I now want to write a Numb3rs fic. I'm currently doing a rewatch and am on S3 (not hit THAT episode yet), and now I'm suddenly wanting to write fic for it.
To be honest though, I actually had ideas to write fic for Numb3rs a couple of years ago, but maybe sorted of started something. WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT....I did actually write a sort of Numb3rs one shot. It's not my best work, but yeah, now I'm wanting to write for it again.
I know the fandom may be no more, I don't know, are people still watching and writing for this show. Oh well, I'm going to anyway.

not sure if anyone sent you a "would you" writers question, so here's a few! adjusts my fake glasses as i type
would you ever write for a ship you don't like?
would you ever just....write fluff. and no suffering. just like..one happy one shot or something.......
would you ever rewrite old stories? not saying you should but im asking in a genuinely curious way
feel free to not answer any!! :)
Nope, no “Would you…”-questions yet 😁 (So thank you for asking)
1. No, I wouldn’t. If I don’t feel a ship, then I won’t be able to create anything for them. My inspiration is my love or interest for a ship.
2. I would (and I already did lots of times in German fanfiction projects). Yes, I can write fluff (just look at my snippet about Scones’ first meeting “A dry uniform”)
3. If I feel the need to, yes, I would. I rewrote a Numb3rs-story of mine once, because the first version wasn’t emotional enough.

Lance Reddick: 1962-2023
I get that we call everyone who isn't maybe one of the 20 or 30 most famous actors on the planet a "character actor," and he was that--it would not be entirely unfair to describe him as "a character actor who played a lot of cops." But...Lance Reddick was just amazingly talented and seemed from the outside to be one of the good guys.
In saying "a character actor who played a lot of cops," it, to say the least, doesn't capture the whole of it. The Wire is my favorite television show and so I guess I would say he's best known as Daniels, who was mostly a man of few words, at least until more were necessary. I'm sure there is one, but I don't know that I've ever seen an actor play the mannerisms of a fictional character so far forward. And, while that sounds like an awful thing, the way Reddick did it was nothing short of brilliant.
But your frame of reference, given his career, could be entirely different. If you're a gamer, maybe you think of him more as Sylens or Commander Zavala. Both Bosch and Fringe share with The Wire the phenomenon of being underappreciated, at least in their own time (The Wire, obviously, has evolved into a thing, culturally, that it wasn't in its time). He also had that period where he spun on that reputation a little and did a bunch of comedic bits, including a legendary appearance on Eric Andre. And he did play a bunch of other cops, with appearances on L&O, CSI: Miami, Numb3rs...I think it must have been Oz where I first became aware of him, though he was also a cop in the episode In Excelsis Deo from The West Wing, which was, at least for a moment or two, regarded as one of the best hours of drama in television history (it's still very good, though I know some people think the show hasn't aged well and a lot of the people who are still on board would probably now go for Two Cathedrals, which came a couple years later).
And, of course, he's been a persistent presence in the John Wick movies. Just reading this bit from his interview with Vulture makes me like him and Keanu more than I probably should:
Speaking of Keanu, can you give us some insight into his personality?  I’m a journeyman character actor. And whenever I work with a big movie star for the first time, I keep my guard up to protect my work from an ego. And if there’s any big movie star who’s not that person, it’s Keanu. I remember my first scene that I shot with him — it’s the first scene you see us together in the first movie — he was struggling with the timing. I said, “Keanu do you want to do XYZ?” I don’t even remember what it was. And he kind of smiled and said, “No man, you just do your thing.” My experience with him after that continues to be one with someone who’s very generous as an actor and then all about the work. He’s also very shy. This is going to sound really weird, but — he seems simple, but spiritually he’s very advanced.
That makes perfect sense, actually.  He’s incredibly deep and insightful and thoughtful. But watching him in social situations, he can be like, “I can only take so much input from other people so don’t bother me.” Which is fine. He’s very shrewd. On one hand I feel like I don’t know him very well but on the other, I just adore that guy. He’s such a wonderful human being.
How has your friendship changed after four movies? We’ve gotten to know each other a little better. I hope I don’t get in trouble for telling this story: During John Wick: Chapter Four, my first day of filming happened to be Keanu’s birthday. But he wasn’t in the scene. He came to the set anyway at nine o’clock at night with his girlfriend who I had never met. And she is … can I say a bad word?
Go for it.  His girlfriend is cool as fuck. And she told me that she asked Keanu what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said, “I want to go see Lance.” He’d never done this before but he wrote me a note thanking me for what I brought to the character in these movies. And he wanted to give the note to me. I’ll never forget it. I’m going to cry now.
Even just opening Netflix last night, it was readily apparent that I wasn't the only one who wanted to go back and watch the man's work--I ended up opting for the first couple episodes of The Wire. So, to return to where I started, I understand that Reddick isn't Keanu-famous, but in the little world of my mind and the media I have liked over the years, his place in it is prominent enough to be that kind of superstar for me.

Ten characters, Ten fandoms, Ten tags
I was tagged by @virtie333 so let's give it a shot. This isn't necessarily a top 10 list, more just some things that are top of mind and a mix of mostly new properties with some older stuff.
Rey Skywalker - Star Wars (2015 - )
A tough choice because I love so many Star Wars characters, but I have to go with my girl. ❤️
Tumblr media
Marc Spector / Steven Grant / Jake Lockley - Moon Knight - MCU (2022 - )
Marc/Steve/Jake has easily been my favorite character in the MCU phase 4.
Tumblr media
Halbrand - The Rings of Power (2022- )
I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about this show but I find Halbrand to be one of the more interesting characters despite the fact things will probably end badly for him.
Tumblr media
Daemon Targaryen - House of the Dragon (2022- )
I love the leaner.
Tumblr media
Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto - The Bear (2022- )
I found this show by happenstance and my god it's so good.
Tumblr media
River Cartwright - Slow Horses (2022- )
This spy comedy caught me out of the blue this year and was both thrilling and funny. Gary Oldman also stars in this.
Tumblr media
Deke Shaw - Agents of Shield (2013-2020)
What can I say, I love this goofball and Deke x Daisy is kinda my guilty pleasure crack ship. 😅
Tumblr media
Charlie Epps - Numb3rs (2005 - 2010)
This was one of my favorite TV shows back in the day.
Tumblr media
Alfred Borden - The Prestige (2006)
An underrated Christopher Nolan movie (in my opinion) that was overshadowed by many other big films that year. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman star.
Tumblr media
James Hunt - Rush (2013)
Another underrated movie in my opinion starring Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl.
Tumblr media
Tagging @arabianflowers @nikolatexla @disabledameron @rosalindsghost @finalgalnancy @reyskywalker328 and anyone else who wants to give it a shot, but no pressure! ♥️

What does your writing planning look like? Do you research deep for fics?
Hello! And thank you for such great questions.
What my writing planning looks like is heavily dependent on what fandom I'm writing for. For a story/chapter that follows the (general) plotline of a canon episode, I'll be watching the episode repeatedly as I write, so that I get the dialogue down right, so I get the setting right, the expressions on the characters face right, etc., etc. For a story/chapter less dependent on a canon episode or NOT dependent on a canon episode, well, sometimes my planning might involve just a sentence or two of inspiration for what I want to happen. Sometimes, I have no planning for a chapter/story, and I spend a while staring at a blank Word doc page until proverbial lightening strikes, and I get some inspiration. That last case is so frustrating.
YES! I do so much research for my stories. It's probably good that no one sees my Google search history besides me ... :-) A relevant Fandom wikia (if decent) is always a help. Wikpedia is a must for basic research on (some) topics. YouTube is also nice if it has relevant documentaries about whatever I'm writing on.
I research everything from injuries/medical things (FBI, panic attacks, claustrophobia; Stargate ... including radiation poisoning, gulp/gag), weather conditions and sunrise/sunset times (FBI, especially, as it influences how long they'll be out in the field on a certain day and Clinton's shots as a sniper), the time it takes an army to march X distance on foot (Troy/Iliad WIP), the number of shots in a certain type of gun (FBI), the distance between galaxies (Stargate), why helicopters crash (unposted Coast Guard/SEAL Team story), medical properties of herbs/plants (LOTR); Russian cuisine, especially as regards soup (unposted original fic/Numb3rs story), etc.
If I'm writing about a disability not my own or not close enough to my own that I can extrapolate, I especially try to do a lot of research. I've found that sometimes other people Tumblr blogs/posts with their personal experience can give me some good ideas/clues for how to shape my characterizations.
In the end, I don't expect perfection with my research for my stories, since I'm not a doctor/scientist/FBI agent/etc., but I want at least plausibility. I don't want something so ridiculous that it immediately throws people for a loop and dislodges them from the world I'm trying to build.

Still Rocking Your Hoodie
Pairing: Don Eppes x Reader
A/N: I’m rewatching Numb3rs and I’m obsessed with Don bc damn that man is fine but anyways this was inspired by the song Hoodie by: Hey Violet
“Charlie are you sure about this?” Don asked suddenly very concerned “Yes Don the math doesn’t lie.” Charlie stated getting sick of people always asking if it was right “Why Don? What’s Wrong?” David asked noting the change in his demeanor “I know that address.” Don knew the way to her house by heart and soon enough they were pulling into her driveway. Don and David walked up to her front door and went to knock when they noticed the front door was already open. Drawing their guns they went into the house. “Y/N. It’s Don. Are you here?” Don asked as they made entry already having a feeling they weren’t going to get an answer. “Okay we’re clear.” David said as they put their guns away and started surveying the house. Don walked into her bedroom and looked around, noticing the old sweatshirt sitting on her bed. Picking it up he noticed you never replaced the broken zipper or the patched up the holes where the material had worn too thin. “Don you need to look at this!” David yelled from the kitchen Don walked in still holding the ratty hoodie in his hands. David wanted to ask what was going on but decided to get away. “Back door was open and there’s blood on the floor but it doesn’t look like anything fatal. The kettle was still on the stove boiling with water in it so-” “We just missed them.” Don said interrupting him. “Yeah,” was all David managed to get out, “There’s more going on here isn’t there?” David finally asked “She’s my ex.” Don said not giving too much away. Not wanting to say that she was the only girl he was ever sure he loved completely. That she was the one that got away. And how it was killing him that she was now missing.
Charlie was explaining whatever math he was going to use to find her but Don wasn’t listening. He was thinking about everything he did wrong in the relationship. They had a really good thing. He was hopelessly in love with her and vice versa. From her point of view, he ended the relationship suddenly. Said he didn’t love her anymore and moved on. But that wasn’t the whole story. The whole story being that her life was threatened multiple times because of his job and one time was too close and he just couldn’t handle her getting hurt because of him. He thought it was best to end things and she’d eventually move on to a new man who wasn’t putting her life at risk every time he went to work. It had been almost a year and he hadn’t dated anyone since. And judging by his old hoodie still on her bed, she hadn’t either. Maybe if he hadn’t ended things he would’ve been able to prevent this. She wouldn’t be living by herself. She wouldn’t have gotten hurt. But her couldn’t think like that, not right now. Right now, he had to focus on finding her. Don started to focus back on the team strategizing but the room was completely silent. “What?” He said because they were all staring at him “We know where she is Don.” Colby said “Well than why are you guys just standing around, let’s go.” He said standing up and grabbing his jacket from the back of the chair.
They pulled up outside the abandoned warehouse with S.W.A.T. and other agents. Don explained the plan to everyone and they made their way around the building before going inside. There was minimal struggle as they barged into the warehouse. One of them took off running but Don decided someone else could chase after him. “Y/N!” Don yelled out hoping you were there and you were still live. “Don is that you?” a weak voice yelled from a corner. Don ran over to the small room she was being held in and broke open the door. And immediately she started crying. “Hey, it’s going to be alright. I’m right here.” Don said while squatting down to untie her hands and feet. As soon as she was untied, she grabbed on to Don and held on for dear life. “Hey you’re fine. It’s fine.” He said while holding her head to his chest and helping her to stand up. As they walked out of the building, Don put his jacket around her and led her to the ambulance.
It was almost a week later when Don heard a knock at his door. When he opened the door Y/N was standing there. “Hey I wasn’t expecting to see you.” Was all Don managed to say “Oh well I wanted to return this.” She said while holding out his FBI jacket he’d given her at the scene. “Well thanks,” there was a pause “Hey come in for a second, I have something of yours.” She walked into his living room while he went into his bedroom, returning a few seconds later with the hoodie he found at her house. “It seems you have a thing for my jackets” He said with a chuckle “Well it was all I had of you when you left. It was always my favorite of yours even with the stupid broken zipper.” She said while staring at her feet, their break-up being an awkward topic. “Why do think I left it?” Don said and she just looked up at him confused. “I never gave you the real reason as to why I left.” Don then went into the concerns he had about her safety and all the close calls she never knew about, “But I was so worried about you getting hurt through my job that it didn’t occur to me that I could be better at keeping you safe because of what I do not until today anyway. If I never left maybe I could’ve prevented everything that happened to you.” “Don, you can’t blame yourself. If it hadn’t been for you, things much worse than them just tying me up could’ve happened. You’re great at your job but you carry too much on yourself, always have.” There was silence. “But Don I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself and if the only reason we broke up is because you were worried about my safety then that’s stupid. I understand you Don, you haven’t always been the best at talking but with what we have, I just don’t get why you wouldn’t have told me.” “Have? Present tense?” was all Don said “What?” she said confused “You said “with what we have” you’re talking about us in the present tense.” “Yes Don, just because we’re not together anymore doesn’t mean there isn’t anything still here. I was completely and helplessly in love with you. It absolutely destroyed me when you left. And no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t hate you. I think subconsciously I knew there was more to it but I was in too much pain to try and figure that out.” “I’m sorry” Don was never a man of many words “I’ve been seeing a therapist.” He said after a pause “Ok and?” “And I’m better at talking. At trusting. Y/N I want to try again with you. You are the love of my life and it took everything in me to not come running back to you. Back then I wasn’t good at relationships. I was good at leaving. So when I realized that I was putting your life at stake I didn’t know how to deal with it. Leaving was easier than dealing with my feelings. I know that doesn’t make up for what I did but do you think there is even a chance you’ll have me back?” There was silence She stood up on her tip-toes and kissed him “We’ll see” she said with a smirk as she turned and walked out Don’s apartment. Leaving him with a smirk on his face and maybe a little twinge of hope in his heart.

Ok, so in one of your Whumptober fics, you had the CSI Grave Danger-theme. Any other TV ep-inspired whump scenarios you would want to see in the show (or in fic) the most?
Oh!!!! Oh there’s so many that my brain is spinning right now! Well, there’s always that episode of CSI: NY where Danny gets locked in the panic room with a dead body. Then there’s the episode of Psych where Shawn gets shot and shoved in a trunk then running in the woods only to run into one of his other captors. Pretty much all the Mike whump in Graceland (sans Paige because I don't have time to rage about her. We hiss at the sight of her *hiss*). Nick's whole stalker in CSI too was pretty crazy with him living in the ceiling. A lot of those early to mid 2000s shows (Numb3rs, Castle, CSI, etc etc) had some great whump moments and now everything feels a little a lot tamer.
IDK Nonnie the possibilities are endless. A lot of the whump I come up with is because I've either been day dreaming in the car or I saw the flash of something. Action movies are my like go to cleaning background noise and that's always great for inspiration too.
ALTHOUGH now I'm thinking about that Idris Elba movie with Richard Madden where Idris is a CIA agent and Richard Madden accidentally pickpocketed the bad guys and didn't know he had some big like secret flash drive so everyone is chasing after him and now I'm picturing Buck in that scenario.
ANYWAYS.
Endless Nonnie. The possibilities are endless.

The Title Game
Rules: list your five favorite titles from fics, published or WIPs, and give an explanation as to why they’re your favorite. Then tag whoever you’d like to tag, or leave it up to followers to join in as they see fit!

That’s a tough one… seeing as I have written and published around about 60 to 70 stories (some of them each feature multiple one shots so we reach more than 100 I guess)… but I will try.
Let’s start with…
Two Worlds
A Numb3rs story about that one scene in season 2 which made me ship Colby/Larry. I know it’s an awkward ship but… it was my life back then! So this story started it. And it started one of my greatest friendships! I will always be grateful for it!
Freundschaften, Pairings und andere Probleme (Friendships, Pairings and other problems)
Yet another Numb3rs story (collection) written for a German project where you roll the dice to find out various pairings and write about them. 36 one shots ended up being posted. I loved this project and the different genres I wrote in it! It was closely followed by Freundschaften, Pairings und noch mehr Probleme (Friendships, Pairings and even more problems) which featured additional stories.
You should have killed me
A Mission Impossible story based on the song by A day to remember. I just love the song! And the title… It captures the whole story plot so well!
United
This has to be the most tragic (Star Trek) story I’ve ever written. So much sadness! But maybe in the aftermath everything will be okay. Everyone… will be united again.
And the last…
To feel you near me
Another Star Trek story. An AU in which Scotty is blind and Bones is deaf and mute but they still find their way to each other ~
I tag @thesconesyard and @starlightcrystalix

I’ll write imagines, one-shots, headcanons, and preferences (specify which characters for preferences)

My one problem with the last season of Numb3rs is that they never explored the emotional fall out of Don killing Pete (his old FBI mentor/friend who turned out to be a crooked cop who shot some other FBI agents). The writers were always so good at NOT dropping storylines that them dropping on the ball on that one was rather disappointing. There was more emotional impact on Don when he shot and killed the spree killer after she almost killed one of Don's team members. The lack of lasting impact just seemed kind of out of character for him.
