Hii :D
I picked this one for today because I‘m thinking a lot about this lately :)
What would your dream home look like?
Or maybe a bit easier: What is one thing your dream home would definitely have?
Have a restful Saturday 🧡

Uhh cool question!
I'd love a home of a size where it's both small and cosy yet big enough to store art supplies, get the painting isle out, start random sewing projects... Just enough space to be creative in, but not too much space to loose myself in.
And for my cat it has to be somewhere where he can go outside, go on his outdoor adventures and climb up as many trees as he wants to.

You just know the NYT has a “style guide” for this sort of thing.
Maybe someone there should get fed up and leak it.

This is one I missed earlier, it's from 19:10pm GMT on the 9th of November 2023, so almost 2 hours ago
This is DEEPLY fucking concerning. It also explains the earlier report about Reuters denying they had prior knowledge too. I can see them using this as 'justifiable cause' for targeting journalists.
In the way they claim Hamas is in every mosque, ambulance, portaloo, I'm waiting for them to start saying the journalists they murder were ones who recorded footage from the 7th.

Had a dream last night about Adventure Time. In it, Finn and Jake were talking and Jake offhandedly mentioned being attracted to femboys. Suddenly a small round two-legged white creature with big eyes and no arms/wings, flew in from the right side of the screen and landed next to them. The creature sang a jingle that went “Na na na na na, you’re canonically bisexual!” to which Finn and Jake replied “Thanks LGBTQ Princess!” and high fived

The New York Times instructed journalists covering Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip to restrict the use of the terms “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing” and to “avoid” using the phrase “occupied territory” when describing Palestinian land, according to a copy of an internal memo obtained by The Intercept.
The memo also instructs reporters not to use the word Palestine “except in very rare cases” and to steer clear of the term “refugee camps” to describe areas of Gaza historically settled by displaced Palestinians expelled from other parts of Palestine during previous Israeli–Arab wars. The areas are recognized by the United Nations as refugee camps and house hundreds of thousands of registered refugees.
The memo — written by Times standards editor Susan Wessling, international editor Philip Pan, and their deputies — “offers guidance about some terms and other issues we have grappled with since the start of the conflict in October.”
While the document is presented as an outline for maintaining objective journalistic principles in reporting on the Gaza war, several Times staffers told The Intercept that some of its contents show evidence of the paper’s deference to Israeli narratives.
[...]
Despite the memo’s framing as an effort to not employ incendiary language to describe killings “on all sides,” in the Times reporting on the Gaza war, such language has been used repeatedly to describe attacks against Israelis by Palestinians and almost never in the case of Israel’s large-scale killing of Palestinians.
In January, The Intercept published an analysis of New York Times, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times coverage of the war from October 7 through November 24 — a period mostly before the new Times guidance was issued. The Intercept analysis showed that the major newspapers reserved terms like “slaughter,” “massacre,” and “horrific” almost exclusively for Israeli civilians killed by Palestinians, rather than for Palestinian civilians killed in Israeli attacks.
The analysis found that, as of November 24, the New York Times had described Israeli deaths as a “massacre” on 53 occasions and those of Palestinians just once. The ratio for the use of “slaughter” was 22 to 1, even as the documented number of Palestinians killed climbed to around 15,000.

Happy Friday 🥳
A nice one to end the week:
What is the kindest thing someone has ever done for you?
I hope you have a good start to the weekend 🧡
- 🌵
I have been thinking about this for way too long but I cannot come up with a good answer (and not just because my memory is bad).
Over the years, I have had so many moments where strangers and friends alike have shown me incredible kindness: showed me patience, helped me learn new things, supported me and believed in me. Even on here, there are so many accounts being kind and enthusiastic about my stuff even if they didn't know me 5min before. It's hard to describe all the ways people have shown me kindness.
Or when @honelle56 immediately drove over and drove me and my cat to the emergency vet when he was in pain and I didn't know what was wrong. And she sat with me in the waiting room for hours in the middle of the night while we were waiting for the vet to update us on my cat (little idiot is fine again, it was luckily just an infected bite wound that healed perfectly in the few weeks after).
I am lucky to be surrounded by so many kind people :)

A self love night time routine 🌙🧸🪞🤍✨
Your night time routine is all about dedicating time to yourself. Your routine should be tailored to what makes YOU feel relaxed, loved, and cared for. You can add or modify any of these steps to make it perfect for you.
Cleanse & skin care routine. This isn’t just about hygiene. Cleansing your skin can also cleanse the day's stresses away. Remove makeup (if you wear it). Use a gentle cleanser. Apply toner, serums, or treatments if you use them. Moisturize to keep your skin hydrated.
Spend a few minutes decluttering and organizing so you can go to sleep with a clear mind.
Prepare for tomorrow. Pick out your clothes, prepare your lunch and create your to do list so you wake up with a plan of action.
Set aside electronics, especially those that might interrupt your relaxation (phones, laptops). Put them on the other side of the room, or another room to avoid distractions.
Spend a few minutes journaling or meditating on your day. Write down three things you're grateful for as well as your achievements or progress.
Make a herbal tea or warm milk. Stay away from caffeine, they will interfere with your sleep.
If you enjoy baths, now might be the time to have one with calming salts or essential oils. If you prefer showers, use this time to enjoy the sensation of the water, rather than rushing through it.
Spend a few minutes practicing deep breathing, grounding exercises, or meditation to calm your mind.
Choose a book, avoid anything too stimulating or stress inducing.
Stand in front of a mirror and speak kind words to yourself. Use positive affirmations that resonate with you, like “I am worthy of love and happiness” or “I did my best today, and that's enough.”
Dress in comfortable nightwear, ensuring your sleeping environment is cozy. This could be clean sheets and a comfortable pillow.
Dim the lights, play calming music or nature sounds, or use an essential oil diffuser with lavender or chamomile.
Before closing your eyes to sleep, visualize a peaceful scene or a memory that makes you happy.
As you lie in bed, silently express gratitude for the day. Set a positive intention for the next day.
Get full night's sleep. Make sure you’re getting 7-9 hours depending on your personal needs.

OKAY so apparently there is a rare type of migraine called a hemiplegic migraine that displays symptoms similar to a stroke, and after a fun little ambulance ride and CT scan I compiled my notes into a timeline of personal symptoms for fitness and for fun
Sharing because why not
Normal visual snow blurs slightly, making reading difficult
Spotty vision, large 'afterimage' type flashes blocking vision, partial blindness
Gradual descent into disorientation, confusion, "floaty" feeling, decreased cognitive function, slightly decreased fine motor function, slightly decreased gross motor function
Trembling in hands
Cold sweat
Mild abnormal difficulty with speech
Cold, tingling numbness of left arm, left side of face, left side of tongue, and roof of mouth.
Rapid increasing pain in left eye, right side of head that peaks at 1 hour, lasting between 5-7 hours, somewhat alleviated by heat packs, ice packs, direct pressure, and OTC pain medication
Mild to moderate nausea
Return of physical sensation after approximately 20 minutes from onset
Gradual return of vision- full return of vision after approximately 2 hours from onset
Gradual return to full cognitive function after approximately 4 hours from onset, along with full return to normal motor function
Continued mild headache in top right side of head for roughly 4 days following
Abnormal increase in fatigue
Return to full normal function

In Knives Out Blanc wanted to do the murder mystery investigation with Marta so bad, but she was certain she was guilty so she spent a good amount of the movie avoiding/hiding stuff from him
Meanwhile in Glass Onion Helen was fucking carrying the investigation, even while accidentally getting drunk, and even went to investigation lengths Blanc was hesitant to do
