Various pieces of information from the Rise Q&A back in July
1. When asked how the Turtles got their names in Rise it was said that back when Splinter was Lou Jitsu he travelled the world & developed a love for the Italian Renaissance & it’s art
Tumblr media
This might have possibly been hinted at in the show as during the episode Al Be Back, Splinter was shown singing opera when trying to convince his sons to let him join their band.
2. Big Mama’s Assistant was stated to be one of the Turtle’s missing siblings & there were plans to name her after a female artist with Frida Kahlo possibly being the artist Big Mama’s Assistant would have been named after
Tumblr media
The Turtles were supposed to figure out that Big Mama’s Assistant was related to them after various encounters with Big Mama, her personality is said to be ‘so disciplined & serious to the point where it is funny’.
3.  The Turtles had always had the potential for mystic powers & the mystic weapons that they took from Draxum acted as a catalyst & conduit to activating them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Turtles are said to have had their mystic abilities inherently but needed something to help unlock them.
4. When asked about Mayhem it was admitted that Mayhem’s teleport ability was tricky to use due to easily being able to get the Turtles out of any serious situation
Tumblr media
However it was stated that it could of been fun to see Mayhem go on seperate adventures similar to Perry the platypus in Phineas & Ferb.
5. When asked about the Raph & Casey friendship which can be seen in other iterations in TMNT it was said that though Raph & Casey didn’t get the chance to interact that much in the show they would actually make ‘the perfect pair’ if they had gotten to spend time together.
Tumblr media
6. It was stated that after the Krang were sealed away the Turtles crashed & needed recovery time
Tumblr media
7. After the events of the movie the public become slightly more aware of the existence of the Turtles
Tumblr media
It was said that there would be a divide between people who feared & people who supported mutants & that the Turtles would have to work to maintain their reputation as heroes
8. When asked about if the Turtles had favourites when it came to their brother it was stated that Mikey was most likely Raph’s favourite & that Leo had a soft spot for Donnie & that Leo, Mikey & Donnie all look up to Raph
Tumblr media
Mikey, Donnie & Leo: Raph! Raph! Raph!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. When asked about Future Mikey & why he looked so much older in the future it was stated that the more powerful you Ninpo & Mystic energy are the more potential the powers have to drain whoever is using them
Tumblr media
10. When asked about the heights of the future Turtles it was stated that due to his powers draining him Mikey had shrunk slightly but the Future version of Raph had been over 6ft 6 & the Future Version of Donnie had been slightly taller that Future Leo.
11. Casey Junior is said to have lost Cassandra when he was rather young & only has brief memories of her & that he was mostly raised by the Future version of Leo.
Tumblr media
12. When asked about Splinter’s mystic abilities it was stated that he could do anything any of the Turtles could do if he tried
Tumblr media
We’ve have briefly seen this when Splinter used Leo’s odachi to make portals but it also possibly means that Splinter could have also possibly replicated some of Raph, Donnie & Mikey’s abilities as well.
13. If there had been a cross over episode with Rise the 2012 Turtles were the Turtles most likely to be used due to many of the people who worked on Rise having also worked on the 2012 cartoon as well
Tumblr media
Mikey’s powers are said to open up the possibility for cross overs with other universes
14. When asked about the Rat King it was stated he could have possibly been an extremely powerful Yokai
15. It was stated that Leo & Donnie both got their confidence from Splinter while Raph inherited his courage & sense of duty
Tumblr media
It was also stated that Mikey can tell that Splinter misses his old family & works to keep the family together

Writing Notes: Mystical Items & Objects
A Quick Guide to Creating Fictional Items
Tumblr media
STEP 1: Give Your Item Purpose
Crafting memorable items and artifacts demands purpose and intention.
And luckily for writers, there are countless routes you can take.
Symbolism: Embed deeper meaning with an item that represents your story’s themes, like a shattered mirror in a narrative about fractured realities or identities.
MacGuffin: Introduce items that ignite the central conflict or quest, becoming the catalyst for your story’s unfolding events.
Enhancement or Protection: Equip characters with items that empower their abilities or shield them from peril, exemplified by a cloak granting invisibility in dire situations.
Foreshadowing: Introduce an item early on that will play a crucial role later, subtly hinting at its significance without giving everything away.
Progression: Propel the plot or character development with items that carry them from one stage to the next, such as a mystical map revealing hidden worlds.
Misleading (Red Herring): Employ an item to divert attention, creating suspense and keeping readers on their toes with false leads or assumptions.
By carefully considering these categories, you can ensure that your item serves a meaningful role in your narrative.
STEP 2: Give Your Item a Backstory
Delving into the past of your fictional item adds layers to its meaning and significance, creating a story of its own that complements the main plot.
Consider the creator: was it forged by ancient beings, crafted in a moment of desperation, or is its origin shrouded in mystery?
Reflect on its journey: has it been a catalyst in significant historical events, or perhaps changed hands through various intriguing characters?
Ponder its mythology: what tales and legends has it spawned, and how do they influence those who encounter it?
By carving out a detailed history, your fictional item evolves from a mere object to a vital and captivating component of your narrative.
STEP 3: Describe Your Item
The ability to create a clear and compelling mental image of your fictional item in the minds of your readers is paramount. Examples:
The Lament Configuration from Hellraiser boasts an ornate gold filigree, clearly harboring dark magic.
In contrast, the Alethiometer from His Dark Materials seems simple enough, yet hides its ability to unveil cosmic truths.
Meanwhile, the black monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey stands as a minimalist enigma, prompting viewers to question its purpose.
A memorable item can create a lasting impact, ensuring your story resonates with the audience long after they've turned the final page or the credits have rolled.
STEP 4: Consider Its Powers and Limitations
Navigating the balance of power and limitation is crucial when conceptualizing a fictional item.
Explore its strength and scope: What phenomenal feats can it perform, and where does its influence wane?
Understand its accessibility: Who is deemed worthy or capable of wielding such power, and what proficiency or awareness is necessary?
Acknowledge the stakes: Are there perils or repercussions tied to its usage?
By defining these aspects clearly, your item becomes a well-integrated, credible element of your world.
NOTE: Steer clear of making your item omnipotent to maintain narrative tension, and adhere to established rules (i.e. limitations) to prevent inconsistencies.
STEP 5: Give It a Name
The final touch in bringing your fictional item to life is bestowing upon it a fitting name.
Opt for the classic and straightforward: think “The Amulet of Fate,” aligning directly with its purpose or powers.
If you’re feeling whimsical, embrace the quirky—think of the real-world “whatchamacallit” candy bar or the playful “thingamajig”.
Or, simply state it as it is, calling a sword a sword (especially for mundane magical items where you may not want to reveal their powers).
Should you choose a particularly unique name, ensure you provide enough context for readers to grasp its significance.
ADVANCED TECHNIQUES
Now that you've laid the foundational work, elevate your item from intriguing to unforgettable by considering the following:
Mix and Match Types. By intertwining the ordinary with the extraordinary, your item takes on a life of its own and sets itself apart with ease.
Build Lore Around It. Trace your item’s journey to acknowledge how time has warped perceptions or fostered myths and misconceptions.
Use History and Mythology as Inspiration. Enrich your story by pulling from history and mythology, tapping into a wellspring of real-world intrigue.
Ultimately, do what best works for you as the writer. You may rearrange some of these steps, and tweak them to suit your writing process and style.

July 2024 Check In
Tumblr media
Hello, all!
Happy update day! Thank you for your support and patience while we work. This has been one of the busiest times for our team, and we’re making good progress. But it's challenging to share without sounding like a broken record. Lots of coding. Lots of numbers. Lots of items. So little time...!
But first, I must share solemn news. Our backdrop artist, Kzart, has passed away. He died of cardiac arrest just the day after our last update, where we previewed his wonderful work on the Cogwheel Outskirts.
This is a deep and mournful tragedy. Our heart goes out to his family, friends, and loved ones. Kzart was a welcome, cheerful, and bright part of the team, and the loss is devastating. May his memory be a blessing.
We are dedicating our work this month to his memory. We hope to ask your patience while we make decisions for future team members in the wake of his passing.
To start off, here are some asset updates.
New Icons
We’ve been picking away at icons. Populating the site itself with estimates for cooking, crafting, dailies, site store, and guild play has been a behemoth of a task which has taken weeks of calculating out delicate numbers, drop rates, and seeding tactics. We have an insane amount of spreadsheets. I’m very proud of how much we’ve figured out.
Tumblr media
Wild Boar, Bison Calf, Kid, Lamb, Blackbird, Red Squirrel and Brown Hare illustrated by Tybaxel and Remmie
The young animals will be available as plain food in Alpha and part of Beta, but are designed in preparation for our Farming and Husbandry mechanic, explained more in this update!
I’m dying to see the dye icons!
Tumblr media
Illustration by Tybaxel
And lastly, we’ve started work on the stone assets!
Tumblr media
Harvest Stone, Metropolis Stone, and Luna Stone by Hydde
Above you see the Harvest Stone, Metropolis Stone, and Luna Stone. Paw-carved by catfolk out of various precious stones and the elusive Prismaline—Mewmoia’s magical mineral and the origin of modern magical technology—these stones act as a magical catalyst for sorcerers performing transmutation.
We also want to note: we see the discrepancy in the Harvest logo and its child assets. While we were working on the visual development, we found that the leaf was not only more recognizable as a symbol, but more reliably adaptable in different simplistic forms. We will be experimenting with replacing the vegetable in the Harvest logo with a leaf.
Recolorings
Recolors continue! This month, we have the Guard set.
Tumblr media
Colors done by Emma
New Decor
We have begun our work on decor!
Our goal is to have a substantial amount of decor befitting every type of backdrop we are starting with. Our first set we are tackling is the Summer Natural set. We have sets known as Sea Faring, City Clearing, Academic, and Winter Natural planned as a starting roster.
Tumblr media
Florals by Giulia, lemonade by Jerso, butterlfies by Asp
And here it is put together!
Tumblr media
NPC Sketches
Early last month, we shared a preview of the initial sketch for Wheatley and Crowley, the sitewide general store!
Initial feedback included a poor merge of cat-like anatomy and anthropomorphized character acting. We took this feedback, spent another day on visual development for NPCs, and updated our character design visual philosophy!
So, presenting…
Tumblr media
And here is how they look on the website!
Tumblr media
This sketch is still subject to change as we hash it out, line, and render it, but we’re excited to share what we’ve developed so far!
Wheatley and Crowley were the first NPCs ever developed during pre-production.
(Just as the Bovine was the first Mystic breed ever developed, and Sugar was the first color palette ever designed!)
So there is something a tad emotional about making it this far. Seeing them animated and on an actual game UI has been very rejuvenating. We’re nearing the end of this development hole!
Tumblr media
So you want to form a team and join the Guild, huh? Meet Maven, your guildmaster. She’s rough, prickly, and can scare the faint of heart. Yet the Guild is dedicated to helping poor cats in need, in the wake of wastebeasts and outlaws terrorizing outskirt villages. You wonder who she is under that thorny exterior…
Maven is a primary character in the ongoing site plot. We have the technology for NPCs to emote during dialogue. Many story-focused NPCs will get this treatment. This means that Maven's expressions will change as you talk to her!
Tumblr media
All NPC sketches by Hydde
Everyone knows Winnipeg, the longhair chef from Luna. Introducing his twin sister, Winnifred! Winnifred sells husbandry and farming supplies, including young animals and seeds.
(Note: all 3D assets used for render references are ours, minus the watering can! Credit to Toonz Media Group from Sketchfab.)
So let’s talk about the farm mechanic!
In Development - Farming and Husbandry
Tumblr media
See the initial UIs for our major in-development mechanic.
Plant seeds on plots of land in your camp. Certain plants will raise or lower your soil quality, which in turn will affect how many items these plants yield. It’s up to you as the player to grow a variety of different plants to diversify your soil and get the most yield.
Tumblr media
Husbandry will feature the same concept, utilizing livestock as opposed to plants. Grow different animals over time and maintain grass density to get the best quantity of items!
Lastly, some folks were curious about incense, how it works, and its attainment method.
Incense will be craftable, and its ingredients will be farmed! Incense ingredient seeds will be scattered around the game, including as reward drops for gameplay. It will take intentional cultivation to attain an incense item.
Because we had a few users who were curious to the specific ingredients of every incense scent, here is each Borough:
Luna = Lavender and Jasmine Sol = Cinnamon and Fennel Abyssal = Lotus and Sakura  Zenith = Rosemary and Sage Harvest = Basil and Oregano  Cogwheel = Saffron and Turmeric  Metropolis = Patchouli and Vetiver
For testing until farming is implemented, items which would be farmed will be available to buy through Winnifred.
Cooking and Crafting
Lastly, a peak at the UI for the cook and craft mechanic!
We surveyed the playability of the original grid system and weighed the pros and cons of managing a grid and memorizing recipes in a multiplayer resource game, and ultimately decided that our platform and format doesn’t quite suit the crafting grid playstyle.
Tumblr media
Instead, recipes and blueprints are found, added to your collection, and able to be insta-made.
We found the act of users individually adding items from storage to be tedious, and ultimately our original format would end up with users researching recipes on wiki articles instead of engaging in explorative play. While other games have crafting loops which incentivize exploration, the petsite setup as we have built it simply does not accommodate it without serious overhaul.
But we hoped to preserve some of that magic by including the “add ingredient” feature. Users will be able to discover new combinations by experimenting with add-ons. For example, a pizza recipe could become mushroom pizza by adding mushrooms!
Tumblr media
Users may still end up just looking things up, but the mechanic itself is now not ultimately dependent on off-site research.
Peak at this mockup recipe!
Tumblr media
We are currently experimenting with how to include the NPCs in this UI format. Fear not that you do not see Winnipeg here. He will be in the game!
This mechanic in general is what we are currently working on! Thanks for sticking by!
And that’s all we have for today. We know that a lot of users are holding out for Mystic breed updates in the demo, and we are working on those. But game playability is taking the highest place for us, as we want to get testing ASAP! So, we appreciate this patience. Moontails, and likely Thumpers, will be here for Beta, but our #1 focus this last month has been the sprint to the finish line for playability in both development and assets. The semi-quiet activity is because we're putting all our energy into this huge milestone.
Which to mention!
Alpha acceptances have been sent out! If you have not yet, check your email!
We asked those who receive it to reply that they have. There is not a strict deadline on this reply, we simply want to ensure that those who received the email have seen it and are ready to volunteer. We will still be sending keys to everyone who received an email, minus those who are dropping out. If someone is MIA by the time people are registering accounts, we will consider reaching out to other potential testers.
Home stretch, everyone! It’s starting to come together just how much we’ve completed, and the application is beginning to feel real in a way it hasn’t previously. We’re all super antsy to buff it out and get people playing!
Thank you all!
To summarize: We shared icons, Guard set recoloring, decor assets, 3 new NPC sketches, the farm and husbandry mechanic, and the cook/craft functionality.
What to expect next month: Further asset and development updates. Check-ins for how Alpha will be going, timeline expectations in the wake, NPCs and lore.

It really is impressive how FGO managed the nigh-impossible task of making ORT lose while also impressing on the player “ORT is unstoppable” by doing Ye Olde Raputinian Death.
Like, the steps were fucking:
Cut out its heart
Impose the Concept of Death upon it without using the real Black Barrel
Kill it like 10 times in a row to get rid of its combat body
Start killing the Main Body another 10 times
Use the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception at least once
Have an Actual Fucking Excalibur ready
Manipulate time so it won’t dodge Excalibur.
Kill the Servant Version of itself it learned to make after eating enough servants and summons by using its own separated heart as a catalyst
Kill the second servant version by befriending ORT’s heart enough that it will commit suicide to kill ORT’s Second Servant Form
Pray it doesn’t have any other tricks up its sleeves
Remember this is only the Lostbelt version and thus lacks several powers the PHH version has due to not having the chance to eat Dead Apostle Ancestors and various stupid mages.
Pray it doesn’t wake up.
Take comfort knowing you will likely die before Overcount: 1999 happens and reduces Earth to The Land Of Steel, thus setting up PHH ORT’s Awakening as Type Oort Cloud.
And I’m probably missing some steps in there.

Who wants angst?? You do? Alright
Individual frames below v
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also for those wondering heres my design for Krang Donnie
Tumblr media
This is open to changes
I actually got the timeline wrong. At this point he should have his two robotic arms and a really messed up left eye, but I didn’t really think about that while making the first couple frames so I just went with it. This is actually his second infection, the first one being less severe and more of a catalyst to allow the Kraangs plan to be fool proof (I think I said that right Idk)
The first time he was rescued like Raph was during the movie, only Mikey was able to use his mystic hands to fight off the infection.
After this Donnie was pretty much just forgotten about by the Krang and left to roam around for who knows how long. He eventually woke up from the infection but had forgotten most things. All he remembered was that he had three brothers and April was with the resistance.

So you've talked a few times about how Plagg and Tikki failed on a fundamental level as mentors, and how Fu wasn't even really a mentor at all, but I don't think I've seen you bring up Su-Han as of yet, and I'm curious to know where you fall on that particular character.
I personally feel he could've been useful for expository purposes, and/or served as a catalyst for Marinette's growth into the role of guardian/team leader (you know, if the show were interested in character growth, or suggesting it's protagonist isn't omni-capable), but instead he showed up in four episodes, caused several problems, raised more questions than he ultimately answered, and honestly makes me question why he was included in the first place.
The order of the guardians is back after 170+ years and the most lasting impact this has on the story is... they teach Jagged Stone Kung Fu? Were you on the writing team, how would you make effective use of this plot point (Or was it a bad idea to begin with?)
Su-Han is an incredibly weird character. I'm honestly not totally sure why he exists, but I'll give you my best guess and then we'll talk about how he could have been used because I do think that he had potential.
It feels like they only introduced the guardian temple back in season three because they wanted to explain how the peacock and butterfly got lost - even though their explanation just raises even more questions if you know anything about archology - then they realized, "Oh shit, we probably need to address the guardian's return somehow, don't we?"
But if they let a whole mystic order descend on Paris, then we don't really need our two heroes, so instead we get one rando who walked (or I guess jumped?) from Tibet to Paris in order to be the writer's whipping boy because that's really how Su-Han is used. He's not here to help or to be a mentor. He's here to voice audience complaints so that the writers can shut those complaints down with nonsense logic.
For example, this exchange from Ephemeral is what kicks off Marinette's awkward and concerning plan to lie to her partner about an identity reveal:
Su-Han: This really takes the cake! Ladybug: Grand Master Su-Han? Su-Han: Nine! You used nine Miraculous to defeat a single villain, when Cat Noir could have just used his Cataclysm! Ladybug: I had to. Cat Noir was missing! Su-Han: What do you mean "missing"? You can't just let the holder of the one of the most powerful Miraculous go about as he pleases! What if he started making his own decisions, or act it out? Like Shadow Moth?! Ladybug: Cat Noir? Act like Shadow Moth? Wow. Are you blowing this out of proportion just a little? Su-Han: Not at all. In fact, you should find out who Cat Noir really is, so you can have better control over him. Ladybug: What?? No way! We can't know our true identities! It would be too dangerous if Shadow Moth got a hold of one of us! Su-Han: I. Don't. Care!! Deal with this problem quickly, otherwise I will take back his Miraculous as soon as he shows a whisker! And I'll choose the new Cat Noir myself! Ladybug: Okay, okay, alright. What if you knew who he was, would that work? Su-Han: I... I suppose so. But I'm warning you, if you don't succeed— Ladybug: I get it. Cat Noir will be replaced.
Does Su-Han read like an Adrien salter to you? Because he does to me! He's presenting a valid argument in the most obnoxious and inflammatory way possible by making it about controlling Chat Noir instead of having the argument focus on the issue of, "Hey, maybe more than one person should know who has this extremely powerful miraculous just in case something bad happens to that one person?" An argument that holds more weight than he could possibly know because of the whole senti issue making Chat Noir a potential perfect sleeper agent.
And at the end of the episode, we get this exchange even though none of Su-Han's concerns have actually been addressed:
Su-Han: So, do you know who Cat Noir is yet? Ladybug: No. Su-Han: What? I thought I had warned you— Ladybug: I don't want to know. I've proven to you a hundred times that I'm a good guardian, and Cat Noir and I have proven to you a hundred times that we were exceptional superheroes, and you! How many times have you told us that we were messing up, when that was totally untrue? You're judging us based on your own fears, and not on our actions! Su-Han: (groans) You're right, little Ladybug. Perhaps I'm worrying over nothing. What's for sure is that one doesn't come across a guardian like you every century. (reaches out his fist) How do you say again? Ladybug and Su-Han: Pound it.
You can tell that the writers wanted Su-Han to be the bad guy here. That his pushing for an identity reveal was at fault and you - the audience - should feel bad if you ever agreed with him, but his base argument is never actually addressed. Marinette just says he needs to trust her and so he does for some reason? Remind me, which of these two is supposed to have years of experience and which of them has been a hero for less than a year and in that time has totally failed to even try to retrieve the miraculous that she's supposed to be recovering? Writers, please stop saying that Marinette is the best guardian ever when you don't let her do anything that feels all that special. I'm not saying that she's terrible, she's doing what was asked if her, I'm just concerned that this is considered way above average quality.
On top of that nonsense, there's also the problem that Marinette's counter argument would have worked right from the start, so her rushed deception plan doesn't feel like a true act of desperation like it was clearly supposed to be. Instead, it just makes her look like a horrible person even though that obviously wasn't the writer's intent. This is what always happens when they speed run these complex what-if or backstory episodes. It never works out like they clearly want it to.
Chat Blanc did it by making Adrien look bad for hiding his identity so that he could date Ladybug. Derision did it by making multiple characters look unhinged and/or evil. Ephemeral does it with the frankly baffling lie plan which is only there so we can have a proper identity reveal moment between the leads. That's literally why the episode is written like that, btw. They wanted to let Adrien confess his identity in a big romantic moment, so they forced a scenario where that would happen even though it makes Ladybug look terrible.
Anyway, back to Su-Han.
If Miraculous was allowed to have serious plot lines that spanned multiple episodes, then Su-Han could have been a great edition to the cast. Season four is a pretty big tonal shift for the show. Things start to feel a lot more serious in this season with the Ladynoir conflict and Marinette struggling to be the guardian. It also comes right after the season where we learned that Master Fu wasn't a true guardian. All of this is the perfect setup for a true mentor character who shows up to fix things and maybe even give out some new powers!
Imagine how much better this season would have been if it was about Su-Han helping Ladynoir! If he saw the conflict and stepped in to guide them through it. You could even have him be closer to Adrien than Marinette to balance Marinette and Fu's relationship.
For example, what if the guardians didn't have the wacky staff that tracks down miracle boxes but not miraculous because then Gabriel would be defeated too easily? What if Su-Han just shows up and Marinette doesn't trust him, but Adrien does? And so Su-Han helps Adrien the most while Marinette keeps Su-Han at arms length just like she does Adrien because that's what Fu taught her to do and Fu was wrong about everything! This could still lead to the season four ending, but instead of it being a nothing burger where season five continues all of the same problems, instead season five is where Marinette embraces Su-Han and really starts to understand what it means to be a guardian and a partner? Things Fu never taught her because he kind of sucked at his job.
That's just one way to make Su-Han work. A way that keeps canon intact up to the start of season five because, while I hate season four's writing and "conflict" resolution, I can admit that there was potential in the base idea. You could also scrap all of season four and rewrite everything to keep things more light hearted while still letting Su-Han be a total upgrade.
You could even go the exact opposite direction and set Su-Han up to be the next big bad! Why have sentimonster freedom be a conflict (even though it really wasn't) when you could make everything about Kwami freedom? It's a really natural progression to go from defeating Gabriel to fighting for... institutional changes(?) in how the miraculous work. Let Kwamis pick their holders and remove their bonds so that Gabriel never happen again!
I really do mean it when I say that this show is bursting with potential. I wouldn't be so enthralled by how bad it is if it didn't have potential to be amazing.

Chapter 11 - Gratuitous Waffle Violence
Tumblr media
Matchstick uses eating utensils to varying degrees of success, while Tikki draws up a roommate contract.
~*~
Mystic
Morning comes again, as it always does.
And with it, the spicy smell of a hot drink, as the catalyst to his waking.
Sitting on the rug next to the couch is another mug of the hot 'cider' Tikki made the previous night- but he can smell something else, too. The scent of the only other hot drink he was familiar with, the one the scientists in the lab carried around sometimes. It was earthy and bitter, but not in an unpleasant way.
Clinking noises from the kitchen, and plap plaps. Tikki must be awake, and making something.
Spooky
Slowly he unfolds himself, lanky legs stretching out from under the blankets followed by his upper torso and arms, his bones popping. He wasn't used to sleeping on something quite this soft... Sprawled out on the couch, he turns his head to try and see what Tikki's doing, but all he sees is her back as she prepares something just out of his view.
He was almost reluctant to get up, but the smell of the cider beckoned, and his mouth was feeling dry. He leaned down and scooped the mug up from the ground, holding it carefully in both hands and slurping noisily.
Mystic
"Wow, your bones sound like glow sticks," Tikki comments, back still turned. "First time you're sleeping on something soft?"
She tried to hide how much the thought pissed her off. Who was responsible for taking care of this kid in the 'lab'? They were shit at their job. Probably on purpose, which made her more angry, which forced her to stuff that feeling away for another molotov cocktail that surely wouldn't detonate later.
"I made you more cider- sounds like it did the job last night," she continues, not waiting for a response. "You should start drinking more regular water after this, though. Can't have you dehydrated, and you'll get more energy back if you eat properly. Which probably means I shouldn't be giving you too much sugar, but ehh..."
Tikki eventually turns back around, this time carrying a platter over to a strange contraption on a rotating spit. She flips it open, and pulls a set of puffy, boxy discs from inside. Loading up a plate with four separate discs, she sets up a second platter with only two, and lathers them in a translucent golden-brown syrup. With a march in her step, still wearing her colorful fish pajamas, she goes back to the living room that seemed to their designated eating space for the moment.
Tikki holds out the plate to him, complete with the utensils he wasn't sure how to use, and sits with her own.
"You're going to want the cutlery for this one," she says, smirking as she sips from her hot drink. "It's very sticky without it. Then we can start talking plans for whatever you're doing."
Spooky
He took the plate and was just about to pick up the food with his other hand, though he stopped dead in his tracks when she warned about it being sticky. Remembering the nectar tubes outside, he was reminded all too well that ‘sticky’ meant having to wash off.
Not really keen on taking another bath so soon, he considered the metal instruments that were given to him along with the disc- a long, flat one and another one with four prongs. Tikki had used the pronged one just yesterday to eat the, uh... theeeee omm... omelet! Yeah, she stabbed it and used it to pick it up. Didn't seem too hard.
He sat down and put the white disc in his lap, wrapping his fingers around the handle of the pronged utensil until he was holding it in his fist. He then lifted it and stabbed it more viciously than necessary into the food disc at top of the stack, attempting to pick the whole thing up with it. The puffy food was soft despite its crispier outside, though, and fell off the utensil, landing with a syrupy plap back on the stack and lightly splattering him in the stuff.
He slouched forward a bit in response, his brow knit together as his eyes regarded the stack with a rather grumpy look.
Mystic
Tikki snorts into her mug, clearing her throat before setting it aside, and picking up her own utensils.
"You have to cut the waffle, first," she explains, taking the fork and poking it, then cutting into it with the knife in the other hand while the plate rests on her lap. "You can use the knife, or the edge of the fork if you're lazy, like me."
Tikki then does just that, using the side of the fork to cut another square of her food. It takes a bit more wiggling, but once it's free, she pops it into her mouth just as easily.
"I'll get you a wet napkin after we eat, don't worry about it."
Spooky
He huffed out a breath and picked up the knife in his other hand, holding it just about as clumsily as he did with the fork. He stabbed the stack with the fork once more, then stabbed his knife into it as well, awkwardly sawing back and forth with it until it scraped noisily against the plate.
He stopped, grimacing at the sound but... there weren't any pieces free yet, so he wrenched the knife to the side and started sawing again.
Yeah, he was definitely going to need a napkin.
At last he managed to get it into smaller pieces... He stabbed those, carefully lifted them up to his mouth, and finally was able to take a bite. His eyes widened. While this whole utensils thing had been a bit more complicated of a way to eat something... It was so fucking worth it! The... bread? was nice and crisp, and the syrup was way better than the sugar water in those flower tubes. Prior annoyance forgotten, he licked his chops and went to stab another piece.
Mystic
Tikki shakes her head in mild amusement, eating some more of her own waffles.
"You might have an easier time if you're a bit more gentle about it," she says, smiling tiredly as she lifts her mug and takes another drink. "Moving harshly is what splattered the syrup. One sec-"
Tikki goes to the kitchen, grabs a napkin from a rung, and soaks it with a bit of hot water. Returning to the couch area, she holds it out to him.
"Here- you can wipe off the syrup with this."
Sitting back down, she hums, finishing her own two waffles in short order.
She waits quietly while he eats, drinking more of her mystery drink.
"So..." she says, finally breaking the silence once he's had time to work through the stack of waffles. "What's your plan going forward, Sticks? Do you have an idea of what you want to do?"
Spooky
He paused and looked up from his plate, his cheeks visibly stuffed with waffle and syrup dripping from his mouth. Then, still wide-eyed, he looked past her, not really at anything in particular.
Plan going forward? He'd been on the run for a while now, technically free even if he was being hunted, but up to this point it felt like his days had to be almost entirely devoted to his continued survival. If it wasn't hiding, it was food and water he was primarily focused on.
Now that those needs were met, though...
Now what...?
His eyes focused on her again, and he looked almost as if he was expecting her to continue on with what she wanted him to do, but no instructions were forthcoming.
Feeling lost, he gave a noncommittal shrug and went back to eating.
Mystic
Tikki hums, frowning a little.
"Okay, maybe that was a bit too broad," she acquiesces, cleaning a bit of syrup off her plate with the fork and nibbling it off the tines, almost literally chewing over her thoughts. "Anywhere in particular you want to go? You don't have to stay in this town if you don't want to- from the sounds of it, you seem pretty scared. I can help, but... I don't know, I guess I just feel bad that you seem so afraid all the time. You shouldn't have to be."
She felt a little bad pointing it out, but it needed to be said. She was observant. She'd seen him running for cover in the trees, acting like exposure to the world for even a fraction of a second meant certain death. Granted, she had no idea which 'lab' was responsible for... this. Whatever they'd done to him. Who knows, they could be near town.
"...it- reminds me of how I used to feel, early on," Tikki explains, scratching at one arm. Her pointed fingers catch lightly on the silver scales that faintly dust over her regular teal ones.
Spooky
With his waffles now gone too, he stuck the end of the fork in his mouth for a minute as he tried to think. When he took it back out again, the tines were red hot.
"Where else...?" He mumbled, looking down at the syrup puddle on his plate. It wasn't very reflective, but he could see the vague circular shadow of his head in it, blocking out the light that would otherwise be making it shine.
He truly didn't know any other place in this world, and it had taken a while just to get used to this one. Maybe it would've been better to just have kept running until he was far away, but even on the outside it seemed like he couldn't really escape. How long would he have to run until he didn't see that logo anymore? Until he knew he was out of their reach?
"They're ehn... ev... everywhere," he added.
Mystic
"...oh."
Tikki seems saddened by this, frowning as she looks down at her own empty plate.
"...I'm sorry," she says. "I know I didn't have anything to do with it, but- well, somebody has to say it."
...
"...who did it?"
Dangerous question to ask. But then, it was dangerous for her to simply have him in her home, and she seemed fine enough breaking that rule.
Spooky
He slid his fork around in the syrup, though he made no move to lick it or anything- it was just movement for movement's sake.
He was clearly hesitant to answer... Not because he didn't trust Tikki by this point, but moreso that he was afraid. Perhaps irrationally so, since it wasn't like it would summon them to just utter the name of it... But knowing that didn't ease his paranoia any. Still... if he was going to stay, she deserved to know, if only so she knew who to avoid too...
After seeming like he wasn't going to say anything, he finally opened his mouth and spoke again, this time in a whisper.
"Aria."
Mystic
...
"...wait."
Tikki says nothing for a moment as the gears turn. She sits up, removing a small tablet device from a pocket on her pajamas. She taps at it for a second, staring at the screen on the front as a light comes on, casting faint illumination on her cheeks.
"Aria, as in- the megacorporation? The company that does appliance and tech delivery, and is a giant monument to the follies of capitalism?" Despite almost none of these words making sense to him, Tikki seems to be getting incensed the deeper she goes, so it must have communicated something accurate to the true Aria conglomerate. "Ugh. Figures it would be a giant business with its fingers in so many pies that it could pay to get away with murder."
It was truly sad how little of an exaggeration that statement was. Tikki had no doubt in her mind that if this kid stayed where he'd been before, and proved not useful enough to whoever deemed the criteria, they could have simply erased him. Be done with him and act like he was never there- against his will or not.
"You can't leave, then," Tikki continues, thinking. "Otherwise, you'll get caught by the vainglorious manchildren with too much padding in their wallets. I'm certainly not going to turn you over to that. So... do you want to stay, then? Again, I don't have much, but... I have a roof and a couch, and I'd like to think I'm pretty good at avoiding the public eye."
Spooky
There were a lot of terms being used that were flying over his head, but as he leaned to try and get a look at her screen, his wide-eyed, anxious reaction upon seeing the logo was all it took to confirm it for her.
He stared down as she scrolled through the results, his shoulders tense.
While he had been developed in their labs, the fact remained that he didn't understand the full scope of what Aria was. How could he? He had seen computers before plenty of times, but he'd never been allowed to use one himself. He'd never had money before, to his knowledge. The smiling, corporate facade of this company was just baffling to him, it painted a friendly picture so alien from the place he was used to that it gave him a severe sense of tonal whiplash just to think about it.
Listening to her, though, was kind of cathartic even if he didn't know some of what she was saying. Her anger was a small comfort to him, and it made him feel less alone in the world to know he had at least one person who had his back in this case.
Even though he was worried about what they would do to her if they found her, let alone what they would do if they found out she'd been hiding him...
At this point, the question wasn't whether or not he wanted to stay- he did, very much so. The question was really more like 'am i willing to risk Tikki's safety?' Tikki was the first and only truly friendly face he'd encountered... that he... didn't struggle to recall from an old memory, anyway.
On one hand, it would be dangerous, but on the other... He was a weapon. If they did track him down, or did anything to hurt Tikki... He would make them hurt too.Or worse.
Looking back up at her with a more resolute expression, he nodded.
He wanted to stay.
Mystic
Tikki smiles, pleased with this response- and kind of relieved.
“Oh good,” she exhales. “I wanted to give you the choice, but I won’t lie, I was probably going to worry about you a lot if you left.”
Tikki sets her plate aside and claps her hands together.
“Then, I guess we gotta draw up a roommate contract. Y’know- lay down some terms so we’re both comfortable.”
She leans over to rifle through a drawer of the cabinet set under the silent television, removing a yellow paper pad and pencil. Snapping the paper out flat, she places it on her knees and starts writing, talking while she does so.
“I’ve never had to share a space with someone that wasn’t a sibling before, much less on land, but I think I can handle that. Since this is my house, here are my terms: One, obviously you don’t have a job, so you can’t pay rent. That’s fine- but you’re going to have to help me around the house. Managing a space for two people is a challenge on my own, and in the process, I can teach you how to take care of yourself. Like laundry, cooking, etcetera... I’m not going to be your maid, but you’re not going to be mine, either. Could be helpful in an emergency, like if I get um- indisposed. Basically I’m just saying we help each other, okay? Two, you don’t sell out my uh-“
Tikki scratches behind her neck.
”-medical condition to any authorities. I’m not even normal by non-human standards, but hey, neither of us are very normal, are we? It’s like we’re made for each other,” she jokes.
Tikki finishes writing her notes, tapping the pencil on the paper before her gaze slides over to him.
“Does that sound fair? Anything you’d like to add, any rules you want to lay down?”
Spooky
The corners of his mouth quirked up a little at her relieved response, though it quickly turned to a look of surprise when she grabbed a paper and started talking about a 'contract'. That was a word he'd heard before, he was pretty sure, but like most things he overheard in random conversation snippets from scientists, he didn't have enough context to really understand what it meant.
Listening to Tikki though, he was able to figure out that it seemed to be some form of agreement. Wasn't sure why it had to be written down though... Maybe so both people wouldn't forget it?
Idly licking the syrup from his plate as he watched her write, he did his best to follow what she was saying- he wasn't sure what a rent was or what 'indisposed' meant- but he was able to grasp the main idea of it. 'Help each other' seemed reasonable enough.
Second part seemed obvious enough to him that it didn't really need to be written. After all, he did already promise that he would keep the secret! But if she felt better writing it on the paper too, well, that would be alright.
It sounded fair enough, so he gave a nod to that question, though when asked if there was anything he wanted to add, any rules he wanted... He got that far-off look in his eyes again and set the plate back down in his lap, immediately paralyzed by choice. While in the lab there were a lot of decisions he wished he could make in regards to his living situation, like no more ‘resilience testing’ chambers or shackles, or no more jabbing metal shit into his back... It didn't seem like Tikki's house had anything of the sort, and he'd only been here for one night.
What could he want that would apply to this place? He glanced over at Slithers as if to see if he had any ideas, but as Slithers was an inanimate plushie, no suggestions were forthcoming.
He gave an awkward shrug to Tikki. There was only one thing he could think of that was super obvious, but if they were gonna write everything down, might as well.
"Hh... Hide me... from Aria," he said.
Mystic
Tikki nods, not questioning the request in the slightest.
“Good, we’re on the same page.” She puts a line on the paper between her points and his, writing ‘Stick’s Rules’ above his section. “We can add more if you think about anything later.”
Tikki finished writing, and signed it with a looping scribble of some sort.
“I do have a guest room,” Tikki explains, sheepish all of the sudden, “but it’s- not furnished. I never had a reason to buy a second bed, and I was… kinda using it as my indoor hiding place when I change? So unfortunately that room isn’t usable right now, cuz it’s just kinda an empty box. Maybe sometime soon, though, once I save up enough money, we can set you up in there? Apologies in advance for any damage to the room. It’ll take a while, so you can have this living room as your space until that day. I don’t use it much anyway, the fireplace dries out my scales.”
Spooky
He blinked, perking up a little bit in intrigue. A room of his own?
His cell back at the lab had been very sparse save for restraints, and it was more part of a larger room with heavy duty viewing windows separating them. Needless to say it hardly felt like a space to call his own, not with so many eyes on him.
He would gladly take an empty cameraless box over that, at least it offered some privacy. In the meantime, though, the living room seemed nice.
...Why was it called a living room, though? Didn't seem like it was alive, any more so than the rest of the building at least. Weird...
Still, the thought of staying in it was kind of exciting- it was warm, had a lot of stuff to look at, there were good smells from the kitchen, and he liked the fireplace. It was probably a good thing he didn't have any scales to worry about drying out.
...That did remind him, though. Tikki was a fish lady. Weren't fish supposed to live in water? There was an aquarium at the lab. He'd only seen it a few times in passing, but it was a rare spot of colors and visual interest in an otherwise mostly monochrome environment, and he probably could have watched it for hours if they'd have let him. There were fish in Tikki's room too, though that tank wasn't nearly as big, nor populated.
The only water he'd ever seen Tikki in, though, had been the pond outside. Did she normally go in there when it wasn't iced over? Hm...
That in turn made him wonder about the place she said she was from before. Picking up Slithers and looking down at its beady lil' eyes, he thought for a moment before asking: "what's... Sea?"
Mystic
Tikki blinks. Her eyebrows raise when she realizes what he was asking.
“Oh- the sea! It’s a large body of saltwater, just a few miles away, also called the ocean. You can’t drink it, but the water is home to a lot of colorful fish, animals, and plants. My people live there- in your tongue we’re called ‘mermaids’. There are some of us that can live in rivers, but most of us live deep in the ocean. It’s my-“
She pauses, the cheer dissipating for a brief moment. When she speaks again, it’s muted.
“-was my home.”
Spooky
It didn't escape his notice how her expression seemed to light up when she started describing it, but faded so quickly at the mention of her leaving. It was... very clear she hadn't wanted to go. Something had forced her to leave. Whatever the reason was, it probably prevented her from going back, too...
Remembering Slithers's purpose, though, he lifted the plush up and nudged her shoulder with it, trying to hand it back to her.
"...don't like water..." he mumbled, sliding his hand over the nape of his neck. "liked... watchin' fish, though." His voice was still weak, but it was at least sounding a little better today, and not as much like he'd been gargling gravel.
Mystic
Tikki glances over in confusion as she feels something squish against her. Then she smiles, seeing the plush. She takes it and gives it a small hug.
“Thanks,” she mumbles. “You’re a good kid.”
A sigh.
…after a few moments, she places the plush back on the couch next to him. She appreciated the gesture.
“Yeah? Fish like watching us, too,” Tikki says with a chuckle. “You gave the guppies a big spook when you woke us up. They’ve been babbling about you all morning. They think you’re some kind of giant walking eel.”
Tikki stretches her back, grunting as the vertebrae pop a little.
“Any other questions you got for me? Since we’re laying all cards on the table now, might as well, I guess. You already know my biggest secret.”
Spooky
There it was again, that odd chuffing kind of laugh, the best he could manage currently. Eels were those noodly ones with all the teeth, right? He only really saw them poking their heads out from rocks in their tank for the most part, but they looked kind of goofy. The mental image of him poking his head out of a rock and opening and closing his mouth a lot just struck him as way too silly not to laugh, despite the state of his voice.
"Tell 'em sorry," he rasped, coughing a little from the laugh. He didn't mean to spook them, but at this point he was kind of used to that reaction.
That did remind him, though, of something else odd he noticed the night before. "...I couldn't h- hear 'em..." he whispered, trying to give his voice a break. He'd seen them swim towards Tikki, and they seemed to be the ones to wake her... but surely enough, he'd only heard the bubbling of the filter at most.
Mystic
"Oh don't worry, I did," Tikki giggles, sipping from her mug. "Guppies aren't the brightest, and thought your glowing eyes meant you were a predator there to eat them or something."
Hearing him whisper and cough, she reaches over and pats him on the shoulder.
"It's okay, take it easy on your throat. You'll probably need several more days of resting your throat and drinking cider or tea with honey to heal whatever damage you may have."
Tikki takes his mug, which was now empty, and goes to refill it in the kitchen.
"I'd be surprised if you could hear them!" Tikki says idly. "It's a mermaid thing- we can talk to fish, and understand them. They're not always intelligent, it can depend on the individual, or even type of fish. Usually larger fish are smarter- bigger brains to absorb more information, n' all. Anything that's not a fish, like turtles or otters, are harder to communicate with; not quite the same language."
Spooky
Huh... That sounded pretty nice, talking to animals... even if only a certain type of 'em. He'd seen a few animals at the lab, and plenty more of them while roughing it outside, but they didn't seem to like him. They usually ran away before he could even get close, which made sense for the wild ones, but even the domestic ones that were perfectly fine with being around humans seemed to freak out when they saw him. Which sucked, because they were cute, and it seemed like it would be nice to pet them...
His gaze drifted down to his hands, and his eyes fell half-lidded as he sighed. Yeah, right... Probably better that he didn't, he'd probably just crush or burn them by accident or something...
He didn't notice Tikki returning until a refilled mug entered his view, and it almost made him jump for a second.
Mystic
"I don't blame you for being skittish," Tikki says, somber as she hands him the refilled mug. "I don't know your full story, but I can imagine you've been through some hell. It's okay if you need time, there's no shame in it."
Leaving him to his drink, she picks up the contract and folds it, tucking it into a pocket on her pajamas. Hands now mostly free, she grabs his abandoned plate and stacks it on top of her own to go clean.
"Which reminds me- you've been kinda running around in tatters for a while." Tikki looks over her shoulder from the sink. "You need clothes besides- y'know- a blanket. Are you fine with hand-me-downs? Just nod yes or shake your head for no, to save your voice."
Spooky
He looked over his shoulder and tilted his head at the term 'hand-me-downs', having never heard it before, but... he did know what clothes were, and while the blanket had been doing okay at keeping him warm, it was a little annoying to have to hold it around him with his hand to keep it from falling down...
Also, a quick look at the shorts he'd been in since before he'd even escaped- now threadbare in places and torn in others- told him they were definitely not going to last much longer.
Not wanting to go completely without, he looked back up at her and nodded quickly, his face faintly glowing in embarrassment.
Mystic
Tikki accepts that answer.
“Awesome. I’ll see what I have that fits- might be a little big for even you, since I’ll need to pick something not form-fitting, but you’ll grow into them.” She gives him a quick, wry smile. “As if you’re not already a beanpole, heh.”
True to her word, once Tikki finishes with kitchen cleanup, and walks back off toward her room and disappears again for a few minutes. He can hear the distant clatter of moving drawers and the creak of hinges on closet doors, along with a faint plastic clicking noise. Eventually, she emerges with a small armload of cloth.
“Got some sweatpants and leisure shirts that’ll probably be fine,” she says, rifling through them before lightly tossing them in his direction. They land on the couch cushion with a pff. “Mostly just comfort clothes. Go ahead and use the bathroom whenever you want to change.”
Spooky
He made a face at the beanpole comment as she turned back around to finish up in the kitchen. Beanpole? What does that even mean??
When Tikki left to get the clothes, he looked himself over front and back, trying to figure out what she meant. The moment he heard her returning, however, he quickly stopped and pretended to just be chillin' out with his arms loosely crossed instead.
When she unceremoniously tossed the clothes on the couch next to him, he was quick to start checking them out. On top of the pile was a big shirt that, when held up, had a drawing of an orange animal sleeping in a red box, with a blue blanket draped over them, and the words 'I HATE MONDAYS' on it.
He blinked, before shrugging and tossing it back on the clothes pile. He then scooped the whole thing up in his arms and went off to the bathroom to get dressed.

Magical amputee
In the heart of a bustling metropolis, where the hum of the city blended with the whispers of the unseen, lived two friends bound by a secret—the existence of magic. Ashley, a spirited urban explorer with an unquenchable thirst for adrenaline, had always been fascinated by the covert world of spells and enchantments her friend Mia, a modern-day mage, navigated with ease.
Mia, with her cool demeanor and an apartment cluttered with arcane books and technological gadgets, had long promised to introduce Ashley to the art of magic, a promise that had been postponed by the chaos of city life. It wasn't until one seemingly ordinary afternoon, in Mia's high-rise sanctuary, that the promise would be demanded in an unexpected way.
Eager to showcase a newly mastered spell, Mia inadvertently altered the course of their lives. With a few whispered incantations and a misplaced flick of her wrist, she cast a transmutation spell that, to their shock, left Ashley with only one leg. The other had vanished, spirited away by forces they could barely comprehend. The sophisticated aluminum forearm crutches that Ashley now had to rely on felt cold and unyielding—a far cry from the freedom she was accustomed to.
Anger bubbled within Ashley, a fiery contrast to the cool, steel touch of her new supports. "Mia," she said, her voice sharp as a blade, "you better make this right. Teach me magic, for real this time. I want to be able to fix this myself."
Mia, her confidence shaken, knew the weight of her responsibility. The spell wouldn't reverse for four weeks, a period that felt like a lifetime to Ashley. Mia agreed, her guilt fueling a newfound determination to fulfill her overdue promise.
And so, amidst the glow of neon lights and the endless thrum of city life, Ashley began her journey into the world of magic. It was no easy task; the arcane books were dense, filled with esoteric knowledge that twisted the tongue and boggled the mind. Mia guided her through ancient spells, teaching her the delicate balance between the mystical and the mundane.
With each passing day, Ashley's frustration turned to fascination. She learned to harness her inner energy, to manipulate the elements, and to understand the language of the universe. The crutches, once a symbol of her limitation, became a part of her learning, as she used them in her magical exercises, balancing and moving with a grace she hadn't known before.
Ashley's anger faded, replaced by a sense of empowerment and an appreciation for Mia's world. The accident had been a catalyst for growth, pushing her into realms she had only dreamed of. By the time the four weeks had passed and her leg returned as if by magic—because, of course, it was—Ashley had transformed. She was no longer just an adrenaline junkie urban explorer; she was a mage in her own right, a master of her own story.
As for Mia, she had learned the gravest lesson of all—the consequences of her actions in the tapestry of fate. But she had also gained a true equal, a partner in magic, and their bond had grown unbreakable.
Together, Ashley and Mia stepped into the future, a future where magic and the metropolitan were intertwined, and their adventures were just beginning.
As the moon crested over the skyline of the city, Ashley and Mia, now comrades in the mystical arts, ventured beyond the concrete jungle to a place where modern GPS maps faltered and the ley lines of the old world held sway. There, cloaked by the lush embrace of the wild, lay the ruins of an ancient magical civilization, whispered about in obscure tomes and hushed tones in the backrooms of esoteric bookshops.
The ruins, remnants of a bygone era where magic flowed as freely as water, were said to contain a pool—a sanctum of pure mana, unspoiled by time. With the night sky as their canopy, the pair navigated the underbrush until the ruins rose before them, bathed in the silver light of the moon. Vines clung to weathered stone, and the air was thick with the power that pulsed through the remnants of archaic spells.
The pool, nestled at the heart of the ruins, glimmered like a jewel in the night. It was said that the waters were infused with the essence of the earth's veins, capable of rejuvenating the magic within any who bathed in its depths.
With a shared glance, Ashley and Mia shed the trappings of the city and entered the waters. The pool embraced Ashley, its magic compensating for her temporary loss, allowing her to swim with a freedom that defied her condition. The water was not just a physical balm but a wellspring of arcane energy that soaked into their very beings, replenishing the mana that flowed through their veins.
As they swam, the boundaries between them, once defined by mentor and pupil, blurred into something more profound. Laughter echoed off the ancient stones, a sound as timeless as the magic that surrounded them. In the water, under the gaze of the constellations that had witnessed millennia pass, they found themselves drawn to each other by a force as natural and powerful as the ley lines beneath their feet.
The water seemed to recognize the burgeoning bond, glowing with a soft luminescence that reflected the light of their souls. And in that moment, Ashley considered the possibility of prolonging her magical ailment. The thought of remaining an amputee, if it meant continuing to explore the depths of this newfound connection with Mia, wasn't as daunting as it once might have been. The transformation had, after all, led her here—to magic, to Mia, to a love she hadn't anticipated.
Their time in the pool was both an eternity and a fleeting instant, a paradox befitting the mystique of the ruins. When they finally emerged, it was with a sense of renewal, both in magic and in heart. The crutches, which lay beside the pool, seemed less like a shackle and more like a bridge—a bridge that had carried Ashley to this point in her journey.
The ruins, once silent and waiting, now played host to the whispers of a new story, one that intertwined Ashley and Mia's destinies. As they left the sanctity of the pool and the embrace of the ancient stones, they carried with them the warmth of shared affection and the quiet promise of tomorrow's magic.
The city awaited their return, a canvas for their adventures, both arcane and intimate. But the ruins and the pool remained, a testament to their journey, ready to welcome them back whenever they sought the tranquility and power found in its waters. The magic of the place had woven itself into their tale, a thread of the old world in the tapestry of the new, binding them together in ways they were only just beginning to understand.

Apocalypse Future Donnie Concepts
I wasn't actually planning on posting these until I had a definitive final design to share alongside them, but- It's probably going to be a while before that happens and I feel bad for how inactive this blog has been lately. I've been working on stuff, but only in-between projects, and none of it is really ready to post. So, here's a little something to prove that I am still alive. ❤
Donnie's design is so hard to update. It's just...so good in its simplicity??? Every element feels necessary to his character - so figuring out what to keep, what to get rid of, and what to change slightly is a definite challenge. It's even harder when we're given so little (canonical) information about what role he played in the Resistance and what effects the Krang Apocalypse may have had on him...including how long ago he was killed in relation to the movie. Or how he was killed, for that matter.
So, I'm playing around with some potential ideas and trying to get something that feels right - feels like Donnie, but if he had to adapt to the apocalypse (while also trying to stick to the show's simplistic, shape-heavy style, so nothing too terribly detailed or complex.) I'll share a few of these ideas below, for anyone who's interested.
(Also, yes - I know the spot-goatee is in no way an original concept, but I have a deep affection for it and had to include it in my design.)
One of the concepts I'm considering is giving Donnie a prosthetic leg, something to sort of parallel Leo with his Robo-Raph arm. But in Donnie's case, he probably lost his leg long before Raph was killed or maybe even before he built the robots of his family (maybe this serves as the inspiration or catalyst for the idea.) My working theory is that he was attempting to detonate a mine field full of some Krang dogs and something went wrong which caused him to get caught up in the resulting blast. He was lucky enough to keep his life, but lost his leg and probably some of his hearing in the process. Naturally, because it's Donnie (and because they're living through an apocalypse), the leg will be more than just a prosthetic limb - it'll have some kind of weaponry or technological capabilities built into it. Just haven't decided what that's going to be yet, lol.
I'm also toying with the idea of him creating some kind of "Ninpo Protection Device" - something to act as a defense mechanism against the Krang's mystic-cancelling (or, more accurately, locking) abilities. He's testing it on himself before green-lighting it to be used on his brothers (which, obviously, never happens.) The problem is I can't decide how to visibly convey this idea, I was thinking something along the lines of one of those medical aid devices that become permanent attachments to the user's body. But most of the visible parts of his body are covered in natural armor, save for his limbs and head. So figuring out the best placement for a thing like that has been a little challenging.
I was considering giving him a mechanical hand along with/in place of the robotic leg, as well. Reason being - he works primarily with his hands and almost never wears practical protection gear (another thing I tried to partially remedy with the addition of the gloves), so if any part of him is going to be lost, his hands would be the logical first choice. I also think there's a poetic element to the guy who relies on his tech becoming more and more "mechanical" himself (but only in the physical sense). It would also imply that there was a time when he couldn't work as efficiently on his own as he normally is able to, due to having one less hand, so there was likely an adjustment period wherein he had to lean into his mystic abilities (and the aid of others around him) far more than he's used to doing. A little background character development for him, because I love that kind of stuff.
These are about all of the definitive concepts I have for him at the moment, but obviously, I'm nowhere near having a finished design just yet. So, all of these could potentially be scrapped or tweaked in the final version.
If you read this far - kudos! And thanks for your interest! :>

Somnambulant Soulmates (rise Donnie x gn reader)
Prologue, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6
Word Count: 3676
(alright, we’re getting into some good stuff now ;) hope you enjoy!)
Three weeks.
Three weeks had passed since you first encountered that purple clad turtle, give or take.
And they were a blur of fighting and parties and studies and a library and coffee and him.
Donnie, the centrifuge that had been the catalyst of the whirlwind that had become your life. Well, technically his brothers, April, and the rest of the gang were also at fault, but he was the main culprit. The superfluous amount of meetings you’d had with him in your short time knowing him, his intriguing disposition, the whole situation had made it quite easy for him to work his way up to being one of your favorite people.
It had been a few days since you’d seen him. It had also been a few days since you’d left the fortress of your home. Following the hectic event and subsequently less wild ones of last week, you deserved a few days’ break.
But it was time to get back into the fray.
You forced yourself up from where you had been lounging on your bed, prying your eyes away from the ceaseless social media scrolling you had subjected yourself to.
Blinking your sleepiness away, you thought about what you had to do: eat something, first of all, get some water and whatever prescriptions you needed, then message that confounded turtle about his progress on that invention.
Call yourself curious, but you just had to see it in its completion. Also, you were desperately bored. Why not get your social interaction and entertainment in one stop, kill two birds with one stone?
You pulled up the chat you currently had with him but paused before you typed a word.
Sure, texting got the point across, but you were looking for a quick answer, not a typical, joining-the-conversation-hours-later Donnie answer.
Would a call work better in this scenario?
Of course, calls kind of sucked to do, solely because of the whole talking aspect, but it could be quicker. And if he didn’t respond, then you could just send a text.
You clicked his contact and the button to call him, holding your breath momentarily afterward. Hopefully it wasn’t too weird. You meant, you’d never called him before, so maybe you would look like an absolute maniac for calling him now over something so trivial. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea-
“Hello?”
You startled at the sound of a voice over the phone. He’d already answered. No going back now.
“Hey, how’s it going?” you responded as smoothly as possible.
“... Fine? You called?”
“Yeah.”
The conversation fell silent until he spoke up.
“May I know what for?”
“Right! Yeah, sorry, I was just curious about that whole mystic gem-finding situation. Did you find one yet?”
“I have yet to locate and secure any that aren’t currently in use. The project’s also been on the backburner with lair repairs; segue, do you know how many microwaves Leo can break in a week?”
You snickered, though you quickly worked back out of that tangent. “Dude, isn’t your dad- er, wait, your father some kind of alchemist? He probably has something you could use.”
“He likely does.  However, we have what one might call a strained relationship.”
“Oh, you don’t have to tell me about that if you don’t want to-’
“Me and my brothers destroyed his lab and he threw Leo off of a roof.”
“Oh.”
You two went quiet once more. He also broke the silence once more.
“Never mind that, let’s focus on the task at hand: how to obtain a sought-after gem.”
“By destroyed, do you mean made a mess of or..?”
“Absolutely decimated it.”
“Right,” you nodded slowly. “So is it abandoned, and, follow up, would it still have any resources left?”
“Not likely. Scavengers, and Draxum himself, probably made certain that anything valuable was taken care of. But, we could potentially check it out.”
“Hmm, ‘we’?” you asked innocently enough, save for a teasing inflection in your hum.
“Yeah, ‘we’. Unless you’re not interested, which is totally within bounds-”
“I’m free Thursday and Friday, either before noon or at, like, ten,” you cut him off. His surprise was discernible by how quiet he went for a solid ten seconds.
“Right, yeah, Friday works,” he finally conceded. “Would Friday at 23:00 work for you?”
Seriously? Military time? What a punk. “Translate into normal time talk and then you’ll get an answer,” you quipped.
“No need to be rude. Does eleven sound better to your inconsiderate self?”
“Much. And eleven works. Where’re we meeting?”
“Fret not. I’ll send the location.”
Come Friday, following the address brought you to the shadiest place you’d been since April took you into the sewers last week.
Man, your friend group was a whole situation.
The area itself was fine. Domestic, contemporary homes and apartments in a congested neighborhood, standard New York living arrangement. Your dubiousness, however, stemmed from the particular location: a horribly lit, uninhabited, possibly abandoned construction site.
Actually, it would probably be weirder for him to ask to meet you in a normal location with street lights.
You sent a quick text to Donnie, informing him that you were there and possibly telling him to hurry his shell up before stepping into the.dirt-coated lot. As you moved deeper into the area, you noticed a silhouette propped against the side of a big metal container. You squinted at the turned away figure, trying to make out any features.
Typing vigorously, wearing an oversized purple hoodie, hunched over their phone- okay, yeah, that was Donnie.
You quickly made your way over to him, leaning next to him on the container with a loud, metallic thud.
“Hey there, pal,” you grinned, a visible puff of air exiting your lips. Boy, was it cold.
He lackadaisically lifted an eyebrow at you as he finished typing something up on his phone. “Salutations. And refrain from calling me pal; we’re not pals.”
Donnie placed his phone and hands into his hoodie pocket and started making his way further into the shadows underneath the structure of steel beams and bars. You followed suit.
“What are we then?” you prompted playfully.
“Acquaintances.”
“Really? I don’t think people who are just acquaintances travel to literal mystic cities or even the sewers with each other.”
“Well, if you are so well versed on the classifications of relationship statuses, what do you consider us to be?”
“Friends, probably,” you shrugged.
“Probably?” he asked as he started to use a pin from his pocket to draw an unfamiliar insignia on an oddly placed brick wall.
You rested your hands on your hips. “I mean, thinking statistically about it, we’re probably friends.”
“In what universe does statistics have anything to do with this situation?”
“Ion’ know. You’re supposed to know about the science-and-math-y stuff. I’m just moral support.”
“No, you’re just throwing mathematical terms around haphazardly!” he exclaimed, gesticulating with his free hand.
“I probably am.”
His eye twitched. Before he could iterate his disdain for your insolence, the design he traced on the wall began to emit an electric blue shade. A static buzz entered the air, creating a warm, fuzzy feeling around you. Not comforting, though. It was reminiscent of the portals you’d encountered just last week.
Abruptly, a swirling amalgamation of light and energy came forth before you, small bursts of lightning zapping periodically.
Huh. You were right. Portals.
“Does this lead to that lab?” you asked, peering at it curiously.
“What do you say we find out?” Donnie gave a lazy grin before coolly stepping backwards into the portal.
You gawked. The audacity of this man to invite you adventuring and then leave you high and dry was astronomical.
That left you with two options: get out of there and have a cozy night in or follow him into a suspicious portal. Which, come on, you already knew what you were going to do: tail that turtle and make him rue leaving you behind like that.
With a roll of your eyes, you stepped, or fell, more so, into the portal, and that’s when things went loopy.
Your surroundings melted into a zero gravity tunnel of blue, insides churning in a manner akin to the swarm of colors around you. Everything looked distorted, warped into only sensations, and after moments of free fall and whiplash and weightlessness you plopped rather unceremoniously onto a brick path.
Somehow, the area you ended up in was even loopier than that.
For starters, the sky was a washy mix of apricot and slate and a golden color. Next up, and quite likely most pressingly, was the gigantic structure sitting before you. A short, rocky path trailed up to a floating cylindrical building, the size of which rivaled every building you’d ever seen in New York. The building was bathed in green light, had a balcony- and did you mention FLOATING?
“Holy-” You couldn’t help but go slack-jawed, earning a smug expression from the turtle.
“Mmhm.”
“Where are we?” You looked at the vast area behind you, the fiery orange sky littered with floating edifices and vessels and creatures of all varieties.
“Welcome to the Hidden City, my associate-”
You interjected, “-friend-”
“-entourage,” he corrected with the raise of an eyebrow.
You let it slide, not looking to lower your status any more. “Touché. Continue.”
“The Hidden City, a subterranean city-state far beneath New York City and home to the laboratory of former warrior-alchemist Barron Draxum,” Donnie introduced with a flourish of his hands.
You released an amused puff of air. “You feel good about letting out your inner theater kid?”
“I feel great, actually. But there’s no time to dwell on that. Onward, to exploration!”
He was really in full theatrics tonight, but you didn’t mind indulging. Lightly shaking your head at him, you joined him in moving up the path to the towering golden archway at the front of the building.
The door opened creakily, unsturdy on its hinges, shedding light on a decrepit, dust-ridden foyer. Large tapestries and artworks strewn about the halls were coated so thickly in dirt they almost couldn’t be made out. You shot him an uncertain look.
“Like I said, don’t keep your hopes up,” was all Donnie said in response before continuing down the dim corridor. You stalled, still weary about the condition of the building, before swiftly catching back up with him.
As you worked your way into the dark, desolate lab, Donnie lectured you on safety precautions. “Don’t touch anything unless it seems nonlethal and productive. Actually, just don’t touch anything.”
“So, I can’t open any drawers or anything?” you sassed.
He deadpanned. “You know what I mean.”
“Semantics matter, D.”
“Not really- fine, whatever. Let’s get to exploring,” Donnie conceded, excitedly flicking his goggles down with a smirk.
It was an instinct, really, that you clasped a hand over your mouth and terribly concealed a laugh upon seeing his goggle-covered eyes.
He stared at you blankly. “What?”
You waved your hand in front of you to dismiss yourself. “I’m sorry- I’ve just never seen you in the goggles.”
“I’ve worn them during every interaction of ours.”
“No, I mean like on your eyes. It makes them look all beady.”
“Wow. I appreciate that.”
You quickly defended yourself. “In a good way! It’s not bad, just different.”
“Ah yes, ‘beady in a good way’. I’ll log that one in the books.”
“Seriously, I thought they looked cute.”
He looked taken aback, lips pursed and face warm at that assertion.
“Not like that. Like an objective kind of cute.” You shook your head in disbelief at the words you were spewing. “Actually, nevermind. Forget I said any of that.”
“Agreed.” He rolled his eyes and set to work scanning shelves and drawers for any traces of the mysticism you were pursuing. For his sake, you didn’t mention how the pink tint on his face didn’t disappear until minutes into your guys’ search.
The search ended up unsuccessful. Sure, while scouring shelves and cabinets and odd cages around the spacious laboratory you found a whole lot more than you would expect in an abandoned building - elements in sealed jars, flasks of what seemed to be potions or ingredients - but nothing close to a crystal or gem.
After working your way around the room, you looked up at Donnie.
He shook his head and walked over to you. “It appears the lab’s a bust for any type of crystal. Not a total loss, though.” He held up a container labeled ‘emp.’ before one of the mechanical hands from his battle shell stored it for him. Another of the hands gave your shoulder a reassuring pat.
You shook your head. “No, we’re getting you a crystal, man.” You paused, thought of an alternative. “Are there any stores or markets nearby that might have them?”
“Ohmigosh, you are just full of great ideas.” You and Donnie began moving back toward the front.
He sounded like he might have meant that, but his voice was still startlingly monotonous. You narrowed your eyes, put your head askew. “For real?”
“Yes, this time,” the turtle nodded before excitedly gliding back down the entrance’s stairs.
You laughed, following along. “This time?”
“Surprisingly enough, yes.”
You caught up to him and landed a firm, still playful jab to his side.
“Just stop yapping and take us there.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After what felt like eons of continuous motion, you two made it onto the streets of the Hidden City.
Brightly colored banners, advertisements, decorations, adorned lampposts all up and down the streets, though you avoided certain battle-themed ones. Multitudes of languages and dialects could be heard all around. The smells of delectable foods wafted through the air, sweet, savory, spicy, but you couldn’t pay them any mind. You were on a gem-hunting mission. Even if it wasn’t going very well currently.
The merchant running a crystal stand was slumped over on their counter, boredly staring at the customers that had been occupying their business for minutes on end without making a choice i.e. you and Donnie.
You raised an index finger at a particular pretty purple gem sitting in a pile of other ones on the counter of the stand.
Donnie flicked on his goggles and shook his head. “Uh, no. Not remotely. We’re looking to avoid overcurrent; that thing has enough mystic mojo to wipe out half the city.”
You slowly placed it down. “Oookay then. Glad to be of service,” you muttered.
He pursed his lips at your interesting body language. Slumped shoulders, hints of dejection in your voice - you weren’t having fun. Maybe it was because he immediately turned down the last five of your suggestions, but who could definitively say why?
“The issue is that you keep grabbing crystals that emit cool colors, which, as you know from the electromagnetic spectrum, correlate to a higher frequency. We don’t want that. So, as much as I would enjoy a violet crystal to match my ambience, something with a less vibrant, warmer hue works best.”
You slowly digested what he just said. Cautiously, your hand crept back to the merchant’s display and selected an auburn gem.
“That one’s frequency is too low-”
“Of course it is.”
“-but you’re on the right track! Try a little further down the electromagnetic spectrum-”
“What, something like this?” You gestured toward an amber gem that was near the bottom of the pile, exasperated.
Donnie hummed. “Actually, yeah. That’s just fine.”
“Really?”
“Shhh,” Donnie waved a hand telling you to calm down before pulling you aside. “There’s no fixed price on the signs here. If we seem too excited or gullible-”
“We get duped?” you guessed.
“We get duped. So stay cool, and let me handle this.”
Donnie cracked his knuckles and turned back to the stand, professionally ready to bargain and deal with the price.
He still ended up paying a ridiculous price for the small gem’s size, but you didn’t know if you’d ever seen him grin so proudly, so you didn’t say a word about it.
The first time you spoke up after the deal was made was after passing by a food cart and hearing your stomach rumble.
Donnie almost kept walking without you before you loosely clasped onto his wrist.
Puzzled, he turned back to you.
“Would you want to get something to eat? Like, while we’re down here,” you asked.
He pursed his lips. Just as he opened his mouth to retort or deny the requests, you were both hit with a wave of the most scrumptious food you’d smelled probably in your entire life.
“Okay, you have to admit that smell is heavenly,” you looked at him knowingly.
“I don’t have to do anything, but those do look fire.”
You gave him the best pleading look you had, and you could pinpoint the exact moment he caved in.
“Alright, we can take a quick detour from the exit.”
“Heck yeah! You rock, no correlation to geology,” you winked, adjusting your grip from his wrist to his hand so that you two wouldn’t get separated from you charging through the crowd.
And charge through that crowd you did.
Donnie in tow behind you, you bounded through the crowd excitedly, scarcely avoiding collisions all over.
However, the complaining Donatello in hand and sweating were inconsequential compared to being in line for a brand new type of culinary experience.
You were practically buzzing with joy, so excited that you momentarily forgot to relinquish Donnie’s hand. You still did though, just a moment shy of awkwardness.
You had made a good deal, had good company, and were about to have good food. What more could you want?
Still beaming, you felt your phone buzzing in your pocket and pulled it out.
The smile on your face quickly receded as you checked who was calling.
“Just a moment, I need to take this,” you muttered before slipping out of line and off through the crowd.
Donnie froze. He didn’t like the fact that whoever called seemed to ruin your mood, nor the idea of you being alone in an entirely unfamiliar city.
Reluctantly, he relinquished his spot in line - which was painfully close to the front, might he add - to find you.
It took a moment of weaving left and right, dodging up and down through a flurry of wings and tails for him to find the space between two buildings that you had moved yourself into.
Not wanting to intrude, he stood right outside the small alley, listening in by a complete coincidence. Certainly not out of nosiness in the slightest. Nope.
Anyway, he only got close enough to hear you mid-sentence.
“-you serious? Now, I don’t know if your section of New York is in a different time zone, but for me right now it is way too dark and way too late to be calling for conferences.”
A pause. Scraggly sounds faintly sounded from the other side of the call, not that he could make out an inkling of it. You, on the other hand, understood it all too well.
“Obligatory? Yes, I know what obligatory means, I just find the notion of a required meeting kinda dumb- Sorry, I mean extremely dumb.”
Another pause of you presumably getting chewed out passed before you, begrudgingly, grumbled, “Ugh, if you insist. Be there later.”
The phone call ended after that, and Donnie had no clue what to do.
Walking in normally could make it seem like he was eavesdropping, which he was but he didn’t want you to know that, but he couldn’t just stand still either.
After some careful contemplation, Donnie looked around and stumbled (definitely not purposefully) into the alley you were in. He seemed somewhat concerned; he hadn’t seen you that perturbed before.“Is everything alright?” he muttered vaguely, not wanting to overstep.
“Just yelling at my… mother’s urn- Anyway, once again, I have really got to go, this has been really fun, we should do this again sometime, am I missing anything else?” you joked lightheartedly. Thankfully the mood, along with Donnie, followed your attitude shift.
“I feel like a ‘thanks, you’re the best’ may be due,” your companion urged jokingly.
“Thanks Donnie, you’re the best.”
He huffed. “Kidding. I was kidding.”
“I wasn’t.”
For a probably too long moment, he made eye contact with you and your startlingly genuine eyes. Eventually, he tore his gaze away and cleared his throat. “... Let’s get you back to the surface.”
The trip back to the site of the portal was mostly silent, just the two of you trekking shoulder to shoulder through crowds of characters, before you entered the vertigo-inducing light once again.
The wind bit harshly at you as soon as you landed back on New Yorkian ground, an unkind reminder of the end of your adventure.
You blew a puff of warm air onto your hands and almost started walking on instinct before Donnie spoke, reminding you of his presence.
“Are you alright going back on your own?” he questioned quietly, almost coyly.
“I mean, I made it here on my own. I think I’ve got it covered.”
“Oh. Okay,” he concurred with a nod before giving you a pair of thumbs up. “In that case, make it home safely. Text you later?”
“Later,” you agreed emphatically. With one more nudge of his arm and a pivot in the other direction, you were off, out of the construction zone, on the sidewalk, down the street.
As you moved toward your destination, the skyscrapers and towering structures lining your path grew taller, more opulent, more lavish. Insignificant residentials morphed into substantial, old money commercials. Your heart rate climbed.
You paused in front of the grand doors of your location and took a deep, steadying breath. It was just some quick business you had to take care of. Brief. Inconsequential. Everything would be fine.
With some renewed confidence, or at least some semblance of it, you pulled on the handle and swiftly entered the hotel’s lobby.
The door closed thickly behind you with a thud.
Resonate. Absolute. Irrevocable.
psychic/intuitive astro placements for Pluto
Tumblr media
In Astrology, Pluto symbolises regeneration, transformation, and spiritual rebirth. This planet represents subconscious forces, ruling all that is below the surface. A Starseed origin in alignment here is the origin in which you're most connected to in the underworld. This is your 1st and 2nd dimensional origin expression.
Pluto is a generational planet that changes signs between every 12-31 years, and governs the sign of Scorpio.
*Psychic/Intuitive Astrological placements for the planet Pluto* "I Empower"
Sagittarius: (1995-2008) great prophetic abilities were stimulated during Pluto's time in Sagittarius. These natal chart holders were born with natural visionary abilities and a faith in human nature. Especially if Pluto is in alignment with Lyra or the Shaula Starseed origin which run along the Sagittarius degrees.
Scorpio: (1983-1995) these natal chart holders were born with a strong intuition and a great psychic ability that is likely to be well-developed. Especially if Pluto is in alignment with the stargate Antares (The Family of Archangel Uriel) which runs along the Scorpio degrees. Pluto is most comfortable here in its home sign, but since Pluto is a generational planet other psychic/intuitive aspects/natal placements are needed to activate it.
Pluto in 1st house: intuitive. These chart holders radiate intensity naturally and are likely to have well-developed instincts. Especially if Pluto is running along an Aries degree (regardless of what sign Pluto is in) which is connected to the stargate Pleiades.
Pluto in 3rd house: mystic, intuitive, and prone to prophetic visions. Especially if Pluto is running along a Gemini degree which is connected to the Orion stargate. These chart holders have a very analytic mind and they instinctively search for hidden meanings. They are very observant and they learn through observation of others.
Pluto in 5th house: intuitive, creative, and possess powerful visionary capabilities. These chart holders act as creative catalysts for the collective and they possess powerful creative impulses. Especially if Pluto is running along a Leo degree which is connected to the Regulus Starseed origin (The Family of Archangel Raphael.)
Pluto in 8th house: these chart holders possess a strong intuition and are possibly clairvoyant. They're likely to experience more unusual events than others due to their fascination of all that is hidden, taboo, or "dark." They are gifted with great healing abilities that come naturally to them. Especially if Pluto is running along a Scorpio degree which is connected to the stargate Antares (The Family of Archangel Uriel.)
Pluto in 9th house: intuitive, drawn to psychology and/or occult topics, very mystical. These chart holders possess a great inner depth to them and a profound, unique inner wisdom. Some of these chart holders make for the greatest spiritual teachers/leaders. Especially if Pluto is running along a Sagittarius degree which is connected to the Lyra and Shaula Starseed origin.
Pluto in 12th house: possess a deep healing power, intuitive and mystical in nature. Especially if Pluto is running along a Pisces degree which is connected to the Andromeda Galaxy. These chart holders are inclined to go deep, explore the meaning behind their dreams, and analyze their personal psychology. They are quite adept at comprehending others' motives, and it's possible that they discover they have healing powers and tune in quite quickly to others' struggles and vulnerabilities. Understanding more than most. They have a strong empathy with a sense that we are all capable of good and evil. (This goes for most 12th house placements, though. Especially Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, and/or Pluto in this position.)
Note: not all astrological placements for Pluto are listed. If your Pluto house/sign is not listed that does not mean that you do not have other intuitive/psychic indicators in your chart. Everybody has intuitive and psychic placements to one degree or another in their astrological chart. This is why it is important to refer to the entire astrological chart as a whole! <3
What house/sign is your Pluto in? Note below! Mine's in 5th house Sagittarius! :)
Dragon Spirit Animal: Embracing the Power of Mythical Wisdom
The Dragon Spirit Animal emerges as a beacon of strength in the realm of spiritual symbolism. Known across various cultures, this mythical creature serves as a guide for those seeking transformation and personal power.
The Dragon Spirit Animal stands as a powerful symbol in various cultures, embodying strength, wisdom, and a deep connection to the mystical realms. This article delves into the rich symbolism and spiritual significance of the Dragon as a spirit animal, exploring how it guides individuals towards personal power and transformation.
Dragon Totem: A Symbol of Strength and Spiritual Guidance
Embodiment of Inner Strength: The Dragon totem is a symbol of immense inner strength and courage, guiding individuals to uncover their latent power.
Spiritual Guidance and Wisdom: The Dragon, revered in dragon mythology, offers spiritual guidance, encouraging seekers to delve into the depths of wisdom.
Protection and Mystical Power: As a protector in mythical symbolism, the Dragon represents a guarding force, wielding mystical power and energy.
The Role of the Dragon in Different Cultures
Eastern Beliefs: In Eastern traditions, Dragons symbolize prosperity and good fortune, embodying a positive force in spiritual journeys.
Western Narratives: Contrastingly, in Western myths, Dragons often symbolize challenges to be overcome, representing a journey of courage and perseverance.
Contemporary Spiritual Practices: Today, Dragon energy is seen as a catalyst for spiritual awakening, helping individuals navigate their spiritual path.
Native American Dragon Symbolic Meanings
The concept of dragons, as they are commonly known in many parts of the world, doesn’t have a direct equivalent in traditional Native American mythology. However, there are creatures in these cultures that share some similarities with dragons, such as being powerful, serpentine, and often connected to natural forces. These beings can vary significantly between tribes and their respective mythologies.
1.Horned Serpents: In many tribes, especially among the Southeastern and Great Lakes tribes, there are legends of horned serpents. These creatures are often associated with water and are considered powerful and sometimes dangerous. They could control elements of weather and were respected as powerful spirit beings.
2.Underwater Panthers: Some cultures, like the Anishinaabe and other Great Lakes tribes, speak of an underwater panther, a powerful creature that was seen as a master of all aquatic creatures and a counterpart to the Thunderbirds of the sky. This being could sometimes be similar to dragon lore in other cultures, representing a kind of primal power and mystery.
3.Avanyu, the Tewa Water Serpent: In Pueblo mythology, especially among the Tewa-speaking tribes, Avanyu is a serpent-like creature that controls the weather, particularly rain and thunderstorms. It’s a symbol of both destruction and renewal, often depicted in rock art and pottery.
4.Symbolic Meanings: These creatures, though not dragons in the traditional sense, carry significant symbolic meanings. They are often seen as guardians of sacred places, symbols of transformation and power, and mediators between the physical and spiritual worlds.
5.Respect and Caution: In many Native American cultures, these powerful creatures are approached with a mix of respect and caution. They are considered as beings with their own agency and power, demanding respect and offering wisdom or protection in return.
6.Cultural Variations: It’s crucial to note that the interpretation and importance of these creatures can vary greatly between different tribes and their traditions. What might be a protective spirit in one culture could be a more malevolent force in another.
Dragon as a Celtic Animal Symbol
The dragon is a powerful symbol in Celtic mythology and iconography, representing a variety of profound meanings and associations. In Celtic culture, dragons were seen as creatures of great power and magic, often connected with the land and its inherent powers.
1.Symbol of Sovereignty and Power: Dragons in Celtic lore were often seen as guardians of the land and its treasures. They were symbols of power and strength, and their connection with the land made them natural emblems of sovereignty. Kings and leaders were often associated with dragons as a sign of their power and their divine right to rule.
2.Connection to the Earth and Elements: Celtic dragons were deeply connected to the land and the forces of nature. They were often seen as embodying the power of the Earth itself, with connections to the elements, particularly fire and water. This connection made them powerful symbols of the natural world and its cycles.
Representations in Celtic Art: Dragons were a popular motif in
3.Celtic art, often represented in Celtic knots and spirals. These intricate designs symbolized the interconnectivity of all life, with dragons often serving as a reminder of the primal forces of nature and the cosmos.
4.Protectors and Challengers: In some tales, dragons were seen as protectors, guarding sacred sites and treasures. In others, they were challenges to be overcome, representing chaos and destruction that needed to be tamed or defeated, often as part of a hero’s journey.
5.Metaphors for Transformation and Wisdom: Dragons in Celtic stories were often seen as wise beings, holding ancient knowledge. They were sometimes considered shape-shifters, capable of transforming their form, which made them symbols of transformation, adaptability, and the ability to transcend the ordinary.
6.Influence on Celtic Rulers: Some Celtic rulers used the image of the dragon as a symbol of their power. The red dragon, in particular, has become a national symbol of Wales, derived from the dragons found in Celtic mythology and symbolizing the strength and resilience of the Welsh people.
Integrating Dragon Energy for Personal Transformation
To harness the energy of the Dragon Spirit Animal, one can engage in practices that foster connection and insight:
Meditation and Visualization: Visualizing the Dragon during meditation can enhance spiritual connectivity and insight.
Creative Expression: Artistic endeavors inspired by the Dragon can facilitate a deeper understanding of this powerful spirit guide.
Reflective Practices: Reflecting on the qualities of the Dragon can help internalize its strengths and virtues.
Yeah I know that Monster Jon or whatever is on the Train with Sam, but I've got a burning theory that isn't about that so suck it!
That magic Key thing is absolutely coming back right? Like how could it not? This isn't a Stupid Umbrella scenario, this could very well be a cursed artifact on par with The Coffin or even The Camera! C'mon, a mystical skeleton key that can open ANYTHING?! To me that just screams "that's a surprise tool that will help us later!"
Also hey, remember episode 9, that case from this world's Magnus Institute about the cursed dice? Haha funny, look it's Mr Dungeons and Dragons himself, Gary Gygax! Oh, it was so hilarious that the guy giving the statement committed to the bit with being a Mysterious Stranger lmao 😂
FOOLS! Remember what was said near the beginning of the statement? The person in the statement said that the Institute was specifically looking for "supernaturally active items", and the paperwork bits had 3 lines that said: "Viability as subject: none. Viability as agent: low. Viability as catalyst: medium." This is more than just wanting to put artifacts into their storage vault, THE INSTITUTE WANTS TO USE THEM SOMEHOW!
Now, if there was supposedly a hole leading into other realities still sitting atop Hilltop Road, perhaps a great way to access it would be a key of some sort? Like a magic key that could open literally anything? I'D BET MY BOTTOM DOLLAR THAT IT WILL BE RELEVANT LATER!!!
