in high school, as per the ask you answered a couple days ago! i also always thought it was super weird, and i’ve been thinking for a while now that a MUCH better cover story would for them all (even carlisle and esme) to be grad school housemates (i say this as someone who has now spent two years in grad school and is about to be there for another five at least lmaoooo)

here’s why i think it would work:

1. the age weirdness wouldn’t be as obvious bc people of all ages go to grad school (i started when i was 22 and had classmates in their 40s)

2. related to age, the visible/physical age also wouldn’t matter as much since some of my classmates (me included 😭😭) looked like we could still pass as high schoolers while others gave off huge “kids and a mortgage vibes” even if they were just like a year older

3. the whole looking “off” and tired thing is just like. the grad school Look™️. the shadows under the eyes and general gaunt-ish appearance honestly wouldn’t stand out that much and if somebody said something about them looking “off” or whatever, they could just be like “late night studying” and the other person would be like “lmao so true bestie”

4. if they pretended they were all renting space in the same big house (and carlisle and esme just acted a little less parental), the whole “dating each other” thing wouldn’t be that weird at all. i feel like it’s not that uncommon for couples who get along to rent different floors or sections of a house, and if they didn’t pretend to be one big weird family situation and instead just acted like they all met each other at school, i don’t think people would even bat an eye

5. people go to grad school forever. like. for so long (i vaguely knew of someone who was in the eighth or ninth year of her phd). esp if they picked something like a big state school where the “kids” could go to undergrad first, they could realistically do four years of undergrad, maybe a two or three year masters, and then a phd of indeterminate length (usually at least five). that would allow them to stay in the same place for at least 11 years

and this is not an official point, but i will note that for carlisle to still do his whole doctor thing, i think it would be perfectly reasonable for him to have already “graduated” or whatever, but continue to stay with his “friends” for financial reasons, or just bc the living situation worked for everyone

anyway, i’m so sorry this was so long, and honestly i bet someone has already said this somewhere before, but it just struck me when reading the “why tf are the cullens in high school” post that grad school would be such a great cover story for them

I've definitely seen "just put them in college!" before (and I have made that argument myself) but I don't know if I've seen the grad school cover story specifically before!

It would allow Esme and/or Carlisle to be the 'peers' of their children rather than some sort of guardian or parental figures. They could, as you said, all be renting a house together and Esme could be studying architecture or getting a PhD in art history or whatever while the kids study who knows what. Maybe there's a medical school as well and Carlisle can go back (it still makes zero sense that Edward and Rosalie go "to keep him current' like how is that supposed to work? They come home and just recite from perfect vampire memory everything that happened in calls? Wouldn't Carlisle be keeping current by like, idk, actually being a doctor, reading journals, going to conferences, and continuing education?).

A group of friends renting a house together as a bunch of couples makes way more sense than two parents barely visibly older than their foster/adopted kids who all date each other.

And, honestly, it's probably a better use of their time to get actual advanced degrees rather than stopping at undergrad? I know because of secrecy how they use their knowledge and skills is somewhat fraught but like, publish papers under a false name or let someone else take the credit or something and you can still contribute to the world of academia.

Idk how your blog works so feel free to ignore and delete this ask but I have some thoughts I'd like your take on

So platonic yandere Miguel with a teen reader who's crushing on a villain from her universe (im a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope </3). And villain reciprocates feelings but is obviously evil (i can't fix them I'll love them for it) so Miguel HATES it even more.

And I'm imagining that villain is also a yandere so there's just gonna be so much drama like AHDISHDUSHD

But yes this idea has been bouncing around in my head alot

so, I was thinking of something earlier, and, I forgot to grab a screenshot of it, but, extremely incredibly minor ATSV spoiler, when Miles is being shown the holograms of the Spiderverse, another series of canon events that is shown is every Spider having some sort of Symbiote experience (as in Venom, which, I have to admit, I'm uh, not extremely knowledgeable on Spiderman lore, I've been out of the game with this series since like grade school, I used to be big on DC and TMNT and hero shit, so, yeah)

Reader is just crushing on like, some evil Eddie Brock or some bad boy with a Symbiote, and dedicated/obsessive Papá Miguel instantly recognizes when your moods and behaviors start to change, more rebellious, more moody, you're becoming a bit more assertive, but not always in the good way, you're hurting people, maybe even stealing and other petty crimes. He presses you on who you've been hanging out with because APPARENTLY you've been sneaking off your watch so you can't inherently be tracked or spied on or contacted

Some drama ass shit like, Miguel has been trying to reach you because you both have some sort of really sentimental or important date coming up, maybe the anniversary of when he first met you or your birthday or his birthday where you both were supposed to do something nice together, something that's been planned and talked about for ages, and then, this rebellion stuff begins and, the date comes and you completely ghost him, he can't find you, contact you, he's frustrated and angry but also worried because what if you're hurt? What if his baby girl is HURT 🥺 SURELY that's the ONLY reason you wouldnt show up and break your poor stressed beloved daddy's heart liks this 🥺 and he finally finds you and you're totally fine, it's just like "haha sorry 'dad' I was getting railed by my evil big tall hunky villain boyfriend and also I have a Symbiote now, look at my spooky black costume, im evil now :)" and here's Miguel like "NOOO PRINCESA 😭😱✝️", but, technically he's only able to interfere in certain ways, like, maybe he can pressure you to break up with this guy but your Symbiote is canon and whether you defeat it and get rid of it or somehow master it and befriend it like say Ghost Spider, that isn't up to him, he can only pressure you but he can't MAKE you do anything, at least, not directly

You're running around having your rebellious Evil Girl Autumn and he's trying to, you know, steer you back onto the path of righteousness and all that and the harder he tries to control you the angrier you're getting until you're even losing your temper and throwing things at him or eventually physically attacking him (to which he's forced to overpower you which, you two have sparred before but this is different and it breaks his heart). You throw your watch at him and tell him to go fuck himself, that you hate him, that you never want to see him again, but you're crying and he takes this as a sign you aren't serious (which, you aren't, not 100% completely, you kinda lowkey ARE having a huge temper tantrum and rebellious phase and being a criminal brat, but, like.... spiderverse babyyyy we got Spider powers, shit has no consequences, or so it feels like to you at the time, and the Symbiote is maybe questionably evil and corrupting your thoughts)

Oh I just realized you said teen reader and here I am talking about getting railed 💀 maybe the villain is a teen too or just a few years older than you but either way like. Miguel doesn't want his sweet innocent pure virginal baby girl having sex! With anyone! Especially before marriage! (Although i was hearing he's kind of a slut in the comics?) He ever finds that shit out it's like, A CRISIS EVENT. He's like that one stereotype of brothers/fathers who hate seeing their sister/daughter date because that's the baby the raised/grew up with. Picture having an argument with him and you're just trying to piss him off and like, it's true but in anger you say "OH YEAH? oh YEAH??? Well, well, you know how you hate Hobie Brown so much?! We've been dating JUST TO MUTUALLY SPITE YOU, and you know what, i actually like him, and he likes me! Maybe we'll hook up for real! Maybe I'll FUCK HIM, DAD :) maybe we'll HAVE A BABY TOGETHER, DAD :)"

Like girlie nooooo you're getting put into The Biggest Time-Out The Multiverse Has Ever Seen. You think getting locked up in a room would be bad, NO, because at least you'd have some vague sense of privacy and personal space. You're now on 24/7 Daughter Duty, with him literally all the time except for, bathing and that stuff. He's dragging you around, making you accompany him, controlling what you're allowed to do, really an extended prolonged punishment. Hss making you sit in his office or whatever while he works and you'll be absolutely fucking bored out of your mind because you're basically given nothing to do, have no phone, no tasks really. He's not outright hurting or abuse you but it's a kind of psychological burden for you, but from his perspective he's just, basically guarding you like a dedicated father, protecting his baby from tarnishing her reputation, her body, and otherwise when he isn't there. CLEARLY he has a lot more fathering to give you than he originally thought

I know it's been exactly two days since I said that I would be taking a break, but I realized I never really got to elaborate on a few things regarding Noah (The Narrator) and Ford (Timekeeper)'s appearance in relation to their story, since relaxing for a bit has let me work on proper character stories a bit more.

Um... spoiler for (sort of?) partial nudity, they're full body sketches but rest assured, nothing explicit is showing, everything sensitive is covered up, and it's in no suggestive way! It's important because it does go in-line with their story.

And if I see any of you being weird about Ford again I will personally and publicly call you out on my blog

Stanley's being left out here, at least this time, because there's really nothing special about his appearance despite his goofy little dot eyes.

So, what are we looking at?

Noah has a partial-body scar across the left side of his torso and his left upper arm! Back when he was completely human (yes, he really was once fully human!) He attempted to fully dedicate himself to his writing and storytelling as a part-time author, in a world technologically advanced enough to have closed trial runs and proofs of concept when it came to an experimental machine that, in all aspects, was a bit like a sensory chamber mixed with full-body VR inside a computer and the Internet; the only thing separating it from modern tech was that it was a lot bigger and more clunky than the VR headsets we have in this day and age.

Being a man with a soul-sucking 9 to 5 who just barely got by on money to have a nice apartment and some comforts, but who didn't have enough spending money or the apartment space for the giant pods, Noah took to... well, building one himself. He had the blueprints and some experience in building things, how hard could it be?

Well... he certainly did build one. It was EXTREMELY unsafe, but he built one. Hooking himself up, he flipped the power switch without a test run and it had a bit of a shocking result, haha. To put it simply, he did manage to slip into the digital world, but his computer stationed at his left side experienced an electricity surge and completely fried his physical body beyond saving, represented by the scars on his digital self and a slight voltage in his body, enough to dimly light a bulb in his hand. It only takes a bit of appearance tweaking in the files to hide the scars, although they do revert if he's very emotional.

It's interesting to think of how he would've fared if Noah never uploaded his consciousness, but that's a story for another time. The only thing I'd say is that... he'd probably look like this!

Now that we have Noah out of the way, it's Ford time! One thing I never noted with their appearance, due to it being mostly covered up by clothes, is that they have fairly visible stretch marks. What, you really didn't think they were always 8'11", did you? In their "Pre-Parable" look, back when it was an office simulator running basic AI, Ford was much shorter, both in height and hair length.

Due to "unknown" circumstances, though, Noah panicked and tried to delete Ford's code, but the AI caused the files to corrupt in the background, still existing, causing rapid growth to start and their demeanor to become... well, the way it currently is. With the changes happening in such a short time, it's expected that they would have many growth marks to show for it. Their current form, as crazy as it is, is only very early in the corruption, so their body is going to get REALLY fucked up millennia from the story's present if they don't figure a way to keep a hold on it. And to add insult to injury, they blame The Narrator for it all.

What's fun is that, something I never realized until now, the discoloration on Ford's left half perfectly copies Noah's scars! That's fun!

...And if you're asking why I noted Ford having slight shoulder freckles... I just think they're cute, okay?

💻 DCA AU Idea: Digital Horror 💻

This is my first time posting a DCA AU so I’m sorry if my post sounds more like disconnected rambling ahaha 🥲 But here goes!

The DCA duo in a digital horror setting.

Think KinitoPet but instead of Kinito as the mascot of a long-lost pet game, it’s Sun and Moon as the face of an old creature collection/virtual pet game created by Fazbear Corp on their old 90s company, kid-friendly website.

Think like a mix between Pokémon and Neopets, speaking as someone who played too much Pokemon and played literally zero Neopets 👍🏻

One day many years after the website has been shut down, You hear rumors about a “haunted” pet game made by the Fazbear Corp and decide to check it out, because you didn’t watch enough horror movies to know this is a terrible idea :>

The game (archived and run on a server supported by Fazbear fans, I don’t know much about tech so I dunno if this is even possible but whatever) runs like it should when you first enter it. However, it starts acting up when you input your old username…

I might start writing this as a fic once I’m further along on my current fic, so for now I’ll just be dumping my AU ideas on this blog haha

Here’s a summary and a brief snippet I wrote because the idea wouldn’t leave me alone:

Virtual pet game websites are a dime in a dozen. You might’ve tried out one or two in your childhood, but memories of that are fuzzy at best. It’s only when your classmate brings up a particular website hosted by Fazbear Corporation that you begin to remember playing it briefly during its heydays, and you decide to visit it for nostalgia’s sake.

“Welcome to Sun and Moon’s Superstar Daycare!” the computerized voice of the sunny jester character trills. He lounges on top of the window asking you to create a new account, kicking his curly-tipped shoes merrily in the air as he eagerly awaits your input. His bouncy avatar, its details showing hours of love and dedication poured into each brush stroke, paints a hilarious contrast against the shoddy art that makes up the background of the game. You don’t really care, though. It’s not like anyone plays these types of games for its art.

Your hands hover over the keyboard. After a moment’s hesitation, you try to enter your old username.

“Starbite”

Most likely the “Sorry, this username has already been taken” prompt will pop up since you clearly remember using it as a kid, but there’s no harm in trying. You click on the “Confirm” option.

Nothing happens.

Weird. Is it hanging? You click it again, and again. Nothing happens. Even Sun has frozen still. Yep, it’s definitely hanging. Pity, but it’s not too unexpected considering the game’s age. You decide to fall back on the good ol’ cure: spamming the mouse button. clickclickclickclickclickcli

The shock shoots through your whole being like a lightning bolt. You gasp sharply, eyes fluttering close for a brief moment before they’re cast on the computer screen again.

“Welcome back, Starbite!” Sun says. He takes center stage in a field of rudimentarily drawn grass, the baby blue sky matching the bright smile stretching from “ear” to “ear”, like nothing had happened. “Go forth and pick a Faz Pet to be your forever companion, and I hope you enjoy your stay at our esteemed daycare!”

The character delivers his scripted lines like he should.

The character has his arms up in celebration like he should.

The character smiles at you like he should.

So what is this cold dread trickling down your spine…?

Yuno - Rivna, Vilna, Anarchia and Communa were wandering in the forest on one of their little adventures and stumbled onto Wish. the Rats invited it to join them and they spent a day full of fun, showing each other their favorite parts of the forest.

as they were walking back they realized that Wish celebrated its birthday tomorrow, on the same day as Rivna and Vilna! the Rat girls immediately started planning a huge birthday party at the Gray House for the youth of both of their villages. reaching an age where you can start attending school lessons is a huuuge deal after all! however, the Sumrak kitten suddenly got quiet. the Rats asked why it seemed so sad, and upon learning about the lack of educational resources in their village, they were rightfully enraged!

sheepishly, Wish said that they are going to start working some small jobs to gather materials for future kittens of Sumrak to get the opportunity to go to school, like Flick and Sweetie. the Rats were speechless. wow, that's so ****ing sad. they hugged Wish goodbye and hurried back to Sever.

upon returning, the Rats gathered all of the Sever youth and told what they heard. together, they quickly organized a demonstration, shedding light on the plight of their young comrades across the lake. all of the Sever villages chipped in with the materials they had gathered, happy to support the friendly, though at times creepy

**** village. Nezzie was especially touched, bringing all of the paper that he's been saving up for building his circus.

Okay I finally managed to write something ... .I seriously have hit like a writing wall and lost so much writing motivation…BUT I ASSURE YOU I'M TRYING TO GET BACK INTO IT…And I’ve been missing Chelsea so much. So I decided to write about it. And I will be including @twyz’s (Btw totally check out all their AU’s and OCs and art. It’s all Chef's kiss ... .Oh? You thought I was asking? No seriously….Go check it out…I’m not asking…...Haha I’m totally joking about the threatening part…but seriously….If you love eye candy go check out their blog…) OC Gloria aka Chelsea’s older sister for anyone new here. And I will be including Benny because I’ve been missing him as well. Also be aging them up a bit you’ll see why… 

The new school year had recently rolled around, Chelsea the Ray’s youngest daughter now starting high school, now a week in. Something she hadn’t been overly thrilled about, however the youngest saw no point in complaining. School was seen more of a chore than anything, following the repetitive mundane routine. Wake Up, Dress, Breakfast, Head Out the Door, Repeat….Repeat….Repeat…

Thankfully the first week had concluded much to her relief. Gloria, the Rays second youngest, noticed something was wrong with her sister. She had been more tense than usual, normally she’d let it go but she could tell something had been nagging her baby sister and now she needed to know what. 

After dinner, Gloria ventured down the hall down to Chelsea’s room, stopping for a moment to think, staring at the periwinkle door to ground her thoughts. Her blue orbs falling on the old measurement marks slashed across Chelsea’s door frame. The memories of helping her father lineup little Chelsea against the wall struggling to get an accurate height, as the little youngest would fiddle and fidget, stretched a smile along her rosy face. Gently she did her usually two, three, one knock, to let her sister know it was her, waiting for a response.

“Come in Gloria”, Chelsea spoke from her desk.

Gloria made her way in, walking over to her sister peering over her shoulder.

“Algebra?” she smiled placing on Chelsea’s shoulder

“Yep, fun stuff” Chelsea sighed, looking up at her sister.

“You were right, Mr. Lance is a jerk”

“Told ya, the guys are not the nicest or the brightest” she responded.

“Yeah he didn’t take me correcting his math lightly” Chelsea snickered, flashing her sister a toothy grin. 

“Hehe yeah. The guys getting paid to teach and yet he can barely do that” Gloria smiled lightly ruffling Chelsea’s hair.

Gloria hopped onto Chelsea bed lightly tapping the spot beside her. The youngest followed sitting cross legged looking over at her sister.

‘What’s up?”

Gloria took a deep breath, letting it out as she scooted closer to her sister. “Hey you know you can come to me for anything right?”

“Yeah, why? Something wrong?” Chelse questioned, tilting her head.

“Well it’s just since you started school, I’ve noticed that you’ve been….a bit tense…Is everything okay?”

Chelsea gave a curious blink, “Yeah everything fine” she spoke adjusting her bowtie, “probably just school jitters. Sorry if it looks like I’ve been on edge”, Chelsea gave another smile, “and that’ll probably wear off since it’s the weekend. Pa said we’re going over to Uncle Slap’s and hanging out with our cousins. So it should be fun. I’m hoping for a barbeque. And I’ve been wanting to hear the Jamies side of the story about the blowing up the science lab.”

Gloria wasn’t buying it. Not in the slightest, but she knew Chelsea all too well and knew this was the most she was going to get out of her. She gave a supportive smile and nodded, pulling her in close, “Alright then. But remember my rooms right down the hall if you ever wanna talk okay?”

Chelsea, though not one for embraces, smiled and leaned in, “Alright”

“Wait he blew up what?”

Monday had rolled around again, and Gloria decided to keep an eye on her younger sister. Seeing if anything was truly wrong…or perhaps she was just being nosy, and her gut had been off. During lunch she spotted Chelsea sitting with Benny, and a new girl. She took a moment to study. Sandy hair, freckled cheeks, dimples, lime eyes, a light pink blouse, and a headband. She seemed friendly, sitting with the two, only then did she see Chelsea’s body tense, seemingly staring daggers into the newcomer. Gloria noticed the tightening of Chelsea’s lips, a habit she often did when she was annoyed, and the subtle scooching toward Benny. If only she could hear the conversation. 

…

Chelsea suppressed a frown, forcing a friendly grin at the new girl, who had taken a liking to her best friend. A liking she wasn’t fond of. Not to mention this strawberry blonde was a yapper, steering the one-sided conversation every which way. Benny had turned off his hearing aids, and somewhat smiled along, something Chelsea wished she had the power to do. Much like her father she wasn’t a social butterfly, and found herself fantasizing about duct taping the new girl's mouth shut. Her focus only regained at the sight of the new girl leaning closer to Benny and playfully tugging at his shirt. 

“I was so pissed, like , can you even believe that?! And so then my Uncle totally–”

“OKAY!.....Benny and I are going to miss our next block….We should get going”

“Class doesn’t start for another 10 minutes” the girl responded, moving closer to Benny.

“Well I don’t like being late…Earlier the better” Chelsea forced out grabbing Benny's hand and practically dragging the teen to their next class.

“I’ll come!”

Chelsea rolled her eyes, her grip on Benny’s hand tightening as she walked. Benny didn’t mind and quickened his pace, his cheeks slightly blushing at the sudden hand grab.

Luckily the last and most dreadful block arrived. Chemistry. Chelsea was actually quite fond of the subject only she’d be sharing the class with the new girl. And today was a lab, much to her dismay Benny had been paired up with the new girl, and she was paired with the Karen of a neighbor's son, Urhighness. Who thankfully had grown more tolerable throughout the years and his time with the Rays. 

Benny hid a frown that had been tugging at his lips as he now had to endure the new girls rambling and her constant need to be next to him…Practically joined at the him. 

Chelsea now with a set of goggles read the lab report, following the procedure with precise precision, occasionally glancing over at Benny and his lab partner, feeling her grip tighten around her pencil. 

“You okay Chels? Something bugging you?”

Chelsea blinked, snapping from her gaze, “Nope…everything's peachy Ness….”

“....Right…So ya got the test tube?” He commented looking over the lab sheet.

“Yeah sure, here” she said, her eyes back on Benny.

Ness chuckled slightly, shaking his head, “Someone's jealous,” he muttered under his breath.

“Me? Jealous? Please” Chelsea clapped back, shooting him a look. 

“What? Can’t I point out the obvious?”

Chelsea shot him another look, before uttering a comeback she heard the new girl's overly animated bubbly laugh that made her snap her pencil. 

“Way to contaminate the work station, Chels”  he remarked, gently taking her snapped pencil and tossing it out, giving her one of his. 

“You’re upset your boyfriends is clearly being hit on, understandable but can we deal with your drama another day please”

Chelsea squinted, “He’s not my boyfriend he’s my best friend”

“Yeah okay. Keep telling yourself that. Because your face says otherwise. And tell your cousin that I said thanks for blowing up the old science lab, this ones a total upgrade ” he snickered.

Thankfully the end of the school day came, and Gloria, Chelsea, and Benny had decided to walk home together. Benny listened to music through his hearing aids, while the two sisters chatted. 

“So how was school?” Gloria asked,

“Fine”

Gloria’s face fell for a moment, but she quickly recomposed herself before Chelsea could notice, “So I noticed, a new girl sitting with you guys at lunch, what’s her name?” 

Gloria noticed Chelsea’s jaw tighten and body tense, “Cindy, can’t tell if that's her actual name or a nickname.”

“So…you two friends? Or…”

“Not friends. She's more like a tick than anything” Chelsea remarked with a slight glance towards Benny, that didn’t go unnoticed by Gloria. 

“Okay noted…I saw she was close with Ben–” 

“No she’s not. If she was close with him she’d probably bother to ask about him instead of talking about herself for a straight hour”

There was a sore nerve. 

Gloria saw Chelsea’s face flush each time she mentioned Benny. She knew all too well Benny had a crush on Chelsea since the 3rd grade but couldn’t help but smirk at the thought the feeling was now mutual. 

“Okay so she’s full of herself. Just try and avoid her like the plague. Or better yet dump her on Urhighness” 

Chelsea smirked at the idea, “Ya know you might be onto something”

The following week Chelsea managed to get a word out in conversation and mentioned Urhighness, immediately catching Cindy's attention curious as to who he was.

“He should be over– Hey Ness. This is Cindy” Chelsea grinned, motioning to her.

“...Ah yeah Cindy…I’ve heard a lot about you” he responded.

“Oh really? I’m sure they were all good things right Urhighness?”

Ness forced a smile side-eyeing Chelsea, “Many things…And I just go by Ness now…You can drop the Urhigh” he responded, shaking her hand noticing her tight grip. 

“Oh and he also thinks you’re really pretty,” Chelsea smirked, locking eyes with Ness.

“Awww thank you!” She smiled and pulled him into a tight hug.

Ness nervously chuckled, glaring at Chelsea awkwardly returning the hug, silently mouthing “fuck you” 

Chelsea could only smirk, flipping him off.

hi! this ask might get a bit long, sorry in advance, but id like to ask for some general advice. ive been trying to look it up but i havent been able to find a clear answer. so ive been baptised and i recieved communion when i was about eight, but since then my parents stopped going to church and i as a child with them. which means i haven't gone through with (experienced? im not sure how to phrase it) confirmation. do u have any advice for what i should begin with to get on track to becoming a practicing catholic? im going to start going to church as soon as i can but what else is there that i can do? do u have any online beginner websites you recommend for theology? and how do i approach the priest to ask about confirmation? just thinking about it makes me nervous and overwhelmed haha. im 18 btw. anyway thank you your blog always makes me laugh!

I cannot give you any specific advice since I don’t know you and I am not your priest. I will say, it’s not as overwhelming as you think it’ll be.

For me, I went through the same experience. I was confirmed as an adult after receiving communion around the age of 10. I just contacted my parish and let them know that I would like to go through RCIA. They told me what time the classes would be, etc etc. I was confirmed maybe three months later.

You said you are 18. If you’re in high school, they may recommend regular high school confirmation. Again, if I was you I would just bite the bullet and contact the closest parish and ask how I can get confirmed.

Hi, there! I'm @jnix-2006 and welcome to my ask blog, ask-commander-arild!! I made this blog for @pkmoth's @motherbound-askapalooza, and I plan on participating the entire month of August, but if it does well, I may continue it!! But, bear with me, because I don't use tumblr much, so this is all very new to me, haha. Before we start, I feel I should give a little bit of introduction to what exactly this is. So, firstly, what exactly is an Arild? Well, Arild is an OC I created for the game Mother 3 (Heavy spoilers btw)! He can be seen below!

Say hello to Arild Eskildsen! A young Norwegian lad of 15 years old who, through a series of unfortunate events, was once a pigmask. I know his design may look a little... 2015, but the design quite literally came to me in a dream, and I would've been stupid not to use it. Now, as much as I'd love to go into detail about his backstory, I wanna save most of it for the asks. I guess the most basic gist is that he was taken from our time, currently in the 2010's but may change later, from a very young age, and made to be a pigmask. Yippee, child soldier! He goes on to be promoted to captain. But after yet another unfortunate event, he ends up being chimera-ified and he gets promoted to commander, but not of the pigmasks... Of what, you ask? Well, we'll get there. For now, here's him as a captain!

Few things to keep in mind for this blog:

1. I don't have many artistic abilities, unfortunately, so this will be a text only blog. Some friends have kindly made a few pieces for Arild, and I will show them off, but for the most part, there won't be much in the way of visuals. If you feel like making art of him, feel free! I would actually love to see it!!

2. Quite a lot of the stuff here is going to involve my own headcanons for the Mother series, especially post-game Mother 3. For example, in my headcanon, Claus survives and becomes the leader of the army, rebranding it in the name of peace, and that is why Arild is a commander. Basically, since everyone has unique headcanons for the series, you can just consider this an AU.

3. There will be mention of a couple real life places that will have Mother-ified names. With any mention of Norway, the name will changed to Fjordland, on account of its many... fjords. Canada is also an important place within the story, and that I have decided to call Mapleland. Creative, I know. I figured I would bring it up to avoid confusion

4. Feel free to ask whatever! Though, obviously, just make sure it's on topic, of course. Silly questions are easy to answer and will usually be answered quickest! Lore relevant questions are a little trickier and may take me just a bit longer to respond to, but I will be happy to get to them!! Also, RP is okay with me, if you want to!!

5. When it comes to asking questions, please don't be weird or anything. Like... being a former pigmask, Arild is a plus-sized character, so a comment about his weight would not be great. More importantly, absolutely NO NSFW. This character is a minor, and that stuff is not okay to ask. I don't think any of this will be an issue, but it's good to mention just in case

6. I do not speak Norwegian, so if I want to sprinkle it in a little bit, I have only on option. Google Translate. I know, I know... it's not the best, but I will try my best to avoid mistranslations or misuse of phrases. I wouldn't want to be the new version of that one post about the Norwegian Butter Crisis, haha.

reintroducing myself

Hey, it’s been 3 months since i’ve started tumblr, and i’ve remained pretty consistent if i do say so myself, i have a lot of new faces on this blog and i was just wanting to reintroduce myself to everyone so you guys have a bit of a better understanding of where im coming from

My names Liv, obviously haha. i’m 20 years old and i am neurodivergent, specifically, while not officially diagnosed, i’m very very likely to be audhd, getting a diagnosis in the UK has been proven to be a little inaccessible. not that it’s impossible but it’s long through the NHS and expensive to do privately. i hope that once i have enough money to cover my diagnosis i will.

i made this blog because i for the longest time have felt alone in the ways that ive been experiencing this life, nothing ever made sense and the idea of being called sensitive pains me more than anything, its all i’ve ever known. i’ve spent a lot of my life gaslighting myself into believing im functioning like everyone else is. But in the end i know im not, because if i was then i wouldn’t feel such shame and guilt for being who i am, of course they’re not my thoughts and im not my thoughts but navigating the thoughts can be so exhausting.

im currently studying forensic psychology through an online university that makes it easier for me to manage my time, even though that’s a tiny bit of a lie because i also work 40 hours a week, as well as live on my own in a shared accommodation with people i can’t really talk to (language barrier + age differences) so time management is something i really struggle with and it makes me feel a little overwhelmed but im just taking every day as it comes. i have a lot of anxiety about the future only because ive got such big goals for myself and for the career i want.

i never really had anyone to guide me through the big feelings i’ve felt, over the years. but i felt as though making a blog to share how i try to navigate through the struggles i have, i could maybe inspire others maybe idk haha. i’m a high functioning audhder who is unmedicated and not even diagnosed so if there’s anyone else like me out there feel free to reach out to me, we’re trying and that’s all that matters, we have time and we are strong enough to face anything x

secondly, not sure if anyone else has asked this, but i was wondering what your thoughts are on whether a cohesive in-universe timeline of events could actually be constructed? (someday, from the depths of despair happening before n25 main story, l/n main story happening in the beginning of the school year, etc.) i’d imagine you’d have to ignore or somehow squish together all the holiday/seasonal events, or is it simply impossible to squeeze about three years of events into one cohesive ‘canon’ year?

Never underestimate my probable neurodivergence. It's a work in progress and I want to try and get it done by September but the horrible amount of anachronisms in the main story is killing me. Like WxS simultaneously has to be the first and last main story because it needs to happen before the MMJ and VBS stories but also after Leo/need but that takes place at the same time as MMJ but also before it and WxS also has to be after VBS because WxS isn't a thing when akitoya divorce but then Leo/need doesn't exist when akitoya divorce either Saki isn't even at school yet which means there's no MMJ either but WxS exists before Kohane cuts her hair and MMJ story is in progress when that happens like what. I'm calling this confirmation that the main stories were written by 5 different teams. That or no one proofread anything. Oh there's also a massive error with Haruka's age where they say she's 16 but based on when the story is set she should be 15 and the game insists she was never pushed back a year. Thanks colopale.

Anyway since only one main story mentions a date as far as I remember (WxS) I've been trying to build it off of that. There are still errors because the date mentioned is "first day of school break", you can work out that they're talking about summer break by process of elimination but then none of the other units go on summer vacation. But like we'll just ignore that because I'm too tired to deal with colopale's bad continuity writing. Also the game takes place in the 2021-2022 school year because the only date ever shown in game was 2021 and it was in an event set in September/October. The Leo/need socmed posts have mentioned other dates but we'll ignore that also.

And because I misread your question yes you can squeeze everything into a canon year...kinda. You have to timeloop it because they straight up mention in secret distance that they're going on spring break (end of school year break) and literally don't even bring up the fact that it's the end of the school year.

So I think based on what I've got right now:

WxS main story is during summer break and a week or so prior.

Which means Saki and Haruka return to school in June or July probably (they start at around the same time and it's not mentioned that Haruka starts at the beginning of the school year)

and then VBS happens once the WxS story is done (we'll call that after summer break. so september)

Miyajou doesn't get a summer break that year to fix anachronisms rip

Then we skip september for every unit except VBS and pretty much follow the events in order until we get to Secret Distance (March 2022) and loop back to April 2021 and keep doing that at every half anniversary event.

I'm assuming when we reach 3rd we'll skip all the way from September 2021 to April 2022, not timeloop and then pretend that May->September 2022 isn't real and do a Halloween event.

All the flashback events fit onto the timeline without me having to change anything somehow so at least I can respect colopale for that

Question, how are you so good at art? I mean, it’s all subjective really but your specific art and colour combinations really tickle that itch in my autistic brain.

I've been drawing since I have memory. One of my earliest memory was at maybe 5, drawing Spyro. I started drawing gems at 15 maybe? A lot of the gemsonas from that era are lost to time, but I do remember they were requests (wow, me doing free art? Unheard of!).

Started taking art more seriously when I started this blog, at 2019. I have no job and by the time I was dealing with some serious depresssion shit so when I was sad I took drawing as a therapy. I drew a lot. So I still draw a lot since it's what I'm used to do or else it feels weird haha. I can guarantee your skills will improve on a speed demon level if you have no job and aren't the type of person that likes going outside.

Now more seriously, between 2019 and 2024 a lot of time happens. Art takes a while and one can get mentally burn, so while my hands rest, I can take my time to improve and get stronger. Mindlessly drawing can make lineart and coloring faster but designing can get weirder in the sense of not knowing what to do and just overcomplicating things. Here's my favourite example, good 'ol Blizzard! And I'm still not happy with the damn thing! Art can be personal, art can be a challenge, art can be fun, depends on how you take it. All you have to do is not to give up.

Art feels like a beast to dominate, you need to understand it to break it (I say this as a self-taught artist). No one, and I repeat, NO ONE, starts drawing good. If you don't draw good at the first time, don't give up. You don't like it? Too bad! Art is subjective and just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean someone else won't either. You don't like it because you saw the full progress, of course it doesn't surprise you. But it can surprise someone else!

This drawing right here is the FIRST digital drawing I made (I already drew a lot of paper, I'm sure you can tell haha). I used no layers because I had no idea they existed. Same gang ages later. And they still need to be updated!

Art is constant practice. A commission? Oops, it's actually practice regardless of how serious it is because in the future you will get better, you just have to not give up.

About the whole colouring part, I usually don't overthink it much. If it fits, it sits. BUT I do put it to a test. Does it have a lot of neon colours? Does it look cool? Then I have a problem because if I put that to greyscale and I can't see any difference because it all becomes a grey mass that's an issue. That and limiting the palette, depending on the character's complexity.

Per example when I draw on my art-style (hiii new followers who don't know my art style), I have to play with greyscales a lot to make sure all details can be seen.

I'm sure you get the point by now. I really want to do a video someday reacting to my pile of sketchbooks full of old drawings and do more lessons and all that stuff haha. It's not just about "drawing a lot since old age", that's boogus. It's more about "drawing a lot, having patience, learning from mistakes, research about art and keep drawing".

I'm sure I missed a bunch of things to say, hope that helps anyway! ^^

First of all thank you for this sweet message and you are not at all awkward, don’t worry!!

I want you to know that this has nothing to do with you specifically, but I am always a little careful with who I befriend on here, since you don’t know the person behind the blog (it technically could be anybody) and I first want to build a bit of trust and get to know the people behind the blog before forming a friendhsip (I am not saying I mistrust you!!!).

I would suggest you go off anon and just start interacting with people and their posts and friendships will come/form naturally. It is always healthier to form friendships that way and not "force" them.

When you start interacting with posts and people you will naturally find people who like the same things as you and you can bond ober these things. Just be yourself, interact with posts, make your own posts, reblog, comment and send asks.

I am sure you are a very sweet person, and I know you will definitely find friends on here (just look around and interact and you will stumble upon people who are very similar to you and like the same things and then you will click!) This way, it may also be easier to find friends that are closer age wise or maybe even live in the same country or on the same continent.

Also, you can be proud of yourself, it was already a big step that you are sending this messages — go you!!

hello ! i know this blog is mainly for the store, but i Also am a big spitfire fan whos decided to try to learn to draw in my 30s lmao, so I'm curious — did you struggle with Being Bad At Art at first?? i know it's definitely a Learned Skill, but I'm....understandably terrible, since I JUST started, and I know I get discouraged easily when things don't come to me easily (part of why I'm challenging myself!) so I was just curious if you also struggled with it and if so, how you maybe fought against it. I've seen a couple artists I love talk about it, but you're a personal favorite so lmao

first off, i’m so happy to hear how much you love spitfire! i’m always happy to get spitfire messages, i just haven’t been posting as much content for it because i’m busy editing and, well, that’s not so easy to show off haha

also this blog isn’t dedicated to any one of my pursuits, it’s just kind of where i put all my stuff (to some people’s dismay and others’ enjoyment)

ANYWAY onto the real question: yes. i think almost everyone struggles with issues of skill and inferiority regardless of their field of study and their skill level.

i first started drawing when i was around 5 and while i don’t have any art i can share from that age, i do have a time capsule of my work that goes all the way back to like 2004 or 2005. i was like 13-14 at this point so i’d already been drawing for like 9 years so this isn’t my starting point, but even still you’ll be able to see a big evolution in my work.

and ironically, the time when i felt worst about my work isn’t when i first started, or even as a teen. it was right around 2013, after i graduated from college and simultaneously had had my first really huge increase in online audience and when i was trying to find an art job. there are other contributing factors, like over all mental health, but how you feel about your work does not directly correlate with skill level.

learning anything new is a humbling and vulnerable pursuit and it’s easy to get discouraged. drawing is an exercise in training both your eye and your hand: training your eye to see more keenly so you can make good judgements in your work, and training your hand’s muscle memory.
