So I really liked this one. In fact the I enjoyed the whole of the Enemy Lines duology. This one is centered on Wedge Antilles and the aftermath of the fall of Coruscant. It has a lot of military strategy stuff, which I found interesting since we get a lot of Jedi and "rouge" agents type stuff but less so on the coordinated military response stuff. So this book is about Wedge regrouping and refocusing on kicking Yuuzhan Vong ass. There's also lots of Jaina stuff too as she gets back into the military swing of things after Myrkr and Hapes. It's almost about her depression, her belief that she'll eventually die during the war. She's still up and fighting though so it's kind of a duality. Another thing I liked about this was the dawning realization that the New Republic is basically dead, but the need to continue the fight still is pressing. It's like the old Rebel Alliance team is getting back together to encourage and grow insurgencies against the Yuuzhan Vong. And to coordinate military action despite the lack (or just despite) of civilian government. It's a pretty bad sign that things have gone poorly to say the least.

Anyways Wedge does kick some serious ass and it's really awesome.

mordred, desperate for his hero’s approval bc no matter what he’s done emrys just stares at him with distrust and the poor boy is tired and so close to tears: no…i have magic.

percival, raised by druids and bonded strongly with mordred over that and does Not agree with the persecution of magic in camelot, had an inkling that merlin had magic but no proof: no. i have magic.

*leon and elyan exchange a look, elyan, amused and leon, exhausted, elyan shrugs*

elyan, knows how much gwen adores merlin and completely understands her stance bc merlin…is merlin, down to clown and put on a show, really playing up the dramatics: no! i have magic.

leon, exhausted, has known of merlin’s magic since he stepped foot in camelot, knows of his feelings for arthur and arthur’s feelings for him, knows arthur knows of merlin’s magic and wouldn’t harm him, thinks everyone is being absolutely ridiculous:

*the knights stare hard at leon and even merlin looks slightly offended at leon not jumping to his defense with the rest of the knights, arthur hasn’t said anything and is staring at leon expectantly*

leon, sighing: …no. i have magic.

Eleventh Fleet AU - Admiral Karyn Faro

This was supposed to be an art post in honor of the anniversary of the release of the Thrawn Trilogy from Legends, but I'm only on the second book, so my opinion on the story has not yet been fully formed.

It was still the May weekend and after such a good cold I wanted a banal, basic rest.

However, I discovered such a thing as photobashes in concept art… And I decided to make a “sketch” for screenshots from the game. It turned out to be a very strange experiment, but the experience was really interesting…

Disclaimer: such a game does not exist… It is unlikely that it will exist.

i truly think the false dichotomy of viewing sam as perpetually powerless and dean as perpetually powerful goes all the way back to an inability to understand what the show always made obvious: they were both victims of their upbringing and they were both deprived of normalcy and safety. dean even more so than sam. first because of the fire, then because he wasn't sheltered from the truth and was already being taken on his first shooting lessons in the first grade.

dean wasn't consciously choosing to become a child soldier and a substitute parent, he was a scared traumatized kid grabbing onto anything that could make him feel prepared and in control in a world that didn't make sense anymore. "there's just chaos and violence and random unpredictable evil that comes out of nowhere and rips you to shreds".

drink 2 liters of water :3 stay hydrated, pookie.

mindful eating:

focus on whole, yummy (healthy, if that's what you want) foods, but no stressing over it! it’s not about restricting (*≧ω≦) it's okay to treat yourself~ be mindful of what you eat, but don’t obsess <3 we're not falling back into unhealthy eating habits! if this is too hard for u if you have a history of obsessing over diets, literally skip this part and just eat normally.

skincare routine:

morning and night: cleanse, moisturize, and don’t forget your sunscreen in the morning (✿◠‿◠)

active hobby:

dedicate 30 minutes to a hobby that brings you joy (writing, djing, playing with your cats) (^o^) no passive stuff like scrolling social media !! (i mean you can doomscroll but not during your allocated 30 minute hobby time!!)

mindfulness/gratitude:

spend 5-10 minutes meditating, journaling, or reflecting on things you're grateful for (✿´‿`) orrrr if ur like me just write down random thoughts in a notebook, it doesn't have to be so serious!!

progress photo:

take a cute daily pic to track your progress. it's about celebrating little changes, not perfection!

limit screen time before bed:

reduce screen use 30 minutes before sleeping to get that good beauty sleep (✿◠‿◠) maybe read book instead or tire out ur pets so they sleep through the night (and let you sleep through the night too)

track record for reflection:

log days when you couldn’t finish all tasks, but use it as a time to reflect! no guilt~ remind yourself: "tomorrow is a new day!" (•‿•)/ this is for preventing fear of failure ending up in giving up altogether. it's a marathon, not a sprint!!
