Head in hands. And then they all happened to be self sacrificial idiots.
Infinitely delighted by the fact that Optimus automatically decided to catch whoever was falling and only look who that was afterwards. 100/10. Peak Optimus writing.

Jubilant day!! We don't have to pollute the ocean anymore!! Thank goodness for futuristic technology, hey?

We were going to ripscan these deserter prisoners for high subcores, but that plan is out the window now because I can't bring myself to break them up. The new plan is to recruit them and then ship them off to an outpost—a new one, with just the two of them—to start new lives together.
Speaking of boys in love...

Look, Ivy! You're Kwahu's new heiress! I doubt you'll ever reap the benefits of this, because I don't plan on letting him die anytime soon, but it's a nice gesture nonetheless.

in todays "it's probably not that deep but--" lucanis post:
i'm gonna start this with a bold statement:
lucanis doesn't think about rook (much).
hear me out. in inner demons, when you are in his mind, we see these ideas of how he thinks he's perceived by everyone, and how he perceives people; family, contracts, enemies. all these people are conjured in his mind, in this prison he's yet to escape. his own mind is as dangerous as he is.
when you find him, he immediately asks "what are you doing here, rook?"
he immediately knows it's you. it's not an idea of you, not a trick or the mind, it's you. "rook can't be here." and with romance specific dialogue, he says "you should go. it's better i stay here than risk losing you."
so does he want rook out of his head to stop himself from coming up with reasons to keep rook away from him entirely? is he afraid the longer rook stays and learns his mind, the more rook will fear/distrust him?
and with that, does he then do his absolute best to just not think about rook when they're not around? not just because of the demon inside him, but himself? the culmination of the training and contracts and backstabbing and torture he's endured, leaving him to think he's too broken and messy and professional for friends or anything more? as a man that has little left to lose and is afraid to do so, he's just as - if not more - afraid to gain?
that rook is the one solid and neutral ground he has and therefore doesn't want them involved in a tortured mind? and that, if romanced, that's half the reason why there's an almost kiss because he panics, "i need to clear my head"?
and then tearstone island happens, and rook is gone for weeks. they're not around anymore. the only way to see rook is to imagine them, think about them. and all lucanis can think about is how he'll never see rook again. rook's lost despite his efforts.
at that point, what's left to lose but himself?

Having thoughts on The Acolyte.
I've seen a lot of commentary about how the show doesn't feel like Star Wars because it's not a hopeful show. Hope is central to Star Wars, and I think this commentary is fair at a surface level, especially given the other Star Wars stories already told, but (for me, at least) the show still feels like Star Wars and here's why.
It is a show that focuses on misguided viewpoints. The politicians have a misguided view of the Jedi. The Force cult have opposing views of the Jedi. The Sith of course have a skewed view of the Jedi. We are shown several flawed Jedi making questionable, misguided choices. I had no expectations going into this series that it was ever going to paint the Jedi in a kind light-- because it's a Sith story.
The hope that's featured in the show is a personal sort, not a broad, overarching hope for mankind and the future. It's about small, personal hopes for something better or, more often, something that the characters feel they deserve. It's mostly rooted in ridding oneself of what's holding them back and embracing personal freedom. That's great on the surface! But if you look closely, it fits right into the Sith code.
Mae is driven by a sense of (from her point of view) justice to avenge the death of her mother and her people. Osha hasn't come to terms with her anger and grief and her belief that Mae's actions fully resulted in the loss of her mother and people and had buried those emotions rather than facing them as the Jedi would teach her. Osha's journey is one of apparent truth and clarity. There is truth in the reality that Sol was wrong in his actions (misguided and well-intentioned as he was). It isn't necessarily wrong that Osha is angry at the lies she was told. Instead of burying or facing her negative emotions, she embraces them under the guise of facing the truth of them. There's a running theme of "truth in freedom, freedom in truth" to what's being offered to the dark side characters in the show.
Osha and The Stranger clasp hands over her dead Jedi Master's bled lightsaber and stare out into the sunset while Vernestra covers up recent events to the Chancellor and meets with Yoda in private. It's framed as freeing and hopeful for our Sith-aligned characters because it is-- for them. For the Jedi, it is damning. These are two statements that can coexist. And yet, through Osha's agreement with The Stranger and Mae's memory erasure, we are presented a crumb of hope for Mae's future with Vernestra.
This is very much a Sith story, not a Jedi story, and I think once that's taken into consideration the apparent lack of hope in the story makes perfect sense. It's a different kind of hope, underlined by a grim reality that it is a false hope, the promises of the dark side. It isn't a story the Jedi would tell you~

i’ve just found a way to verbalized why i’m so ambivalent toward most of the batfam and batman-like characters.
it’s because they’re basically cops.
can cop characters be good and enjoyable, hell yeah! i love b99. but the issue is when the narrative is constantly pushing the fact that batman/batfam are in the right, that their actions are morally correct and they are the “good guys” when literally doing anything else in gotham would be better for the city than dressing up as an oversized bat and punching criminals. probably not a hot take but yeah

My Sims 3 Urbz (GBA/DS) Sims
Well, Urbz + like 3 other random sims from other handheld games.
i don't usually play TS3, but since i am actually considering dropping ts4 for it... i wanted another go! and to see what I already did in this game ages ago.
I don't know when most of these were made. At least 2 years ago. I didn't touch them from then (so, they are of... varying qualities. + i probably changed some defaults at some point, so their skin color is... probably also different from what i originally chose), and they don't use any CC outside of defaults nor store content. (I THINK...)
since there's a lot (41 of them), I'll be splitting them across two posts! This one, with 20, and the other one here with 21!

lowering the voting age would be REALLY interesting. Votership is at an all time low, and turning it into a SCHOOL event would be incredible for early politics assignments.

Summary: 11-year-old Billy Batson, after living on his own for a little over two years has the whole taking care of himself down pat. The superhero gig? A little less so. Being parented? No clue what-so-ever. Being parented by his co-worker? He’s pretty sure that might just be a first, although considering the world they live in, he wouldn’t be surprised either. 38-year-old Bruce Wayne, Certified Adult™ totally has the vigilante thing under wraps. The parenting thing? Well, he’s better at it then when he brought home Dick almost 20 years ago now for sure. Parenting an invulnerable 11-year-old superhero? They’ll figure it out, one way or another. Or: Bruce attempts to adopt Billy, feels old, and tries to corral his kids, not necessarily in that order.
