Why do I need to be in control all the time? I know that it only burdens me but being out of control feels even worse.

I sincerely am shocked by my own decisions consistently. I want to put my head in a blender and run it through the entire day again but on x3 speed and preferably on less sleep, if possible.
Why would anyone knock on my door for anything of value?

do not be surprised when your kids become resentful of you for forcing them to help you achieve your dream.
I don't mean the standard, "I'm going back to school to be a nurse, so money will be tight. can you drop out of ___?"
I mean "I want to be a nurse so everyday you are in charge of helping me study, and making sure I get my assignments done on time. And I know that you still go to school and have your own life, but I'm your parents so I can control you. Good night!"

I've noticed something really creepy about my hometown lately. Ever since I got back for the summer, it's like I can’t go anywhere without seeing at least one officer or flashing lights (and I live in a small town interspersed with cornfields). I spoke to the sheriff recently and he told me that they've been writing up tickets on mass (seventy tickets in one week being the specifics) and, from what he described, they were petty and needless.
He ticketed someone for having weeds growing in their fire pit, he ticketed someone for having grass a bit too long, and then complained (rather patronizingly) that they couldn’t ticket someone for their unkempt lawn because they had mulch and it was thus legally considered landscaping.
Does anyone know what's going on? It's really creeping me out. I'm double checking that there isn’t a curfew because I want to go put biking and— I'm still uncomfortable with going.

WDYM constantly wanting to be in control isn't healthy. I'm in the prime of my youth. That's just my inner dom wanting to shine. It's called micromanaging? Hmm....I don't think that's it.

I'm going to show you how to effectively hold your team accountable without micromanaging them. Yes, it’s possible - it just takes the right approach as a leader.

Love when my mom comes home from a trip she didn’t even need to take and immediately starts micromanaging, criticizing everything my stepdad and I did and didn’t do while she was gone.
