You know, now I really do want Morph and Iceman to date on X-Men 97. Because as much as I love the Morph/Wolverine pairing, realistically it is NEVER going to happen, unless maybe Morph winds up with an AU Logan (like the bisexual AU Wolverine that dated Hercules in the comics), and even that seems unlikely.

Iceman has already been established in TAS as one of the original X-Men who clashed a lot with Cyclops and eventually left the team to be with Polaris - then Lorna disappeared to join X-Factor and left Bobby for Havok. Bobby was portrayed as straight in the cartoon because he was still supposedly "straight" in the comics at that time. There's a strong chance that Iceman will get recruited to the team next season, with the main team largely missing and presumed dead - a perfect chance for an Iceman coming-out story.

Iceman/Morph could also be a kind of rewrite of the Cloud story in Defenders - Bobby was romantically interested in Cloud, a gender-fluid person (who I think was actually revealed to be a sentient nebula?) who could freely shift genders back and forth. I haven't read the Cloud story, so more knowledgeable people can correct me on the details, but I think at the time Bobby was interested in Cloud's female form and somewhat uncomfortable with their male form (because Bobby was supposedly "straight"), but that you could also interpret this as Bobby being in denial. Like I'm sure there's plenty of subtext to be found there.

So in X-Men 97 when the team is reunited Bobby finds himself getting along really well with Morph, they are vibing on the same wavelength, and this leads into little jokes like "You know I'd totally date you if you were a girl, ha ha," "Well, I CAN be a girl, ha ha" and Bobby becoming increasingly aware that he is actually attracted to Morph's more masculine form. Eventually they would get to banging, but it would be a dramatic mess, because both Morph and Iceman are walking disasters who use jokes to avoid talking about their feelings. Not to mention they are both sort of on the rebound from an ex or unrequited crush. (I can picture scenes where the two of them are making jokes to each other that get increasingly barbed, and the whole team is getting uncomfortable). Maybe Jean stages an intervention, not in a "Bobby, you're gay" way, but like "Obviously you two have some feelings for each other beyond friendship, you don't have to be a telepath to see that, maybe you should just explore those feelings without worrying about what is or isn't 'socially acceptable,' no one here is going to judge you." Or maybe Wolverine just steps in bluntly with "Hey, you two obviously wanna fuck, just do it already."

I mean, ideally I'd like Morph to move on from Wolverine pining with some kind of easy, idealized relationship, someone who immediately loves Morph just for who they are - but I also love the drama of an Iceman/Morph disaster relationship that gradually settles into something that makes them both happy. Morph's obviously got their own issues to work out - trauma and PTSD aside, they can only confess their feelings to Wolverine in Jean's form while Wolverine is unconscious. So both Iceman and Morph would be figuring things out together.

(Also, they'd both team up to annoy the shit out of Cyclops, like the snarky remarks would be endless.)

How I'd Make The MCU: 2030's AVENGERS: ENDGAME ACT ONE

Sorry for the wait, on vacation.

Yeah breaking this up into four posts cause it's that long.

1. Movie opens with Thanos on his farm, enjoying retirement in solitude. THEN Thor, Captain Marvel, Human Torch, Nebula, and Bruce ambush him. Thor demands to know where the stones are, and Thanos responds, "Gone, reduced to atoms." He destroyed them to remove the temptation to use them further. Enraged, Thor chops off his head. 

2. 5 YEARS LATER: The Fantastic Four are slowly getting better after Fantastic No More, with Franklin now starting middle school, the mutant community is stable with Magneto as it's new leader, Iron Man is retired at a lake cabin with Pepper and his daughter Morgan Stark. Cap is still leading the Avengers in keeping the world together, Peter is still keeping himself and a now 5 year old Mayday afloat, Jan is still living with Hope at the Mansion (by now Hope would be 7). Hawkeye's gone full Ronen after Nat died (he really liked her cause in this timeline he had no family), Scott is just out there grateful Cassie's still alive, Thor is wallowing in his own guilt as King of a reduced Asgard, and Peter and Rocket are back in Missouri, crushing their grief over losing most of the Guardians in cheap beer while Nebula helps the Avengers, Banner is just doing his own thing, with the Hulk in his ear being a grump, and Captain Marvel is doing her best to keep the cosmos from falling apart. 

3. Doctor Doom comes to Reed Richards personally with a full Latverian procession. Reed is VERY skeptical, he's tried to kill them over three movies and suddenly he wants to help. But Doom explains he's genuine, because the Snap broke Latveria's social contract, and his position is as precarious as Reed's. Reed, thinking about Sue, decides to hear Doom out. 

4. Captain America, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Reed, Johnny, Ben, Bruce, Hawkeye, Scott Lang, Peter Quill, Rocket, Nebula, Magneto, Cyclops, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Rogue, and Storm are brought together by Doctor Doom to discuss his plan. Doom says if they can reclaim the Stones, they can reverse the last 5 years of suffering. How do they get objects that have already been destroyed? TIME TRAVEL. How do they time travel? Well they speak to the the one man who can feasibly show them how: KANG THE CONQUEROR. 

5. Somehow, Kang has just been in Station 42 this entire time imprisoned since the first Avengers movie. When Reed and Tony visit him to get his help, he just asks, "My Ravonna. You said you would cure her, anchor her to the timestream... where is she?" Reed responds they're getting close. "That is a lie. You are no closer to curing her as I was when I attempted to conquer this planet." Kang responds. Reed admits, they're nowhere near close, Stark snarkily estimates, "eh, 42%" "YOU DARE JEST ABOUT MY WIFE YOU OVEREVOLVED PRIMATE?!" Kang yells in rage. Reed asks him for his help in figuring out the chronal drive on Damocles base. Kang refuses, and so does Doom. Doom says this is not about Damocles, it is about Ravonna. According to Doom, Ravonna is in limbo, between existence in the 41st and 21st Century, at any moment if not kept stable, she could rubberband back to Kang's original time. Doom has analyzed all of Reed's data on her condition since she was put in his care after Kang's defeat, and has developed a formula that would not only stabilize her but allow him to recreate it in a controlled manner to seamlessly time travel, all they need is the ability to use Kang's technology on Damocles to make it actually work, which no earth scientist has managed to crack yet. Kang doesn't believe him, Doom is not backing down. Reed is thrilled, and surprised Doom would dedicate such resources to a project like this, and asks for the research. Doom accepts... on one condition... "I WANT YOU TO ADMIT I'M SMARTER THAN YOU AND THAT FANCY NOBEL PRIZE IS NOT YOUR RIGHTFUL AWARD."

There are plenty of Marvel groups who would/could share a bby. After all, many of them have known each other for years, and, as mentioned previously, some of they have died before, so they might decide to have a friend/partner/team share their bby to make sure they are okay if anything happens to one of the yanderes. Of course, each group has its own special members and dynamics, so they all have their separate ways of handling their obsession. Some of the groups are:

• The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (according to them. Sometimes break a city or two by accident. Working on not doing that. Co-workers who became family along the way. Along with their co-workers' friends and family, who probably get special privileges). Has members like Iron Man, Hawkeye, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor. Not to mention other characters who show up in one media or another, such as Bucky Barnes, The Falcon, Vision, and the Maximoff twins (those two are also sometimes, once again depending on the media being used/read/imagined, a part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants or the X-Men). This group is likely to have a bby who is a vigilante, or a kid trying to survive, yet still attempting to do the right thing.

• The X-Men: The Group Of Gifted People (born with the X-gene, and gifted with power. Run a school sometimes, sometimes a nation, for mutants. Have fought with the Avengers. Will fight them again. Found family right there. But they WILL argue over things, from time to time). This team has members like Professor Xavier, Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, and others, depending on the era, and once again, the media. They would probably have a mutant bby. Would not care what their bby's mutation is, would love them no matter what. Whether the kid/teen/young adult wants it or not.

• Guardians Of The Galaxy: Rowdy Space Crusaders With A Good Taste In Music (have been across the galaxy. Have met many people, have stolen from many people, have helped many people. Will accept anyone, no matter what they are. Red-necks of space). Here, you have the likes of Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax. Other members that join are Yondu, Mantis, Nebula, as well as Kraglin and Cosmo. They could end up obsessed with anyone, to be honest. A human, an alien, a god, a mutant, anyone.

I might add more groups in a future post, maybe villains, maybe more heroes, who knows! But, yeah, let's start with the three groups we hear about the most (and have had a long running in the MCU, with multiple movies and mentions, as well as animated series).

Heya folks! As some have shown interrest in my lil nebula cyclops again, I though I would share my rudimentary ancestry for pathfinder 2e of them! As of now they only have lvl 1 feats and I'm sure the document is full of spelling errors, but I hope to update them with more stuff when my life calms down a bit. I feel bad for Nebula because she's got the Wolverine dynamic going for her.

Wolverine's coolest superpower is his regeneration. But you can only show that off by mangling him much more horribly than you do the other characters. Cyclops gets thrown around and Jean gets punched in the face but Wolverine gets eviscerated in every other fight, so we can have cool scenes where his flesh knits back together.

Nebula's coolest power is her jerky auto-repair, where her bones suddenly straighten themselves and get her back into the fight. But like Wolverine, that means you can't show it off without constantly brutalizing her much more horribly than anyone else.

Her powerset necessitates that she get mangled. All the time. In every movie.

Regenerators are damage sponges. They attract grievous bodily harm that everyone else's plot armor would typically deflect.

Weak-Minded Bumpkin

The portal was complete. That night, Bill and his pals would gain dominion over earth and all its squishy inhabitants. New digs, new friends, new mortals to terrorize; it called for a reality-warping, sanity-blasting celebration. So that’s what Bill did. He cranked the music up, dished out the time punch, and flattened a star to serve as the dance floor. 

“Tonight, Mr. Brainiac opens the door to the greatest party in existence. That’s us, guys!” he said, and the Henchmaniacs cheered. “No more limits, no places we can’t go! Oh, it’ll be better than you could ever imagine!” 

Bill settled in his optical illusion throne, laughing, and conjured up a martini. “So to us! To our victory! To all the fun we’re gonna have!”

His friends raised their drinks in salute. With that, the party began in earnest. Pyronica and Xanthar started a wrestling match, surrounded by a ring of hollering spectators. Hectorgon and Amorphus Shape bullied Kryptos into polishing their corners. Paci-Fire was teaching the eyebats to line dance, and they actually looked pretty good. The gang was chatting, rampaging, having a blast. Everything was as it should be. 

Bill himself started to feel a bit hungry. When was the last time he’d eaten, a couple eons ago? He finished his drink and floated over to the snack table, where Teeth and 8-Ball were squabbling over the last piece of Mi-Go.

“Woah, guys, relax!” he called. “There’s plenty of that for everyone!” He summoned an enormous platter of Mi-Go skewers. 8-Ball immediately seized it and ran off, Teeth close behind. Bill rolled his eye. Those two. He returned his attention to the snack table. Nebula nachos, Teegeeack tentacles, cyclops eyes in chili sauce. At the center of the table, a squirming shoggoth caught his gaze. His eye salivated. Now that looked good. 

It wouldn’t fit in his primary eye-mouth. He’d have to remove his exoskeleton. A quick glance to see if anyone was watching–Pyronica was pummeling Xanthar, the eyebats were doing the Electric Slide, and everyone else was playing spin the Kryptos. Good, he had a little privacy.

Bill hooked his fingers into his eyelids and tugged them back to expose glistening teeth. He kept going, peeling his exoskeleton away from the mouth underneath. A secondary set of teeth and tongues spilled out. Okay, almost there. Joints popped as Bill forced his jaws wide open. His eye slid back into place and the transformation was complete.

Unnoticed, he sighed in relief. But as he moved to cram the shoggoth into his mouth, a blue glow manifested. Bill blinked. Fordsy was early. Hadn’t they agreed to start the portal at ten? This was kinda a bad moment. 

Suddenly, a human head appeared in the portal. Not Sixer, but Fiddleford, the weak-minded assistant. With wide eyes he took in the Henchmaniacs, the illusion throne, the swirling colors of the Nightmare Realm. Finally, his gaze settled on Bill, who had his exoskeleton down and his tongues hanging out, shoggoth in hand like a club sandwich. 

Bill gave Fiddleford a wave and gulped down his meal. Evidently, this was the wrong thing to do; eyes rolling back, the bumpkin began to shriek. What a buzzkill. The party had barely gotten started!

Still screaming, Specs disappeared back through the portal. The light faded into nothingness. Bill regarded the space it had occupied. Fordsy was bound to put two and two together, but it would be too late. The portal was active, the connection had been made. It was just a matter of time.

Still, it was embarrassing to be caught without an exoskeleton. Good thing Specs had a memory eraser.

As the guardian of dreams and the weaver of nightmares, Megara's duty was to balance the mindscape of every sentient being across the galaxy. Her domain was a colossal cerebral palace floating in a nebula of glowing psychic energy, its corridors and chambers pulsating with the collective subconscious of countless races.

One day, a mysterious anomaly appeared in the dreamscape—a void, black and consuming, threatening to engulf the vibrant creativity and turn it into nothingness. Alarmed by this unprecedented threat, Megara set forth on a quest to investigate the source of the void and seal it before it could unravel the very fabric of existence.

Her journey took her through surreal landscapes: oceans of liquid thoughts where ideas swam like fish, forests of towering aspirations, and mountains of crystallized memories. Along the way, Megara encountered various mind-creatures, some benign and others malevolent, all unique to the dreamscapes they inhabited.

The key to the anomaly lay in a legend, hidden deep within an ancient archive of forgotten dreams. It spoke of a crystal prism capable of refracting the core essence of thought, potentially enough to seal the void. This prism was guarded by the Cyclopes of Insight, one-eyed giants residing in a fortress of reflective obsidian at the edge of Hypnos.

After a journey fraught with challenges that tested her perception of reality, Megara reached the fortress. Using her immense psychic powers, she negotiated the labyrinth of illusions and confronted the Cyclopes. Recognizing her noble intent, they agreed to lend her the prism in exchange for a promise to return it upon the restoration of balance.

Armed with the prism, Megara approached the void. As she neared, her presence alone began to fill the emptiness with light and color, but it was not enough to close it entirely. Positioning the prism at the heart of the void, she focused her entire being through it, channeling a spectrum of psychic energy.

The prism magnified her power, refracting her essence across dimensions, sealing the void with a burst of brilliant light that resonated throughout all of Hypnos. The dreamscape was saved, and the balance was restored. As promised, Megara returned the prism to the Cyclopes and resumed her watch over the dreams, forever vigilant against the darkness that lurks in the depths of the mind.

Thus, the legend of Megara grew, a tale whispered in the sleeping ears of the universe, about the dragon who dreamt the world whole again.
