when i grow up

i want to be

an astronaut,

an author,

a magician

as a child, it was

easy to dream

of anything

a doctor,

a scientist,

a teacher

the world is vast

and full

of possibilities

now a grown woman,

my heart just wants

to be happy

but disappointingly,

happiness is elusive and

life is a sadist

that takes pleasure

in my agony

so in a world where

we can be anything

i became a masochist

In the camouflage

Of the innocent victim

Mastering the lost

Puppy look

The perfectly crafted words

To pull on heartstrings

But it was all an illusion

Like a carnivorous plant

Drawing in its pray

With misleading sweet scents

Every word that spilled

From your lips

Shined like sugar

But coated the tongue with salt

Slipping like sandpaper

Down the throat

Of the unsuspecting

I should have seen

Your true colors sooner

Like a poisonous snake

Colors flashing in your scales

I missed the warning

Too entranced by the beauty

Until it was too late

And your fangs sank in

Natures Masterpiece

It’s spring's soft embrace, so the cherry blossoms dance. Their petals like whispers, a gardens kiss, in sweet sigh of  romance. Pink you, and me white, like blossoms, our love unfurled in  graceful flight. A symphony of joy, bathed in daylight's light. Beneath the canopy of blooming trees, Two tickled hearts entwined, swept by a gentle breeze. With each delicate petal that falls, Echoes of passion, love's sweet calls. A promise sealed, a love story continued, petals flutter,  As they tenderly sway. Embracing the world in its gentle swirls. Vows capturing love's essence in their display. So let us linger 'neath this floral canopy, In the realm of cherry blossoms, I bud for you, A love eternal, forever entwined.

I could give you the shirt off my back

With my heart up wrapped inside

Because I don’t know how

To take it off my sleeve

I hope it keeps you warm

Because to be honest

My world couldn’t get any colder

Just don’t break my heart

I broke it once before

And it seemed like forever before it healed

Sometimes it feels

As though I need to protect it

But I realized I only hurt those close to me

Because defenses were too high

So here I am again

With my defenses lowered

Giving the shirt of my back

With my heart wrapped up in the sleeve

With no questions asked.

I just smiled at the fact that

I'd found her at last.

Blow me a kiss

And promise to miss me

When I leave

In your torment?

Fighting inside

Hurting someone else

I have this habit of falling in love with people’s potential

Overlooking the bad behaviors because

He could change

He could be great

But he won’t be - not with me at least

I see a sparkle in his eye

And paint a galaxy of stars

Write song lyrics using the one word he got right

Ignoring the cruelty that followed

Finding ways to blame myself after every conversation

Because at his best

He would never hurt me

I craft a life that will not exist for us

How confusing it is to look at him and see all he is missing

It’s always what we could be that haunts me

Sunday dinners, meeting the family, vacations, warmth and safety

The name calling that could be complements whispered in my ear

The tight grasp of my wrists that could be gentle hands around my waist

The angry voicemails that could be love notes

Because when he is not scary

It is magical

I host a funeral for the future we never had

How interesting it is to mourn something that never existed

Never be on the other side of a broken heart, because the curse given by the heart will surpass even the venomous words by the tongue..

Two Winter Sprites

A winters chill, skin cooling with the breeze of lips,

A pair entwine, sipping more muddled wine,

Barren and warm, in front of the vine.

Holly berries, a crimson delight,

As passion blooms, frosted meadows steam,

They stay warm, throughout the nymph of night.

Recovery

Even if you are broken,

you are shy of shattered,

'Worst', is what you feel about you,

'Better than them' ,what others,

Make your happiness absolute,

& misery relative,

See, now you'll never suffer.

Nobody walks away unscathed,

If its cold, you are gonna shiver,

Even if you forcefully erase the pain,

The phantom of scar still lingers..

Why would you subject yourself to this agony,

Just change your perspective,

Scar for others, for you a badge of honour..

A song of spring evening,

The illusion that you have moved on,

Love in the air leaves you all nostalgic,

Just think about the last leaf of autumn,

Concern will fade away,

You'll revel the abandon...
