The way I love a spin-off paranormal/urban fantasy series of a more popular paranormal/urban fantasy series that’s set after the events of the first series with different characters and the female protagonist only featured in the last book or last couple of books of the original series but developed a friendship with the female lead of the og series in them, and the spin off is set in California where there’s a murder mystery going on and the main couple is a blonde girl with brown eyes and a brunette boy with green eyes who paints, and their love is forbidden because of the fantastical government which the storyline/themes are extremely critical of and also there’s familial/psuedo-familial drama and exploration of parts of the magical lore of the world the og series didn’t get into as much (witchcraft/alchemy for bl faeries for tda).

Can't forget being scared of werewolves, unless they're not, then they stop to cheer and clap every time they see one. From one extreme to another. Don't get me wrong I still love them but I just call them dumb puppies for how impotent their intimidation is lmao. Seriously vampires are like, weird. I also learned that they can't die of thirst in this game?? They sure can in 3, I had it happen a lot. But when I had Alex and Jack as vampires, it changed very little aside from them doing bad in the sun, terrible for Alex's occupation at home. I watched them seemingly attempt to stave off thirst by drinking alcohol, which does absolutely nothing for them, before eventually picking a target to drink from. It didn't matter if no one was around, they wouldn't starve or anything. I figured it was dumb luck but NOPE, they're more likely to die in the fucking sun than by not drinking blood. Can't die of dehydration as mermaid either unlike in 3, which is perhaps for the best as I swear they both lose hydration fucking constantly and don't like to shower or bath unless it's to splash around, and roaming around Oasis Springs for fucking rocks is making Jack perpetually smell like a fish market. I so often forget Aliens are even a thing as they're so, nothing, they don't even utilize their few unique abilities much, unless it's memory wipes. Oh boy, fun. Most fun I get from all occults is making their designs in CAS lmao. I kind of regret curing Alex and Jack of lycanthropy as I liked how I designed their werewolf forms. Oh well, there's always another time. They'll still just kind of be weird hyper puppies tho. I don't know my point here. I like occults a lot, but I rely a lot on mods to make them more interested and just their design philosophies. I probably actually like Spellcasters the most despite not looking different, just because magic is fun and they're not a liability or anything and hybridize well with other occults without really any issue due to not having alt forms. Tho the ones who teleport tend to piss me off just as I can't keep track of where they are.

Pretty sure the only reason vampires can die at all is if their magic source or life source or whatever runs out

That is a good point, never thought of that before. Wyll is one of my favs and its true, a lot of the content with him is of him and another character, mostly Astarion.

there is nothing inherently wrong with the ship, but it is an issue when people only ever talk about wyll in context of him being shipped with astarion. and not just astarion, but astarion is the only character i really see him shipped with on the regular and in this way - i know of quite a few wyll x gale enjoyers but those people also appreciate wyll on his own from what i've seen (and obviously i haven't seen everything). but there seems to be an issue where people who dedicate so much of their time on here to astarion never seem to care about the characters they ship him with, only how astarion functions in the ship (usually reduced to Hot Vampire tropes and sex). while i don't care if people do this (i might not like it but i can simply remove it from my dashboard with filters), the issue comes into play with wyll.

wyll is the only black main character, has several hours less of content than the others, less romance content than the others, and his quest is also notoriously lacking and buggy. he deserves people to give him the love and attention larian clearly didn't, and i don't care for bootlickers so no one say shit defending larian please or i'll block you, and that certainly doesn't come in the form of pairing him with astarion just so he can be an attractive prop for astarion to suck the neck of without any, or very little, care to his own character and complexities. wyll deserves to be more than just the prince charming that saves/fixes astarion. he deserves way more than that. and theo deserves way more than his character being reduced to that.

i will never stop recomending this sorely underrated fic, i just adore it so much !! its a dark comedy guardian angel au (with a backdrop of bdsm - check the tags for more info on that) and will make you cry and laugh all at once :) its really great in its portrayal of a non-linear recovery, and quite inspiring with a soft and happy ending

all of edy's works are so atmospheric and immersive, every single one is amazing!! most of their fics have this dark undertone that is more often than not tied to a happy and soft ending (this fic is one of those) which i really enjoy! this one is inspired by the choker mv (ily choker), and deals with trans love, and tentative recovery (check the tags, as some topics mayy be triggering for some)
