I want to learn about it, but do not know where to start.

Every counting system started out in base one, where the way to calculate the digits was the things you wanted to count, but that easily becomes tiresome.

Ex: Sally has 000 rocks and Tom has 0000, if Tom gave Sally 00 rocks, how many rocks does Sally have now?

Question 0: I want to separate 000000 rocks into rows of 00 how many columns can I make?

Question 00: how many bricks would it take to fill an area that is 000000000000 bricks wide and 0000 bricks long? (Bonus points if you show your work)
