Fictober Prompt 25 - I Could Really Eat Something
Fandom: Star Wars Warnings: Mentions of blood and injury Disclaimers: I in no way own any part of Star Wars. Of the OC’s featured in this short work, Lady Oriali belongs to me. Lord Caligo belongs to @supesofherown
The sky is a bright, deep blue, running ever-onward to the horizon.  A few puffy clouds rest on the hazy line where land and sky meet; rain, perhaps, is expected within the next few hours. Cheer and tranquility bleed through the picturesque setting of the sky and the grass, which ripples in a soft breath of wind.
However, for those two figures plodding through that grass, peace does not touch them.  One wears a suit of black and red armor, a stain against the patches of grass he moves through.  His helmet, a black visor with slits for eyes, is focused, not on his feet nor the path ahead, but upon the one next to him.  Her steps are unsteady, her face partially-hidden by her hands.  Yet he can see the cut, jagged and red, that runs along her face.  He had put it there not more than fifteen minutes ago…and though it is so recent, the moment itself is not easily recalled.
They used to be apprentices, each with their own Lord or Lady…they had met at young ages and never managed to get along. There was no alliance, nor was there companionship…there was a divide, jagged and deep, like her gash.  As the years had gone on, their differences in opinion and action drove them further apart.  She, the Lady Oriali, had never adhered to the Sith Order as well as he. This was apparent in the way she would pursue her own interests, the way she cared for her young padawan…he was the perfect example of how a Sith Lord should act, while his thoughts and beliefs warred against him.
She called herself a Sith, yet pursued a lifestyle that defied her title.  He, Lord Caligo, criticized his own actions, though his companions held him in high regard as an obedient, loyal Sith.  Both were hypocrites to the core, which was perhaps why they could never form a bond. Perhaps one saw too much of themselves in the other.
They walk in silence as these and other thoughts race through his mind.  Caligo could heal her, reach out and allow the Force to channel through the gash and stop the red from dripping onto her pale hands and arms.  But she will not let him touch her.  Pride and fear keep her head high, despite the pain and her limited vision.  For all that he has already done to her today, he will honor her wish of solitude. He will not touch her unless he is allowed; an outcome he suspects will not occur.
When the cottage appears on the rise of a little hill, with smoke puffing out its chimney and a wooden barn squatting behind it, he touches her arm to point her in the right direction.  They are both hungry and sore…one of them is in pain and in dire need of medical attention.  It’s a stranger’s house, and they, two Sith.  However, a cold reception is the least of their concerns; if need be, he will simply break down the door and kill those who might stand between them and a warm meal.
Caligo reaches out a hand, taking one of Oriali’s in his own.  She hasn’t said anything since their battle, but now she turns to him, squinting past her bloodied fingers at his hazy outline.
“….I could really eat something,” she finally says.

Crown of Roses - Prologue
Okay, I know today’s not the 28th, but it’s fine. I wanted to start posting this new multi-chapter fic I’ve been working on for a while. Because I love it damn much! >_<’’ So my OC in this will be Selene Lucis Caelum, the twin sister of Noctis and another OC (Eve Leonis) will make an appearance too, as the princess’ shield!
This is a story about an arranged marriage, not going as it should... heh.
I’m still going to post my other fics too, this was just a special treat for me. =n_n=
Tagging @glaive-eve, she likes being ordered around by the Lucis Caelums >;)
Word count: 2292 Warnings: None
A shadowy meeting room was filled with characters of different ranks and statuses, eagerly waiting for a new grand plan to be composed. In the middle of the room was a table — a long table crafted from the finest trees in Gralea — surrounded by chairs, currently reserved for those with higher ranks. Those, whose ranks did not allow for a seat around the table, stood in the background and observed.
“We need a plan,” stated the Emperor, His Radiance, as the most called. His blue eyes circled around the room, in search for someone with an idea that would throw Insomnia out of balance for good. Ideloas Aldercapt was an impatient man, waiting anxiously for someone to speak up, throw a suggestion.
“How about an arranged marriage?” suggested man with a fedora resting on top of his head. Ardyn Izunia, the chancellor of the Niflheim Empire, sat at the tabler leaning his back against the back rest of the chair. His eyes glinted under the shade of his hat and his mouth had curled into a sly smile.
“We could work on that,” the Emperor nodded with his eyes moving onto the next speaker: a man in shining armour and stern look decorating his face.
“We could use Lady Lunafreya,” Caligo Ulldor nodded, “make her marry the crown prince of Lucis.” The Emperor leaned back slightly, holding his hands on the table. He let the thought mould in his mind, when he heard someone shifting nervously on his right.
“I’d rather leave my sister out of this,” noted the man in long white coat and silvery hair. The Emperor glared at him under his half-hooded eyelids, as he had interrupted the brainstorm thundering Aldercapt’s thoughts.
“You got anyone better to offer in her place?” Ardyn snorted standing up, chuckling amusedly at the deputy high commander of Niflheim army. “Sounds almost like you’re volunteering,” he studied the commander’s face unable to hide the amusement splaying across his face. The color had drained from the commander’s face and his lips were pursed tightly. “So you’re definitely volunteering,” Ardyn laughed.
“Silence!” Emperor Aldercapt shouted slamming his hand, curled into a fist, against the table. He made the documents laid on the table scatter everywhere. Ardyn and the silver haired commander froze in their places and shifted their eyes back on the Emperor. “So are you volunteering? Instead of your sister?” he fixated his eyes on Ravus.
The atmosphere tensed, as the deputy high commander pondered his next movement carefully.
“If you keep my sister out of this, then yes. I’ll do whatever is needed,” Ravus sighed raking his fingers through his silvery hair. His voice was already coated with mild regret.
“Ah, but do not worry— Ravus! We’ll make sure there is no actual wedding to be held...” Ardyn chuckled and winked at him, piquing the interest of the Emperor himself. “Unless you really want to, that is...” Ravus shot an angered glare at him and Ardyn touched gently the brim of his fedora with his fingertips, a wide grin spreading across his face.
“Are you sure it’ll work?” Caligo questioned with furrowed brows as his mind processed the idea. It would be risky in every way, but it would be hard to turn down. And well processed, Lucis would suffer greatly.
“We’ll make it work,” Ravus grunted lowly, “we have to make it work.” His heterochromatic eyes were glued on a document, while he flipped the pages of it in front of him, trying to avoid the thought of marrying the princess.
The king of Lucis sat on his throne, staring into the void and leaning his elbow on the armrest. He was completely unaware of the worried looks his shield threw at him, as he stood just a few meters away from him.
“Clarus,” the king suddenly sighed, still staring into the distance. He hadn’t looked so tired in a while. The shield worried greatly for the king’s health. If it only had been the wall that was consuming him at the moment.
“Yes, Your Majesty?” the shield shifted and turned to face him.
“Do you ever… Have a hard time with Iris?” Regis asked with a tired voice. The prince was surely easy to teach and handle, but having a pampered daughter...
“She can be difficult at times, yes,” Clarus humphed, worry melting away from his eyes to be replaced with amusement. He hadn’t been that much at home lately, but every time he saw his daughter —  well — he was glad that Gladiolus handled things back home. “And she can be very demanding from time to time, Your Majesty.”
It wasn’t the first time to have that conversation either.
“Then you must know how I feel!” Regis nearly shouted, waving his hand around as if to shoo away a fly. He had tried to understand his daughter’s whims, but he had a whole kingdom to rule and he simply didn’t even have the energy or time to argue about anything with the princess. “Noctis can be so modest but Selene is the complete opposite.”
Clarus stood quietly, looking at his king. “Your Majesty, is it the party that causes this?” he knew the answer already: every year the King held a gathering for his twins, to celebrate. Obviously it was the daughter that demanded the weirdest programs for the evening.
Regis nodded slightly, lifting his head from the slump he had fallen into. “Yes, this year she wants a damn nightclub in the Citadel.”
A young woman stormed into the massive ballroom of the Citadel, her heart was pounding madly in her chest from the panic that was about to burst in her. She had dark blonde hair braided into a tidy bun behind the back of her head and her blue eyes scouted the busy ballroom for signs of someone she needed desperately to find. She wore a dark long coat and a top, only showing off her stomach and shoulders and a hint of eagle wing tattoos peeking under the garment, gracing her ribs over her skin.
Eve Leonis was a proud member of the crownsguard and her job was to be the bodyguard of princess Selene Lucis Caelum. And she wasn’t really doing a good job at the moment.
“Has anyone seen the Princess?” Eve shouted at the people assembling the club, that had been specifically ordered to be built inside the Citadel. Everyone was too busy to notice the young shield looking the one she was supposed to be protecting. Eve cursed quietly and rushed towards the stairs, leading to the training room. ‘No way she’d gone training.’
The Princess hated training and Eve knew that all too well. Every time she had proposed to actually learn to protect herself in combat, she had just madly torched all the dummies and left the room, leaving her dumbfounded bodyguard behind.
Most of the time she just declined and moved onto more amusing matters, such as shopping and having fun.
Eve entered the training room and, the smell of sweat filled her nostrils instantly. Her eyes searched the room to only notice the other shield, Gladiolus Amicitia, sitting next to a wall and stretching his muscles after the workout. He lifted his gaze and noticed Eve standing in the doorway looking helpless as ever.
“Lost something?” he asked slightly amused. It wasn’t the first time Eve had come running to the training room in search for the princess and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
“Have you seen her?” she hurried to ask, the panic obvious in her voice now. She started pacing around the room, studying the curtains covering the wall-sized windows. Gladio chuckled and stood up, stretching out his muscular arms as he walked over to Eve. His body was still sweaty and his tank top was glued against his skin. Eve had seen the same view many times, but he had lost his effect on making the shield flinch with his sweaty presence.
“No, but we could always ask Noct,” he sighed and nodded his head towards the showers. She hadn’t noticed it before, but a gentle smell of soap floated near the doorway to the dressing room. Eve bit her lip and resolutely decided that it was better to wait than charge in. “The party is tonight, right?” he asked while they waited for the prince to finish showering.
“Yeah, the princess has a lot on her to-do-list before the celebration. Ignis gave me this list when I first walked into Citadel this morning,” Eve sighed and handed Gladiolus the schedule. She wondered whose idea was to put the training in her schedule at the day of the party. She would need help from Astrals themselves to drag the princess into the gym.
Ignis surely knew how to make Eve’s day even more stressful.
“Damn, this looks hardcore,” Gladiolus chuckled. Only Ignis could pull such schedules for the princess. No wonder she had gone missing.
“She could be in the kitchen, you know,” husked a male voice behind Eve. She turned around in surprise — only to see the shower fresh prince Noctis standing at the dressing room doorway, leaning on the doorframe.
“Y-your Highness!” Eve stuttered, bowing at him with flushed cheeks. She had had no idea how good he looked right after the shower, his hair still wet, beads of water running down his jaw and neck and disappearing underneath the neckline of his black shirt.
Eve had to shake the improper thoughts from her head, that had suddenly wakened in his presence. At least he had his clothes on.
“You know she likes to torture that chef-in-training? The guy has a terrible crush on her and she is just using him to get special treatment,” Noctis sighed as he dropped his sports bag on the hardwood floor.
“Ouch,” Gladiolus grinned.
“How I’m not surprised?” Eve groaned, snatching the schedule back from Gladio’s hands. Noctis scratched his neck, letting out a quiet chuckle. “Well, I need to go raid the kitchen then, see you guys at the party!” Eve said, trying to sound cheerful as she walked out of the gym.
“Aaand there she goes,” Gladio said to Noctis, nudging him with his elbow. Noctis scoffed and threw an angry glare at him.
“I have no idea what you are talking about,” Noctis mumbled, picking up his bag from the floor. He resolutely decided to leave the Citadel to get ready for the evening.
“Here you are!” Eve shouted as she finally found the princess sitting on a barstool in front of a kitchen counter. She was destroying a panna cotta that she had ordered from the lovesick chef. Eve took an empty seat next to her, emitting a furious aura around her.
Selene had long, silky hair, coloured the same as Noctis’s raven black hair and she often kept it on loose. The princess looked like Noctis and they had the same alabaster skin. Both favored black clothes and Selene was always seen wearing a black dress. The only thing in Selene that didn’t remind of Noctis, was her emerald green eyes.
“Good morning to you too,” Selene sighed, narrowing her eyes as she ate the last spoonful of the dessert. “I think Ignis makes it better, but he is off somewhere. Probably picking a suit for Noct.”
“You’re behind your schedule, Your Highness,” Eve huffed, breathing heavily from the rage. It was her job to kick Selene’s ass and she would do everything to keep up to her promise.
“Ah, fuck the schedule,” Selene sighed, placing the empty cup delicately on the polished steel counter. The lovesick chef eagerly picked it up and took it to the dishwasher. His glances towards the princess told everything and Eve felt sorry for him. He thought he was making an impression on her, but the truth was something complete opposite.
“Your Highness, you can’t ignore your duties,” Eve said calmly, placing the schedule on the counter in front of Selene. She blinked a few times as she read the text, written beautifully on Ignis’s handwriting. Eve also wanted to nag about her improper language but it would be like talking to a wall.
“Eve, chill. My name is Selene,” she rolled her eyes, with her shoulders slumping from the disappointment. She had known Eve for years and it was still weird if she suddenly started calling her ‘Highness’ or ‘Princess’ in front of her. After all, they did spend their time together almost every day. Mostly doing things that Selene wanted to do and Eve just followed her around, trying to keep her out of mishaps and protecting her from possible threats.
“But seriously? Do I need a foot massage in 30 minutes?” Selene questioned, rolling her eyes, drumming the counter with her fingernails, “this is insane!”
“I’m sure Ignis knows what he’s doing, Your—, I mean—, Selene,” Eve informed. Selene gave her a sour look. “Look, I’m sorry Sel,” Eve sighed, leaning at the counter with her forearm. “This is as stressful to me as it is to — uh, to everyone else except you.”
Selene was always so laid back on the political parties and gatherings that Eve wondered if she actually cared about them at all. The only thing she did enjoy, was to dress into fancier clothes than usual and to wear her sparkling tiara.
“Hey, Noct is pretty chill about this too!” Selene pouted making Eve smile slightly.
“Fine, you can skip the massage but I’ll drag your ass to the gym if I have to,” Eve warned.
“Seriously? Do I have to?” Selene cried, but her mouth slowly curled into a gentle smile. At least Eve was going to get some work done that day.

Essie
(This is a personal character of @mtraki.  She is displayed here for sharing purposes, but also as an example for how a character can be fleshed out from a more basic profile!  Please ask the Concierge before borrowing this character for any content.)
Tumblr media
Name: Estrella “Essie” Guistina Montserrat Floortje
Acceptable forms of Address:
Formal/Polite address: Lady Floortje; Lady Estrella Floortje; my lady
Essie
Formal introductions customarily require the whole name to honor the family.  She is very reluctant to give formal introductions.  Most everyone who needs that much information (her peers in the Niflheim and Accordo courts, and some in the Lucian courts) already know it.
Species: Human; Niflheim nobility
Age: 28-30; she answers this question evasively
Sex: Female
Setting: FFXV fanworks
Roles: This is a Original Character (OC) for FFXV fandom works and roleplay.
Physical description: Essie stands a proud 5ft 9in/ ~1.7426m with a lean-- almost thin-- build.  She has golden blonde hair in a pixie cut and dark hazel eyes.  She almost always wears makeup, focusing on her eyes and keeping the rest very light and natural.  Her neutral/repose expression tends to appear somewhat condescending to others.   She is right-handed.
Until recently, Essie found it important to wear fashionable clothing and jewelry to match her social station.  She was fond of long, fluid coats over very structured, corset-like tops with blouses and fitted trousers.  She had a number of riding boots, both with and without heels.  Skirts were long with high slits up one or both sides, and worn only for special occasions or consorting with someone she wanted to look particularly sexy for-- the general consensus being that she has very nice legs to make up for her lack of prominent curve.
After fleeing Altissia and the majority of her wardrobe, the lady found herself in a fashion crisis.  What clothes she had managed to bring with her were not as suited to a life on the long road as she had anticipated.  Unskilled in mending and used to simply discarding and replacing stained or damaged garments, Essie quickly ran out of fashionable things to wear.  Nowadays, she wears whatever she can put together, focused on comfort and durability, though if she can, she’ll trifle with fashionable choices.   At the very least, everything matches or complements.  Jewelry, such as earrings and her signet ring for House Floortje, are worn consistently.  Occasionally, she will add additional rings, and perhaps a choker or torc.  Other necklaces and bracelets are avoided for their disadvantage in the wilds and combat-- and many she owned were sold.
Essie openly carries her sabre sword, Ferro Lingua, on her right hip and a pistol holstered just below the small of her back.  While in the wilds or otherwise anticipating a fight, she will wear an intricate, short leather gauntlet tipped with metal claws on her left hand--upon close inspection, it is clearly magitek.
Personality: Poised, articulate, curious, and headstrong; Essie scales from cool to red-hot.  As a noblewoman and heir to the estate, she was raised to uphold the honor of her House through her good manners, social graces, and education-- so these are very important to her in general.  As an individual, she balances a number of decidedly conflicting interests as a scholar, a skilled warrior, and an unrepentant party girl.
Though a self-proclaimed scholar, and able to spend days on end studying with great discipline, she does not believe in reading for pleasure, finding it a foolish waste of time.  She is well-read and has a gift for picking things up easily-- ‘naturally talented’ is a phrase often used.  Essie is as proud of her swordplay as she is of her breadth of knowledge, and almost just as proud of her pistol marksmanship-- a very rare skill among noblewomen.  These accomplishments appeal to her personal pride due to their controversy and her competition with her social peers.
The Lady Floortje is a humanist and a hedonist.  In her education and limited experience, the gods of Eos are too far removed from the doings of humankind to be truly considered, much less worshiped or obeyed.  At best they are unpredictable, prone to wrath, and untrustworthy.  At worst, they are humanity’s greatest threat-- seeking to bind mortals to slavish, short existences for their mercurial whims.  Instead, she celebrates the great accomplishments of her kind-- regardless of political borders-- and is just as likely to admire the city of Insomnia and its seeming mastery of magic as she does her own home of Gralea and the wonder of magitek.
Though from a noble House of Niflheim, she has no aspirations for imperial government, seeing such a position as a great shackle to her otherwise fiercely independent nature.
Though no great patriot, one will be hard-pressed to convince the lady that Niflheim is guilty of any actual evil or dishonorable underhandedness-- any news otherwise is chalked up to ‘Lucian propaganda’.  “Emperor Aldercapt purposefully and underhandedly turned the treaty signing in Insomnia into a massacre, unprovoked?”  Nonsense!  The Emperor was gracious enough to propose and sign a treaty in enemy territory, at great risk to his own life.  It is preposterous that he would instigate further, needless violence.  Whatever happened in that room, it is more likely some hot-headed Lucian patriot started it.  Everything after was simply a terrible, tragic consequence.  That being said, she does not believe Lucians to be inherently evil or degenerate either, and certainly does not consider any of them to be her enemies without sufficient evidence.
Merits:
She is a humanist and believes in the greatness of people.  Each person is worthy of respect for their potential to add to the great fabric of human ascendance and the progression of society.
She is charitable when she can afford it-- and sometimes when she ought not try to…
She is happy to do a favor for almost anybody.
She is the first to buy you a drink if you’ve accomplished something… or if something terrible has befallen you.
Essie is curious and loves to learn new things-- which she finds easy to accomplish.
Articulate and well-educated, Lady Floortje, is charismatic and engaging with most people.
She is fiercely independent, makes her own decisions based on careful consideration of facts, and is unwilling to rely overmuch on others despite no longer having access to a fortune and a house full of servants to attend her.
Flaws:
Essie is often very impulsive when her curiosity or temper get the better of her.  Or when drinking.
Though she affirms every individual is worthy of respect, she very often falls into the trap of classism, thinking herself and her peers are due an extra dose of respect simply for their social status.  Anyone of lesser status treating a noble with disdain or disrespect risks her displeasure.
Vices:
Essie loves to learn things, and pursues knowledge with great enthusiasm, revealing her naivete due to a sheltered upbringing.  The easiest way to bargain with her is to appeal to her curiosity and thirst for knowledge-- the danger comes that she may already possess the knowledge being offered!
The Lady Floortje is known for her hedonism.  She enjoys, and will seek out, good food, good drink, fine clothes, entertainment, attractive and pleasant company, and pleasure in all its various forms.  Untold hours will go wasted while she sates her appetites.
Pleasure costs money--especially these days!--and she often forgets she no longer has the seemingly endless resources of her House.
Sex is for pleasure, and Essie has few compunctions concerning seeking it out from anyone she wishes, whenever and wherever she wishes.
Relations:
Family:
Sadly, the former Lord and Lady Floortje did not survive Altissia.  As an only child, Essie is the heiress and sole-survivor of her noble line.
Friends/Allies:
Essie’s lifestyle and personality don’t provide much room for meaningful relationships, however, she does have notable connections in Altissia and Niflheim.
The members of court in Niflheim are sometimes allies, more-often stumbling-blocks.
Court Superiors:
Emperor Aldercapt - He knows her and respects the history and loyalty of her House, but since their flight from Gralea, he has more or less written her off.
Chancellor Izunia - They are acquaintances, and appearances are maintained on both sides.  Essie respects his knowledge and resources-- particularly concerning magitek.  She’s not so fond of his often smarmy, theatrical mannerisms.  Likewise, he is amused by her, but overall considers her of no use in his plans.
Research Chief Verstael Besithia - She considers him a brilliant, but secretive and perhaps disturbed man.  Her family was once a great supporter of his work, finding great merit in taking the citizens of Niflheim off the battlefield.  In turn, Besithia remembers fondly the support of her House, but otherwise is too busy with his own affairs to acknowledge them.
Court Peers:
Lord Caligo Ulldor - House Ulldor and House Floortje have been fierce rivals for generations, competing for imperial favor.  Caligo was the arch-rival of Essie’s father and considers the facts of Lord Floortje’s lesser military accomplishments, and failure to produce a son to replace him as a general, to be proofs of his superiority.  Essie considers him a cruel, twisted, pig of a man and takes pleasure in humiliating him in conversation whenever afforded the opportunity.
Lord Loqi Tummelt - Loqi and Essie met in their schooling, though Loqi was always behind Essie due to his younger age and her ability to learn and master things more quickly.  Aware of their social positions as equals and rivals for the favor of the Emperor and glory of their respective Houses, he resents her so frequently showing him up.  Therefore, Loqi takes great pride in the fact that despite all her accomplishments and humiliation of him during schooling, he is a brigadier general of the Niflheim army and she never will be.  Meanwhile, Essie considers Loqi very infrequently, deciding the most effective way of dealing with his frequent childish moodiness is to ignore him.  There are two significant but unconfirmed rumors about the two of them: 1) That there was an illicit tryst between them once. 2) That Loqi desires to wed her for the pleasure of proclaiming once and for all, for everyone to know, that she must finally submit to him.
Others:
Ravus Nox Fleuret - There is an intense rivalry and admiration between the two of them that goes back to their schooling days.  It is much debated which of them is a better swordsman, as they favor similar weapons and had tutors who were also bitter rivals.  Upon completing their training, a match was arranged with a points system and Essie was declared the victor, awarded with the superb blade she still carries at her side.  Naturally, she and Ravus have conflicting accounts about how this occurred:  Essie claims simply that she outright won.  Ravus maintains that she was chosen out of favoritism-- strongly insinuating that she had been sleeping with the judge of the contest.  Despite this, Ravus acknowledges that she is a woman deserving of respect for her skill and knowledge, and Essie agrees that it is mutual.  Still, Ravus was born a prince and considers Essie his social inferior, which he does not keep a secret.  Meanwhile, Essie is unsure how to treat Ravus-- as a deposed-Prince of a conquered kingdom, he surely is no longer her social superior, but is he her peer or her inferior?  This confusion is exacerbated into frustration by the traditions and decisions of the Imperial Court-- he leads men into battle (and is later promoted to High Commander) while she is never to be permitted such a role due to her sex.
Commodore Aranea Highwind - Despite her inferior social rank as a mercenary, Essie has a great deal of admiration for the dragoon as a self-made woman.  They have never met in person, but Aranea has heard plenty about Lady Floortje from the Niflheim court and is reserving judgement.
Romantic:
Essie is one of the few remaining unwed noblewomen in Niflheim court, however she refuses to let this dictate her future-- one of the prime reasons she has not returned to Gralea to take up her House.  This may not stop her peers from attempting to formally court or claim her…
There is noone in particular she feels particularly beholden to… That being said, Essie is not shy about initiating or accepting a tryst with attractive company.
Her preferences are unclear.  She doesn’t concern herself about the labels.  If she’s attracted to a person, she has little compunction with an intimate liaison.
 Attraction:
In spite of (or perhaps because of) her own lack of obvious female attributes, she seems to prefer her men to look traditionally masculine and her women to look traditionally feminine.  Bishounen men have a better shot than less-traditionally feminine women, however.
Good hygiene and a ‘put-together’ image.
If someone knows something or does something interesting, they have her attention.
Dogmatic speaking will encourage her to send someone packing.  She likes people who think for themselves.
Fortune favors the bold.  It punishes the obnoxious.  Confidence is sexy!  Pushiness isn’t.
Shyness doesn’t exclude a person, though.  She might get very forward in this case-- if they back off or resist too much to her advances, she’ll just let them go.
Courtesy for her as a lady scores someone points.  Restricting her behavior for the sake of chivalry or preconceived notions of acceptable female behavior will quickly lose them-- it’s a delicate balance. (Good luck!)
Flattering her skill or intelligence gets a person much further than flattering her appearance-- That being said, if she thinks they only appreciate her mind, then she isn’t going to show them her body…
If the goal is to win her heart… there is a long, turbulent voyage ahead.
 Abilities/Resources:
Essie is a lady of the Niflheim court.  Though she is separated from Gralea and therefore unable to claim the authority and resources of her House, she still commands respect and has many connections there.
She is a very well-read scholar.  She knows a great many things.
She is a formidable combatant:
Sabre: Essie is an excellent swordswoman due to a long, grueling education and her determination to prove herself capable of competing with her male peers.  Her fighting style is unique in that she wears her blade on the same side of her body as her sword arm.  She draws with a reverse grip for a very fast, very strong (often surprise!) opening attack right out of the scabbard, sweeping a wide, rising overhead, arc.  While overhead, she uses the full guard and inertia to spin the blade into the proper grip.  Still, this leaves an opening on her right side-- especially low-- between her first and second strikes.  Most opponents are too surprised to take advantage.
Pistol: Essie is a decent marksman with her pepperbox-style pistol, though she is decidedly much better when not moving, which puts her at risk if there are multiple combatants.  If she is using her pistol, she cannot use her gauntlet.  Her accuracy and timing are much worse if she is wearing the gauntlet.  Her pistol carries only four rounds, but reloading is a quick and simple process (though it requires both hands).
Gauntlet: She possess a short gauntlet (coming only to her wrist) of leather, armored in engraved steel plates and strong steel claws at the end of the fingertips.  This article is a piece of armor and weapon both, with magitek properties to boost both.  As a piece of armor, outside of the usefulness of other gauntlets, she can activate a small energy shield that operates much like the ‘Protect’ spell, though this shield has a smaller diameter than the length of her forearm and relies heavily upon the strength of her arm and body to hold in place.  As a weapon, aside from the metal claws that can be an additional melee weapon against anyone that gets inside her guard with the sabre, she can also deliver a very painful magitek-fueled electric shock to anything she grabs hold of.  Outside of combat, she can use the gauntlet to assist with climbing.
Limitations:
Essie is a normal human who cannot use magic.
As a Niflheim citizen and noble, she is understandably in more danger than others in war-embittered Lucis.
As a noblewoman, there are a great many things she does not know how to do because it was unbecoming for her to learn.  These things include (but are not limited to): cooking, cleaning, mending, driving a vehicle, keeping track of her own appointments, buying her own groceries, etc.
Brief History:  Essie was born and raised in Gralea, where she also began her formal education.  With the first news concerning the “Vanishing Sickness” coming to the capital city, Lord Floortje evacuated his family immediately to Altissia, establishing there quickly and easily due to some connections with the more prominent citizens there.  They lived comfortably in the Protectorate for many years before the arrival of the Oracle, followed by the Lucian Prince and his Retinue.  With the arrival of Lord Commander Ravus, Lord Floortje begged Essie to cut her long, beautiful golden hair so he would not recognize her-- for an unknown reason, he feared their discovery in the city.  Eventually agreeing, she cut her hair to shoulder length, though she always held it against him after, as her hair was perhaps the most feminine part of her appearance.  With the awakening of the Tidemother and the fall of the city, Essie was forced to flee alone after discovering the deaths of her parents.  Unwilling to face the political machinations in store for her at the hands of her peers and superiors in Gralea, she went instead of Lucis by boat and began traveling.  In a sort of remembrance for her father, as well as a very traditional custom for mourning, she cut her hair again very short.  Wise enough to know the sentiments of Lucian folk toward Imperials, she made an attempt to hide her identity, particularly through the almost exclusive use of a nickname.

Dwayna smiles as she holds the babe, her granddaughter. Such love swells in her heart as the babe, sleeps gently in her arms. Despite being faceless, Dwayna can't help but see her son in her. The goddess smiles as the babe stirs and grips one of her fingers tightly, as if she was afraid the goddess would put her down.
“What is her name?” Dwayna asked, sparing a glance to her son- now the god of death. Grenth shifts closer to his daughter, barely a week old and already his pride and joy.
“I've decided on Caligo, mother.”
The Goddess Mother quirks up an eyebrow, “You've decided? What of her mother?”
“Desmina had made it clear she hadn't cared, as long as Caligo lives.”
Dwayna frowns at the thought of losing the babe, having to watch little Caligo dying of something makes her heart clench and tears spring to her eyes.
Her hand began to glow with a bright teal color, and gently, as to not disturb little Caligo, touched the babe's heart. She could not stop everything from harming her, but she could at least stop age from harming her.

I made a relationship chart with my Ocs + some canon characters. Originally I had the Sylvari connection lines, but that just made it even MORE hectic, so that version is below the cut + a version of just my Ocs

[@forsaken-constellation] 🖊🖊🖊 for Lady Caligo? ♥ (if you dont have 3 for her, feel free to sub someone else in for some! ^^)
Sure (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Tumblr media
Caligo is a daddy's girl! Although she has her mother's skin and hair, she was extremely close with Grenth and almost spent all of her time with him before they left.
Caligo's smokey black face is actually just black smoke, so if you stuck your hand in there it wouldn't feel like anything. This is actually what protected her from going blind, she doesn't technically have anything in there.
Caligo actually was around for GW1, she was after Orr sank, and befriended Salma, and help put her on the throne.

Lady Caligo the Death-mist, Daughter of Grenth
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Come to me, my dearest daughter, take my hand and leave this world with me. Come search with us for an untainted field to grow this garden in.”
The void-faced woman took his hand for a moment before releasing it, and then spoke. “I will not come with you, dearest father, I shall not abandon the souls of our people.”
The Skull-Masked god glowred, green flames sprouting to life in response, “The garden will wither and rot if we do not leave, my child. Even you will not be safe. Let me protect you.”
The Void-faced woman brought a pale hand to the gods face, “I know, dear father, but I must try, as you must try to find us a haven.”
Caligo is the child of Desmina and Grenth. She was created when he gifted Desmina his powers, the shared moment of unity unknowingly created her. When she was just born, her form was of a small, pale babe, as if all of her blood had been drained. However, the most striking of all was her face- or lack thereof. It was black and smoky, only an empty void. After the gods left Tyria, she decided to protect humanity in their absence. With the ability to take on the fallen's faces, she has spent many years pulling strings behind the curtains.

Here's my version of Countess Anise (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
As version my version of her is roughly 135 at the start of the personal story. She is the daughter of a Krytan commoner, and was born roughly 100 years after the foefire. She quickly rose through the ranks of the shining blade, but at 30 she was cut down during a mission with Lady Caligo (who was disguised) and Livia. She begged them both to not let her die, and to help her, that she wasn't ready yet, she still wanted to protect Kryta. Sadly, despite their efforts, she passed away due to her wounds. Livia turned to Caligo, and begged her to raise Anise. Once she did raise her, she gave her a single command, to protect Kryta. By Lady Caligo both not exerting her will over Anise giving her such a broad command, Anise was able to both keep her mind, and do whatever she though was best for Kryta. Afterwards, she spent years training under Livia to make her illusions nearly undetectable to hide her true appearance.

[@sunsrefuge] Is it legal to ask you about,, everyone's dating routes?? ♥ If only one is preferable, theeeeeen Athinri? :D
(this is pain actually because i desperately want to ask about. all of your listed characters akjsdhsn they're all so interesting and so cool!!)
Okay so this is Super long, but here are Spite, Athinri, Tanwyn, and Lady Caligo's routes under the cut :D Sorry this took SO LONG OMG
If you’ve ever seen a dragon age romance, or played SLB:P a mix of these two genres is kinda how I imagine they’d function, approval and lockoffs, and different endings based off of what you’ve said and done. Also, unless i specify lock offs they don’t got any :))
Spites route would start sometime after Trahearne's death, probably around LWS3/PoF. At first it would mainly consist of you supporting her and just helping her be level headed. This doesn't mean always agreeing with her though, she has always liked the difference in her and her partners. Kinda the "opposites attract" kinda person, but not too much of a degree. As she develops feelings, she will make herself scarce at first, but then as Spite falls for you more she will be around you more and be very protective of you. Spite will definitely be the one to confess to you, and plan most of your dates. The dates would typically be focused on things either you or both of you love. However, there are a few things you have to be okay with or the relationship will not get too far.
Firstly, and arguably most importantly her relationship to Aurene and her duty as her herald. Aurene is one of the most important things in Spite's life, and up until EoD she is going to be by her side constantly. Also, if you simply hate Caithe it probably wont work out, excpecially after LWS4. They’re bound to Aurene and each other, like it or not.
Second is her duty as the Commander. Usually every time something goes wrong, she's there to pick it up, and it always involves danger. It is going to be difficult to watch her walk into danger over and over again, but in times of peace she will be super doting and sweet to you.
Lastly, her two cats, her fern hound, Rian, her Crystalline Raptor and Skyscale. Originally the two cats and fern hound was Trahearne's, but after they became mates she ended up loving them too.
Best ending: You become mates and spend the rest of your life together. She becomes devastated after your death, and in her next life, she finds you again and can feel something pulling her towards you.
And of course, she falls for you all over again :)
Good ending: Although you do become mates, in your next lifes, Crystallight* finds you and you become friends, but never anything more.
Failed ending: Spite either breaks it off with you shortly after you get together, or while you are still in the flirting stage she cuts it off. Eventually she, not ghosts you, but it would be hard to get her to talk to you.
Crystallight is the name of Spite's next life :))
Athinri's route
Athinri's route is honestly a very sweet, first love relationship. Athinri definitely falls first, and it doesn't take much to get her to fall for you, and I honestly don't know how you would fail it?
Your relationship will move very slowly, and even before you become official she is very physically affectionate with you, cuddles, hugs, anything but having your first kiss can and is on the table. You'd probably be the one to confess, and when you did she'd probably throw herself on you for a hug and cry. The dates she takes you on would be very spur of the moment “i saw this small pond in the forest and i thought you’d love it.” You’d both make a lot of mistakes and have a lot of talks, but Athinri would always try to make it up to you in different way ex: baking you a cake that she knows you love, buying you something you’ve been wanting et cetera et cetera. The toughest part of the relationship would come around the end of season 2 / HoT when she discovers she was Wynne in her past life and all of that angst happens.
There are a few ways this could go, if you had any connections to Wynne, especially if you were lovers with Wynne, she’ll push you away and honestly no matter how much she loves you for now she wouldn’t be able to continue dating you. There’s just too much fresh trauma going on in her head right now to be able to keep going on. For now she needs to distance herself from Wynne and figure out just who she is.
If you push her to forgive OR to just straight up condem Caithe, hell, push her to make any decision that’ll really damage your relationship. Currently she needs a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen.
Best Ending: You help her get through HoT and live happily… at least till IBS… Honestly theres not much more to say, a very story book ending :))
Good Ending: She breaks up with you, she tells you how she just… cant be like Wynne right now, and her memories of Wynne and you hurt too much, and she needs time. She holds you at arms length, but eventually starts letting you get close again around PoF. After IBS but before EoD she opens up the idea of getting back with you, but she needs you to know she’s NOT Wynne, and if the reason you’re with her is because Athinri reminds you of her you can’t work out. For a few months you kinda need to prove to her that you love her for her.
Failed Ending: She breaks up with you, this results either forcing her into decisions or just being an ass to DW, DE, and just in general her friends.
Tanwyn's route: Okay so imagine trying to get Canach in a serious relationship. . . Yeah thats basically it. She got commitment issues, trauma and lots of it. IF you were asura it would make it a lot harder to do, but not impossible, BUT if you are or were inquest you would be locked off from getting with her. As a non-Soundless Sylvari it would kinda be mediumly difficult to get her approval, but not super hard. As a human you would have an average time, and if you were a Charr you would have the easiest time.
She’s very shy and sweet, but confident in her abilities. For most of it you’d be joking around and flirting with her, trying to get her to notice your feelings for her. She’s very oblivious, mainly due to not wanting to let herself get close to anyone, not wanting to misread your signals, and not wanting to ruin your friendship. IDK if you’ve ever played DA:I and DA2 but imagine a mix of non-sexual version of Isabela and josephine’s romances combined. It would probably take you literally telling her that you love her AND want to be (yes, you need to specify with her) for it to really begin. She tells you that, she doesn’t really think she could label you two as anything, but she still wants to try. Your relationship is still sweet, and you love each other but it really focuses on spur of the moment fun and what you’re doing right this second. There are a few things that can insta end your relationship.
Firstly, forcing her into getting a real relationship, or trying to get to to turn back to the dream will practically insta end it. The second one shes willing to understand, but take it to a certain extent and she’ll end it. Hating Ceara. She obviously understands hatred of her podtwin, but Tanwyn still loves her, and has worked hard to help Scarlet heal, and she is a HUGE part of her life, and too much hatred and dissing of Scarlet will eventually make her break up with you.
Best Ending: You stay together and have fun :) maybe one day you’ll be official? I wouldn’t bet on it but its a def possibility.
Good Ending: You break up and go your separate ways.
Failed Ending: Either she gets hired to kill you, or Scarlet hurts you as revenge for breaking Tanwyn’s heart.
Lady Caligo’s Route: I’ll be honest, this is extremely unlikely, but I can see her on one of her missions and you catch her eye and Caligo just needing to know more about you. Not even in a omg look how hot they are i need u  its just plain curiosity. Out of everything she’s seen and done, you’re one of the only things that have make her so curious and so excited. You two would hit it off honestly and spend a lot of time together. Eventually, after her mission is done, she has to fake her death. Or at least this persona’s death. Infact she crafts a persona just for you. Eventually she tells you who she is and drops the face she was using.
Honestly, I cant see Lady Caligo ending it at all. It would have to be you lol. Caligo would just completely dote over you, just imagine this immortal demi god making you tea and carrying you whenever you want her to. She would try desperately to find a way to make you immortal along with her with out raising you. Caligo would love you for just you. All of your faults and trauma she simply adores, not because she's happy your like that, but because it apart of you. Sorry Caligo’s is really short, but basically its just like the immortal being of immense power who adores their squishy mortal lover.
Best Ending: You spend the rest of your life and unlife with her :)
Good Ending: You Spend the rest of your life with Caligo, and after your death she wears your face almost always in honor of you and her love of you

My TWST Fan Homelands
Post about my Fan Homelands I've created for some of my ocs.
Kingdom of Goblet Muse
OCs that live here: Sigurd,Theodore,Wriesa
A city located on a barren wasteland corner of Briar Valley.
Info Post Here
Kingdoms of Sinterra
OCs that live here: All of Armonye,Zeki
Info Post Here
Iridescence
OCs who live here: Ireneo,Bennett,Fia,Hel
A kingdom of not many decades old. It is a rather odd one as it's a home to all insect and insect like humans who feel off from the world with others. Many species of butterfly, moths, and flies beasthumans live here with many other insect types mixed in. Citizens from here call themselves "Iridescenian" instead of their insect type.
Tumblr media
Ruler of Iridescence
Queen Thana,The 3 Eyed Butterfly
She has been the Queen for 2 decades now and is mother to Ireneo Khan of Serendipia. Very much a ruler with her own way about things she has 21 daughters yet only 1 son who she has chosen to be heir. Known for her many flings with men as to why so many children and her 3rd eye that lets her see things she hasn't disclosed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Due to the nature that most insect higher beings are demons then gods/goddesses many of Iridescence's deities are demons that require offerings in exchange from protection, nature balancing, and crop harvesting.
Left - Erin ~ A fly demon minion of Beelzebub,Lord of Flies. She answered the call from Thana who wished to have Lord Beelzebub as a deity but Erin appeared in his place as she has no idea where her lord is. As a show of kindness for her lord Erin offered to help in his stead. Erin is the stand in deity for crop harvesting and controls the bugs around the kingdom's farms from eatting crops and directs them to other places to feed.
Right - Lady Fia ~ An infernal demon from the underworld. She is their Deity of nature balance and ensures the natural cycle is in check so all well around them. Has minions to keep this up for her as she spends time at a magical college watching over Prince Ireneo,Heir to the Iridescence Throne.
Thana is currently working on finding a deity for protection so is grateful Fia has decided on own to protect her son somewhat.
It is very noticeable when there but Iridescence population is mostly all female. Thana knows why and it is a problem that she is working on fixing by having the heir being a male as the last king was the one who established the kingdom many decades ago.
Malaiscester
OCs from here:Michalis,Pankraz,Merrill,Diletta,Nasir
Full of industrial buildings both old and modern with the technology matching the aesthetics. The castle where the monarchy looks out place as while has some modern touches looks like a gothic castle with lights. It consists of three districts making up the city.
Caligo's Row
Where the royal family reside and all the military buildings
Haven 7
Home to all the businesses and working class homes
Violet Beat
The slums or lower class area
Magic doesn't exist here the same way as it does everywhere else. Malaisleans are usual all magicless and often are modified to be able to simulate they can wield magic technology or undergo dark experiments with magic beings/creatures to create..”special beings”. Long line Malaisleans are known for having an unusual white spot on their forehead that is called a “third eye”. All other citizens are not Long Line if dont have this.
The military is known for being ruthless and causing many wars in the name of the mad kings that have sat on the throne. They thrive on battle even if not directly related to them messing up others relations also satisfies.
Anyone born in Malaiscester to parent(s) who can't afford the tax to raise their child usually ends up in the military camp which houses children to teach them the basics til teens where they learn more skills in different areas of either warfare or stealth and master these by the time they are adults.
The current king hasn't made a public appearance in years and the prince has vanished but is rumored to be seen on an island known for magical education. Only heavy inspected imports/guests are ever allowed in if not from here. Anyone from here usually has a unique card or tattoo that grants them access back in.
Miseria Islet
OCs from here: Duane
3 close islands located beyond the coral sea that are covered by a heavy dark fog and rapid currents.
The Dark Break
A event that happened on the islet where Duane tried to use a powerful necromancy spell to bring back Renata, the late queen but angered her instead resulting in her cursing him and the entire area by stabbing him in the chest with his own sword. A dark mist soon poured out of the hole. People call this the dark break as to those who witness the stab it sounded like something breaking amd then just darkness covered everything.
The mist has negative thought altering powers that when exposed to for a certain amount consume your mind if weak and turns you into a undead creature fitting to those thoughts. Duane has managed to get the mist under control mostly as only one island has it lingering on it and the less he holds onto pain the less seeps out of his chest.
Monarchy
Miseria is ruled by one King who does let his advisors run things as his mind is distracted alot but he ultimately has sole say so on approving everything.
Duane Lovato Bardales is the current king. Unlike most of the born/living citizens after the break by sheer physical will Duane was able to retain part of his humanity so he is half undead.
Citizens
The people of Miseria mostly consist of undead beings namely zombies, wraiths, vampires, ghouls, etc. There is also ghost, banshees and reapers roaming about on Mistfall island only.
Every born citizen up until the dark break were alive and after all turned undead if didn't flee the Islet in time. Most were unable to as not enough boats were available. They retained their mortal minds however. Since most are stuck at their body age when break happened all those who were children at time have been aged to adult forms via magic by order of the king.
Islands
Behind the fog is the islands each with a unique appearance. Only Mistfall is covered in lighter but still heavy fog.
Wisteria Island
Known for the miles upon more miles of Wisteria flowers in white, blue, and violet tones across the land. The ordinary undead citizens that do not wish to dwell in the mist live here in many small villages with a bigger town being the center of the island. They are immune to the toxins of the flowers so don't mind them.
Mistfall Island
The island with the eternally blue flame burning roof castle on top a hill. A mist covers the air that if not strong willed will fill the living with negative thoughts til consumed and turned into a undead being.
There is quite a few who are of the living that been living here too so know they are very unique individuals. While most of the islet's affairs and such are handled here at the castle usually by the king or his advisors the chance of the king being here is rare or scheduled as he doesn't live in the castle anymore.
Renata's Isle
Island that looks practically normal compared to the other two. Theres no mist or single assortment of plants. Only one town here and is where all the citizens and visitors can live together. Various statues carved stone, gemstones, crystal, and gold are scattered around as landmarks.
They are in the graceful form of Renata, the late queen of Miseria in various outfits she once wore to ones Duane has dreamed her in. Following them eventually leads you to her very highly elegant and guarded tomb where theres a plain looking house nearby that is where Duane lives. The house is Renata's home she grew up in. He based everything on the island to her.
