That drama about Hughie hitting on Armie's fans sounds like nonsense. How did Laurie 'confirm' this 'fact'? Does she show any of his messages? If they exist, are they real or fake? I would take this info with a huge grain of salt, as it sounds like this Laurie person is simply trying to cause a rift between Armie and his friend. Remember, these are the same ppl who have spread really ugly vicious rumors about Armie before. Hughie saying that A&T are not talking is designed to upset the fans, no?

I refuse to propagate unsubstantiated allegations about someone like they’re facts knowing that they’ve not been proven to be true. Making unverified claims on social media does not make it true. I could swear we all learned that lesson already, but perhaps I am wrong.

Well, Snopes still exists and I encourage you to check it out. They will investigate until they find the primary source of a photo, a quote, an article. This is especially important in a world where AI is increasingly able to fool the human eye and human ear.

o ya 100% i think Jeremy and Jean are the best fit for each other. they’ve got chemistry, they’ve got shared goals, just symbolically i think they’re good for each other, and i love the dynamic it adds to each of their characters ie Jean liking people who are optimistic/bright and sunny (Renee, Jeremy) and Jean being able to read Jeremy really well/be attuned to whatever he’s repressing lol (I’m just assuming that’s where their dynamic is headed since Jean already has been so perceptive about Jeremy’s feelings)

for Kevin and Jean, i think that Kevin definitely doesn’t feel the same way that Jean did (i think Jean’s kind of moved on a bit), but even if Kevin did like Jean back i don’t think it would be the healthiest option for either of them. personally i just absolutely love the dynamic of Kevin and Jean’s current relationship, how it seems imbalanced with Jean liking Kevin and only having Kevin to rely on, but Kevin not quite as invested (but obv still caring for Jean)

and Jean and Renee just don’t see each other enough, i think it’s been set up narratively that they’re just friends now

Perspectives on a debate

I see a lot of people still steeped in the debate about GQ.

There are a lot of claims being spread around about GQ, including:

They are huge GG antis

They posted hateful slander about GG

They were one of the primary agents of 227 and GG's cancellation

They boycotted GG

They keep bringing up 227 to hurt GG

Here are the primary pieces of 'evidence' of these claims:

Two articles published by GQ, one in 2020 shortly after 227, and one a year later. Both consist of interviews with a media/culture scholar who specializes in danmei and fan culture, discussing the phenomenon of 227 and some other related sociocultural topics.

I urge every fan to read these articles and draw your own conclusions about whether they constitute 'anti-GG slander'.

My thoughts

These articles are overall pretty rational, intellectual and inquisitive. The conversation primarily revolves around fandom and fan culture, and GG isn't even the central focus. Particularly the second article, which only mentions him briefly at the beginning.

Instead, the articles cover a broad range of entertainment business and cultural topics, and ponder the factors that played into 227.

They are not critical of GG, so much as they are critical of his fans, which is why his fans are so angry about the articles. It's not 'slander against GG', it's a critique of fandom and fan behavior.

I suspect this is why XFX have been so vocal about spreading the rumor of a GQ vendetta against GG. Because saying, "GQ has been critiquing XFX" wouldn't garner nearly as much sympathy or outrage.

Most people don't actually bother digging into or examining these claims. Instead, they take it all at face value and assume the claims to have at least some merit, and buy into the narrative that GQ is out to get GG. They in turn spread the word about GQ's supposed vendetta against GG, thereby doing free XFX legwork.

The reality is that 227 was a very big deal at the time. A massive cultural phenomenon. Of course those interested in culture would reasonably want to discuss and examine it. It's been discussed all over the world, not just in China.

It's not unreasonable for a magazine to do this type of examination. We can agree or disagree with some of the opinions presented in the article, but they're not anything unusual for that region of the world. However, in my view, characterizing them as anti-GG slander is just a bridge too far.

i've been awake thinking abt this prompt for DAYS but bear with me:

alfie woke up at night from that fucking wailing. he needed to teach those goddamn kids a lesson sometimes. but oh-oh, it's not a kid. it's a malnourished, brutally-beaten, heavily-pregnant omega at his doorstep, whimpering as blood and water gushed out from between his legs. whose omega is this? but the scream was getting louder, so alfie had no choice but to take him inside. to his surprise, he was able to help him give birth to a healthy beautiful baby boy (chaotically, ofc). alfie didn't even know the omega's name yet, but his carnal instinct to protect these two boys activated instantly.

they talked in the morning. alfie learned that the omega, tommy, was kicked out of the house by his abusive sewer rat of a husband (and ofc he took a mental note to find the guy and kill him on the spot). alfie then offered to shelter tommy and charlie, the newborn, for three months. tommy gratefully accepted it, and they grew very close along the way. alfie could deny it as much as he wanted, but he definitely felt a pleasant spark whenever he looked into those oceanic, electric blue eyes. or when he caught a glimpse of tommy's extremely thick, butterfly lashes. or those lips. alfie felt sinful, but if this was what's gonna put him in hell, then he'd gratefully peel his clothes and bathe in the fire.

but first, drama; the local omega shelter found out that tommy was not alfie's mate nor his legally-acknowledged spouse. nor was charlie his biological child. so, the shelter decided that it's gonna be best for tommy and charlie to spend the night at their place. it hurt alfie to let them go. tommy was crying harder than charlie ever did when they picked him up, begging them to let him stay with alfie. alfie was the one who saved him, who cared for him. alfie brought him close, kissed his forehead and whispered, "It's going to be okay, Tommy. I'll come get you two. Just wait for me. I love you."

and when tommy's mouth met his own, soft and wet and oh-so-fucking-sweet, whispering, "I love you, Alfie. Come back. Come back to me," Alfie knew his whole life was going to be dedicated to bringing their family back together. whatever it takes.
