Horror characters w/ a child in the school musical

Notes: In honor of my school's drama club being shut down and me having to go to my neighboring school. (You can tell I have favorites ;))

Otis Driftwood

The fact that you even have to go to school is a problem to him. With his whole "I hate rules" get up, did you really think he'd want you going to some crummy government public school? He literally hates everything about it..

But... it would be suspicious if you didn't go to school, considering some people in the neighboring town knew there was a kid in the house..

When you bring up wanting to be in your school's musical?

He's all for it, wether you're a little kid or a teenager, surprisingly.

I think he'd be into the idea since he himself is very artsy, he sees it as his kiddo trying to express themselves, and he's all for it.

Especially if you are also in charge of the set (My school's was five people so I always did set), he's so excited to see what you come up with, even if it boringly lacks and pain and suffering.

He won't clean up to come watch it, he will genuinely show up with his matty white hair under his oddly stained cowboy hat, his 'burn this flag' tank top, dirty boots.. he gets odd looks, no one sits next to him or the family, murmuring that they stink.

he's so proud.

"______, do you know who that guy in the front row who keeps grimacing is in the cowboy hat? He's scaring off our audience,"

"That's my dad :)"

Baby Firefly

Oh, she is EXCITED

As a performer herself, coughcoughthefloorshowcoughcough,

If this is a highschool show, she gets into alllll the drama. All the petty fights, tantrums, affairs going on, all the juicy shit that happens during musical season. Perfect person to bitch with about it.

She will come to every single one of the shows, she tells people to come constantly.

She'd have you practice in front of victims as an "audience,"

She is so thrilled, this is the funnest thing ever to her.

Gushes over the costumes

If you don't get a lead you really wanted, she is just as petty as you are about it.

Opening night, she'll give you a boquet of flowers she totally didn't steal before hand.

The best drama mama!

"She's such a bitch, who's she think she is, huh? You deserved that role much more than them, god what a whore."

"Tell me about it,"

Mama Firefly

Aw, she thinks its so dear.

It's been a long time since she had a little one in the home, she's excited to do things that actually make her feel like a mom again.

Supports you in any way you need, practice running late? She's packed you a sandwich and an extra water. Need help going over a scene? Well, she'll try her damn best!

I feel she'd be the type of mom to help make her kids costume if it fell on the kids shoulder

She is so excited to see it when it comes time, she drags R.J, Otis, and Baby (sorry Tiny) out of the home to go see it

She dresses up all nice and fights her way to the front row

She cheers loudly for you.

"Do we have to be here?" Otis grumbled, "Yes, this is your little sibling, now hush it's startin'"

Chop-Top Sawyer

Oh god it's a mess,

it's not that he's not excited, he's very excited his spitfire is into music just like him

but that's the problem, he's too excited.

It's not like he can just... come and watch-

He's not exactly normal, y'know.

Now this could go two different ways,

1. He doesn't go watch, but makes Drayton go and record it so he can watch it himself (if he cares enough by then)

2. He goes and causes a scene and you both just blame it on his Vietnam PTSD which gets you both a lot of sympathy points.

If he does get to go, he freaks a lot of people out. He wears his wig, assuming they replaced his Sonny Bono wig, but is constantly digging at his plate with his tongue just..sticking out. Plus he talks funny and stinks and- god people are trying to figure out who this loud creeper is and why he's here..

Then they see him at the end of the show...standing with you. Gossip spreads quickly..

Some who refuse to believe it, mistake Drayton as your father at the end of the show.

"Hello, I'm assuming your ______'s father? I wanted to tell you just how talented-" "Oh! Hey Mister Johnson, I see you've met my uncle Drayton," "Uncle?" "Yeah, this is my dad," "Oh...Uhm..." "Hi *heavy breathing*" "Forgive him, he's still adjusting from 'Nam."

Billy and Stu

They are both so incredibly normal about your interests

So I'm like conflicted cause one part of me wants to believe that they don't really care all that much but the other part of me that recognizes them as huge nerds is wielding a sword.

Shut up, Stu had a musical phase in middle school, FIGHT ME.

Stu is definitely more excited than Billy is

and it's not that Billy's not excited, Stu just shows it more than Billy.

100% flexible with your schedule, they take turns dropping you off and picking you up if you can't drive.

Stu uses it as an excuse to get out of stuff.

"Sorry, can't, gotta take chick-pea to practice tonight, yeah sooo sorry."

Billy is the type to get volunteered by you if big pieces of the set need done and no one else will do it.

He'll grumble, but it will be done.

Stu donates a lot of money towards the program, half in attempts to get the director to favorite you and give you parts you want.

Stu and Billy come to every show, all of them, without fail.

This is important to you, and you're important to them, so this is important to them.

Stu is so hype on opening night, giving you a pep-talk all day before you go to get ready.

They are so proud of you when the show is over, and will both help you out of that after show slumps.

"C'mon baby, what was the name of the lead your the understudy for?" "Kelly?" "No, Chick-pea, the name of the actor..." "Guys- no."

Carrie White

stop she's so proud of you,

even if you don't end up with a big part, she's so proud that you have the confidence to do something she would have never dared to of done when she was young.

She might even be involved? I could see her making costumes- I mean, she made her prom dress and that shit was stunning.

I think she'd be more partial to you doing activities such as music or band or some form of art over sports.

The arts are just a lot less dangerous than sports, she just wants you to be safe. But she also wants you to be happy.

She will come to every single show,

She'd be the mom to help you go over lines if you needed to as well, or offer to try and help practice a dance you needed to learn.

She definitely cries watching you up on stage,

will get you the prettiest flowers and tell all your co-stars that they did such a good job.

"Mama, can you help me with this scene? I just need you to read for Yente," "Of course honey, where do you want me to start?:)"

Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham,

First off, you go to a private school. No kin of Lecter's is going to be caught dead in a public school.

He is rather thrilled when you mention performing for the school, he does love the arts after all.

Whatever you want and or need, singing lessons, dancing lessons, acting classes, whatever you want.

He will dress up for the occasion, he brings Will as well who is way under dressed, but it's always nice to see him.

I don't think Hannibal would come to every show, sometimes his appointments run late, he has a lot to do, but he will come if you have a parents night and he will come see the opening show.

If anything, Will might try and make all of them if you two are close, he knows what it's like not to have a parent show up to something so important.

Hannibal would make food for a cast party if you had one after.

No there are no people in it.

Hannibal has DVD's of all of the shows you have ever done and whips them out ALL THE TIME... The first time Will even heard of you-

"Hannibal, what are all these DVD's? Why are they labeled '_____'?" "Hm? Oh. _______ is my child, those are their performance videos." "you have a kid-" "They do musical theater, sit down, we shall watch the films." "you have...a kid-"

Beetlejuice

He's actually so upset that he can't come watch your show physically.

It's okay- there's a recorded version for him. He'll feel less bad.

He LOVES performing so this is actually perfect, but of course it is! You're his little ghoul.

He actually already knows the whole show so he is very good at helping you practice.

"Aw- toots- you're almost as good as me. Almost."

Micheal Myers (Slight RZ)

Like most things, he's indifferent.

Good luck getting him to come see even one of your shows.

He shows interest in your little hobby when you talk about it, sit next to him and talk about the show as he makes his masks. He listens.

Now.. If he does come see a show? He will only see one, most likely the last one as they are less packed (less likely anyone will recognize him,)

He'll wear a medical mask, his hair mostly covering the rest of his face, he sits in the very back.

He's slightly warmed at just how much the act meant to you.

Your director will approach you after seeing you hug the very tall man with the long hair and covered face, as he just pat you haphazardly on the head before leaving.

"______, someone you know?" "uh huh, that's my dad." "Your dad.. huh.. he seems very quiet." "Yeah, he don't say very much. I didn't think he was gonna come." "Well, I'm glad he did." "yeah, me too."

The Lost Boys

obviously, if you're going to school, you're a human still.

The only way they could come see your show would be if it was late in the evening, and they would probably show up late.

They're very happy for you and want to support you! It's just difficult with them being vampires.

Paul and Marko definitely get a kick out of acting out scenes from your script with you.

Dwayne is interested in the storyline, he also enjoys watching you act. You're in your element, it's like you're a different person.

David, on the other hand, is just amused that you're into all this stuff. It's not that he thinks its dumb or anything, he thinks you do a great job, it's just not really his scene, y'know.

But, you're their baby bat, they'd literally do anything for you, so as you're up on stage during the third song and see a blur of leather jackets and mullets sitting in the back, you can't help but smile.

"God- why are the guys from the board walk here." "They're my family :)" 'HUH-"

Golden Quartet - Harry Potter - Chapter 2

Summary: The Golden Quartet (2 Weasley’s, a Granger and a Potter) have been friends since their first year at Hogwarts. Kelsey’s POV

“Something wicked this way comes!” The choir sings their last line. 

It’s about 8 hours after the Dementor attack on Harry. We still don’t know why they targeted him today when they were supposed to be looking for Sirius Black. We’re now sitting at our Gryffindor table wearing our robes, waiting for Dumbledore to make his First of the Year speech as he always does. I’m sitting across from Harry who is sitting next to Ron while I sit next to Hermione. 

The choir toad ribbits finishing the song and they all walk down the side aisles to put their toads away as Dumbledore walks up to his podium. 

“Welcome!” He says, loudly as he holds out his hands. “Welcome to another year at Hogwarts! Now I’d like to stay a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I’m pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin, who has kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck, Professor.”

He gestures to the long table behind him and the said man stands up as everyone in the room claps for him. I smile widely and look at Harry, clapping excitedly.

“Of course! That’s why he knew to give you the chocolate, Harry.”

He raises his eyebrows in slight shock as he claps. 

“Potter! Potter!”

I look past my brother to see Draco Malfoy is turned toward Harry, calling for him. Harry and Ron turn around as well as the Slytherin begins to speak again. 

“Is it true you fainted?” He smirks as his friend pretends to faint. “You actually fainted?”

“Shove off, Malfoy.” Ron glares as he pushes Harry’s shoulder so he’s facing me again. 

“How did he find out?” Harry whispers.

“Just ignore him.” I whisper before looking at Dumbledore again.

“As some of you may know, Professor Kettleburn, our Care of Magical Creatures teacher for many years, has decided to retire in order to spend more time with his remaining limbs. Fortunately, I’m delighted to announce that his place will be filled by none other than our own Rubeus Hagrid!” Our Headmaster informs us.

He gestures to our giant friend and we all begin to clap again. I stick my pinkies into my mouth and whistle loudly before cheering. McGonagall elbows Hagrid’s side and he stands up, pushing the table with his large stomach, causing some of the goblets to fall down. I giggle and clap loudly along with my two best friends and my brother, happy our large friend is now known as Professor Hagrid.

It’s more likely than not because we proved his innocence last year. He wasn’t the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets 50 years ago.

“Finally, on a more disquieting note..” Dumbledore starts causing Hagrid to fall into his chair and the entire room goes quiet. “Hogwarts -- at the request of the Ministry of Magic -- will, until further notice, play host to the Dementors of Azkaban. Until such a time that Sirius Black is captured.”

Murmurs of questions fill the hall as students speak to each other. I glance at Hermione and Harry before looking back at our Headmaster.

“The Dementors will be stationed at the entrances to the grounds. While I have been assured they will not disrupt our day-to-day activities, a word of caution. Dementors are vicious creatures. They will not distinguish between the ones they hunt and the ones that get in their way. Therefore, I must warn each and everyone of you, give them no reason to harm you. It is not in the nature of a Dementor to be forgiving.” 

Dumbledore pauses before holding up both pointer fingers. “But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times…” 

He waves a hand causing one of the candles to burn out. 

“...if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

He waves his hand and the candle lights up again.

After Dinner

Everyone is walking to their common rooms now. Loud conversation and laughter is heard throughout the building. Seamus Finnigan runs ahead of everyone to get to the seventh floor landing first. I roll my eyes and joke around with Harry as we walk up the moving staircases. Loud and horrible singing from in front of us is heard and I raise an eyebrow. 

“Here, listen. She just won’t let me in.” Seamus tells us as we make it to the door. 

The Fat Lady guarding our door is singing up the scale while holding a glass.

“Fortuna Major.” Harry says to the lady.

“No, no. Wait. Wait.” She says, holding a hand out to us.

She starts singing up the scale again before screaming loudly. I cover my ears along with everyone else. She continues to scream as she glances at us. She realizes the glass isn’t going to break so she smacks it against the wall behind her and gasps.

“Amazing!” She looks at us, putting her hand on her chest. “Just with my voice.”

“Fortuna Major.” Harry repeats.

“Yes, alright.” She sighs and opens the painting. “Go in.”

“Thank you.” Harry sighs and walks in the door. 

I roll my eyes and follow him in.  

“She’s still doing it.” I sigh, glancing at him.

“And she can’t even sing!” He says, throwing his hands out slightly.

We walk together up the stairs to the bedrooms. I stop and wait for Hermione when Harry smiles at me and continues walking.

Harry’s POV - Later That Night

“Oh great. That’s a monkey.” Ron says as Seamus pops a candy in his mouth.

The guys and I are all hanging out in our shared room. Ron bought some magic candy while in Egypt that apparently makes you sound just like the animals they represent. Neville lays back on his bed, feet up the headboard, with his head by the end of his bed, reading a newspaper or magazine. Seamus stands to my left, wearing his red Gryffindor robe inside-out and his tie around his head. 

Dean is at the foot of my bed, propped up against the post, a slip of newspaper resting on his leg. To my right, sitting on my bed with his goofy toboggan with ear flaps on his head, Ron laughs at Seamus. As I sit near the top of my bed in a chair near the window, wearing a light blue pj shirt that Kelsey got me for Christmas last year, I laugh at Seamus’ actions. 

The boy’s imitating a monkey chattering as he moves around a little. Poorly imitating, I might add.

“What is that?” Dean laughs. 

“You call that a monkey?” I joke, glancing at Ron before looking back at Seamus.

“Do not give him one again.” Another one of my friends chimes in, chuckling.

“Hey, Neville. Try an elephant.” Ron says, tossing another candy to the boy on the other side of the room.

Leaning over the side of his bed, Neville catches the candy, quickly popping it in his mouth. He manages to do an authentic rendition of an elephant trumpeting. He does a much better imitation than Seamus’ attempt at a monkey. The guys and I all crack up laughing. 

Seamus even claps his hands as Neville slowly moves into a sitting position, leaning over the edge of his bed again, still trumpeting like an adult elephant.

“Ron, catch.” Seamus says as he tosses my ginger haired best friend another piece of the candy.

“Oh yeah.” Ron grins as he catches the candy.

As soon as it’s in his mouth, he starts doing a realistic imitation of a lion growling. Even more realistic than Neville’s elephant trumpeting. The guys and I all start ooh-ing and ah-ing in awe and amusement. Ron even does facial expressions to match the authentic lion sounds he’s making.

“We have a winner!” I say, laughing with the rest of the guys.

“Oh, don’t try one of them!” Ron says, quickly sticking his hand to stop me from getting one of my own pieces of the magic candy.

He doesn’t stop me fast enough as I pop one in my mouth, biting down into it.

“Oh, no!” He whines a little.

The guys all laugh as I start to eat it. 

“Look at his face!” Neville laughs.

I close my eyes as I eat it and steam comes out of my ears and the sound of a train whistle comes from my mouth. The guys all clap and laugh at my amusing example of a steam engine train. By the time my imitation is over, the guys all start a massive pillow fight. Leaning back, I smile and watch them have fun as they beat each other with our pillows. 

As I watch them, I can’t help but think of my bestest friend in the whole universe, both the muggle and the wizard world. 

Kelsey Weasley. 

When they’re not fighting, she’s just his twin sister and occasionally best friend to my own best friend, Ron. But she’s so much more to me than just a best friend. Although she isn’t aware of it. For the time being, I’m satisfied with being friends. I’d say yes in a fraction of a second if she ever said she felt the same way about me as I do with her.

Here’s the thing: from the moment I met Kelsey, which was a few minutes before I met Ron, I felt something I’d never felt before. I learned what that something was during our first year at Hogwarts. She’s my best friend...and I have a crush on her. Naturally, neither Kelsey nor Ron are aware of this. 

I’m not sure how they’d react if they found out I have a crush on her, particularly Ron. I don’t want to put my relationship with either of them in jeopardy. So for the time being, I’ll continue to keep my secret, as I have for the past three years. I’ll never tell anyone about the thoughts that have been accumulating in my mind for years now.

Like how I enjoy seeing the sunlight bounce off her red hair, creating the most beautiful fire I’ve ever seen. Or the way her smile brightens every room she enters. Or the way her laugh brightens even the darkest, saddest parts of my soul. Or the way, regardless of what’s going on in the world, whenever she’s around, I feel immediately relaxed, secure, and at peace.

All the other guys have gone to bed by the time I am yanked out of my thoughts. I crawl under the covers of my bed and drift off to sleep, smiling to myself and dreaming of Kelsey.

Next Day ~ Divination’s Class 

Kelsey’s POV

“Welcome, my children. In this room, you shall explore the noble art of Divination. In this room, you shall discover if you possess the Sight!” Our teacher says, standing up and accidentally runs into her table. “Hello. I am Professor Trelawney. Together, we shall cast ourselves into the future. This is the art of reading tea leaves so please...take the cup from the person sitting opposite you.”

I shake my head as I grab Ron’s cup as he, Harry and I sit around a small table. Ron shoots Harry a small smirk as he grabs his cup. Harry reaches over and grabs mine before looking into it, hiding his own smirk. 

“You see, the truth lies buried, like a sentence deep within a book waiting to be read.” She continues as she walks around the room. “But first! You must broaden your minds! You must look BEYOND!”

She holds onto Seamus’ head and shakes it slightly, as if it was proving her point. I go to whisper something to my brother when another voice is heard first. 

“That’s a load of rubbish.” 

I jump and look to my left to see Hermione, sitting there, grabbing her book from her bag. The boys in front of me jump in their seats as well.

“Where’d you come from?” Ron whispers, frightened slightly.

“Me? I’ve been here all this time.” Hermione answers, putting something into her vest. 

“You, boy!” Professor Trelawney gestures to Neville. “Is your grandmother quite well?”

“I...I think so…” He stutters.

“I wouldn’t be so sure of that.” She takes a few steps closer to him. “Cup. Give me the cup!”

Dean holds out Neville’s cup and she looks inside. She makes a sad tisk before putting the cup on the table and walking around again. Neville immediately grabs the cup and looks inside as Dean starts looking through the book to find what it could be inside. 

“Broaden your minds!” The Professor continues to say as I look through the book.

She stops in front of our table and gasps softly, causing the four of us to look at her. She points to Ron before continuing her talking.

“Are your veins pulsing, dear? Are you in the beyond? I think you are.” 

He swallows his spit before nodding. “Sure.”

“The cup! Look at the cup. What do you see?”

I bite my lip to stop from laughing and I glance at Hermione. She smirks at me before watching my twin brother. 

“Oh, yeah.” Ron says, looking into the cup before flipping his pages. “Well, Harry’s got some sort of wonky cross -- That’s trials and suffering. But this lot here could be the sun -- that’s happiness. So you’re going to suffer, but you’re going to be happy about it…” 

She takes the cup from my brother before gasping loudly, throwing it back to the table. I sit up more and watch her. Whispers are heard around the room, talking about Harry and probably spreading rumors. Trelawney takes a few steps toward us as she consistently opens and closes her mouth for a minute.

“My dear...You have...the Grim.” She informs us. 

Hermione pushes her lips out as if saying ‘yeah right.’ I reach out and grab the back of Harry’s robe, causing him to lean back into my touch. 

“The Grin? What’s the Grin?” Seamus calls out. 

“Not the grin, you idiot. The Grim!” A Gryffindor boy begins to read the book. “Taking the form of a giant spectral dog, it is among the darkest omens in our world. It is an omen...of death.” 

Harry glances at me before taking his cup and looking into it. I lean over him to see. Just barely swirling, but clearly visible, in the tea leaves...is a black dog…

The rest of the class is uneventful since no one else has anything wrong with their cup. She lets us go a few minutes early and we begin our path to Hagrid’s Hut since his class will be in the wooded area today. The bell starts ringing when we start walking down the hill stairs. Ron is leading us with Harry and I in the middle with Hermione in the back. 

No one says anything for a moment.

“You don’t think that Grim thing has anything to do with Sirius Black, do you?” Ron asks almost exactly what I’m thinking. 

“Oh, honestly, Ron!” Hermione speaks up. “If you ask me, Divination is a very wooly discipline! Now, Ancient Runes. That’s a fascinating subject!”

“Ancient Runes?” I ask, glancing over my shoulder. “How are you in that class? That’s at the same time as Divination.”

“Exactly! How many classes are you taking this term?” Ron asks as he walks.

“A fair few.” She answers. 

“Kelsey’s right. You’d have to be in two classes at once.” Ron says, stopping in our path.

Harry and I continue to walk down, wanting to get to Hagrid’s sooner than later.

“Don’t be silly, Ronald. How could anyone be in two classes at once.” She giggles as she runs by us on the stairs before mocking Trelawney. “Broaden your minds! Use your Inner Eye to see the future!”

She giggles, causing me to smile to myself before glancing at Harry. He fixes his bag as he stares ahead. I don’t think he’s really paying attention to the bickering duo. We make it down to Hagrid’s Hut and he’s standing on his stairs in front of his door. A bunch of students are already standing near him, waiting for class to begin.

“That’s it! C’mon on now. Come closer. Less talking if you don’t mind.” Hagrid gestures toward a few kids near the back causing some students to shush others. “I’ve got a real treat for you today! A great lesson! So follow me.”

I adjust my bag and follow behind him toward the forest with my friends. I stay close to Harry as we walk right behind Hagrid, hoping that he will talk when he’s ready. 

There's a secret about me that no one knows about. I have a tiny — well, big — crush on the Potter boy, as do probably half of the girls at Hogwarts. I've never told anybody about it. Not even my best female mate, Hermione. If Harry doesn't like me back, I don't want to place him in an uncomfortable situation.

I don't want to lose my best friend as a result of it. He'll always be a part of my life because he's friends with my twin brother, which I'm fine with. I'd rather have him as a friend than have him be nothing at all. That's all that matters to me as long as he's in my life, in some form or another. I’m pulled from my thoughts as we all walk up to a clear area in the Forbidden Forest. 

We’re far enough away from the castle to be in the forest but we’re close enough if we need help. I lift my leg to step over a small wall of rocks but a hand catches my eye. I look up to see Harry smiling slightly at me. I blush softly and take his hand, letting him help me over the wall. We follow Hagrid, never letting go of each other’s hand until our new Professor turns around.

“Right, you lot. Less chattering. Form a group over there. And open your books to page 49!” He says, before turning toward the forest. 

Everyone, including Harry and I, walk over to the area Hagrid gestured to. 

“And exactly how do we do that?” Malfoy asks, smartassly.

Hagrid looks over his shoulder. “Well, you stroke the spine of course. Goodness me.”

I roll my eyes and look down at my book as I continue to walk. I kinda wish that Hagrid had us get different monster books, but it is what it is. I unbuckle the book and softly stroke the spine before it can do any damage. I jump slightly when I hear Neville start screaming. I look over my shoulder to see the book attacking him before hearing Malfoy smart off.

I shake my head and stop with my friends beside a rock. Hermione stops and looks at us. 

“I think they’re funny.” She says, talking about the books.

“Oh, yeah. Terribly funny.” Malfoy says, hearing her. We all turn around to look at him. “Really witty. God, this place has gone to the dogs. Wait until my father hears Dumbledore’s got this oaf teaching classes.”  

Gregory Goyle, his ‘bodyguard’ as I’d like to say, starts laughing along with him. Harry pats my back to move me slightly before walking toward the blonde. 

“Shut up, Malfoy.” 

“Oooo.” Malfoy smirks at his friends before fully looking at my friend. 

He drops his bag into Vincent Crabbe’s hands before stepping up toward Harry. Malfoy glances over our heads before the smirk is wiped from his face immediately. He takes a step back before gesturing to the sky. He tries to speak but nothing comes out until he shouts. 

“Dementor! Dementor!” 

Everyone, Gryffindor and Slytherin alike, all gasp and whip their heads around to look toward the sky...but nothing’s there. Malfoy and his crew start laughing and I sigh. I turn back around and look to see Malfoy, Goyle, Pansy Parkison and another Slytherin have their hoods pulled up. They all, along with Crabbe, start waving their fingers and ‘oohing’.

I walk over and grab Harry’s arm before snickering at Draco. Pulling Harry back over to the rock, I rub his back. What they just did, joking about there being a Dementor was not funny, and completely uncalled for. It’s just not a joking matter in this situation. Harry, ever so slightly, leans into my touch as I continue to rub his back, trying to soothe him.

“Just ignore him.” I whisper to my friend who nods slightly even though we both know it’s impossible sometimes.

“You’re supposed to stroke it.” Ron laughs. 

Glancing over my shoulder, I giggle slightly as I see Neville with holes in his clothes from the book. 

“Yeah.” Neville says in a high tone. 

A small but deep cough is heard around us so everyone turns to look at Hagrid. He clears his throat slightly before gesturing to the side. Before us is one of the strangest creatures I’ve ever seen in my entire life. The...beast keeps making noises as if it was part chicken.

“Isn’t he beautiful?” He smiles before throwing a dead ferret to the beast. “Say hello to Buckbeak!” 

The beast has the torso, hind legs and tail as if it’s part horse but the front legs, wings and head are of a giant eagle! I can say it is strange, but so beautiful to look at. It’s one of those instances where you’re looking at an object, and it’s just so...confusing and mind boggling to comprehend, and yet you can’t seem to take your eyes off.

In a way, it’s like...one of Dr. Frankenstein’s creations that I’d read about in one of the muggle books that my dad, the Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office, had given me and that I’d read before coming to Hogwarts. Different creatures that you wouldn’t normally think would go together, but standing here, looking at this...animal...Buckbeak, as Hagrid calls it, it’s clear to see that in some strange, fascinatingly strange way, this mixture of a horse and an eagle go seemingly well together. 

“Hagrid. Exactly what is that?” I ask, speaking up.

“That, Kelsey, is a Hippogriff.” He smiles at me before continuing. “Firs’ thing yeh wanna know about Hippogriffs is that they’re very proud creatures. Very easily offended. You do not want to insult the Hippogriff. It may just be the last thing yeh ever do.” He pauses and smiles again before clapping. “Okay! Who wants to come an’ say hello?”

He turns around and walks over to Buckbeak. I can’t take my eyes off the majestic creature so I don’t know what’s going on behind me. Hagrid glances over at us before smiling.

“Well done, Kelsey and Harry.” 

My eyes widen as I look over my shoulder to see that everyone but Harry and I had stepped back.

“Shite.” I whisper before glancing at Harry. 

He nods and looks back at Hagrid.

“Come on, you guys.” He whispers, waving us toward him. 

Neither Harry, nor I, move from our spots so someone, I’m guessing Ron by the size of the hand, pushes us forward. I swallow the small amount of spit I had in my mouth and take a few steps toward Hagrid, grabbing onto Harry’s upper arm as we move.  

“Now, Yeh have to let ‘im make the firs’ move. It’s only polite. So, step up, give ‘im a bow and then you wait to see if he bows back. If he does, yeh can go and touch ‘im. If not...Well we’ll get to that later.” He smiles softly.

This is not the time to leave out information, Hagrid. I bite my lip as Harry reaches up and holds onto my hand as we finally stop moving forward.

“Harry first then Kelsey.” Hagrid smiles wider. “Come a little closer and bow.”

Harry glances down at me before slowly letting go of my hand. I take in a deep breath before backing up one step. Harry licks his lips and steps forward before bowing his head down. 

“Slow.” Hagrid says, looking at Buckbeak.

I’m guessing Buckbeak doesn’t like how close Harry is right now because he...clucks? And cocks his head to the side before flapping his wings.

“Back off, Harry.” Hagrid whispers. “Back off!”

Harry, while still bowing, backs up a step and accidentally steps on a branch causing everyone to gasp worriedly.    

 “Keep still.” Hagrid whispers, watching the creature. 

Harry stops moving and Buckbeak watches him for a moment. The beast makes another noise before stepping forward and bowing his head. I smile widely as Harry stands up straight. He glances back at me with a proud smile as Hagrid chuckles.

“Well done, Harry. Well done!” He throws a dead ferret to Buckbeak who immediately gobbles it down. “Your turn, Kelsey.” 

My smile falls from my face. I take in a breath as I step up next to Harry. The teen touches my hand before taking a small step to the side. I watch Buckbeak for a moment before bowing my head, letting my red curls fall into my face. Hagrid doesn’t say anything to me so I glance up to see the beast watching me. 

I gulp slightly, hoping nothing bad happens. The beast cocks his head like he did with Harry before bowing his head. 

“Wonderful!” Hagrid smiles and throws Buckbeak another ferret.

I let out the breath I didn’t realize I was holding. Smiling widely, I look over at Harry who smiles almost as wide as me.

“You guys can both go and pet him now.” Hagrid says. “Go on. Don’t be shy.” 

My head snaps over to Hagrid as my eyebrows raise. What?! Harry takes my hand and together, we slowly walk toward Buckbeak. Our giant friend continues to whisper to us as we walk. Simultaneously, Harry and I both put up our hands. My right, his left. Buckbeak flaps his wings slightly causing Hagrid to tell us to slow down. 

We slow our steps but not by much.

“Now, let him come to you.” He says but it doesn’t register into our minds. 

We continue to walk toward him. He makes a noise before putting his head down between our outstretched hands. We slowly put our hands on his beak before laughing softly. Woah…I smile as I pet his beak some more. I glance over at Harry who smiles at me before looking back at the beast.

“Well done!” Hagrid says happily as he claps. “Well done.”

Our class starts clapping for us causing us to glance at them with our smiles.

“I think he might let you guys ride him now.” Hagrid says, walking toward us.

“What?” Harry and I say in-sync.

The smiles drop from our face instantly at our new Professor's words. He might let us do what?!

R.j firefly smells half way decent. The himbo takea care of his long hair and occasionally lets baby braid it. He is the ONLY man in the firefly family to take care of his hygiene some what properly. Looks at this man

That's a man who takes care of himself.

Yeah I get it.. but tbh I feel like Baby and Mama might still smell better simply because they use perfume.

I can totally see Baby braid his hair though. She probably tried to braid otis' too but he spat on her or something.

summer films ‘18

hi there! to clarify, this is a log of films i’ve seen this summer, not exactly films set in the summer, so if you’re here for that, i’m sorry?

anyway, here we go!

1. kasal (2018) / dir. ruel s. bayani ♡ 180525 ♡ girl is engaged to the son of cebu’s current mayor who is currently preparing for elections, but her ex comes back and tries to win her back ♡ cliche, i know, but trust me, this movie deals with this plotline in a very interesting way ♡ and come on, it’s bea alonzo and paulo avelino, two icons 2. high school musical (2006) / dir. kenny ortega ♡ 180614 ♡ iconic, i love troy bolton, thanks for reminding me ♡ i know sharpay isn’t that bad but she’s still a bully lol ♡ the choreography for when there was me and you got me dying i love it ♡  fave song: stick to the status quo 3. high school musical 2 (2007) / dir. kenny ortega ♡ 180622 ♡ my least favorite in the trilogy ♡ there was so much unnecessary drama they should’ve cut troy some slack ♡ i hate chad danforth, that’s all ♡ fave song: you are the music in me 4. high school musical 3: senior year (2008) / dir. kenny ortega ♡ 180622 ♡ my favorite in the trilogy! ♡ i still hate chad tho lol but i love taylor so much she’s my favorite character! ♡ i wish they elaborated more on gabriella though, because i like to imagine an alternate ending where she declines stanford and stays in albuquerque for another year which disappoints everyone and puts a strain on her relationship with troy. that would’ve been so interesting! ♡ fave song: i love all of them, but if i had to choose, the boys are back 5. kimmy dora 2: the temple of kiyeme (2009) / dir. joyce bernal ♡ 180626 ♡ the only reason i watched this was because i had a terrible pimple on my forehead and it reminded me of some horror movie then i realized it was this so i had to look for the particular scene ♡ the movie was really bad, as expected ♡ but i absolutely love eugene domingo!! she’s so talented i really admire her as an actress

6. before sunrise (1995) / dir. richard linklater ♡ 180630 ♡ this was the day my internet ultimately stopped working (for four days, if i may add) so i thought hey why not start that movie marathon i’ve been meaning to do ♡ i was excited to watch this because it’s a known pop culture reference, and also because it’s seulgi’s favorite movie ♡ it’s unique! it’s not easy to film a story that revolves around two people who’ve just met walking around in a city neither of them knows ♡ i liked this movie but it wasn’t that spectacular or anything, i think it lacks emotion and excitement ♡ but please, do not get off a train in europe with someone you’ve just met that is dangerous 

7. before sunset (2004) / dir. richard linklater ♡ 180630 ♡  i knew nothing about this so i was actually surprised to see the same actors nine years after before sunrise’s release ♡ i like this better than the first one! céline shows the emotions i was looking for ♡ it’s much simpler and easier to follow because it really is just them walking around and talking to continue the story because of the short amount of time they have together 

8. before midnight (2013) / dir. richard linklater ♡ 180630 ♡ this movie is the reason i watched the series! it was mentioned in it’s okay, that’s love so i thought i needed to watch this, and honestly, it helped me understand the characters from iotl a bit better! ♡ it ended up being my favorite film of the three ♡ it’s more complex than the first two because it introduces more characters and is set in more locations ♡ after years of watching and reading romcoms, this made me believe in love 

9. gone girl (2014) / dir. david fincher ♡ 180701 ♡ i knew nothing about this film except that there was a girl and she was missing and the plot is unexpected? ♡ i won’t say much on this because it’s amazing when you watch it without knowing anything ♡ but it is CRAZY it hecked me up so much wow ♡ will try reading the book when i can!! 10. the grand budapest hotel (2014) / dir. wes anderson ♡ 180701 ♡ my first wes anderson film (finally) ♡ bored me at first because sadly, i can’t relate to rich european men who live in hotels and have sex with elderly women ♡ but it is so much more than that! it’s funny and deals with loyalty, the war, and crap immigrants go through ♡ yes, the cinematography is unique and beautiful, but i couldn’t appreciate it much from years of seeing wes anderson stills on my social media ♡ i went into this without knowing anything about it, but i wish i’d watched the trailer beforehand because that would’ve helped me appreciate it more 11. the fault in our stars (2014) / dir. josh boone ♡ 180702 ♡ i was bored and looking through my sister’s hard drive and i thought hey why not watch sad western teen books-turned-movies i used to glorify years ago ♡ it was alright but knowing every line, song, facial expression that would come next made it worse ♡ john green’s cameo is so awkward it’s almost funny ♡ i hope i never meet an augustus waters in my life 12. if i stay (2014) / dir. r.j. cutler ♡ 180703 ♡ part 2 of sad western teen books-turned-movies i used to glorify ♡ the story is pretty good but the film itself isn’t as good as i remembered ♡ i’m still so in love with jamie blackley after four years he’s so handsome and his voice is beautiful ♡ chloe moretz’s acting is really awkward though it’s almost painful to watch ♡ it made me want to reread the sequel where she went though! 13. she’s dating the gangster (2014) / dir. cathy garcia-molina ♡ 180705 ♡ i started this with an open mind and some expectations because although i hated on it for no reason years ago, i wanted to give it a chance ♡ but i’m sorry it really is bad ♡ kenji delos reyes is manipulative and selfish i hope i never meet a guy like him 14. grave of the fireflies (1988) / dir. isao takahata ♡ 180706 ♡ two siblings in the middle of a war ♡ watched this because a friend wanted to rabbit with me! ♡ i haven’t seen a ghibli film in a while so this was refreshing ♡ really sad though :( 15. 10 things i hate about you (1999) / dir. gil hunger ♡ 180706 ♡ guy is paid to date girl lol ♡ julia stiles is so beautiful :( i love her ♡ pretty funny actually! ♡ also watched this because friends wanted to rabbit with me :> 16. i’m drunk, i love you (2017) / dir. jp habac ♡ 180707 ♡ i finally, finally watched this ♡ not gonna lie it disappointed me? so many people loved it but for me it was eh ♡ paulo avelino’s character was pretty lacking for me, i wish they’d elaborated more on him ♡ but i liked the group dynamic because they’re not the wholesome, fake happy kind of friends, seeing them interact made me feel like they’re people i really know in real life (which made me miss my own friends) ♡ even jasmine’s character felt real because she’s probably someone i’d know HAHA ♡ fun fact: i’ve listened to the song lloydy long before watching this because i mean? ♡ I LOVED THIS FILM SO. MUCH. ♡ kathniel matured a lot in two years and i think they were perfect for this!! they really showed certain struggles of young adults and did not disappoint ♡ it also shows filipino values for family, utang ng loob, ofw struggles, etc ♡ and of course the cinematography is beautiful HUHU i mean it’s barcelona!! 21. my annoying brother (2016) / dir. kwon soo-kyung ♡ 180721 ♡ honestly took me a bit to get into it  ♡ i expected it to be funny and although it did make me laugh a lot why were there tears :((( ♡ kyungsoo is so, so, so talented i admire him so much as an actor now ♡ really hits you in the feels! a really beautiful story about two brothers 22. so i married an anti-fan (2016) / dir. kim jae-young ♡ 180724 ♡ meh ♡ it took some getting used to seeing chanyeol being all snobbish and cool instead of his usual loud happy self ♡ of course it’s overdramatic for the comedy, but the hate-turned-love isn’t even that good lol it’s just unreasonable but whatever ♡ the lead girl reminds me of arci munoz HAHA 23. wonder (2017) / dir. stephen chbosky ♡ 180725 ♡ we watched this during my summer program and i was actually pretty excited because i remember loving the book! ♡ this honestly teaches you a lot not even just from the perspective of children but also as teenagers, parents, friends, etc ♡ i thoroughly enjoyed it!

Last movie I watched: Armageddon. It is one of my favorites, and it is appropriate for the spawn to watch over my shoulder. If you mean in theaters, it was George Takei’s Allegiance, and if that doesn’t count, uhh... World of Warcraft for my birthday last year.

Last song I listened to: The Devil’s Backbone by the Civil Wars

Last book I read: Uhhh... I think it was Mail Order Maternity by Kirsten Osbourne, or one of the Cape High books by R.J. Ross.

Last thing I ate: Spaghetti and meatballs. Considering going back for seconds.

Fictional Character I would hang out with for a day: Uhhh... This one is actually hard? Because I like so many fictional characters and want to just hang out with them? Maybe Menolly from the Dragonriders of Pern books. We would sit and cuddle with fire lizards and make music and it would be nice.

If I could be anywhere right now, where would I be?: Honestly, Pern. They have numbweed and fellis juice for my spine.

Current fandom obsession: Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, Avatar the Last Airbender, Mass Effect, Rise of the Guardians, Lord of the Rings, Fallout, Firefly/Serenity, Labyrinth... But some of those have been fandom obsessions for years, soooo...
