Quick disclaimer: I’m not a doctor and I’m sharing my personal experience and what has helped me with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I wanted to make a different type of post today and talk about my health journey. I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) about a year ago. I had been gaining weight rapidly over the past year and started to notice excessive facial hair growth…

Omg I hate pcos so much like i have extra fat, im not thin i accept that, but the entire fat amount is just on my belly and i constantly look 9 months pregnant and also it's fucking up my hormones so now I'm having an acne breakout which I've never had like not even as an adolescent and it's really fucking up my self esteem and i just want to be healthy again
#pcos#apparently there's a thing called pcos belly#and it's so stupid#and because its affects periods there is no way to tell between pregnancy vs just pcos#AND EVERYONE SAYS THE BEST TREATMENT IS EXERCISR#do you think i have the time to exercise or the money to eat healthy#weight#tw weight#tw pcos

Teleporting back to 2018

Dear 2018 self,
I can’t deny I miss you sometimes and the kind of life you were leaning to back then, but I also can’t deny how thankful I am for how far you’ve come. Is it possible to feel proud and humbled at the same time? I think there are very rare intersection points in one’s life when that can happen.
I look back and I can still feel the pain and anguish of dealing with polycystic ovaries: the obesity, the hairy arms, the falling hair, the persistent acne, the severe bleeding that lasted weeks-on-end, the anemia and fluctuating blood sugar, the constant struggle of enduring dysmenorrhea, the medicines (oh God, the medicines); the self-worth questioning, the self-loathing, the horrible days you just didn’t want to be around people, but you really had no choice. Hey, the list can go on all day.
I feel like hugging you and assuring you everything will turn out okay. That you will go through hell and back and back again, but you will make it. That the quest of rediscovering yourself and the lengths of what you can do to fulfill THAT is amazing; and that starting over from scratch at 30+ years of age is not only possible—it’s doable. Gasgas na itong linyang ‘to, but it only gets even truer with time: what a journey it has been.
To everyone suffering from PCOS and obesity, I see you. You’re not alone. The fight against it will, unfortunately, last forever—because it can come back. Every now and then, I feel paralyzing fear that it will come back, especially when I know I’ve gained weight. Still, there are days I refuse to move at all because exercise is not only exhausting; it can get pretty boring. Aminin na natin. :p
But that’s why it’s so important to look back. I think that’s the secret weapon. The secret ingredient. The secret that’s not really a secret because everyone has known it all along.
Womanhood is A LOT of things; being easy will never be one of them.
I write this letter with love and forgiveness for my 2018 self. I may weigh some kilos less now, but I will keep on looking back and loving you more each time that I do. And I write this letter with love for all the women battling against this f*cking ugly disease. We can fight it together. Let’s root for each other.
Love,
2024 me

finding out I have PCOS while I actively have a fever and am Sick™️ is wild bc really the only thing I can do is get back to my usual healthy eating/exercise habits. But first I must eat pastina with egg and butter and sleep for 22 hours. Hell world for my ADHD wanting to fix now. And also my skin hurts. Ouch.

comparing my hands rn to the video i recorded a few days ago.... yeah idk what was up with the puffiness. like im chonky but my hands don't look so.... round. i have little patches of swelling between my knuckles still but my right hand is almost completely back to normal. chalking it up to carpal tunnel complications bc a few hours the next day with a wrist brace really helped with the pain and swelling
#personal#like im not gonna be like “oghhh im not fat!!” online#I'm like 250 lbs right now. and yeah 60 of that happened within a few months while i was eating healthy#and exercising frequently. just. decided to gain more than 25% of my body weight within 4 months#dieting isn't helping as it's hormonal in nature. unfortunately. but hopefully I'll be able to touch base w a doctor soon#it's literally just pcos.#I've always been tall and muscular and had giant fuckin tiddies. my lowest adult weight was 165#when my band size was 36 i was like an H cup. like. enormous fucking bazongers#too bad im a man but like there's a reason i don't bind and that's because it's a health hazard and also it accomplishes nothing#you can still see Breasts when i wear a compression shirt. but goddamn it'd be nice to get top surgery.#I'd even settle for a simple reduction at this point. damn.#anyway tl;dr MY WRISTS AND HANDS WERE DEFINITELY SWOLLEN IN THAT VIDEO AND NOW I'M BETTER YAAAY
