ooc mori who takes okay care of dazai and is just overall really stressed and tired with being a surgeon

chuuya immediately thinking of dazai as an asshole because dazai is wearing a turtleneck under a hoodie from late August to the beginning of the school year, as well as having a blond 'sister' (in chuuya's mind, people with blond siblings are no good)

Random features of my BSD age swap au

Kyouka and Q (Yumeno Kyuusaku) were the equivalent of Double Black, but I haven't figured out what to call them instead. Either way, they were a terrifying duo where between Q's raw destructiveness and Kyouka's stealth, as well as Q's psychological manipulation and Kyouka's resourcefulness and logic, basically no one could beat them. Until Kyouka left anyway

PS Q did not take Kyouka leaving as well as Chuuya took Dazai leaving. There is So Much Bullshit going on there

Atsushi is Oda, RIP. Akutagawa is Ango if he'd been a PM spy in both the government and Mimic

Gin is an Executive

Aya is Ranpo. Fukuzawa is a girldad. She actually has an Ability but has trouble accepting it due to her (now dead) birth father's abuse.

Ranpo and Yosano are the Agency's resident teenagers (14 and 15 respectively). Ranpo is still in his 'everyone is a monster and I'm scared' phase because Fukuzawa hasn't quite managed to get the lie to click; him and 18 year old Dazai bond oddly well over this.

Tachihara was Rimbaud, technically. There's some logic in my head that makes this make sense. Yes, this means Tachigin is Rimlaine in this AU, and Gin is every bit as pathetic as Verlaine is.

Where are actual Rimlaine? ...Good question.

Kenji is Kunikida, technically. Q is not jealous at all (lie)

Higuchi is a Black Lizard commander. Don't ask me how this works.

Kouyou is unfortunately locked in the Port Mafia's basement because Golden Demon is a lot more destructive than Demon Snow was. (She's Q).

Chuuya attacks Dazai on the train (how Kyouka attacks Atsushi) though he's significantly less inclined to blow himself up. Unfortunately for him he winds up blown up anyway.

Mori gets to traumatized even more children - he gets to directly mentor Kyouka and Q, then Dazai, and Yosano.

Does Yosano join the Agency before or after Dazai? Yes.

Hear me out a b99 skk au. Where Dazai is Jake and Chuuya is Amy. Since it’s an Au we can take liberties, in characterisation, character dynamics etc. Fukuzawa as Holt (tho I personally don’t think they are similar) , Rampo as Gina ( again they aren’t similar), Kenji as Terry ( the vibes match) , Charles as Atsushi ( so it would be a mentor mentor thing rather than bffs) and Yosano as Rosa (again it’s the vibes).

I don’t know how the other ADA members or the port mafia will mix in this Au, but god this au has consumed my mind.

BSD BAND AU DESIGNS

GASP, ANOTHER DRAWING? I don't know either I just wanted to sketch the design ideas I had for atsushi and akutagawa, and some alt makeup looks yknow

Anyways I've been doing some thinking about this au and heres some headcanons

AKUTAGAWA

-as stated in the drawing he's under the port mafia label

-I imagine one of his first albums is named "Black-Fanged Hellhound" or smt like his nickname

-lyrics are quite poetic, I think he got into writing songs before he grew to love preforming and playing an instrument

-became a musician to lift his sister and him out of poverty

-I imagine his music sounds a little like "Au revoir" from Malice Mizer, classic instruments n shit yknow?

-his guitar also sorta looks like a violin but like

OKAY I DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT MUSIC OR INSTRUMENTS SO LIKE- I DUNNO MAN

-Dazai made him fall in love with preforming and so he's been having a real hard time creating after dazai broke his contract, though maybe someone else can help him regain his passion for music..

ATSUSHI

-in a band with Kyouka, Kenji, and Junichiro, and yes he (together with Jun) are the big brother figures taking care of their very weird little siblings

-also he's a lot closer with Junichiro, they're besties ur honour

-was discovered by dazai in a shady bar. Atsushi had been creating music to escape his life in the orphanage, using his schools instruments. When he turned 18 he recorded a few of the songs he'd written, hoping to find an agency that'd want to hear them. He certainly didn't except underground superstar Dazai to steal his cds and DEMAND he join thr ADA label

-still very new to working with  electric guitar, since he's used to thr acoustic one at his school, but very excited to be trying something new

-his sound is more pop punk inspired and his outfit definitely takes some inspo from scene n stuff

Anyways that's all for now, I'm glad so many people enjoyed the first drawing of this au, and if anyone wants to see any other characters I'd love to sketch up some designs hehe

Bsd music venue (band) au inspired by the rock concert I just went to

The Port Mafia all work at a venue that mainly hosts rock and similar concerts

The ada is a band that frequently plays there

Tachihara is the sound/tech guy totally jamming out to the music with the crowd, he wanted the job as a way to go to concerts for free (but he still does his job well)

Gin does sound and tech too, they get along well. Gin is especially good bc they know sign language and teach others so they dont have to try to shout

Akutagawa is the weird kid working the merch table, no one really gets along with him but he gets the job done well. He has a bizzare way of organizing and doing things that irritates anyone else but he claims its faster

Mori technically owns the place but is never actually there, Kouyou runs it with help from Chuuya and Verlaine (all three are step siblings via Mori so it's kinda family run)

Chuuya runs the bar as well

Verlaine is never seen, he remotely does finances and boring stuff

Kouyou is the main manager/ highest besides Mori. She does booking and other stuff

Dazai used to work there but quit to join the ada band, now he comes to concerts just to bother chuuya at the bar

Hirotsu does hiring and training, hes been working there the longest, since before it was sold to Mori. Everyone knows him and likes him

Higuchi is head of security and manages security people as well as supervises and creates the id checking and security process to enter the venue

Whenever the ada plays there Atsushi sneaks off to make out with Akutagawa at the merch table

DazaI also sneaks away to be a bother, usually to Chuuya

Kunikida is the manager that travels with the ada, Fukuzawa doesn't travel

Kunikida and Kouyou in particular get along very well with how often they work together and their similar way of doing things

The band is made up of Dazai, Atsushi, Junichiro, Kyoka, Kenji, Ranpo, and Yosano

Fukuzawa, Kunikida, Naomi, and Haruno are all behind the scenes staff

I already wrote about Tanizaki Port Mafia AU (where he decided to join on his own), so besides him, who should I write about? I'm talking about being selected for the transfer, not voluntarily joining. (Excluding Yosano, ofc as well as Kenji, and Kyouka b/c just nO!)

Might include ships, but might not depending on the person.

Here are some ways I think each member could be good in the PM:

FUKUZAWA

no extra training required

knows Mori

is at least somewhat familiar with Yokohama's underground

canonically has bloodlust

and only stopped killing because he knew it was BaD

people would be AFRAID

Kunikida and/or Ranpo could take over the ADA

it’s really interesting b/c if he goes Ranpo might follow

and then where would the ADA be?

The fic would prob be tortured Fukumori

slowburn (idk how good I am at writing slow burn but we'll see . . .)

The rekindling of old failed toxic love that was killed before it could really get anywhere or see if it could bloom into something pure

now they have to figure it out in their new circumstances

and if it even can work

but first, they'll have to admit that there's still even the faintest hint of something there

and even then Mori will have to WORK for Fukuzawa's love (don't worry)

KUNIKIDA

organised and efficient so he could easily manage trading operations domestically and overseas

smart even if we may not see a lot b/c of dazai and Ranpo

could probably pick up languages easily

I think he'd be great at undercover work since he's actually capable of being subtle

and he is used to being around *normal* people more and has better social skills

I also feel like he's the type who he can look totally different with a different hair style (or colour) or even if he just takes off his glasses or doesn't wear his little vest or something

and his ideals don't align exactly with the law, only what he thinks is right

he’s willing to do what is necessary to get the job done

if joining the pm and controlling Yokohama’s underworld means less crime and violence overall then he’ll do it

I still think he wouldn’t kill but

he'd prob be really good at interrogation and combat missions that didn't involve killing (like theft or kidnapping for information/money or something)

I don't think he'd be the perfect fit but if they warped or broke him enough he could be absolutely terrifying in the mafia

No ships

Kuni has way higher standards (58 criteria to be precise) and these FREAKS meet none of them

A fic with him would probably be hella angst.

I'm not sure I have a very good grasp of his character yet, so out of all the options, I'm least enthusiastic about writing for him.

Also, I'm already doing a Hunting Dogs AU for him.

ATSUSHI

obviously, his ability

it's the full deal: strength, speed, agility, regeneration

the perfect partner for sskk

the thing last Mori needs for his SKK 2.0

his combat skills are a little haphazard (relying on brute force mostly) 

but Kunikida has been tearing him in martial arts a little 

even though they have hardly any time with all the CHAOS

you're prob thinking "NO WAY! He literally says he needs to save people to live! That's like his whole thing!"

you're right

but if Mori or the other executives warped him, I think b/c he's so insecure, they could convince him

(kind of like they did Kyouka, only her will is stronger than Atsushi's)

that violence and destruction and killing are his purpose and what he was born for.

But, I doubt Mori would go the route of telling him it's all he's good for and that if he doesn't do it, he's good for nothing again.

He knows it didn't work the first time and it's too easy to reverse, especially since Atsushi has already been with the ADA.

I think Mori would set about convincing him that he deserves to let his anger out for all the world has done to him

that the world is his enemy and that he should punish it

that people deserve his wrath for allowing a society where he could be treated the way he has been to exist

Prob slow burn eventual SSKK

on this blog, we say Aku is just fine, perfectly okay, and doing well

They're still going to fight like angry cats

Aku will prob realise his feelings when he finds himself missing Atsushi's old personality

idk

meanwhile, Atsushi is just drowning in the brainwashing

the "bliss" of anger and he's too unaware even to fight it

still, SSKK become partners

and knowing them, it's to the point where only they don't know they are together

them "not-dating" will prob be like their messed up therapy and break Atsushi's trance or smth

maybe they hide the fact that he's not mind-controlled or whatever form Mori

Atsushi might still decide to stay just to keep any other agency members from being transferred

and who knows he may even learn to like it

I haven't thought too far ahead yet

it's too late and I should be in bed but

NAOMI

I know I said I wouldn't do Junichirou

but if you're getting one, you're getting both

They’re a package deal

(Mori might take her just to get Junichirou because he knows they won't leave each other and then he'll end up using Naomi's skills as well)

and what's not to love

besides Jun's crazy killer skills

Noami is smart, savage and a little cruel (how she treats Jun when he's seasick) and unhinged

(thinking of the time she suggested Atsushi do sexual stuff for his entrance exam)

not to mention Dazai tutors her

If you can't have Dazai, why not have his student?

(I swear that's canon, correct me if I'm wrong though)

she has the potential to be heartless, sadistic, and terrifying

She also likes to see people (Junichirou, at least) squirm and be uncomfortable or suffer to some extent.

maybe that’s just their dYnAmIc though

(thinking again of how she treats him when he says no to her and is clearly uncomfortable. Also when she talks loudly and obviously about sexual stuff in front of others.

I’m not sure if it’s intentional or if she really is that insensitive or unaware of how it makes others feel

Something that has been nibbling at the back of my head is this difference between Akutagawa's reception at ADA in Beast AU and Atsushi's reception in canon. Like, what changed? I know Dazai's not there but to be honest, the way the ADA treated Atsushi and Akutagawa in the beginning is so different I don't know why like

Atsushi in canon:

He's the man-eating tiger they were looking for but he wasn't aware of his ability until then, he was starving and his self-esteem is so low it reaches the earth's core. He kinda bumbled through his entrance exam but still managed to truly pass the entrance exam ("I mean, if you die, you're dead!" still cracks me up), and yes, he does have that 7 billion yen bounty on him so I can see why he's a danger to the ADA but he did try to lure the port mafia away from the ADA even if they just thought he's running away (kinda true but also, did Kunikida ever know the real reason Atsushi was leaving and then cried when he realized the ADA isn't helpless?) When he and Kyoka got kidnapped by Akutagawa, Fukuzawa had to order the ADA to rescue them (Kunikida and Ranpo were on team don't rescue and I think Tanizaki and Kenji were neutral and Naomi's definitely team rescue since she got Fukuzawa) (also, did Atsushi and Kyoka ever find out they were almost abandoned? no?)

Akutagawa in Beast AU:

He was a starving orphan Oda literally just picked up from the riverside but here he tries to kill Oda several times. He is focused only in finding the man in black and getting his sister back and while this made attempts at conversation with him hilarious, it's paints the fact that he's not very good at socializing (Kenji is such a sweetheart in his part of the story). He disarmed Tanizaki the bomber but didn't actually pass the test, he had to be given that stamp test to get further into rescuing his sister. He was literally attempting murder every time Oda was near him but they still went to support him when he (by his own volition) stormed port mafia's base by himself (which is actually more dangerous than canon because of Dazai's influence and all that). He's cool despite his murder-happy actions but still

and all this is just... ?????????

What changed???? Is a guy trying to murder your coworker repeatedly and chokes every client in the neck that much more preferable to another guy who happened to get a massive bounty on him? Is there a missing scene in beast where Fukuzawa had to order the ADA to support Akutagawa as a parallel to canon? I guess the whole stamp shenanigans and the "I want to save my sister" made the ADA connect more with Akutagawa and therefore made them more willing to help him but huh???? I need answers, I really don't get why they acted so differently, the changes Dazai did only started(I think?) at the night he was supposed to choose Akutagawa, so was there a butterfly effect from that? It's cool and all in Beast AU but huh???

Atsushi got unwillingly slammed into Akutagawa's kidnapping van and he was almost left to his fate but, Akutagawa can willingly storm port mafia but got no-questions-asked I-gotchu-fam squad??

I genuinely don't know what changed

I was playing around with the idea of a Bsd NightVale au and then I realized-

That's just Bungou Stray Dogs.

Bsd doesn't need any more existential Eldritch horrors as bosses. If Cecil and Carlos rocked up to Yokohama, I don't think anything would change. Strex corp would be the villain of the week, the ADA would just be like, "Yup, just another Tuesday."

The cats stuck in the air that reside in the bathroom? Atsushi joins them every Thursday at noon and Fukuzawa is still trying to figure out how to take a photo of them without horrifically dying.

The totally-not-angels named Erika? Just regulars of the Cafe getting coffee and pastries for old woman Josie who writes down all the names of Abilities in her free time along with the Ability User's birth date but she never writes down their names because "Don't you know that is a serious breach of privacy?"

And good ol' John Peters- you know, the farmer? He lives in Yokohama on the weekends and spends the rest of his time either helping Kenji out on his farm or harvesting imaginary corn from his Peach Farm.

Janice, Cecil's niece is totally friends with Kyouka and Atsushi, occasionally giving them some of Girl scout cookies paid for by Cecil.

Everyone, the Port Mafia, the ADA, the Hunting Dogs, avoid the library for fear of the Eldritch horrors that guard books of knowledge known as Librarians. No one will even ambush or attack each other when in the vicinity of the Library building.

If Asagiri created a suddenly put BSD in a Night Vale au, I honestly doubt any fan would notice until a man with a deerskin suitcase came and not even the hyper-geniuses of Bungou Stray Dogs can remember what his face looked like or what they even spoke to him about.

In this AU, Dazai is the strongest of Yokohama's Gym Leaders. He specializes in Ghost types! His team consists of a Dragapult, a houndstone, a spiritomb, a froslass, a mimikyu, and a lampent! here's so fun(debatable) facts about his team!

he used to be an admin for the Port Mafia, so he still has like. a big fat kill count. So that's where the Spiritomb comes from. yeah.

Dragapult is usually the one dragging dazai out of his attempts. It's been with him since even before Dazai joined the mafia, so it's his signature pokemon

His mimikyu likes playing with children. Dazai often leaves it with Kyouka and Kenji to play with whenever the gym leaders get together

Dazai found Lampent when he visited Lupin after Oda's death. It was hanging around the alleyway, and he decided to catch it.

froslass is always freezing him. yk like james in the pokemon anime with all of his pokemon. bc he's pathetic like that. Dazai caught froslass on a mission with Kunikida, shortly after becoming a Gym Leader. (yes this froslass is the nightmare of all of his challengers).

Chuuya tried so hard to convince Dazai to catch a Greavard. Dazai eventually relented, but only because he could name it chibi. eventually he got actually attached to it and evolved it to Houndstone

Chuuya, on the other hand, is still an admin for the Port Mafia

His team consists of flying types. This is because, as his brother Verlaine is French from Kalos, got Chuuya super into sky battles. he prefers sky battles, but he's obviously just as formidable in normal battles. In Chuuya's team he has a corviknight, a skarmory, a honchkrow, a mismagius, a talonflame, and an oricorio (sensu style)

Honchkrow is his signature pokemon! it's been with him since he was in the Sheep

the oricorio, believe it or not, is actually from Kouyou and not Dazai, despite the ghost typing. its usually the pokemon to drag chuuya away when he's overworking himself.

the talonflame was gift from Verlaine! yk. as an apology. for killing the flags. Chuuya raised it from an egg. Verlaine battles with it every once in a while to see how it's doing. the battle's just an excuse to spend time with his little brother though

Corviknight was a gift from Adam as well.

Mismagius used to be Dazai's, but he left Chuuya its pokeball when he left the mafia so its his now :P

Chuuya had to add skarmory to his team during the DHC but ended up bonding with it and now its a staple in his team

Back when they were in the mafia, soukoku were often paired up for double battles on missions.
