Daily Check-in: April 17, 2024 🎀
today was a decent day up until the end, when I got upset and emotional over some things and ended up crying again. I swear, I've cried the last 6 out of 7 nights, and I'm so tired of it. here's to hoping things finally get better soon because this emotional stuff is seriously affecting my productivity, motivation, and discipline.
🩷 What I Accomplished:
studied chapter 6 of Latin American Spanish on Busuu
listened to 3 podcast episodes in Spanish
completed and submitted my lab report and pre lab quiz, also did my pre lab notebook prep
went to my last chem lab for the semester
went to chem lecture
had a meeting with the Dietetic director to map out some classes for the upcoming semesters
washed dishes
attempted a phone call with my boyfriend for the first time in a week (relationship issues + long distance × love ÷ dating for 2 years = an emotional rollercoaster, and lots of frustration)
washed laundry, did not put away yet
scheduled a therapy session for tomorrow morning
completed a 7 minute pilates abs workout from Madeliene Abeid
completed the 11 minute wake up yoga from Yoga with Adriene
started to do the 5 min daily stretch from Pamela Reif but my dad called me so I didn't finish it
downloaded a pdf of a Spanish textbook
rescheduled my italki lesson because I need to study for chem
scheduled 2 study rooms to study for chem with my chem lab partner
completed the pre class assignment for chemistry
walked ~8k steps
🩷 Good Things That Happened:
saw my dad this morning, who then took me to the campus library a bit early (I love getting to see my dad, I don't get to see him too often since he lives on the opposite side of town)
passed my lab report and pre class assignment
finished my chem lab super fast
had pizza rolls for dinner (I needed something quick and simple cause I've been tired)
got more practice with the chemistry lecture content
woke up esrly enough to do my morning routine
did a complete night routine, including skincare (-didn't read tho, couldn't decide on a book )
more good things happened, I just honestly can't remember them right now. but today was not a bad day.
💗 Stuff For Thursday:
psyc doc appointment
therapy appointment
supplemental chemistry class hours
make sure I'm caught up on homework
apply to/write essays for some scholarship applications
check hours worked if possible to determine next week's paycheck
study Spanish!!! dedicate a good chunk of time to it
do my morning and night routine as best as possible
Thursday is definitely going to be an interesting day, thats for sure. I don't feel as tho I'll have as much to do, but I'm going to find things to do, like studying my Spanish, etc.

This product is versatile and can be used for a variety of skin-related issues, like hyperpigmentation, acne, scars, and uneven skin tone. However, in the summers I personally use it for my daily underarm botox fix. By applying the serum on my underarms and leaving it there for around 15 minutes before washing it off, I'm able to eliminate unpleasant smells and excessive sweating for the rest of the day. I live in an area with high temperatures during the summer, and white clothes is a common choice for me and I want to avoid any unpleasantness, that's why this product is a must-have for me.

Exercising and working out is one of my favorite things to do, as it energizes me and gives me the results that I want. The first thing I do in the morning is get moving, and there's nothing quite like a good workout to start my day off right. During the summer months, I prefer focusing on building my glutes, toning my abs, and working on my overall physique, and I love some of Pamela Reif's videos. To achieve my fitness goals, I have curated a list of my favorite exercises and enjoy following videos along with my gym routine. Maintaining consistency in my workout routine is something I prioritize, I always focus on consistency and not results, which has helped me achieve all of my fitness goals.

I recently purchased a handmade pair of sunglasses from Karl Wagner, and they are oval acetate and smaller than what I usually go for but quite nice. As someone who has had laser eye surgery and hates making eye contact with strangers, eye protection is especially important to me year-round, but particularly during the summer when the sun's harmful UV rays are stronger. And because the skin around my eyes is very thin, excessive squinting can lead to wrinkles, so I take extra care to shield my eyes from the sun's rays by applying a generous amount of sunscreen and sunglasses.
White tennis skirts!

Summertime calls for a wardrobe shift for me and I make it a point to switch out my darker skirts for lighter options in shades like baby pink and white. I find that these colors perfectly capture the essence of summertime and make me feel light and breezy. One of my favorite things about wearing white tennis skirts is that they go with just about any top, so I have endless outfit options to mix and match. To complete the look, I typically opt for white sneakers or sandals, both of which add a touch of freshness to the overall aesthetic. Whether I'm running errands, meeting up with friends, or simply lounging in the sun, these skirts provide the perfect blend of comfort, style, and versatility.
A deeper shade of foundation!

Nowadays, whenever I desire a sun-kissed complexion, I prefer making slight makeup modifications, I adjust my foundations between seasons instead of exposing myself to the sun's harmful UV rays. I have very light olive skin so a slightly darker foundation makes me look a lot healthier and gives me the look I love, I draw on faux freckles with a light brow eyebrow pencil and I'm generous with my blush. I recall the one instance in my life when I tried to get a tan on a deck in the height of summer. I ended up getting burned and turned into a ghastly tomato-red shade. The sight of my terrified me, and I applied ice packs and slathered aloe vera gel on my face every hour. That experience made me promise myself to never repeat that mistake again.
White dresses!

I have a serious addiction to white dresses, they're an essential part of my summer wardrobe. Every piece of item in my wardrobe tends to get boring after a while but not with my white dresses. They come in all sorts of styles, but nothing makes me feel more beautiful than a flowy white dress during the summer months. I love pairing it with a flowy chiffon hijab, cute earrings, and an ethereal makeup look. My absolute fave are empire waist dresses- they work wonders in emphasizing my waistline and elongating my legs. Plus, they give off a super chic and elegant vibe. The only downside is that these dresses are usually made of natural materials, so they tend to wrinkle easily throughout the day which drives me crazy but I'm trying my best to make peace with that.

Ballet is basically what my life is rotating around rn other than my crippling ed XD, I've been doing it since I was 3 and other than motivating my glow up, it literally distracts my goofy brain from thinking about food and eating
Working out: I love love love working out!! Burns calories and gives me a good mood boost 💕

Fruits and veggies in general but with some criteria: Small, fresh (no freeze dried stuff or whatever), Cooked w no oil/the least oil possible (for veggies)
Chicken breast deli slices (it's literally 63kcals per serving!!)
Unsalted air popped popcorn is the GOAT!!

Workout regiment
~2hrs of various yt workouts!! 2x/day (Gainsbybrains,Pamela reif,Chloe Ting, Emi Wong and Eylem Abaci,kpop workouts or whatnot)
min 6k steps a day on weekdays, 8k min on weekends (I don't give myself a maximum,the more the merrier, I usually use a treadmill at 6-7km/hr)
HIIT full body training/tabata 2-3 times/week for 30min-1hr
I mainly train core,abs and full body (cause I do ballet already)
I SUPPORT RECOVERY, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BE IN MY SAME SITUATION!! For those who are in my same place, I honestly hope you succeed at whatever you want to do!!

today, i ran 5 miles and it was EASY. i didn't even think i could run one, but i just zoned out and then was shocked at how far i'd gone. i wasn't even out of breath.
and i did pamela reif's send my abs to heaven workout, and that also wasn't too hard.
and when i had my last personal training session, my trainer was like, i know planks are easy for you, so let's see how long you can hold one. and i made it 2 1/2 minutes before my body started to shake and burn, and he called it quits then because our session was over, but we were both curious about how long i could actually go until my body gave out on me, not just how long until my body starts shaking.
so i'm like... wow. i must be in better shape than i think i am, because i didn't think i could do any of that, but... i did. i can.

This morning I did a few youtube vids :-) if ya wanna do them you can take it from me that they're decent. you may wanna take a few breaks n that's totally okay, i know i did!! I finished this shizzle off with the stretching video i linked last :-) feeling good tbh especially after this week's episode(s). I finished the work out up with a 40 min run in which I ran a slow paced 4 miles. Now drinking water and tea hehe

Current Weekly Workout Routine/Split 🎀
I’ve been doing a mixture of different kinds of YouTube workouts in my bedroom, but I have specific types of YouTube workouts that I do on specific days.
💕Here’s my current split 💕:
💗Monday - Abs/Pilates Abs
💗Tuesday - Lower Body/Lower Body Pilates
💗Wednesday - Cardio Dance/ HIIT
💗Thursday - Upper body + Core
💗Friday - Yoga or Pilates
💗Saturday - Pilates or Yoga
💗Sunday - Stretching
I always do some form of a warm up video before my workout and some form of cooldown afterward (except for yoga or stretching days). My goal is 30+ minutes of working out a day, not including my daily walks to work during the week. I pre plan my week of workouts every weekend so that way I can wake up in the morning and know what to expect. I also like to lay out my workout mat and clothes the night before. It helps eliminate the need to exert much willpower in the morning.
If you have any fitness YouTubers you like that do stuff like pilates, yoga, K-pop inspired workouts, or workouts for leaning out, losing weight, and toning up, please recommend them to me!
Some workout YouTubers I’m already familiar with are Chloe Ting, Lily Sabri, Pamela Reif, Yoga with Adrienne, Move with Nicole, Shirlyn Kim, April Han, Vivian Yuan, Madfit, Boho Beautiful Yoga, Hinafit, and Mish Choi. I’m open to any other recommendations!

Pamela Reif's weekly workout plans ✨
I usually do the 45min ones. I love the 45 min loose weight dance version.
It's basically a plan with all her workouts and each day is for specific areas and stuff, like abs, cardio, booty
I also use her App (dunno how international it is since she is german and I am too, but her workouts are in english!!)
Pearks with that app: you can add your own workouts and change the plan.
For example the last weeks a friend and I went to go swimming 1-2 a week for 40-45min and I could add that to the plan or change the restdays.
Additionally to those workouts I try to go swimming as often as I can and cycle to uni, stand while studying, clean my flat often, ..
So generally beeing activ.
45 min workout 5x a week is great but it's better to do more.
Walking is also great, it's easy compared to a gym session yet efficient in burning cals ;) 1h burns appr 240 kcals and you won't feel exhausted at all

Goal 1 weight:
10pm - 54.0kg
Haven’t eating anything since 7pm yesterday. It’s 11am now. Planned to not eat anything today and go to sleep with an empty stomach, but I’m feeling restless and my stomach is protesting.
Yup, so I ate a bunch of snacks at work like Julie’s chocolate sticks x5, cheese Julie’s biscuits, matcha hello panda, 3x mini tolberone
After work, I had a hearty healthy dinner which is what I’m happy about

Went for a 5km run and clocked 15k steps. Also did a 10min Pamela Reif abs workout. I think I did ok today.

Goal 2 read:
Read >5 pages of skin in the game by nassim nicholas taleb.
Learnt that employees are more dependable than contract staff due to the greater leverage companies have by paying employees a monthly income and them having to be accountable to the company and their reputation at greater stake.
Also, being an employee signals domestication since we deprive ourselves of freedom for at least 9hrs every week day for a monthly paycheck.
Although these days changing companies is common, this does not make us any less ‘skin in the game’ or less answerable. Fact is, instead of being subdued by a company, we are now controlled by broader terms, the requirement of being employable. We are judged not just our current employer but prospective employers. Hence the common thread of striving and picking up skills that makes us desirable in a workplace.
Goal 3 meditate:
Did a 7min guided meditation this morning.
Kept nodding off and then being pulled back to consciousness by random thoughts like how I’m going to get through today without eating, will I succeed, how much I hate work (cus it’s so meaningless). Thought about HQ and how grateful I am for him in my life. Sadly there’s not much to look forward to except to him.
Still, meditation feels good. Sitting silently and just breathing and trying to focus on breathing. It’s calming.
10pm, did another 5min meditation. Non guided. Mind kept wondering, felt anxious. Thought about how I’m so fat that I’m not worth being loved and he deserves someone skinner and prettier. But still, kudos for getting through it.
Goal 4 piano:
Practiced all 4 of my fav songs 1x each.
Can be smoother. Mind kept thinking about how I’m fugly and fat and don’t deserve to be loved.
