My Experience being diagnosed with bpd.

for me it was a relief to finaly have an answer, something to explain my thought process and behaviours, as well as confirmation for something i highly suspected.

the unfortunate thing is that i got diagnosed when i had a breakdown that scared me so bad i admitted myself to the psych ward behind my parents backs, having such a bad experience at the ward that being in that same hospital anywhere away from the er or first floor gives me panic attacks.

i went back to the er after my body shut down, my mom having to support me heavily as my body refused to cooperate and let me walk, they lent me a wheelchair and i was stuck in the er overnight till the afternoon the next day. when they finally got us in and did tests on me they couldn't see what was wrong physically but saw i had a bpd diagnosis so the psychiatrist there sat me down with my mom, gave us a booklet on bpd and told us it must have just been such intense stress from my bpd symptoms that my body couldnt take it.

i always thought it would be something like my spine defect to cause me a complete loss of mobility but knowing now that if i dont regularly take medication to manage my bpd and stress levels my body will decide on its own its had enough and stop responding.

losing my mobility slowly was scary enough, bpd symptoms giving me episodes of full immobility was terrifying. while im glad i had an explanation for it, i still wish they'd properly told me about the bpd diagnosis before when i was there self admited.

had i known any time earlier, i would have been able to better set boundaries and look after myself, recognize what didnt help me and what my symptoms and behaviours were and prevent such terrifying episodes from ever happening.

it was a relief when the psychiatrist i saw at the ward mentioned it off hand because i had suspected it already and that confirmation made my concerns feel even slightly validated. that was probably the only positive that came from that visit.

it wasnt what started my research on bpd but it sure as hell influenced me delving way deeper into it, and after one too many bad stressors and reactions to stress, i am still trying to do more research to help myself and others cope better and better understand ourselves.

hopefully my book "understanding borderlines" can do that.

Sorry, not trying to start anything nor is this an attack on the other anon ( /gen ) but sometimes i do get sick of people in comments or other asks being so rude , especially as someone who LOST a partner with BPD over ENTIRE hypocritical thinking ( it WAS NOT the only reason but regardless ).

i feel like this is a good time to remind folks that people with BPD:

Can be violent to self or others

Can be destructive to self or others

Can be stalkers

Can be rude

Can be aggressive

Can be toxic

...and not enjoy it, and not endorse it, and not be happy about it. They do not have to defend or explain themselves every fucking time they do something bad, because guess what! They probably already know. They probably already feel guilt.

Even if they do not have guilt? They know its wrong. There is a difference between "this disorder makes me implusively do bad things" and "I'm an asshole abuser because i can be".

BPD folks should not tear down other BPD folks. It is NOT a fun happy disorder. Its miserable. If some people are having a fine time with it thats valid. If people are not having a fine time with it they are also valid.

Its a mental illness- a Personality disorder. You cannot claim to be pro disabilities and PDs and then turn around and say "well some of these are abusers".

If you don't like people with "scary disorders" then maybe you need to rethink about how you view people.

You're not special or "one of the good ones". /npa

anyways william wisp minecraft skin & PD minecraft headcanons :]

William would probably do his best to keep himself in the dark about updates for as long as possible before cracking open the game and exploring to find all the new stuff. He dabbles with building sometimes, but most of his builds end up abandoned after a bit. He usually plays in creative, because he can't fend off enemies for shit.

Vincent would get William to lead him to the stronghold and then beat the dragon as many times as possible. He'd probably also enjoy hanging around in villages and trading. Given his tendency for JRPGs, he wouldn't be well-adapted to survival games, but he would appreciate the more fantasy-ish aspects of Minecraft.

Dakota would blast through the game with nothing in his inventory but a wooden sword and a stone axe. If it weren't for William and Ashe, he probably wouldn't know about half of the features of the game. He's always somewhere above a hundred experience levels.

I'm less confident about Ashe, since I'm only at ep 13 so far, but to me it seems like he'd spend most of his time in modded minecraft, learning convoluted mechanics and screwing around with exploits. In vanilla, he'd probably be more focused on things like building and redstone, putting aside survival so he wouldn't have to deal with combat and resource gathering.

and as for atmospheric lighting, I loveddd the cinema secrets mod when I had it installed! The lit by firelight setting you could turn on for specific lots is amazing. I ended up uninstalling it and going back to using the maxis match lighting mod only because, you know that glitch where sometimes all the furniture in a build doesn't get lit up by the lighting anymore and you have to pick up each one and place it down? That started happening to me a lot more when I had cinemasecrets idk if it was related or if I just psyched myself out into thinking that lol -__- but it's beautiful! For me, I literally hate white light so much that I don't use it in any sim builds anymore basically lololol unless it's supposed to be a fluorescent and unpleasant area. At this point I really only use lights with a warm tone and I love how it feels cozy! pineappleforest has a post here showing the different maxis light settings and how to change custom lamps to a different type of light. Pineappleforest labels which lamps in their sets are warm/cool so I use a lot of warm PF lamps, like pretty much every lamp I use lol. And I also love the Still Here lamp by nixed sims, it's really warm lighting that is very retro. I also love to use the neon rods from PF's neon set because there is an invisible one! You can put an invisible colored neon and if there is other lighting nearby in the room, the effect is pretty subtle so it's fun to try different combos. I also love the big crazy neon maxis lightbulb lamps that are green/blue/and..orange? whichever, they are SO intense but that makes them really useful for photos or areas you want to feel spooky/scifi/moody etc. anyway I rambled a lot lol but I hope some of this was helpful at all!! <3

Hello! Serpent Mod here. 40 years old, they/them, can be seen as 🐍💙 on @borderline-culture-is. That blog has helped me feel like I'm not alone, so I want to give back where I can, hence co-modding here. I suspect a handful of other things, too (autism, ADHD, OSDD1b), but at this age I have no clue where to even start looking for diagnoses for any of those. Hello!! How are you today? 

This month has being a mess in posting poses. I know I said I was going to post the poses of the month last week but I couldn't for reasons that were out of my hands at home (constant power outages and a lot of rain that got inside my house 🙂)  and I had to deal with it 😫. Fortunatelly it was nothing about my mental health (I'm a lot better now, and I hope it stays like that) and it was not so bad (just some cleaning and worries).

I have the poses ready to post but I don't wanna post them all today (as it is the last day of the month), so I will going to publish them at the begining  of this next month (beside some other poses).

So I appologize for not publish a lot of poses this month but I couldn't.

Anyway, here you have some poses for a couple of sims having a not pleasant conversation 😅. I made them for my own story and I hope you like them as I do.
