What America's Monster would be like if you weren't feeling 100% (a continuation of this post)

He's very observant meaning he'd pick up on any changes to your body language. How you are avoiding eye contact, seem a little more distant and distracted lately and are a lot more sluggish than usual. It's scary sometimes how he knows your little habits and trends in behaviour.

He'd make you your morning coffee/tea just how you like it, without a word spoken

Adler usually gets you to go on a long walk with him to clear your head. He'll surprise you and take you to a lovely scenic spot too -> "Right that's it. Come on, on your feet. We're going for a walk, sweetheart. Fresh air'll do you some good. I know a good spot. You'll love it. Promise."

He'd let you treat him like a punching bag. He takes those punches in the chest like a champ but he pulls you into a hug, squeezing you until you finally give up, drained of energy from crying. He's never the first to let go.

He cooks you a good ol' hearty meal he knows you love.

Or he asks you if you'd like to bake with him. You both making an absolute mess of the kitchen, making poor Russ wash up since it was his idea but he lets you off

Russ lets you join him in the shooting range/gym late at night if you can't sleep. ->

-"Hope you're not planning to sit there all night, sulking."

-"No, of course not."

-"Show me what ya got then, tiger." *winks and hands gun to you*

Breakfast in bed and him running a bath for you? Hell yes.

He wants to make you smile and he knows one fool proof way of making that happen. He'll get on top of you and kiss you all over until you giggle uncontrollably because of how ticklish it is.

I feel like this man would be the best at giving life advice given what he's gone through, what he's achieved etc.

Adler is the type of guy to pull up a chair and sit next you on the porch out front, lighting a cig and offering you one too and then proceeding to have a really deep conversation with you out of nowhere, whether that's about why you're upset or not . He's good at it. I know he hates small talk.

But just him being there to distract you from whatever you're feeling is nice, even if it's temporary

You might get the occasional dad joke that's hilariously bad but those are reserved for those close to him

Or he might tell you a funny story about himself. Nothing too embarrassing. He's got a reputation to maintain after all

But he'd most definitely remind you of all the times you've gotten through stuff like this before and how you can always come to him, no matter what.

she does need sleep! she doesn't need to sleep as often as people, but she's a little wraith and she needs to snooze every like... i dunno. three days? sure, let's go with that.

although in the first few days of her being on PNF404, i could see her getting bored one night and poking around her crewmate's rooms to see what they're doing (spoilers: they're all just sleeping). in the morning after, dingo talks about a very bizarre dream he had with a specter watching him sleep! everyone dismisses it as the ranger having some weird sleep paralysis, but pom's sweating at the table thinking about how she should be way more careful if she does that again.

this ask did inspire me though, i'll probably make more art explaining how she works sometime later hehe...

that'd be scary... although, if there's anyone incentivized to wraithify olimar, it'd probably be the plasm wraith! that golden goo is really fond of him, and they'd love to make olimar just like them

yes!! he's the first one to discover her secret. it'd probably happen on accident out on the field pretty early on when pom is forced to defend herself with no pikmin, but it's no difference to Oatchi -- pom is pom! he'd bark and give her helmet a lick, and when pom realizes her rescue pup isn't scared of her it's quite the relief...

YES!!!!!!!!! there are so, so many ways that could happen and each one is hilarious... i've written out a few different scenarios, i should pick one to draw out... it'd be funny if dingo learns her secret but decides to trust her and keep it safe. but he's, you know. dingo. he's not good at lying, especially to his crewmates (and especially to his actual childhood friend of a doctor who was already very suspicious of the new blood!)

Bobby goes into scary movies thinking he's going to guess every plot point and anticipate every jumpscare 😭 he's so used to this being the case that he just assumes it'll be like that for every movie. So when the movie suddenly becomes nothing like what he was expecting, he turns into a big wuss.

He thinks he's hiding his fear pretty well, but he's really not. You can feel him jolt every time something startles him, squeezing his eyes shut and grumbling under his breath. He will not admit to anything if you call him out on being scared, but him hiding his face in your shoulder is an admission of guilt all on its own.

He's so funny if he realizes that you're scared, too. Curls up next to you in a tight little ball, holding your hand and fussing about how much he hates this damn movie. Who thought this was a good idea? Who green-lit the production of this?

Rhett isn't bothered. Like at all. He's watching, but he's so aware of the fact that this is a movie that it fails to scare him. You'll be jumping around next to him, on the edge of your seat, and he'll be sprawled out next to you, not even flinching.

Sometimes, you'll find a film so unpredictable that it'll get him to jump a little, but it's such a rare occurrence that you've long since accepted that you're not scaring him. It's best to just pick a film and resign yourself to snuggling him like the emotional support companion he is.

Things are the most fun when you've got them together. Rhett thinks he's hilarious when he sneaks up behind the couch and scares the ever-living hell out of Bobby mid-movie. It's probably the only time you'll ever hear Bob scream 😭but if Bob tries doing the same thing to Rhett, nothing happens. He might unintentionally startle you, but that's the best reaction he'll get.

Rhett's designated to sit in the middle every time; he's like your personal snuggle pillar for when the movie starts getting to one (or both) of you. He also gets to hold the popcorn, because otherwise it's going to get spilled everywhere (blame Bob).

I am personally more of a Shuggy/Crocobug shipper but that's mainly because Mihawk isn't doing it for me much?? I love him and his gold autistic eyes staring into my soul and his classy attitude and vampiric looking aesthetic, but I wish he had more screentime to figure out his personality better and enjoy him more. But I do like him! I swear! And tbh one of my favorite ships is Cross Guild, like, the three of them together, even if I have a bit of a preference inside of the trio. I do love them and tbh I think Mihawk and Buggy's relationship would be really funny to explore. Especially within the fanon portrayals of the characters because god forbid Oda gives the cool edgy swordsman more than three minutes of screentime and more than five words per episode.

Okay, so doing a mix between fanon and canon and "whatever the fuck I want to see these characters as because I am the princess of this blog and I can do whatever I want": I think their relationship is fucking hilarious.

Unlike with Crocodile, Buggy doesn't really know what to do with Mihawk. Crocodile at least is easy to read and he's usually the one to make the first move, but what the fuck is Buggy supposed to do with the swordsman sitting in front of him, legs crossed and staring into his soul like he's about to bite his neck and suck him dry. Scary. And also very hot. But mostly scary. But turns out Mihawk is like, way more peaceful than what he thought. He likes reading. And classical music. And swords in a very weird obsessive way that the clown should not speak about. And not much, honestly. Cooking, too, apparently. Buggy keeps learning new things about him every day and the guy opens up little by little, because even if he's quiet, the very few words he says speak a lot for himself. He's also a fucking sadist and loves teasing Buggy all the time to the point of making him cry of frustration, but, well, when he's good he's really nice to be around <3

They both have history with Shanks. You know the movie "The other woman"? The one about this girl who discovers her boyfriend is married and then becomes besties with the wife and start hating him together? That's the energy I'm getting from this triangle. Stop making Mihawk cry over Shanks not loving him and a past love!! Make him go "Oh. Yes. Red Hair and I had something. Pretty sure he still felt something for you, clown, so I am not happy about that" / "What?! Why would you be angry at me for Shanks' shitty feelings that have absolutely nothing to do with me, by the way, our thing ended years ago when his stupid-" / "No, no. I am referring to him. Moron. I like you" / "You do???'' / "Sometimes. Sort of. Maybe. Your existence confuses me". And then they start dating because nobody can tell me Cross Guild isn't just a poly relationship doing business together.

I think Mihawk likes Buggy because it gives excitement to his boring life and also he's fun to bully. Besides, he's more than what he looks like and he actually has a dream and pirate spirit, so maybe he's not as useless as he used to think. He's still annoying, yes, but oddly comforting. Mihawk can't quite figure out what he wants with this clown, so he just sticks around with him. Buggy is like a chihuahua. A very loud chihuahua. Mihawk is definitely a black cat. They don't match. At all. Not in the slightest. And yet, Mihawk likes his company. And Buggy actually loves seeing all the soft and interesting sides of Mihawk and realize that he's not as scary as he looks like. I mean, he could slice him in half if he wanted to and he's still scary and hot but, y'know, he has a very domestic side that Buggy likes.

Thinking about them being established is pretty sweet because I think Mihawk would like reading out loud to him and Buggy would make the funniest comments about the story. And they would cuddle. And it would be so uncharacteristically soft of them and it's something they only do in private. Crocodile stares at them from the corner of the room and,,, He likes having them there. He's not alone and it's kind of sweet.

Also overprotective Mihawk with Buggy my beloved. In the sense of: He cooks for him because his eating habits suck. He makes him go on walks and do a bit of exercise. He makes him read, too. Listen to music that it's not only commercial pop or circus music or musical/Broadway tunes. He takes care of the clown when he's not bullying him. I think Mihawk treats Buggy like Sharpay Evans treats her dog.

And following the Shanks thing to end this post: Bughawk is really cool because I think it would break Shanks' heart and I love angst.

ok ok ok ok ok ok hear me out.... fem civillian reader stuck in a love PENTAGON with kiryu, daigo, majima, akiyama and saejima (am I crazy? Not at all) and hear me out! They all seem to get along as a group as they keep finding excuses to stay with her, they also do bicker alot with eachothers or try to steal her away for some time (none of them admit their crush to her tho), only ganging up when someone's bothering her. For some reason, Kiryu always manages to steal the show from his friends. (Oh my God I'm so sorry this is getting out of hand)

PLEASE this is so funny to me, I have been sitting on this ask for MONTHS now thinking about it. I am so sorry it took me so long but I finally have the goods, so here ya go!

First of all, the boys generally always do get along. This group dynamic is always fun to hangout with. Of course, YOU know who they are and their professions, etc. It was kind of scary at first; chances are, it was Akiyama that introduced you to the gang, as he's the only civillian there anyways.

Even though Akiyama was the one who started all this, you're pretty much equally close to all of them, the exception maybe being Daigo as he's the quietest and works the most. Chances are you just don't see him as regularly as the others.

You see Majima and Saejima the most and usually at the same time since the two tend to travel as a pair. They also bicker and tease each other (and you) the most. They're really into picking you up and carrying you around (Saejima IS better at this, by the way).

Kiryu and Daigo are more a mixed bag; sometimes you see them alone and sometimes they show up as a group since they work together. Both are always very kind and gentle around you but Daigo is the most noticeably shy at first. However, ironically he's the one that opens up the most around you as time goes on.

Akiyama is the first to notice that the other boys seem to like you as more than friends. He NEVER mentions this to you directly but he does love to stir the pot and ask you what you think of the other guys. He sometimes teases the guys as well, but only when you're not around. Mostly because he's fully aware he's had a crush on you for a while now and he can't blow his cover... but he also totally wants to sniff out how you're feeling or how they're feeling.

Kiryu is the hardest one to detect, man's stoic as hell. Honestly, he'll be the last one to realize he has a crush on you. Most of the time he's like "What? This is just how I am..." only to fully realize much much later that he is in fact only this way with you specifically and therefore you're really special to him.

Majima's the most likely to get physical with you but not in a sexual or uncomfortable way. He's a hugger for sure, which only makes Saejima and Daigo jealous in particular. Leans his head on your shoulder a lot too. Generally speaking, he's good at getting into close proximity with you.

Majima and Saejima compete the most. Very much "anything you can do, I can do better" deal which is hilarious for you and Akiyama to watch especially. There's been a couple times where the two of them bit off more than they can chew in a drinking challenge or something like that.

Akiyama teases them about it often, which only makes the three of them bicker more. Bickering just makes Daigo kind of shake his head or he'll try to make them make peace with each other which only makes them bicker with him, and so it goes on and on to your amusement.

Leave it to Kiryu to, whether he knows it or not, use these moments to get closer to you. He'll kind of just sigh and say something like "Ah, they're at it again, aren't they..." and joke about it with you. It isn't until the other four are done having their little tussle that they realize you'd spent the whole time just talking to Kiryu instead.

No one gets upset about it, although Majima might make some comment about Kiryu hogging your attention. It's always a little strange seeing some of the top brass of the Tojo Clan making a fuss over you; after all, you don't think you're all THAT special. Problem is, you are, very much so, to all five of them!

shiratorizawa/inarizaki headcanons bc i miss them and i love them and i crave yamagata and reon content so i have to be the change i want to see in the world. so let's go!!

reon, the love of my life

i actually think he really likes comforting cozy slice-of-life sim games, like stardew valley and animal crossing and such

okay this is the part where i retcon the entire haikyuu timeline bc i really like the idea of everyone piling into reon's and tendou's dorm and watching reon game on a switch

or just like. gathering in the common area and squishing onto the couch or whatever while reon roams his island collecting fruits and bugs or whatever

(these games are the only sense of peace and stability reon gets at this goddamn school)

anyways it's funny bc tendou screams every time reon runs into a wasp's nest and yells "RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN" until reon either gets stung or successfully evades them

admittedly i do think the ds and gameboy are sacred and, for the sake of nostalgia, are definitely used to play pokemon (of which everyone has a favorite gen and get into endless arguments about it)

tendou DOES teach goshiki how to pirate shit and get ROM hacks and emulators and such tho

reon and semi are the most popular members out of the third years btw

they're both polite and calm and generally nice and don't have an RBF that makes people nervous

too many people keep trying to fight yamagata just bc they think he's glaring at them and he is SO tired

yamagata (slightly inspired by my own recent purchase) decides to get a phone charm to see if it'll help him keep track of his phone btw

he mentions this idea to semi who mentions it to reon who mentions it to tendou who blabs to the whole team. and guess what? everyone gets the absolutely brilliant idea of gifting yamagata a phone charm!!!

so now he has like a dozen different ones. and he's STILL losing his goddamn phone, so now his convos are like "have you seen my phone? yeah right now it's got a little phone charm hanging off of it, so just keep an eye out for that. what does the charm look like? oh i meant it's a charm that is literally a phone. of course it was tendou, who else do you think it was"

tendou has also taken to putting stickers on yamagata in an attempt to make him "less scary". sometimes yamagata knows about it. sometimes he doesn't.

kawanishi: "yamagata-san, pardon me for asking, but why do you have one-punch man on your butt" yamagata: "i have what now"

tendou meets someone he can talk to manga about online in some fandom/community forum or whatever and he is absolutely BETRAYED to find out that it's akagi michinari of inarizaki

okay not really but he is SUPER dramatic about it and keeps going on and on to akagi about how he can't be caught fraternizing with the enemy

akagi is just like "yeah yeah now are we going to talk about the complexities of yoru being both a victim and a perpetrator and his inevitable redemption arc or what"

aran is still scared of tendou btw. like he won't outright admit it but he's still not over the time tendou yelled that he was going to piss in his pants from all the way across the court.

also i know tendou gets pissed off at suna. but i think it'd be REALLY funny if suna got pissed off at kawanishi

The whole song is very, like, yearning and honestly does remind me of a vibrant sunset just before it softens into a pink and yellow glow. Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why? I like watching long videos in general. Sometimes it’s just gameplay, sometimes it’s social commentary, sometimes it’s ghost hunting videos, sometimes it’s something that randomly popped up in my for you page and looked interesting. The most recent one I watched was “Exploring the Secret Lesbian World of Interwar Paris” by Kaz Rowe.

Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend. I didn’t really have one, but I pretended to have an imaginary “boyfriend”. People at my elementary school were obsessed with dating for some reason even though we were, like, 8 and so that’s the main reason why I said it was a bf. What is your go-to way to fall asleep? If I’m too awake from an exciting/busy day I’ll watch youtube videos to calm down. I sleep with my childhood stuffed animal. What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why? I really like David’s “Watching a Scary Movie With Your Alpha Werewolf” audio. I love his laughs so much (I could  s q u e a l  into a pillow)! It’s also really calming in the sense that it’s relaxing in a fun way (just chilling and watching a movie), so I go back to it a lot.

What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.) Ollie. He’s really sweet and I don’t hate him at all, but I can only watch two of his audios in a row before wanting to change to something else.

What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why? Listening to Redacted Audio is the biggest, and also reading/writing fanfiction. It’s embarrassing to talk to any of my IRL friends or family about it even though I’m fully supportive and excited about discussing all of those things, it's just the weird reputation it carries.

And whatever else you think tells me about who you are! I’m introverted. I have two cats! (I didn't realize how many cat lovers were in this fandom). I believe that I’m biromantic and demisexual. Some things I like to do are: write, read, go camping with friends (I love hanging out, playing card games, swimming and eating campfire food), doing karaoke, and playing dress up in costumes/outfits I’ve collected over the years. Sometimes I’ll draw or paint but not as often. I often have dance parties or a good cry to de-stress (which are like two different vibes XD but it works). The video games I like to play are Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and The Sims. I like to take quizzes. I used to take Buzzfeed and Quotev quizzes a lot when I was younger, but now I mostly go on uquiz. (I like pressing buttons).

I also really like paleontology. I can watch ghost hunting videos (as stated before) BUT I cannot do horror movies. I’m assuming it’s because I get too involved with the movie, and ghost hunting does not have as high of stakes. I guess I would describe myself as someone that is pretty quiet until you get to know me. I tend to be very watchful and cautious when I’m out in public with friends or family (which probably comes from my ‘older sibling need’ to make sure that the younger ones don’t get kidnapped or hurt). I count myself as an early bird, since I wake up around 6-7am most days. My style is pretty casual, maybe sometimes dark academia inspired if I’m feeling stylish. And my main love languages are quality time and words of affirmation. (I hope all of that helps!)

I'm a little more familiar with Cellbit's character than Bagi's, so probably have more headcanons about him. I am actively trying to get more unhinged about Bagi because she is so cool and everyone should tell me their Bagi headcanons

Bagi headcanons/opinions:

She should be transfem. as a treat. her being transfem lets me make the twins identical, and anything that makes it more obvious how related they are makes them funnier

Her being transfem also adds fun layers to her relationship with Tina, as Tina is a demon pretending to be human. All I'm saying is you could do some fun parallels and contrasts about presentation and the self

Also if you make her and Jaiden and Baghera all transfem, you get the fun fed-sisters-plus transfem solidarity that exists only in my head

She can only barely cook. She never learned as a kid and then got fucking frozen, and she's tried to learn as an adult but it's not going well

When she thinks about raising Empanada, she gets kinda caught between wanting to pass on the pacifist, live-and-let-live mentality that she pretends to have and the more defensive/aggressive ideas she actually has. She does like the idea of pacifism and doesn't want Empanada to grow up bitter, but... peace isn't what's kept her safe and alive

Empanada's first death resolved a lot of those conflicts. A kinder world isn't coming, so she has to raise a fighter

Her "pretending to be an ethical vegetarian" thing is hilarious to me. girl you aren't pretending to be a vegetarian you just are one. you can lie about your reasons but girl. you don't eat meat

Cellbit headcanons/opinions:

He can't cook even a little bit. Federation pet -> child soldier -> jail-> struggling adult? yeah he never fucking learned to cook

Relatedly I think he's a picky eater but has weird tastes. Like i think he eats instant microwave/just add water foods raw and likes it because he learned to eat it like that at some point, but can't stand a lot of "real food" because he just never got used to it (this is partly based on me lsjkhd)

He owns a butterfly knife and he's good with it. He picked it up as a hobby after Fuga when he was in therapy because he needed something to fill his time and it was a socially acceptable way to carry a knife. He can do all kinds of tricks now

Just pre-purgatory (and probably still now tbh) sometimes the butterfly knife suddenly reminds him too much of a real knife or triggers some kind of intrusive thought that scares him. His reaction to this is to just let go of the knife midair. He's very lucky no one's gotten hurt yet

He 100% remembers more of his childhood with Bagi than he admits. He pretends he doesn't because even acknowledging that he was a child once undermines his image of himself as a monster (upsetting, unhealthy self-image, sure, but one that's kept him safe. monsters aren't afraid of anything. monsters can't be hurt. children, though?)

As much as I understand and will read about autistic!Cellbit headcanons, I don't agree (i am autistic, for the record). He's actually really good with social cues, like scary good, and obviously has really strong theory of mind. Like I get where people are coming from but we need to defend an allistic guy's right to just be a fucking freak (/lh /nm)

I want to call Cellbit and Baghera "hunters" instead of "chainsaw killers." again I get where people are coming from. it's funny and I'll use it. however hunters would go so hard. same genre as codebreakers and bloodhounds. do you see my vision

Ok so first of all, Sasha finds you really funny. She thinks it’s so amusing when you get all snarly and jump around, thinking you look scary, when in reality you just look like a stubborn fourth grader.

When you guys first met, Sasha definitely thought of you as one of those little ratdogs that was like two feet tall and just barked at EVERYTHING. But she found it cute, regardless.

I feel like you and Sasha have sort of matching energies, which also makes you two fit together even more! You both got that sort of intensity and overhyped energy, if you know what I mean. Even though Sasha tends to be the more mature and chill person in the relationship, while your kinda like the feisty little kid.

You guys definitely scare people, and are known as the “scary couple”.

A really cute thing you do is when you try to “protect” Sasha from other people. Like, for example, Sasha was sort of fighting with this one kid at school, because they said something that she didn’t approve of. So while they are peacefully standing there, arguing back and forth, you suddenly jumped up right in the other person’s face. You continue by holding your arms out (to sort of hide Sasha behind you) while aggressively screaming at them and jumping up and down, thinking you look super threatening, when you really just you looked like a rabid rat. Sasha found it extremely funny, looking at you “defending” her, while the person she was beefing with is kinda just standing there like: ._.

A sentence you often hear from your girlfriend on a daily basis is something along the lines of “hey babe, chill” while she placing her hands on her hips and looking down at you with those judgy eyes, meanwhile you’re standing there all like: >:(

You and Sasha do tend to get into arguments, and boy they can get quite heated. The main reason for this is probably because neither of you back down easily, and you’re both pretty aggressive arguers. The arguments are usually over some stupid thing too like “cheese is way better than ham, face it Waybright!” “No, you listen here L/n, HAM IS SUPERIOR!!”

Sasha loves to just randomly pick you up, especially since you squeal and frantically shake around when she does it. It’s also a pretty easy task for her to do since the blond is a whole lot taller then you, and she finds it super enjoyable.

Another thing the cheerleader does a LOT is to simply hug you close to her while kissing your face, while you’re kicking and screaming for her to let you go. She does this whenever you get to intense and keeps you there until you run out of energy (which usually doesn’t take that long), and you just give into it with a grumpy look on your face. (Though, inside you actually feel quite happy cuz y’know, free cuddles!)

Sasha also leans on you almost half of the time I swear. “Sashy, honey stop leaning on my head!” “Hmm, lemme think about it.. no” “>:O”

When it comes to Marcy and Anne, they’re… honestly kinda scared of you. Now, don’t take this the wrong way! They absolutely love to have you as a friend and they think you and Sasha are such a cute couple! However, you have quite a strong and unpredictable personality. Nothing wrong with that though, you just make them a bit nervous sometimes, especially Marcy.

In the end, you and Sasha Gaybright Waybright are such a great but chaotic couple. We have Sasha, the cool, laid back and dominant girlfriend, and then there’s you.. the gremlin! Match made in heaven fr.

Run BTS Special Episode Mini Field Day

watching random run BTS episodes and just wanted to say how cute it was that Jungkook's first impulse upon seeing Jimin slide towards him was to drop down and hug him 😭 it was definitely a Jimin Jikook thing because his teammates slid towards him later in the episode and he just dropped and held his hands up with them (although red team did get an adorable team hug later)

they all do this sliding thing throughout the episode, but this was definitely the most adorable iteration imo (although some of the messy team celebrations came in at a close second). Jikook were especially cute and very playful the entire episode and it was funny that they had so many little moments when they were on different teams. I think those moments have been covered to death so I won't go over them but this episode definitely sits close to my heart because it reminded me of why I enjoy their dynamic so much, it's just really adorable and fun with an undercurrent of sweet.

Jimin was like 10000/10 adorable and really cuddly throughout this entire episode though, I forgot how genuinely funny it was too. I think blue teams dynamic was just golden and was surprised by how funny Namjoon in particular was the whole time. Some more Jimin hugs

Even yoongi couldn't resist handing out a hug to comfort Jimin after his failed kick, because like I said, Jimin was like 1000000/10 irresistibly adorable this episode.

Not a hug, but Namjoon going from "don't do something weird" to "nice do everything you want to do" after Jimin's successful goal took me out 😭 blue team was just absolutely hilarious. Jimin said his goal in picking this team was to be funny so I do think he was being a bit chaotic silly on purpose, but some of those mishaps were pretty genuine like that ball bouncing off his helmet and just the absolute uncoordinated but somehow functional chaos of his team. Something I really appreciate about BTS is just how genuinely funny they can be in such a relaxed way sometimes.

Also Jimin's subplot of trying to score a goal the whole time because he wanted to do the slide thing was soooooo funny. I love how even the staff became extra invested in Jimin's plight (and the blue underdog team overall) and Jin even called them out on cheering louder when Jimin made his goal at the end lmao.

A lot of these later run episodes were misses for me so I'm glad they ended it on such a high note with so many great moments that showed how endearing and fun their different dynamics are. Also I didn't mention Taehyung or vmin, but I absolutely loved Taehyung laughing so hard at Jimin's antics throughout the entire episode. I love how much and how hard they make each other laugh, it's absolutely something I've always found really endearing about their friendship.

+ I mean… we all know Mello joined Rod’s gang by bringing him the head of a rival boss. But I’m pretty sure he did it… literally. How else would a gang full of 6′4″ dudes with Uzis ever take him seriously?? I love imagining him arranging an ingenious meeting with Rod one day, like, Mello somehow tricking him into talking with him, and telling him like… “so I heard you were trying to take this dude out, I can do it for you, ya know. lmao not bragging.” and Rod takes one look at him and just starts laughing his ass off. “Kid (which is what he calls Mello, btw)… I’ve lost six men to trying already, and their balls had already dropped.” Then Jose throws his ass into the street. A week later, Mello shows up at the front door of their HQ (how did he find us??? Kal gasps audibly, knowing Rod is going to kick his ass for this because everything is Kal’s fault) with a bloody pillowcase (because gift wrapping is NOT appreciated by any of those no-taste mafiosos…) and says “happy birthday, I work for you now. You’re welcome.”

+So you know that panel where Mello is sitting on the couch back perched behind Rod’s shoulder? Not a headcanon, just wanted you to think about it. :’) Here's another one btw:

+Their relationship actually has a somewhat solid basis of trust and respect. Even though Rod is an absolute maniac sometimes and would gouge your eyes out without a second thought, he’s incredibly intelligent--

Both of them are secretly a little terrified of anybody finding out that they fuck around once and a while. But that's part of the thrill yk? Whenever anybody’s around, Rod always has a hooker on his leg and tries not to pay Mello any mind. But once they’re alone, Mello thinks it’s funny to bring it up.

+Speaking of letting it go too far, Rod allows any amount of verbal abuse, but has broken up more than a couple fistfights Mello’s gotten himself into with other members of the gang by “running that goddamn big mouth of his all the fuckin’ time.”

+While Rod normally backs Mello 110%, as his infallible plans have done nothing but provide a multitude of viable cash flows and absolute territorial dominance, when they have their disagreements (which get.. heated, to say the least), Mello will totally get physical. Rod finds this hilarious, considering he could literally break his neck with one hand. Anyway Rod only fought back once, when he was in a particularly bad mood, and Mello had to show up the next day skulking around with a black eye and fat lip, his lisp way worse than usual. It was the only time after Mello showed up until the day of his death that Kal actually experienced any degree of human happiness. Btw poor Kal. Read the dude's profile in HTR13 if you want a laugh. #AnneofGreenGables

+Mello was actually really surprised by how soft Rod’s scalp is. He totally oils it and his head always smells like aftershave and stale cigar smoke.

+In fact, in addition to both being super scary, they’re both super vain LOL I bet they both get their backs waxed after a long day clothes-shopping… and they both spend forever putting lotion on after their three-hour bubble baths… they spend all morning in front of the mirror while Rod shaves that WHACK design onto his face and Mello does his makeup… neither of them even looks at the other when they’re having sex because they’re too busy American Psycho-ing themselves in the mirrors they have surrounding their bed.

got a little internet who knows if/when it will go away so i am doing a star trek update because i am BEHIND! sunday we watched voy's "revulsion" and "the raven" and last night we watched voy's "scientific method" and ds9's "you are cordially invited."

revulsion (voy):

wasn't too sure about this one at first but in the end i decided the little freak in this episode is the fun kind of freak. hands down my favorite part was when he went on this long horrible rant about how disgusting biologics are and the emh goes with like this forced brightness "and this is the sensor array!" absolutely captures the horrors of listening to your m*ga relatives go on and on and just having to like...deal with it. also, it was incredibly fucking funny

harry and seven were SO cute but i wish he hadn't tried to woo her and i wish she hadn't done that "take off your clothes" thing. that said chakotay being like "suck it up you're gonna keep working with her"was also extremely funny

i do feel like this episode did a lot to humanize seven though, for lack of a better word...i know that chakotay's episodes at the start of voyager were way more racist than the episodes he gets now (not to say the eps he gets now AREN'T racist, but they also aren't playing the racist panflute while he helps janeway find her spirit guide). so it's my hope that eventually the incidents of sexism re: seven will sort of...die down. if they can ever get over her (sigh) catsuit. at least in picard they let her wear real clothes! and don't pad her bra

first of all, my new best friend seven (i knew this would happen, remember?) is EXTREMELY funny. i didn't realize it but the actress has a great sense of like, comedic timing. the whole bit with her slowly learning to chew and swallow food (neelix's cooking, no less) was fucking hilarious, the longer it went on the funnier it was

secondly my other best friend tuvok.............he and seven make such a great pair. i like that at no point did tuvok tell her she was being illogical. he stayed totally calm and helped calm her down and offered to support her through the whole thing without being a bitch because he knows she was sick, even if it was a mental issue and not a physical one. like, bitchy tuvok is fantastic, obviously, but i love that sometimes the logical thing to do is simply show compassion

AND i really loved the entire plot about this being the ship she was taken from...no fucking idea how they got out that far in her 6yo human lifetime but it was awesome to watch her put it together and then the final shot of her looking back as the ship crumbled...mwah

also shoutout to the gay people in this episode...i love when janeway reminds me of kirk and she reminded me of kirk a little bit in this one because of how like. she was so invested in helping seven learn art and finding her when she went missing and like. the bright way she said "there you are!" when she found her on the holodeck at the end. it's that same kind of over-investment kirk shows in spock in tos that goes beyond "friendly" or "coworkers." it was gay as hell

i didn't low tom and b'elanna's plot in this episode but they made up for it in the end by being kinda cute when they were teasing about their entire relationship having been built on alien lies or whatever and then they were getting ready to kiss the whole time. i thought b'elanna was being kind of silly insisting on secrecy when they were making out everywhere and i guess janeway did too because DAMN she gave them one of those big bad scary awful lectures...it was also redeemed by it being REALLY funny when tuvok caught them and he was just like :| because that's just what his face does

sleep deprived pissed off janeway!!!! she was amazing in this ep. another one where she reminded me of kirk, especially with the bit of her threatening to blow them all up at the end. he did canonically do that!!

seven and the doctor were so fun. seven did a great job, she was SO close, but you literally can't get one over on tuvok

the only thing i really hated about this ep was old chakotay. like, sure, fine, make somebody old, but why did they also make him white?? come on

headliner: i have finally forgiven odo. when kira avoided him all episode i was all but hissing at the very sight of him. when she was like "we need to talk" i was like NOOOO because i knew no matter what he did or said i would not be able to let go of my anger. i was so worked up about it that i was BESIDES myself that they skipped to the next morning without showing us what they talked about, and then...

in the closet. all night. all night they talked in the closet

and you know what? it's perfect. if i can't forgive him no matter what he said then simply don't show me what he said. show me kira and odo looking deeply relaxed and having the deepest conversation at like 10 in the morning after HAVING. SPENT. ALL NIGHT. IN THE CLOSET

idk one of my fav things they did was have kira find out about odo's feelings and then nothing changes...like, he can be in love with her and it's not a painful secret but it's also not a demand and they're still friends. that's so complex and good

the rest of this episode: mwah. my best friend quark and his unrequited love. sisko being glad to be home. julian and obrien fantasizing about killing worf and then beating the shit out of him at his own wedding. martok loving getting negged by his wife. jadzia crying into sisko's arms about her husband troubles. mwah. even alexander was funny despite me being lukewarm on him earlier. klutzy disaster isn't who he was in tng, like they just made up a new guy, which is annoying, but it is also charming, so i'll take it

the one thing that got me this ep was like...i was expecting jadzia to succeed in winning this lady's favor by defying her or capitulating to her or by doing some secret third thing, but they...never showed it? she just got married and the lady was like ok we're all good now!!

i also read that they tried to get the tng cast back for worf's wedding, just without lines...i get why they weren't there since it was on;y a week's notice (which may have been part of the reason they decided to do it like that) but can you imagine the fucking jumpscare if i'd seen picard on ds9 season 6. i would have died on the spot

Flufftober 26 - Ex Machina

Nathan Bateman x Reader 

If there was one thing that Nathan Bateman wasn't, it was being funny.

Oh, he was saying that he was really hilarious. The problem was probably that his jokes were far too complex for lower minds to understand, and that the people laughing were all his employees, who therefore felt obliged to please him by forcing themselves to laugh. The rest of the time it was his machines imitating human laughter, because they had been programmed to laugh at their creator's jokes.

Y/N was neither an employee of Nathan, nor one of his machines. She didn't think so anyway, it could become difficult not to lose your head a little when you were alone in a house in the middle of nowhere with a genius who remained locked in his office for hours.

Their relationship wasn't perfect, but no relationship was perfect. They didn't have as many problems as some couples. In any case, that was what Nathan said, citing several studies. They were faithful, they weren't physically violent. He admitted that he sometimes said mean things when he was drunk and tired, in a disagreeable tone, and he mumbled apologies about it.

According to his analysis, the concern was that he was not good at social interactions and that Y/N was asking too much of him.

According to Y/N's analysis, he was indeed not gifted, and her demands were perfectly reasonable.

One of them was quite simple. Don't play pranks on her, especially if they were scary. Y/N didn't like being scared. No one liked being scared.

Unfortunately Nathan wasn't like everyone else, he wasn't afraid of anything, he didn't respect limits and he even thought it was a good thing to face what made us weak, to try to solve this absurd problem.

With Halloween approaching, Y/N was therefore very cautious. She did not speak with him to ask him not to do anything that day. She knew it would have been useless, and if by any chance he had forgotten what day it was, it was not a good idea to remind him. Since he was working on a very important new project that was taking up most of his time, to the point that he sometimes forgot to eat and sleep, it was possible that something as insignificant as Halloween wouldn't be on his top priority.

Except that in the morning, all her hopes were dashed.

           "Hello." he mumbled while taking his coffee before coming to kiss her quickly on the forehead. "Happy Halloween."

           "Ah. Yes. It's today."

           "I don't know if you want to do anything special, but I'm going to be very busy all day. Call me if you need anything, but…Try not to need me."

           "Hmm."

           "Please." he added, thinking she was pouting at his lack of politeness.

Even though Nathan was in his office, that didn't remove the threat. There were cameras and microphones in every room. He could have programmed a lot of pranks without needing to be present for them to activate, and they could watch the result over and over again on his movie screen, proud of his creativity.

It was out of the question.

Y/N stayed a good part of the morning locked in her bedroom, reading a book and watching for the slightest strange sign. Apart from the dimmed light which made the place a little austere, there didn't seem to be any change. A power outage didn't help much, with the room turning red and the door locking, but that wasn't the first time this had happened, and the problem was quickly resolved.

To avoid a bad surprise, Y/N decided to eat outside. There was not much risk on the terrace. Some noises coming from the forest, and the fresh wind, which made her tremble a little, but nothing more. The loneliness, accompanied by rain, forced her to go back inside.

In other circumstances, the sound of rain did not bother her. Y/N even found it quite relaxing. But with the stress and the paranoia, that didn't help the situation at all.

On the sofa, drinking tea while trying to meditate to think of something else, she closed her eyes for a second. Just a second.

Then there was a strange noise in the hallway. A shadow. Without thinking, she got up quickly to go into the kitchen and hide under the table. Which was ridiculous, because you could see her perfectly. But it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

The door opened and Nathan entered the room, very calm, watching the rain, before turning to her and frowning.

           "... What are you doing ?"

           "You, what are you doing ?!" she replied, remaining in her useless hiding place. "I'm not stupid, I know you're up to something. I feel you're watching me with your cameras."

           "Well, in order, I've come to get some water, because I'm out of it in my mini bar, and I do look at you every now and then while I'm working, as always. I have to say you're acting a little weird today."

           "You think you're funny."

           "Yes. I don't see where you are going with that."

           "Halloween. Halloween, Nathan."

They had been together for almost a year, and they had never celebrated Halloween together, so she really didn't know what to expect. Y/N looked at her for a long time, while he made a funny face before sighing, as he always did when she said something he didn't understand, because it was way too silly for him.

           "You hate being scared."

           "Exactly, which makes it even worse !"

           "You. hate. being scared." he repeated slowly, advancing towards her. "I have nothing planned for today. I told you that we will do what you want, when I have finished my work. Or at least when I have progressed, I do not think I will finish today."

           "You… you have nothing planned ? Nothing at all ?"

Nathan sighed again, smiling this time.

Obviously, he wasn't good with people, and he had trouble with boundaries, and their relationship wasn't perfect, but he understood that scaring Y/N would be cruel, that it would have upset her or made her sad, and he didn't want that.

All day, she had scared herself.

           "I feel a little ridiculous now."

           "Only now ? You've been under that table for several minutes already."

           "Oh, shut up." she groaned as she stood up, trying not to pout so as not to look like a child. "I was sure you were going to do something."

           "I thought about it, I admit it. But I really don't have time for that. Now excuse me, I'll take some water and get back to work."

           "I… Can I come with you ? Please ?"

He gazed at her for a long time, probably wondering if she was serious, if she was really afraid to be alone for a few more hours in this big empty house, before nodding, only reminding her that what he was doing was serious, and that he needed silence.

Yet it was he who talked almost nonstop, asking her opinion on his project and even forcing her to sit on his lap, because feeling her gaze on his back disturbed him. He got annoyed when she kissed him on the neck, before groaning when she stopped.

Nathan Bateman wasn't exactly funny. But he wasn't as terrible as people thought either.

Today, I walked my mom down the aisle.

Life's funny sometimes. Not in a hilarious way, but in an ironic way; a way that makes you realize the ideas and opinions you thought you'd always have about it can change, and that the things you feared because you didn't understand them really aren't so big and scary after all.

Last autumn, when Mom told me that she was going to marry Julian, I was upset. It wasn't because I didn't want her to be happy, but because I was scared of the change it would represent. I'd gotten used to it being just her and me, and I didn't know what would happen to our close, comfortable family dynamic if it were altered so drastically.

I didn't want a stepfather. The idea felt so much like a betrayal of my dad’s memory that I did not want to accept it, and I had to force myself to push through the cloud of grief and confusion in my mind to try and see the good in the situation.

When we talked about it that day, Mom told me Julian is her soulmate, and although I wasn't quite ready to see it at the time, I believed her nevertheless. Calling someone your soulmate isn't something you say lightly, and if Mom had found that with Julian the same way I'd found it with Yuri, I knew I had to make the effort not just to be okay with their marriage, but to say honestly that I was glad for them.

It was in January, when Mom and Julian came to Japan to be with me after my accident, when I really began to see the truth for myself.

When they first got there, Mom was a wreck, probably from a combination of travelling and worrying about me and Yuri. She was trying to hide it, but I know her too well for her to get that past me. It was pretty obvious she wasn't getting it past Julian either, but he didn't draw attention to it. I saw the way he supported her, the reassuring touches and the little looks that said I'm here for you.

It also wasn't lost on me how well he looked after me. He treated me with almost the same care as Mom did, like any good father would do for his son. In all the years since my father died, Julian had never tried to step into his shoes, had never once presumed he could replace him, yet he loved me as if I was his own son anyway.

Figuring that out was what really made it hit home for me. Julian had been in Mom's life — in my life — the entire time, but I'd been in denial about what we were all going through. I'd been hanging on so tightly to my memories of Dad, I couldn't see that Julian wanted to give me what I'd been craving all along. He understood my loss and grief, and he wanted to take care of me and let me know I wasn't alone.

Julian had been one of my dad's best friends. His pain at Dad's passing may not have been exactly the same as mine, but I think it was just as deep, and I think it tore out the same Thomas Nelson-sized hole in his heart. But, he never intended to make himself fit into that gap in my soul. He just wanted us to help each other heal.

Julian and I had some good talks while he and Mom were with us in Mt. Komorebi. I felt like I got to know him in ways I never had before, ways in which adults get to know other adults. It was the proper moment for it. He could never have shared some of it before because there are things that are just too heavy for a child to grasp.

My moment of genuine acceptance came when Julian echoed my mom's sentiment of several months prior.

"Grace is my soulmate," he said. There was absolute certainty in his voice. "I don't believe in love at first sight, but there's a point where you just... know."

"It's hard to explain, isn't it?" I said. "But, I know what you mean."

"I know you do."

"Mom said she knew you were her soulmate too, even though she was married to Dad."

Julian nodded. "She and your dad were already married when I met them. When I realized how I felt, I told Thomas about it, even though I knew what it might mean for me and for the future. I just.... wanted to be honest. Thomas was my friend too, and I didn't want to cause any problems."

"He trusted you," I said.

"He did, and I respected him. I promised him that nothing would ever happen and that I'd never interfere with their marriage, and I never did. I'm not sure if Grace even knows Thomas and I had that conversation."

"I don't think she does," I said. "She talked to me about this a while back, and I think she believes you tried to hide it or like, maybe you tried to pretend your real feelings for her didn't exist."

"Well, she wouldn't be wrong about that last part. I did try to talk myself into believing I didn't really feel that way about her, but that was practically impossible. All I was doing was torturing myself, so I made up my mind to just be grateful she and Thomas were both in my life, and to love her in the only way I could, as a friend."

If nothing else had convinced me Mom and Julian were meant to be together, that did.

What Julian did is the most selfless thing I can think of. I mean, you don't sacrifice your own happiness or your own dreams and desires for somebody you don't love. He could've caused trouble or he could've just moved on, but he didn't do either of those things. He stayed and he waited. Even after Dad died he waited until the time was right, and I think if Dad had lived, Julian would've spent an entire lifetime waiting and quietly loving her in his heart.

And Mom… I know she loved Dad regardless of him not being her soulmate, and I’m positive she would’ve stayed faithful to him no matter what. She could’ve acted on her feelings for Julian, but she held back because she must’ve known what it would do to his friendship with my father, not to mention the impact it would’ve had on Caroline and me. She loved all of us enough to protect us from the potential consequences of that, even if it meant she might never be more than Julian’s business partner and friend .

If people like them don’t deserve to be rewarded with happiness, then I don't know who does.

So, this afternoon, when the officiant asked, "Who gives this woman to be married?" I came forward without any hesitation or fear.

"I do, with joy and pride," I said.

Julian stepped out to meet us, and I placed Mom's hand in his. Then, I took my place in the line of groomsmen, next to Uncle Stephen.

I couldn't keep the smile off my face for the rest of the afternoon.

The day itself was practically flawless. The sun was out, and the air was warm and not too humid. It was the perfect afternoon for an outdoor wedding in Magnolia Park.

Mom and Julian had hired an event planner, and their people took care of all the arrangements like catering, decorating, flowers and setting up all the tables and chairs and everything. They even moved in a baby grand piano, which Mr. Okamoto later said was almost as nice to play as his own piano back home.

Mom looked beautiful in her white gown. She had her hair done up in an elegant style that Yuri said was called a French twist. I don't know much about hairstyles, so I had to take his word for that. All I know is, it looked amazing.

Something else I learned from Yuri — in advance of the wedding, fortunately — is that there's a tradition where a bride should have five things on her wedding day, for luck. It's not a Japanese tradition, so I'm not sure where Yuri found out about it, but I'm guessing it was from all the romance novels and movies he likes to read and watch. There's even a rhyme to help people remember:

Something old, something new, Something borrowed, something blue, And a penny in your shoe.

Mom's 'something new' was her dress. The thing that was both old and borrowed was my great-grandmother DeLuca's wedding tiara.

I hadn't known that Nonna Isabella and Grandpa Giancarlo were coming, and I'm not sure Mom did either. She'd invited them, of course, because who doesn't invite their own parents to their wedding? But, I was under the impression they'd declined, citing their age, and the length of the journey from Tartosa, and the fact that since Mom and Julian were honeymooning in Italy anyway, they would see them soon enough. So, when Leo called me two days before the wedding and asked if I wanted to ride with him to the airport to pick up our grandparents, I was surprised.

Apparently they'd decided last-minute, or as Grandpa Giancarlo put it, "Your grandmother, she change our minds the day before yesterday."

With Grandpa Giancarlo, it's hard to tell if he says stuff like that because he reached a plateau when it came to learning English, or if he's actually trying to be funny. Knowing Nonna Isabella, though, there was more likelihood it was a fact than a comedic fiction. I can totally hear her being like, "Giancarlo, we're going to Canada!" and then making him scramble to get ready to depart.

Nonna brought the tiara with her. She explained that her own mother had worn it, she'd worn it, and now it was Mom's turn. I didn't ask why she hadn't given it to Mom to wear when she married my dad. I'm sure she must've had her reasons.

As for the 'something blue' part of the rhyme, that item came from Yuri and me. My lovely Yuri had the foresight to bring the pocket square from my wedding suit, and he said I should let Mom carry it with her. Not even gonna lie about how much I cried over that.

Yuri folded and pinned the pocket square into a little fan shape, and we gave it to her together. Her flowers and the accent colours for all the decorations were pink, but nevertheless she tucked the little blue fan into her bouquet, on display for everyone to see.

The penny in her shoe was actually a one yen coin, supplied by Yuki because, "You can't forget the last part, Auntie Grace!"

In the evening, there was an after-party, where everybody got to congratulate the new bride and groom, some people drank champagne, and most of us danced. Yuri and Mr. Okamoto provided the music for the first two dances, but after that it was all recorded music for the rest of the evening. The party took place in the same event space at the hotel in Newcrest where we'd had Julian's bachelor party just a few nights earlier, and we had the same DJ from the bachelor party too.

Grandpa Giancarlo gave a speech that had everyone at the party roaring with laughter by the time he was done. Uncle Stephen and I said a few words, and so did Julian's parents and Ellie.

Mom and Julian had their first dance together, and then, when it should've been time for the father-daughter dance, Grandpa got up, bowed gallantly and swept a hand in my direction.

"You dance, Victor," he said. "You gave away a lot more today than I did."

I wanted to tell him that wasn't correct. Today, I finally, fully understood what I'd been trying to persuade myself of since last November. I hadn't given away anything, and I'd gained so much; a stepfather, a stepsister, the comfort of knowing my mom had someone to love and protect her, and a sense that one more piece of the grand puzzle of our intertwined lives had slipped into place. For the first time in a long while, I felt completely at peace.

Even though everybody was watching, Mom and I danced as if nobody was. The song she'd chosen for this moment was The Butterfly Waltz, and although I'd heard Yuri play it dozens of times, I wasn't prepared for how beautiful it would sound with Yuri and his father playing it as a violin and piano duet.

What a fitting choice of a song, I thought. We're all a little bit like butterflies, really. Each of us has changed in big or small ways, all emerging into the light as someone different than we were before. Change isn't always something to fear. In fact, sometimes it can be good, and the experience can teach us important things if only we stop and take the time we need to understand the lesson.

There were a million things I wanted to say to my mom as we spun gently around the dance floor, but I couldn't come up with the right words for any of them. So, I simply told her I love her and that I'm happy for her. I think she understood there was a lot more on my mind, and maybe she had a lot she wanted to say to me too, but the smile she gave me told me it was all right not to speak. There would be time later to say all we needed to.

This, her smile seemed to say, isn't a moment for deep conversation. It's a moment to feel all the love surrounding us and to celebrate it.

And celebrate we did. Some people will feel the effects in the morning, but I doubt anyone who was there will say it wasn't worth it.
