Intuitive Free Writing
(Decided to make this its own post.)
Free Writing is a method of journaling but can also be used to communicate with entities such as deities. It can also help to develop your clairs. It's pretty simple to do and you can also do it via typing or probably even voice recording if those are more accessible for you. It involves writing your stream of consciousness without worrying about grammar or spelling.
Here is how you can do it:
Grab a notebook or whatever you are going to write/type with. Include a timer if you want to set a time limit.
Set up in a space where you will not be interrupted and have nothing distracting you. It can be quiet or with instrumental music (avoid music with lyrics unless you want to see if certain lyrics pop out to you).
Make an offering (optional) and pray to/invite the deity you want to speak to.You can use a divination tool to confirm their presence if you wish.
Ground and center yourself in the present. You want to get into a receptive, meditative state or as close to it as you are able to have.
Start writing. I usually start with something intentional to get the ball rolling such as "I am listening" or whatever just to get my hands moving.
Write everything that comes to mind or into your awareness - and do not try to control any of it or make judgements about it. You are just receiving right now. Don't worry about spelling or grammar or anything like that. If you smell chocolate then write that down. If you feel dumb doing this then write it down. If your mind is blank then write what you hear or smell or see or just write that your mind is blank.
You may notice in the moment that some things feel different or are definitely not your own thoughts. It may be easy to know what is your deity's message or it may not. If you do notice/feel something then you can write it down or make a little note with a symbol like a * or just be aware of it and continue.
Stop when the timer goes off or when it feels right or when your deity has delivered their message. Thank them.
Read over what you have written. I like to use highlighters here: one color for what was definitely my own thoughts and another for what I am certain is from the deity. You can also have a color for sensory observations, or wherever you're uncertain about where the thought or image comes from, or if you notice something that may be more towards the shadow work side of things or negative thoughts, etc.
Make a note on your experience. How did you feel? Did you sense any energies? Did you feel something different when you were getting down certain words? Reflect a bit on the experience.
If you want you can copy the results into a neater or summarised format then do so! If you have messy handwriting and some words are a mess then go in and make it clearer what the word is. You may look back months later and you don't want to be confused what word that one scribble is supposed to be! I have two journals, one to do this exercise in and one woth the neater notes and summaries.
It may take time to get comfortable doing this and to develop discernment but I've found it very helpful personally!

~ 🌷 Witchy things you can do to honour yourself, your craft and your deities! 🌷 ~
~ 🌷 This will be a long post! 🌷 ~
- Spend time in nature (go hiking, meditate outdoors, collect some river water, make some sun water, plant something etc)
- Interact with your pets (example, dogs are often associated with Hekate so you could play with them or take them on a walk etc.)
- Donate to a shelter or charity in the name of your deity.
- Create a protection charm to add to your dog or cat’s collar. Our companions need protection sometimes too!
- Do your self-care as an act of devotion to yourself and your deity (you could do your skincare as devotion for Aphrodite for example.)
- Have a cleansing bath or shower. You can create a pouch full of cleansing and protective herbs to use.
- Make a piece of artwork for your deities. It could be a painting, clay vase, etc.
- Make a playlist of songs that give you positive energy or remind you of your deity.
- Make a journal or scrapbook about the things you love about your craft to remind you why you are practising.
- Do a daily card pull in the morning. This can be to see how your day will go or what you should be focusing on etc.
- Stir intentions into your drink in a morning (anti-clockwise to remove negativity, clockwise to bring in positivity. You can also say what you wish to manifest for that particular day. You may need an extra boost of inspiration for example.)
- Do some spell work with your deity. Ask them to give you aid with it or to protect you whilst you are doing it.
- Consider enchanting an item. It could be jewellery, a plant, a decorative item in your home etc.(If you would all like, I can make a post of how I personally like to enchant objects.)
- Tidy up your home. This one may seem a bit odd but please read my explanation as to why it is important to take care of your home. Different rooms in your home can be associated with different parts of your life. If you want to manifest something in part of your life, You need to take care of your home in order for your manifestation to work. Your kitchen is connected to your health and health of your household. Your bathroom is connected to your finances and the flow of finances in your household. Your bedroom is connected to the happiness and prosperity of your romantic relationships. Your living room is connected to your relationships with your friends and family.
- Learn how to read candles. Candles are commonly used as an offering to deities and for manifestation workings but sometimes you can have other entities trying to communicate with you via the candle flame. I personally have had ancestors messing about with candles, Not just deities.
- Use colour magick associations when picking out your outfit for the day. For example black is most commonly used as a protection colour.

PLEASE READ
Ok so serious post, I'll keep it short with two links to look at for more context.
Hi, I'm from the Philippines and there's currently an aggressive tension between my country and China because of the importance of the West Philippine Sea. China has been doing illegal fishing and other activities in the West Philippine Sea.
Recently Chinese Coast Guards used lasers and TEAR GAS to distract the army, stole weapons and boats.
More sources and info in this thread and context here
Please guys, I urge you to spread this post around! Please let everyone know that this issue may result in war, PLEASE BOYCOTT CHINESE PRODUCTS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN
Thank you for sharing

The reblogs on my post about educating ourselves about psychosis arguing that psychosis is “sometimes harmless” or that “it doesn’t have clear diagnostic sets” when I not only listed diagnostic sets but linked scientific and medical studies on how to identify psychosis are proving my point about how rampant and dangerous spiritual psychosis is in religious communities.
Psychosis is not harmless. It’s not ambiguous. It’s life-threatening and dangerous. It may look innocent from the start, but that’s the threat: when it starts interfering with your life and happiness, it becomes a much bigger problem. Like any disorder, it has the potential to worsen, and even if it’s a harmless delusion at the start, it can easily develop to something much worse that not only puts you at risk, but others, too.
I’m not even going to respond considering the sources I linked that gave a direct and clear definition of psychosis and how dangerous it is, were completely ignored. Obviously I’m not out to get spiritual communities with my spread of awareness which is what some folks seem like they’re taking it. I’m a spirit worker, eclectic witch, and pagan - and I survived psychosis and still exist in numerous online and in person religious communities (I have a coven). I’m not out to “damage” trust in these communities, I’m out to raise awareness as to how the ignorance to psychological problems contributes to a wide set of issues in spiritual circles. I want to make our religious and spiritual communities safer.
This is the problem in these communities. There is no excuse. Educate yourselves.
Do better.

sometimes it's really awkward worshipping gods/goddesses as I always think they're in the room with me. i js did something really embarrassing, and now I'm like "they're laughing at me. I js embarrassed myself, and they're laughing at me 💔"

Annual reminder to Witchblr: "the whole world used to be all Pagan before Christianity showed up" is an incredibly colonialist way of thinking.

A person can worship a goddess and still be a raging misogynist.
I see this all the fucking time, too, and the "b-but I'm pagan!" line does get trotted out.
Yeah, no. I don't care how devoted you (claim you) are to Hecate/Freya/Babalon etc, I care how you treat flesh-and-blood people.
You can't pretend that "worshiping a goddess" makes someone, by default, not a misogynist. I see guys who have a (weird) notion of "divine femininity;" a perfect nurturing caregiver of sorts. They then get irate when a woman won't take that role for them.
They expect a (very narrowly-defined) goddess, and when they don't get one, they get mad. I end up reading their rants online as a bystander. A lot of these guys will claim the woman has somehow betrayed them, isn't pagan enough, or is an evil supernatural being?! Vampire? It's sometimes something like that.
On another note? Many transphobes are also very loud about how they "worship goddesses." They're, of course, equally loud about their disrespect for women, though. There's some "trad pagan" types, too (or whatever they're now called) who believe in goddesses - but also believe that women belong in the kitchen.
So yeah. Don't assume someone's safe and not bigoted simply because they worship Demeter or whoever. Don't let them claim that their goddess patron absolves any shitty behavior. This is a thing that keeps popping up, and I think people should be mindful of it. Don't let people like the above act as if worshiping Minerva, Aphrodite, or Juno (or whoever) gives them a free pass to be a bigot.
Also? A whole fucking civilization can worship goddesses and still be a terrible place for women.
That doesn't mean that those pantheons are misogynistic. It also doesn't mean that those reconstructing the religions are misogynists. It means that it's possible to have systemic goddess worship and misogyny together.
Don't give me that "b-but in some very specific scenarios, rich women could even *gasps of joy* own property!" either. Don't act like the mere existence of priestesses meant women there held great power, or even that the priestesses themselves necessarily did.
You can't take that kind of thing to mean that your average woman had basic rights in some of these pagan societies. In some cases, that was the case, yeah, but it's hardly been the majority. From what I've read over the years, a lot of it depended on wealth and status.
Even in Ancient Athens (pre-Pericles), women weren't considered citizens, exactly. They could take part in some religious ceremonies, but not most. While they had some financial freedom, they were generally relegated to domestic roles.
Colette Hemingway from the Metropolitan Museum describes this as "extreme social restraint." It doesn't sound like I'd want to live in that kind of civilization, even if I had modern creature comforts. It's similar elsewhere in the ancient world. Not everywhere, but enough places. Don't pretend otherwise.
Much of our history has included misogyny. This isn't a new thing. It was part of paganism. It unfortunately still is. Pretending "we were all considered equal before the Christians came" is disingenuous. And yeah, I've heard people make that exact claim in pagan places.

Hi hi!! I've got a bit of a burning (pun intended) question. Do you happen to know anything about fire scrying? I'm new to divining with fire and was hoping for some general tips! Thank you for existing your blog is really cool ⭐️
Oh thank you so much! It's nice to know that people like my blog, especially since I've been too busy to post properly lately. Also, pun received, I am overjoyed. /gen
However, sadly- fire scrying is not something I work with. I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm asthmatic and prone to headaches- staring into a bright flame, or even working with candles often in general, is something my body would strongly disagree with lol. I've only ever owned a few candles at a time, and the closest I get to interpreting the flame is looking at my deity candles like "make it wiggle if you want some of my soda." My area of divination is mostly just working with my cards/"Idk man I just get vibes" type stuff.
But I can at least say this; Anyone who has any tidbits they think might be helpful, if you're able to reblog or reply with an answer better than mine please do!

my art teacher keeps mentioning mythology which I would usually love except he is always wrong. sir. apollo and dionysus are not twins. dionysus is not god of the moon. athena is not aphrodite. this needs to stop 💀💀
Mate, no offence but I already dont like your art teacher
Like....where did he get his info from? Lore Olympus?
Actually i hate to say it but even Rachel Smythe isnt that inaccurate. She knows....a bit more.
Please ask him where he gets his information from for me lmao

Thinking of when I was little and I kept having these feelings like I was floating above my bed while sleeping (not the falling dream - I distinctly remember floating above my bed for a solid few seconds before I came to and landed back on the mattress) and my ultra-religious family thought I was possessed or "disturbed" but I was a Percy Jackson kid so one night when it happened I jokingly banged my fist on the floor and told Hades to knock it off (thinking it would do nothing) and then that feeling never happened again.

I just got a wheelchair. My very own wheelchair, not just a transport chair, and honestly I couldn’t be happier! I can finally move myself around and make my life a bit easier!!
So to certain family who keep saying “the goal is to not use it.” “You don’t want to be stuck in that thing, girl.” “You’re too excited, you don’t want to use that too much” “Your grandmother should use that, not you”
Yes. Yes I do want to be in it, yes I am excited, yes it is for me. Wanna know why? Cause it’s a mobility aid, ya doofuses. It’s supposed to help, and I may not be old but I’m disabled. So yeah, I’m excited to use it, because it gives me back a bit of freedom. It gives me more autonomy over where I go, and it’ll help me be more mindful of my body and its limits now that I actually have something to help.
It’s called a mobility aid for a reason. So if I need to use it, I’m not going to feel bad.
I’m disabled and that’s not a bad thing. It’s nit something to be ashamed of. It’s a part of who I am, and that’s okay.
Anyways, I named my wheelchair Bibble and I’m going to put a bibble sticker on it.
Hail Hephaestus!! If my family ain’t got me, I know he got me 😌💕
