Your Digital/Cyber AU seems really cool and you seem super passionate about it so I wanted to put together a playlist that I feel fits the vibe I got from your art and stuff you tagged with Profile Stan! Here’s some of my thoughts behind how I went about picking stuff:

To kick it off, I knew I had to have Bo Burnham’s “Welcome to the Internet” since most everything takes place in the online world. Also, it’s got that sort of devious cyber vibe that I think fits Profile Stan.

In general, I wanted to have a lot electronic-y sounds so I went with a bunch of Vocaloid songs. There’s also so many that fit the idea of being taken over by something electronic, from WANOPO’s “Remote Control” to VocaCircus’ “Copycat” to the ever classic Crusher-P’s “ECHO”. For the songs that weren’t in English, I included English covers by my favorite Vocaloid cover artist.

When I think “evil doppelganger”, my brain immediately goes to Bipper because I was a huge Gravity Falls fan back in the day. So, I included some songs that remind me a lot of him, including one specific fansong (“deCIPHER”). Along those lines, I also included Disparition’s “Eliezer’s Waltz” because it’s from the WTNV episode that really first introduced Cecil’s evil double.

I saw that your AU took some heavy inspiration from Be More Chill, which is not something I was ever into, but my sibling was and they told me that the songs that had the most evidence of the main character being taken over were “Be More Chill (Pt 1)” and “Upgrade” so I made sure to include those.

Outside of the Vocaloid songs, I tried to include more songs about being replaced/overtaken by something and fighting for control. So, that includes songs like “Control”, “Freaking Me Out”, and “The Wolf”. And I did include one additional song fully in Japanese with no cover (Ado’s “Fleeting Lullaby” from the One Piece movie) mostly because it fits this idea EXACTLY and also Ado is an incredible singer (don’t worry, there’s English subtitles if you turn on CC).

Any songs not specifically mentioned do fall under one of these categories or just fit the general vibe I felt while putting everything together. I hope you like this playlist and that it aligns with your vision for your AU!

Alright, this is gonna be a long one so buckle in:

Heartslaybul:

This one would have to be Deuce Spade. I can't help it, he just has such dumb of ass, pure of heart energy and I very much adore that. Plus, his whole "moody bad-boy" image is...well, it's in direct contrast with his Actual Personality. Yeah, he gets in fights, and he references having been a troublemaker, but something tells me he was more on the side of being misunderstood in his intentions. Especially every time he mentions wanting to send money home to help his mother. Also I love that his first spell he learns is How To Summon a Cauldron. Because I get great joy from tropes where a character has One (1) Seemingly Useless or Very Specific Spell That Is Not Combat-Oriented In The Slightest that they make work for a variety of scenarios, including combat. He gives me Rin Okumura vibes, and, as you probably could guess, I can't help but want to adopt him. Bam. Done. He's my Son.

Savanaclaw:

For Savanaclaw, this may come as a shock to you...I like Ruggie the best. He has this Trickster attitude that I adore; sassy and sarcastic and absolutely sneaky and devious. But he also has more than that. He has an entire family back home who aren't very well-off financially, so it's no wonder he's constantly taking every opportunity to make money. At the winter break it even shows that he is trying to bring back as much food from the cafeteria as he can so he can feed his family at home and they can have a fun celebration too without having to worry about their next meal. I also really identify with the way he looks after Leona. It shows that Ruggie has lots of little siblings that he looks after. I have younger siblings and I definitely had to watch out for them when they were growing up. And then, even when Leona overblotted and hurt him, Ruggie stayed by him and stayed loyal, stayed friends, and gave Leona another shot. He totally could've said "fuck this noise, I'm out", which is something I think people often expect from anti-hero characters similar to Ruggie, but he didn't. He faced death for Leona and I think that says more about how much he cares about his friends than any of his snarky remarks or nagging toward Leona ever did. Also, I like to imagine that for the next month and a half Leona is totally at Ruggie's beck and call, because all he has to do when Leona grumbles is go "Oh, are you, the great Leona, tired? Are you...in pain? Hmmm? Do you know what it's like to almost die because your best friend decided to use his signature spell on you and tried to turn you to dust?" I just want that to be how he gets Leona to go to classes for like a month after the incident lol.

Octavinelle:

FLOYD. NO CONTEST. NO HESITATION. FLOYD LEECH. I'm sorry, Azul, Jade...I just can't deny it. Floyd has my heart. He somehow wormed his way into my heart and set up camp and I can't deny he is my favourite. He's just such a wild card, a loose cannon. I love it. My boy. He's also the one I ship with Yuu. :D I just love his attitude, how he sticks to his own way, he doesn't let anyone else make him change how he is. Frustrating as heck to deal with, I am sure, but to watch? Oh, it is sooo entertaining. I love it. I also love how there's only a handful of people who can get through to him, and that is Azul, Jade, and now, sort of, Yuu. Floyd just loves his Shrimpy and wants to squeeze them. Hehehe. Also, his merman form is Very Handsome. Idk, it's something about the way he smiles too, it's just entirely endearing to me.

Scarabia:

This was a tough one. It's not that I really have a favourite in Scarabia. I really like both Jamil and Kalim for different reasons. If I had to choose one I think I would get along with more...honestly it would probably be Jamil. I've said this before, but I've also had a lot of issues with expectations and rules and being put into a role I didn't ask for and having to make exceptions for others and anticipate their needs rather than letting them tell me what they needed. In that way, I see a lot of myself in Jamil. I immediately knew what his frustration was when I started playing book four, and that's why it took me so long. I actually had to take a lot of breaks because, while I wanted the story and have lots of fun playing Twisted Wonderland, book four was very triggering for my anxiety. I may be at a point in my life where I can recognize what was wrong in the past and what I need to work on, but I am by no means over it and unaffected by the memory. So, I think being around Kalim, while it would be enjoyable and I would absolutely adore him, would probably be a bit more taxing on me mentally and emotionally than it would for me to be around Jamil. And that is why I will mark Jamil as my favourite, though I really do like both of them very much.

Pomefiore:

It's Epel Felmier. I am drawn to the way his personality doesn't match his outward appearance. I really like that about him, it's like a surprise sucker punch that he can really weaponize once he figures it out a bit more. I also like the character growth he goes through and how he realizes that there's more to strength than just being able to fight, that there's different ways to be strong and win in life. I love that. And I really identify with the feeling of 'my body doesn't match who I want to be'. As a child, and even sometimes still, I really had a struggle with understanding what I actually looked like. I had an idea in my mind of how I looked and I remember how blatantly thrown off I was when I would look in the mirror. I felt I had to act certain ways because of my body type, that I was expected to be more masculine and tough because I was bigger than my sister and some of my friends. As I got older, it became the opposite. I didn't want to be seen as masculine at all, I hated it, so I tried overly hard with make up, wore very feminine clothes, squeezed my butt into skinny jeans that made indents in my stomach and cut into my hips, and consistently worried about my face and hair throughout the day. Then, I hit a burnout and stopped caring. Still recovering, but I'm learning to love and embrace the body I have and to work with what I have instead of longing for what I don't, and that I can be big and still be feminine, just in a different way. And I think that is something that makes me very similar to Epel.

Also I wanna hear Epel talking all dainty to some poor soul who doesn't know him and then he stubs his toe and screams "FUCK". I just think that would be funny :D

Ignihyde:

Idia Shroud. Again, no contest. I love Ortho to pieces, but Idia is MY BOY. I love him so much. My introverted boy. The one I laid eyes on for 0.5 seconds and went "adopted". He's so pretty, with his flaming blue hair and his beautiful golden eyes. I love his entire aesthetic, and I love his personality. Introverted. Sarcastic. Smart. He's so cool :D I really like how he talks in video game terms, and I think his obsession with video games is so relatable. I may not game near as much as he does, but as a kiddo I used to read almost more often than I breathed. And I was very introverted and loved fictional worlds more than I enjoyed being in reality. So, I get it. He's just so fantastic, we have the same humour, and again I love his devotion to his little brother. He adores Ortho, it's very clear. He tries his best for him. And there's more backstory to come, which I am SO FREAKING EXCITED FOR!!!!! I want to know, even if I already have my guesses, what happened, what he's been through, what happens next. I love Idia so much.

Diasomnia:

Lilia. He's so funny and mischeivous. I love how he teases. I also love that he's canonically called 'Father' by Silver and Sebek. Top Tier. I love how chill he is, like Sebek will be losing his mind over Malleus and Lilia is like "eh, he's fine" and usually he's right. I also love the way he dresses. Very cool aesthetic; definitely the look I really admired in high school. His voice lines are so funny, because the conversation is just rolling along and every once in a while Lilia will drop some piece of knowledge that Reminds Everyone that he is canonically hundreds of years old. Top Tier.

Bonus - Faculty:

I give you, a bonus!!! Crewel! Which you already knew, but I couldn't make a post about my faves and not include him! He is so handsome, his entire aesthetic, the way he talks, those voice lines...🥵🥵...yes. Just. Yes. I thirst over him so much, you know I do. hehehe. :D Seeing him running the infirmary in book 6 part one made me literally scream like YEEESSSSS, WE LOVE A MAN WHO TAKES CARE OF THE INJURED. GD. also because it means if I worked in Night Raven College he would have worked closely with me at that part and that made me so so so happy you have no idea.

i dont know if rodda would write more for this series because it's pretty closed now. but there's still a part of me yearning for more. and i want so bad for vashti to have some agency and some redemption. she was the antagonist in a literary sense and she does have that White Woman™ vibes, but she's also just a kid and i dont think she's evil at heart. sod didn’t really end up going down the direction of exploring the moral greyness of people and your individuality as much, but like i can dream.

i feel like her parent/s were in her ear ever since she was born, fuelling a desire in her to win the apprenticeship and to be The Best. they nurtured her as a tool, but not as a person. not excusing her bullying and undermining, because that’s horrible, but does she know anything else? if her ‘superiors’ are not treating her with kindness and goodness, why would she treat her perceived ‘inferiors’ any differently.

anyway this post could be interpreted as vashti’s ambition. it pushed her to want the apprenticeship enough to cheat and bully. taking every advantage she could. on ship and off ship. take no prisoners mentality. belittling and dehumanising her opponents in her mind, clouding her judgement. similar to jasmine’s opponents in the rithmere games. a burly del-ignorant brute? a devious scavenging rascal? a poor shopkeeper’s daughter? vashti let her assumptions cloud her judgement, and now her enemies are bonded against her. she didn’t really have a chance.

but this post was about her parent/s when i drew up the sketch. i don’t know if her mother, irma, was as directly involved. the books reference her father, loy, much more often in meddling. so i dont know if she’s just like, his trophy wife or something like that and just let things happen warily, or if she held the same ambitions and was his accomplice. either way i would still direct blame on her, even if she was only indirectly responsible because i can’t believe that she was in the dark on the matter.

the vibes im getting out of this parent-daught relationship reminds me of that B99 episode where peralta and holt are talking about the kid graffiting police cars

like bruh??? imagine. having the fucking audacity. i hope that in a world where vashti wins, she eventually learns that he doesnt and shouldnt have power over her and something she won. it doesnt matter that he raised her, that he taught her things she knows. not everything she has was from him, and theres room for stuff outside of him.

i. also forgot she had siblings because it’s never mentioned again except in that quote. but i guess vashti is always on the periphery anyway. but i was thinking that the other candidates are older than britta, who just scraped in at 15, but i dont have concrete numbers in mind lol.

as i was working on this i was thinking maybe vashti was 18. i cant remember if i really had reasons for that or if i chose that arbitrarily alskdj like i guess she might be more used to being composed and more experienced and stuff which makes her intimidating. but she can be younger and still act like that.

but then i was thinking about since she technically also just scraped in (but on the other end) and then the implications of that hit me in the face. like her parent/s were already on her case, but the fact that she just got in probably increased their desperation and longing, and it would’ve been even worse than previous years. the familiar anticipation was manifesting into a lustful grab for power. it was scary. it was overwhelming. there was nothing but a need to make them happy. it’s no longer about a personal accomplishment but a trophy to sate her parents’ hunger. and of course it wouldn’t last. and if they had a taste for something so big, they’d only demand more and more. where would it end.

I genuinely just love how things are starting off in Sweeter, Tech being genuinely just a kind little skrunkle and excusing how his siblings and parents are kinda dicks to him sometimes purely because he’s been told like all his life (intentionally or not) that he’s the “meh” one is peak writing.

Also Phil!!!! I LOVE how devious he’s been, bro went from “who’s fucking kid is this >:(“ to “who cares, mine now” over the course of like a single evening and I love it. Of course there’s the whole revenge factor and everything else but I just love the thought that Techs vibes were simply so good that he decided he needed to snatch this kid up!

Techno is a very normal Thirteen year old. He's a little bit skrunkly, as thirteen year old boys are. He just has the bonus benefit of growing up with two siblings that are very not skrunkly and that is not all that great for self esteem. Like, he's a good kid! A really good kid. Excellent sonboy material. He just gets a little overlooked. Or a lot overlooked.

Philza is a plotting. He saw the good sonboy material and wanted it. But yeah, first he was like "wtf? Where are this child's parents? I'm having a moment over here. Aww, he's sweet...and I have beef with his parents...and I mean, I DID want a child...😀" Philza just has the BEST LUCK.

But he is always plotting, the little chaos stirrer that he is. He has no children to play the straight and narrow for, so he is going to be a problem. He is not lying when he says that he does not do politics because he can't resist making things worse because it is funny.

Yeah, Phil is really upset with what has happened with the Princess. He put a ton of effort into that spell!

Techno is a very 13 year old boy. He sees the rules and sometimes his brain says that he doesn't have to follow them. And it's not like his parents paid attention enough to RIGHTFULLY FREAK OUT that he did that. They don't know he has made that very dumb decision in the past. He would be in SO MUCH TROUBLE if they knew.

does bea ever have or consider having another child?

she does! i have a few headcanons about possible children she has:

les horne (full name les paul horne, lol. he's lili’s twin brother, and originates from a sims games i had where i was accidentally given twins. he looks a lot more like bea, with her dark hair and dark eyes).

lola horne ( pictured below—magnus' bio daughter with bea, born a few years after lili. very much a devious little sister type. i haven't gotten to develop her much, but i figure i ought to at some point).

i also have a nondescript second bea and skwisgaar kid, born much later on (post-fatherklok ofc, and also after bea has left magnus as a result of his pretty obvious downward spiral), after them getting back together and actually starting to try to function as a family again. iirc i named her signy. when i think of her as an adult, i tend to think of her as having a similar look/vibe to the singer aurora

in terms of bea's feelings about the whole issue, i think she's pretty open to it and would be fine with having more than one. she's got a lot of mom instincts, enjoys being a mom, and is an oldest sibling. she's pretty used to taking care of kids, basically.

what really bothers her is not feeling like she's an adequate mom financially, or being able to put in the time to be a mom with the hours she works. helping support magnus' struggling music career by working long hours at multiple jobs is often at times grating for her, especially when magnus is not exactly as "good" at being a parent as she is (i.e., traditionally responsible. he's very rock and roll, you see).

i think in getting back with skwisgaar, she'd feel a lot more financially secure, and would have another kid (like signy) with him if she felt that he would actually be a decent parent this time around.

as for her situation around lola, i think that she'd feel stressed to have another mouth to feed, but grow to love her pretty quickly. she really does love magnus a lot, and that affection would extend to their child. things may not be easy, but as far as bea is concerned, nothing ever really is.

THEY DON’T GET CHOCOLATE FROGS MUCH ANYMORE.

They never did, to begin with, surviving on their dad’s meagre salary, but lately, they’ve been getting them less and less. This doesn’t mean Ron doesn’t like them — love them, in fact. Their mum’s call always, “Ron! Ginerva! I have a surprise for you!” always gets the kids running. It’s tradition, at this point — Ginny’s insistence that her name is ‘Ginny’, never ‘Ginerva,’ Ron’s detective smell of each box, and their “three, two, one, card!” upon opening the frogs’ boxes. 

It’s been so long — a year, in fact. Ginny, barely eight, still cannot really fathom the lack of money they have. Ron sort-of understands. And this morning feels just like any other. The birds chirp as he wakes up, pleasant calls, and just like every other morning, Ron remembers his great-great-aunt Muriel’s tale of the birds calling for their lording phoenix. They wish, he thinks bitterly as he, not wanting to be caught in the red flame of his mum’s ire, changes out of his pyjamas and into ratty, passed-down clothing. The only thing that marks it as his is the faded strip of paper with just the bare markings of the word ‘RON’ in nearly-whitened ink. It was rich in colour, black, once. 

But like everything he owns, it’s not in prime condition. He’s just in the process of pulling on a pair of maroon socks (yes, he does hate the colour maroon, and yes, he will be wearing the socks) when his mum’s voice filters through the door. “It’s time for breakfast, dears!” has never sounded as frightening as it has in the past two years. As money grew tighter and tighter (Ginny kept growing and they didn’t have much clothes to fit her), breakfast meant chores afterwards, so their mother could focus on the bit of ‘freelancing’ she did — an odd sewing project here, a knitted sweater-and-bonnet set for a next-door neighbour. 

Langly legs leading him down the stairs, he joins the mob of red that heads to the kitchen. The Burrow, their home, is held up only by magic. How else would the additional rooms protruding from the original structure stay up? 

“Hi,” he says to his brothers, George and Fred, though they wink at him before returning to their hushed murmurings. Twins and devious, Fred and George would be heading for their second year at Hogwarts (the brilliant wizarding school in Scotland) on September 1st. 

Sometimes, Ron feels excluded from his family. His eldest siblings, Bill and Charlie, have each other, Percy’s the most studious out of all of them and is always contemptuous about remaining with his books, and Fred and George have each other. So Ron sticks by himself or Ginny, his younger sister. It’s a bit embarrassing for his best friend to be his younger sister, but he does it. 

“Hey, buddy!” As Ron perches precariously on one of the stools, Charlie — who was apparently already downstairs — reaches over to mess his hair. Ron smiles cheerfully, loading oatmeal, sugar, and cream into his bowl. 

After breakfast, they receive chore lists. Ron sighs in relief when he realises he just has to clean out the chicken coops, remove the hens’ eggs, and make sure no gnomes are hiding in the area. It seems that Ginny isn’t as lucky, as she gives a very dramatic sigh and pouts at Mum. Luckily, Mum isn’t facing her, so she isn’t swayed by her only daughter’s child emotions. 

With a kiss on each child’s cheek, Molly Weasley watches her kids leave the room to complete their chores. Smiling softly, she starts preparing a casserole she needs to make for the Lovegoods. 

Ron rushes out to the yard and towards the coops quickly, so none of his siblings can rope him into helping with their chores. He completes his tasks quickly yet efficiently; when he comes back to the Burrow to give his mum the filled egg basket, Ginny is huffing about only being on her second task — the second out of five. Sucks for her, he thinks, grabbing one of their mum’s concoctions that is supposed to help in warding off gnomes. 

He completes that task quickly, and after he carefully replaces the foul-smelling potion, he contemplates his options for a second. He can either go back to Mum and get a new list or go upstairs to his room. Instincts win out and he carefully creeps up the stairs. He’s about to pump his hands and whisper ‘yes!’ when his toes push into a hard stair. The creaking stair, and the bane of Fred and George. Shoot. The squeak is loud, and Ron pauses, not breathing. What fib can he come up with if Mum comes to check? 

Thankfully, his mum doesn’t move from the kitchen and Ron, a bit more careful, tip-toes to his room, shutting the door softly behind him. “Success!” he laughs as he falls onto his mattress, letting it wrap him. Ron stays there for a while, staring at the ceiling until his eyelids flutter close once, twice, thrice, before settling into a light sleep. 

Three hours later, he’s awoken by a call of, “Ron! Ginny!” He doesn’t move, and Mum calls the iconic “Ron! Ginny! I have a surprise for you!” Ron is up in an instant. It doesn’t matter that the small flame in his heart is re-awoken with hope, the smallest part that hopes reverently that it’s a chocolate frog. 

He’s already downstairs, standing at the table, white knuckles clutching the back of a chair, when Ginny finally makes it down. The nine-year-old has an adorable pout on her face, and Molly softens at the sight of it. 

Molly beams at her children. She loves them, through anything. Anything. Even though they don’t have much money, she makes due with what she can. She tries to give them all they’d ever want. And she knows it's not ideal, but she works with what she has. Clearing her throat, misty-eyed, she says, “I have a surprise for you.” Ron’s grip on the chair grows tighter, and Molly smiles even wider. She knows that her youngest son is probably aware, and trying to repress his hopes — and it hurts her so much, like a million thorns sticking themselves into her heart, that he can’t wish for some simple chocolate. She’s tried before to recreate the iconic frogs, but they never turn out as well as the original. 

“What is it?” Ginny asks with the pretence of boredom, but Molly sees her only daughter’s confusion and faint hope. It hurts. 

“Well…” Molly trails off, removing her hands from behind her back. Two chocolate frog boxes are held tightly in her hands. It’s why she baked the casserole and knitted Pandora Lovegood and her daughter Luna matching cardigans for the grand sum of fifteen galleons. (Not that the chocolate frogs cost so much — only a galleon together; the rest of the money, fourteen galleons, would go to Ron and Ginny’s Hogwarts funds.) 

Ron’s face lights up with pure, child joy that makes it all worth it. So does Ginny’s, though she tries to hide it. “Thank you!” they both squeal (though they’d both deny that), and each grab one. Together, with a, “Three, two, one, open!” from Ron, they tear through the packaging, carefully putting the box to the side, and pulling out the card. 

“Cool!” yells Ginny, brandishing her new, first-ever Jocunda Sykes card. 

Ron, grinning, says, “I got bloody Devlin Whitehorn! First one!” 

It has been a while since Molly has seen her youngest two so joyful. It always makes all of the extra work worth it — plus, she’d be doing that work anyway, trying to maintain a cosy home. They both repeat extravagant thank you’s, and Molly can’t help but chuckle. Such simple, childish behaviour that would disappear in a few years as they went to Hogwarts and learned more responsibility. 

Ron is first, but then Ginny joins. Soon, all three of them are hugging, holding on to each other tightly. Molly feels like never letting go. She loves her family so, so much; she does, like Arthur, everything she can for them. This? This is family. 

Family means sticking to each other through thick and thin. 

It means never, ever giving up in difficult situations. 

That you should always keep pushing to be a better, healthier version of yourself. 

Family is such a precious thing.

This has got to be a sibling connection for someone, and not the healthiest one. I got that vibe before the cards even came out. This is a person that just likes to argue, they want to compete, they like to put you down and act like they’re so much “better” than you in any way they possibly can. It’s normal for siblings on some level, but The Devil comes out to show how this person is downright toxic about it & it’s a part of their lowest shadow self. They’re not secure in themselves unless they’re better than you, and if they’re not better than you, what good are they? Kinda messed up. You probably don’t see them that way, you love them unconditionally & cherish the bond between you. They could see that as a weakness. They’re probably older than you.

Mind games is on their side, I’m more inclined to believe it’s them with this attitude.

Do you have any headcanons on how the Sinnoh Gym Leaders/Elites get on with other members of the leagues that have the same type speciality? And do you think they got up to anything when all the Gym Leaders got together for the World Tournament in Unova?

aahhh i love this ask! this is going to be a bit long, so strap yourself in for a ride.

i won’t go into depth with every sinnoh leader and their compatibility with each member of their type because that would make this extremely lengthy, but feel free to ask about anyone i missed or if you want to hear more about my thoughts on a specific group! i’ll only be mentioning the ones that i have decently formed thoughts on.

i also will not really be touching on any league members past gen 6 because i don’t know enough about them to fit them into this ;;

FLINT: honestly, i think the fire type leaders would all get along SUPER well. flannery, flint, chili and blaine seem right up each other’s alley — flannery, chili and flint could probably be almost like siblings because of their age and personalities (not to mention the red hair too). blaine would be their cool dad or something. they’re all very excitable and reckless so i feel like they would get up to a lot of trouble together (nothing too harmful, though).

CANDICE: i think candice would have a considerably hard time trying to hit it off with any other ice type specialist just because they’re all so insanely different. she wouldn’t dislike any of them, but would more than likely stick around the fighting or fire type specialists, because they’re more up her alley.

WAKE: there is a LOT of water type leaders, but to be honest, i actually think they’d all mesh pretty well. they’re all rather extroverted (cress excluded), and i feel like their love for the sea and water types could really bring them all together. wake, wallace and marlon are definitely all people who don’t have the ability to be embarrassed or let things get awkward, so i figure they could have some fun as a whole group.

VOLKNER: personality wise, volkner is quite a contrast to the other electric leaders. wattson and lt. surge are loud and prideful while elesa is excitable and confident — i think the one he is the most similar to is clemont, and that’s mostly because they both have a thing for mechanics. despite these surface-level differences, volkner is a motormouth when it comes to his interests. since all of them have a passion for electric types, i don’t think it would be hard to get them talking and having intense conversations about battle strategies. i feel like this group is so odd together but that’s why it works, and they could have hour-long sessions just talking all together.

GARDENIA: honestly, i think her and the rest of the grass type leaders would be really cute together. her and erika really give off the same vibe while ramos and cilan are levelheaded sweethearts. gardenia is probably the most chaotic of them all, but i bet she would really be able to match their vibe due to the fact that her chaotic tendencies aren’t all that intense. i could see these four wanting to visit national parks just to enjoy their favourite place together because they all understand how soothing gardens are to each other.

FANTINA: all the ghost type leaders could have what i can only describe as an interesting time together. they all have a mysterious and devious side which i could see them using to their advantage in order to prank/confuse the other league members. shauntal is intelligent, phoebe and morty can communicate with ghost types, and fantina is charmingly devious. with these four together, they could conquer the world if they really wanted to.

WORLD LEADERS TOURNAMENT

honestly, i feel like a LOT happened at the world tournament that most of them probably don’t remember LMAO. they all probably did a solid week of battling in order to get through all of the participants, and once that was over, i figure everyone probably stayed from anywhere to a few more days to a week after it’s conclusion. since none of them were on the job while at the tournament, they could party it up every day if they wanted to.

they would all stay laser-focused during the tense week of the leaders world tournament, working morning to night in order to be prepared for any fight that comes their way. leaders who haven’t even spoken before would come together to talk strategies for hours until they physically can’t keep their eyes open anymore. lots of late nights and early mornings strategizing and battling until a winner emerges.

but, after all that stress, they decide they deserve to let loose for the rest of their time in unova. they have nothing to worry about until they have to return back to their duties, so they might as well have fun and meet as many other league members from other regions that they can while they have the chance to. i imagine that a lot of them researched each other before the tournament and use the week after as a way of finally being able to socialize and meet the people they’ve wanted to for so long. i want to say that the leaders tournament only happens every few years (every year would be very stressful on the regions hosting), and there’s in-game evidence of how quickly regions can cycle through league members, so they all try to take their chance now, just in case their people of interest aren’t around for the next one.

i’m sure we can assume maylene, flint, fantina and wake were the token sinnoh life of the parties, while the rest of them did a lot more socializing. volkner would have enjoyed talking battle strategies with other leaders (definitely the electric leaders, but he also knows shauntal so i figure he’s in with some elite four from other regions too — but oddly enough, i think the people he would get along with best from other regions are cheren and morty), but he would definitely let loose too with enough prodding and liquid courage.

i feel like lucian, grimsley, and shauntal would all be good company for each other, as lucian and shauntal love books and grimsley kind of matches their vibe and him being from a rich family makes me feel like he has solid knowledge of the classics as well.

maylene would become besties with everyone while simultaneously attempting to fight everybody who approaches her. but her duality is charming, so the friend part is usually what ends up happening. i could see her even getting close to breaking jasmine out of her shy shell with her infectious personality.

cynthia is a curveball in-betweener. if caught on the right night, she could definitely be a big contender for the biggest partier. on other nights, she prefers to observe and mingle with everyone she can. she has a good memory and loves learning about people, so i don’t think she would stick around just one person or group. she’d talk to anyone from flannery to jasmine to tate & liza because she believes she can learn something from everyone no matter how different they are from her.

all in all, the world leaders tournament is always a net positive for everyone who attends. they get to meet new people and hone their skills, learn how things are in other regions and party carefree. it’s always nice to have a fun reason to be off the job for a while, and the league members take good advantage of this time.
