Thinking about the language fic post, but honestly... I'm more tempted to conlang some stuff together because that's really the best way to actually get underlying language bits to reference. Otherwise it won't make much sense.

Downside: I have too many questions to ask based on the limited information available about the language(s) used by alien robots. I'm not really sure where to start.

I'm not touching on varieties of "speaking hand" yet. Yet. That is a threat.

Let's start with: PHONOLOGY & PHONETICS

For example, question number one: what would any given language spoken by Cybertronians sound like?

There's no reason alien robots should use verbal speech in ways familiar to us, either via human-like vocal tracts even via "verbal" means at all.

Because they are aliens. Because they are robots. Both separate reasons that are somewhat independent of each other.

Some things have to be assumed to be similar as part of the conceit of the material of the material given to us. Material between continuities is quite different so for sanity, lets pick IDW1.

Conceits we're forced to work with:

Cybertronians are repeatedly shown to whisper, shout, and make sounds with their mouths or some sort of vocal apparatus in the mouth/throat area if their mouths have been removed. Therefore, their vocal tract is mostly analogous to ours for most intents an purposes. Perhaps some of the sounds that come out are necessarily different or could have additional features or limitations based on the shapes and motion ranges of their articulatory organs.

Cybertronian speech (for Neocybex specifically) in the original writing of the continuity is rendered in English (under the guise of scifi Universal Translator tech). Sometimes British English varieties, sometimes American English varieties, depending on the writer. While this is a necessary conceit for a comic book meant for an English-speaking audience, this means we don't actually encounter a lot of the sounds (or renderings thereof) of Neocybex and its varieties as it's spoken. This also biases us to understand their cultures through the lens of localization to English (but that's a secondary problem).

Limited stock of Neocybex words are available as a result of the previous point. Mostly we have toponyms (place names), religious vocabulary (the roots of which are usually Latin or Greek and thus could also be seen as the result of localization rather than the original vocabulary), and personal names (many of which are also localized for our convenience). Even legal terminology is translated into English words. We really only get toponyms as a source.

The available word stock is rendered in the English version of the Roman alphabet for the necessary conceit of "writing in English for the audience." That means that sound capture of those Neocybex words is inherently imperfect since it's limited by the writing system. Also as the material is written, we don't know what it actually sounds like (broadly). Romanization is a loose approximation at best.

That makes what their available phonological and phonetic systems look like a bit of a headscratcher.

But we do know one thing for sure.

Windblade can't pronounce /θ/ (the voiceless dental fricative at the end of "earth"). This sound is reportedly difficult to pronounce for Cybertronians and the English toponym of our planet is also not being picked up by their Universal Translator (which amusingly also doesn't work on non-Neocybex Cybertronian languages like Primal Vernacular).

I still have no idea what Neocybex sounds like, but I know it doesn't have /θ/.

Anyway, I'm going to keep pondering this.

I have many more questions.

Are there forbidden syllable structures?

Is it a tonal language to some degree? How is the language timed (mora, stress, syllable, etc.)?

What is the orthography like (because the ones we're given are English ciphers, which is bullshit)? Are there non-verbal components only present in the orthography?

How related to modern Neocybex is Primal Vernacular? Is it the ancestor language? Was it restricted to liturgical use after a certain period?

What is the grammar like? What features are marked and in what way? Does it have grammatical case? Does it have noun classes? Does it mark animacy? Does it use word order to make grammatical meaning?

What is the syntax like more specifically?

What is the morphological typology?

Joining the squid games could possibly be the last thing any person with common sense and a reason to live would consider doing. Unless they either had none.

That's what it looked like for you. The games you had to do to win 45.6 billion won had you either questioning if it's still worth it to still keep going or just to end it all on this island.

Out of all the people in these games, there's one face that you despised seeing and wondered how he's still alive after what he did, Myung-Gi.

He's your ex boyfriend. Being with him was great at first, but once he was invested in the crypto coin thing business, it felt like you're being cheated on. It also didn't help that he had an affair behind your back with a girl named Kim Jun-hee who turned up pregnant.

You didn't hate Kim Jun-hee, as you felt bad for her that your ex abandoned her and their baby, but the whole thing hurted you.

There's nothing more you wanted to get out of here with enough money to move to another place and start off fresh.

When you first woke up in the dormitory with all the other players, you wondered where this possibly could go. You looked around to see so many unfamiliar faces.

Then a man in a pinkish red suit all the way across the room wuth a black covered mas with a white triangle comes out from double doors and starts explaining why majority are here. Because of their debts.

They showed different videos of people playing Ddakji and getting slapped in the face. There was one face you recognized, your ex. It wouldn't be surprising that he was in debt for trying to chase after the crypt coin thing.

It looks like you're not the only one who hated him, many people who fell for the crypto coin were also mad at him. A purple-haired guy stood out from the rest, as he was a rapper you heard from others who were apparently fans. You had no interest in him or your ex but were wondering what the whole ordeal of winning money is.

You had to sign a waiver for the games, and you were soon directed to take pictures. It was rough enough. Then you would have to climb stairs that seemed like you were going to Mount Everest. You saw your ex from the right side across. You also didn't want to risk being seen.

Finally, you reached the first game after what seemed like an eternity. There was a huge robot doll and the whole layout was supposed to imitate a school playground with its blue sky and sand ground.

"Hey there pretty" You turn around and see the purple haired guy who was talking to your ex

"Who are you?" You exclaimed looking him up and down not in the mood to be hit on.

"I'm Choi Seung-hyun, Thanos for my music. You might of heard my raps before?"

"If I did, I probably would want to be deaf right now. Including not hearing this conversation."

He pretended to be hurt and put a hand over his heart.

"Ouch girl. Cold aren't you?"

You rolled your eyes. He sees another girl walks by and also tries talking to her. Poor girl, you thought.

"Y/N?" You hear your name being called and look around.

"Y/N!" A hand fell on your shoulder and you flinched turning around.

It was Myung-Gi. Your panic turned into annoyance as you rolled your eyes again.

"What are you doing here?" He asks

"Should be asking you that too, but I think it's obvious."

"Can we please talk?"

"What's there to talk about Myung-Gi? You chose a cyrpt coin over me and cheated on me, and got another girl pregant"

"And I regret it very much. Please come back."

"Share those regrets with the others in here too, including the mother of your child."

He tried to reply back but you walked away from him, ignoring him.

Speakers came on, explaining the rules of the game.

A screaming man came into the front and said it's not what we think the game is. He exclaims that if you move, you'll die.

People around you scoffed and found the man crazy. It seemed like to you he was crazy too, but what if he was right?

He was still screaming telling people not to move a muscle when the game starts.

The robot started turning around and putting her hand up to the tree to not look at the other player.

It started singing.

"Everyone freeze!" The man in front says.

Nobody moved a muscle. Your eyes looked around and saw no one moving. What if the guys telling the truth?

The doll looked away and you started moving forward quickly along with everyone else.

"Everyone freeze!" Yelled again the older man.

There was a scream coming from a girl who moved. She laughed exclaiming she just moved. A bullet came through her head and she dropped dead.

The guy really wasn't lying then. One wrong move, you're dead. More people started moving and more gunshots were coming.

Bodies were dropping. People are screaming. This was a bad idea to be here. You were also pretty sure you were going to die with your ex boyfriend. That another cherry on top to add.

"If you don't make it to the finishing line on time, you'll also die." The man yells but has his mouth covered like he was going to take a sneeze.

It felt impossible to win this game. You were so sure you were going to win money but now the only thing you could be winning is death. You wanted to see if Myung-Gi was still alive.

But you couldn't risk being shot. Everyone sooned formed into a single file line. The man explained that the doll can't see what's behind a person if there's a bigger person in front.

More gunshots came. More bodies dropping. You couldn't stop now though. You're close to the finish line, you can feel it.

You soon reached the finish line relieved that you made it alive. You looked around for Myung-Gi to see if he's alive.

Why do you care so much about him? You thought to yourself.

It's just basic human sympathy you thought. Hating him is one thing, but him dying is another.

The game ended and you witnessed the man who warned about the game, you see his number was 456 and another, a woman helping a man who got shot in the leg reach the finish line get shot in the head.

This isn't just a game. This life or death. Everyone including you who passed were allowed to go back to the dorms.

Zoned out walking, seeing bodies and blood, you hear your name being called.

"Y/N!"

Turning around to see who called your name, you see Myung-Gi run up to you.

"Hey, are you okay?"

A light smile came from your face.

"Yes I'm alright and you?"

"Alive thank God." He chuckled.

You chuckled lightly but didn't know what to say after. Usually, you would have something smart to say to him but after what happened, you wanted nothing more to be out of here.

There were yelling and shouts to how the man knew they would shoot if you lost the game. They were accusing the man of being behind the game.

A pink guard then came out and congratulated us for completing the first game. It then if a majority voted to O, you could leave the game.

Everyone chose their own sides O and X. You chose X, even though you desperately wanted the money to be able to move to another city. You see Jun-Hee, his other ex, chose X too. Myung-Gi chose O, which you weren't surprised.

Unfortunately there were more O's than X's which meant you had to stay. You were heartbroken but also upset and turned to Myung-Gi. Now you wish he died in the first game.

You went up to him and turned him around aggressively and slapped him across the face. People looked at you guys, but you didn't care.

"You're really that selfish, you had to choose O?"

"Y/N-"

"The mother of your child is in this game and you choose O. I should have known from the start dating you was a bad idea. If these games don't kill you, I will."

You stormed off away from him and went to your bed. Myung-Gi probably thought you were bluffing about you killing him.

Something deep down you wanted to keep that word true.

It looks like you'll have to wait and see the next day.

IN-DEPTH CHARACTER ANALYSIS OF KRIS(MAS) DREEMURR

Hello! I've wanted to make this post for a WHILE now, since Kris is my favourite character ever, and I LOVE analyzing characters!!

Anyway before I start just remember that people consume media differently, and this is just what I've personally picked up on. You may interpret certain points I make differently to me, and that's ok! I'm just sharing MY analysis of Kris, at the end of the day, they're a character who has never spoken any dialogue that's visible to us, so their intentions behind certain things could be interpreted differently depending on who's consuming the media.

Kris will be EXCLUSIVELY referred to by they/them (they/them/themself specifically) pronouns throughout this post. If you refer to them as anything other than they/them while interacting with this post I'm gonna block you on the spot sorry.

ANALYSIS BELOW THE CUT BECAUSE IT'S LONG!!! TW there's probably some swearing I can't remember

By the way, I'm not including any screenshots because I. forgot to take them last time I played through Deltarune, but the next time that I do, I'm going to make like a revamped version of this post with screenshots. Sorry about that!!

Kris is their own, separate character from the player. This is a no-brainer if you've actually played through Deltarune and paid the slightest bit of attention to it. Kris is their own, separate character with a VERY distinct, interesting personality, who had a life before the events of Deltarune, and even still has control over some things that they say and do while in our control.

Kris isn't actually a quiet person. Kris, in reality, is an overdramatic, sassy, talkative person who often draws attention to themself by scaring people (especially Noelle), and causing scenes. They CONSTANTLY play mean spirited pranks on Noelle or pressure her into things (I'm NOT talking about Snowgrave, I'll get to thar later), like shaking the ferris wheel carriage despite Noelle being scared of heights, and telling her that ICE-E is real and eats kids. They still do this during the events for Deltarune, like if you go against Noelle's wishes and pet the cheese, Kris strokes it like a cat, and if you give Noelle a healing item called a Choco Diamond, she says something along the lines of 'Umm, it's ok, Kris, I'll share', and both of them get healed. We don't choose for Kris to force Noelle to share, that's a decision they make. As for drawing attention to themself, the first thing that comes to mind is they falling to the ground and sulking when they're too short and weak to play Queen's arcade machine, or them barking at Noelle when she offers them a dog treat. They're loud and impulsive, shown when they eat the pie at the end of chapter one, repeatedly kicking the robot in the basement when nothing happens originally before the Sneo fight, eating all of the chocolate Undyne gives them to give to Alphys if you interact with the box, and screaming that they're normal if you call Toriel after watching her conversation with Alphys at the start of chapter two. Speaking of which...

Kris seems to have identity issues. This is one of the things here that everyone in the fandom is kind of already aware of, but this is a full character analysis, so it's still important to mention. Kris is the only human in Hometown, but desperately wants to be perceived as normal. They scream it at Toriel like I mentioned earlier, they wore a headband with red horns on it when they were little to look more like a boss monster, and they seem actively disgusting or even frightened by other humans. They also seem to be living in their brother's shadow a bit, which may be why they like drawing attention to themself. Everything I've said about their personality seems to be a little on the negative side so far, but everyone in Hometown knows their name, and seems to quite like them, so why is this? Well...

Kris is charming, well-spoken, and funny. They're a prankster known for pulling mean-spirited pranks on people, but even still characters like Noelle look back at those things fondly, and everyone in Hometown seems to like spending time with Kris. Kris' flirting abilities are pretty obvious, and are used to win over loads of Darkners, not to mention their ability to formulate a compelling speech on the spot, as shown during the first Queen battle when toasting to her. They easily win people over, especially if they like a person, I mean, they became best friends with their former bully in a DAY! A DAY!!! People seem to find them just genuinely fun to hang around, probably due to them just being a funny, charming, somewhat balls of the walls kinda person.

Kris is NOT evil or malicious. This is one of the most important points I've wanted to make on this post. I've seen the theory that Kris is evil because they don't actively do anything to prevent Snowgrave from happening tossed around and I'm here to say that that is actually fucking stupid sorry. Normally I HATE being mean about people's theories because, like I said, everyone consumes media differently, but that one is just genuinely terrible. I'd say it's WAY more likely that as Noelle gets strong, out control over Kris becomes stronger. Normally, when we choose an option to make Kris say or do something, they ELABORATE on that, which is confirmed by how characters interact with them. We just can't see them speaking to give the illusion that they're a blank slate, under our full control. But, during Snowgrave, they just say EXACTLY what you tell them to say. If you tell them to say 'We're something else', they just say 'We're something else'. If you tell them to say 'Proceed', they just say 'Proceed'. Sure, you could put this towards them not caring, but after Berdly is frozen and you reunite with Ralsei and Susie, both of them say that Kris looks HURT. And later on, they REFUSE to go and see Noelle in her room. The refuse to THINK about it. They're not happy with what happened. They didn't want to go around freezing people. But the one thing that Really stood out to me, was during the Snowgrave Spamton Neo fight. Near the end, you have the option to call Ralsei and Susie for help, which prompts the flavour text; 'Kris called for Susie and Ralsei... But nobody came'. After that, you have to call Noelle for help to finish the battle, which prompts the dialogue; 'You called for Noelle'. Spamton states that Kris could barely whisper her name. They're trying to stop you from calling for her. Those aren't their words. I think that kind of confirms that they didn't want Snowgrave to happen. Kris is just a funny teenager with identity issues, they're not evil. Sorry evil Kris fans.

Kris probably isn't the Roaring Knight. They're A knight, but not THE knight. So far, they don't REALLY have any motivation for opening the first two fountains that I'm aware of, and I doubt they knew they could open a fountain until Queen's speech at the end of Chapter 2. At the end of Chapter 2, however, they do seem to have a motivation to open a fountain. They (presumably) slash Toriel's tyres to stop her from leaving the house to go and get flour. They want her to see the Dark World. And if you choose the option to talk to Undyne about the Dark World, Kris explains it to her in FULL DETAIL, but she brushes it off as a joke. Toriel finding her tyres slashed leads her to call the guards, and Kris leaves the door of the house wide open. They want Undyne to see the Dark World, I don't know WHY, but they do for some reason. But I REALLY doubt they're the Roaring Knight, they just don't have the motivation, and if it is them, it would be really weird for Toby to reveal that so early. I really doubt that kid wants to bring on the end of the world.

(SPOILERS if you haven't seen the show yet):

We start things off with Jor-El and Clark meeting and like the last time, Jor-El speaking in Kryptonese much like how Jor-El in the comics did in Man of Steel #6 (1986)...

as seen in this panel (W&P: John Byrne, I: Dick Giordano, C: Tony Zuiko, L: John Costanza) where Clark meets a ghostly projection of his father at night speaking Krypton's native tongue to him. BTW Man of Steel (1986) is a fantastic read. Highly recommend finding it at your local comic shop.

After Lois, Jimmy and Clark get promoted from interns to reporters at the Daily Planet we see the three of them will be having Thanksgiving with the Kents. Ma Kent shows Lois the newspaper she framed that all three of them wrote much like how her comic book counterpart made a scrap book out of the newspaper headlines of Clark's various heroic adventures in Man of Steel #1 (1986) as seen here in the panel (W&P: John Byrne, I: Dick Giordano, C: Tony Zuiko, L: John Costanza).

The camera then moves and see see kid Clark and the things he did back then. The baseball photo kinda reminds me of this fantastic moment in Batman/Superman #3 (2013) by Greg Pak, Yildiray Cinar, Matt Lackey and John Kalisz, and Rob Leigh:

On Earth-2 Clark and Bruce met as young kids after the car, Alfred drove broke down and both had some fun playing baseball. It's a very cute flashback that highlights no matter where in the multiverse, a Superman-Batman friendship is constant.

Lois's father shows up to the Thanksgiving dinner and I got double confirmation now that it is General Sam Lane. I talked more about his deal here.

Later in the episode we have the awkward parents and their children who are dating each other moment and General Lane here asks if Clark was in the military. In one non-canon series, Superman Year One by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr., Clark signs up for the military after high school. Kind of a weird miniseries, not the best Superman comic, not the worst at least.

Things go from bad to worse when the area where Clark landed activates thanks to the presence of Kryptonite from the League of Lois Lanes sphere that held it and we see that symbol on the robots that the giant ship sends and on this person at the end of the episode. If you know your DC universe, that symbol belongs to Brainiac and we can conclude that the one with the symbol on their head is Brainiac as well.

Brainiac makes his first appearance in Action Comics #242 (1958) (cover art by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye). At this point Brainiac was a "twelve level" intellect alien who shrunk cities for his collection to help repopulate his dead planet, one of the cities is Krypton's capital city, Kandor. Several retcons later we learn that Brainiac is a robot created by the Computer Tyrants of Colu, Brainiac's home planet to spy and conquer worlds. The Brainiac that has a closer connection to Clark and his Kryptonian people kinda like what MAwS is doing was in Superman the Animated Series...

where Krypton was very depended on their AI, Brainiac who then screwed them all over when the planet was about to explode and saved his metal ass and has then became a thorn at Superman's side in the cartoon ever since. MAwS is doing something similar as we see Brainiac's symbol on the robots that were deployed from the ship and the very robotic looking body Brainiac has at the end of the episode.

As we see Clark try to stop the portal and ship, he breaks into the hull and battles the robots in it. As he's getting pummeled, AI Jor-El helps neutralize the robots. It's kinda the same idea that what Man of Steel (the movie) was trying to go for when Lois was on Zod's ship and AI Jor-El was helping her navigate throughout the place. As I said before in the last post, Shin Ultraman is a better Superman movie (and a highly recommend watching) than what Zack Snyder was trying to do in Man of Steel.

We wrap up episode 10 with the Kents, Lois, and Jimmy enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner and we see that Jonathan was able to get the turkey to temperature so Clark heats it more with his heat vision. Superman sometimes does this do heat very mundane things like coffee as seen in this panel of Super Sons #9 (2017) (W: Peter Tomasi, P&I: Jorge Jimenez, C: Alejandro Sanchez, L: Rob Leigh). Highly recommend reading Super Sons and watching the animated movie too!

Congrats to Jimmy on selling Flamebird for $5.6 million. I talk more about flamebird here. Missed opportunity to have it be $5.2 million cuz DC's love of the number 52, but whatever.

The final scene of the episode gives us this moment where Brainiac tells this Kryptonian Warrior a planet they can conquer. The warrior then states that Earth will kneel. The most infamous Kryptonian that likes to mention conquered people kneeling is General Zod and so this character here might be Zod. No confirmation yet but I'm like 99% sure. When we get a confirmation, I'll talk more about Zod later.

These two moments are taken from the conversations Jon has with each of his parents before joining the Legion of Superheroes. There is one particularly interesting difference between how Lois and Clark each view the decision.

(Lois Lane 2019 issue #4 and Superman 2018 issue #16)

"doesn't leave you much of a choice, does it?" vs. "I am jealous of... the choices in front of you"

Now, if you're like me, this is the kind of thing that makes you very excited about characterization and storytelling so let's get into it.

Clark is a character who never really felt like being good was a choice that needed to be made. He was raised to be good by Ma and Pa and he is so inherently good that he can't imagine being anything else, let alone choosing to be anything else. Meanwhile, Lois intimately understands that being good is a choice that you have to make over and over again, even when it's hard. Doing good the way she does is constantly challenged, particularly by her father. Her choice to do good costs her that relationship with him, and she isn't able to fully reconcile with him before his death, which is explored intimately in this book (read Lois Lane).

As my friend @fae-morrigan put it while we were discussing this, "I feel you could easily read it in a way where Clark is jealous that Jon's been shown he could be Other Than Good and make an informed choice about Being Good. Where Lois knows that choosing to be good often comes at the expense of other good things (in her case, her relationship with her father)"

It's important to acknowledge that there is no part of Clark that would choose not to be Superman. They're the same guy. Clark would do good anyway in whatever capacity he could, he just happens to have a really large capacity. When he says he is jealous of the choices in front of Jon, it is less about doing or not doing good, but rather about how he's going to do it.

My friend @ultfreakme explained this really well. "comparing LOSH to college works like that because Jon's going to college (learning to be a hero), but he gets to pick from a million different majors and fuck around for a bit with a support system to fall back on if he fails. Clark went from high school (regular dude) and straight into a job (being a hero) with no ability to like....try something different."

So that's what we can learn about Lois and Clark from this, but what about Jon? The comics do a really cool thing where they break up Jon's complex thoughts about this choice into multiple conversations with different people. With Lois, Jon expresses the sense of obligation he feels. With Damian, he's able to share his hesitance, even telling him that he doesn't think he wants to accept the invitation at first. Finally, with Clark and Imra, he's able to feel his excitement about this new step in his life. It is all very college! I felt all of these things before I left too! But beyond that, this is also a great example of the way Jon will compartmentalize his issues and limit his vulnerability depending on who he's talking to. He has a tendency to minimize his own feelings in order to make other people more comfortable, which you can really see in the different things he's willing to express with each person.

Anyway, I think there's more to be said here and I'd love to hear what other people think about these moments, but I'll call it here. Moral of the story, read Lois Lane 2019 and then create something for the Jon Kent Week Mama's boy prompt- the Jon and Lois in that book are top tier. Also, if you've gotten this far you clearly like this kind of analysis so here's my post about why they aged up Jon. When I posted it Tumblr had put me in jail and turned me into a robot (wow Absolute Power is so immersive!) so it didn't show up in the tag. Sorry for the plug but I'm a little bitter about it lol.

Insane Clone Murders Beloved Doctor. More at 5!

Clone medic Kix stared at the holo, it was several rotations old now. But it was plastered everywhere. The journalists and news tabloids reported on your deaths before your bodies were even cold. 

It made no sense. Fives died before you did.

Fuck, Rex held him as his life disappeared. You were alive when the ARC trooper was shot. He died in that storage facility. General Skywalker could confirm that.

So what happened to you? 

Your body was found in the hospital. Supposedly in the same room you had gone into when you felt sick. General Shaak Ti, as well as Mas Amedda confirmed that was your last location. However, none of your colleagues knew you were there. It turned out to be the Chancellor that found you, apparently he wanted to speak with you after his assassination attempt.

Kix tried to talk to Rex and the General about his concerns. He saw you. He talked to you. Why’d you end up back at the hospital? 

Thankfully, the Jedi would share his concerns and speak with the Chancellor. 

It was…odd. Very odd.

Captain Rex filled his own grievous report. After all, what commander sets his blaster to kill on a fellow clone? 

Fox was given the title ‘trigger happy vod killer’ and Kix took a sick satisfaction that he was under heat for his mistake. It didn’t bring you or Fives back, but maybe the Corrie would think twice before brutally shooting down a brother. 

It didn’t help now though. The last domino had fallen, leaving Rex in shambles. 

You were dead. In the eyes of the public, you had been killed by a deranged clone. The moment your heart stopped was the moment any clone rights bill in the senate was shot down. 

It would be many rotations before another bill gets discussed. But now your name would be used as a talking point against clone rights. Fuck, your picture was being plastered on every anti-clone poster from here to Ryloth.

Something both you and Fives would hate. 

While he didn’t know you as deeply as others, he could tell you cared about clones and their treatment. It was partly why Fives had been drawn to you. You two loved each other so deeply. Even if Fives was ordered by the damn Chancellor to shoot you, he’d refuse. 

Maker, none of this made sense!

Kix sighed and turned off his holo, focusing on walking through the quiet halls. He had gone to The Resolute to update Fives’ medical records. The 501st field surgeon was entirely too shattered to do anything, so the medic opted to get the task done. 

When he opened the door to the medical bay, he didn’t expect to see a modified assistant surgical droid.

The little robot turned, feminine robot voice greeting him, “Hello! Please tell me if you are Clone medic Kix or field surgeon of the 501st Doctor-”

He cut off the droid and rubbed his temple, “I’m Kix. What do you need?”

“I have sensitive patient information that I was ordered to deliver directly to you.” it hovered closer to him as it answered. 

“By who?” the medic asked, interest piqued now.

When the droid said your name, he froze. You sent him something? Why? Was this a joke? Or was this something you managed to do before your demise? Regardless, Kix needed to know more, “Open the files.” 

The little robot blinked and through its eyes were files. Scans of the clones' brains. The original scans the 501st doctor had gotten from Umbara. The medic had thought the files were destroyed after the scanner disappeared, but apparently you made copies. His eyes roamed the images, trying to decipher why’d you send these to him. 

However, the droid beeped and brought up your holo message. He took in your appearance. Scared, exhausted and disheveled. But alive. Proof you were alive after Fives had died, based on the timestamp attached to the message. 

The clone medic listened to your words intently. Your terrified warning about the tumors…the chips. The orders to kill Jedi. the Chancellor. 

All of it. 

He knew what happened to you now, in your final moments. After you had met with Fives, you returned to the hospital to get these scans. If you died in the hospital, most likely you were killed by a hired assassin. Or one of the Corries were given orders to hunt you down to kill you.  

You risked everything for this evidence. Even if you paid the price, you managed to complete your mission.

Once your holo message had concluded, Kix looked at the datapad in his hands. 

“I need you to upload those files to my datapad.” He ordered. 

“Yes, clone medic Kix!” 

Kix believed you. He believed Fives. He just needed more. He couldn’t come out on your words alone. The scans had deniability. They weren’t enough. 

He needed more evidence. More proof. 

Once Kix had the files, he sent the droid on its way. 

The medic would need to be careful. His investigation, his mission to gather everything you and Fives couldn't, would need to be slow and steady. 

If the Chance- if Palpatine had killed Fives, Kix didn’t stand a chance. He’d need to play his cards right in order to survive. 

But he’d do this. He’d gather more information. For Tup. For you. For Fives. 

For all of his vode.

Pairing: Charlie Kenton (Real Steel) x GN!Reader

A/N: Holy shit. It's been MILLION YEARS SINCE I'VE POSTED SOMETHING MYSELF OH MY GOD. I've wrote it last night, since I'm totally, entirely, fully obsessed with Hugh Jackman. I've been watching his movies like crazy, and Real Steel, right alongside X-Men, Wolverine, and The Greatest Showman is one of my favorite ones.

There's barely anything with Charlie- so I thought I'll add my little brick to this small wall. It's just a drabble, buuuut if it gets good feedback, I'll probably keep on going with this trope lmao.

This one was inspired by one small post I've seen with Kenton, but I cannot find the author of it. If you're the author, or you know what post I'm talking about, lmk! I'll link them below. ANYWAY, LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED

„Look at that!”

Max said enthusiastically, as he and his father, the one and only Charlie Kenton moved through the hagar filled with people.

It was an old place, used to be some sort of factory – now turned into one of the most well known underground places of robot fights.

Since the fight with Zeus, Charlie, Max and Atom made quite a name for themselves. After that spectacular fight, lots of stuff changed, one of them being the fact that Aunt Debra actually let Charlie and Max keep on meeting from time to time, mostly to enjoy their time on robot fights.

Charlie eventually payed her and her loathed husband back those 50 grand he took during the time of his first real meeting with Max.

Another good thing was the fact, that he and Max, got closer than they’ve ever been. Charlie never thought they’d got to this point, that he’ll actually become a decent dad. Yet, here they are.

„Yeah, those guys are massive”

Charlie chuckled, as he saw Max stare in awe at some of the biggest names in the underground. Black Bull, Sparkle, Hercules. Robots known for their strength and deadly punches.

The big ones and the most valuable ones.

„Oh my god, is that Firefly?”

Max gasped, as he sprinted towards the ring where one of the bots was currently under a maintenance.

„Ma- Max! Hold on, don’t run off!”

Charlie called out for him, and cursed under his breath, seeing the boy completely focused on the bot itself. But as he catch up to his son, Charlie let out a whistle. It was Firefly.

„I never thought I’ll see that bot up close.”

Charlie put his hands into his pockets, looking at the steady piece of metal.

„She won over 20 fights in a row in a big Ligue! Never made it to the exact top, but her kill count is the one of the highest in the rank!”

Max spoke, his clear excitement and hyperfixation over the bots showing once again. He was just about to say more as a voice called.

„I see you know your stuff, little guy”

A person walked in, cleaning their oil dirty hands with the rag, before they throw it over their shoulder.

Max’s jaw dropped slightly, as he once glanced at the bot, then at the person themselves.

„Oh- oh my god, you’re-„

„___? In the flesh, good to meet a smart kid out here”

You flashed him a warm smile, putting your hands onto your hips. You eyed both of them, before moving onto the steps leading to the ring.

„You guys are the ones who made Zeus run for his money?”

At your question, Max smiled widely, nodding his head.

„Hell yeah! Atom basically kicked that guys ass”

That kid had some fire in him, his reaction making you chuckle. Charlie on the other hand was quiet, swallowing hardly to water his suddenly dry throat.

Holy shit, he knew you were hot, but damn.

It wasn’t a secret who you were. Firefly, back in the day, was one of the most famous robots fighting in the underground. She started small, but almost immediately made a name for herself between the big guys, despite her thin build. She was known for not relying on the strength only, but on her speed. Using her size difference and reaction time, she was able to put robots much bigger than herself on the floor.

And you were the one who build her out of scratch.

„What’s wrong with Firefly?”

Max asked again, as he walked closer to the ring, putting his elbows up, leaning over the edge slightly. He glanced around all the tools and cables laying around, as you worked on something in the robots guts.

„Nothing wrong. Just usual maintenance. I have to make sure that this girl will work just fine during today’s match”

„Match? There’s fight tonight?”

Max’s gaze instantly went on you in interest, hearing the mention of upcoming fight.

You nodded your head, closing the back panel of your robot, grabbing a flat screwdriver in the meantime.

„Yeah. They’re still gathering list of opponents today. I thought, why not give it a try? It’s been a while for me and that old rusty girl”

You patted bot's back, as if it was an old, well known friend. Because it was.

Building her took more than you’d like to admit, but the moves she could pull off were unique. She was one of the kind, as some people tend to say.

„Let her fight with Atom!”

Max called out, which made you turn your head towards him.

And at that, it seemed that Charlie finally found his voice, immediately shaking his head.

„Wha- no. No- Max’s, there’s no way-„

„Atom? You think that little guy could put up a fight with her?”

You glanced at Charlie, before your gaze turned to the blond boy once again.

Sensing a challenge in your tone, he smirked widely nodding his head.

„Yeah. How about 1000 for the winner?”

„Max, have you lost your-„

Charlie tried to speak again, just to get cut by you once more.

„20 grand for the winner. But let’s make it simpler. If you guys win, I’ll pay. If I win, you don’t have to pay me. Because if I do end up winning, it means there won’t be much left of your bot”

You mimicked the boys smirk. In that moment, you could see the similarities in both of them.

While Max had the biggest grin on his face, Charlie looked straight up nervous.

„Alright, but if we do win, you’ll also show us what you did with Firefly to make her this good, deal?”

„Max, can you just-„

„Deal”

Charlie looked at you once again, desperately hoping you wouldn’t see that twitch in his expression. Both from the fact he didn’t wanted to get embarrassed in front of a person he heard so much about over his years as a robot trainer, but also, because he wanted to have at least slightest chance with you in the future.

You hop off the ring, and reached to your back pocket. Pulling out a contact card from behind your phones case, you handed it to the boy, before ruffling his hair a bit.

„Consider it as a friendly advice from more experienced friend. Also – I won’t make it easy for you, guys”

„You don’t have to. Atom will win”

Max said again, that cocky smile never leaving his lips.

You nodded your head with a smile, before you looked at Charlie.

„Contact me when you’ll have a time for that fight. See ya around”

With that, you turned on your heel, probably going off to prepare yourself for the tonight’s fight.

As Charlie and Max stood there, the eleven year old turned to his father, before he basically pushed tha card into his hands.

„You’re welcome”

He said with a roll of his eyes.

Kenton looked at the card, before he scoffed, turning to look at his son.

„Welcome? Welcome for what?”

„For getting you a date”

Oh, that little bastard...

Jesus of Zhumadian

I’m a big fan of cross-cultural mashups of folktales, myths, and legends, and of creative misreadings that twist familiar tales into strange shapes. The ancient story in Liezi of the craftsman Master Yan who built an automaton for King Mu of Zhou has the compelling ingredients—a skilled engineer, a sophisticated mechanical man who seduces palace maidens, a jealous monarch—that make it ripe for reinterpretation by present-day science fiction and fantasy writers interested in exploring robots, love, and AI.

The following piece takes a more folkloric approach, concocting a wonderfully off-the-wall story (masquerading as a folktale from Zhumadian, Henan) out of a blend of Liezi’s account and several other well-known elements. The story diverges from Liezi right from the start by reanalyzing 偃师 Yǎn shī [“Master Yan”] as the ancient settlement of Yanshi, now a district of Luoyang. It hit a sweet spot for me when I first read it on Christmas, 2017, and I’ve pulled the translation out every Easter and Christmas since then to tackle the bilingual puns. It’s coming up on Easter again and I’ve finally accepted the fact that I won’t ever crack them. So here’s an English version that doesn’t quite capture the clever humor of the original.

A Story of the Birth of Christ

Liezi tells the story of the wooden puppet of Yanshi, describing how King Mu of Zhou passed through Yanshi in Henan on an inspection tour and was introduced to a carpenter, Yuese [“Joseph”] by name, from the Western Regions. This carpenter made for the king a mechanical man that could talk, sing, dance, and make all manner of expressions. Delighted, the king brought his beloved concubine Sheng Ji to see the curio, but to everyone’s surprise, when the wooden puppet saw how beautiful she was, it made a pass at her. The king was incensed and ordered the carpenter killed. Yuese was forced to flee that night with his wife Ma Liya [“Maria”]. The torrential Yellow River lay to the north of Yanshi, so they had to flee south, traveling in such haste that they had made no arrangements for lodging along the way but could only find refuge for the night in the stable of a large inn.

When he awoke the next morning, Yuese the carpenter saw the inn’s name on the sign hanging outside: Zhumadian 驻马店, “Horse Garrison Inn.” He knew this was a sign from heaven, for his wife’s surname was Ma [“horse”]. And so he settled there under the assumed name “Lu Ban” and made a living building houses and tool handles. Lu Ban’s superb carpentry skills and attractive, sturdy handles made his work popular with the locals. The couple bought a house and property and lived a decent life with just one imperfection to speak of: hunted as they were by the king’s army, the carpenter’s wife had lost a child well into a pregnancy and was never able to conceive again.

Lu Ban’s wife wanted children, and Lu Ban hoped for issue to carry on his craft. Every night after work, the two of them would lie in bed and sigh in despair. One day, Lu Ban’s wife said to him, “With all your skill at woodworking, why not make us a child?” Inspired, Lu Ban went into a frenzy of work shut up inside his shop where no one could see what he was making.

On the sixth day, which happened to coincide with the winter solstice, Lu Ban proclaimed, “Woman, come quickly and take a look. We have a child!” His wife hurried over but saw nothing but her husband lying exhausted on the floor of a workshop covered in sawdust and paint (this is why all carpenters thereafter have rested one day of every seven). She was just about to help him to his feet when all of a sudden a plump, naked baby tumbled into her arms with a cry of “Mama!” She looked closer: Oh! What an adorable child. She was beside herself with joy.

When the people of Zhumadian heard that Lu Ban had a child at long last, they came to offer their congratulations, and the village head even brought gifts of eggs, millet, and solstice dumplings fresh from the pot so the carpenter’s wife could take her month’s rest. However, a few gossipy married ladies kept talking behind her back about how they’d never seen her pregnant, so how had she given birth to such a big baby all of a sudden?

Rumors and gossip spread, and it was even suggested that the carpenter’s wife had gotten involved with a monk at the temple. Naturally, Lu Ban couldn’t reveal that their son was the work of his hands in wood rather than his wife’s biological child, so he simply told people that on one occasion when he had been asked to craft a statue of Guanyin for the local temple, the very night the statue was finished the two of them had dreamed an identical dream of Lady Guanyin saying that she would send a child from heaven as their reward.

When the carpenter’s son grew up, he followed in his dad’s footsteps as a skilled woodworker, building homes and making furniture for people far and wide. The lack of clocks in ancient times was a major inconvenience, but the young carpenter rose early for work and returned home late, giving him time to observe the heavens and granting him the knowledge of the changing of days. And so at the gate of every town and village, he erected a crossbar to mark the time by reckoning the sun’s shadow. He made them tall and sturdy enough to withstand the wind and rain, and over time these crosses became the emblem of Zhumadian’s carpenters.

Since the crosses were used as a standard basis (“jīzhǔn”) for inspecting and monitoring (“dūchá”) the passage of time, they were known by the abbreviated term “jī-dū crosses,” but as the years passed and the story was handed down, people ended up calling the carpenter who invented the crosses “Jīdū” [“Christ”], and his original name was all but forgotten.

Notes

The spurious citation provided in the story is to a nonexistent edition of an actual collection, part of a series devoted to local folk tales and songs throughout China.

The story of Master Yan and King Mu of Zhou is found in the “Questions of Tang” 汤问 chapter of Liezi 列子, a 4th century Daoist text. The 1912 translation by Lionel Giles is a popular one, but Graham’s 1960 translation doesn’t appear to be online. Lu Ban 鲁班 was a craftsman in the Zhou dynasty who lived around five centuries after King Mu, and was the legendary inventor of several carpentry tools and a cloud ladder for siege warfare, among other devices. Notably, Liezi’s account of Master Yan concludes with a mention of Lu Ban, declaring that his cloud ladder and Mozi’s wooden kite both pale in comparison to the automaton.

The author informs me that after he wrote this story, he discovered that according to the scholar Feng Shi 冯时, there is indeed a connection between the oracle bone character for 督 dū “monitor” and the sun’s shadow.

I keep talking about this woman but I haven't really posted a ref so here is one I whipped up really quickly. I am out of practice drawing bc of my 9-5 NGL.

Some additional things:

She and June basically raised Jack and Stormy as siblings. Jack was 2 and Stormy was 5 when they met, and the kids are currently 16 and 19.

Speaking of, Jack only calls Liv "Ma" if he's really scared/upset/etc. Otherwise, she gets first named and she doesn't really mind.

Bot will call you a nickname (usually just a shortened version of your actual name, but sometimes stuff like "Jackrabbit" and "Chickadee" for her kids.) unless you explicitly say you hate being called by a nickname or she is being serious.

Bot wears a lumbar back brace due to an injury leaving bot in p bad chronic back pain without it.

Bot is autistic and has a special interest in "AI gone rogue" as a genre (A Space Odyssey, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, etc)

Gender? She will tell you "I am a woman, but I am also a robotic rogue AI machine."

She's pretty buddy-buddy with Optimus. Bot likes having conversations with him.

Bot is the more wild, "why don't we just try?" parent to balance out June's overprotective nature.

wada sez: This is the first of three strips created by Iván Mas which were rejected by Mosaic editorial for whatever reason—in this case, because it has neither original artwork nor a comic-strip format. I’ve been a little unsure about what the hell to do with these rejected strips, because there’s no good place to put them; I’ve actually already shared one of the rejected strips as part of this archive, as part of the behind-the-scenes material for “Shogun”, which it appeared to have evolved into. The core stylistic idea behind “The Oregonian” would similarly evolve into another strip by Iván Mas, which is coming up in just a couple of days, so as a prelude to that strip I’ve decided to share the other rejected ones now. If you think this is giving Mas’ work undue precedence, all I’ll say is that TFNation this year I got talking to a chap about Mosaic and one of the first things he said was something like “I just remember those strips by those Spanish dudes. Those rocked.” So there. The idea here is pretty similar to that used in Dreamwave's first Generation 1 series, for an in-universe newspaper article; this one's set in Sunbow continuity, before the Transformers become public knowledge. The meteor which splits in two is in fact the Ark and the Nemesis, the Autobot and Decepticon spaceships locked in mutually-assured destruction. The loss of fuel at the oil rig is down to the Decepticons, as it's the one they raid in the very first episode of the cartoon. "I. Sam" is an anagram of "I. Mas", while the other namedrops are his usual collaborators: "Carlos O" being Carlos Oliveros, and "R. Yáñez" being Rafael Yáñez. I've no idea who "Philip Theblack" could be a nod to, though. Well, this Mosaic has been rejected for being "unclassifiable" because apparently Mosaics have not been made from photos .....

That is to say, they haven’t taken photos, they have been filtered by photoshop and have been put inside squares, apparently not .....

Sure ... according to this rule of three, this is not valid, because .... is not a comic page, of course, it can not be a splash page of an open newspaper ... with some leaked pictures ... of course....

Anyway, this makes me think about finishing several mosaics, a bit "experimental", that why not?

I think they could be good ... because I say ... why limit ourselves to make a simple and plain comic page ?! why not try other things that fans can be attracted to or like even more than a simple page which we lose 2 minutes to look at ? why not push boundaries and media ? .... well ... because it is not possible, because apparently there are unwritten rules and known only by a few privileged people, that being said by the way ... could make them public to know what to expect and why not ... save us the time.

So they would be "UNCLASSIFIABLE" ... but personally I think that for a long time categories should have been established for each one to be more identifiable, so I do not see why there could not be one where it says "Unclassifiable".

So it gives me the sensation that some limitations are marked, I do not understand very well because .... I suppose that it will be the best thing.

Lois and Jimmy were able to bring Amazo back to Jimmy and Clark's apartment after the incident at Mt. Simonson and Clark being arrested and DuBois like a lot of people not knowing Clark and Superman are the same person.

Amazo recalls his time at the lab under the mountain and remembers Ivo and Lex both of whom I go more in depth here and here respectively.

Dubois and his team are still on the look out for Amazo and they found the robot with Lois, Jimmy, and Ma and Pa Kent driving on the Metropolis Bay Bridge.

Metropolis Bay makes its first appearance in Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane #11 (1959). It wasn't until DC rebooted after Crisis on Infinite Earths that Metropolis Bay gets renamed to be Hob's Bay in Superman #87 (1997) where it gets Hobsneck Bridge that connects Southside to Metropolis.

On the bridge with DuBois and his team we see Killgrave who I talked more about here.

After a scuffle between DuBois and Superman that causes Amazo to stress out and cause the bridge to collapse, everyone was able to make it out safe and took refuge at Cadmus. I talked more about that place here.

If you remember who took up residence at Cadmus at the end of episode 6 of season 1, we see Amanda Waller and Slade watching over our group. I talked more about Waller and Checkmate here and here respectively.

Me: Hey, I should do some short posts on the SD Gundam series designs, since I won’t have much to say on them.

Also me: I should do a post on the Great Zeong.

The MSN-03-2 Great Zeong was an upgraded version of the MSN-03 Zeong, a sister unit to the MSN-02 Zeong which was used by Char at a Baoa Qu. Though a veritable improvement on the Original Zeong, the Principality of Zeon lacked both the resources or technological know-how to build it. A prime example of the latter would be that the Great Zeong was designed to split into seven independently functioning parts, all controlled by the Newtype pilot, compared to the original’s comparatively simple wired hands and detachable head for use as an escape system. The Great Zeong is armed with a scattering mega particle gun in the chest which can also function as a “standard” Large Mega Particle Gun, a 5-barrel Mega Particle Gun in each of the arms (the arm is essentially built around the gun) which can of course be detached through the psycommu system. The Great Zeong is also armed with a mega particle gun in each leg, and another one in the head. There is yet another small Mega Particle Gun behind the front skirt, typically used when the lower body is detached. Moving on from beam-related weaponry, there are two Anti-ship missiles contained within each shoulder binder and finally each leg mounts a heat claw on its underside. In addition to all this, the Great Zeong mounts an I-Field Barrier Generator (presumably in the chest) and a Minovsky Craft System for atmospheric flight. Just as with the original, the head could also be used as an escape system. Interestingly, each of the separate parts mounts a mono-eye system when separated, including a secondary head mounted inside the upper body, akin to the Apsalus or Zaku II (I wonder if that’s any benefit to the pilot, or it’s just a design thing) . The design would be later developed into the NZ-000 Queen Mansa/Quin Mantha.

Before I get into talking about the design, I want to give a quick run-down on my feelings towards the better-known Zeong’s:

The Original MSN-02 Zeong is absolutely gorgeous. Legless, murderous, kingly, terrifying. It’s a fantastic design and its lack of legs adds charm, especially since it replaces them with thruster bells, granting it great speed and manoeuvrability. The wired hands are uniquely effective, heartening back to Gundam’s super robot roots, but also being supremely effective in combat. The head has a sort of grim expression to it, and the thrusters on each side give it a noble look- appropriate for a suit bearing the name of Zeon itself. I will admit bias here, since GBO2 gives it the sort of move-set where it can continually throw beams at something while managing to dodge with little trouble, but I do still like the Zeong itself. It feels like an appropriate final threat to cap off the series, without going overboard.

The Perfect Zeong is the Zeong with legs. Solid, makes for some cool poses, and I like how they just make it look more imposing.

I said during my Build Metaverse review that I don’t really like Mobile Armours that are just a bunch of fancy weapons and systems crammed on. The Neo Zeong is that. I like both Gundam Unicorn and Gundam Narrative, the series they’re from, and I think that they’re utilised well, but they don’t really grab me design-wise (if you need four I-fields for cover, and it still doesn’t cover the entirety of the Mobile Armour, then your MA is too large). Though I will admit that I’m probably down on them because I really like the Sinanju, which is used as their control unit. The Psycho Shard Generator does make for some cool visuals, but it’s probably the absolute limit of Newtype tech in U.C.

Also, I’m probably not gonna get the opportunity to bring this up again, but it’s stated that the Neo Zeong II is built using spare parts from the original. If you have enough left over to build a completely new unit of something as big as the Neo Zeong, I’m not sure that can be classed as a “spare” anymore.

As a successor to the original Zeong, I genuinely prefer the Great Zeong to the Neo Zeong, simply because it’s still a mobile suit, albeit a beefy one. The Neo Zeong is just a block of armour and Newtype tech, though I’ll admit this is just the design since I enjoy its use in the series. I just like how imposing the Great Zeong is, and it feels like an excellent evolution of the Zeong’s design. The Zeong’s an unfinished prototype, albeit a strong one, the Perfect Zeong is that prototype completed and the Great Zeong is just the Zeong but more, with it’s arsenal of mega particle cannons and additional weaponry. The fact that it can split into seven feels like the designer took the Zeong’s wired arms and just ran with it, which is fun, and the heat claws are a nice addition. I also like the shoulder binders, since they give it a gorgeous silhouette but they’re also used for the anti-ship missiles and Minovsky Craft System. I like the subtle change to head, it gives it a more aggressive feel when compared to the grim expression of the original.

Basically any celebrity if you stalk them or think you can marry them that’s weird! Fanfiction is FICTION and they are real people with lives. I see this stuff a lot in the K-pop community so I just wanted to put that as a disclaimer here I in no way support that behavior.

Im I’m a lot of fandoms but my main ones are Genshin, ATLA, Sonic, Mega Man, Legend of Zelda, Mario, Daria, MCU (mainly GOTG these days) Disney/Pixar, Spiderverse + animation in general. I used to be into Star Wars and Hunger Games but I’m more casual with it now. Im bad at watching shows because of my ADHD and need to finish stranger things and umbrella academy someday and then I’ll post them haha. I have a lot of dead fandoms from not finishing stuff. I’m cool w all ships aside from p3d0 stuff (I personally don’t read 1ncest but it it’s fiction idrc. I will mention I’m in the Archie Sonic fandom to an extent and I ship Knuxulie who are distant cousins, but I don’t count is as 1ncest because everyone is technically related, it’s pretty distant, and Ken Penders is weird. It’s stuff like siblings, parent/child, first cousins, etc. that icks me out. I also don’t ship adopted siblings like Thor and Loki because that’s still incest imo. robot masters are a gray area because there are so many Wilybots, there is a brief mention of Snake/Shadow in the fic, but all the main sibling ones I don’t ship together.) and people who say shit like “all reylos are toxic” don’t fly with me. I use this as an example because it’s what my ex used to do. Also taking things way too seriously about fiction like saying SU is the worst thing ever (I also want to mention my ex agreed with Lily Orchard and when I pointed out the rightful criticism she got for her lack of research, he said people only hate her because she is trans. He is a cis guy.) I also want to be clear that cishet guys who hate Korra as a character are on thin ice. I have weirdly specific boundaries because of my ex bf.

I hate people who gatekeep stuff in fandoms too unless you’re gatekeeping it from racist people or something. I also hate people who say “you’re not a real fan if you like/dislike a thing the fandom dislikes/likes”, people who harass writers or actors because they don’t like a show like be fr. So if I see that stuff on my page you’ll be blocked. Also saying stuff is non canon just because you don’t like it. The two biggest examples are the Star Wars sequel trilogy and BOTW/TOTK. People who say anyone who likes the sequel trilogy is a fake fan, and people who say that TOTK isn’t a real Zelda game just because they don’t like it. It’s annoying.

Also boundaries but please please don’t talk to me about me being a bad person and boycotts and other online activism stuff like targeting and harassing me. Sharing info about that stuff is fine! But don’t berate me or others for our decisions. It’s a huge boundary for me. I will block you if you start harassing me or saying “you don’t care about x if….” You don’t know me, and we all picks and choose our battles. Touch grass.
