they're not too old, but im still quite fond of these two pieces from 2022 :') i wasn't very comfortable with bgs yet when i made the first piece, so im pretty proud of what i was able to do! and for the second one: i still really love the concept i went for... i think I'd have lots of fun revisiting it in the present (^_^)

14. Do you prefer to make fan content or original content?

fan content 100%! i enjoy having existing stuff to build on, especially when it's with something i truly love! I've been a bts fanartist since 2018 and a hermitcraft one since 2021, so fandom is a pretty large part of my identity as an artist! and personally, sharing and interacting with others in my fandoms is truly one of the best things that comes with being a fanartist :D

Bambi Lesbian (ace lesbian) In the 80s there was a term for lesbians that were specifically ace: Bambi (stripes: butch, stem, femme, andro, nonbinary & trans) I'm not actually sure how true this is, but I remember seeing a post about it

2. Fem-Nonbinary (she/they) + Masc-Nonbinary (he/they)

These are basically outdated completely since other people have created very similar versions; if not the exact same thing

3. Queer Army

This one has a lot to explain. I am in no way a supporter of war, obviously- but I've noticed the closest thing gay-veterans have is the flag that's for an army kink; and that doesn't... feel right?

I felt it was needed since being queer in the military is discriminated against both while both in AND out of it-- so this one is for all of the gays, queers, etc that had to go into the military for any reason (to put themselves through school, to get benefits(?), draft, etc)

(each of the stripes in the background represents the branches of the military Light blue: Air-force, Pale blue: Marines, Pale cyan(?): Coast Guards, Dark blue: Navy, Green: Army)

4. Ambi

er... kinda? I made this before I knew about the term ambi (within the context of mono/poly) specifically for myself since I didn't feel 100% mono or 100% poly

tbh with the infinity sign and seeing it again myself its giving me autism vibes so ig younger me accidently made an autism-poly flag?? Has anyone made a QPR flag...?

5. Parsexual (masc) + Parsexual (fem)

This one is important to me: its one I made specifically for myself, as a label to use after people got angry at me just calling myself gay & I felt the labels I did have were long-winded to say & 'queer' didn't quite fit. The original one I made had symbols on it (heart and spade; heart for sexual/romantic & spade for ace/romantic)

the main difference between Masc + Fem is the colour swap The Masc one is sexual/romantic towards men/masc & ace/romantic towards women/fem; so the Fem is reversed

The name is a combo of partial & sexual (it made sense to my brain)

(Stripes: Colours: light blue - femme men, darker blue - andro men, purple - masc men, white - nonbinary/andro/fluid/etc, pink - femme women, orange - andro women, dark orange - masc women)

Hey, I'm putting this in some Quackity tags, specifically for some answers and spread awareness on it, so if you see this, yes it's related to Q, but more specific the QuackGiveaways account on twt

(it's a long one, so if you don't wanna read through, I'm cutting the more section here haha)

I know this is usually against tumblr tag etiquette, I'm sorry for that.

From the replies still there it seems like some random person's account, replying to things during 2022 but I thought I saw it get swapped over during the 12th (August 12th 2023) at around 7 PM EST, so just a few days ago, and so the replies don't add up. I haven't seen anyone talk about it and it's strange. Did Blays own the account name and handed it over during the giveaway time and then deleted every trace of the account being in Q's hands in the past few days?

Anyways, does anyone know who "Blays" is besides their main account and why they (now?) have the QuackGiveaways account on twt (the merch giveaway account that was active during the Las Nevadas merch drop, "made" to prevent main account spam [made in quotations because it says the account was made in 2019?])?

It's still linked in the QuackityMerchh (has 2 hh's but it's got the official yellow "organization" checkmark and affiliates with all Q's accounts) account bio and it's all confusing.

On Blays's main account (blaystweets) it has a checkmark, but that could be a blue sub, they run an Origins SMP (and have a "verified" account for it under OriginsSMP_ which is also highly possibly a blue sub) and they posted on the Origins "verified" account showing a screen recording of them switching accounts [EDIT: i kept this post as a draft all day as I'm slowly working on it, it looks like they deleted this and any of their other posts that outright said they hacked into it, but put up a screen recording of just them clicking the QuackGiveaways @ in the Merch account bio and showing the profile I screenshotted and have above.]

They also posted about "hacking" into other accounts, except those accounts seem to be their friends unlike the QuackGiveaways account.

There's also a QSMPGiveaways_ account which looks to be part of the same group of people Blays associates with and the name was changed recently but shows absolutely zero signs of being official, especially since it's not tagged in any of the official QSMP account directories and there's nothing the QSMP has to "giveaway" in the first place. That account has been used to fool fans into thinking they won free Quackity while Blays laughs at said fans.

[edit: it seems like the Origins account is also partially run by "Ark" @ _Ark58, who seems to have small bursts of activity on their personal account]

I tried to message the QuackityMerchh account because it was the only official account that has dms open, but I haven't heard back and it doesn't say that it was seen. Which, makes sense considering if the dms are open, they probably get flooded every single day with nonsense. I'm debating whether or not I should send an email, but right now I just want people to be aware about it.

That's all I know so far about this, unfortunately. I've been too busy the past few days to look into it again. It's just the dates of the account being created and some of these replies that's throwing me off.

I also think a lot of the tweets I saw and spoke about got purged yesterday (started forming this post last night on august 14th) which is why I couldn't gather any screenshots of the tweets themselves :/

YiZhan Fandom Interview with Renren !!

Preface:

In my attempt to sort out all the massive information that is generated almost daily in the BJYX fandom, I came up with an idea to interview prominent 🐢 for pointers, recommendations and advice as kind of a starter compilation kit for newbies.

Also, my intent is to provide some translations of the interviews (if you’re also interested in translating, let me know thru’ my twt acc below) for international fans and contribute my grain of salt to thin the language barriers and get to know more fans or simply, know your fave person in fandom.

With that being said, this is my first interview, so any constructive FB is welcome!

So, the first question is kind of a mandatory introduction.

Q. Please, tell us a bit about yourself. How you like to be called or how do you go by in this fandom and how long you’ve been in the swamp?

I’m Renren, but most folks call me Ren. I’m a fic writer and a szd shipper (which for new folks means I believe they’re actually in a relationship, this is also called being a tinhat lol).

I watched The Untamed in January 2021, and then watched the official BTS, and saw a shipper in the comments and was like “huh, people ship real people?” I was no stranger to shipping fictional characters (I’ve written Reylo before), but RPS was brand new to me. But the more I watched of the BTS and then the unofficial BTS, I was like, oh yeah, there’s something here. The cave BTS sealed it for me.

So, I’ve been in the pit since January/February 2021. I lurked for a long time, then joined fandom more actively in the fall of 2021, and started writing and released my first Yizhan fic in Jan 2022.

This is your first RPS? Wow, how cool is that? To debut with such a power couple! ☺️

Q. When you were a lurker, which SNS did you mostly use?

Q. Where are you most active/ favorite place to dabble in fandom-wise?

I lurked on tumblr mostly, and read Twitter without an account. I didn’t make one until August, and I don’t think I used it to post until September/October 2021.

I think I had a different one when I signed up, but I can’t remember it - I chose it because I like tentacles lol

As in a fic trope/kink? or something else? 😆

Both lol, I’ve always loved octopuses, I think they’re darling, but I also enjoy tentacles as a trope.

We’ll come to that later~~! There’s a question regarding that afterwards.

Q. What was your first drive/motivation to start writing about them? Would you share a link to your first fic?

It was Xiao Zhan’s lightsaber video!!! I had this idea for a Star Wars AU with the two of them, and it took me over body and soul and I finally had to write it. The first story I posted though was the first Golden Girls AU,

then the Star Wars AU came out a month later.

By the way, you guys have to go read Renren’s Golden Girls AU cos I can assure you, you are going to enjoy it SO much, if you haven’t already!!

So on to the next one!

Q. How many fics have you written so far? Which one is the one that you’re most fond of and why?

I’ve written 15 Yizhan fics so far, and drawn 10 mushroom fanarts! I’m not sure I can pick a favorite, but it’s between “Fireworks in the Stars” because it’s an original concept that I’ve been playing with for years and want to eventually write a full original novel with it, and “Houseboat of Love”, because I had so much fun with the exes-to-lovers concept. It was a bit angsty but I also wanted it to be a fun time with Xiao Zhan thirsting hard for his not-actually-ex-husband.

But I love everything I’ve published, if I don’t love it, I don’t release it.

I had totally missed that Renren’s mushroom posts are fanarts! I had to rush to see them and they are all SOSOSO Adorable, with capital A! The puns are sublime. I loved them all to bits and she has confirmed there’s more to come in the future!! Be on the look out, you guys!! 🥹🥹

Q. What’s your favorite trope to write/draw or a new one that want to try this year?

Oh, that’s hard! Because it’s different from my favorite tropes to read.

I really like to write getting together stories, especially if there is only one bed/they’re stuck together in some way.

But this is the year I’ll finally write tentacles, which is actually so much harder than I thought because a) I want to do it justice since I love it so much and b) there is SO MUCH choreography involved with all the extra limbs. You Belong in My Arms is my tentacle WIP, with chapter one out. Chapter one just has a cute octopus and tentacle kink, but no actual use of tentacles in a sexy way.

I will just restrain myself to say that Renren’s octopus is so cute like an underwater jianguo. I am hopelessly hooked to her fic that am anxiously looking forward to new chapters! But I digress…

Q. Are you bjyx, zsww or lsfy? Is this dynamic important to you when writing? (Or reading?)

So I am a bjyx-leaning lsfy. I enjoy reading everything, but I prefer writing bjyx or Yibo top lsfy.

That sounds like it’s the same thing, but the power dynamics are different between them (bjyx Yibo is IN CHARGE while it’s much more neutral in lsfy).

You mean like, Yibo makes the move? Or that he decides how he wants XZ?

Yeah, in BJYX makes most of the decisions, he’s very dominant in the bedroom and outside of it.

I like strong Yibo, indeed 😏

Q. What’s your most fave 🍬? Have you written about it? Where do you get most of your 🍬 sources?

My most favorite candy is the tattoo cpn! I have used it, most literally in an unreleased work, but I love to give both of them tattoos in my works anytime I can.

My candy sources are from Twitter (overthinkingthis, ecah, shirasagis, ventus for older candies) and tumblr (accio-victuuri), and I avoid folks sharing stalker footage or making wild claims like they know someone in the business or disparage their co-stars, because it’s harmful to the boys & just flat out rude.

I think for us newbies, we need to be careful and prudent on that and not fall for everything we see or outright edited (fake) info, cos it’s becoming harder to distinguish 😵‍ (out of my own experience)

So, the next question is selective, you can choose either or both…

A) Did you read THE fic? The controversial 22/7 one? How did you like it? How would you end it?

AND/OR

B) Do you wanna talk about wyb’s latest NYG’s LtS performance?

A) I didn’t. I didn’t even go looking for it, it has so many emotions and events attached to it, I think it’s best to just let it rest. No judgment for folks who decide to read it, though! Just my opinion.

B) Yes I do!! it was gorgeous and emotional, all about the yearning and longing you feel when you’re away from your partner and the bright warmth you feel when you’re back with them. It felt real, like he was pulling it from the depths of his soul.

It’s raw and vulnerable, and he did such a good job, I’m so proud of him! (And no, I don’t think it’s a breakup song or born from anything other than long distance relationships being hard.)

That performance was so heartfelt indeed 🥲

Q. Who is a content creator (writer, artist, v/blogger… etc) you would rec to a newbie? (Name as many as you wish) And lastly, a piece of advice for newbie 🐢!

Oh gosh, so many people! It’s hard to not just list all of my friends lol.

OldObsess/Overthinkingthis is a fantastic writer and candy librarian, her fics have great footnotes with all the different things she references in her fics.

Elisamiao is another amazing writer and she is so supportive of new writers in the fandom. I call her the fandom’s librarian because she is fantastic at fic recommendations, and can find what you’re looking for so fast!

Jalpari runs great events, and is a prolific writer, her Yizhan Through the Years is the first/second most kudos’d fic in the fandom. She is also very supportive of new authors/artists in the fandom!

BJYXObsessed is hilarious, her fics are so good and her meme threads are laugh out loud funny, I see them all over the place as reaction memes.

Bjyxnoa is a great update account on Twitter, and for deep cpn and candy discussions I like to go to Accio-victuuri on tumblr.

A piece of advice I have for new turtles is to not worry too much about proof of their relationship. They don’t have to prove anything to us, and each person has to decide for themselves how to interpret the things they do tell us. Everyone has their own “realness” comfort level, and that’s okay! It’s okay to be 100% szd and it’s okay to not be!

Lastly, their privacy is extremely important. Stalker footage is wrong, even if it “proves” what you want to see.

And don’t break the fourth wall with them, for example, if Yibo makes another Instagram post, don’t flood the comments with shipper comments, their social accounts are for work, and so we should keep our comments to the individual and the work they’re doing.

In the last days I thought about how my blog will be and if I want to change something now that Yuzu has gone pro and what you can expect from me in the future.

I also received lots of new followers since Beijing 2022 and though I am pretty sure you notice yourself what kind of account this is - maybe the reason you followed - I want to put some things in words.

I am sorry that this is rather long and maybe not needed as things won't change much in here. Just most of you know I tend to talk a lot (see why Twt character limit kills me!)

A short introduction on me and my skating journey as a fan...(skip it if you already know this 😅)

You can call me Jenni and I am from Germany 😊 Thank you for following my mess of a blog!

I roughly follow figure skating now for 15 years. I originally followed mostly ladies in the Yuna and Mao era and Pairs. After Yuna's retirement (btw congrats on your engagement Yuna 🎉) I developed an interest for men skating when I saw Yuzu's Parisienne Walkways. I knew Yuzu's name long before that, but never followed his path as closely. It drastically changed after Sochi 2014. Because I lost track of my Yuzu content on my main blog I started this Yuzu blog. In December 2015 (I think 😅) this blog was started. With the GP series in 2015 I discovered Shoma's skating and started to keep track of Shoma as well. I especially loved and still love the Yuzu/Shoma dynamic. In the next years I started to learn all about how to differentiate jumps etc and how scoring works. So even if I am by far an expert I know what I am talking about when we talk about scoring. I don't just follow the most popular opinion on things and learned to demand proof for certain complaints. This way you can always find out who just repeats and who actually knows stuff.

Now back to my original post intention...

I have always emphasized that this is a Yuzu AND Shoma blog! This won't change!

But ofc admittedly I suppose in the near future you will see more about Shoma than Yuzu on here especially when the competitions start. You will find infos on Shoma's competitions, any shows Yuzu or Shoma participate in and my opinion on things skating related and some complaints about fandom and fans probably

I will keep my account name as it is though as it's still true. (my account name is "Spring Awakening" musical song reference for anyone wondering)

Tbh I also have lost some of my enthusiasm about skating in the last years. So sometimes you will find me uninspired or not being active much. It's not really related to Yuzu or Shoma, just a general feeling that fandom has changed for worse in my opinion (the unnecessary fights and policing about who I am allowed to support is getting on my nerves). But maybe it bothers me more now or part of me has grown up and moved on from the fandom, because while it's annoying I often think "whatever" and not really care much anymore, not much is getting to me now. There were times I thought about deleting all accounts altogether or retiring them but I decided against it, because I am not yet ready to give up on this sport, my faves and I still enjoy the interactions with you and the lovely ppl I met through competitions and yeah tbf I can't keep my mouth shot 😅 Also I invested so much time in this blog - while I also had lots of fun - , I don't want it gone. I am kinda proud of this.

Just for clarification: I am not anti Nathan or Yuma or any of Yuzu's or Shoma's rivals. In fact I think all skaters at elite level are admirable, just that some skaters' skating are not my cup of tea. Sorry Nate and Yuma. I think there is absolutely no reason for hate on any skater - being critical is not hate per se (Unless there is specific horrendous rumors/facts about a person like antisemitism, abuse or any of that kind I have no reason to hate any of them)

The ISU is a touchy subject as I do think there is loads to change about it and I am not a fan of the direction the sport is taking, especially in ladies. Reforms are needed. You will see me complain about scoring! But keep in mind 1st I don't claim to be an expert, 2nd though I try to be objective I am certainly biased, 3rd I don't agree with ppl saying Shoma's scores are all whack bc some is indeed too high but some other qualities also not rightfully awarded, 4th I don't necessarily think the wrong ppl win even if I don't agree on some scores.

I love this sport a lot and I personally love going to competitions and tbh I am more into competitions than shows. It's the way it is. I also watch all disciplines, but ofc here I post about Yuzu and Shoma.

I will always share my opinion on everything skating related that interests or bothers me, but it's an opinion of many so I don't need anyone to agree with me. It's a personal take on things and I also always tag it with #personal. I am not telling you what to think ever, I can only offer MY perspective and personal experience or knowledge. Btw I don't do this blog for followers or likes (you can't even see how many followers I have on here - a feature I love) so like not like, love or hate my content I don't care. This is for me mostly, I am happy though if I have mutuals here 😊

In the last year I received lots of asks in my inbox and tbh I wasn't used to this before. I cannot promise to answer all of you, but be sure that I do read all of it and that I am happy when I can help or just laugh and celebrate with you. (I also read tags in the reblogs so you know) It may take time to answer, so please be patient with me.

The current plan for this season is to go to the Nebelhorn Trophy, GP France and the GPF for the 2022-2023 season. I always love to meet new skating fans, so write me a message if you want to meet me in person at an event.
