You will pity and hug people for being victims of abuse, which is supposed to be a good thing, but when the harsh reality of being an abuse victim kicks in, whether it be the development of BPD or other disorders, they are suddenly the scum of the earth and somehow DESERVE the horrific childhood physical, emotional and sexual abuse they went through.

Like, yes, it's true, and I won't deny it; having a loved one with BPD can be terribly difficult and harmful to deal with if they are not self-aware or in treatment, and they are very much capable of exhibiting toxic behaviours, but it's horrifying how people claim to support victims of abuse but their compassion immediately stops at any mental disorder developing as a result of that abuse.

When I love someone it feels like I am on fire, I love so intensely that the flames grow in the shape of a home. My warmth burns you as you walk in but I try to protect you from the heat. I try, I try and I try. But even I can’t save you, the flames engulf you and you try hard to leave, afraid to be burnt, afraid to be scarred from my love that no longer feels like a home, but a silent volcano always ready to erupt.
