“Hi, everyone, I��m James Rhodes, I used to be Tony Stark’s best friend until apparently, he said in his vows that he’s marrying his best friend and yet, I don’t see a ring on my finger,” Rhodey says as he starts his best man speech.

Tony chuckles beside Peter, the kid, his husband looking beautiful in an all white three piece suit that was custom-made for him, on top of his curls was a pretty veil. He sighs, god, he finally married his dream boy.

“Anyway, we met— what? Ten years ago? He was a fifteen year old Freshman midget while I was a regular not-so super genius eighteen year old Freshman as well.” His best friend says with an informative tone.

“Oh boy, I think I know where this is going,” Tony mutters, pressing his nose against Peter’s shoulder.

Peter giggles, “is it an embarrassing story, love?” His husband asks softly, doe-like eyes glistening with mirth, “do I know this story?”

He lets out a chuckle, “no love, I don’t think Rhodey has ever told this story to the gang,” Tony says, tightening his hold on Peter’s shoulders.

“Anyway, he told me— a fifteen year old, ‘heads up, platypus! I’ll be bringing some girls and some boys to our dorm and if that scares you then it’s not my fault!’ I repeat, ladies and gentlemen, and everyone in between, Tones was fifteen!”

The crowd laughs softly at the indignance in Rhodey’s tone.

“Rhodes, any time now! We’re gettin’ old!” Bucky, Peter’s best friend yells from the table where their gang sat.

Tony rolls his eyes, “his speech was twenty minutes, 18 minutes were my mistakes and insults towards me, why is he your best friend again?” He whispers to Peter.

The boy grunts, “because he insults you, Mr. Stark, so— how many boys and girls did you bring home to the dorm huh?” Peter asks him, a meticulously groomed brow raised.

He was about to make an excuse when Rhodey’s voice interrupts them, “shout out to our friend group by the way, we call ourselves the Avengers, we all went to MIT because we’re all badass and we all actually witnessed the start of Tony and Peter’s relationship.”

“They were obsessed!” Sam comments with a grin.

“Still are,” Steves corrects Sam.

Rhodey snaps his fingers, “that is correct my friends, they are obsessed with each other, which brings me to my second part of the story!”

“Oh come on!” Bucky complains.

“After hearing that from a smug fifteen year old, of course I just had to see it with my own eyes right? So I waited! Bro, the boy didn’t bring home a boy until we were in third year! And guess what? He fucking married the boy!”

The crowd erupted into cheers and laughter, realizing that the only boy he brought home to the dorm was Peter.

“Oh,” Peter murmurs.

Tony smirks, “remember that honey? September seventeen two thousand eighteen, MIT dorms after the Freshman Welcoming Party.”

“I was—”

“You were the only boy I brought to the dorm, love, no one else.” Tony whispers softly, pressing a kiss on the younger man’s forehead.

“Anyway, cheers to Tony and Peter, may they learn to lock doors whenever they fuck!” Rhodey cheers as the rest of their friend group howls in laughter.

Peter sighs, “we need a new set of friends, love.”

“Yeah, normal ones,” Tony adds.

And of course, I'm a huge fan of Hamilton playing a major role in this fic. I love this one so much, so I hope you give it a shot (and don't throw it away, badum tz).

Paper Crowns and Secret Keepers

Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 5,564 Tags: No Powers, A/B/O, Teacher Steve

Summary: Steve Rogers did not play favorites. He’d been one of the kindergarten teachers at Allensville Academy since he got out of graduate school and that was one of his key pedagogical beliefs - no playing favorites. But lands alive, if Peter Stark wasn’t testing his resolve.

Reasons why I love it: Aaaaaah not Flame subverting expectations in the best possible way, I am LIVING! Tony the not-alpha just breaks your heart once you learn about the circumstances that made his secrets necessary, and I love the political undertones throughout the fic in general. Also, Mairi (Askafroa) made some truly fantastic art for this that you desperately need to see if you haven't already, it's the cutest! This fic is amazing, and I hope you check it out for yourself!

A Totally Normal Dad

Summary: Steve is a totally normal, boring, suburban, stay-at-home-dad. He's also a superhero. His husband only knows the first sentence.

Reasons why I love it: The Incredibles, but make it Stony. I really love how this ties into canon, and oh my god, that paragraph about Steve wanting to grow old with Tony made me genuinely emotional. Also, Steve and Tony are so sweet with Peter, it makes me want to cry. This fic is amazing, and I highly encourage you to read it!

Summary: Sure, a man could fall in love with a merman - but where would they make out?

Reasons why I love it: They're so fucking cute, ugh, I love them. Tony doing his level best to make life more comfortable for Steve is so sweet, and oh my god, the ending puts the biggest smile on my face. I also love the way Steve's merman-ism works and the cameos of the other Avengers in texting-form. This fic is delightful, and I hope you give it a go!

Avengers Gender & Sexuality Headcanons, but cleaned up a bit

hello hello! I revisited my old post, and it was messy af and I don't really headcanon a lot of these anymore. SO I PRESENT TO YOU:

The Avengers Being Gay As Fuck

STEEB ROGER ROGER || CAPTAIN AMERICA - ohhhhh boy... - bro is kinda not up to speed with how ✨🏳‍🌈 the gays 🏳‍🌈✨ are treated nowadays - so peter decides to teach him - and at first, he's kinda confused, esp about trans people - because hello, he was born in the fourties - it's kinda non-realistic to expect him to snap to reality just like that - anyhoo, peter ain't having the "how tf do trans people work" bullshit - he, like any good gen z kid would do, creates a shitty powerpoint presentation - after two full fucking hours of explanation, steve starts to get it - he still slips up sometimes... - but he tries his fucking best and honestly that's all we can ask of him - i don't really see steve labeling himself, but if you asked, he'd probably just steer the conversation away from that topic - would still use he/him - fuck that was long

TONY STARK || TIN CAN IRON MAN - bro has fucked and been fucked, taken and given head - by both men and women - cmon. there's no way that this billionaire playboy isn't fruity - pansexual, doesn't care about the gender of the person he loves - he's either in a poly relationship with pepper and rhodey or enemies-to-lovers with a certain stephen strange - he/him - funds the annual manhattan pride - qpr with rhodey

Secret Invasion questions

Going into the finale, I still have a lot of questions about Secret Invasion. Foremost amongst them is, "why is this a show? Did you feel you had to make this just because there was a comic run called Secret Invasion?"

How long has Rhodey been a Skrull and when did it happen? I need an exact date and location of his human body, pls.

Was Varra "working with" Gravik? Because there was a lot of build up to her getting that gun and we were supposed to be surprised Nick's wife was a Skrull. But we never saw her do anything with Gravik besides introduce him to Nick as child. She didn't kill Nick which was the one order she was given.

Still don't know how Skrull!Ross tricked Maria Hill (if indeed that was Maria Hill, still hoping for an LMD).

Why were Nick Fury and Carol Danvers unable to find the Skrulls a home world? (BTW if the Skrulls are immune to radiation and "like the cold" could they survive on a planet in our solar system that is not habitable to humans? Or could they go live in regions of Earth that humans can't survive in? IDK if they like the cold I think think they should just ask some nice Canadians for a place to stay instead of starting a war.)

Why was Nick pretending to be a bad spy for a couple episodes if he didn't have any real arc to coming back to his Eyepatch and Trenchcoat? Was this all just a ruse to get Gravik to be cocky and self assured? Because it seems like he already was.

If Gravik is so dumb now why did they spend the entire first episode convincing us he was smart? (Why did Maria have to die?)

Talos said there are a million Skrulls but we have seen a couple dozen. Are there like Skrull families off living their best life who have nothing to do with this? Or are there other factions? I don't get it.

Why DO the Skrulls "like the cold" if they are reptiles? Don't reptiles often freeze in cold weather? I have no idea what Skrull biology is. It makes no sense.

Talos hated Gravik's plan from the jump. As did one woman on the Skrull council. G'iah, Beto, and even Pagon have all decided its a crap plan now after initially being on board. Varra disobeys his orders. Who actually is on Gravik's side besides Raava/Rhodes and the UK Prime Minister?

Russian intelligence. I know Russian intelligence might not work US or British groups. But they must know there are Skrulls in Russia. It's not my impression of that country that they are lacks with security. Can Putin (or whoever in President of Russia in the MCU) just call Ritson and be like, "Hey, bro I hate America and think you suck but that attack wasn't us, let's all just relax." Gravik is acting like this is the Cuban Missile Crisis when everyone was just waiting to nuke each other.

Is Monica on SABER? Can I see her? Did her and G'iah ever hang out? Can we move on yet?

Does Sonya know Blade? Because she should totally be in charge of the Midnight Suns or something.

Blood Brothers AU - Scott Discovers Iron Man

((Are you ready for this? Because I hurt myself writing this. The thing about this being Scott's blog is sometimes we're totally on the same page on things and he gives me the okay to do it. Then there are times where I have an idea of how something would go, and he shakes his head and goes "Nuh uh, that's not how this would go down." This was one of those times.)) @stxrksarc

Scott Stark’s mind was still reeling from the events of such a short time ago. He really couldn’t tell you how much time had passed since he saw on the news Tony’s executive decision to shut down the weapons manufacturing division of SI.

Tony was back. Tony was turning things around. Tony looked haunted. Tony looked wounded in a way Scott didn’t - yet - understand. Tony made it home.

Tony…had yet to reach out.

It took Scott an hour of processing the newsreel footage for the hope that his big brother would come visit him to dawn on him. Another ray of light in a darkness that felt like too much for even Scott’s brand of optimism to fight through.

But days had passed with nothing to show for it. No letters, no calls, no visitors except for a divorce lawyer. Nothing. The only real ray of light he had to hold onto was Cassie’s letters and drawings he received so far and a promise written in crayon that she would come visit him.

Remember that Tony did try more than once to visit and he sent multiple letters, but a horrible CO made sure none of that got to Scott.

Scott worried that his incarceration made Tony decide breaking ties was probably for the best. Couldn’t have an inmate tied with SI, right? Especially if Tony’s hoping to turn the company around and make it clean. But the lack of contact made Scott physically ache. Cassie, Tony, and Rhodey were all he had left.

He’s trying not to be bitter about it, but it’s really hard to do. All that worrying and panicking and the nightmares and the fear over Tony without so much as a postcard from him.

The first time Scott saw anything about Iron Man, it was the newsreel of Gulmira where he took on the Ten Rings. Scott and many other inmates watched the community TV in awe as the red and gold plated figure took out the bad guys with precision and rescued the village. There was some cheering among the inmates over how cool and badass that was, and Scott had to agree.

But the tech was what he focused on. Man, would he love to get his hands on that tech. Just to see how it all worked because to Scott’s engineering eye, it looked amazing. Beautiful even.

“Hey, Stark,” one of the inmates called out as he gestured to the TV with a nod, “how much is that suit worth ya think?”

Scott laughed and shook his head. “You don’t wanna know, man. You don’t wanna know.”

The intro to the Iron Man was a nice reprieve because it gave Scott something fascinating to focus on, wondering how it worked and what it comprised of and the tech behind it.

He overheard a couple of inmates discussing it who the brain behind the armor was one day during a meal. “You think it’s government shit?”

“Hell no, bro, the government wouldn’t paint it up like a damn corvette if it was. It’d be camo or patriotic or whatever. It’s gotta be a private asset.”

“Yeah? Like whose? Who’d have enough dough for that shit?”

“Stark Industries does.”

“Yeah, but I watched the news with the Stark dude. He looked as surprised as the rest of us. Can’t be theirs. I bet it’s Hammer Industries.”

That was the first and only time to date Scott had actually done a spit take and almost choked to death, and the inmate sitting across from him almost fought him over it.

A day or two later, Peachy and some other guys hurried to find Scott. Apparently, there was another story on the news about Iron Man and how he and an even bigger, uglier Iron Man fought at Stark Industries. The four guys who found him were talking over each other as fast as Scott had heard anybody talk this was before Luis arrived by the way, but they all insisted Scott needed to see this.

The only feed the news could show was from security cameras that SI released for the news to use, which didn’t show all that much. The fact that more was left to the imagination than not only added fuel to the chatter in the break room where everyone was talking about it.

They made sure Scott got a front row seat to watch because apparently Tony was about to give a press conference over the whole deal.

Scott heard bits and pieces about it all from everyone around him. How this armored dude was Tony’s new bodyguard after being kidnapped in a warzone Scott didn't believe that, how there was a coup from inside SI to overthrow the Starks which did not surprise Scott at all. The fact Stane was finally exposed as the snake he was just really made Scott feel validated. How it was also rumored that Rhodes was the real man behind the armor please dear God let it not be Rhodey, Scott thought. That was a lot to worry about.

There was some mumbling through the crowd of reporters as cameras flashed and clicked obnoxiously while Tony approached the podium. “Thank you. Been a while since I was in front of you. I figure I'll,” he waved some note cards and smirked, “stick to the cards this time.”

That earned some laughs and more murmurs before Tony started reading, “There's been speculation that I was involved in the events that occurred on the freeway and the rooftop…” There was? Scott hadn’t heard anybody saying that stuff.

Christine Everhart, Scott gagged when he heard her voice, said, “I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, but do you honestly expect us to believe that was a bodyguard in a suit that conveniently appeared, despite the fact that you--”

Tony interrupted her, “I know that it's confusing. It is one thing to question the official story, and another thing entirely to make wild accusations, or insinuate that I'm a superhero.” Scott raised an eyebrow at that.

Everhart interrupted him in turn, “I never said you were a superhero.”

“Didn't? Well, good, because that would be outlandish and…fantastic.” That made both of Scott’s eyebrows go skyhigh. “I'm just not the hero type. Clearly. With this laundry list of character defects, all the mistakes I've made, largely public…”

Rhodey mumbled something in Tony’s ear, and Tony nodded in agreement. “Yeah, okay. Yeah. The truth is…”

Tony held the notecard in front of him and just stared at it. And Scott knew. He knew. He’d seen that look before, and he knew what it meant. And a part of him was surprised to find himself whispering under his breath, “Please don’t say it please don’t say it please don’t say it.”

“I am Iron Man.”

Both the news crew and all the inmates watching erupted into a cacophony of opinions and questions and exclamations.

All except one.

Scott Stark stared at his big brother’s image on the screen feeling…conflicted. Very conflicted. He wished he could say he felt proud of Tony in that moment, and if anybody asked him, he would say he felt proud then.

Don’t get him wrong. Scott is proud. He’s so very proud of his big brother and all he’s done and accomplished on a personal and professional level. He really couldn’t ask for a better big brother.

But in that moment? Two major emotions warred inside him.

The first was worry. It was Tony who was in that village fighting the Ten Rings. It was Tony getting shot at. It was Tony who put himself in danger to take care of innocent people. Tony climbed out of one warzone to throw himself into another.

And the second emotion? If Scott’s being 100% honest with himself, it was jealousy. Old, familiar jealousy that raised its ugly head for the first time in a long time, and to this day it shames him to recall how jealous he felt.

There were cruel, hateful people in his life who made being the second Stark son a crime, a shame, and he wasn’t worth much of a second glance if one at all, and jealousy was a struggle all his life.

He thought he overcame that a long time ago. He thought he was past all of that nonsense.

But now? He felt like the criminal Stark, the worthless second son who had no chance at all to stand out of the shadow of an armored superhero.

WIP Update - 26 Jul 2023

Another pretty darned productive writing week! I touched 7fics (6 WIPs & 1 new work) for a total of 3233 words - I also posted my 450th work to Ao3 - woo hoo!

On Ao3, I posted:

Chapter 3 of Technicalities - Stucky No Powers University AU with Professor!Steve and Student!Bucky (tho not Steve's student) -- after a bit of mutual pining and UST, they discover in this chapter they're both on the same page.

I have 18 semi-active WIPs 😬 with my current deadlines being the July Break Bingo, which ends 31 Jul and the Tony Stark This or That and Hot Bucky Summer events, which both wrap at the end of August.

Seek & Destroy Collab

After reading @psychiccatpanda‘s amazing Morguna and the Green Queen, I got the itch to explore the Soldier’s POV and talked Faustie into collab’ing with me! We’re working on a new part of the series, and I’ve contributed about 900 words towards the 2500-ish we have so far. Going to see if I can squeeze any of my BBB squares into this fic.

July Break Bingo [JBB_23] (Ends 31 Jul)

Signed up for a 3x3 card for this all fandoms, no minimums bingo event (@julybreakbingo ) because of course I need more prompts! 😁😬 I’m aiming for a blackout with five fills and four WIPs.. I’m playing a bit fast and loose with a few prompts, but I hope y’all enjoy anyways!

* A1 - “I can keep going” -filled this with Chapter 3 of Technicalities (Stucky professor/student AU) which posted this morning as a crossover with my ACB Mutual Pining and SVB Experiment squares. – A bit of manual labor brings Professor!Steve and Student(but not Steve’s student)! Bucky closer together. It came in at 1297 words.

* A2 - “I think I’m losing my mind.” Filled this with What Happens in San Francisco… in combination with the Flash Fiction Friday prompt [#FFF208 Reporting the Scoop] and a SVB adoptable: Celebration Sex. It will eventually get posted to Ao3.

* A3 - Word: Advantage or Antonyms – Filled this with Chapter 3 of A Sugar-Coated Pill (WinterIron Omegaverse Sugar Daddy AU) which posted on Friday and came in at 1341 words. It’s crossing over with my HBS “How Did You Meet?” + High Stakes Op and TSTOT Omegaverse prompts, along with my WIB AU: A/B/O square. Bucky and Tony continue to make a good team, then sugar baby!Tony asks Bucky for a favor.

* B1 - Location: Train Tracks - combining this with my BBB Never the Fall that Kills You square for an angsty Winter Soldier fic - it’s drafted at 271 words and will post 7/29 or 7/30.

* B2 - FREE – May combine with this week’s Flash Fiction Friday.

* B3 - Pining/Longing/Being Needy - filling this with Chapter 4 of A Sugar-Coated Pill where Bucky has a bit of a problem, and Tony offers to help. It’s crossing over with HBS Week Nine (”Where do you want me?” + In My Lap), and ACB Mate-Induced Heat - the chapter is coming in at 1395 words and will post on 7/28.

* C1 - Location: Art Studio - Filled this with Teacher, Teacher, Can You Reach Me? I combined this with my SAUB AU: Teacher and TSB Dares/Bets squares and TSTOT Best Friend prompt for a Tony & Rhodey bro-fic that is also a SteveTony meet cute. It came in at 1604 words.

* C2 - Moving In/New Home - filled with Starting Something New,

* C3 - Mutual Pining – started my Centerfold Stucky fic - When This Issue’s Gone is sitting at a very rough 509 words of backstory. Am not sure this will be ready in time, so Plan B - combine with Technicalities - Chapter 3.

Hot Bucky Summer [BBE_HBS] (Ends Aug 30)

Another @buckybarnesevents event, this time with weekly smexy prompts. My goal is to complete at least two fics/chapters per month for this challenge and have actually filled/will fill three of the 4 weeks for June and July so far.

Week Eight - “How did you meet?” + High Stakes Op - filled with Chapter 3 of A Sugar-Coated Pill - see JBB Word: Advantage or Antonyms above

Week Nine: FREE – cheating a bit and going back to the Week Three prompts.: (“Where do you want me?” + in my lap) - see JBB Pining/Longing/Being Needy above

Week Eleven - “Give me a color”+ Green/Red/Yellow – This works well with the upcoming Chapter Three of Finding Something Fresh - Beta!Sub!Bucky and omega!Dom!Steve work on pre-scene negotiations. It will cross over with SVB Comforting Insecurity - it’s sitting at 254 words at the moment and will post either 8/11 or 8/16.

Week Twelve - “Who’s My ___”+ Good Boy - probably will fit with the future Chapter Four of Finding Something Fresh - crossing over with SVB Tied to A Bed. This chapter would post either 8/18 or 8/23

Week Thirteen - FREE WEEK - “Bossy” and “Bondage” are two suggested prompts - I can probably do something with either/both of these for Technicalities or A Sugar Coated Pill . 😁

Tony Stark This or That [TSTOT_23] (Ends 31 Aug)

Excited to see this event (hosted by @tstot ) come back! When you sign up, you get a card with 10 prompts in pairs - so to complete the card, you create five fanworks. I have two prompts posted and one idea so far.
