Eli is Canadian?!?

It's never outright canonically stated, BUT Slugterra IS a Canadian show, AND Eli's va, Sam Vincent, is Canadian.

The script has Canadian lingo in there, easiest example of this is Eli calling his slugs "bud". Oh! In ROTE, one of Will's security questions mentions a cabin they used to go to, Canadians are notorious for going to their cabins for vacation!

(Do you know how many of my classmates went to cabins? I was so jealous lol I want to go to a cabin)

Sooo it's 99% likely he is Canadian. Aaaand I'm Canadian and I'm biased soooo, Eli's Canadian for me lol (there's rarely any Canadian mc imo lemme have this 😭)

I like to think he's from the GTA area, from Hispanic heritage.

It's why I included hockey and lacrosse in my poll yesterday, Eli is Canadian, and no one can tell me otherwise 😤😤😤

to anyone, and i mean ANYONE who fucking goes out of their way to make fun of those that enjoy sozo because of what he turned out to be

time in cotl is already very tricky, as followers become really old really quickly, the way i work around this is that i take every day not as a day but as months/years, weird and shit, but the other option is the crown sucking the life out of you making you age fast and i prefer the other option

im happy my post is garnering discussion but honestly i wasnt around for 2018-2021 fandom on tumblr and i was mainly talking about how its kind of silly to get mad at people for portraying colonizer countries as mean, or calling it demonization and stuff. like its okay not to like personally portraying ur fav characters as mean or part of the state, but getting irritated at the fact that it exists or is popular imo kind of misses the fact that this… is the state and nation personification fandom. and its hard to say its not canon when canon did once portray the characters in uniform and at times involved in their state activities… like the early strips discussing western imperialism in china is literally ‘china being bullied by the allies’ ‘france wanting to grope china’ ‘china being treated like a maid’ etc etc like they were very much. the state LOL also china and japan’s canon relationship, as much as I have my issues with it, has an entire thing about china being stabbed by japan… i do feel like hetalia started out as a history nerd’s history exploration that blended humour with ‘what i find cute’ with satire etc etc, which inevitably involves illustrating the personifications as vessels of state and culture, and although the modern strips have deviated quite a bit… well, different people will approach this series for different reasons, right? Whether its serious or comedic content showing the characters as mean or imperialist or unpleasant, it’s not something that deviates too far from canon (if we take all canon eras into consideration) nor is it surprising given how history laden the topic is.

i am so unexplainably sick of things being called basic as if that's a bad thing. so what if someone listens to mainstream music and makes aesthetic instagram posts and watches popular tv shows because if that makes them happy then it's no one else's business. focus on yourself rather than putting other people down for doing what makes them happy.

I just want to say that I really enjoy RWBY, it’s probably one of my favorite shows. And, reading your analyses makes me love it even more.

You’re very good at giving a deeper look into the characters and story (while others always try to dive in the shallow end) which makes me appreciate the writers and animators!

I just want to give people the ability to enjoy RWBY.

I see all of this hate towards the show, its fans, the writers...

I see people profiting off the hate and ignorance.

Why is positivity considered a sin? Why must we be critical of everything?

I just want to enjoy things. The more I try to enjoy things, the more I learn to appreciate things.
