People really underestimate the power of just telling someone you like them. romantically obviously but hell even just platonically too. You can admit you enjoy peoples presence it doesn’t have to be mind games it’s okay to just be sincere and true with your thoughts and intentions btw

TIL my high school has a Wikipedia page (I learned this via my sister telling me she was watching WWE and did I know one of the champions went to my* high school? No, I did not, but now I have more questions.) This surprised me as my graduating class had fewer than 70 people, and so I ask you:

Ok not only this but sometimes when people mess around with canon genders and stuff it shows through too.

You can tell these people are putting a lot of their experiences into the characters, and might not make for the best read because of how OOC things can get but it always makes me happy bc you see how much fun they had writing it.

I like calling these kind of fics “homebaked” bc they’re always from the heart.

I love, love, LOVE it when I can tell a fic author has integrated their specialized knowledge in a fic. I was reading a fic that at some point included the character going to visit an art therapist, and it's so clear that the author is an art therapist themself, and the details included are just immaculate and I love it. I've previously read about a character doing fencing for no other reason than the author clearly wanting to write a sport they understood. A character being given a hyperfixation on bugs just so the author can infodump themselves.

I eat it up every time, it brings such a smile to my face

I’ve haven’t had a sandwich in like, ten years. But I understand, it’s like the stars have aligned so you can experience true music, to let it wash over you- all consuming. The music you like is typically tied to your memories which means if you’re able to get that experience (of listening and everything clicks), you’ll probably be transported to one of the most emotional events in your life. Everything from a rough break up to a first kiss, from that time you and your sibling snuck of to steal candy from the jar giggling like maniacs but your parents didn’t care to when you can hear everyone arguing through the door and don’t know how to fix it, from home baked cookies with Christmas in the air to a falling out over a heated discussion at thanksgiving, from a time in highschool where you and your friends were just dicking around without a care to having a panic attack in the hallway about a test that wouldn’t matter in the long run, from when you and the person you were closest to drift apart to when you reunite. And feel everything you felt then, like a shard of your past cutting you and making you bleed out it’s beautiful melody.

listening to music with headphones is so awesome especially when it shoots straight into your brain and you can pick out all its little layers like sandwich ingredients

reveal of my gordon hlvrai costume project, now that about half of it is done! this is cardstock and glue and tape and more glue and paint and velcro. and 2 gloves (one hand-sewn)

i got started sometime in early-mid fall, but i committed to making it work with cardstock in january- it was originally meant to be a sizing test before construction with eva foam over the summer. then i realized how expensive thatd be, too much pressure for a form of craft ive never practiced. im pretty amazed with how its come together, even with the large seams! during that whole time when it was unpainted (started painting two weeks ago) there was no way to tell

caterina's datamined character description calling her korean-italian and early lucanis designs having him look east asian . i'll just do everything myself i guess

assorted thoughts: caterina is fully 'korean' or whatever the thedas equivalent would be in this design, and clawed her way to the top of the crow food chain after years of work. their armor is something caterina forcibly incorporated to distinguish house dellamorte from the other crows, and a symbol of their status because they get it custom made or imported. of course race-equivalents do not really exist in thedas or this world but i also will never forget how gaider just implied (east) asian people don't exist in thedas because it just so happens that there are no asians on the continent of thedas (guy who forgot about boats) . explode and die. there's not the same kind of discrimination as exists irl ofc (and the dellamortes are actually treated fine, much better than a mage or elf) but a level of xenophobia against foreigners from a different continent. illario looks the least like her, and passes for being fully antivan, which changes how he is recieved by the other crows.
