eavesdropping
gojo satoru x fem!reader
summary: seriously, the door was already open
warnings: satoru is an idiot, as per usual, sad tsumiki :(

*
year one.
satoru approaches the door to tsumiki’s room and he pauses.
after two weeks straight with the kids, you’d finally returned back to work--leaving the three of them to fend for themselves for the day--but you'd insisted on coming over for dinner.
to which satoru suggested, for the twentieth time, that you might as well stay the night. might as well move in already.
really, there's plenty of space.
but you'd pinched his arm and pushed past him at the door, telling the kids that you brought dinner. you didn't stay behind to watch satoru cradle his arm or smile at the back of your head.
and, seriously, he doesn't mean to eavesdrop (if he meant to he would've planned out something much more sophisticated than this) but the door is already slightly cracked.
“—but megumi doesn’t like it," he hears tsumiki say, soft and concerned. her tiny voice is a whisper through the opened door, so satoru takes another step towards it.
“that’s okay," he hears your voice saying, "you can talk about it if you want.”
one eye appears through the crack and he can see you and tsumiki, curled up on the bed, her eyes looking up at yours, tear stains an obvious sin.
satoru is quiet as he pushes the door, ever so slightly.
“he always ignores me when i talk about my mom or his dad, or he says something mean about them. sometimes he won’t talk to me for the rest of the day.”
this seems plausible. just five minutes ago satoru had witnessed an influx of cursed energy coming from megumi when tsumiki merely mentioned their old house and the dolls she kept on her windowsill.
he can still feel that anger brewing now, but megumi, so you’ve said to him, needs to breathe. you didn't exactly tell him to exit the table and leave the little boy alone, or come to tsumiki's room to check on the two of you, but, he knows that's what you meant. you don't have to say something for satoru to help out. he’s just doing what’s best for all of you.
honestly, you probably wouldn't even mind that he's listening in on this conversation.
you tilt your head at her. “did you ask him why?”
tsumiki sniffles, she pushes a sticky hand at the hair matted to her head, so you gently push it away and move it for her instead, much gentler with her than you've ever been with him. satoru almost complains, before he remembers that he's not even there.
“he thinks that they don’t care about us,” tsumiki answers, the hurt obvious in her voice, "he—he can’t remember everything that i can, but he doesn’t care. he doesn't want to.”
you coo at her softly, nodding your head with every word.
satoru has never heard the little girl so sad--he's used to her smiling face and bright energy. honestly, if there's an opposite to cursed energy, it would be tsumiki.
you must feel as disturbed by the difference in the little girl as he does because he watches as you try to restrain a frown.
satoru's eyes are wide through the crack as you attempt a smile. “it’s okay to not feel the same,” you tell her, “wanting to remember your parents isn’t going to make megumi hate you.”
“but it upsets him.”
“well not talking about it upsets you, right?” you say this the same way you chide satoru. and, yeah, you typically know best.
not that he'll ever admit that.
but tsumiki nods.
“then you should talk about it. don’t worry about megumi. you can tell me about them, or satoru.”
he wants to open the door completely just at the sound of his name.
“really?”
“you can talk about whatever you want with us. we’ll always listen," your smile is genuine now.
satoru tries to imagine you as a little girl, with someone wiping your tears away. but he doesn't quite believe that you were ever as small as tsumiki looks now. you'll always be this to him, he supposes, safe and infallible.
even when you were younger, blinking idly at him as he introduced himself to his new underclassmen, you were certain. he's always been sure about that.
tsumiki frowns, her eyes wide. “gojo put his hands over his ears and started singing yesterday when you asked him to take the trash out.”
he has to catch a laugh. you shift around on the bed, your face is stern but satoru can see you about to laugh.
you nudge her with your head, teasing. “i didn’t say he always listens to me.”
the little girl laughs as you nuzzle her nose and for a moment, satoru thinks he's invading.
but how can he walk away when the two of you are cuddled so close, looking so cute together? he should probably take a picture, just so he can always remember this.
but then again, a camera probably wouldn't capture the supple sound of tsumiki's laugh as you cuddle her, or your smile as you hold her closer.
so he just stands there, observing.
you don't say anything as the girl thinks, merely rub your hand up and down on her back, like a reminder that you're still there.
tsumiki remains quiet for a moment, and then she whispers, “i’m afraid that i’ll forget about my mom."
satoru is shocked by the statement, little pricks of guilt perusing through his chest. during all of the digging he did about toji zenin, he wasn't sure where the woman was, or if she was worth finding. he hadn't even thought of it, really. he wasn't very good at that.
and he watches as you pause, feeling kind of eager to see how you'll respond.
your hand continues its circles, and you smile, gently, knowing. “i used to feel that way too," you tell her, just as softly.
and maybe that hurts satoru even more.
“really?”
“yeah. i don’t talk to my mom anymore, but i used to worry that i would forget how she smelled," your nose falls in tsumiki's hair, and you pause for a moment. satoru almost smiles as you close your eyes. "or the way she hugged me," you add, squeezing.
he's never really heard you talk about your parents before. the vauge comment here and there, sure, but nothing more. he knows the bare bones of when you left home—if only from what yaga told suguru, a million years ago, but nothing more. you don’t talk about that.
or maybe he's just never asked.
tsumiki nods, her wide eyes kind of amazed at the confession. and satoru is suddenly glad that he let you follow tsumiki to her room, that he knocked on your door that first night when he wasn't sure what to do with either of them.
you understand this better than he ever could. better than he ever will.
“did you forget?”
you smile. “no. it’s hard to forget those little things, no matter how long it’s been," you consider it for a second, "i don’t remember a lot about her but i remember hugging her when she got home from work, and the way she said my name.”
tsumiki's perks up, “do you think it’ll be like that for me?”
“i don’t know, sweetheart. it could be. you might remember more than i do," you cup her face for a moment, hoping with her.
“my mom always wore rose perfume,” tsumiki's hands cover your own, and she looks closely at you, like satoru wishes he could. “do you miss your mom?”
satoru holds his breath for a moment, and your eyes narrow as you think.
“sometimes," you admit.
“does it make you sad?”
“every once in a while.“
tsumiki swallows, her face falling. “i miss my mom."
you kiss her head. satoru sees your eyes flutter closed as you speak to her, so softly he almost misses it. “it’s okay to be sad without them.”
satoru closes his eyes with you, for just a moment.
he thinks about aquariums and trips to abandoned houses and souvenirs that he couldn't keep but covet.
and his eyes open again.
“really?” tsumiki asks as if she doubts it.
“yeah. that’s just the way love comes out sometimes. it makes you sad.”
“will it always?”
“well, you’ll always love your mom, right?” the girl nods without thinking, and you smile at her. “then being without her will always make you a little sad. and sometimes a lot. but it’ll find its place in your heart, like everything does.”
tsumiki thinks about this for a moment.
satoru wants her to ask how many holes you have in your heart, and if you think they could ever be filled.
and he also wants her to never ask you anything again. he shouldn't be listening to this, but he's stuck at the door.
“do you think about your parents a lot?”
“almost every day,” you say, looking away from the girl for a moment. and then you look back. “but i think about how my mom is happy where she is, and how i’m happy where i am.”
satoru almost falls through the door.
“you are?”
“well yeah,” you say, obviously. you squeeze her a bit. “i’ve got you here. and megumi and satoru. how couldn’t i be happy?”
tsumiki settles into you, she nods in agreement, but considers something, frowning up at you. “i don’t want megumi to be mad at me. he’s my best friend.”
“he’s not really mad,” you tell her--and, well, satoru disagrees. megumi is mad at everything. “and even if he was, he’ll always forgive you. that’s what best friends do. they argue and then make up.”
“who’s your best friend?”
your lip twitches. “satoru. and we fight all the time.”
“really? gojo?”
satoru wants to ask the same question. shoko, he might've assumed. nanami, even. if you knew he was there you would probably say that tsumiki was your best friend, just to mess with him.
but he's there, and you don't know.
you shake your head, acknowledging how crazy this statement is. “yup. i’m stuck with him.”
“has he always been your best friend?”
“oh no,” you laugh at the suggestion. “we met just a couple of years ago, at school. and he always had more friends than i did.”
“…but now?”
“he’s been my best friend for a while, i guess, but i haven’t been his for very long.”
satoru frowns.
“cause you always fight?”
you laugh. “something like that.”
something like what?
and then you turn to her, eyes on eyes, making sure that she’s looking at you. “tsumiki, you know—“
and satoru thinks that he’s heard enough. he doesn't want any more secrets or any more questions. he closes the door as quietly as possible, letting his ear linger on the wood when he hears the two of you laugh.
satoru sits for a moment, almost able to see your smile through the door, without all of his eyes, like he really took that picture.
and then he walks away, into the dining room, where megumi is pushing his dinner around on a plate.
satoru sits down.
“what are they doing?” megumi asks, gruffly. he's calmer now, satoru notes, though grumpy as ever.
“girl stuff.”
“it’s dinner time.”
“oh, megumi,” satoru tsks, shaking his head. “you’ve got lots to learn about women.”
megumi frowns. “i know more than you.”
“okay, i just came here to have a good time—“
*
later on, you’re unloading the dishwasher, trying to be quiet while the kids get ready for bed, and satoru walks in.
in striped pajamas naturally. no glasses. he is already grinning at you as he leans against the counter, his fingers tapping on the granite.
you roll your eyes automatically, pushing him a little because he's in your way.
"what, satoru?"
“so, i’m your best friend, huh?”
you turn. “i knew that door was open—“

Hello! May I ask for the BG3 gang with an autistic gn Tav who is. Very Very Large but also quite young (think like... Older teen.) who just decides that Astarion/Wyll/Halsin/Gale etc is their new favourite person and WILL NOT leave them alone.
It would be very funny if they just... didn't realise Tav was actually A Kid™ and thought they were just a weirdly clingy grownup. Except Halsin. Halsin would know Immediately.
Inspired by my dumb ass being enormous and this having happened to me irl many times.
Bg3 Characters With a Young Older Looking Autistic Tav
A/n: This idea is so silly I love it. This is obviously written as platonic because reader is younger and baulder's gate characters are older and I don't write weird stuff like that lol although I'm sure that's expected. Also also i did all of them together because I do not have the energy to write sperate headcannons for each of them, dont worry they all get their moment
Gn Reader, Child/teen Reader
Tumblr media
This was an... interesting situation
Everyone on the team assumed you were just assumed you were a bit childish for an adult
I mean could you blame them? You were massive, anyone would assume you were an adult
Except for Halsin
He could easily tell your age, but it's something he kept between the two of you, mainly for safety
Halsin takes more of a dad approach if you cling to him
He's very protective of you and teaches you new skills
He also keeps anyone else on the team from hitting on you, for obvious reasons, but wouldn't say why
He's also the most attentive when it comes to your autism, he's always keeping an eye out for you and helping when he can
It took the others longer to find, though
Wyll was the second to put two and two together
Once he realized, he grilled you about why you didn't tell anyone about it
He isn't too harsh though, and takes a more "fun uncle" role
He always makes sure to entertain you, he's the guy who's got fidgets on him just for you incase you need them
He also decides not to tell anyone for your safety after consulting with Halsin, but he does wish you said something sooner
Gale is the second to last to find out, after trying to teach you something about magic
He had questioned why you didn't know any of this, it was supposed to be common knowledge for someone your age
Or someone he thought was your age
He just stared at you blankly for a good minute after you told him how old you actually were
He's more upset at himself for not noticing to be honest
He realizes how that actually makes a lot of sense
Gale, like Halsin, also takes a more fatherly approach
he teaches you things you may have not known before, and is one of the most helpful when it comes to working through your autism
He's a knowledgeable man and can tell what you need, probably before you do
He's very protective, often insisting that you stay out of battles, but it's not like you listen to him in that department
For comedy's sake, Astarion is the last to find out, and he is pissed
He's mad that no one told him, even if it wasn't too long Gale found out and most of the party knew
He looked so dumbfounded when he found out and like Gale, was more mad that he didn't realize sooner
He's upset, but he gets over it quickly after a day or two of snarky comments and like Wyll, takes on a cool uncle postion
The whole party suddenly wants to protect you and it's suddenly become one of their top goals to return you to your parent/guardian if you have one, next to y'know, getting the worms out of your head
If you don't have somewhere to go they may or may not argue on who takes you once it's all over
Generally, you're taken good care of from then on, much better than you were before
Everyone's very attentive to you and tries to be aware of what you may need at any given point
Since they all have some type of trauma, they want to make sure the same doesn't happen to you, especially so young
Being in this situation is stressful for anyone, let alone a child, and a child with a disability
They do their best to make you happy and keep you safe
They may struggle, but they do their best, and now you have people to call family

best friend's brother cliché | r.c.
synopsis: in which you fall for Sarah's brother
my masterlist
Tumblr media
Falling for Rafe Cameron, your best friend's brother, was the epitome of a cliché.
What was even worse was that you were sneaking behind her back. You knew it was wrong and that you should just be honest to her about it, but you were scared.
They didn't get along at all or see eye to eye, ever. Telling her that you're dating her brother was not exactly the thing she'd want to hear.
"Hey there" Rafe's voice whispered in your ear as he appeared behind you.
"Hey" you gave him a small smile and looked around, making sure nobody was around before you leaned up and pecked his lips.
"What brings you here? You have plans with my sister?" he asked as he sat down on the couch next to you.
"Yeah, she said she wanted to hang out because we haven't done it in a while" you pouted, wishing more than anything that you could go up to Rafe's room and cuddle with him.
"Ah. Where is she anyway?"
"She said she had to go change"
He nodded and tapped his fingers against his leg.
"I've missed you" you whispered, taking his hand in yours.
"I've missed you, too. I haven't seen you in 2 days but it felt like 2 years" he groaned silently, resting his head against your shoulder.
"Believe me, I know. I can't believe I went 2 days without seeing your handsome face" you flirted and planted a kiss on his head.
"I saw your face everywhere I looked. I wanted nothing more than to come to your house and just stay with you all day long, but my dad kept finding things for me to do like he knew what I had been thinking about" he vented, finally being able to get things off his chest.
It wasn't like you hadn't been texting absolutely non-stop in the 2 days that you hadn't seen each other, but he always liked your conversations when you were together. They had more depth, he said.
"I'm sorry, bub" you whispered. tracing imaginary figures on his arm with the tip of your nail.
You heard someone clear their throat from behind you, making you both look back. There stood Sarah, her hands on her hips and a murderous look on her face.
"What the hell is going on here?" her voice echoed in the entire house, making you pull away from each other.
"I can explain" you said, getting up and moving towards her.
"You better. What the hell are you doing with Rafe?"
"Jesus, Sarah, lower your voice. I think there are a couple of aliens that didn't hear you" Rafe mumbled, making Sarah shoot daggers in his direction with her eyes.
"Look, this is not how I wanted you to find out" you started, trying to soften the blow as much as possible.
"Find out what?"
"That Y/N and I are dating" Rafe commented before you could say anything.
You turned around and glared at him, making him raise his hands in surrender and sit back down on the couch, this time facing you.
"I'm sorry, did you just say dating?" she was now looking at you, probably expecting you to deny what Rafe just said.
Without saying a word, you silently nodded.
"How long has this been going on?" her voice was calmer now, but she still sounded upset.
"A couple of months" your voice was really soft, not wanting to anger her more.
"So you've been sneaking around my back for months? You didn't even feel the need to tell me? Your best friend?" she asked, making you look at the ground in shame.
"Don't talk to her like that. This is exactly why we didn't want to tell you" Rafe suddenly butted in, coming over and standing in front of you.
You silently reached down and took his hand, which he gladly held.
"Oh, so now it's my fault that you've been lying to me?" Sarah continued, making you suddenly irritated by her behavior.
"Look at how you're reacting, it's like we killed someone. I can't help it if I fell in love with her, did you expect me to ask for your permission or something?" Rafe said, making your eyes widen at his statement.
"You love me?" your voice was so soft that he almost didn't hear you, but he did.
He turned around and took your face in his hands, smiling.
"Of course I do. I've been in love with you ever since you started hanging out with Sarah"
"I love you too" you whispered, bringing your hands up to rest on his that we're holding your face.
"Uh, hello? I'm still here and this conversation isn't over" Sarah interrupted your moment, making you sigh.
"Sarah, look. I never wanted this to happen because it's such a cliché to fall for your best friend's brother. But it happened, and I couldn't just stand by and do nothing. I love your brother and I'm sorry I've been keeping this from you, but I'm finally happy. Truly happy. Please just try to understand this" you took her hands in yours, trying to appeal to her soft side.
She kept looking between the two of you, not saying anything for a couple of moments.
"Is he treating you right?" she finally broke the silence, but she was still glaring at Rafe.
"He is, you know I would kick his ass if he wasn't" you chuckled at the end, making a smile appear on Sarah's face.
"Let's say I accept you two dating. Please don't make out in front of me or fuck on my bed or the couch" her look changed from a smiling to a disgusted one.
"I promise" you said, looking back at Rafe. He hesitated for a moment before agreeing.
Sarah pulled you into a hug, making you feel relieved. You had been so scared of telling her about your relationship, and even though she didn't want to hear t in the beginning, you were glad she came around.
"Be careful" she whispered in your ear once you pulled away, which you nodded it.
She turned around and left for the kitchen, giving you and Rafe some privacy.
"That went better than I thought it would" you told Rafe, wrapping your arms around his waist.
"I don't even care if she approves or not. It wouldn't stop me from being with you. But I knew it was important to you, so I figured I would behave" he smiled, holding your face in his right hand.
"Thank you" you leaned up and pressed your lips against his, closing the gap between your bodies.
"I told you no making out in front of me!!!" Sarah yelled once she came back and saw you two making out in the middle of the living room.
You both laughed, knowing that you were not going to live this down.

Bradley was sitting out on his tiny balcony, about to crack open a beer when Molly called him. She had been sending him pictures for the past hour of the two of you at some wine event, and you were both definitely looking a bit tipsy.
"Hey, Molly. You two having fun?"
"Bradley!" It was you. And he could tell immediately that something had you upset.
"Kitten? What's wrong?"
The sound of you sobbing softly met his ear, and he was out of his chair and heading inside immediately. "I need your help."
"What do you need, baby?" he asked, trying to keep his voice calm, but now he was worried. He could hear Molly talking calmly in the background while he waited for you to respond.
"I hate to ask you to do this, but Molly and I are kind of drunk. Can you go pick Everett up for me?"
Bradley was grabbing his shoes and tying the laces before the full sentence was out of your mouth. "From Danny's?" he asked, and he had such a bad feeling. It was still a couple hours before you and Molly were supposed to even be back in the city, but you sounded distraught.
"Yeah," you said softly. "He's at Danny's."
"I'll go get him now," he said, grabbing his key ring and spotting your house key there. "Text me his address."
"Oh my god, thank you so much," you gushed. "I'll owe you dinner-"
"Baby," he said, propping his phone between his ear and his shoulder. "You don't owe me anything. I'm happy to do it."
But you still whispered a soft, "Thank you."
"Do you want me to bring him back to my apartment? Or take him to your house?"
"Either one," you replied. "I'll try to reach Danny and let him know you're going to pick Ev up."
"Sounds good," Bradley replied, and you ended the call as he was starting the Bronco. And then he began to feel like everything wasn't adding up. You wanted him to pick Everett up, but Danny didn't know about it?
You texted the address, and he entered it into his GPS without giving it much more thought. If you wanted him to pick up Everett, he would do it. His eyes settled on the booster seat in the back as he pulled out of his parking space, and he got on the highway to Mission Beach.
Danny lived on a very nice street which surprised Bradley, because you had told him Everett's dad claimed he couldn't afford to pay any child support. "Fucking asshole," he muttered, putting the Bronco in park outside of the address you had sent to him. At least he probably wouldn't have to chat with Danny too much. He could just get Everett and get out.
Bradley adjusted his backward Phillies cap and squared his shoulders before he knocked on the door. And to his surprise, Everett threw the door wide open a second later, looking thoroughly upset.
"Coach!" And then Everett had his arms wrapped around Bradley's waist, and he was immediately hit with the smell of marijuana. Bradley wrapped a protective arm around Everett and rubbed his back. "Can you take me home?"
"Yeah," Bradley grunted, pushing the door open all the way and looking inside. "Where's your dad, Kiddo?" he managed to ask in a very calm voice, when really he just wanted to rip the door off the hinges.
"In his room with Tori. I tried to knock, but they didn't hear me."
Bradley saw an ipad on the couch next to Everett's baseball backpack and some snack bags. "Okay. Yeah. Go grab your stuff and I'll take you home." His blood was boiling as he watched Everett swipe everything off the couch and into the bag and come running back over. Bradley took his small hand and closed the door quietly.
Then he led Everett out to the Bronco without a word between them. Bradley knew as soon as he spoke, he was going to blow up. So he helped Everett get into the Bronco and get buckled in. And then he rolled the window down a few inches as he whispered calmly, "You stay here for just a minute, okay?" Everett nodded at him, eyes wide. This child wasn't stupid, he knew something was going on, and Bradley didn't want to upset him further.
"Okay," Everett whispered. Bradley kissed the top of his head and locked him inside the Bronco. He would make this quick.
Bradley's breaths were coming short and shallow as he could feel the rage flowing through his body. Either you didn't know Danny was smoking with Everett there, or for some reason you didn't mention it. Maybe you suspected something, or maybe Everett had called you on his own. Regardless, you were away and drunk, and you had trusted Bradley to take care of this situation for you. He honestly loved that you asked him for help; he would do anything for Everett.
But there was no way he could leave without taking care of the rest of this for you whether you asked him to or not. He glanced back at Everett sitting in the car, and then he made a fist and pounded on the door until Danny started calling out, "Hang on!"
Bradley kept his hand in that tight fist as the door opened to reveal Danny who was very clearly stoned and standing next to a young woman in a tee shirt and underwear. "What the fuck do you want?" Danny asked, looking at Bradley closely for a few seconds. "Wait. Are you that tee ball coach?"
"Where's your son?" Bradley asked, clenching his right hand tighter, practically shaking with the urge to level your ex husband. "Where's Everett?" Bradley asked, trying so hard to keep his voice calm, but he could see Danny flinch.
"Huh?" he asked, turning around and looking at the living room and kitchen.
"Come on, Danny. Where is he? Are you so stoned you can't figure it out?" Bradley asked, his volume rising with each word. He watched the woman reach out for Danny who was looking very confused now.
"He's here somewhere," Danny muttered, clearly more interested in sex and weed than his own kid. Bradley stepped inside the house and shoved him.
"He's not here, asshole. He's in my fucking car!"
"Get the fuck out of my house," Danny said, staggering backwards as Bradley shoved him again.
"I took your kid from your house without any issue, which you'd know if you were fucking paying attention to him instead of using drugs! In front of a six year old!" Bradley had him by the shirt collar now.
"Do you want me to have you arrested for kidnapping?" Danny sputtered, and Bradley laughed right in his face.
"You want to call the police? Go ahead. Please do. I have permission from his mom to pick him up here. Do you have permission from his mom to smoke pot around him? You're house fucking reeks."
The woman took a step away and said, "I'll call the police."
"No! Tori, do not call the police!" Danny yelled at her as Bradley shook him until Danny met his eyes.
"Let her call," he said, much calmer now. "I'm sure they'd love to know all about this." He shoved Danny back against the wall and let go of his shirt.
"Get the fuck out of my house," Danny said more forecefully, but his eyes were still glassy and unfocused.
"No," Bradley replied, glancing back out to make sure Everett was okay. "I'm not done yet, you piece of shit."
"Well then finish up and leave," Danny managed through clenched teeth, and Bradley thought he'd never seen someone so cowardly in his life.
Bradley jabbed his index finger into Danny's chest until he knew it would bruise. "You don't deserve that kid, and you never did. And you better give his mom whatever she asks for, because she has been picking up your slack for years, you worthless motherfucker."
With one more glance around the house, Bradley stormed out and headed down the sidewalk back to Everett. He heard the front door slam behind him, and he had to roll his shoulders and count slowly to ten to get control of himself. He swallowed hard before he unlocked the driver's door and let himself inside the stuffy Bronco. He turned around and smiled at Everett who still looked confused and scared.
"You hungry, Kiddo? It's almost dinner time." Everett nodded silently. "How about a Happy Meal?"
"Okay. Chicken nuggets, please," he said, and Bradley was relieved he was talking again.
"You truly are a kid after my own heart," Bradley told him as he started the engine. He quickly texted both you and Molly and let you know he had Everett and that he'd take him to your house after stopping at McDonald's.
"Hey, Coach?" Everett asked softly as Bradley pulled away from the curb.
"Yeah, Kiddo?"
After a beat of silence he said, "Will you tell my mom I don't want to go back to my dad's house anymore?"
Bradley could feel tears burning the backs of his eyes. Danny had the opportunity to be a dad, but he didn't want it. But as far as Carole had ever told Bradley, Nick had been so happy to be a father, it made it that much harder for them to lose him when Bradley was young. Some things were so unfair, Bradley couldn't properly put them into words. But you had to know by this point that you couldn't force Danny to do something he didn't want to do. He just didn't want to love Everett. The most lovable kid.
"Yeah," Bradley said, his voice sounding raspy to his own ears. "I'll talk to your mom later, okay? Let's go get some chicken nuggets."
--------------------------
Molly made you walk around the vineyard for a full hour before she would let either of you near your car. And then she insisted on being the one to drive back to the city.
Bradley had texted you to let you know that he had Everett with him, and that they would be waiting at your house. But now you were sitting in a silent car with Molly while she gripped the steering wheel. There was so much traffic, it would probably be an extra hour before you got home.
Eventually, as you wiped more tears from your eyes, Molly asked, "Do you think he was smoking weed around Ev?"
"I don't know," you whispered. "I'm too afraid to ask Bradley what happened. I think I just need to hear everything all at once instead of texting him for bits of information."
"Makes sense," she replied. "But I swear, I'll happily kill Danny with my bare hands. You just say the word, okay?"
You nodded silently, and looked at your phone for the hundredth time. Bradley had texted you a picture of him and Everett eating Happy Meals at your kitchen island an hour ago.
Bradley Bradshaw: We are bummed we got duplicate toys. But we are just fine. See you when you get here.
They seemed happy enough in the photo, so you kept looking at it while Molly tried to navigate through all the traffic. "Come on," she groaned, honking at someone who tried to cut her off. "What the fuck."
When she finally pulled into your driveway next to the Bronco, it was getting pretty dark, and you were out of the car before she had even parked. You ran up to the front door and jammed your key in the lock, shouldering the door open.
But what you saw had you frozen in place, like the wind had been knocked out of you. You could hear Molly coming up the porch steps, so you signalled for her to be quiet. Then you stepped fully into your living room which Everett and Bradley had turned into a gigantic pillow and blanket fort.
The TV was on, softly playing the end credits of Toy Story, and you had to cover your mouth with your hand to keep from laughing or crying. Because the two of them were sound asleep amongst the pillows on the floor underneath one of your fleece blankets that was stretched from the couch and over the coffee table like a tent. Bradley was laying on his back with Everett curled up against his right side, and you thought you were going to melt into a puddle.
"Oh my god," Molly whispered, closing your front door softly and coming to stand next to you. "You need to marry him."
You had to stifle your laugh as tears filled your eyes. Bradley had taken care of everything. Sure, it was going to take you an hour to clean up this elaborate fort, but you didn't care at all. As you set your bag down and took your shoes off, Molly peeked out the front window.
"Bob is going to pick me up so you can have a conversation with Bradley," she whispered. "Will you call me later tonight? Any time is fine."
You nodded and wrapped your arms around her, holding her tight as a few more tears fell. "Thank you for driving and for everything, Molly. I love you."
She kissed your cheek as you heard Bob's truck pull up outside. "Call me."
And then she was gone, and you were crawling inside the blanket tent and curling up against Bradley's left side. When you pressed your lips to his cheek, he started to stir.
"Kitten," he whispered in his sleepy voice, pulling you closer as Everett continued to doze. He squeezed your hip with his big hand and kissed you softly. "You okay?"
You nodded and rested your head on his shoulder. "I'm okay now."
--------------------------
When Everett woke up to find that you were home as well, laying on Bradley's other side with your fingers stroking his mustache and scruffy cheeks, he scrambled over Bradley and into your arms.
"Mommy!"
Bradley crawled out from under the blanket fort and stretched while you held Everett and kissed him. He turned off the TV and started to clean up the wrappers from the Happy Meals as well as some of the pillows. This way he could give you some time to talk quietly with Ev. But because he wasn't sure if he should stay or leave, he lingered a bit since it was close to Everett's bedtime now.
When you and Everett finally crawled out from under the tent, Bradley's arms were full of both of you. "Thank you." Your words weren't necessary, and you'd already thanked him so many times, but Bradley thought perhaps you needed to say them again. And now he was dreading telling you what happened at Danny's
"Will you carry me up to bed?" Everett asked, looking up at Bradley. He finally seemed like the relaxed, happy child he usually did.
"Of course," Bradley replied, scooping him up and carrying him upstairs. In no time, he was snuggled up in bed holding the plush Phanatic in both arms. And Bradley's heart was aching.
"Baby, we need to talk," he told you as you led him out of Everett's bedroom.
You nodded with a look of agony on your face. "I know." You walked ahead of Bradley and went to your bed, holding the covers up for him to crawl in with you. You swallowed hard as he wrapped his arm around you so that you and he were laying face to face. "I know you won't always be able to help out like you did today."
Bradley's brow scrunched up, and he pursed his lips. "What do you mean? Of course I will."
You sighed and looked at him. "I just mean, even if we're together, you could be deployed or something."
"Kitten, I'm not going anywhere. And if I'm deployed, baby, you still have Molly and Bob. Hell, you could have called Nat for help today, too. She would have probably beat the living shit out of Danny, but she would have brought Everett home safe and sound."
You closed your eyes and pressed your face into his chest as you asked, "What happened when you got to his house?"
Bradley sighed and rubbed your back, trying to decide just how much detail to give you. The last thing he wanted was for you to feel any worse than you already clearly did.
"Just tell me, Bradley," you gasped, gripping his shirt. But when he still hesitated, you said, "Just tell me everything."
"I knocked on the door, and Everett answered," he said softly, still rubbing small circles along your back through your shirt. "Danny was nowhere in sight, and I took Everett right outside and got him buckled into his booster seat."
You pulled away from him and stared off into space. "You...took him right out? And Danny had no idea? Why wasn't he with Everett?!"
Bradley shook his head and kissed your forehead five times before he said, "Danny was high, Kitten. He had been smoking, and the whole house smelled."
You started sobbing against his chest. "That's what I was afraid of after Everett called and told me it smelled weird. But I was trying to hope that I was wrong about it." You were quiet for a minute. "Was there a woman there?"
"Yeah," Bradley whispered. "She was high, too. After I got Ev safely locked up in the Bronco, I went back up and pounded on the door until they answered. I thought for a second that I was going to lose it and knock him the fuck out. Honestly, the only reason I didn't was because Everett was ready to leave."
You were crying in earnest now as you pushed Bradley fully onto his back. When you sat up on your knees and swiped at your tears, you said, "I don't even know why I'm crying. I am not sad, I'm furious! And now I have to go over there and talk to Danny about this!"
Bradley watched as every emotion flitted across your face, and then he sat up to give you a kiss. "Everett doesn't want to go back to Danny's house anymore. He begged me to tell you that."
You nodded and cradled your forehead in your hands. "Okay. Now I am sad."
He let you have a few minutes to process everything before saying, "If you want me to stay tonight, I'll stay. But if you want me to go so you can have some space, just say the word, and I'll lock up when I go."
"I need to call Molly. And I think I need to be alone," you whispered. But before Bradley went back to his apartment, he held you until you promised him you were feeling better.
----------------------------------
When Bradley only received a few texts from you on Monday, he was beginning to feel apprehensive. But when Molly pulled into the parking lot with Everett for tee ball practice, Bradley knew something was wrong. Because he expected that you would have told him you'd be missing practice.
"Everything okay?" he asked Molly as Everett ran over to him.
She just shrugged and handed the gear bag to Bradley when he reached for it. "I'm not sure."
He gave her an appraising look. "Where is she?" But he didn't need to ask, because he already knew. And now he was getting pissed that you hadn't told him before going over there.
"Danny's," she whispered, and Bradley started texting you right away. He would have preferred to go with you. "I told her I would take Everett home for a sleepover if she needed me to."
And then Bradley understood that you weren't expecting a positive outcome from your encounter with your ex. Fuck. He had an hour long tee ball practice to get through before he could even get over to your house to see if you needed anything.
His patience was already short when he knelt to help Everett with his cleats before sending him out to Bob. And that's when Sandra opened her mouth. "I can't help but notice that she's not here. I think it's her turn to bring snacks."
Bradley met her eyes and watched her cheeks turn scarlet as she snapped her mouth shut. He could only imagine what he must look like right now.
"I have the snacks and juice boxes in my car, so really there's no need to comment on anything," Molly said sweetly. "But if you do feel the need to comment further, my car is that blue Honda, and I'd be happy to meet you there after practice is over. Just keep in mind that I'm in a raging bad mood today, and I'm nowhere as nice as my sister."
"Having been on the receiving end of your rage, I can vouch for that," Bradley muttered to Molly, making her chuckle. "Hey, after practice I'm just going to head right to her house."
Molly nodded. "That's probably a good idea. I'll distract Everett this evening, but she's going to need someone to vent to, I think."
As soon as practice was over, Bradley contemplated picking up dinner, but he decided getting to you was more important. And when he let himself inside your house, he was so damn thankful he hadn't stopped anywhere on his way.
----------------------------
You hadn't even knocked on Danny's door yet, but you just knew you were about to feel his wrath. Instead of contacting him first, you simply left work and headed to Mission Beach, hoping to blindside him.
When Danny opened his front door, he just shook his head at you. "I don't have time for this right now."
"Yes, you do," you replied, feeling your anger fill you up.
"I'm in the middle of something," he replied, starting to shut the door. But you wedged your body in before he could close it completely. "So you're just going to barge in then? Like your boyfriend?"
"I guess so," you growled, slamming the door closed once you were inside.
"What do you want?" he asked blandly.
Rage. That was the only thing you could feel now. "I want you to tell me what your problem is! Smoking pot while you're supposed to be watching Everett? Really?"
He got right in your face, and you staggered back against the front door. "You are the one with the fucking problem, okay? I told you I didn't want him here yesterday, but you insisted."
You pushed yourself away from the door so your chest was bumping his. He was bigger than you, but you weren't going to back down. "I gave you two options, Danny. So I guess you'll be taking the paying child support route then?"
When he clenched his fist at his side, you felt your tummy dip in fear. "We have been over this. I don't have the income for that right now."
"You have money for weed," you growled. "Why don't you give me that cash and call it a day?"
"You don't understand!" he yelled. "You never understood, and that's why we aren't married anymore."
You swallowed hard. "We're not married anymore because I left with Everett. Because we deserved better. And being on our own was a much better option than being with you. But he's still your kid! So I'm going to call my lawyer."
His eyes flashed. "You're getting a lawyer involved? I don't have money for that."
"Then what do you suggest I do, Danny?" you asked, your tone patronizing now. You knew it wasn't a good idea to goad him on, but you couldn't help yourself. "Get a time machine and convince my past self not to let you fuck me? That's what you expect me to do?"
"No!" he hollered. "I expect you to leave me the hell alone! You and Everett both! So whatever needs to be done to make that happen, that's what we are going to do!"
You were shaking now as his words sunk in. The bile started to rise up in your stomach, but you couldn't move. Your teeth started to chatter. "I can understand your anger with me," you whispered. "But you don't want him around at all?"
"No!"
And with that one final word, you felt your stomach clench painfully. "And you're going to refuse to pay child support?"
"Yes! I don't want to have to deal with any of this!"
You sucked in a few breaths before you could speak again. "You want to sign away custody? Never spend time with your kid again?" You had to wipe your eyes to be able to see clearly.
"Yes! Use your fucking lawyer to make that happen, okay?" he barked at you, face red with anger. "I don't want you around, and I don't want him. Now, how about you get out of my house?"
Your breath was coming in short gasps and you thought you might faint. But when you didn't move fast enough for his liking, Danny physically turned you and opened the door before trying to push you outside with his hand on the back of your neck.
"I'm not going to give you another chance with Everett after this," you said, tears dripping from your eyes as you spun around to face him. But your necklace chain was caught in his fingers, and he snapped it as he pushed you again. You caught the chain and the charm in your hand before they could drop, and you looked up at him.
"Get out," he barked. "And don't come back until you have something for me to sign."
You squeezed your paw print charm in your hand as you ran out to your car, nearly tripping in your high heels, and started the engine. The interior echoed with your broken sobs as you made the first turn toward your house.
Danny didn't want Everett. As hard as you tried to process things, the words just stayed at surface level, because they didn't make sense. You couldn't accept them as the truth. That was Everett's dad, and dads were supposed to want their kids around. Dads were supposed to love their children. You and Molly had been raised by older parents who loved you both, and you didn't get enough time with either of them.
But that wasn't the case with Danny at all. Danny didn't want Everett. He just couldn't be bothered. He really was that selfish.
What was wrong with you that you kept trying for so long? Did you really think he was going to change his mind? You left him for a reason. But you always thought that you were the problem, because how could anyone not want Everett?
When you looked up, you were parked in your driveway. You didn't remember driving home. You walked inside to your empty house and took off your work shoes, still clutching your necklace as you walked upstairs to your bathroom.
Danny didn't want Everett.
You threw up in the toilet and then sat down hard on the floor. You must have done something wrong, because that was the only explanation for this. You pushed too hard, or you didn't push hard enough. Danny had wanted you to get an abortion, but you thought you were in love. You dreamed of having the perfect family, and you thought he would eventually change his mind. But he didn't. He never did. Danny didn't want Everett.
You curled up on the bathroom floor and gripped the tub mat to your chest, still clutching your necklace, and you let yourself cry. It was all your fault. Everything was your fault. And now you were going to have to call your lawyer and explain out loud to another person that your ex husband didn't want your son. Danny didn't want Everett. As if there was some reason that your son didn't deserve to be loved. As if your six year old child had done something egregious or unforgivable. But all he had ever done was make you happy and give you purpose. How could someone not want him around?
"Oh god," you gasped as your tears rolled down your cheeks and onto the floor. At least Molly would take care of Everett for the night, because you wouldn't be able to look him in the eye right now. It would be a while before you could process all of this. "Why?" you sobbed, unable to catch your breath. You rolled onto your back and draped your arm over your eyes, but the pain in your chest just grew worse and worse, and you started gagging on your tears.
You couldn't catch your breath, and you couldn't hear anything past the wretched sobs filling the small room. Until you saw movement out of the corner of your watery eyes.
"Oh, Kitten. I'm here." And then you felt him lay down next to you and collect you into his arms as you sobbed harder.
---------------------------
Yes, Coach! Stepping up and taking care of things, but putting Ev first! I feel terrible for Kitten. She really can't understand Danny. Thanks to @beyondthesefourwalls and @mak-32!

Overprotective
-9th member
Warnings: Angst, fighting.
Pairing: strays kids 9th member
Summary: being an idol is hard but it’s even harder when you want to be a normal teen but you can’t.
Enjoy!🩷
**
"But Chris!" I say yelling from the other side of the room.
We had been arguing for almost 10 minutes now and he wasn’t budging at all.
"I know you wanna go for the concert but we have a flight the next day, it won't be okay and I'm not risking you going out alone with non of the boys with you." He says crossing his hands and glaring at me.
"But Chris! I'll be with the girls-"
"The girls that im not in charge of! The girls that drink like maniacs and do stupid shit. You'll end up in a ditch!" He shouts at me.
He was currently sat on the dining table and his laptop was out meaning he was doing work.
I thought it would be a good idea to ask him about going for a concert tonight with the girls that I used to train with. They had invited me out and since I had been behaving I thought Chan would allow me too.
"Please Chan this is the only time I get to be a normal teen. I'll be back early and I won't touch or do anything illegal I promise." I complain in my whining voice.
"Nope." He simply says and I get even more angry.
"Chris you don't even let me go out! Why are you being like this!" I grab the pillow and throw it at him but he dodges it and glares at me.
"You know why I am! Im not arguing about this anymore. Go to your room and make sure all your stuff is packed. This conversation is done.”
"Ugh! I wish I never became a K-pop idol! I hate you!" I scream. I knew I was being dramatic but I had to atleast get my lick back. I refused to let him win this argument.
"If I knew you were gonna act like this I wouldn't pick you in the first place! You’re such a brat!" His voice louder than before.
"Woah woah woah what's going on In here?" Leeknow says walking into the room. Obviously coming out from the shower.
"Get your daughter before I yell at her even more." He tells him. standing up to pace the room.
"Y/nie what happened baby girl?" Leeknow asks wrapping his arms around me.
I knew if I told leeknow about the concert he would have been more stern than Chan. He would have mean more stricter.
“Hey why are you crying? Talk to me.” He softly says wiping off the tears that run down my cheeks.
“It’s nothing, Chan’s just being a jerk,” I spat and shrugged his arms off before walking up the stairs.
"What did you do Chan?" I hear him ask Chan.
Chan and leeknow always acted like the mum and dad of the group. In every situation.
I hear them whispering, Chan probably telling him about the concert and I hear leeknow gasping. Knowing trouble was coming my way I silently groan and walk in the dark corridors making my way to my room.
All the other guys were at practice or shopping cause we were going to leave in the morning so the house was quiet.
Being an idol was fun, I enjoyed it but that means I wasn't allowed to grow up in a normal space.
Being the youngest in the group of boys made it worse cause they were bugging on me and checking on me 24/7 and since my parents didn't leave in Korea they gave all guardian rights to Chan. Making me his "child".
A sigh escapes my mouth.
I sit on the carpet and fold my clothes while putting them in my pink suitcase.
We were going to New York for Lollapolza so I had to make sure I packed quite a lot. So I was busy, my thoughts were taunting me.
Chan's words didn't leave my head as I was busy packing up everything,
I was so upset that I didn't hear or see Leeknow walking in.
I wipe my tears and give him a smile, knowing he was going to scold me. I just knew it.
"Honey." He says with his scolding tone.
"Yes leeknow."
"You've disappointed me" he softly says.
"But Lee-"
"Chan is your elder, he watches over you like a father. He makes sure you eat sleep and rest and he helps you get to the goals you wanna reach right?"
"Yes but Leeknow-"
"No no no, you've hurt his feelings. I want you to apologize because I know me and him didn't raise you like this. We raised you to be respectful and to listen" he holds my hand and slowly rubs circles on them just to make sure I wasn’t upset but I was.
"What about my feelings leeknow you don't want to listen to me!" I blurt out frustrated.
He takes it by surprise cause I never dared raise my voice at him or yell at him.
"Excuse me?" He says raising an eyebrow. I quickly regret it and say a tiny “sorry” causing him to nod his head for me to continue
"Leeknow it's tiring watching all my friends having fun while I'm stuck on the side. When my friends are partying and having fun, I have dance practice from 6-12 in the night. I'm tired I just asked for one night out."
"But look baby girl, I know you want to be normal sometimes but you worked for this. You chose this life and the harsh truth is, Chan is looking out for you and our image. You can't be caught out drinking and smoking with boys." He says softly.
He obviously didn't get it but I was so exhausted from fighting I just nodded.
"Okay now wash your face, the boys are almost home and we'll have dinner. I hope your done packing." He says while getting up from the ground.
I just say a little hum and zip up my bag.
I take a shower and wear what looked like Jeogin's hoodie and some sweatpants and make my way down stairs.
All the guys were sitting on the table and the tension in the room was high.
"Hey munchkin," Han says kissing my forehead.
I tell him a little hello and he frowns at my dull face.
He obviously knew why I was upset but he didn't know it affected me this much.
Leeknow brings out the food and we all start to eat when I get a text on my phone causing me to look at it.
Maknae's On 🔝 :
Felix: we hard about the fight you had with Chan 😬
I.N: yeah sorry about it pookie.
Y/n: Guys we're on the table Chan is going to tell us off! Stop texting.
*cough cough* I look up to see Chan glaring at me obviously wanting to get my attention.
"No phones on the table Y/n you know this." Chan says while putting his fork down
"I was telling them to stop-"
"Just put it away and stop arguing." He cuts me off and grabs the bowl of potatoes.
"Are you serious right now Chan?" I ask in disbelief.
Why was he only picking on? Was he that angry at me? If he was going to be mad he should just say so instead of picking on me.
"Y/n let it go." Changbin says getting in the middle of the fight.
"But I was just-"
"What did we talk about?" Leeknow asks.
I scoff and put my phone down.
Saying things under my breathe because I was so mad.
The evening consisted of all the boys talking about the flight and discussed dance moves or general performance things.
I sit there quiet thinking about how I would be at a concert right now having a blast but I was home being given the Cold shoulder.
I grab my plate and put it in the sink leaving everyone in the dining room and making my way to my room.
I turn off all the lights and sit in the darkness scrolling through my phone trying to calm down.
It was long before I heard a knock on the door.
It was my oldest ‘brother’.
"Can I come in?" He softly says but I turn my back on him and look the other direction. Still very angry at him.
"Fair enough, I still am coming in." He sighs and sits by my bed.
The room is quiet.
"I'm sorry Y/nie" he says while brushing my hair.
His touch is soft and delicate almost like he didn’t want to break me or hurt me.
When he realized I wasn’t going to talk he just continued talking:
"Your the only girl in the group AND your the youngest. I worry okay? I worry because as men in this industry we see a lot but the women have seen worse. Your still a baby Y/nie. I wouldn't forgive myself if anything happened to you. I basically raised you. I want the best for you always. I know what I said has hurt you, it wasn't my intention but you hurt me, and being your older brother I was disappointed. Channie loves you so much and Im happy your on my team okay?" He finalizes and I feel a drop on my shoulder.
I look at him and watch he had tear stained eyes. My heart breaks and the guilt starts to fill my stomach.
"Oppa don't cry because of me. I'm sorry." I get up and wipe his tears. Hugging him tight.
"I was just angry, I don't hate you I promise. I just need to understand things Channie..." I trail off and look at my hands.
“And that’s okay, you’re still young and I’m going to do whatever it takes to protect you.” He softy says and pulls me into his arms one last time.
“Also I’m sorry for yelling at you during dinner, I put the boys out in time out.”
“You did?”
“Yeah no gaming for the next hour.” He says proudly.
“Ohh that’s a nice one.” I give him a high five while we laugh.

You are... what?
Enhypen hyung line x Fem!Reader
Summary: How would Enhypen's hyung line react to you telling them you are pregnant.
Word count: 3.6k
Heeseung (0.82k), Jay (0.99k), Jake (0.96k), Sunghoon (0.83k).
Warnings: pregnancy, unplanned pregnancy, mentions of vomiting, mentions of unwanted pregnancy, mentions of implied abortions, use of nickanmes as baby, love, etc; they're scared.
A/N: This is a year and a half year old imagine so you may have an idea of how off this is on the members.
Tumblr media
❁ Heeseung
Heeseung had been away for a month now, coming home today, and you should be absolutely thrilled, as you always were when he come home from touring.
But you couldn't feel thrilled.
You felt rather nervous and slightly panicked.
The nerves were eating you from the inside out, and you felt like vomiting the three toasts you had in your system, but Heeseung was supposed to walk in the apartment by any moment now and it was probably the worst way of telling him the news.
How were you even going to tell him?
Hey, you are going to be a dad?
Hell no, he would faint, and you were ninety percent sure about it.
You should be simple and straight forward, tell him in the face.
That way it’s probably easier to process, no confusion, no problems, just... news.
Yeah. That'd be it, that's how it should be done. Not good or bad news, just news.
"Love I'm back!" You hear right before the sound of the door closing, and the thud of his bag hitting the floor.
You walk out of your shared room, walking towards him and hugging him, giggling as he twirls you around before leaving a sweet kiss on your lips.
"How was it? How are you?"
"I'm tired but great, missed being home. And the tour was amazing." He says, placing his hands on your hips as he takes a moment to look at you.
"And how you've been?" He asks back, smiling widely as he stares at you.
"Been good..." You start, trailing off to think if the moment to tell him is now, or maybe he needs to rest.
"But?" He asks a tiny bit confused but amused at your expressions, as cute as ever but a bit more zoned out than usual, noticing the way your eyes nervously moved around his features.
"Uh I- I got to tell you something." You say quickly, the courage pushing to the no return point, Heeseung just humming as he looks at you intently. "I'm pregnant."
That's it, you've done it, it’s done. And Heeseung is as confused as you thought he would, face blank, eyes wide as Bambi’s.
"Say again?" He reiterates, brows furrowing a bit as if he heard wrong.
"I'm pregnant."
"Oh..." He simply states, looking around, he wasn't going to ask how, he knew how, and he inferred when. "How long have you known?"
"A couple of weeks maybe? Didn't wanted to tell you over the phone." You say quickly, rather surprised by his silence and calm reaction. "Are you okay Hee?"
"Most definitely, yeah, in shock, but okay i guess'." He nods, hands grabbing yours to check if it was real, pulling it genlty towards his face, resting his cheek in your warm palm. "We're going to be parents, I'm going to be a dad." He says, the idea slowly dawning on him."
"Yes."
"And you are going to be a mom." He says, eyes falling back on yours.
"Yeah, that's pretty much how it works." You nod, worrying yourself. "Are you... upset?"
"What? No, no, I'm... scared, in shock, excited?" He says, unsure himself of what he’s feeling. "You're keeping it?"
"You don't want me to?"
"No! No, I mean, yes, I want you to keep, but you know, your body your choice and all that." He says, blushing by his statement. Oh, it had downed on him now. "Oh my god you’re pregnant." He reiterates, excitement soon filling his face, the shock still the most evident emotion in him, making you chuckle as he hugged you tightly. "Oh my god."
"Yes Hee, we're having a baby." You say, laughing as he twirls you again now, kissing your face repeatedly. "Didn't expected you to be this excited."
"What you mean?" He asks happily, putting you back down. "I'm abso-fucking-lutely scared of the idea, yeah, but happy." He nods, worrying as you seem less colored now. "You good hun?" He asks, right hand caressing your cheek.
"Yeah just..." You say, before feeling that familiar instinct of vomiting, sprinting to the kitchen as its nearer than the bathroom.
"Oh god yeah, and I twirled you, oh my god I'm sorry love."
"It's okay." You way once you finish, cleaning your mouth with a paper towel. "I kind of got used to it."
"You've faced all that puking all alone?" He asks, now a bit sad that you got through a month and a bit more of pregnancy by yourself.
"It's alright." You reassure him. "Can you serve some orange juice for me?" You ask, hating the taste of vomit in your mouth.
"Sure, anything for my love." He smiles, almost placing a kiss on your lips before he remembered and kissed your forehead before going to the fridge.
Heeseung's reaction was by far off of your expectations, but you smiled to yourself at the sigh if him, happier than you thought he would be.
❁ Jay
"Y/N! I'm home!" Jay said, walking into your apartment with a bag full of ice cream and snacks for your weekly movie night, met up by a silent apartment. "Y/N?" He called, leaving the bag on the counter to go and search for you, maybe you were asleep?
He looked on the living room, the kitchen, the laundry room and then got to your room, finding it empty. "Maybe she went out..." He said in a whisper to himself, before hearing a silent sob from the bathroom, waking out to the hallway and then to that door, seeing a glimpse of light shining under it. The shadow of your body sat on the floor worrying him.
"Y/N? Are you okay? Did you got hurt? Do you want me to come in?" He asks as he knocks the door, worried, his breathing getting uneven as his mind wondered bad scenarios.
"N-no, no, I'm fine." You say from the other side, a silent sniff making you regret even talking, he knows you're crying, how are you going to keep from him now.
Is not that you didn't want him to know, you knew he had all the right. But you were scared, you both are too young, he is an idol, and you are still studying, you can't be pregnant right now, you shouldn’t.
"Can I come in? You wanna talk with me about it?" Oh Jay, how sweet and caring he has always been, and how fucked he is now. You thought, scared.
"If you want to, you can." You voice is low, as if not wanting him to hear, as if you want him to forget he had even heard you.
"Coming in then." He says, door slowly opening, revealing you sat on the floor in front of the toilet, head resting against the tile that covers the walls. "Hey darling, what's wrong?" He asks, coming to kneel besides you, brushing your tears away with his thumb and making you cry again.
"I'm so sorry..." It's all you manage to say before sobbing again, hands coming to cover your face and tears falling down your cheeks again.
"Hey, hey, don't, please look at me, please." He says almost in a plead, gently snaking his hands around yours to softly pull them away from your face. "What's wrong? Why are you apologizing?"
"I'm pregnant Jay, I'm pregnant." You says, feeling even worse when you see him freeze in place, face blank as he processes your words, your own eyes clouding with tears once again. "I'm sorry."
"No, no baby, don't apologize, there's nothing to be sorry for, it's not wrong." He says, moving to cradle your face, kissing both of your cheeks where the tears stained.
"You are an idol, this is going to ruin your career, the boys I-, I don't want to ruin your life." You say, looking up at his face, confusion setting deep in you at the look in his face.
"You are not ruining my life, first, this is not something you can control now, second, we should rather think of making our lifes... better" He smiles weakly, brushing the hair out of your face to look at your beautiful eyes. "We are young, maybe its earlier than we thought, but i know we can do this, if you want to keep it, that is."
"I... I do want to keep it, I'm scared, but... i don't know" You say, grabbing a few squares of toilet paper to clean your stuffy nose.
"It's okay not to know, are you really sure you are pregnant?" He asks, grabbing you to move him to straddle him. Seeing your every move as you then stretch to grab two tests from the counter, showing the prominent two lines in each of them. "You're sure then." He says, grabbing them and placing them aside. "A penny for yout thoughts?" He asks, letting you rest your head against his chest, his chin resting above your head as his hands slowly caress your back.
"What if I'm not a good enough mom? I know nothing about motherhood." He hears your voice crack mid sentence, placing a rather long kiss on your head before talking.
"Do you think your mother knew how to be one? Or mine? I don't know how to be a dad, but I'm willing to learn as we go." His one hand stayed on your back, thumb drawing figurines on the fabric of your shirt as the other moved to caress your thigh.
"But is not fair for the baby..." You whisper slowly, shrinking a bit in your place in his lap.
"Hm... maybe, but, if we try our best and fill them with love, I think they will understand when they grow up." He mutter back, still rubbing your back soothingly as he talks. "Imagine it, you, me, a little you running around, giggling." He says against your hair. "Your eyes, your hair, and your smile." He starts, making you smile.
"What about you? They are not only going to look like me." You say against his chest, feeling him chuckle.
"But you are prettier." He mumbles, resting his head against the tile.
"I would love if they had your smile." You say, making him smile, seeing you finally come around to term with the idea of the baby.
"They are gonna be beautiful, I just know." He says in a happy tone, letting you two fall in a few minutes of silence as you both came to terms with the idea.
"Thank you for hearing me out." You mutter.
"Always, thank you for trusting me."
"You're my boyfriend, I couldn't push you away even if I had to, my heart wouldn't let me." You admit, separating yourself to look at him and smile. "I love you, I'm sorry I was being pessimistic."
"It's okay, you're scared, it's totally okay."
And maybe it was, after all, he was the rational one between the two of you.
❁ Jake
You'd known you are pregnant for the past month, thinking of ways to tell your boyfriend the news.
You've thought of everything, from gifting him a box of cupcakes that spelled "I'm pregnant" to just giving him the 5 pregnancy tests you took and keep hidden in the bottom of your drawer.
Resigning with a little gift bag that had an enhypen-merch-like newborn onesie.
"Jake?" You asked, head picking through the door from his little studio-like room in your shared apartment.
"Yes?" He asks, eyes still focused on his lyrics notebook, pencil fiddled between his fingers.
"Oh your busy, nevermind." You say in a whisperish tone, starting to close the door when Jake's head snap up to meet your gaze.
"No, no, come in." He says, putting the notebook aside and turning in his chair towards you.
"You sure?"
"Yeah, totally, what happened?" He asks, looking at your figure walk in, hands behind you back.
"I got you this, open it before i overthink more." You say, almost shoving the bag in his hands before nervously start picking at your fingers.
He takes a hot minute analyzing your words, opening the bag slowly and eyes blankly stopping once he extended the onesie, face unexpresive as he process it over and over again.
"Are you for real?" He asked, your gut slowly feeling as if its closer and closer to the floor, himself adorning an unreadable face not helping at all.
"I so so for real I'm about to puke." You confirmed, your hands playing with the rings in your fingers nervous, himself nodding before returning his gaze to the clothing piece.
"You're pregnant..." He mutters, slowly downing on the realization but you are so scared you actually feel like passing out. "Oh my god..."
"I know it's not at all in our plans, and I get that you are mad or sad and I-" you couldn't even speak properly, tears filling your eyes and your throat knotting itself.
"Oh my god, oh my god Y/N, you're pregnant." He said, standing from the chair straight into your arms and passing his around your torso, bringing you closer to his body as his face buried in your neck, he was so full of different emotions he didn't even knew how to react.
You couldn't answer him, silently crying, scared, anxious, all the possible emotions drowning you. Your hands slowly coming up and resting on his hair to caress it, excitement slowly buildng up.
"We are going to be parents." He mumbled, voice muffled by your shirt that you slowly felt dampening.
"Jake, are you crying?" You asked now worriedly as if you weren't too, taking him apart from you, hands cupping his face as you checked on him, trails of wet tears down his cute little cheeks and the brightest and cutest smile you'd seen in him painted along his face.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm just really stunned Y/N, we are having a kid, I- I am really really happy right now, a so fucking scared too." He said, leaning against your loving touch, kissing your palm as his hands rubbed your sides up and down. "No, don't cry you too, you know I hate see you crying." He says noticing the tears falling down your cheeks too, voice slowly turning bubbly as he leans to leave multiple kisses all over your face until you laugh your tears out, his right hand moving up to craddle your cheek and clean the trail of the tears.
"You scared me so much." You admit between giggles, a few sobs escaping in between.
"I'm so sorry for scaring you, I- I don't know how to feel just... thank you so much for being in my live, Y/N. I mean it." He says, his forehead resting against yours as his thumb still caresses your cheek. "I'm so, so grateful right now." The smile in his voice was easily picked up by your ears, putting a smile as bright as his in your face.
"I love you Jake." You say, your hand in his face pinching his cheek with a bit of tease.
"I love you too" He says, eyes wandering down to your belly for a few seconds. "We'll really have a mini us." He mutters, looking you straight in the eyes, his hand on you waist playing with the hem of your shirt.
"We will, yeah." You slowly smile at his rising excitement. "A mini you, or a mini me."
He smiles, his hand slipping under your shirt to caress the skin of your waist. "I can't believe it, god."
"Well, you better start believing it soon Jake, 'cause it really real." You say, his bright puppy eyes never leaving you, the few confetti you gathered scattered throught the floor and the onesie somewhere forgotten.
"So this is why you were throwing up the other morning when I sleft a bit later." He startes, bringing a cringing sound from you, the morning sickness you've felt for the last month since you found out and were figuring out how to tell him still haunting you, specially because you weren't out of it yet.
After that you better trust me when I say you and Jake spent at least half an hour just cuddling and kissing in the couch, not even talking, just enjoying each other company and taking it all in together, his hand leaving sweet and loving rubs on your belly from time to time.
Now there were three of you, Jake feeling slowly happier as his mind kept on making out all the posibilities, feeling excited to say at most.
And yes, later that night he spent all the damn night talking about your future as a family.
❁ Sunghoon
You two already owned a cat. He gifted it to you before going on tour so you wouldn't feel alone at night without him at the apartment.
Now, with your white cat all grown up you had found out while he was at work that you were pregnant, your period had been late, but it was usual, and as you started to have this sickness in the mornings after sunghoon went to work, you decided to do a pregnancy test, just to be sure.
Much to your surprise, you were not just late this time, you were pregnant, for real.
You decided to just put the pregnancy test in a ziploc bag and bury it in a bunch of confetti you bought at the convenience store near your building, waiting for him to finish his daily schedule qand just come back home.
As you sat in the soft cushions of your couch, you mind started pacing.
Were you ready to be amother?
What if Sunghoon isn't ready to be a father?
What if he doesn't want to be part of it?
No, that's dumb, he loves you.
But he's so early in his career, it will do more damage than good.
But he would be really cute as a dad, just a month ago he was high on baby fever after babysutting your cousin with you.
Nevertheless, your train of though was interrupted the moment he closed the door behind him , the sound snapping you out of it. He turned around and his brows almost immediately furrowed at the sight of you sat in the couch, nervousness, doubt and a tiny bit of excitement flowing out of you.
"Hi love." He says, walking with suspicion to you, sitting at your side after you patted it. "What's going on?"
"Here, I got this for you." And with that, he took it from your hands with maybe a bit too much precaution, opening it up as if it could explode in any moment, just to be more confused at the ridiculous amount of white confetti it had in it.
The moment his eyes saw the pregnancy test they were wide, wider than you have ever seen; silently, he stared at it, in case he understood wrong and it said covid somewhere, but it didn't. "Is this real? You aren't joking?" He asks, voice shaky and glassy eyes looking up to you, rather than tears there was no sign of any other emotion on his face, making you over think, your heart twisting in its place at the look of him.
"I would never joke with that, love." You mutter, fiddling with your fingers that rested on your lap. "I know we're really young, and you have so much in your life right now for me to put it out for you now, but I didn't knew how to tell you and I totally get if you are disapointed or mad, I would be too, but I really want to keep it and..." You were rambling, nerves tajing over your mouth and eyes dropping to stare at the floor.
You were gladly interrupted just to be engulfed in the most bone crushing hug ever, his hands slowly lowering themselves to grab you by your hips bring you over to his lap; quite a bunch of little "oh my god"s leaving from his mouth as you two hugged, each getting more breathier as he realized, his head buried in the crook of your neck, his unsteady breath tickling your skin.
"You're pregnant." He said finally letting you go, eyes a bit red as a few tears fell from his eyes, hands still placed on your hips as his thumbs rub up and down.
"Yes, I am" You nodded, unable to stop a little sob from escaping your lips, Sunghoon's face morphing into a worried expression. "You aren't mad?" You asked in a mutter, ashamed.
"Not at all." He denied, leaving a sweet kiss on your nose before placing his forehead against yours. "I'm rather excited, thank you." He says, smiling into your lips, giving you a couple centimeters of space. "Did you really think I wouldn't want to keep it though?" He asks still, a bit hurt.
"What?" You asked, looking in his deep eyes.
"You said so in your rambling, did you really thought so?" He said, eyes watery, again.
"I was being dumb, I'm sorry, I got scared when I found out." You said with so much regret he nods, blinking the unshed tears away.
"No, its okay, I get it." You hear him say, his eyes closing as he exhales. "I'm going to be there for you, we're in this together." He reassures you. A soft giggle escaping you as hi presses a ticklish kiss on your jaw.
"Thank you. I really needed to hear that." You whispered, kissing his forehead back. "I'm scared."
"And I'm really scared too, but we can with this, I know we can."

I got a promt idea. Saffron showing photos of when Jaune was cross dressing as a kid like wearing dresses (Either willing or forced by sisters) to who ever you want. Probably best to have at least 4 people react but I'm not the writer.
Yeah Four is about as many as I'm willing to do upon request
~~~~~
Saphron: And this is my Twelfth birthday! We managed to get that dress over his head without him waking up!
Penny: He is very adorable! I want to hug him very tightly!
Yang: Heh, Ruby wouldn't wear a dress like that unless she would die without it.
Penny: He seems to be more comfortable in feminine clothing nowadays.
Saphron: Yeah, there was an abundance of 'Girly' clothes at the house, and sometimes we couldn't get him 'appropriate' attire. He did get made fun of a few times, but me and the rest of our sisters took care of it.
Ruby: What'd your dad think about it.
Saphron: He didn't ... Necessarily like when we did it, but he also made sure to tell Jaune that he was his son no matter what he wore, Which is why Jaune's as comfortable as he is in other clothing.
Saphron: Honestly Dad was more upset about the footie pajamas than the dresses.
Weiss: *Licking her lips* Do you think we could get him to wear a dress now?
Penny: He did wear a dress to the Beacon Academy Dance. Him and the rest of JNPR quote "Tore up the Dance Floor"
Saphron: Really? Is there any photos?
Ruby: No ...
Yang: *Pulling out her scroll* But there is Video!
Weiss: Oh sweet Mana from heaven~
Penny: ...
Ruby: ...
Yang: ...
Saphron: Please refrain from thirsting over my brother when I'm Right here.
run away
A/N: As majority votes, we're writing about my baby boy ghosty poo!<3
Anyway, this is an AU where Simon and you are friends that don't know the benefits just yet. This probably isn't proofread, so I apologize in advance.
Warnings: Simon's just a bit handsy.
p.s.: I apologize sincerely, I meant to finish this last night, but I fell asleep with the damn app open sigh. I hope you LIKE IT!
Simon has always been closed off.
He never spoke during school and he definitely wasn't even remotely approachable. However, when you met him, you couldn't help but feel so strongly for him. You wanted to know him as if he were an extension of yourself. He was a mystery, and you loved riddles.
That's how you became his favorite nuisance. You'd randomly strike conversation with him, asking him pointless questions just to see how he'd respond. He'd hardly respond, only to tell you to shut up before you ask him another question.
A year passes, and by that time he had softened to you. He was fond of you, regardless of how he felt when you first spoke to him. Eventually, you knew all there was to know about him. At least, that's what you thought until he finally told you his living situation.
Hearing what his father and brother have inflicted on him his entire life, it made you physically ill. He told you that there was no use in being upset, that it was his life and not to stress your little head about it. However, you couldn't just let that go.
For months, you'd schemed, plotted, and planned for a way to get him out of that shitty place. Finally you came to a conclusion.
You would run away with him.
--
'Tap! Tap! Tap!'
Simon sat up on his mattress, his head spinning and blood pulsing in his ears. He was still fully clothed, not bothering to change since he was in such a pissy mood. Something was tapping on his window, and frankly, he didn't have the patience to listen to it all damn night.
With an angry grumble, he rips his curtains open, prepared to release his pent up rage on whatever it was. However, that irritation fades into nothing as his dark eyes fall onto your face outside his window.
"Trouble?" He mumbles, taking your hand and gently helping you into his tiny room. He was beyond perplexed-- you knew better than to just show up at his house. Simon glances over his shoulder wearily at his locked door, not wanting his dad to come back. He never wanted his father or brother to see you. He knew the disgusting things they'd do just to hurt him.
You smile brightly at him, but that falls the moment your eyes land on the darkened bruise just beneath his right eye. "Si, are you alright? What happened to you?" Your hands worried over him, gently cupping his cheek as you examine the discoloration.
His large, calloused hands cover both of yours and pull them away from his face with a gentle expression, unusual to his rough features. "Just a scratch, lovie. What're ya doin' here?" His face was stern, and it made you shrink a bit.
You planned for so long, you didn't even think about what you'd do if he refused.
"Well," you swallow thickly, your voice unsure and a little nervous. His unwavering stare is relentless, small droplets of sweat gathering on your neck. "I have a surprise?" Kind of. God, you hope he says yes.
Simon raises a dark eyebrow and crosses his arms. "And wha's tha'?" He is whispering, but you could practically see the drooling sarcasm in his tone. That only made you more nervous. Was this a bad idea? No. The thought of him staying here made your stomach turn.
"Run away with me."
There's a thick silence that pursues your blunt statement. Both of you just stare at one another, almost as if you hadn't said anything at all.
"You're a loon." He dismisses, turning to plop back down on his bed. You follow instinctively, standing at the side of his bed with your arms crossed and a pout on your face.
"Just listen!" You whisper-shout. The dark haired man just shoves his face into the pillow, groaning lowly. "Simon," You hiss, pinching his butt. He doesn't jump, he just turns his head over his shoulder and shoots you a harsh glare.
"'M listenin'," he mumbles tiredly.
"Good, because I have been planning this for months." You huff. It only took as long as it did because you needed to save enough money, but it was well worth it. You climb in beside him, laying on your back. You nearly fall off the side of the skimpy twin mattress, but one of his thick arms wrap around your middle tightly and tugs you into his side. His stomach and cheek press against the mattress as he looks at you, his eyes are dark and exhausted but he's intrigued. You, his little nuisance, want to run away with him. Nothing but trouble, really, but he couldn't help but grow fond of your antics. It warms his heart, the same heart he thought was frozen over eternally.
"Talk, trouble," Simon rumbles, eyes instinctively looking over at his door once more, ears listening for any sounds of footsteps. Half of him just wanted to go with her now and have her explain later, but just the thought of getting caught, his father seeing her, it made him want to throw up. He tightens his arm around her, turning his body so he was laying on his side. He needs to make sure she has an actual plan.
Ecstatic that he was letting you plead your case, you turn to your side, tossing one of your legs over his hip like you always did. His hand cups the underside of your knee and tugs you closer, then keeps you pressed against him with firm grip on your ass. Grinning happily, you begin the small tangent in an urgent whisper. "I have been planning this for about... six months." You admit in a hush tone.
Simon stays silent, his hand brushing up the curve of your lower back, pushing beneath your shirt absentmindedly. He hums and you take that as a sign to continue. "I booked us a hotel for a week. After that, I can pull out a loan for us to get a small apartment. You're gonna have to work too, though."
Both Simon and you were in your last week of high school. You never thought that this is where you'd be, but you couldn't help but feel happy. You still had your favorite grump, and he wouldn't be without his trouble. Although the lines between friendship and something more were definitely blurry, you didn't want it any differently.
Simon's eyes widen a fraction before they soften completely. Huffing, he presses his lips to the top of your head. He feels his heart clench. "Why would ya' do tha' for me?" He murmurs, fully wrapping both of his arms around you, his warmth blanketing you in comfort.
You can't see his face, which worries you since his tone wasn't very easy to read. You wrap your arms around him as well, pushing your face into his shirt and breathing in his scent. "That's a dumb question," you mumble back, peeking up to look at him. "You're my best friend, dummy."
Deciding that he was convinced enough for you, you sit up in his bed and stretch. "Come on, pack your things. I parked the buggy around the block." You whisper quietly as you stand and face him. Your eyes trail over him as he sits up and swings his long legs over the side of the bed. He pins you with eyes you've seen before, a cold heat in those dirt colored depths. A shaky breath shudders through you as his large hands grab at your hips and force you to step between his legs. "We should get going, Si," you whisper, but in spite of those words you find your hands trailing up his forearms slowly, raking your nails against his skin. He doesn't say a word, just continues to look up at you with an emotion you can't describe. It went deeper than any definition could begin to explain.
Simon sighs through his nose. His hand tugs your shirt up, lips pressing soft kisses to the warm skin of your belly. Smiling slightly, you run your fingers through his dark locks, tugging at his roots. You let out a soft sound of surprise as he nips at your skin, most likely in response to your rough handling of his hair. He gently swipes his tongue over the small bite, soothing it apologetically. He stands slowly, his hands never leaving your body.
"Alrigh' love," he murmurs and squeezes your sides before stepping past you to pack some things. He didn't have a lot in general, so he just shoves whatever he can into his small bag. With one last look at his bedroom door, he takes your hand and leads you to the window. He lets you out first, making sure no one saw you before he quietly escapes as well.
You lead him through the shadowy streets of Manchester, guiding him where you parked your shitty pick up. You didn't even bother trying to get in the driver seat, knowing that when in a vehicle he always prefers to drive. You also knew that it's a control thing, so you just let him.
Exhaling lowly, you feel your heart fill with relief. Your plan worked. Smiling widely at Simon, you squeal in happiness. "I can't believe this," you say breathlessly. Simon just looks at you with those deep brown eyes and you know immediately that he's grateful for you. He doesn't need to say it, because you already know.
Simon looks at you for a moment longer before leaning over the center console, his burly hand cupping the back of your neck before he presses his mouth to the corner of your lips. "Thank you," he rumbles against your lips quietly before pulling away and starting the ignition.
You sit stunned, cheeks blissfully pink. Fumbling to put your seatbelt on, you peep out a 'you're welcome' before he pulls away and into the night. The lines were definitely blurred.
Lena, the Werewolf
Monster x human reader (pt 1)
Tumblr media
Mostly safe for work(nudity, depictions of a strap on), but trigger warning for domestic abuse.
Escaping a bad situation leads you to the small town of Denizen, where the people are hiding more secrets than just a beautiful state park. It's here that you meet Lena, the best bartender you've ever met.
(I'd also like to shout out @momolady , as this piece was inspired by characters in her Hearthway Hollow section)
Tumblr media
"Finally away. Finally, I've gotten away." That's all I can think, as I speed down the road. As I wipe the last of the tears from my eyes, I try to control my breathing. Fortunately, I haven't passed any hidden police cars. The way I was driving, I would have been pulled over, for sure. Then again, maybe cops who didn't know my ex would take me seriously.
With clearer eyes, I catch sight of a speed limit sign. I slow down to match the thirty mile per hour limit. I figure that I must be getting close to a town. I'm not even sure where I am, right now. I just ran out of my apartment, got in my truck, and sped off. I didn't even have time to grab clothes, this time. He was so mad... I couldn't stay there. I can only imagine the state that my apartment's in, now. Caleb probably tossed the place and broke all my stuff. It's probably for the best that the majority of my most prized possessions are at my parents' house. But I definitely won't have my computer or a lot of the pictures I had hanging on my walls, when I go back. I shiver at the thought of him still punching holes in my kitchen.
I'm shaken from my thoughts, when I pass a sign. It says, "Welcome to Denizen. Home of Nethermoore State Park." The green of the basic road sign stands out against the fall colors painting the woods around me, making it hard to miss. I don't think I've ever heard of this town, let alone the park. Coming around the corner and over a small bridge, I'm met with a quaint town. Right away, I can identify a coffee shop, hardware store, gas station, grocery store, and a bar, most importantly. The lights on the street have hanging baskets decorated in autumn fashion, with fake, orange leaves and little pumpkins. There's not a stop light, even on the main road. This place is so much smaller than Stillwater.
I pull my truck into a space next to The Raven bar and grill. It stands out pretty well and has a very charming look to it, as it seems it's designed to look like a log cabin. When I park, I notice an older man leaning against the wall, smoking a cigarette. He looks at my truck, before looking in at me. Then, he just looks away, taking a drag. Now parked, I take the chance to look at my phone. Fifteen missed calls, fifteen voicemails, and fifty-seven unread messages, all from Caleb. However, there are also a couple texts from my mom, wondering where I am and if I'm alright. Caleb must have called her to see if I was hiding with her and Dad, again. Hiding there didn't go well, the last time, though. He almost fought my dad to get to me. I'm pretty sure he'd do far worse, this time.
I send her back, "I'm alright, Mom. He's upset, because I finally told him that we're over and that I'm going to be moving out of my apartment and away from him, as soon as I can. It's finally going to be over. I'm going to be staying the night, out of town, but I'll stop by after I go collect my things, tomorrow." I watch the text bubble for "someone is typing" dance for a moment, before her reply pops up. She tells me that she loves me and that she's proud of me for finally leaving him. She tells me to stay safe and that she'll see me, tomorrow.
I store my phone back in my pocket and hop out of the truck. I hadn't gotten the chance to eat the dinner I'd made, and now I'm getting hungry. The smoker looks me up and down and nods at me, but gets a bit of a concerned look on his face.
"You alright, Miss?" he asks.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, just getting through a bit of a rough patch. I'll be fine," I reply.
"Well, this would be the place to help with rough patches," he says, pointing his thumb over his shoulder at The Raven. "But this is also pretty good and you look like you could use it." He fishes a tissue out of the pocket of his jean jacket and hands it to me. I take it and wipe the last of the moisture from my eyes and wipe my nose up, thanking him.
"No problem, miss. I'm Elijah, by the way. I own the grocery, next door, if you need anything, while you're here." Elijah smiles, kindly. He reminds me of my dad, in a way; sturdy build with dark hair and kind eyes. He's the kind of friendly that makes you feel calm.
"Also, miss, and not to pry on your business, but what brings you to town? Camping out the rough patch in the park or you just come for the pour?" he jokes, taking another drag from his cig.
"Oh, I'm YN. YN Green, and I'm just passing though. Needed to get away, for the night, and kinda ended up here by accident," I reply.
He chuckles to himself and replies, "Well, Ms. Green, if you believe the old folktales, no one ends up in Denizen by accident. Always something to find. Anyways, I'll let you get to finding what you need." I nod and thank him for the help. He nods back with a smile.
When I walk into the bar, a few people glance over at me. The place is warmly lit with hunting and sports decor all over the walls, ranging from old Wild jerseys and a gigantic, framed picture of the old Metrodome to mounted deer and fish. There are a couple TVs, too. All are silent, except for the one displaying a channel for the music playing over the speakers. Many of the tables are full, but I find a small one tucked in the back. The black chair I sit in has a little duct taped patch on it. The sound of bar chatter and 90s country is almost foreign.
Then, an older woman in a black t-shirt with the bar's logo walks over with a laminated menu. "Welcome to The Raven. Can I get you started with anything to drink?"
"Just a water, please," I say with a smile. She studies my face for a moment as she hands me the menu.
"Alright, I'll bring that right over," she says in a cheery tone. I look down at the menu. Burgers and sandwiches line both sides of the menu, with sections for appetizers and daily specials. Today, it's fish fry, like many Midwestern places do on Fridays.
Looking up from the menu, I take another look around. This place is different from my usual hang outs, but not in an uncomfortable way. Certainly, just... different. My eyes stop at the bar, where I notice one of the bartenders is looking at me. She glances down as she hands a customer a beer, but her eyes come back to me. Her short, brown hair is pulled back into a paintbrush of a ponytail, showing off her undercut. Her face is soft, but with a strong jawline. She looks athletic and like she enjoys her time at the gym. I'd bet she could open any jar of pickles she set her mind to.
The waitress comes back over and sets my water down. "Know what you're having, tonight?" I look from her to the menu and order the fish - three pieces with waffle fries, and I ask her to hold the side of coleslaw. She scribbles it all down and nods, taking my menu. "Thank you much. That'll be out in a bit." I nod and try looking back at the bar, but the woman is gone, pry helping someone at a different corner of the bar or checking in with the kitchen. Elijah walks in and takes a seat at the bar, giving me a wave when he sees me.
I pull my buzzing phone back out. Caleb's latest text says, "Where the fuck are you? You need to come back here and take back what you said. We're not over and you better be prepared to apologize, you fucking bitch." My eyes start to water, so I just swipe the notifications away. I open my phone and message my landlord about the situation. A friend of my dad, Mark has been working with me to document everything that's happened and get me out. He wishes he could just move me to his other property, but it's all occupied. With Caleb and I both on the lease, though, he's making sure that all charges for damages and fees for breaking the lease are going to him. He thanks me for the info and says he's going to go over and give him his thirty day notice. I thank him and set my phone down, again.
The waitress comes back over, but not with food. She hands me a glass with what looks like a kiddie cocktail in it.
"I didn't order a drink," I tell her. She lets out a little chuckle.
"No, but someone sent it over. Lena makes a mean Malibu Shirley." I glance over at the bar where the bartender, Lena, is looking at me, again, while she stands by Elijah, who's giving me a toothy grin and doing a goofy, finger twiddle wave. I smile at him, mouth a 'thank you', and thank the waitress. She smiles and walks off, again, towards a table of older folks having a rather jovial night. I take a sip of my drink. Sweet and fruity, not too strong. It would be great blended, on a hot summer day.
As the night winds on, I eat my dinner and stare at my phone, trying to find a local hotel. There's a motel at the edge of the state park, but it says that it doesn't have vacancy. The next closest one is forty-five minutes back the way I came. Far too close. I sigh, wishing I hadn't taken my camping gear out of my truck bed. I send messages to Mark and my parents, getting and giving updates about what's all been happening. Apparently, Mark took the police chief with him, to deliver the papers, and Caleb was detained, after they discovered all the damage. I still don't feel safe enough to go home.
Elijah came and went, telling me to have a good night. I order a few more Shirleys, as the night goes on. The waitress, LouAnne, gives me a polite smile, every time she stops at the table. I think I only heard her raise her voice, once, and it was to tell this old drunk he had to go home. Lena kept looking over at me, but I haven't seen her for a bit. I get lost in my search for a place to stay the night and the warm comfort of coconut rum.
Suddenly, the chair on the opposite side of the table slides out and the bartender takes a seat. "I'd ask if this seat was taken, but I don't think I've seen anyone use it, since you came in. Plus, it's getting close to closing time and I doubt anyones gonna come in just to snatch it," she jokes. "I'm Lena." She's even prettier, up close. I notice the little freckles on her cheeks and the crescent moons on her ear piercings.
"Yeah, the waitress told me your name. You're the bartender that likes to stare," I joke back. Her cheeks turn pink, but she laughs along, shoulders shanking. Her eyes are soft. They're green, like walking through a spring forest. "I'm YN." We shake hands and I can feel just how strong they really are.
"Yeah, ol' Eli told me about you. Said you blew in out of nowhere. He also said you might need a place for the night, and considering you've had a few more of my Shirleys than just the one I sent over, I'm gonna guess a ride somewhere, too." I feel my mouth fall open, ever so slightly. She sent it? Probably just trying to be nice, I suppose.
"You sent it? I thought Elijah did, cuz he saw me when I got here, so I thought he was just trying to help me feel better," I tell her. Her face gets a bit more serious.
"Yeah, I did. Elijah mentioned that you looked a little worse for wear, when you pulled up. Everything ok?" she asks, leaning in and resting her forearms on the table. I feel tears fighting to come out, but I hold myself together. Between the stress and liquor, it's a real battle. The crack in my voice, however is a different story.
Telling her, "I'm fine, just some stuff with my b... My ex." I have to correct myself. He's not my boyfriend, anymore. There's a slight shift in Lena's expression, but it passes quickly. "He's just being a jerk cuz I told him to get lost. But then I got lost and ended up here. Funny how that works." I know I'm rambling, but the words are hard to stop. Her face softens as her eyes scan me. She looks so amused.
"You're a little drunk, aren't you?" Not a question.
"Yes, ma'am. And youuuu started it." I point a finger gun at her and giggle. "You make a good drink." Lena smiles and lets out a soft chuckle.
"I'm flattered," she says, mockingly, placing her finger tips against her chest. Then her tone turns to the edge of flirtatiousness. "It's not every day I get such praise from such a pretty girl." I'm praying that the flush from the alcohol hides my blush.
"I, um... Thanks," I squeak out, causing her to throw her head back with laughter.
"God, that was adorable," she wheezes, trying to compose herself. Pretty, now adorable? I'm not even sure what to truly say, in response. "Ok, ok. Real talk. Eli said you were pry in need of a place to stay the night. Not to be presuming anything, but I've got a spot at my place. I have my basement listed as an Air BnB, and it's open, at the moment. Since it's just the night and short notice, you can just crash down there, if you need. If you found a spot, that's cool, too, but I just want to make sure you get where you're headed, safely." She sounds genuine about the offer. I didn't find a place and I didn't even think to check that site, with it being such late notice.
"Uh... Yeah, that would work for me, if it's not too much trouble. I promise I'll pay you back." Lena puts up a hand and shakes her head
"No need. I'm offering. Now, I get done in thirty, so just hang here, while I finish cleaning up and clocking out," she says. And that's what I do. I sit with my, now, almost dead phone and watch her work. She wipes down the bar and washes her mats, before mopping and taking out the trash. She lifts the large bag like it's nothing and I have to push a thought out of my mind, when I realize that I rocked my hips on the chair. She looks back at me, for a moment, before leaving the room, a strange look in her eyes.
When she and the cook lock up, I head to my truck for my charger and travel toothbrush. I expect her to head for a car, but she just starts walking. I try asking her about it, but she says she lives only a bit down the road and that she just walks.
"Do you want to just drive my truck?" I ask. I'd feel better not leaving it here, if I don't have to." She agrees and we hop in. Lena adjusts the seat back and tilts the mirrors. She rolls the windows down, too, letting the chilly, fresh smelling air in. Then, in no time at all, we pull into the long driveway of a gorgeous two story house. She parks my truck and we hop out.
"Hey there, Toasty," Lena babbles after pushing the door open. She looks back at me with an uncomfortable face. "You don't mind dogs, right?" Then, before I register it, we're both surprised by a very happy Staffordshire terrier bouncing out of the door and jumping up to sniff and lick at my face and hands, letting out a few barks. I laugh at the excitable dog and scratch his ears.
"I love dogs!" I laugh, as the dog sits for pets. "Is this good boy yours?"
"Yeah, he's my buddy." Lena leans down and pats his side. Then, he runs into the yard to do his business, before coming back to us. "Alright, in." He follows her command, trotting back through the door and we both follow.
Lena's home is beautiful. She has many different potted plants in her windows, a spacious living room, and a kitchen that would make my mom jealous. She gives me a small tour, only pointing upstairs to tell me she sleeps up there, before taking me to the basement. It's finished and she's set up a second entertainment area with a TV and an Xbox 360. I even spot some old guitar controllers, in the corner. There's a full bathroom and a bedroom, in the far corner with a nice bed already made up.
"I know you said it's alright, but I'm definitely paying you back for this. This is really too kind." Lena just shakes her head.
"Not happening," she replies, crossing her arms.
"You can't stop me from trying," I say, crossing my own arms and smirking. Her brow creases as she lets out a light snort. Lena takes a couple steps towards me and I feel the wall on my back. I stare into her eyes and am surprised that I don't feel the same way Caleb made me feel, when he would corner me. This time, I can feel my heart racing in places besides my chest. I see Lena's eyes dilate, as if she can tell that that's what she was doing to me, too.
She places her right hand above me and says in a low tone, "I can't stop you, YN, but I can certainly do my best to make you too flustered to keep trying." I can smell her sweet and musky perfume. Her eyes have the same amused look that they had, at the bar. She's playing with me, like I'm a toy. I've never flirted with another girl, like this. Sure, I kissed a few friends, in college, but I never really took the chance to pursue anything further. It was all just in good fun, but this? This is different. And so much more exciting.
"And just how would you do that?" I look at her chest as I trail a finger along her collar, before looking back up at her. I see her breath hitch as she takes in my response. Then, she gets more serious, an almost worried look in her eyes.
"You really want to do this? I need you to know that I didn't bring you here for anything funny and that, if you're just playing, I understand. I'm not the kind of person to just bring anyone home, especially not drunk girls. I'm... not the type for one night stands," she says, searching my eyes. Wouldn't this just be one night, though? I mean, I don't think I want it to be, but isn't that how it has to go? I just left Caleb. I can't just start in with a new partner, the same night. Then again, I haven't so much as kissed him, in over three months, and with everything he's done, I think I'm ready for someone who wants me.
I look Lena in the eyes, then down to her lips. They're thin and I can tell that she bites them, but they draw my attention in a supernatural way. I want to see more of her. I want her. Looking back up and meeting her eyes, I can almost see sweat forming on her brow, in anticipation of my answer.
I place my hands on either side of her face and let out a steady breath. "My brain has been so fried, this evening, Lena, but if there's anything that I know for certain, it's that I don't think I'd ever forgive myself if I didn't take this chance. I want this and I want you." Her eyes light up and I don't think she really knows what else to do, besides stare at me and bring a hand to my cheek. Her mouth is trying to form words, but nothing comes out. I let out a small chuckle, before leaning in just a little, glancing down at her lips, again. This time, she takes the initiative and kisses me, hungrily. My hands find each other, interlocking my fingers behind her neck. Her right hand, remains on the wall, while her left takes hold of my waist, pulling my body to hers.
"Fuck, your lips taste good," Lena growls. She tastes like peppermint and vanilla chapstick. I can feel my body turning on for the first time in ages, as she kisses me. She rolls her hips against mine and I begin to notice a firm object being ground against me. In my head, I let out a long "fuck." Lena hard packs. She's a butch who hard packs. I moan against her lips, grinding my hips to match hers.
"You're sure about this, YN?" Lena pants in my ear, huskily.
"All bark and no bite, huh?" I goad, trying to control my breathing as I plant a soft kiss on this woman's neck. She lets out a noise somewhere between a low growl and a chuckle, before latching into the side of my neck. Her teeth press against my skin and I can't hold back from moaning, which only seems to encourage her. She hungrily licks and sucks at my neck and I have to push her away, before she leaves a mark.
"Not there, just yet," I whine. "I want it there, but no visible ones, yet." She nods, a hungry look in her eye, as she realizes that this means she will have access to the rest of my body to leave marks on. She licks her lips as she looks me over.
"Fair enough." With a quick movement of her hands, I'm lifted off of my feet. I wrap my legs around her middle as her strong hands caress my thighs. "Then let's take this to my room, huh?" She gives a toothy smirk as she begins to effortlessly carry me up the two flights of stairs.
"God, you're strong," I tell her, making her smile.
"I have a very active lifestyle. When I'm not at the bar, I'm either in the gym or on the trails. And I work at the trail head, for the nature center. They have me split firewood, for the campers at the state park." I get a mental image of Lena all sweaty, wearing a wife pleaser and jeans, with an ax over her shoulder. She hums out a teasing tone, when she feels my muscles clench at the thought. One hand slides further up my ass and gives me a little squeeze, as we get to the second set of stairs. "I felt that, cutie."
I mutter into her neck, "Well, I could feel your strap, when you were grinding on me, so I guess we're even."
"You can do a lot more than feel it through my pants, if you want," she growls in my ear. When we get to the top of the stairs, I feel a wet nose touch my ankle. Toasty is looking at us, happy for company. Lena sets me down and gives his head a pat. "Sorry, buddy. You're going to have to sleep in the living room, tonight." He cocks his head, but trots down the stairs, when Lena tells him to go on.
Lena's room is spacious with a couple of dressers, thier tops covered in little knick knacks, a large book case with books ranging from older hardcovers to more contemporary, and a comfy looking king-sized bed with a maroon comforter on it and a large walnut chest at the foot of it. I excuse myself to her bathroom, for a second. I set my phone on the counter to charge and pull my toothbrush from my pocket. I give myself a quick cleaning and check my neck for a mark. Besides being a little red, I'm ok.
When I come out, Lena is sitting on the bed, looking deep in thought. She gives me a soft smile, when she notices I'm looking at her. I ask her what's wrong and she just gives a little shake of her head.
"I'm trying to figure out the right words, right now..." answers Lena. I give her a confused look and she sighs. "Well, there's... some stuff you need to know, if you're serious about this whole thing. And it's... It's going to be really hard to believe and make me sound insane." She looks almost terrified. I sit next to her and she keeps just looking at the carpet. "I hardly know you, YN... But I really feel a connection that I can't shake."
"I was feeling something similar..." I say. "Back at the bar? I just couldn't stop looking at you. Something in the back of my brain kind of just said 'that is the prettiest, most fascinating person you've ever seen, so you better not stop staring.'" She finally looks at me with a soft smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes..
"I'm... not quite a normal person." I raise an eyebrow at this as she searches for more words. "Well, you how I'm a dog person? Like, how I have Toasty?" I nod. "Well, I'm also a dog-person. With the hyphen, in the middle."
"So... You're a furry? Or is this like a pet-play thing?" I ask, thinking she's just worried about exposing a fetish.
Lena says, voice wavering in a way I would have predicted, "I'm... not entirely... human? I'm... I'm a werewolf." A goddamn werewolf? I turn and just stare at the floor, the same way she had been.
I sigh. "If you didn't really want to have sex with me, you could have just said." She looks shocked.
"I'm being serious!" exclaims Lena. "Want me to show you?" I look back at her and tell her very matter of factly that, yes, if she ever expects me to believe her that she's a werewolf, then I'm going to need proof. Holding eye contact with me, she offered her hands. I watch as they shift from the slightly muscular hands of the butch bartender to a set of furry claws. I jump back, almost falling off the bed. I don't even know what to say.
Lena stares at her hands and replies, "It's a genetic thing, so don't be worried about catching it. This town was made for our kind, a few decades ago. That's why people ask strangers if they're going to the park. It's a total safe zone for us to shift or be in our less-than-human forms. ...I'm sorry, I should have told you, sooner." She can't even look at me. She looks so ashamed. I'm trying to process it all, but nothing is computing, properly.
Slowly, I manage to ask, "Can... Can you always control it, like that, or... you know... Like, does the full moon make you wolf out?"
"I'm in total control, but the pack does get together, during the full moon, for a meeting and other activities. Mostly a midnight run or hunt," Lena explains. I look back down at her hands. They're still the paw-like, furry hands. "February can be a bit hectic, though." She laughs a little at this, but whatever it is goes over my head. Taking everything in, today, must have taken its toll, as this all starts to feel less and less insane. I place my hand on her shoulder and she stiffens.
"I've had... a very rough day, Lena. And I don't know if it's the drinks, the fact I've been so emotionally drained, or the fact that I thought you were a person I was genuinely 100% glad I met, a few minutes ago, but I don't think I care about... any of that," I say, tiredly, gesturing at her claws. She looks up at me, eyes wet with tears she's holding back, like water in a dam.
"You... you really don't mind that I'm..." Her lip quivers and I almost can't help but think it's cute. I give her a soft smile.
"Strangely enough, no." I sigh and replace my hand with my head, resting it on her muscular shoulder. "I just wish you'd saved it for a bit." I can feel her turn her head, a bit. "Not meaning that this was one, but telling a girl you're a werewolf is kind of a second date type thing." Lena bursts out with her hardy laugh, again, wheezing and letting her tears fall. I scoot closer to her and wrap an arm around her waist.
"So... I'll take it you want to keep seeing me?" Lena asks, sniffling and wiping away tears from her eyes and face with her paws.
"Yeah... I want to get to know Lena. But you need to do a couple things, first." She nods, smiling that beautiful smile. "1.) I could use some pajamas, 2.) I want to see your whole body do that, cuz that is so weird and I don't think I'll be able to sleep without seeing how that works, and 3.) you're big spoon." She laughs and leans into me.
She jokes, "Alright, but if you ask me to play fetch, you're sleeping downstairs." I pick my head up and look into her pretty, green eyes. I give her a quick kiss on the cheek and tell her it's a deal. Then, she kisses my forehead and gets up to find me some night time clothes. She hands me a white tank top and a pair of thin, black, cotton pants. As I'm about to excuse myself back to the bathroom, she turns away and pulls her shirt off. She does the same for her sports bar. I can see just how cut she is, now. My eyes linger on her toned back as I set the clothes on her bed. I, similarly, turn away from her, disrobing and watch her out of the corner of my eye, the same way you suspect she is.
As I pull her tank top over my head, I hear the zipper of her jeans come down. I watch with anticipation as Lena slides them over her hips, exposing her red boxers and the straps of the mount she's wearing underneath it. She tosses the jeans onto a chair that seems to house a few articles of "I'll wear those again" clothes as I finish pulling on the pair of pants. She digs in her dresser and pulls out a gray t-shirt and blue, flannel shorts. She casually brings them over to her bed and sets them down, all the while she's smirking, I know she saw my ogling her chest.
"You can look, YN. Wolves are pretty open about their bodies. Can't quite shift well in your clothes and expect them to be in decent shape, after." My eyes are scanning her body and I can practically feel my brain kicking me for not just telling her to shut up and fuck me, after I got out of the bathroom. Her tits are great and the outline of her strap is just... Ugh... "Also... I can smell every time you've been turned on, tonight. Glad I waited for you to be looking, when I did the trash." She winks as my face flushes bright red.
Then, moment of truth, she slides her boxers off. Her mounted dildo springs up from her thigh - dark blue and purple, large, and in a very uncommon shape. Of course the werewolf lesbian has a Bad Dragon. I make a mental note to look for the model, in the morning. Unfortunately, I don't get to enjoy it, before she slides the toy from her hips and puts it in the chest with what looks like more of her gear. Now I can see her well groomed bush. And she's about to get more hairy.
Lena looks at me, nervously, as she steps back to the center of her room, stark naked and asks, "You're ready for this?" I nod, sitting sideways on her bed. I take a deep breath as I watch her. She groans as her body shifts and elongates, growing hairier and more monstrous. I feel my body start to shake with fear, but I don't look away. Her kind eyes change to add tones of rich amber to the forest green. Her chestnut hair covers her body, changing to gray in many places. She's so much taller than me, now. And she has a tail! She looks straight out of a movie. Twilight, eat your heart out.
As I try to speak, Lena rasps out, "There's more." Then, she begins to shrink onto all fours, hands becoming paws, broad chest slimming, and cut muscles becoming less and less defined as a wolf, unrecognizable from any other, now stands in Lena's bedroom. She pads over to me and looks up with the saddest puppy eyes I ever saw, laying her head in my lap. She can definitely feel me still shaking, because she lets out a sad whine. I don't suppose she can talk, like this.
Carefully, I set my hand on her head and her tail starts to wag, ever so slightly. I pet her coarse, yet still fluffy, fur. She's like the husky my friend had, when we were kids. She lets out another whine, looking at me expectantly, but I just stare back. I think to scratch behind her ears and she seems to enjoy it, but shakes her head and takes a step back. I watch as she shifts back, groaning and growing more and more nude, until she's just plain, naked Lena.
"I forget that you can't understand me, like that." Lena walks back around the bed and hikes her boxers back up. She comes back around, pulling her shirt on and squats in front of me. "Are you alright? I know that seeing that is a lot, the first time." I put my hand back on her head and just play with her hair. She sighs and stands up, crawling onto the bed and pacing herself at the center. Her arms are open and she motions for me to come closer. I do, sitting between her legs as she wraps me in a warm hug. She sways and hums one of the songs that had been playing at the bar. I hardly even register it, when I start to cry. It feels like my body is just all of a sudden racked with sobs as I cry against her.
"It's alright, YN. It's going to be alright. I've got you." Three little words to make you feel at home. Two strong arms to hold you together. Lena feels like the one person in the whole world with both, and she is, right now. "I don't know what all you're going through, right now, or how much I've just added to all of the things on your mind, but I'm right here, for you, YN. I'm right here." She continues swaying and rocking me until I can't cry anymore. She wipes my teary face either thumbs and holds my cheeks in her hands, until I look at her.
"That's it. It's going to be ok. Want me to grab you some tissues? There's a box right over there." She jerks her head over to her right. I nod and she leans back, stretching out. She comes back with a small box of Kleenex and I take one, blowing my nose, loudly. She rubs my back and just sits, patiently waiting. After a few more tissues and a few more lingering hiccups of sobs, I'm left puffy-eyed and all cried out, leaning into Lena's warm hug.
"I think it's time to get some rest. We'll figure this out, in the morning, alright?" Lena softly asks. I nod against her chest. She scoots back, leading me with her hand, as I crawl behind her. "Ok. Let's just scoot back, here, and get comfortable and we can fall asleep, when you're ready. Come here." She pulls back the comforter and tosses the decorative pillows off the end of the bed. Lena, then, pulls the covers over both of our laps, as I lean into her, finding comfort in her warmth.
"Lena?" I whimper, trying to find my voice.
"Yeah?"
"This is all real, right now?"
"I'm afraid it is." I nod. "Is there anything I can do for you, YN? Anything at all that would help you though this?" She sounds so sincere, almost pleading.
"Just... Don't... Don't let me go. Okay? Promise me that."
Lena's face softens and she kisses me on the top of my head. "YN, when I said that thing about not doing one night stands, I meant it. There's nothing set in stone, but I trust my instincts and they're completely drawn to you. Wolves mate for life."
"I know this sounds weird, but haven't you had partners, before? You seem so confident and practiced." She laughs through her nose.
"I've had a few standing partners, but those relationships were for mutual physical needs. I'm twenty-seven and it's a bitch to be as horny as wolves can get, without having an outlet. Mostly women, but one was nonbinary," Lena explains, gently, rubbing my arm with her thumb.
"Men, but mostly because I was unsure. Looking at you... I don't know, it was just different." She nods along.
"It can feel like that, sometimes. And it's ok to feel unsure." Lena rests her chin in my head. "Also, and I hate to do this, but I'm going to run downstairs and let Toasty out, for just a second. I'll be right back, ok?"
I nod and reply, "Yeah, go ahead." She kisses the top of my head, before slipping out of the bed, putting on her shorts, and telling me she'll be right back, before disappearing out the door. I head to the bathroom, myself, while she's gone. Checking my phone once more, finding nothing but random notifications, before grabbing it and plugging it in next to the bed, for the night. I swipe away all of the notifications for calls and texts from Caleb, the fear of that whole situation feeling like a distant memory. I take a chance to look at his messages, all the same as they've been during previous fights. I know I have to go back to my apartment, tomorrow, to assess the damage.
When I hear Lena coming back up the stairs I shut my phone off and set it back down. She flicks the light off and climbs back into her bed to snuggle up to me.
"Can I ask one more big favor?" I ask.
"Anything."
"Can I come back, tomorrow? Stay a while?"
"Nothing would make me happier. Stay as long as you'd like. Preferably forever, but..." she jokes. I laugh and that makes her smile. "Aww, there's that cute laugh. ...Alright, now. It's been a long day and it's getting really late. We'll get you all settled, tomorrow. I already told Vix, that I'm not going to be in, tomorrow, anyways." Lena holds me close as she prepares to fall asleep. With the weight of everything, both being away from Caleb and from everything since I entered Lena's house, I fall asleep almost immediately. I barely make out Lena's, "Goodnight, YN," as I fade into the darkness of sleep, dreamless and safe.
if you’re ever in the mood to write for kbd again i’d love to ask for an argument fic! i’m a huge hurt/comfort fan and i feel like the arguments you write always feel so realistic and healthy(?) in a way? ily
thank you for your request! im glad u like how i write arguments bcos i find it so difficult, I hope this fills your hurt/comfort needs! kbd | dad!steve x mom!reader
You're tapping your foot on the kitchen floor, annoyed and upset and not sure if you should say anything about it.
Dove said her first words today. And you found out through Avery, who sits on the kitchen table in front of you with her legs dancing over the edge, clearly unhappy that you're unhappy, her hands stroking your cheeks affectionately. She's only six. You feel terrible that she can tell you're upset.
"Mom, how can I make you happy?" she asks.
It's something you've said to her a thousand times. She cries, and she's finally at the age where you can ask her what solution she needs.
You love her, but your patience isn't very strong today. You remove her hands from your face gently and give her a weak smile.
"I just need to talk to daddy, that's all."
"I'll go get him!" she says, clambering onto your legs and down onto the ground.
You don't really like the idea of summoning him for a scolding, and you've been with him long enough to know how to navigate a disagreement without a fuss. But you aren't perfect, and neither is he. When he arrives in the kitchen with a broken baby doll in his hands, he looks so comely, so homespun, and you're still mad.
"Why didn't you tell me Dove said her first words?"
His eyes light up, but he swiftly fixes his expression into a more neutral one. "I– sorry, yeah, she said daddy." He grins like he can't help it. He probably can't. "Oh, you should've heard it, she couldn't have sounded less excited to say it, what a doll."
"But why didn't you tell me?"
Steve seems to clock where this is heading, then, and puts the doll down on the kitchen counter. "It slipped my mind."
"Really? Her very first words slipped your mind? Like, that's not extremely important to you?"
"Of course it's important to me." Steve's eyes narrow, and his eyebrows start to rise. It's not an angry look nor is it cruel, but it rubs you the wrong way. It's sceptical. "But I'm busy all of the time. Which you know."
You're getting more and more irate. It's not his fault, but it feels like his fault in the moment, and you don't like how he's talking to you, and your head hurts.
"I didn't say you're not busy, but I still think you should've told me when I came in."
"I just– I don't know, I had to give Bethie a bath, and then Dove was fussing. And now her doll's broken. I was busy."
You sigh. "Sometimes," you say, more depressed than mad, "you act like they're not even mine. You act like they're just your girls. I'm their mom."
"Do I do that?" he asks, incredulity leaching into his words.
"Steve, you should've told me straight away. She's my baby, I should've found out from you, and not Avery, like an afterthought."
"I told you, I forgot."
"I don't care if you forgot– actually, I do, because that's the problem. You shouldn't forget to tell me when my own daughter starts talking–"
"You're acting like I chose not to tell you. I wasn't not going to tell you, but I have other things on mind! I have a lot to do, in case you forgot!"
"Like I'm not busy too?" you ask. "Like I don't work all day every day to come home to you. To make sure there's a home to come home to."
"You're throwing that in my face?" he asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
"No! No, I'm just saying that I'm busy too, you're not the only one who has to do things, Steve, but the difference is that I would never forget to tell you something like that!"
"Maybe if you were home, you wouldn't need to shout at me about it. You feel guilty and you're taking it out on me."
You don't see red or anything so aggressive —no. You just feel like he's slapped you, like he's reached right into the centre of your chest and said the thing that's going to hurt you the most.
You don't want to cry. You know how it looks, like you're losing, so you're crying, so he'll feel sorry and make you feel better. Steve has known you and loved you for years and he knows the look on your face before tears have even welled up. You twist away from him and cover your face with your hands, your skin hot as a burning hearth.
And the tears are pathetic. Sniffling, quiet, high-pitched in the back of your throat. It's not fair. It's not fair, you want to stay home too, you want to see their first moments, and you don't get to do it and he's shouting at you and you just want to shrink into nothing right then and there. You're tired, and you're embarrassed at yourself for speaking to him like that. He doesn't deserve it.
"Honey," Steve says, all malice gone. "Honey, don't. It's okay."
"I'm fine."
"No, it's okay," he says, putting his hand on your shoulder.
"Ignore me," you say, "I'm not crying to– I'm just mad."
"Don't cry," he murmurs, pressing his lips to your crown. "Don't. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry."
Love is so unfortunate, sometimes. He's the only one who you want comfort from, but you're so mad at him. Even if he's right. The anger is as illogical as the love; you want him to go away and you need him to rub your back as you snuffle.
"It's not fair, Steve. You can't just say that."
"I know. I'm sorry. I know you can't be home. I know I'm the lucky one. I know how much you've given away to let me have what I want," he says, moving so he's face to face with you.
"Now you'll think I'm crying just to be the one upset," you say with a sob.
"Only a little bit." He laughs fondly at your frown. "I'm kidding!"
You cry so much he has to wrap his arms around you to keep you together. It's not his fault, but suddenly everything breaks the surface, how guilty you feel for missing out, how annoyed you are at him for knowing that and still giving you a hard time, how annoyed you are at yourself for shouting at him over something he can't control. You cry because you miss the girls, you miss him, and you're tired. There's hundreds of tiny reasons.
Steve sounds a little emotional himself when he says, "God, I'm sorry." His cheek pressed hard to your ear, his hug tightening. "I'm a dick, making you cry."
"I'm a dick. I'm sorry," you say, head heavy, tears slowed.
"It's okay. I know why you're upset. I promise I know. I shouldn't have got so defensive… but I really did forget, honey. I'm sorry, but I did."
"I know. I'm sorry for being a bitch about it."
He laughs and pulls back to cup your cheek. "You are not a bitch. You got upset, you're not the antichrist."
You sniff. Steve pulls the corner of your mouth into an uneven smile and then, slowly, leans in to dot a kiss there. When he moves back, his face is slack. An unhappiness lingers in his lips and his eyes where they're trained on your tacky cheek.
He moves in for a second kiss. This one is firmer, longer, and you reciprocate with relief.
"Do you really think that? That I act like they're just my girls?" he asks when he pulls away.
You duck your head so you don't have to look at him, or face the mean things you'd said. Not just mean, either, but the things you're embarrassed to have thought.
"Not really. Sometimes I feel like…" You don't want to say it aloud. You rub the skin of his wrist in a fidget.
"Go on," he says.
"I worry I'm not choosing the right thing. I would never ask you to give this up… I really wouldn't. But I worry I'll regret not being here."
Steve wraps his hands in your t-shirt and pulls it toward him. You're becoming more and more intertwined as the conversation progresses, your faces much too close.
"We've always said," he says slowly, "that you could change your mind. That you could come home, and that I would work. We've always said that. You don't have to be afraid to tell me you've been thinking about it."
"I haven't." You sniff. "I don't even think I could do it."
"Are you kidding?" Steve asks.
A rogue tear races down your cheek. If you speak, you'll sob, so you shake your head and hold onto his wrist for dear life.
"You're the best mom they ever made," he says, easing closer still, his face imploring, pleading with you, "why would you ever think you can't do it? It’s different to when you’re home, being alone with them, it's fucking hard, and I think you'd struggle to get used to it at first because I still struggle now, but you could do it. I know you could. You could stay at home and look after them if you want to, I want you to do that if it's what you need."
"This is silly," you say.
"It's not silly."
"I've made this all about me. I was angry at you and now you're comforting me." You stroke his cheek with your knuckle. "I'm the one who should be comforting you. You race after the kids all day and then the wife comes home and grabs you by the ear."
"I think I'd kinda like it if you did," he says.
You both laugh.
"I'm sorry," you say.
Steve nods. "Yeah, me too."
You bite back everything that's hurting. It's only a temporary pain. You'll figure out what you want, and you have your best friend in the world kneeling in front of you, willing to do anything if it'll help.
"I should be nicer to you," you murmur.
"You're plenty nice. But if you're still feeling guilty, I'd die for a kiss, sweetheart."
You wipe your face with your sleeves, wet cheeks, snotty nose, and brush your hair away so you look like someone worth kissing. "Do I look okay?"
"You look beautiful," Steve says fondly, leaning in for a kiss. His hands bracelet your wrists. "So pretty," he says between kisses.
"Don't," you chastise lightly, "this is why I keep getting knocked up."
"In that case," he says against your lips. He deepens the kiss against your charmed laughter, his hand sliding to the back of your neck, holding you still in the face of his ardency.
You part before things can get heated and he lets you apologise again, though he insists it isn't necessary, your arms over his shoulders, your nose in his hair. He's always been so good like that —Steve doesn't hold a grudge with you (though others may not be so lucky). He stands you up, brushes you down, even wipes your cheeks with a washcloth. It's why you could never send him to work. He's a caretaker down to the bone.
Bethie, sweet girl as she is, appears as he's wiping your puffy eyes. She's almost three and a half, and she's the cutest girl in existence if Steve is to be believed. He visibly softens at her entrance alone.
"Hello, Bethie-baby," he says, "we were wondering where you were. Did you finish your crackers?"
She's a daddy's girl and she always has been, so it surprises you when she pretty much ignores him and holds her hands up to you. You pick her up, let her settle against your chest.
"Hey, Beth."
"Missed you," she says.
"Oh, you did?" you ask, overjoyed. You sniffle the last of your upset away and lock it down tight.
She's a quiet baby. You worried she had developmental issues at first (which wouldn't have mattered in terms of love, but worried all the same), though these days your theory is that she doesn't want to speak very much. She likes to communicate in other ways, namely affection, and her face brushes yours as she hugs you.
You pat her back like she knows she likes. Steve smiles at you from over his shoulders. You wear twin expressions —I'm sorry, I love you, isn't she lovely?
How do you think everyone would react if cove and mc got pregnant at 18? Like the reason for them being engaged so young is because they are expecting
tags : Angst, headcanons, fem/afab reader, pregnancy
[part 2: cove finding out you're pregnant]
Tumblr media
CLIFF
cliff would be.. he'd have the same feelings he had when kyra got pregnant with cove
he'd be scared, but happy because it is an exciting thing that a lot of people wish to hear one day!
but as cove's dad, he'd first be disappointed just because he never would've wished such a struggle on anyone at such a young age, especially his own son.
doesn't bother getting angry, because what would that do? it won't make you un-pregnant and it'd just make cove (and you) mad at him or upset, since of course you already know it's not an ideal situation.
when he realizes that you got engaged because of the pregnancy though, he tries to have a talk with cove.
he knows how much you two love each other, but he also knows from experience that this just doesn't work.
i think that'd end up in an argument, because even though cove and cliff have a better relationship than before, 5-10 years doesn't erase all the hurt from back then
cliff might end up saying something like "you don't want to end up like me and your mom" or even worse, "you shouldn't mess up your future."
all that would upset cove so much... because does he think that cove was a mistake? is that what he's saying? is he saying that you and cove would fail miserably? either way. they aren't thinking clearly, and cove already has a lotta feelings about how he was born, let alone conceived.
cove would probably end up saying something (a bit) hurtful like "i would never end up like you and mom." , "i would never marry MC if i didn't know it'd work. unlike some people, i'm not gonna make my kid listen to us argue and then try to play happy family." , or "trust me, my kid won't end up with a childhood like mine." / "trust me, my marriage won't end up like yours."
is it very ooc? probably. but everyone has the ability to say something hurtful, and when you experience something traumatic like your parents fighting, or knowing the circumstances of your birth, you have a lot of thoughts and feelings...
he does end up apologizing, but cliff probably ends up apologizing too since, again, they both probably said things they didn't mean
after that, things get a bit better. there's probably a lot of emotional conversations after that, just to get everything off their chests. hell we might even need family therapy, just to smooth things over before your baby gets here...
KYRA
now kyra... mmm i think this is where her awkwardness comes in. remember how she says she felt more like a cool aunt than his mom?
i think this is where kyra gets close to you, tries to offer you support and helps you through all the changes of pregnancy
she's mostly afraid for both of you. doesn't want you to try and slap a bandaid on this with marriage, kinda like how her and cliff did...
although i do think she was first angry when the news dropped. she really thought that you and cove, cove especially, would be more careful considering everything...
but the distance between her and you guys makes her sit on it for awhile, she does calm down and realize that you're just in the same position she was in, and are likely scared but doing your best...
calls both of you separately, just some a little one-on-one time and a heart-to-heart.
asks if you're really sure if you wanna get married, of course she expects you two to be sure about it, you two haven't gotten tired of each other yet and you're about to be intertwined in every way possible
reminds you that marriage is all about communication. and when you're raising a kid especially, and patience! also knows how much you love each other, and tells you to make time for yourselves and your relationship.
PAM & NOELANI
i instantly knew they'd be mad.
remember how pam worries in step 2 that cove is bad news? i think in her anger, ends up saying something like, "i knew something like this would happen." "i told you he was a bad influence."
yknow i've always wondered how cove would feel if he knew pam thought that about him, and i think in this situation, it'd hurt him a lot, and it'd open up a new can of insecurities and doubts.
starts worrying that he's holding you back, bringing you down... but we can get to that later
noelani tries to keep pam calm, does chastise her for saying that in front of you, especially if cove is there.
noelani is so disappointed, and you can see it so heavily... she'd sigh, mumble something- probably about how she "cant believe it...", covers her face with her hands..
she definitely asks, "how could you let this happen?" she really trusted you to make smart decisions, and even if this was a really big accident (like the rubber broke), she still didn't expect it n can't stop being disappointed
it takes them a few days for them to relax. this news had them totally spun and their emotions jumble up whenever its brought up or they think about it
they know being upset is gonna make it better, and if you're still living at home, they can see how sad you are, which helps them cave in. even if you don't whenever you call, they can hear how sad you are, or maybe you're texting less, whenever you visit your energy is lower than usual...
to start with, just to get out the way, they reassure you that you don't have to get married, that you shouldn't do something you guys don't want to, that you can be parents just fine without marriage
feels better when you insist you're not doing it just for the baby, i mean, not much. but you're insistent, and if you found out you're pregnant after getting engaged, they just have to trust you.
they also have to trust cove when he says he's gonna take care of you and the baby.
they knew cove is always very sincere and determined, even if he hesitates at times, but when he's set on something, he does it, so even though they're not happy about the situation, you're flying the nest now, and hitting milestones at a young age so all they can do is support you
and if noel does have a bit too much fun helping you set up the nursery, don't say a THING!!!
all the parents do make you sit down and explain your plan, who's going to work, who's watching the babe, if you're still going to school... all that. it's not that they aren't going to help you, but are you ready to take on the responsibility for your baby?
LIZ
liz is super worried for you, and cove too actually. you're her little sister/sibling, she still sees you and cove as kids in some way, and she still preens when you come to her for help...
the news just makes her head spin, but her first question is if you're okay, n if she's at home, she gives you a hug, lets you cry if you need it.
and this is also where her (protective) big sister energy comes in.. she hates seeing you sad when your moms are still heavily upset about the news
she tries to be there for you as much as possible, and especially if the first trimester is really rough on you, if cove isn't by your side then she is.
doesn't bother lecturing either of you. whats the point? all of your parents have already chewed your ears off, and it's not like you need any more stress or worry, or need to know that there's someone else disappointed in you/cove
i was going to say she'd give cove a stern talking too about being their for you, but she realizes she doesn't really need to do that.
tells him "i'm sure you'll be a good dad" maybe even, "well, i guess this was gonna happen one day anyway.." and that you're lucky to have him.
although after all those comforting n reassuring words, she does slap him on the back and remind him not to hurt or fail both of you, least he wants to feel her wrath. :) (she's a protective auntie already <33)
tries to keep the energy up by being excited for the baby, or by distracting you with some bonding time w your amazing older sister<3 makes jokes about being the cool aunt, when the times right ofc. she's really just trying to distract you, which works sometimes more than others
LEE
the phone is SILENT. which is really scary coming from lee...
she does speak eventually, asks if you're gonna keep it, what're you going to do, and depending on how you word the news, if cove is there to tell her, or if she's already heard some of the news from the rest of the family, she'll ask if cove knows
she tries not to ask too many questions, because she doesn't wanna upset you or seem insensitive
i think she's really lost on what to do. your and cove's parents have already done all the lecturing, and worrying over each detail...
so she just offers you comfort. or a distraction.
really, her reaction is based off yours, because if you're excited, then so is she! but if you're really sad and/or stressed, then she's subdued, tries to figure out how to help you even though she's not close by...
in fact, her and liz would plan a "girls trip" for you. just to distract you, help you feel better. it's nothing big, just 2 days in the city and you spend most your time going from shop to shop and different restaurants and cafes.
their energy keeps your spirits up, but if you're not up for all that, or even if you're tired of all the running around after the first day, they set up a nice "sleepover" in the hotel room and you only get one noise complaint!
both of them definitely reassure you that if you ever need a break, you can trust them, amazing and cool aunties lee and liz, with the babe (spoiler: you can, but just know you're interrupting many 'a tea parties when you come to pick up the babe)
DEREK, MIRANDA , TERRY, & BAXTER
their eyes fell out their head.
in fact, terry spat out his drink, like projectile spray... and derek is having an outta body experience probably, definitely dropped whatever he was holding.
baxter too, he's taking a sip of his coffee and when you tell him, he chokes a bit, squeezes the cup n now he has coffee on his pants... he's shocked as hell
i hope you didn't tell them in a public place btw, because terry definitely yelled out "you're pregnant?!" and now everyone in sunset bird/wherever you are who didn't know.. knows.
terry isn't sure whether to tell you congrats or not, is very very confused, says congrats but then starts rambling out loud about what if you're not excited, what if it's a bad thing... all that
and miranda too, offers a careful congrats and then says "um.. that is a good thing, right? i mean, it's okay if not!" and yeah you've broken them..
if you reassure them it is a good thing. well, as good as it can be really. then they relax
derek rambles off all his concerns, asks if you're really gonna do it (raise the baby)
and then starts rambling about how hard it was taking care of his brothers... is quick to remind you that it was fun! and he loves his brothers! and that you'll be great parents! and maybe your baby won't be as rambunctious as niko was as a toddler!
just offers you good wishes, and if you ever need help, call him! he's a expert at handling his brothers, so he might know a thing or two. unless it's genuine parenting advice then.. call his mom or dad, or yours, haha
now baxter... well assuming you told him you were engaged before he left, or even if you imagine all this happening while he's here, he doesn't have much to say
he's just a stranger after all, even if you befriend him quickly, he doesn't have much to say to you
he tries to contain his surprise, and he first asks if you're excited, then he offers his congratulations and says you two will be great parents and that the kid will be very loved by everyone.
after seeing you two around the neighborhood, and your getting to know your family and friends a bit, he doesn't worry about you guys too much.
even though he knows teen pregnancy isn't ideal, he does know your kid has a happy life ahead of them, and that you have a lot of support n love around you, and that you and cove will work hard to be good parents, so he doesn't worry for you too much
i'm tempted to say you or cove would find a unnamed flower or gift basket on your parents doorsteps, or maybe he even brings a very early wedding/baby gift since he knows he won't be around, but i'm not sure... although i think that's kinda a baxter thing to do
but now if he found out later in step 4, he'd be surprised by the news (and seeing that you have a kid already) but he'd just tell you he's happy it's all working out for you, and that your kid is very adorable and you have a lovely family
"Joel?"
Ellie shifts slightly so she can look up at him, cheek squished against his biceps. The movie is long over, but the best part of the night is dozing off pressed against Joel while he reads or whittles away at something. Sometimes he even reads out-loud, voice rhythmic and soft, lulling her to sleep. He glances down at her and lowers his book, arm coming up to wrap around her.
"Yeah, baby?"
She chews on her lip, trying to find the words in her tired mind, and Joel's thumb gently rubbing her shoulder is the opposite of helpful, her eyelids fluttering shut.
"What's Tommy, like, to me? He's your brother but I don't. I don't know where I fit."
Joel stays silent for a litlte bit, seemingly properly thinking about her question, and she curls up tighter against his chest, pressing her face into his shirt somewhere below his neck. She's tired enough to fall asleep like this even with the lights on, and she chose this moment exactly because of that, knowing that the fatigue will prevent her from freaking out too much; so far, it's doing its job.
"Tommy is whatever you want him to be, babygirl, there's no pressure."
"I know", she sighs, answer kind in his typical Joel-fashion, but useless.
"I just don't know what to call him, to other people, I mean."
Explaining her relationship with Joel to the other children and teachers at school was already a task, and while the latter didn't question her answers, she's given up on trying to convince her classmates that Joel isn't her actual dad. The spark for this conversation had been an encounter with one of the newer arrivals, whom Tommy had introduced her to as 'my brother's kid', which, sure, probably the easiest way of putting it. But-
"Someone called him my uncle, and he didn't correct them. I don't know if-"
"If he's okay with everyone calling him that?"
Ellie nods, glad that he understands what she is getting at, and he holds her a little tighter as he pulls her further into his lap. Joel presses a kiss to her temple, her forehead, then her hair before settling with his chin resting on the top of her head, his hands rubbing soft circles into her back.
"You're my kid," he says plainly, "which makes you a part of his family, and since he's my brother, yeah, I guess uncle is accurate. I don't think he minds."
"You sure?"
The last thing she wants to do is upset either of them, and she and Tommy have actually been getting along quite well, bullying Joel and doing all the things he doesn't want either of them to do - in short, making him go grey twice as fast as before.
"Very sure."
(He doesn't want to tell her just yet that Tommy has been calling himself her uncle since day one, introducing Ellie as his niece in turn.)
"Alright."
Ellie wraps her arms around his waist when Joel lowers them onto the couch, safely trapped between him and the backrest, and she holds on tight even while she drifts off, sleep coming easily and gently, closing their eyes with a gentle touch. He will carry her to bed later, enjoying the opportunity to simply feel her breathing and alive against him for now.
"G'night, Joel." (Saying it doesn't sound right, but she doesn't have to, they can both sense it. Her friends calling him that no longer sounds quite as wrong.)
"Sleep tight, baby." (They all know, and Tommy is intentionally driving the point home, but he doesn't need to tell her; she knows. They both do.)
That's my niece, Ellie.
Oh, she's my brother's daughter.
Joel is her dad, idiot.
Must run in the Miller family.
Family, they all know, is way more than just shared DNA. It's the people you trust, who will keep you safe.
It's everyone you come home to at the end of a long, long day.
I hope you are having a good day. Could you write a platonic concept for Glamrock Freddy sharing reader with Glamrock Bonnie? I replayed Ruin and seeing Freddy's poster again made me think that those two friends (or more, if you want to see them that way) would be a great team and work together to keep the reader to themselves.
Yeah I can do that, was not entirely sure how to write Bonnie so I winged it.
Yandere! Platonic Glamrock Freddy + Bonnie Sharing a Darling
Pairing: Platonic - Sharing
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Stalking, Overprotective behavior, Kidnapping, Manipulation, Clingy behavior, Isolation, Forced companionship.
Tumblr media
There's no canon Glamrock Bonnie personality but I'm going to make a new version compared to my other one.
We can assume Bonnie is very caring as Eclipse's line was meant to be for him if I remember correctly.
As a result, both bots are very caring to guests and STAFF.
We can assume this whole concept took place before Monty breaking Bonnie and the missing kids.
Bonnie is probably a little arrogant but not as much as his other counterparts.
For the most part he'd probably be similar to Freddy.
Although I also imagine him as carefree and fun loving.
You are most likely close to the two as their mechanic like I do in most fics, or at the very least you work at the Pizzaplex somehow.
I think you're right to assume the two would share a darling.
They're best friends and nearly inseparable.
I can't imagine the two fighting so they'll have no big problems sharing.
You often visit Bonnie Bowl and the Main Stage to see the two.
Unbeknownst to you, you're their favorite.
The blue bunny and orange bear often meet up to speak about their best friend.
They see you as part of their duo now trio.
They only bond even more when they realize they have a shared connection with you.
I imagine they'd gush about you to each other and are very excited when you stop by.
The two are no doubt your biggest fans and hope you care for them too.
Of course these two are going to be a great team.
They both keep track of you and share information about you with each other.
You always have a pair of eyes on you as you work.
At this point they know what you bring to lunch, where you frequent, what you like… they have a lot more information than they should.
As your friends… they have to learn everything, right?
That's what they tell each other as they pry into your personal life.
Obviously you'll notice you see the two everywhere.
They are the bots you see most often.
I imagine they'd both act as parental friends or dads at times with you.
They have to watch you for overworking, right?
Oh! Can't have you getting hurt, either.
Care for an ice cream? You can hang out with them at Bonnie Bowl!
You try not to feed into their behavior as you don't want to be fired for slacking off.
Such information makes the two upset.
Their friend can be taken away from them that easily?
Hm… that won't do.
They definitely act like robot caretakers at times.
If you express any emotions that aren't normal or have any injury, one of them is checking in.
Bonnie will have you follow him to Bonnie Bowl for a couple of games.
Freddy's checking you over and even passing you a plush toy.
It's nice they care but they make it difficult to get them to do their job.
The STAFF members keep giving weird looks.
Honestly, if you ever felt like quitting or were told you were being fired, you'd end up disappearing.
Why? Well, your two “friends” ended up taking you away.
Oh, they never liked the other STAFF around you anyways.
They also didn't appreciate you ignoring them.
There's no need to worry! They'd never hurt you.
So there's no need to look so scared as they stare down at you from the darkness.
They made a little room for you in the maintenance tunnels.
They'll feed you, care for you, and be your best friends!
Don't leave your little room… they made it just for you!
They filled it with merch of themselves, there's an old arcade machine, a collection of blankets and pillows to be your bed….
They couldn't just let you leave!
Now you won't have to…
With them… you'll have endless fun!
So please… stop crying… give them a smile!
Do you think John ever used to hit Sam and Dean? If so do you think he hit one of specifically or do you think he hit the both of them?
I don't think there's any solid evidence that John hit Sam and Dean. Some people do believe he did at least a few times (maybe when he was drinking—see: 7.03). I can't think of anything that I believe would 100% confirm John hit either of them.
I can think of three episodes that might imply Dean was occasionally physically abused by John:
1.14 "Nightmare": Dean's "All things considered". Haunting little set of screencaps.
5.16 "Dark Side of the Moon": This one is mainly down to jacting joices. When the brothers enter Sam's memory of running away to Flagstaff, Dean gets upset as Sam's lack of memory of the ramifications. Dean says "Well, you don’t remember, do you? You ran away on my watch. I looked everywhere for you. I thought you were dead. And when Dad came home…" The look Dean gives on that last line tends to stick with people.
9.07 "Bad Boys": In the scene where Dean and Sonny first meet, Dean has finger-shaped bruises all over his wrists. Sonny first asks if the deputy harmed Dean, then asks if it was John. Dean says it was a werewolf, but that story doesn't necessarily make sense either.
Another suggestive hint comes from young Sam in 7.03 "Girl Next Door":
YOUNG AMY Yeah, well, she [my mom] has a temper. Sometimes. It's... no big deal. YOUNG SAM My dad does, too. You don't want to see him when he's drinking.
Sam doesn't necessarily understand the implication of physical abuse in this scene, but he later finds out that Amy's mother is physically abusive toward Amy. We also knew that John had a drinking problem long prior to 7.03. Sam in particular resents this to the point of making several references to John's excessive drinking in 1.01 inside his apartment building. He says John's probably just "Working overtime on a Miller Time shift", then tells Jess that John's probably somewhere with "Jim, Jack, and Jose” (these are all brands of alcohol for anyone unfamiliar).
While 7.03 seems potentially damning, Sam explicitly denies that John physically abused him in 1.14 "Nightmare". When confronted with Max's extensive physical abuse, he ends the episode being thankful that they had John instead of some other dad who might not have coped as well:
Well, it coulda gone a whole other way after Mom. A little more tequila and a little less demon hunting and we woulda had Max's childhood. All things considered, we turned out ok. Thanks to him.
One might also consider how Sam responds to hearing about abusive relationships in 1.14 and 2.17 with Max and Madison respectively. He asks Max why he didn't just leave when the abuse continued into his adulthood, and suggests that he doesn't see Madison as the type to be caught up in an abusive relationship (questions that do make one wince, yeah...)
My own thinking is the following: I don't think there's anything wrong with exploring the idea that physical abuse did occur. I think John's well-documented neglect is enough child abuse for me personally. I think 1.14 probably rules out John hitting Sam (but one could argue otherwise). I think some incidents can be used to suit the narrative that John hit Dean, but I don't find any of the hints we're given are concrete proof of physical abuse.
1.14's "All things considered" line might be interpreted as a convincing suggestion that Dean suffered physical abuse, but it also might just represent Dean slowly trading places with Sam over the season as the John Defender, as he becomes more and more angry with their father (especially considering 1.14 comes after both of Dean's pleas for help went unanswered in 1.09 and 1.12, and 1.11 where he says he wishes he could stand up to John).
5.16 comes down to a look that, at the end of the day, could be interpreted a multitude of ways (and if I think about it... it seems to me that words would haunt Dean more at that point in his life than fists).
It seems to me that 9.07 might actually rule out John being responsible for Dean's injuries. John had been gone on a hunt when Dean got caught for stealing, leaving Sam and Dean behind at a motel. John had been gone long enough for Dean to risk gambling to try and get more cash. This suggests John had been gone for a while, meaning Dean and John probably hadn't been in the same room for a while. This also means I'm not sure if I buy Dean's story about a werewolf though (John was on a Rugaru hunt. Dean wasn't with him).
God, you couldn't imagine a worse situation than this — being stuck in the limo with Patrick Bateman after he discovered your little secret about your virginity. Panicking from the lack of oxygen, you looked down at his deadly grip on your wrist, your brain overloaded with thoughts of a possible escape route.
"Patrick, I should go," you tried to release his grip when you noticed that the car had stopped, but he kept holding you tight. "My Dad is waiting for me!"
"Your father can wait a little longer," he demanded, pulling you a little closer, forcing you to raise your shy eyes to him. "Tomorrow we'll have dinner and talk about...this whole thing."
From the raspy sound of his voice, it was obvious that Bateman was doing his best to save what was left of his self-control, his skin burning yours with its heat.
"And what if I say 'no'?" You snapped at his cheeky way of speaking.
With a soft chuckle, he let go of your wrist and grinned as he saw you rubbing the spot where he was holding you a moment ago. "You don't want to upset your Dad, do you?" When Patrick met your confused gaze, the corners of his lips turned up. "I mean, the last thing you want is for your dear father to find out about all the nasty things you did…with me."
Your nostrils flared with anger, but you tried to play it cool. "What? Are you really trying to blackmail me?"
"No," Bateman grinned at your irritated stare. "Just a little reminder not to try to play games with me. It's pointless anyway."
Uh yeah, sure. We'll see who laughs last.
Saying nothing in return, you looked at him one last time before opening the car door and getting out.
"I'll pick you up at six. Wear something nice...something that hides your tattoos." Patrick ordered through the half-open window, the wide, smug smile never leaving his face.
The urge to turn around and show him your middle finger was so damn high, but as you faced the facade of your house, the memories of your father occupied your mind and stopped you at the very last moment.
"I don't have any of those clothes you're talking about," you simply replied, spinning around and crossing your hands over your chest. "Because I—"
"That's not a problem, babydoll. We can buy you some fabulous dresses or skirts," his brown eyes traveled over your body like a scanner, making you feel completely naked, you even shrugged off the shiver. "By the way, does your father forbid you to wear skirts or dresses because he knows someone would kidnap you? You have such pretty legs."
You closed your eyes and counted to ten to calm yourself. "I love my jeans, and pants are just much more comfortable for me!" Your voice trembled with embarrassment and anger. "If all the girls around you look like sluts in their skimpy dresses, that doesn't mean I have to! Jesus, why am I even trying to justify myself?!"
Your little tantrum only made him chuckle in pure satisfaction. "I have no idea why, but I like it," his arrogant smirk made you sick. After checking his Rolex nonchalantly, Bateman added, "See you tomorrow, (y/n). And tell your father that my old man has approved those investments we talked about a week ago."
Wait, what?
Now it was your turn to try to stop him, but just as the last word fell from his lips, the limo pulled away, leaving you with an unspoken question stuck in your throat like a lump.
Tumblr media
The air of your house greeted you with a sharp smell of smoke, signaling that your father was home and not in a good mood — he had taken up smoking since your mother died, and now you knew pretty well that when he was feeling down only a cigarette could bring him some relief.
Walking slowly through the halls of your not-so-luxurious but spacious house, you found your Dad sitting in the living room with a glass of his favorite whiskey and a pack of cigarettes that he twirled nervously in his hand.
"Hey, Dad," you called out quietly, halting in the doorway — the strange pangs of guilty causing your heart to pound painfully against your chest. "Are you okay?"
"Oh, I didn't hear you coming," he turned to you, his wrinkled face lighting up the moment he saw your apprehensive expression. "I'm fine...just had a busy day," he put the cigarette in the ashtray and got up from his comfortable armchair. "How did you make it home?"
His sudden question caught you off guard, as your father didn't usually ask such things. Frowning, you stepped into the living room and looked at his tired face — he seemed to have aged even faster in the last few months, when his business had stopped being as profitable as it used to be.
"I'm fine, thanks," you carefully took a seat on the couch next to him, noticing that the bottle of whiskey on the coffee table was half empty. "Dad, can I ask you something?"
"Of course, my dear," your father smiled at you and poured himself another glass of alcohol before sitting back down in his armchair. "What is it?"
"Did you really ask Pat—" you stammered and coughed a little. "I mean, did you really ask Mr. Bateman to pick me up after work?"
Right after you asked, you tried to catch a glimpse of your father's reaction, to notice any strange expressions or anything that might discredit him, but to your surprise, your father just gave you a sympathetic grin, sipping his drink and looking at you adoringly.
"Maybe I did..." he tilted his head thoughtfully. "...or maybe I didn't. Forgive me for my bad memory, it gets worse every day."
Sighing, you couldn't help but smile at his words, as your father was always the one who could warm your heart just by saying a few simple words.
"All right, all right," you paused, rubbing your tense temples. "He asked me to inform you that the investments you discussed some time ago have been approved and..." as you noticed your father's face changing so quickly, you had to pause for a second. "...is it something important?"
Your father took a quick drag on a cigarette, blowing a few rings of smoke to the side to keep them away from you. "Did he really say that?"
"Yes," you fidgeted nervously in your seat, seeing your Dad's reaction. "Yes, he did."
"That's...that's one of the best pieces of news I've had in a long time," your father stood up again, looking for something. "I need to make a call..."
Nodding, you decided that now was not the best time to ask more questions, so you just decided to leave and go to your room, but as soon as you strolled away, you heard your father's enthusiastic voice again:
"(Y/n), wait," he stopped beside you, holding a phone in his slightly shaking hand. "I know I've always been too strict when it comes to you, but I've always tried to give you as much love and care as I could...since your mother..." His words cut right through your heart, and you even had to grit your teeth from the itchy tears that welled up in your eyes.
"Father, please...let's not talk about it." You interrupted him, not wanting to open up your old wounds.
"Uh, I'm sorry. I just wanted to tell you that...Patrick Bateman seems like a good man," you almost lost your sense of orientation in this room at his sudden statement. "I haven't allowed you to hang out with boys much, but you can get to know him better since he's been asking about you a lot."
Fuck, you couldn’t believe it.
First, Bateman had his eyes on you. Then he tried to seduce you, break you and make you forget your morals, and he fucking succeeded, because in the end Patrick managed to get his hands on you, and now his farther suddenly approved the budget for your Dad's business. Was this just a coincidence or another way to manipulate you?
"Well, you tried to protect me from...everything and everyone, I can't judge you..." you murmured as you reached the door. "You always want the best for me, so... I promise I'll think about it."
With that, you closed the door behind you, leaving your father alone in the living room. A wild cocktail of emotions swirled in your chest, as if you had drunk something extremely hot — you wanted to laugh, to cry, to scream. How on Earth did that happen? That your own father was directly encouraging you to get close with Patrick Bateman? Was that someone's bad joke?
As soon as you got to your room, you opened the closet, looking for some "fabulous" dress Patrick wanted you to wear.
"Fucking narcissistic idiot," you cursed aloud as you flipped through your clothes, getting more and more annoyed by the second. "Why do I even care what he thinks about my appearance?"
You exhaled tiredly and hid your face in your hands, feeling the strong shudder in every inch of your fragile frame. This man, damn it, this man was a devil himself, and your father just called him 'a good guy'.
Unbelievable.
"All right, I have to pull myself together." You moved quickly to the mirror, breathing steadily and rubbing your cheeks. "I'll do it for Dad, I'll figure it all out."
Winking at your reflection, you returned to your search for a suitable dress, not realizing that it was getting late.
Tumblr media
The next day started with a heavy rain which woke you up with its sound, so loud that you couldn't fall asleep again. So, you decided to get up earlier and write a bit before your work.
Your father was already gone when you got downstairs — the memories of your earlier conversation were still running through your mind, leaving a bitter aftertaste. As you made yourself a cup of coffee with your favorite organic milk, you couldn't stop thinking about what might happen tonight — the unknown made you feel a little nauseous, but the breathing exercises your mother taught you always helped you in such moments. Uh, what would your mom say to you if she were here, if she knew the situation you were in?
Would Patrick be able to enchant her so easily?
The workday went by so quickly that you didn't even realize you were rushing back home in the taxi. During the ride, you tried to distract yourself with your poems, some of which you had written during the break at the café where you had been with Patrick the day before. After many attempts, you noticed that whenever you tried to describe the feelings Patrick evoked in you, it seemed as if your mind was losing touch with reality. The pen he gifted you was burning your skin as if it were some cursed relic, but yet this phantom pain was something you probably missed in your life, it didn't feel like grief or sorrow — it was something completely new.
Tumblr media
Even though you were not a huge fan of Manhattan, you couldn't deny the fact that it looked absolutely breathtaking at night, with all its lights, mesmerizing atmosphere, and soaring skyscrapers that made your head spin whenever you looked at them.
There was no doubt that the restaurant Bateman was taking you to would be exquisite and luxurious, so when you entered the establishment, you were not surprised that most people were paying attention to your persona, as you had no jewels, no beaded clutch — just your modest but tight black dress, which was one of your shortest. The maître d' escorted you to your table, and from that moment on, the game began between you and Mr. Bateman, although your conversation didn't flow at first.
"So, do you like this place?" Patrick asked a little indifferently after swirling his drink — J&B Whiskey, that seemed to be his favorite.
"Mmm, yeah, it's pretty good." You replied, avoiding his gaze and staring at the napkin on the table that you were nervously crumpling.
Bateman couldn't help but chuckle, shaking his head in disbelief. "Pretty good?"
"What's wrong with it?"
"Uh," he sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose briefly. "Do you even know what this place is?"
Finally, you left a poor napkin alone and looked up at him. "This is Dorsia, right? I saw a sign outside."
For a moment his face remained blank, but the next moment a deep, prominent line appeared between his knitted brows.
"Yeah, this is fucking Dorsia," he spat out his words and took a sip of his whiskey. "Nothing special."
Actually, his suddenly confronting tone was embarrassing. "Well...I'm not a frequent guest in these chic restaurants. Come on, you know that."
Unfortunately for you, your voice sounded more sad than irritated, and Bateman didn't miss it. His warm palm touched yours gently, but he didn't dare to look at you.
"Huh," he mused, drawing an invisible line across the back of your hand with his soft fingertip. "It's pretty hard to impress a girl like you, since you just don't understand—"
"The taste of luxurious life?" You cut him off, causing him to raise his brown walnut eyes to your face. They looked so mysterious in the dim light of the restaurant hall.
Patrick pulled his hand away as if struck by the electric shock, clenching his jaw in tension, and this sight was something you never thought you would have to witness.
In a few minutes of awkward silence, the waiter brought your food, and since you refused to take any alcohol, you asked him to give you a dessert menu — maybe something sweet would cheer you up and help you get through this strange dinner that was hard to identify as a date or whatever it might be.
"We have amazing cheesecakes, good choice." The waiter replied as you handed the menu back to him.
"Thank you," you made yourself comfortable in your seat and gave Patrick a warm smile, which left him a bit confused. "I need something to compare with the desserts I've had in my favorite café."
Although you hadn't intended it to be a joke, you weren't irritated at all when you heard his soft chuckle for the first time during dinner. "Just don't tell anyone about this," he crossed his arms and looked at you with a mischievous grin. "I don't want the local chefs to end their lives."
"Oh, God," you laughed, looking at his drink. "Why do you all have to drink whiskey? My Dad can't work without a bottle of his favorite drink next to him," as soon as Bateman heard about your Dad, he straightened up in his seat and fixed his Rolex. "Speaking of him...can I ask you a question?"
"You can try, babydoll." Bateman sneered in a mischievous voice and looked around quickly as if he noticed someone familiar.
"I want to know about the investments—"
"Hey, Halberstram!" An unknown male voice echoed from behind you, shamelessly interrupting your conversation. "Haven't seen you for a while, how have you been?"
A handsome man with light brown hair — wearing a stylish suit that was one hundred percent overpriced — came closer to your table and offered Patrick a handshake, which he accepted, but you couldn't help but notice a glint of anger in his hazel eyes.
"Allen," Bateman shook his hand and then quickly glanced at a woman next to him. "I didn't expect to see you here, I heard you were on vacation in Paris."
"Well, Meredith didn't really like it, so we decided to come back a little earlier," Paul replied, pulling a beautiful blonde girl closer to him. "I thought Halloween was over." Allen chuckled and pointed at you, making you palpably uncomfortable. "Nice manicure, so gothic."
Frowning, you checked your black manicured nails and then looked up at him, suppressing your inner battle to tell him to fuck off. "Thanks." You replied coldly and noticed Patrick clenching his fists in tension.
"And where's Veronica, Marcus? That big-titted chick you were hanging out with at the last yacht party?" Allen asked, continuing to stare at you with undisguised interest.
What the hell was going on? Why did he call him Marcus?
"Veronica?" Bateman interjected, pretending to try to remember. "She's probably with her family in South Hampton."
"Oh, and who is this punk girl?" Paul's question made your nails claw at the soft skin of your knee.
Patrick closed his eyes for a second, definitely trying to find the best answer. It was obvious that a man like him didn't want to ruin his reputation, since you were not a person from his circle. This seemed to be a dead end until an unexpected idea came to your mind.
"I'm a journalist," you explained in a confident voice. "And I'm interviewing...Mr. Halberstram because I'm writing a book about Wall Street."
"Wow," Paul seemed to be surprised. "That's...pretty impressive."
"Yeah," Bateman cleared his throat and unclenched his fists. "She's one of the best journalists in New York, and she wants to write a book, too."
Oh my God, please shut up!
"It's pretty impressive that you were allowed to come here," Meredith suddenly blurted out, giving you a disgusted look. "There's a dress code, you know?"
"I'll leave you for a while, since you have things to discuss." You fumed and got up from the table — Patrick didn't even try to stop you.
Tumblr media
In a few minutes, you found your way to the outdoor terrace on the upper level. As you stepped in, you noticed another blonde woman — she looked gorgeous, with her elegant, red-manicured fingers wrapped around the burning cigarette.
"Um, excuse me," you approached her from behind. "Could you pass me a cigarette, please?"
As soon as she turned around, you could see her sad blue eyes, cold as ice. "Sure."
Carefully, she reached into her black clutch to find a pack of cigarettes and offered you one.
"Thank you." You smiled after she lit your cigarette.
"No problem," she grinned back, looking away to see the lights of New York city. "It's so beautiful here, isn't it? I wish he could be with me right now."
Her question left you speechless, because you didn't know how to react, but just as you were about to say something, you heard the door open and the unknown man with the red hair joined you on the terrace.
"Courtney, you're here. I was looking for you," he chirped with an affectionate intonation. "The cocktails are ready."
Unlike the guy, the woman — that apparently was named Courtney — didn't seem happy, you would even say she was getting sadder — her previous words puzzled you, because now it was obvious she was talking about someone else.
With the last puff of smoke, Courtney took a quick glance at the night city and turned to you. "Take care."
Even a few moments after they left, you could still feel the wisp of sharp sadness in the air. Shivering with cold, you came closer to the railing, looked down and smoked, the signals of passing cars distracting you a bit from your train of thought — that fucking snobbish bitch and her supposed boyfriend pissed you off completely and you didn't really want to come back. Her behavior reminded you of why you hated yuppies, Wall Street, money, luxury. You hated it all, while your father tried his best to give you such a life so you could turn into a heartless ghost with no emotions except greed and...disgust?
A sudden touch of soft, warm fabric made you almost flinch. "Are you trying to catch a cold?" A familiar voice asked, and a jacket was wrapped around your trembling shoulders.
No way that could be him. "Patrick?"
The next moment, the owner of the familiar voice — which was indeed Patrick — deftly snatched the cigarette out of your mouth, eliciting an irritated groan from your chest. "You don't need this, believe me."
As you turned around, you watched him puff on your cigarette, but when he blew out a few rings, his face cringed in disgust. "Jesus, this is some girlish shit." Patrick ranted and quickly put out the cigarette.
"What are you doing here?" You crossed your arms in a defensive gesture and stepped away from him.
Patrick chuckled softly, your eyes accidentally glancing around his broad chest and the fashionable suspenders that looked so good on him.
"You could have just told me that you wanted to suffer alone on the terrace like a crybaby. Then I wouldn't have had to look for you all over the fucking restaurant." His voice became slightly stern as a sign of the high level of irritation — his patience seemed about to snap.
"I didn't ask you to come after me," you retorted, but didn't take off his jacket because it was so warm and nice. "Besides, what the hell was that? Why did that guy call you Marcus? Is that your real name? God, maybe you're a fucking scammer trying to deceive my father?"
His loud laugh echoed in the fresh air, Bateman couldn't help but applaud because your theory was fantastic. "That...that was hilarious, babydoll," he theatrically wiped away a few tears and came closer. "We stopped at your question about your father, as I recall."
"You know what?" you suddenly charged at him, almost bumping into his solid torso. "You should have hired several hookers instead of taking me to this useless dinner. At least it would have been a lot cheaper!"
"What?" He asked, still giggling as if you had told him another joke.
"My father has been waiting almost a year for some extra funding," you started, shortening the distance between you to a mere inches. "And just like in fairy tales, the necessary investments were approved as soon as you got your hands on me. What a great coincidence, don't you think?"
Patrick hummed to himself, hiding his hands in the pockets of his pants. "Go on."
"You won't get it," your voice wavered, as if your nature refused to utter the words. "I know that rich guys like you can buy anything and everything — houses, cars, yachts, corporations, girls..." the more you spoke, the darker Bateman's eyes became. "Girls of all body types, ages, virgins or not, and so on. But for me — money is nothing, and I won't do it even for my father".
"You're done?" Patrick asked, pressing a finger to his lips and looking at you with an unreadable expression. When you nodded, he took you by the chin and tilted your head to the side, his thumb brushing against your lower lip as if by accident. "Now, listen to me, babydoll. I invited you to dinner because I wanted to apologize...for the things that happened between us..." your heart skipped a beat at his last words and your legs went weak, but you stood still, looking straight into his dark hypnotizing eyes. "I must say, you're a really cute, sweet girl, pretty even," he smirked as you shivered from his finger sliding down your neck. "But I don't want to be a babysitter."
"W-what?" You gasped, your voice barely audible as your breath hitched from the hard lump in your throat.
"(Y/n), listen, your father's business can be profitable enough, that's the only reason my Dad and I decided to finance it," Bateman removed his hand and stepped aside. "The long wait was caused by bureaucratic processes and my old man being away on business all the time."
There were no words to explain the feelings you were experiencing — frustration, deception, embarrassment?
"I…I understand," you bit your lower lip to keep the tears from forming in your dejected eyes. "Thank you for telling me the truth."
Just as you were about to take off his jacket, Patrick stopped you and after a small hug, he added: "Unfortunately, I don't like messing around with little girls because I'm pretty demanding when it comes to sex.” His arrogant grin was about to become the last straw of your self-control, but you kept fighting. "Let's go back to our table, your dessert must be waiting for you."
With a quick flick of your hand, you wiped away any traces of your tears when he didn't look at you. "I'm not hungry. Go, I'll join you soon."
Bateman gave you a worried look, then glanced at the railing and shook his head. "No, we'll come together, I'm responsible for you tonight and I don't want your father to be nervous."
How fucking cute.
