Don't usually stray off-fandom, but dear lord above how do I explain to whoever asks me what is your favourite piece of writing that it is probably this red white and royal blue fanfiction?

Oh my God. This fic just discombobulated everything inside me and reorganized them right back. I cannot even begin to tell you how it just made me scream my lungs out because suddenly I don't want the movie to be about the book, I want it about this instead. I want this to be canon, in the way us authors do figment canon and believe it. I want this to be the continuation and the prequel to that book I spent days obsessing over.

@zipadeea your fic deserves to be read worldscale. It legitimately has no fault for it to fall under the umbrella of canon. If I were the author of RWRB, I would literally hand you some of the copyrights myself.

Wow. What a wonder fic. If this post, by some chance, enters the RWRB fandom-base, please just literally leave anything in your hand right now and read it. You'll exponentially fall in love even more with the characters you thought you loved more than anything.

So I just read the entire Death and the Devil series (LJ Hayward) in approximately a week. It was genuinely adorable and trashy romance with a lot of plot and emotional depth. They made me giddy and hit so many of the best tropes from their genre. Ugh I loved them so much.

fox did a time-and-labor-intensive gift of love to due South fandom by creating an annotated transcript of every episode of the show. See fox's "Return to due South: index of annotated transcripts" at fox's DW.

Yes and no. Not like I should. I am so deeply, truly grateful for every single one.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Well, I killed William in Inhaling the Different Dawn, but that wasn’t at the end.

Maybe Where The Vines Cling Crimson? Scully’s cancer comes back and her fate is ambiguous. And I had Scully kill Emily in Alabaster Stones. But I think that was the right ending for both of them.

As a mother? A Basket of Reeds, where Scully gives William away. I can’t even reread it without a lump in my throat, man.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Tent of Shelter is fluffy and lovely gets a lot of love, and was inspired by a STUNNING manip by @avocadoave but I personally think In The Gale. It’s the one that, to me, feels the most like a grownup relationship of two people processing some trauma. I think that’s an ending that’s happy and also real - like “I don’t love being broken, but I can survive being broken with you.” Two abeyances that lean…

Foxfire for similar reasons. I real love that little story, which I wrote thanks to @perplexistan

I’m 43. I’ve been married for well over two decades and let me tell you that young love is a gift and mature love is a craft.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Some! And that’s really great too, that people read words I wrote and felt so passionately that they left me words about those feelings. What a strange but profound compliment!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do. PWP isn’t my personal taste so even though I wrote a LOT of smut for the old pornbattles at LJ I wanted the smut to still tell a story.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I can’t say it’s especially crazy, but Fern Hill is a Mulder/Stella Gibson crossover. There are a few little ficlets with XF/Silence of the Lambs crossovers in my Inbox Prompts series.

Oh fuck! Wait! I wrote a Fall/Hannibal/XF crossover called Anthemoessa where Stella, Scully, and Bedelia all meet. Okay that’s it. That wins.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Years ago. God, isn’t that sad? To need positive reinforcement that much?

I think I do pretty good banter and my education makes me pretty good at the sciencey bits.

I get too lost in descriptions and I try too hard to be clever. I do my best to self edit but sometimes I reread things and I’m like oh my GOD SHUT YOUR PRETENTIOUS ASS UP.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I’ve done it for Bedelia and Hannibal in Italian. I’m not sure I understand the question?

19. First fandom you wrote for?

TXF, my one true love.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I don’t know that I have a favorite per se. I am most proud of the ones that challenged me to do something outside my comfort zone. Samson is one of mytop fives even though it’s Mulder/Diana. I think I did a nice job. I also wrote Pair of Aces/Double or Nothing which is Scully/Byers.

But I do really love the world of Petrichor and Singing of Mount Abora, and I like the cases.

Grays - coming soon

Frankie lost by one vote to Palomino Jack in the WIP vote back in July, but trust me, I haven’t stopped thinking about showering this man with self-care and self-affirmation since. I'll be posting Grays on my birthday week as a present to myself 🙃

Just to recap, this idea came to me a few months ago, and this is what I wrote to LJ @prolix-yuy at the time:

Me: I’ve never really wanted to write for Frankie before. But I’m at the hairdresser’s and I suddenly got the idea that Frankie came into Reader’s salon to get his greys dyed cos he’s going a wedding or something, and she’s like HELL NO I will do no such thing

LJ: And he’s all bummed out looking in the mirror but once she’s like “I’ll give you a fantastic cut and style but you better not cover up the silver fox you got going on,” he’s suddenly looking at himself like damn, I do look kinda good 🤤

It was meant to be a oneshot, but it got long (is anyone surprised?), and I split it into two parts. And now that I’ve written first part, I’m a bit on the fence as to whether to leave it like that, or to write the second part as well…

Anyway, for now, sneak preview below the cut:

When your nails slide slickly into his hair with the conditioner, his stubborn body finally, slowly unfurls. His head tips back of its own accord, baring the column of his strong neck as he leans inadvertently into your touch. Colour returns to his knuckles when he releases his death grip on the backwash. 

You smile to yourself, scraping your fingertips along his scalp in a firm massage, watching his chest rise and fall as he teeters on the brink of consciousness.

‘Still with me, Morales?’ you tease quietly.

Ok so a couple thoughts on the USA and just other big teams that got knocked out.

Definitely not what we expected from the US but why did we expect that? Think about it, this a young team where most of the starters and subs were all at there first World Cup. I think this needed to happen to the US. they needed to not be the best anymore and for the next couple years just completely start over. The old generation is starting to leave so it's time to get a clean slate with these new young players. Basically, restart the program. Morgan, Rapinoe, Ertz, and O'hara are among those who are probably done. There were some amazing younger players that shined this tournament (Naomi Girma, Emily Fox, even Sophia Smith though not as well as expected). Its good for the US to just restart with a new team and a new coach *cough cough fire Vlatko. This team needs to spend more time on the field together. Remember Japan won in 2011 and the US came back with 2 world cup wins in a row, so I'm guessing in 4 years when these players are a little more experienced and have played with each other more they will be a really good team.

Now, my point that they need a fresh start with young players and a new manager is exactly what some teams have already done or need to do as well. Take England. They brought in Sarina a new manager and she just completely did the team over. Leah williamson as the new captain, Beth Mead on the squad, younger players like Russo, Toone and LJ getting minutes and shining. And then they won the Euros. See I think the US certainly have the talent they just need to build off of it.

Ok so Canada. I think same thing. Sinclair and Schmidt and Chapman are all probably on the way out. Now we got younger players, Huitema, Olivia Smith, Riviere, Grosso. I like Bev priestmann a lot, but I think if we want to see a new Canada team that utilizes the young and up and coming players we might need a new coach. Definitely a disappointment of a world cup from canada.

Germany and Brazil are pretty much the same. Brazil is losing one of the best players of all time, someone who has been the centre of that team for like 2 decades. They have such amazing players, Geyse being the young player that comes to my mind. Piano Sundhage I'm thinking is gone. and now it's just about again, getting the younger players time to shine alongside each other. And Germany. Oh Germany. Again, they have such amazing young players, Obi (who is arguably the best young player in the world rn), Brand, and Sydney Lohmann. I don't want to say Popp will retire because let's be honest that woman could play forever. But, the old generation is on it's way out and the new generation has to be shown the same kind of love. When you have such amazing young talent you have to take the future seriously and not just try to hold onto the past. I think that goes for all the team aforementioned.

Hey nons! Clash of fandoms, huh? Bet we could make it!

You've got me thinking so much about the idea, really. I can easily envision Alex being Sirius and Henry Remus, (since Henry and Remus are long lost twins in the multiverse), and you know what is also so cool? The reverse of their canonic backgrounds, being:

1. Henry paralleling Sirius instead for the troubled background and pureblood mania that Henry has always been trying to escape.

2. Alex paralleling Remus in their relationships with Ellen and Hope.

And I think this inverse of situations would give a much more solid grasp on their character depths and a greater ability to fluctuate between the two fandoms.

So if you're asking how I feel about the idea as a reader, I would totally pay my last two cents to read it. But as a writer, I don't think I'm at the stage of fully grasping Alex and Henry's characterizations yet. Yes I've been silently obsessing over them for two years now, but not yet enough no. If it was the reverse, a RWRB AU, then yes I'd write Remus and Sirius for sure; they are like second nature to me by now for all the years I grew up writing and introspecting over them. I'm unfortunately one of those writers who care so much about characterization that I'd never forgive myself for writing something OOC, welp!

But it's definitely an idea worth mulling over! Don't be an anon and let's further chat about it if you want :)

Saw the Deadpool & Wolverine a second time. Upon it's second viewing I must admit that nostalgia factor got to me, and I was not just being very aroused xD

I dunno, like, X-Men was thing. You can't believe how into Wolverine I was back in the first Fox movie like holy shit was crushing over Wolverine/Rogue.

Do you ever go back to your old ships from like tweens or something and be like ummm that explains a lot about preferences in adulthood like fuck what was that tension between Wolverine and Rogue in first two movies.

Anyway, when it comes to superhero comics, I almpst exclusively have ever been interested in X-Men. I'm one few people in existence who likes X-Men Origins Wolverine. I know that butt of a joke, but honestly. Everything Wolverine is just lovely to me. Had a postes of that mocie up on my walls for many uears. Involved wigh some LJ fangroup, jesus.

And I always think first Deadpool just happened. Didn't I see with someone on a date, that wasn't so long ago, what 2016? Holy shit.

Now that side of the multiverse is done. Was already kinda done on Logan. And the rests of the verse over at MCU side doesn't feel like is going places. Deadpool & Wolverine was so fun and violent and sexy. It made me think that might be the last time I get connection to that side of my interests again. My young self is dead and so is like the X-Men that catered to me.
