She used to serve as a knight for the kingdom of Crimea but became deputy commander of the Greil mercenaries. She’s super cool, very useful in combat, has a huge axe, and is a mother like figure to the other mercenaries. Also her class is literally paladin.

Kit Tanthalos (Willow (TV series))

she spends the entire show hating this one girl (elora) and then basically swears an oath of protection to her while pulling the both of them off a cliff at the literal edge of the world in the second to last episode. she's the princess that's never really taken seriously and elora is the One True Heir of the kingdom or whatever the fuck. immediately after this it is discovered that not only do they both only have one braincell but that when they are the only two people present they start sharing one. this entire quest has been to save kit's brother who elora kind of had a romance with. also kit gets a cool magic armor piece that very much behaves like mjolnir (only works for those it deems worthy)

She-Hulk Overall Season Review

The Good

Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk

What kept me engaged with the show was how Jennifer Walters was portrayed by Tatiana Maslany. She gives a level of fun, charisma, and sincerity to the character while delivering fun lines. I also found her journey very fascinating compared to the oversaturated market of MCU Superheroes with someone who doesn’t want to be a superhero. I loved that it wasn’t another traditional superhero origin show but how an average person deals with the MCU madness. In the first episode, Jen and Bruce get into a conversation about how she’s choosing to go back to her normal life instead of embracing the good and bad of being a superhero. Jen wants to live a normal life by still being a lawyer and does so in the finale while also being a superhero in a way that doesn’t require big fights to win.

On the contrary to popular media, Jen Walters isn’t a “feminist icon who hates men” but rather a woman who experiences the problems that come with being a woman. There are subtle themes about how the males tell Jen when to transform and how she’s perceived by society. The eighth and ninth episodes show how Jen “Hulking out” is only shown throughout media coverage without actually covering why she did so or the attack on her, only make it about the spectacle rather than the person being impacted like Peter Parker in No Way Home. It also intersects that she’s also a Hulk who lost control like how Bruce Banner was like, but making it more her as an out of control public figure instead of a mindless monster.

Episode 7 “The Retreat”

This is one of my favorite episodes for how it characterizes Jen’s perception of She-Hulk with her superhero persona as something that everyone loves while no one wants Jen Walters. After being ghosted by Josh, Jen becomes upset that a guy she liked essentially made her feel like she wasn’t good enough from both sides. There’s also a whole session with the “reformed” Emil Blonsky, the Abomination, and other superhuman people that actually seem to have a genuine want to better themselves.

Episode 8 “Ribbit and Rip it”

Daredevil. Enough said.

But seriously, Matt Murdock returning to the MCU with a less darker attitude made it interesting to see Charlie Cox’s more comedic skills. The courtroom scene with Jen and Matt arguing the case for superhero anonymity was very satisfying to see, as well as a fight between Jen’s Hulk powers and Daredevil’s agility.

Jen’s anger at the end was realistically justified in a way that reflects how most women who’ve been attacked felt. Jen was targeted and embarrassed in front of her colleagues but made into someone who didn’t “need” to get angry, which I think is bullshit because she should get angry. 

Episode 9 “Whose Show is This?”

The Finale ends with Jen literally breaking the fourth wall to change the ending to her show that makes the most sense. I loved the way they incorporated the level of power she possesses with breaking the fourth wall as she literally took control of her narrative in her show. It’s kind of weirdly hilarious to see Kevin Feige portrayed as a supercomputer who makes all movie decisions. I also love that the show didn’t end with a huge battle of brawn but Jen using her legal skills to persuade KEVIN into a new direction.

The Flawed

Episode 3 “ The People vs Emil Blonsky”

This episode felt the weakest out of the series for the Light Elf court case as it seemed misplaced for some reason just to have Megan thee Stallion be a cameo. The CGI can also be seen at its most obviously bad on She-Hulk.

Supervillains

I felt the “supervillains” like Titania didn’t go anywhere in terms of story as she could have been a foil in how Titania could represent the illusion of strength in terms of character and morality like she’s putting on a show for an audience.

Don’t get me wrong, having Intelligencia as a reddit-type hate forum for She-Hulk was good to serve the story, but I just felt Todd as a threat wanting Jen’s blood kind of typical MCU bad guy. Making Jen fight a more social and/or legal threat than a physical one was much more interesting and the whole reason for the show as a legal comedy.

The Result

She-Hulk is a flawed but unique show that takes the step into actually changing up the status quo of DIsney+ MCU shows by making itself into a more comedic show compared to the forced humor in the more serious shows like Moon Knight or Loki. For season 2, I think Jen will try establishing her own firm while also dealing with the fallout of Intelligencia’s attack, as well as more legal drama and court room scenes that establishes Jen’s skills as a lawyer more clearly.

Yes. They will. A chorus of assent rises from their collective throats in unanimous, simultaneous answer.

… AR-1368 knows that she is fortunate. Overwhelmingly, the vast majority of the Iron Cavalry do not have the opportunity of seeing Her Majesty in person. After all, the Swarm Propagates endlessly among the stars, and there is always a pressing need for new Knights to rise and promptly take their places upon the battlefield –sometimes even straight from their incubation pods, when critical circumstances call for it. What little contact the Knights have with Her Majesty is through the quiet ideas and impressions that are sent to them, the telepathic directives that Her Majesty guides the Iron Cavalry with.

That, and the dreams.

… But for Personal Escort models, who are specifically designed to protect their Queen, they also receive the honor of being permitted to accompany Her Majesty. To remain in her presence, in a more physical sense of things.

The first time that AR-1368 sees Her Majesty is exactly a week after she steps outside of the dark, sterile incubation chambers.

It’s…

Indescribable, the feeling of wonder and awe that one feels when standing in the presence of the Queen. To gaze upon Her Majesty and know what devotion is. But at the same time, there’s also something that’s… that’s not quite…

… AR-1368 doesn’t know how to articulate it, this strange feeling that stirs inside her when she sees Her Majesty still and unmoving, suspended within a glowing blue liquid in the glass chamber. There is some nameless emotion that constricts her throat for a brief moment, but she cannot put a name to it. AR-1364 can’t quite decipher it, either, and he’s the most verbose and expressive unit of their batch.

AR-1368 doesn’t understand.

… But the confusion is swiftly replaced by wonder, and a faint nervousness-excitement when Her Majesty turns her attention to them. She greets them easily, her presence a cold, gentle brush upon their minds. Not intruding, never intruding, but a steady sea of calm, crested with an ever-faint flicker of curiosity.

Hello.

There is a strong juxtaposition between the lovely, melodic voice AR-1368 hears in her mind, and the harsh, robotic voice that echoes out in their surroundings at the same time. One that’s almost a little… jarring.

“Hello to you as well, Titania. As of today, AR-1364, AR-1367, and AR-1368 will be added to your personal retinue,” the Chief Scientist said. “Improvements have been made to the newest iteration of the Type-Vs.”

What of the old guard?

“Unfortunately, they’re a complete loss,” the Chief Scientist responds. “Most were destroyed completely during the evacuation process from the previous facility. The survivors… suffered too much damage. Our scientists tried their best, but it was determined that it would be more efficient to salvage usable remains instead of–”

The lights in the room flicker, suddenly unstable. For a moment, everything is cold.

The Chief Scientist frowns. “Titania?”

… It may be efficient in terms of resources, but experience is more important than raw materials, and far more difficult to replace.

In the surrounding room, the Queen’s voice is cold and robotic. But within her mind, AR-1368 can feel the glacial tone seep through her, the Queen’s cold displeasure chilling to the bone. She is not the only one; beside her, she catches a glimpse of AR-1364 flinching slightly.

It’s good that the Chief Scientist does not catch this break in formation, because AR-1364 would be sent for retraining otherwise. But the hoarfrost cold recedes immediately, and a phantom warmth washes over them, tinged with a faint note of something… apologetic.

Is that… Her Majesty?

“Titania,” the Chief Scientist says, voice infinitely patient in a way that indicates this is a topic that has been discussed multiple times before, “We can always make more of them. Focus on directing the war effort, and we will devote our efforts towards providing you with all the Knights you need in order to carve a future for Glamoth beyond the abhorrent Swarm.”

Choose Your Legends 8 ended with lots of surprises, and it's time to celebrate!

I've seen concerning amounts of salt and bashing on the games involved or not, so this will be a positive post! I'm tired of the fandom's dumb takes and toxicity so let's praise everyone for the amazing scores and stories that unfolded during this vote!

CYL 8 Male winners:

🥇1: Alfonse | A beautifully deserved win for our well-written OC lord who keeps the story of Heroes entertaining with his crazy one-liners and unhinged plans, with more tender moments with his family and friends to soften him. I hope we get to see him grown-up like Legendary Veronica.

🥈2: Felix | I love seeing non-lord characters emerge from the voting. His voters have shown their supports 4 years in a row and it paid off! Especially nice win because Felix has been shafted by IS with a silly seasonal and an ok god-sword pre-TS unit.

CYL 8 Female winners:

🥇1: Bernadetta | Just like Felix, her voters lost to circumstances (aka the surprise Gullveig sweep), so I'm glad for them! Plus her post-TS personality should force the writers to tone down the moe nervous trait that flanderizes her character.

🥈2: Female Robin | She's finally free to be in the common summoning pool as herself, not Grima! She has too few alts to her name, and she marks the first time both genders of an avatar have won CYL, so good job!

About the Engage non-sweep, don't get disheartened! The votes for Engage were equal to Three Houses, but they were split between A LOT of fan favourites for both genders, while the FE3H fans rallied one last time for 1 male and 1 female representation, without competition from their lords. It's a respectable result, and the bashing on Engage is disingenuous and undeserved.

I've seen the top 5 from each game and I'm happy to see Finn up there for Thracia and Mae for Echoes. I hope to see Linoan soon, and other alts for Berkut and Rinea. People rallied for Athos to get in the game already, for Lloyd to have new art, for Seth and Titania to get the stats they deserve...

Fan favourites like Lyon or the Black Knight still score high. Azura received love. Even Elincia who's already been very lucky in 2023 got in the top for PoR and RD! I love to see people rally for a Sentinel Nephenee too.

We continue to see Leo and Takumi side by side, chilling in the male top 20 like BFFs. It's adorable.

This CYL8 follows in the steps of CYL7 with no main lords, only favourites and avatars.

Next year I hope to see Jugdral and Elyos win, but for now I'm happy with the 4 we have 🥰
