Another thing about having watched 2001 for the first time is that it’s been spoofed to absolute oblivion. So many aspects have been referenced culturally or satirized- it’s fun to realize ‘so this is where it’s come from’ but it’s also made the score, which is so iconic and should be breathtaking… laughable.

How many times has the “dun dun” been used for dramatic/funny effect in a kids film?

Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed the movie but it’s sad that portions of it I just absolutely cannot take seriously as it was intended.
