There’s a container of salmon in the fridge, it was cooked at least 2 weeks ago.
I asked my aunty if I could throw it away, surely it’s bad by now.
She said no, it should still be good because it wasn’t cooked in anything and is just plain.
Aunty… that is not how this works. Is it not the salmon that is going to make you sick, not whatever butter or marinade you cook it in? Am I losing my mind?? I’m right, right?

actually yknow what, no. this is not being limited to discord, yall get it too.
some general cooking tips (in which there is a brief senshi posession):
moisture is the enemy of crispy skin. pat dry with paper towel, and if you have the time and spoons, give a thorough but even coat of baking powder and let sit uncovered in your fridge overnight. this will dry out the skin nicely. for pork belly, create a tight foil boat so that only the skin is showing, and cover in salt to draw out moisture, repeating a couple times if necessary.
furikake seasoning, for the fellow rice lovers, is just nori (seaweed), sesame seeds, sugar, and msg/salt. you might have most if not all of these things already in your kitchen.
chai spice mix is just cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, & allspice.
pumpkin spice is just cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
to cure your own bacon, you only need water, white and brown sugar, and a non-iodized salt - himalayan pink salt is not iodized, if you cannot find butchers curing pink salt. from there, you can add any seasoning/flavoring you want.
the truly adventurous may cook their rice in green tea for a fresh clean taste.
you can tell if a fish is truly fresh by their eyes - clear and bright is fresh, while cloudy is older or potentially has been frozen.
it's cheaper to buy a large block pack of ramen from your local asian market and repackage the bricks into sandwich bags, than to buy a box of individually packaged ones such as maruchan or top ramen.
when buying meat, look at it's fat content - more fat marbling usually means more tender + flavorful.
you can save onion skins and other vegetable scraps to make your own broth with. you can also save bones for this. mix and match ratios to create your ideal flavor.
bay leaf will always make a soup or broth taste better, but Watch Out (they are not fun to bite into on accident).
msg is, in fact, not The Devil, that was just a racist hate campaign against the chinese and other oriental races. it's literally just a type of salt. it is no more dangerous to eat than any other type of salt.
washing your rice is important because it not only improves flavor and texture by removing excess starch, but it also helps reduce any residual pesticides or dirt, or even insect fragments (please remember that rice paddies are essentially giant ponds that all kind of things live in and swim around. you should also be washing all your produce in general.)
please salt your cooking water for pastas, it just tastes better and you will be happier for it.
boiled potatoes are also improved by salt water.
if you hate vegetables, please consider trying them fried in butter or perhaps bacon grease. it is healthier to eat them fatty than not at all.
healthy food does not in fact have to taste miserable. thats a lie. they are lying to you. free yourself from your blandness shackles. enter a world of flavor.

[ID: A bowl of avocado spread sculpted into a pattern, topped with olive oil and garnished with symmetrical lines of nigella seeds and piles of pomegranate seeds; a pile of pita bread is in the background. End ID]
متبل الأفوكادو / Mutabbal al-'afukadu (Palestinian avocado dip)
Avocados are not native to Palestine. Israeli settlers planted them in Gaza in the 1980s, before being evicted when Israel evacuated all its settlements in Gaza in 2005. The avocados, however, remained, and Gazans continued to cultivate them for their fall and winter harvest. Avocados have been folded into the repertoire of a "new" Palestinian cuisine, as Gazans and other Palestinians have found ways to interpret them.
Palestinians may add local ingredients to dishes traditionally featuring avocado (such as Palestinian guacamole, "جواكامولي فلسطيني" or "غواكامولي فلسطيني"), or use avocado in Palestinian dishes that typically use other vegetables (pickling them, for example, or adding them to salads alongside tomato and cucumber).
Another dish in this latter category is حمص الافوكادو (hummus al-'afukadu)—avocado hummus—in which avocado is smoothly blended with lemon juice, white tahina (طحينة البيضاء, tahina al-bayda'), salt, and olive oil. Yet another is متبّل الأفوكادو (mutabbal al-'afukadu). Mutabbal is a spiced version of بابا غنوج (baba ghannouj)‎: "مُتَبَّل" means "spiced" or "seasoned," from "مُ" "mu-," a participlizing prefix, + "تَبَّلَ" "tabbala‎," "to have spices added to." Here, fresh avocado replaces the roasted eggplant usually used to make this smooth dip; it is mixed with green chili pepper, lemon juice, garlic, white tahina, sumac, and labna (لبنة) or yoghurt. Either of these dishes may be topped with sesame or nigella seeds, pomegranate seeds, fresh dill, or chopped nuts, and eaten with sliced and toasted flatbread.
Avocados' history in Palestine precedes their introduction to Gaza. They were originally planted in 1908 by a French order of monks, but these trees have not survived. It was after the Balfour Declaration of 1917 (in which Britain, having been promised colonial control of Palestine with the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire after World War 1, pledged to establish "a national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine) that avocado agriculture began to take root.
In the 1920s, 30s, and 40s, encouraged by Britain, Jewish Europeans began to immigrate to Palestine in greater numbers and establish agricultural settlements (leaving an estimated 29.4% of peasant farming families without land by 1929). Seeds and seedlings from several varieties of avocado were introduced from California by private companies, research stations, and governmental bodies (including Mikveh Israel, a school which provided settlers with agricultural training). In these years, prices were too high for Palestinian buyers, and quantities were too low for export.
It wasn't until after the beginning of the Nakba (the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from "Jewish" areas following the UN partition of Palestine in 1947) that avocado plantings became significant. With Palestinians having been violently expelled from most of the area's arable land, settlers were free to plant avocados en masse for export, aided (until 1960) by long-term, low-interest loans from the Israeli government. The 400 acres planted within Israel's claimed borders in 1955 ballooned to 2,000 acres in 1965, then 9,000 by 1975, and over 17,000 by 1997. By 1986, Israel was producing enough avocados to want to renegotiate trade agreements with Europe in light of the increase.
Israeli companies also attained commercial success selling avocados planted on settlements within the West Bank. As of 2014, an estimated 4.5% of Israeli avocado exports were grown in the occupied Jordan Valley alone (though data about crops grown in illegal settlements is of course difficult to obtain). These crops were often tended by Palestinian workers, including children, in inhumane conditions and at starvation wages. Despite a European Union order to specify the origin of such produce as "territories occupied by Israel since 1967," it is often simply marked "Israel." Several grocery stores across Europe, including Carrefour, Lidl, Dunnes Stores, and Aldi, even falsified provenance information on avocados and other fruits in order to circumvent consumer boycotts of goods produced in Israel altogether—claiming, for example, that they were from Morocco or Cyprus.
Meanwhile, while expanding its own production of avocados, Israel was directing, limiting, and destabilizing Palestinian agriculture in an attempt to eliminate competition. In 1982, Israel prohibited the planting of fruit trees without first obtaining permission from military authorities; in practice, this resulted in Palestinians (in Gaza and the West Bank) being entirely barred from planting new mango and avocado trees, even to replace old, unproductive ones.
Conditions worsened in the years following the second intifada. Between September of 2000 and September of 2003, Israeli military forces destroyed wells, pumps, and an estimated 85% of the agricultural land in al-Sayafa, northern Gaza, where farmers had been using irrigation systems and greenhouses to grow fruits including citrus, apricots, and avocados. They barred almost all travel into and out of al-Sayafa: blocking off all roads that lead to the area, building barricades topped with barbed wire, preventing entry within 150 meters of the barricade under threat of gunfire, and opening crossings only at limited times of day and only for specific people, if at all.
A July 2001 prohibition on Palestinian vehicles within al-Sayafa further slashed agricultural production, forcing farmers to rely on donkeys and hand carts to tend their fields and to transport produce across the crossing. If the crossing happened to be closed, or the carts could not transport all the produce in time, fruits and vegetables would sit waiting in the sun until they rotted and could not be sold. The 2007 blockade worsened Gaza's economy still further, strictly limiting imports and prohibiting exports entirely (though later on, there would be exceptions made for small quantities of specific crops).
In the following years, Israel allowed imports of food items into Gaza not exceeding the bare minimum for basic sustenance, based on an estimation of the caloric needs of its inhabitants. Permitted (apples, bananas, persimmons, flour) and banned items for import (avocados, dates, grapes) were ostensibly based on "necessary" versus "luxury" foods, but were in fact directed according to where Israeli farmers could expect the most profit.
Though most of the imports admitted into Gaza continued to come from Israel, Gazan farmers kept pursuing self-sufficiency. In 2011, farmers working on a Hamas-government-led project in the former settlements produced avocados, mangoes, and most of the grapes, onions, and melons that Gazans ate; by 2015, though still forbidden from exporting excess, they were self-sufficient in the production of crops including onions, watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, almonds, olives, and apples.
Support Palestinian resistance by calling Elbit System’s (Israel’s primary weapons manufacturer) landlord, donating to Palestine Action’s bail fund, and donating to the Bay Area Anti-Repression Committee bail fund.
Ingredients:
2 medium avocados (300g total)
1/4 cup white tahina
2 Tbsp labna (لبنة), or yoghurt (laban, لبن رايب)
1 green chili pepper
2 cloves garlic
2 Tbsp good olive oil
Juice of 1/2 lemon (1 1/2 Tbsp)
1 tsp table salt, or to taste
Pomegranate seeds, slivered almonds, pine nuts, chopped dill, nigella seeds, sesame seeds, sumac, and/or olive oil, to serve
Khubiz al-kmaj (pita bread), to serve
Instructions:
1. In a mortar and pestle, crush garlic, pepper, and a bit of salt into a fine paste.
2. Add avocados and mash to desired texture. Stir in tahina, labna, olive oil, lemon juice, and additional salt.
You can also combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
3. Top with a generous drizzle of olive oil. Add toppings, as desired.
4. Cut pita into small rectangles or triangles and separate one half from the other (along where the pocket is). Toast in the oven, or in a large, dry skillet, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Serve dip alongside toasted pita chips.

Flammkuchen / Tarte Flambeé / "German pizza"
Tumblr media
This evening I found a slab of Speck (strong-smoked bacon) in the freezer that I didn't know we had, there was half an onion and a tub of Lithuanian sour cream in the fridge, so @dduane decided to try Flammkuchen.
Originally, so the story goes, it was made by bakers as a pre-thermometer way to check the temperature of their wood-fired ovens (and provide a quick snack at the same time).
Tarte flambée is the French name, but "German Pizza" or indeed any sort of pizza it certainly isn't; there's neither tomato sauce nor cheese, and no yeast in the dough.
Whether it's German or French depends on who you ask, since it originates from the province of Alsace, an area which has changed hands a lot in the past couple of centuries and whose ownership has been A Source Of Friction Between Guess Who for almost as long.
To stay neutral, the recipe DD used is Swiss. ;->
Here's the translation:
*****
Alsatian tarte flambée
This delicious speciality from Alsace is also ideal for an aperitif. Thinly rolled bread dough with sour cream, onions and bacon cubes!
350g flour (12½ oz) 1.25 tsp salt 2 dl water (6.7 US fl oz / .42 US pt) 2 tbsp olive oil 200 g crème fraîche / sour cream (7 oz) 2 onions (we had less, so used less...) 120 g farmer's (thick, well-smoked) bacon in slices (4¼ oz) a small grind of pepper
And this is how it's done:
Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Pour in water and oil, mix and knead into a soft, smooth dough. Form the dough into a ball, cover and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 240 degrees (464 F). Halve the dough and roll it out into an oval shape about 3 mm thick (1/10 inch) on a lightly floured surface. Place the dough on two baking sheets lined with baking paper.
Spread the crème fraîche / sour cream over the dough, leaving a border of approx. 1 cm (½ inch) free all around. Peel the onions, cut them into fine rings, cut the bacon into strips, spread both over the crème fraîche / sour cream and season.
Baking per tray: approx. 12 minutes each on the bottom shelf of the oven.
*****
Since this was our first time making Flammkuchen, we baked them one at a time to check for errors. There were none (Swiss recipe!) and 12 minutes was exactly right to produce this result both times:
Tumblr media
DD needs to be careful because of IBS so they were made with mostly bacon on one side, mostly onion on the other, and with a glass of cool white wine they made an excellent Sunday supper.
Next time, now we know how well this recipe works, we'll be more generous with the toppings. :->
Incidentally, rather than baking-trays or the pizza stone we need to replace (ceramic utensils, tile floors and gravity Do Not Mix Well) we used the cast-iron griddle which in summer often goes on the BBQ...
Tumblr media
... and gave the oven a thorough pre-heating, then transferred the Flammkuchen in and out with a peel, all of which worked splendidly.
That tip about using baking paper is excellent, BTW: no sticking, no spillage, no washing up. I bet it'll work with other things as well.
Like, for instance, more Flammkuchen... ;->

How many things can someone possibly put in a rice ball? To slurp, or not to slurp? Better yet, is slapping somebody with a whole head of pickled cabbage a viable course of action?
It's humiliating, almost, paired with Osamu Miya in every culinary class. Not because of his lack of skill- he's good, too good even. But he smacks his tongue audibly against the roof of his mouth every time he digs into your cooking, slurps until showers of broth come spitting from the bowl, wipes his hands on his apron, slathering emulsifications of aioli and hollandaise onto rough canvas fabric, then grabs your waist to walk behind you. Every quirk of his is incomplete without his signature, shit-eating smirk. Every class has you considering swinging whatever tool you have in hand into his face.
Unfortunately, that day is not today. Onigiri only requires hands, and seeing that Osamu has formed six seemingly perfect balls of seaweed wrapped rice, he is clearly much better at using them than you are. Handiwork training is what today's chef called this atrocity. To move beyond being a cook to a chef, you must learn the first tool of cooking- your hands, he said. From the corner of your eye, you catch Osamu's amused glances towards the two funky looking shapes on your plate, and the panicked pulses of your palms against a handful of slippery, seasoned rice. He picks up one of the six onigiri of his own, the rounded tip of the triangle disappearing into his mouth as he chews, agonisingly slowly, smacking his tongue the way he knows you hate. A grumble elicits from your throat, your hands squeezing tighter against the sticky grains in your grasp, only for more chunks to fall apart.
"Let me help."
"No."
"Whatever you say."
He walks over now, biting a second corner off his onigiri as his hips lean against your side of the counter. His lips smack together obnoxiously, teeth squelching and grinding at rice and salmon. You irk your brows when the rice in your grasp seems to stop sticking to each other. It takes one look at your now opaque bowl of water for you to realise that you've washed all the starch off in your attempts to release the grains from your palms. Osamu figured it out when you dipped your hand into the bowl for the seventh time.
"Mix it into the rest of the rice that you have. That helps."
You hate that he's right, because when you do what he's told you to, the rest of the rice comes around the wet grains and sticks to them like they're supposed to. He pops the rest of his onigiri into his mouth, swiping his hands together before rubbing them over the sides of his rice-decorated apron. You try again, scooping up a lukewarm ball of rice. Flattening it against your palm, you search for the bowl of salmon, eyes landing on an empty bowl adorned with sad, pink flakes of salt-grilled fish. Osamu's already sliding the rest of his salmon over the counter.
"Need extra?" His mouth is still stuffed, a single piece of rice sticks to the corner of his mouth.
"Thanks."
You dump a spoonful of salmon into the centre of your rice pattie, before sticking your free hand into the water and folding your palms into each other. The rice sticks to your fingers when you pull away, and you groan, pushing harder. At that, grains begin to crack away from the ball, bits of salmon beginning to stick out from the bottom. Osamu swallows half of the contents in his mouth, his cheek jutting out like a hamster hoarding sunflower seeds. He watches your inexperienced hands, clawing at and tossing the rice to shape it, and he reaches over to rinse his hands over the sink.
"Just let me help you out."
Grains of jasmine rice stick to his wet palms that come around your hands, squeezing and pushing at a ball of rice that falls apart at each movement. The fuzz of his rolled up sweater sleeves rubs against your forearms as his fingers work their way onto yours. Starchy water trickles down the back of your hand when he forces them to loosen around the mess of grilled salmon and rice, and you sigh in defeat, letting him move you as he pleases.
"Look, I'm not sure why you dislike me so much."
"I don't."
He chuckles, pushing your hands into the rice now. You study the pressure he applies to the ball of rice, learn the shape of his fingers around yours, memorise the cup of his palms around the back of your own.
"Yes, you do. You always look at me like-"
You snap your head around to meet his eyes, and he's so close that for the first time, you have to angle your head to look up at him. He's not smirking anymore, moreso observing. You aren't sure what there is to observe on your face, but it's welcome nevertheless.
"Like what?"
He purses his lips, huffing out a dejected sigh.
"Like that."
He lets go of your hands, stepping backwards, and you hold the perfectly moulded onigiri up to eye level. The rice is glossy in a sheen of vinegar and water, yet pertains its fluffiness in the tack of starch against your fingers. The handiwork of a true chef.
"You're so good at this class that I can't even get annoyed at you openly. It's infuriating."
"What did I ever do to you?"
You laugh sarcastically, waving the newly formed onigiri in Osamu’s face, before taking a bite. He laughs, mouth forming a taunting oh when you smack your lips against each other the way that he does, the flakiness of salmon spreading char and salt across your tastebuds. Then, you place the onigiri aside, rubbing your hands up and down your pristine apron, before grabbing his waist to move him to the side so you can walk past, making sure bits of rice and fish stick to his apron. He chuckles, clapping tantalisingly slowly at your imitation of his habits. You give him a fake bow, and he drops his hands to his hips, shrugging.
"That's it?"
"Yeah, pretty much. Petty rivalry and kitchen hygiene."
"Mind you, I am very hygienic. My shop hasn't been shut down for a reason."
You watch Osamu's hands dig into the remaining portion of your rice, his tongue sticking out as he moulds and shapes it into another perfectly rounded triangle. You scoff at his defensiveness, arms crossed in front of you. He wraps a rectangle of seaweed across the centre of the rice ball, and holds it up to your face. It is swiped from his fingers by your own, and you stuff half of it into your mouth, chewing without a sound and swallowing the mouthful.
"You do not have a shop."
"Where'd you think I learned how to do all this?" His hands shoot out to wave at his perfect collection of hand-made onigiri, and you sigh, rolling your head to the side.
"Okay, sure. You have a shop. It's a surprise you can be this annoying and keep it running."
"Loosen up, I just wipe my hands on my apron and eat loud. It's not like I'm spitting in my food. Besides, being that uptight ends up with your onigiri coming out more like...that." His head nods towards the funky ones on your plate, bits of fish sticking from the crevices between individual grains of rice. You shrug in acceptance, taking another bite from his onigiri. Osamu clicks his tongue, grabbing your wrist to bring the rice ball to his mouth instead, consuming the final corner of the triangle in its entirety. He swallows it with a hum, his fingers still around your wrist. He's not letting go. Now, you're interested.
"Should I pay you a visit? Need to see for myself that you're running it to safety standards."
"Are you flirting with me? Because you should keep going."
You roll your eyes when you see him wink at you from above your hand, but an toothy grin creeps its way onto your face, and Osamu smiles at his tactics.
"Whatever you say, Miya." His last name finally makes it out of your mouth for the first time since the two of you have been put together for this course, and he drops your wrist.
"You know, I could teach you how to make those onigiris properly if you show up to Onigiri Miya. You'd be almost as good as me by the end of it."
You flick a grain of rice at him, and it sticks to his apron unceremoniously. He's even named the shop after his family name. How cute. Despicable.
"Don't try your luck, chef."
"Chef? High praise."
The supervising chef sounds a bell, harsh waves of high pitched ringing echoing throughout the room. And as Osamu scrubs at bowls and lathers soapy water onto plates, he watches you tap at your phone with clean hands. Your sink is already empty, the two bowls and one plate that you used in total sitting on the drying rack already. Your onigiris sit in a takeout container, lined up neatly in two rows. His own are still on their plate, and he reminds himself to grab a takeout box for himself. You look up to Osamu, and he looks back at his wet hands and soapy dishes.
"Found you online. I'll be checking your place out soon." You remark at him, and the corners of his mouth curl up into a grin.
"You sure you're not there to check me out instead?" You snicker at his blatant flirtations, and pretend that he's completely incorrect.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves now, Miya."
You shove your phone back into your pocket, swipe an onigiri off his plate, and wave at him as you turn your back to leave.
Osamu watches your silhouette push open the door as he slots his dishes into the drying rack. He hopes that you'll become his favourite regular at Onigiri Miya.

The Seasoned Archer - Part 2
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: NSFW! Slight hair pulling, no p in v just suggestive, VERY poorly written smut. Read at your own expense.
I don't know what else to add. This is my first sort of NSFW so sorry if i have missed anything.
NSFW - MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Part 1 - you don't have to read for this to make sense
The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow on the room. Yet, a slight chill still lingered in the air, rousing you from your deep sleep. You weren’t quite ready to be awake yet. As you shifted, you noticed that both your naked selves were covered in goose bumps. Pulling up the duvet cover from the bottom of the bed, you cocooned yourselves, tucking the covers up to your chin. Settling back down into Daryl’s embrace, you let out a content sigh.
He was still sleeping, and you didn’t want to disturb him. After all, he deserved a day off—especially since he’d essentially worked all night… Daryl rarely rested and if it took a whole night of him fucking you senseless, until he was so exhausted he passed out and got some rest, well…that wasn’t exactly a bad thing.
You’d spent the night entangled in each other’s passion, bodies weaving together in the aftermath. The ache within you was a reminder of the multiple times he’d had ploughed into you. Normally Daryl would make love to you, sweetly but there were some nights where you were both so hungry for each other, the intensity overflowed…that was last night.
Multiple times.
And then some.
You couldn’t sleep when you first entered his room, you tried but Daryl had other ideas in mind.
Not that you were complaining. Revisiting the nights events in your head replaced the throbbing in your core with new wetness and a burning desire for Daryl to be deep inside you again.
Turning on your side, pressing your breasts into his back, now hardened nipples poking into his skin, your mouth found the crook of his neck, gently pressing kisses from his shoulder up and along the side to his jaw, gently tracing your tongue as you move, you could still taste a slight salty-ness to his skin from last night’s antics. Your free hand reached for Daryl’s length, stroking softly up to the tip, you could already feel his arousal growing beneath your touch.
Suddenly, the distant sound of someone banging around outside was enough to snap you out of your haven. It was probably Carol or Michone, one of the girls, you all preferred to stay under the same roof, it felt safer and so it wasn’t out of the ordinary to hear movement or noises, there was always one person awake and pottering. The noise subsided and some soft thudding moved down the hallway away from you.
You hadn’t realised that Daryl was awake until his calloused hand, rough from countless battles, cups your cheek, thumb grazing your skin. The scent of sweat, leather, and pine clings to him, a heavy mix that intoxicates your senses. His other hand finds its way into your hair gently tugging at the bottom of your neck, pulling your head back slightly.
His lips meet yours, the kiss, fierce, consuming, as if he’s trying to imprint himself upon you, leaving no room for doubt, His mouth moves against yours, tongue exploring all the contours of your mouth and you couldn’t help but let out a little moan, causing him to buck into you.
Your fingers thread through his hair, pulling him closer, urging him to deepen the kiss. His stubble grazes your skin, igniting sparks of sensation causing you to shiver all over. The taste of him—smoke, salt, and something primal—lingers on your lips. Daryl’s grip tightens around your waist, pulling you onto his lap, now straddling him, you could feel how hard he was between your legs and taking full advantage of that, you teased him, gliding your wet core against his hardness, back and forth, slowly.
“I need you”. He pulls away, breath ragged, eyes searching yours.
You were both distracted by Daryl’s door flying open, slamming against the wall, you were both so caught up in that moment that you hadn’t heard Carol knocking on the door, her footsteps faltered as she pushed open the bedroom door, her knuckles grazing the wooden frame,
“Daryl, are you okay? You never sleep this la….” Looking up from the pile of washing she was carrying.
Daryl, his usually stoic face now a mask of disbelief, sat up abruptly throwing you off of his lap, pulling the sheets around him as if they could shield him from the sudden intrusion. You swiftly moved behind Daryl, wide-eyed bedsheet clutched to your chest and your cheeks flushed crimson.
Carol’s own face mirrored the hue of a ripe tomato. She stammered an apology, her voice barely audible. “I—I’m so sorry,” she managed, her eyes darting between the two figures frozen in their vulnerability. “I didn’t mean to—”
But the words hung in the air. The room seemed to shrink around you both in complete embarrassment, mortified and stuck like rabbits in the headlights, unable to move - hoping this whole situation wasn’t real.
But Carol? Face no longer like a ripe tomato was now beaming when she realised that it was you Daryl was in bed with, her grin stretching from ear to ear,
“Congratulations Pookie!” she blurted out, her voice too loud for the small room. “So, the rumours were true! I’m so happy for you both!” She clapped her hands together, the sound echoing off the walls. “This is wonderful!”
Daryl’s shock remained etched on his face. He blinked at Carol, rendered momentarily speechless. Wrapped in the bedsheet, you managed a feeble smile—a blend of embarrassment and amusement—but words eluded you.
“Sorry,” Carol stammered, her realization dawning. “I’ll, uh, leave you two alone.” She retreated from the room, closing the door more delicately this time. Yet, before disappearing completely, she popped her head back around the door, her grin still wide.
“So that’s what all the banging has been at night—makes sense…” Carol began, but her sentence was abruptly cut short. Daryl, swift and mortified, snatched up a pillow and hurled it in her direction, the door slamming shut behind her.
In the aftermath, Daryl groaned, collapsing back onto the bed in disbelief. You, still sitting there, felt your cheeks burn with embarrassment. Contemplating escape through the window or how you’d ever face Carol again.
-
This is my first every teeny bit of NSFW/SMUT.
Please be nice, I'm just dipping my toes in.
If you have requests for some smut, please tell me <3

TikTok on the Clock // Daniel Ricciardo
Tumblr media
One of the best things to come out of the pandemic lockdown was finally giving in to the urge to download TikTok. You had quickly grown addicted to scrolling through the mix of eclectic videos that popped up on your “for you page” and soon enough decided to start posting some yourself.
It did not take long for Formula 1 fans to make the connection between your account and who your boyfriend is — Daniel Ricciardo was many things but subtle was not one of them and he had a tendency to “accidentally” interrupt you while you filmed.
You kept the account going long after restrictions eased and hopped on many of the trends that made their rounds on the app. This year, you were feeling slightly evil. You have been putting together a compilation of hilarious (if you did say so yourself) pranks that you pulled on your boyfriend since the season began and were just about to hit upload as the countdown began.
You put down your phone and turn to give Daniel your full attention.

Two
One
His lips taste like champagne.
Happy New Year!
“Hey Dan?”
“Mmh.”
“Maybe stay off TikTok for a bit.”
“What did you do?”
One
You loved the Australian Grand Prix. Your boyfriend’s home race was a spectacle on the track and a great opportunity to spend time with his family off the track.
As usual, you flew out to Perth a bit early before switching coasts for the race. You were busy in the kitchen, putting the finishing touches on dinner as you prepared to host everyone that evening. When everything was mostly done, you started recording on your phone and leaned it against the wall inconspicuously before calling for your boyfriend.
“Hey, babe?” You pour a heaping pile of salt on a spoon.
“Yeah?” You can hear Daniel from across the house.
“Can you come taste my sauce?” You dunk the spoon in a pot of your tomato sauce and pick up just enough to hide the salt.
He basically runs to the kitchen, “test taster reporting for duty.”
You bring the spoon to his mouth, “I used your nonna’s recipe.”
His eyes screw shut and his mouth puckers, “my-my nonna’s recipe?”
“Your mom shared it with me. Isn’t it delicious?”
“Yeah,” his voice cracks. “Delicious.”
You look at his face again and fight a losing battle not to laugh as he desperately tries not to offend you and his grandma.
You reach towards your phone as giggles escape you.
Daniel finally realizes he’s been tricked, “are you serious?”
You point the camera towards your boyfriend, “you should’ve seen your face.”
“You’re so mean to me,” he pouts.
Two
“Babe?” You questioned coming through the front door. You had spent the day loading up on groceries and stopping by a few boutiques that caught your eye. This was the perfect opportunity to finally pull one over on your boyfriend.
“I’m in here,” you drop your bags in the foyer and follow Daniel’s voice to where he’s lying on the living room sectional.
Your phone is stuck in your bra, the camera just peaking over your shirt. “My car told me I needed windshield wiper fluid while I was out.”
He lowers his phone but keeps his focus on it.
“So I pulled into a gas station and the guy working there gave me a really good deal. He told me I got it for 50 percent off and it was only $150 for me because of how sweet I was.”
Daniel’s head snaps up as he drops his phone.
“$150?”
“Yeah.”
“You paid $150?”
“Yeah …”
“For windshield wiper fluid?”
“Yeah? He told me it was a good deal!”
“Love,” you can’t tell if he wants to laugh or cry, “I could’ve done that for free. He ripped you off.”
“But it was 50 percent off?”
“It costs less than $5 to buy and then you just pour it in!” He gestures wildly, “this is my fault. How do I race for a living and literally collect cars without teaching my girlfriend how to change her own windshield wiper fluid?”
By this point you’re silently laughing which Daniel finally notices.
“Really? Really?” He turns around to face the back of the couch, “don’t talk to me.”
“Awww, baby. Don’t be mad at me,” you coo. “I think it’s cute how protective you got.”
“Still mad at you.” It’s hard to take him seriously with his face shoved into the leather couch, muffling his voice.
Three
You walk into the gym, your phone hidden in the pocket of your leggings, and take in the view of you shirtless boyfriend.
The fans will appreciate this one.
“Dan?”
He pauses his juggling on the stationary bike.
“My back’s really been bothering since I came back from my run. Do you think you can help me stretch it or something?”
He gets off the bike and walks toward you, “do you want me to call Michael? He won’t mind coming over to help with your back.”
“Don’t bother him. It’s nothing major,” you turn away from your boyfriend and quickly stick two pieces of pasta between your molars while he can’t see, “just need to loosen it up a bit.”
“Okay …” he spreads his palms across your back and applies some careful pressure. You bite down on the pasta, timing the crack with his movements.
“Oh my god.” You let your body go limp.
“Love? Are you okay?” He tries to hold you up but you collapse on the padded floor of the gym.
“Is it your back? What did I do? I knew we should’ve just called Michael. Oh my god.”
You take pity on your boyfriend, not wanting him to think that he actually broke your back for longer than a few seconds, “it was just pasta.”
“What?”
“The sound. It was just me biting pasta. It’s a prank trend.”
He lets go of your body and you fully drop to the floor.
“Are.” He pelts you with one of the balls he was juggling.
“You.” And another.
“Kidding.” And another.
“Me?” And another.
You run out of the gym laughing as he continues to chase you through the house, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
“I thought I broke your back!”

2 tbsp yeast
2.5 cups warm water
2tbsp brown sugar
1tbsp salt
5.5 cups flour (measure flour by spooning into measuring cup them scraping off excess so it ain't as packed as putting scoop right into flour u will get more uniform and tru 2 recipe scoops this way)
Enough olive oil to fully coat the bowl ur leaving dough in 2 rise and 2 brush on later
2.5 tbsp mixed rosemary/ oregano/ thyme (or whatever herb mix ur feelin)
1/4 cup grated parm
1/2 cup grated havilah
(Cheese optional but nice feel free to sub out or for preferred cheeses)
(This recipe makes 2 good sized loaves so u can half it if u want less bread)
-Add yeast to warm water and mix till dissolved and let rest covered 5min(it should b frothy when uncovered)
-Add dark brown sugar and salt, mix together thoroughly(still frothy)
-Slowly add flour half cup at a time till fully incorporated in the bowl
- remove from bowl and knead a few min while adding in optional cheese n seasonings (I'm worse at deceiving this part but knead with medium force until it becomes shiney n strechy, it could take 3-10 min honestly this part is vibes but also the dough is v forgiving if u accidentally over knead)
-Put in oiled bowl and cover, let rest 20-30 min in a warm place(if u want u can leave it overnight in the fridge)
-Take out and shape into loaves(like gently cut dough ball into half or thirds n put em on greased baking trays)
Cover and let rest 5min
Preheat oven to 450
-Cut bread tops& brush on oily herb mixture
-Bake 15-30min till brown and crusty
Lmk if i left any gaps but also with all the yeast this bread has it kinda does its own thing lol
Sounds intriguing. Gonna save this for the time I'll try baking next time.

I need to share this. (@st-just : hearty gruel alert!)
Red lentils. Boil them in a pot all by themselves, with salt, until soft. Skim the Bad Foam (or first wash them many times, until the water's clear). Set them aside.
Take a big skillet, and sauté in medium heat garlic with cumin, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, and ginger. Grate a tomato in there (or however you add tomato in sauces), add fresh parsley or coriander, and stir.
Drop in the red lentils with water, tumeric, lemon juice, AND TAHINI. Mix them together, let them cook for a few minutes more, stir until done. Adjust texture to taste basically, it's up to you if you'll eat with a fork or with a spoon.
Now serve. In the middle of the gruel, plop a spoonful of strained yoghurt, and slice some raw red onion around it. Drizzle some olive oil/lemon on top. Ready? CHARGE.
Tumblr media
hot lentils (sans parsley, I was out) served in gruel form, a hearty meal for 1
Numbers (approximate), for 2 people
pot:
200 gr red lentils
7 minutes boiling
salt to taste
skillet:
2 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger [I don't actually KNOW numbers for the spices, I'm eyeballing this; do what you will]
1 big tomato
salt and pepper to taste
+2 minutes stirring
skillet with the lentils:
~1/2 cup water (IF you've strained the lentils; I empty most but not all of the water from the pot, and then unceremoniously plop the whole thing in there)
1 teaspoon tumeric
4 tablespoons tahini
1/2 lemon
8 minutes cooking total
per serving:
1 hefty tablespoon yoghurt
1/2 small red onion
olive oil and lemon to taste
Feel free to play around with spices and seasoning. The only essential ingredients are the lentils, oil+tomato+cumin, and tahini+lemon.
It's completely feasible with brown lentils, except they take longer to boil. Basically this recipe combines the standard "brown lentils + tahini" with "red lentils + a bunch of spices".
If you have iron deficiency, the dairy will inhibit the iron absorption from the lentils, so either skip the yoghurt, or decide you're eating this because it's delicious, and not because it's good for your blood.
Tumblr media
cold lentils ~8 hours later, now in spread-ish form, kinda like hummus. reheating not necessary, fantastic mezze for 2. lasts in the fridge for 3-4 days (just let it out to acquire room temperature first, and serve with yoghurt and onions again).

In case anyone was curious about the supposed leaks for season 2 episodes 3 and 4, you can find a paraphrased summary of the main points below the cut. They aren't confirmed, it's just from screenshots of messages between two people, and the person who watched the episode doesn't seem very knowledgeable about canon (hasn't read the book/mixes up dragon names) so take with a hefty grain of salt. Feel free to discuss your thoughts in the replies to this post as well!
Episode 3:
Helaena is only in one brief scene with Alicent
Aegon embarrasses Aemond at the brothel (mocks him for going back to the first woman he ever slept with even as an adult)
Episode 4:
Alicent has a Maester bring her moon tea by saying it's for someone else and then drinks it herself in private
Aemond is supposed to go to Harrenhal but goes rogue and plots with Criston behind Aegon's back to show up at Rook's Rest instead
Aemond burns both Meleys/Rhaenys and Sunfyre/Aegon during the fight at Rook's Rest
Rhaenys has an opportunity to fly away after Aegon was downed, but for some reason loops back over the battlefield, leaving herself wide open for Vhagar who then takes her down
After Aegon is downed, Aemond dismounts Vhagar and is going after him with his sword drawn when Criston finds him; unclear whether Aemond was trying to attack Aegon or not
My thoughts:
I'm sad it seems like we aren't getting much of Helaena since I find her character by far one of the most interesting + Phia Saban is one of the stronger actors on the show
I like the parallel of Alicent and Rhaenyra taking moon tea after sleeping with Criston for its mirroring and also because how it's kinda funny how badly none of these women want his baby
Some people were thinking Helaena might get pregnant with Maelor later but I don't think they're planning to include him at all now; curious to see how this impacts Daeron's storyline since it kinda revolved around Maelor
Biggest point of departure from book canon is Aemond seemingly being the one responsible for Aegon getting burned and crippled and maybe even trying to finish him off in the closing scene. There's no mention of this in the books at all, and book Aemond never tried to claim himself to be king while ruling in Aegon's stead, so didn't seem very eager to usurp him
I'm reserving judgment for the airing of episode 4 itself but am curious to see how this might slot into Aemond's characterization

hi are you the one with the guacamole where you used every pepper you could find at the grocery store? if so, please i would like the recipe. if not, feel free to ignore this. thank you ! :3
Yeah that’s me, that guacamole post will haunt me for eternity.
Here’s the recipe
Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
2-3 cloves of garlic
1 tomato chopped
1 finely chopped onion
A bit of finely chopped cilantro
Juice of one lime
Salt to taste
Whatever chilies you can find at your grocery store.
Now for the chilies I used they’re the following (picture for visual reference attached)
Serranos (mild to high spicy depending on the season)
Jalapeños (mild)
Habaneros (high)
Güero (low to mid)
Caribe (low to mid)
Arbol (usually sold dry, mid to high spicy)
Tho if you can find piquin then you’re in for a treat! Those are really spicy!
Tumblr media
Instructions:
First you are NOT going to deseed any of the chilies, they’re usually the spicy part of it and you want this fucker to hurt badly.
On a pan on medium high you’re going to roast all of the chilies until they’re slightly charred (open up a window because this is going to hurt you, you will cough, it’s inevitable) once charred remove from heat and roughly chop them, they will be real soft so you don’t need to be too careful about the size.
Now I used a molcajete for the preparation, if you’re not Mexican you can use a mortar and pestle, if you don’t have one you can use a bowl, you will just need to finely chop the garlic beforehand.
On your molcajete/mortar drop the garlic cloves and salt (around a teaspoon worth, but tbh I measure that with my soul) if you use sea salt is better because of the size of the grains of salt it helps with grinding the garlic, but you can always use regular table salt.
After the garlic has been grated entirely then you will add the chilies, a bit at a time, we want it all to be grind into paste all together. Again if you don’t have a molcajete/mortar then you can just finely chop it all together.
Add the peeled and pitted avocado next, to make it easier to mix chop it beforehand. We want to make it a paste as well, you can use a fork for this step if you’re using a regular bowl.
Then you add your onion, tomato, cilantro and the lime juice, just mix it with a spoon, taste and add salt if needed.
And we’re done! Now you have a guacamole with more chilies than necessary!

Supper-337cals - 53g protein
This recipe takes about 30 mins. It’s a huge portion and so filling, I couldn’t even finish it all, I ate about half and saved the rest for tomorrow. Also it tastes absolutely amazing! My boyfriend loved it as well, and he usually hates “diet food.”
Just because you’re on a diet doesn’t mean your food has to be boring or bland!
Recipe below ⬇️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cheesy pasta w/ grilled chicken & veg - 337cal
Sauce - 110cal
0% cottage cheese 75g - 60c
Lactose free cream cheese 15g - 50c
Mustard 5g - 0c
Kernels white cheddar seasoning - 1.5 tbsp - 0c
Water 30g - 0c
Salt to taste - 0c
Pepper to taste - 0c
Garlic powder to taste - 0c
Mix everything well in a blender until nice and creamy, if it’s still chunky or too thick, add a touch more water and blend again. Set aside for now.
Chicken & Veg- 202cal
Chicken breast 150g - 180c
Salt to taste - 0c
Pepper to taste - 0c
Garlic powder to taste - 0c
Smoked paprika to taste - 0c
Baby spinach 50g - 12c
Broccoli florets 42g - 10c
Preheat frying pan on medium-high heat.
Cut chicken breast into small pieces, and add to a bowl. Add seasonings to taste (I add lots lol.) Add seasoned chicken to hot pan and get a little color & crisp on the outside, then turn heat down to medium-low, let cook while you prep your veg.
Once chicken is cooked through, turn heat down to low, add veggies, and a splash of water into pan with chicken and cover with a lid. Cook until spinach is wilted and broccoli are cooked how you like them (I like mine with a bit of crunch still.)
Once chicken and veg are done, you can either transfer them to a bowl or get another pan…
Pasta - 25cal!!!
Nu pasta fettuccine 1 package - 25c
Drain pasta and rinse well. Add pasta into pre heated frying pan and cook for 3-5 mins. Then add your chicken & veg mixture, and your sauce into pan. Let simmer for a few minutes.
enjoy!! Let me know if you try this out!

Pairing: Portuguese D. Ace x Fem!Reader
Rating: For all and sundry, with a little sprinkle of spiciness here and there
Summary: Small glimpses of daily life in autumn with your partner Ace, in this case we are not in the world of OP, but we are in the real world. An idea that came to me thanks to this Post, and what's more, the Autumn Equinox is today🍂 ah, my favorite season begins!
Tumblr media
🍁 Cosy Autumn Prompts 🍁
Tumblr media
🍁 Cuddling under a blanket 🍁
The days were starting to get shorter and shorter, the air was finally starting to feel fresher and not as muggy as in the previous days which had forced you to sleep in separate beds and with the fan on because it was too hot.
Finally the time came when you could get under a blanket and bask in the early hours of the morning. Ace is happy about this, he complained all summer that he couldn't use you as a pillow - he didn't mind the heat, but you risked fainting if the temperature was too excessive.
It felt good to feel his strong arms wrapping around your waist and bringing you close to him. Ace loved kissing every single inch of your free skin, sometimes he would take off your pajamas to have more skin to kiss, his fingers would pinch your hips pleasantly and you would laugh holding him to you. You liked stroking his hair, kissing his face and gently pulling his cheeks to tease him a little, tracing the lines of his muscles and observing that galaxy of freckles on his body. You kissed him, every now and then a little bite here and there. It was nice to go back to old habits.
“Come on pigeons, come down instead of flirting in bed.” The knocks on the door and Marco's voice brought you back to reality. It was better not to keep the large Newgate family waiting, also because you risked that one of them would enter the room to grab you and drag you out of bed.
You were about to get up when Ace held you back, carrying you back to the bed and placing the blanket over you.
“The two of us haven't finished our dose of morning cuddles yet.” He had said, kissing you passionately and leaving you no escape. Not even the knocks on the doors and threats from his older brother changed Ace's mind.
🍁 Baking together 🍁
Autumn also meant preparing big family lunches for everyone to be together. Or rather you cooked, Ace was responsible for tasting the dishes to help you adjust the spices, salt, pepper and cooking of the food.
The last time he cooked, his brothers had told you, the fire alarm had gone off and for this reason the whole family had decreed that Ace would no longer go near the stove. So all his brothers were amazed at your culinary skills and the fact that you allowed him to stay in the kitchen without causing damage.
“Ace, can you tell me if the pancake batter turned out well? Then get me the sugar and cinnamon.” You said as you continued to mix the cream to fill the pancakes with, Satch had entrusted you with the task of making desserts for that Branch and you had gone wild. Ace was very happy about it, he loved your sweets and finally he could go into the kitchen and scoff at some food.
“Did it come out perfect, when did you fry it?” The boy asked, passing you the ingredients you asked for. You replied that it would be better to do them after everyone had arrived, only his two brothers Sabo and Luffy were missing but they were on their way and would be there any moment.
“Oh no, I forgot to whip the cream for the cake!” Only then did you remember the cake that was resting in the fridge still unfilled and you also had to add all the fruit to it, but you had to finish making the blueberry pancakes and then the apple ones and the peach ones: "Ace, take the whisks and whip the cream, after which I'll decorate it." The situation was desperate because everyone was busy, even Satch.
Your boyfriend looked at you for a whole minute, then following your request and the instructions you gave him: you told him to take the cold container, put the cream in it and then use the whisk, increasing the speed slowly. You also told him what movement he had to make, up and down in such a way as to incorporate a little air to make it softer.
For once you were optimistic, he wouldn't do any damage.
A scream coming from the other side of the kitchen made you whirl towards an Ace covered from head to toe in whipped cream. How had he multiplied the cream like that?! You turned off the stove and headed towards him with a tablecloth to dry him off.
"Look at the bright side." He said as he tasted the cream on the sides of his mouth. Only he could see a positive side in that disaster,
“Didn't you let the kitchen catch fire?” You replied as you cleaned his clothes, he would have to go change, god it had gotten all over him.
“I know how to whip excellent cream.” Ace said smiling at you and letting you taste some whipped cream from his hand. In fact he was right, he had been good and there was enough left in the bowl to fill the cake.
“No Food Porn in my kitchen!” You jumped to attention as soon as you heard Satch's voice coming from the other side of the room and burst out laughing, who knows what he heard.
🍁 Lazy days in 🍁
Ace is a hyperactive boyfriend - despite his chronic narcolepsy - he doesn't know how to sit still for a moment, not even in the morning when you would like to sleep and stay under the covers as much as possible, but no, Ace won't let you. He's like a persistent cricket until you get up and go down to breakfast with him.
Ace tells you what he did as you go down the stairs and you listen to him trying not to trip on the steps and give him all the attention he deserves-because despite everything you love him to death. He took out the rubbish, put away the new bags, went for his morning run and has already met with your whole group of friends to get organized and go to university, he got the newspaper, did the shopping for breakfast and he went to get you your favorite espresso to surprise you.
The container is lukewarm, he begins to slowly sip your drink while your boyfriend does ten thousand things a second, he is emptying the dishwasher that you put on the previous evening while he tells you some gossip about the neighborhood, and he begins to put away every object of the kitchen in its place.
You remain with your drink and your eyes half closed listening to him, smiling every now and then in the hope that your brain will reconnect to the world with the caffeine it is ingesting.
Then the sound of a photo wakes you up and the vibrations of your phone force you to open the family chat - or rather the chat in which Ace's family have included you because for them you are part of the family now.
“Ace, did you send a photo of me in this condition?” You said without getting too angry, by now Ace's family knew you so well that they had seen you in even worse situations - and you had your photo library to be able to threaten them.
“You look like Baby Yoda, look how cute you are!” He said Ace hugging you and peppering you with kisses on the cheeks, as if he were going to charge you-it kind of worked.
“Come on, we have so many things to do and so many lessons to follow.” The brunette said placing your favorite cereal in front of you. His smile was so beautiful.
“Ace it's six in the morning, lessons start at nine, I'm going back to bed.” You tried to get up, but Ace didn't let you go, this time too you weren't able to fully enjoy a lazy day, but your boyfriend knows how to make up for it.
🍁 Carving pumpkins 🍁
Having a little brother is something you've always wanted, and Luffy is perfect for this role. You love Ace's five year old brother, he's small, compact and sometimes when you go out you can pretend to be a happy family to get some discounts on lunch. And Luffy loves calling you mom or calling Ace dad to scare away girls who bother him when you go out shopping together.
And that day was no different, you went out to buy pumpkins to carve, Luffy's school had assigned this task to the children to start decorating the school for the autumn term. And the girls attacked Ace while you and Luffy were choosing the pumpkins to buy, you and the little one looked at each other and carried out the plan, the girls' faces were a sight and Ace played your game so well that they ran away apologizing to you.
“Luffy uses the spoon to remove the pulp and seeds, but don't throw them away, I'll put them in the oven to make some snacks.” You said as you continued carving the pumpkin you had emptied earlier, “Ace help your brother.” You added seeing the smaller one in difficulty. You hadn't expected them both to make a mess and end up covered in pumpkin from head to toe, you were only distracted for two minutes.
You rolled your eyes at their carelessness laughing until you felt something sticky hit your chest. It was pumpkin pulp, the one that was not eaten and which contained all the seeds. The two brothers looked at you with challenging looks. You started running around the kitchen, aware that they would catch you in no time and that they would fill you with pumpkin, but you managed to defend yourself even if you fell and they both followed closely behind you due to how slippery the floor had become.
“Now we have to clean ourselves up.” You said jokingly as you picked up a little Luffy in your arms and removed the pumpkin on his face.
“We bathe together!” The little one said smiling playfully and chuckling and throwing himself on top of you.
“And I was going to cook you, stuff you and eat you.” Ace whispered in your ear making you turn all red as soon as he placed his lips on your neck. Or why your boyfriend could be so damn sexy even in a situation like that.
“Ace I want to eat the stuffed big sister too!” Luffy's comment shocked you, or at least he made you go into disarray while Ace laughed big time at what was happening, the little one looked at you in a daze, leaning on your neckline to understand if you were doing well or badly.
He would then ask Sabo.
🍁 Movie nights 🍁
“We're over having a movie marathon!” Ace always had a bad habit of yelling at everyone when you came up to his room. You knew that he had pushy brothers, very pushy, but every now and then you wanted something calmer.
“Do you have to say it every time?” You asked, pulling his cheek a little.
“Let's go so they don't bother us.” The boy replied as he kissed the palm of his hand making you blush visibly.
“Turn the volume up a little or change movie genre, lovebirds!” Izou's voice made you stop halfway up the stairs, the boy with long black hair passed you, adding: "And this time we're almost full, so I suggest you don't do any kind of stunt."
"WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?" Ace started chasing his brother.
“That the walls of the house are thin turnip heads!”
🍁 Flannel shirts 🍁
If there was one thing you liked to do it was get rid of Ace's shirts. Your beloved boyfriend had built up so much muscle mass thanks to his workouts that many shirts he owned had to be given away because they were too small now. And finally you could throw away some of dubious taste, like the leopard one or the one with zebra stripes. You finally had the power and the opportunity to get new ones.
“Cool colors suit you better Ace.” You told him as you hung some shirts in those shades, you had filled him with shirts to try on in the changing rooms.
“Are you sure I need that many? I only need a couple." He said coming out of the dressing room and wearing the dark red one, it looked great on him.
“This autumn will be milder than others, you need these light shirts so you don't die of the heat.” You responded by fixing his collar and smiling at him: “Come on, you have six more to try, come on Love!”
🍁 Cold hands 🍁
“Your hands are frozen!” Ace always worries about you, I mean how do you lose heat even though you go out all covered up with sweaters, scarves, hats and gloves. During the lessons you take together Ace has to hold your hands to prevent them from becoming very cold.
“You know that I lose heat and that you gain it.” You said resting your head on his shoulder. Your university had a bad habit of not turning the heating on full blast, yet the rainy week was always the coldest.
“And yet I like your hands freezing when you run them over me.” Ace's voice was a whisper in your ear, accompanied by the gesture of taking your hand and placing it under his sweatshirt in direct contact with the skin of his abs. Suddenly a hot flash hit you out of the blue, you tried to stay calm so you wouldn't be discovered.
“You're a stove.”
“A stove that needs to be cooled. At the end of the lesson we go to the study room.” He whispered in your ear.
You definitely felt warmer now.
🍁 Steaming mugs 🍁
You had gone out early that morning, even though your nature would have led you to stay in bed for a while longer, but the sales for the furnishings of the house were starting and you wanted to go and buy something to start decorating it a little more and because the plates and glasses were starting to run out, you no longer lived alone in that house, Ace had almost moved in with you now, he was just missing one thing.
So you didn't think twice when you saw a giant orange mug on a shop cupboard next to a blue one. Orange and Blue are two complementary colors you remembered.
You didn't waste time, you bought them immediately and finished your shopping quickly to rush home to put everything away.
When Ace came back and saw the two steaming cups of hot chocolate and cream, decorated with cookies and homemade treats on the kitchen table he looked at you with eyes full of sweetness.
“Now you practically live with me, you have your toothbrush, your clothes are mixed with mine and you have the keys to the house, all you were missing was a cup for breakfast.” You said hugging him tightly to you, you would never let him go, not after he had entered your heart like that and made it his own. Ace held you tightly to him, he had never felt so good in that moment. He lifted you up and filled you with kisses not letting you go for any reason, he had finally found someone who would never abandon him and who was accepting him for who he was.
🍁 Scary movie marathons 🍁
You've never liked scary movies, the nightmares you get aren't normal, and you don't sleep for three days when you see one. But all of Ace's adopted brothers love having scary movie marathons and that's why they brought you in. Even little Luffy is braver than you and he watches them without any problems while eating his popcorn.
You can't watch them, not even the ones produced by Disney, in your opinion those are even more terrifying. For this reason Ace has organized it in the following way: You holding him and Luffy sitting on your lap. You were able to follow the film calmly, covering your eyes with Ace's hand when the scene became too scary, even if Luffy told you about it and everyone started laughing...
Then you had to go to the bathroom because you drank too much coke, and because everyone needed a break, it was the third movie in a row you'd seen and you had to order pizzas.
You rinsed your face and walked out of the bathroom, meeting Luffy down the hall as he grabbed his favorite hat from his room and asked you to wait for him.
Once the child returned you walked towards the living room, unaware that someone was following you in the shadows.
It was a matter of moments, the light went off and on again a couple of times while you were walking down the corridor, what's more it was raining and the sound of the rain distracted you for those few seconds, you approached the window to see if there were any flashes on the horizon and the moment the light went away again and then reappeared you saw the figure behind you from the reflection in the window.
You whipped around to stand in front of Luffy to hide him from the black figure who possessed a disturbing voice and a blood-soaked knife.
You screamed, picked up Luffy - because the little straw hat was going to hit the monster - and ran down the stairs with tears in your eyes as it chased you.
Ace was under the stairs and caught you in time before you fell to the floor, you closed your eyes and a familiar laugh made you instinctively turn around.
Satch had taken off his mask and was laughing out loud, only to be hit by Marco and Izou and scolded.
You were shaking in Ace's arms and had tears in your eyes, your boyfriend got even more angry at his older brother, he and Luffy chased him around the house to teach him a lesson while Izou took you to get something warm to drink in the kitchen to relax your nerves.
Ace came back to you, hugging you and apologizing for what had happened.
“Don't worry, I'll sleep with you this evening and we beat Satch properly.” He said to reassure you.
“I want Luffy too.” You said as the little one came towards you to check on you. Ace didn't say anything, he knows that Luffy is a great nightmare buster and seeing that you love him so much warms his heart.
🍁 Home-cooked meals 🍁
If there's one thing you like to make, it's your family's homemade recipes. Your mom sent you Grandma's cookbook and now you're flipping through it with Ace. your grandmother wrote those recipes by hand, meticulously noting all the steps and tips that she acquired over time.
“This seems to be good.” She said Ace pointing to a recipe that included figs. She knew they were your favorite fruit and that you would eat them endlessly.
“Unfortunately, however, we no longer have figs, they no longer sell them in the supermarket, their season is coming to an end.” You replied, they look at the bruschetta that could be made for lunch, or the jam or the savory dishes or even other desserts.
“Who told you we have to get them at the supermarket.” You looked at Ace a little worried when he dialed Satch's number - despite the horror evening you forgave him - and when half an hour later the person concerned showed up at your house with a basket full of figs and everything you needed to do your grandmother's desserts and recipes.
“Satch, are you staying with us for dinner?” You asked carrying the basket into the kitchen.
“Actually the others are arriving too. Even Father wants to try your grandmother's recipes." The brunette replied carrying two more baskets of Figs, Ace had more in his hand.
You didn't wonder where they got them from, you smiled again because you know that was Ace's plan.
“I know you love cooking homemade meals as a family.” Your boyfriend said, kissing you lightly as the doorbell rang again, “These are the others, Luffy can't wait to get cooking.”
🍁 Scented candles 🍁
Ace had noticed that your mood was a bit down lately, the period of ongoing tests wasn't at all easy at university, especially when he knew that your professors were very rigid and expected mind-boggling projects. He helped you as best he could when he heard you repeat yourself or when you had to do a presentation or a practical project.
So as soon as he saw that mega set of orange, cinnamon and vanilla scented candles he had a great idea.
You heard a knock on the door of your study, you hadn't gotten up for four hours you noticed and when you told Ace he could come in but you didn't hear the door open you got weirded out. So without wasting time you left the room only to notice a lot of red rose petals on the carpet creating a trail towards the bathroom.
You went to investigate, then opened the door and noticed the atmosphere that your boyfriend had created in your bathroom: the heater was on and had warmed the air, the water in the tub was hot and steaming and full of foam and then there was 'there were candles, the candles were lit and released a very good scent of citrus, cinnamon and vanilla and there were also rose petals in the tub.
Ace leaned his chin on your shoulder and kissed your neck: “Come on, let's take a nice hot bath.” He said placing his warm hands on your hips.
You undressed each other and entered the hot tub, you leaned against his chest and enjoyed all the cuddles and attention he was giving you: not only had he taken the candles but also the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel matched.
“Thanks Ace, I really needed that.” You said turning to him and kissing him passionately.
“Anything to see you happy.” The dark-haired man replied, kissing him back.
For that evening you could do without studying, you had your eye on a body oil to put on after the shower.
🍁 Bear hugs 🍁
Ace was always ready to react to any situation, he had faced some rough and tumble during his life, but he certainly couldn't expect to be welcomed into the house by you and Luffy dressed in bear pajamas, which also included the matching hood.
You jumped on him once he entered the house and you all burst out laughing and Ace hugged you tight, so tight.
You were so lovely.
“We have pajamas for you too.” Luffy said running to get him. While Ace continued to kiss you.
“You're such a cute little bear.” He told you, kissing your forehead, then his gaze fell on your neckline and he noticed something that he liked even more.
“This little teddy bear will get plenty of honey tonight.” You whispered in his ear as Luffy arrived in Ace's costume.
Your boyfriend smirked as he went to change followed by his little brother. “Get ready, this bear wants a lot of honey.” He told you as he took off his shirt and thinking of all the ways he could make Luffy as tired as possible so you could have the whole evening to yourself.
So now on his lock screen there are the three of you all dressed up as a family of bears, but in your private chat there was you in the background with a copper colored lace suit and honey covering your breasts.
Grinning, Ace texted you that he was going to buy some honey that was out of stock.
🍁 Coffee shop dates 🍁
Going out in autumn meant only one thing, calling all your friends to go and have a hot and steaming drink to be in company, laugh and joke.
Ace had a commitment at university and would arrive later, but luckily he had one of your closest friends to keep you company. Yamato had managed to free herself from commitments with her family and had immediately run to the cafeteria, crushing you in a hug that never ended. You hadn't seen each other for three months and you started chatting about everything that had happened, until the waitress came by to ask you if you wanted something and while your friend was ordering a pumpkin pie and a hot tea you he only asked for tea.
“I haven't been so well lately.” You told her as you sweetened your cinnamon tea.
“After all the desserts you made, I believe it!” Yamato replied, regretting not having been able to taste them.
“It will be as you say and I also gained weight, ugh starting today we're going on a diet.” You said as you saw Ace arriving with your entire company of friends. He too was happy to see Yamato again after a long time and while he went to order for him.
“Aren't you pregnant?” Yamato asked you in a low tone of voice, explaining that everything you had had coincided with a pregnancy.
“I don't think so, we were always careful.” You responded as you saw your boyfriend walking back with the others and giving Yamato a look that you would talk about it later, even if you were skeptical. Ace had sat next to you with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and cream and you had changed the subject, Yamato had given you a look as if to say to get checked and then started joking with the others, while Ace held you close self.
🍁 Bonfire night 🍁
“If you're that sick, let's not go.” Ace had been categorical. Since that morning you have been nauseous and your head is heavy, you almost fell down the stairs.
“Ace I must have caught a cold, a Tachipirina and I'm fine.” You said while you were drinking tea instead of coffee, it was the only thing that made you feel good: "And then this evening all our friends are here and Yamato also managed to free herself for this night." It was the most beautiful part when the bonfires were lit for barbecues all together on the evening of the Autumn equinox and you would go there.
In the end Ace had to give in to your stubbornness, but at least he won the debate regarding a medical examination to be done, you had been too ill lately and this worried him.
When you arrived everyone was happy to see you, they had thought that until the last moment you couldn't come and finally you started making bonfires, Yamato stayed next to you the whole time at Ace's request, you might not have felt nauseous anymore, but the dizziness was still present.
“Eventually I'll go get some blood tests, maybe it's something missing.” You said to Yamato as you prepared the skewers to cook and Ace helped start the fire.
“If needed, I can hold Luffy for you.” She said your friend nodding to Ace that he was okay.
Your boyfriend worried a little too much.
“Did you manage to eat anything?” He asked you with a mug of beer in his hand and sitting next to you, he smelled like embers, even if he stung your nose it was a smell that didn't bother you.
“Yes, I ate something calm Ace.” You replied taking a sip of his beer and grimacing, you usually liked the beer he had.
“Mhm, my tastes are altered.” You said as you leaned against him and watched the fire dance in front of you. Ace held you close to him as you slowly fell asleep lulled by the sound of the chatter of the people dear to you and the warmth of the bonfire.
🍁 Pillow forts 🍁
Ace was a good, amazing older brother who managed to satisfy Luffy's requests in every way. So you weren't shocked when you saw the living room of old Newgate's house transformed into a battlefield with trenches and forts built with cushions and all the foster brothers - even Father - playing war.
You had gone out to get blood drawn, you were only gone for an hour and all this had happened.
You burst out laughing when you saw everyone appear with improvised helmets and helmets and pillows of all kinds to throw as weapons. In short, where did they come from?
But what made you laugh the most was the moment when Izo and Satch took you hostage to make Ace and Luffy's team lose. Needless to say, the two brothers jumped into the fray to pick you up while Marco and Whitebeard laughed heartily.
In the end, many more pillows flew than expected, but nothing broke.
Luffy fell asleep on you, while the others cleaned up the mess that was created.
“It was to keep Luffy calm, he heard us talking about your blood tests and he got worried.” He said Ace then sitting next to you, “How did they go? When will you have the results?” He asked, stroking your hair.
“They went well, Yamato didn't give me a single moment of peace. I'll have them in a couple of days.” You responded by leaning on Ace, the environment of the pillow fort was so comfortable that you felt protected, Ace was there to protect you.
🍁 Thunderstorms 🍁
The first flash had torn the sky and blown you both into the air. Then the downpour started and the force with which the rain hit the windows of your room was enough to keep you awake.
You hugged Ace, unable to sleep anymore. Neither of them liked times like those.
“Tomorrow we may not even go to university.” Ace said showing you the weather alert notification that had come from the university just then.
“It's better this way, tomorrow we had a full day until six in the afternoon.” You said as you got into a sitting position feeling a cramp in your stomach. You got up to go to the bathroom to put away that evening's dinner. Ace behind you holding your hair and rubbing your back.
“Still with this nausea?” He was worried, the tests were slow in arriving and your nausea showed no signs of disappearing.
“Ace will be the period maybe, don't worry I'm not even losing weight.” You told him after rinsing your mouth and tidying up the bathroom.
Another bolt of lightning had illuminated the room and set off the alarms of some cars.
“Text Sabo to see how he, Koala and Luffy are doing.” You had said as you made sure everything was in order in the living room.
“Look at them, all three of them are sleeping in the big bed.” Ace showed you the photo and you smiled.
Other notifications arrived from the other family group and you laughed when you saw what was written. There were those who were taking the oars and the boat.
You got back into the bed, with Ace massaging your stomach to give you some relief: "Do you have your period?" He asked you deep in thought.
“In a couple of weeks why?”
“So, I didn't remember when you were supposed to come.” He replied, smiling at you and leaving a kiss on your cheek.
The storm wouldn't let you sleep, you both knew it, so you both immediately came up with a good idea to pass the time.
🍁 Leaf piles 🍁
The real autumn had now arrived and the evidence was the leaves falling on your driveway. You had piled them up well, they waste the whole morning cleaning up the garden. In fact, you took advantage of the opportunity to prune the flowerbeds and spend time with your friends.
Kid and Law wasted no time competing to see who could remove the most, while Satch and Izo cleaned the gutters with Ace and Marco sat next to you while you repainted the chairs for the outside.
Luffy was arriving at that moment accompanied by Shanks and Makino. So you prepared a good cinnamon tea for everyone, catching Luffy and Ace in time before they threw themselves into the pile of dry leaves that had been collected, you had wasted the day tidying up the garden.
“So it doesn't show any signs of disappearing?” Makino had asked sitting next to you, it wasn't a mystery to anyone that your health wasn't the best at the moment and Ace had talked about it with the woman next to you to get some suggestions.
“No, there are days when I feel better, others when I can't even get up, not to mention the smells. Some perfumes I can't wear anymore.” You said, sipping the hot drink.
A notification from your phone had caught your attention, it was the test results.
Looking at them they all seem to be perfect, so it was quite strange, not even Law was strange looking at them from the phone.
Ace was behind you, he noticed your sad look, so he picked you up and ran towards the large pile of leaves you had collected and jumped into them. You yelped in surprise as the others joined you and you laughed.
Whatever the problem was you would figure it out and Ace was amazing at cheering you up.
🍁 Sharing blankets 🍁
Sharing blankets was a concept that didn't apply easily to the two of you. Or at least you tried to do it the right way, but everything was impossible. Ace moved during the night and his blankets were thrown all over you.
You had all tried them, but there was no way to share them well.
“Yamato moves too much.” You said while you were at the supermarket with your friend.
“Then throw him out of bed.” She had replied, using her height to reach for the pumpkin mixture on the top shelf.
You laughed out loud, thinking that Yamato was right in the end, then you received a notification from Ace showing you a Pail blanket with sleeves that he had just gotten with the message: maybe we can sleep better with this.
You laughed and headed towards the registers to pay, but not before buying some things you wanted at the last moment.
“You should take a test.” Yamato had been trying to convince you for days, ever since you told him about the nausea and so without thinking twice she went into the pharmacy and took a whole pack and put it in your bag. There was no way to argue and in the end you returned home with Ace having joined you shortly after.
“Ace learn to move less, or I would hurt my friend!” She told him Yamato grabbing his cheeks and Ace had responded in kind saying it wasn't her fault.
You said goodbye shortly after and returned home with a giant family pizza to eat in front of the TV. You felt like it as soon as you saw the flyer and so you were able to experiment with the new blanket with sleeves and the pocket to put the remote controls.
Ace was good at choosing blankets so you could stay closer to him.
🍁 Rain showers 🍁
“I'm stuck at dad's house because of these stupid rain showers.” Ace hated being away from you, but in old Newgate's house the tip had collapsed and he and his brothers had gone to repair it, of course the beach didn't help and it was strong again.
“Come on, love, don't worry, it'll be over in a couple of hours.” You reassured him as you opened your bag to empty it. You saw the Test Yamato had given you and now looked at where to put it in the bathroom while you continued talking to Ace.
“Ace, I'll call you back in a moment…” You had abruptly ended the call due to the nausea you felt at that moment. Yet it wasn't early in the morning.
You looked at the test left on the nightstand and mentally called yourself stupid.
You were sure of it, you couldn't be.
The sound of the rain woke you up from your thoughts and that's why you told yourself that to pass the time you would do one.
And while the symbol appeared on the display along with the numbers that would tell you how old you were, you heard the door open and Ace run into the bathroom towards you, wet from head to toe and worried dead after you hadn't called him back.
“Love what happened?” Ace had leaned over to see what you had in your hand, fearing the worst when he suddenly saw you blanch.
“Oh it can't be!” You said turning to him with the positive test in your hand, “Wait it could be a false positive, let's do another one.” You said taking another test and throwing Ace out of the bathroom, yelling at him to get you some pear juice.
Five tests later you were now sure of it.
“It's three months.” You said looking down, now everything was taking a very specific turn.
Ace was next to you, looking at you with a look you couldn't decipher. You knew that he had fears of pregnancy, his mother had died from complications after giving birth and was then given up for adoption by his father, he had always felt guilty about this.
You never expected that he would hug you and whisper those words in your ear: "Don't think who knows what, we will keep him and raise him." His voice was broken by tears.
You both cried, a little happy and a little scared for what was about to await you. But you were happy that Ace wanted to start a family with you, despite the shadows of his past.
🍁 Log cabin 🍁
Gathering all your friends and family in the wooden cabin in the mountains was not easy, at all. It wasn't even easy to keep the secret until then. Because Makino and Yamato had suspected something.
Yet both of you are enjoying everyone's surprised faces.
“Your tests showed none of this.” Law looked at the ultrasound in his hand and passed it to the others. Kid would tease him for months.
“They sent the tests wrong, they confused them with those of another patient.” You responded as you picked Luffy up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. He was the most elated of all. Along with Shanks he couldn't stop laughing.
“Ahhhh how beautiful! I'm so happy for you!” Yamato was over the moon and couldn't stop hugging you. In the end she was right and didn't hold back from saying I told you so.
Satch had fainted, literally fainted on the floor as soon as he heard the news, while Izo and Marco and all of Ace's other adoptive brothers were complimenting the two of you. With lots of jokes that further cheered everyone up.
“Now I can become a grandfather!” Whitebeard laughed, clapping Ace loudly on the shoulder and insisting that you two should move in with him.
“Dad…” Ace couldn't feel his shoulder anymore, but he was happy.
Koala did nothing but cry with happiness and Sabo was overjoyed to become an uncle. The only one who remained perplexed was Grandpa Garp, despite everything the old man was happy for you, but he would have gladly killed his grandson and would have had a very long fist-fighting chat with him.
“Come on Grandpa Garp you have a chance to be an amazing great grandfather.” You told him, taking him by the arm and bringing him closer to the others, in the end he too started laughing and joking with everyone else.
“So is he male or female?” Luffy's curiosity had attracted everyone's attention.
“We'll find out at the next check.” Ace had responded to his little brother by picking him up. Needless to say, more than half the world would participate in that check and the betting would start, you were sure of it.
You and Ace were happy though, despite all the stress you went through in those days and seeing people give you so close to you cheered you up a lot.
“You're about to become parents, I can't do it.” Satch held the ultrasound and smiled.
And as Ace hugged you a new awareness grew in you.
You were happy to have found a boy like him.
You were happy that a new chapter in your life was about to begin.
