i took a semester of mandarin chinese in community college forever ago and this is something i found that is catchy and quirky and funny and memorable. it's part 1 of a 4 video playlist. actually really helpful if you pay attention to the shape of the mouse's mouth. the grouped consonants all have the same mouth shape with sequentially further back positioning of the tip of the tongue on the roof of your mouth fyi

it hurts to let go of what you’ve grown, of what you’ve known. when you’ve nurtured something—whether it’s a relationship, a dream, or even a belief—there’s a natural attachment to it. letting go often feels like a loss, stirring up fear and uncertainty about the future. it’s easy to get stuck in that fear, thinking that clinging to the past will keep you safe. but try not to resist this change. let go, even when it feels uncomfortable, because holding on too tightly only stifles what’s meant to bloom next 🍂🧸🍄‍🟫🌅🫧

I know there's a level of catharsis in watching the current administration fall out in fits of emotional dysregulation, but it is not, like, amusing or vindicating that anyone is calling for Elon Musk's deportation. He's a naturalized citizen; deportation shouldn't even be a thought in anyone's head. But, it's become a national conversation because the administration has been deporting persons (including citizens) without due process — most of whom don't have Elon Musk's resources. This isn't comeuppance, this isn't equalizing, this is indicative of a flagrant disregard for the rule of law and the rights enshrined therein—and stripping US residents of legal rights based entirely on their nationality of origin has, historically, accompanied vicious escalations of systemic and generational violence like internment camps and nationality-based immigration freezes.
