#just... going through it

feeling sort of anxious and sensitive tonight. i want to talk about it, and ask the crowd/my followers/my mutuals a question.

i have been in college for six years. when i graduate next year, that'll mean i'll have been in college for seven.

some of this was my fault. academic mistakes are easy to make, especially when the american education system is so confusing to navigate.

and some of it was intentional. i was afraid to grow up, to move on. so i took my sweet time. that will end. next summer, i'll graduate with a bachelor's in english.

which means that *this* summer, will be my last official one as a student. i won't be pursuing grad school next year, or probably any time within the next five years. so this is it. the summer after this one will involve the grand job hunt, and moving out of my college town. and doing the Big Things.

so. my question. put yourself in my shoes for a moment. if this was going to be your last summer, how would you spend it? you're young, you've got decent transport, the budget isn't huge, but you can definitely plan well, and a few larger day trips or events are possible without damaging the bank account too much.

what would you do?

because i haven't the faintest clue how to use the opportunities i have.

Watching my first watch through of SPN ever. I’m on season 9 and as someone who has been on tumblr since ancient times but didn’t actually get in to it, I think everyone DOWNPLAYED how crazy Destiel is. How did veterans survive that….. It’s just. What. What am I watching. Why does Deans voice get SOFT when he talks to Cas particularly??? Why did Dean ditch Sam to watch Cas at the supermarket???? I think because of the meme I was convinced it was cas who was the one obviously in love but. No. It’s Dean. And it’s embarrassing for him. This is crazy but Destiel fans weren’t crazy y’all were on to something all this time…..

as i grow older and age in fandom especially, i have waning patience for 2012 style fandom wars. i don't have time for the type of person who goes "why is this the 2nd top ship on ao3 when it bugs me", i don't have the energy to be friends with people who go "i specifically expressed dislike for this ship and people still write it?" and i have absolutely no time for someone who goes "this very personal trauma i have projected onto this random character and ship should be recognized and agreed by everyone else, otherwise they're bad people"

imagine an au where shen yuan transmigrates into a blank slate npc with very little system involvement, traveling around for a while until he's found by yue qingyuan and taken back to the sect because apparently shen qingqiu went missing around his transmigration period and shen yuan looks exactly like him, so it must be him, but then a few weeks later when he's just settled in on the peak and accepted his fate the real shen qingqiu shows up who was just on vacation and everyone forgot.

now there are two shen qingqiu's, one of whom is the real one and the other an amnesiac they gaslighted into believing he is shen qingqiu.

anyway—shen qingqiu has a new didi now!
