Hey y'all I kinda need help again
I fucked up, made some shitty financial decisions, and also got charged by two different subscriptions services full price for shit I didn't want or need before I could cancel them
Currently sitting at $20 in my account and I can't ask my parents for any more money at this point
Paycheck isn't until the 18th and I CANNOT last that long on just $20 now that I'm paying for my own gas and I work at a job 40 minutes away from my house
I know Ko-fi isn't going to give me shit until a specific date but I really need some kind of help in the meantime while I wait for my paycheck to come through
PayPal will take only a few days to reach me, but I have to do it through my Dad's PayPal since my account is STILL banned for some fucking reason
If you're able to just donate a few dollars, that'd be beyond wonderful
I just need to pay for gas and food at the moment
Please DM me for PayPal

So apparently KOSA (2024 edition) is getting either thrown out until next year or put into effect in six days. That was a guesstimate based on a different person saying that's when Congress is back in session and may be false.
Update that's going in the main post at the top: it has enough support to pass Congress.
It failed the last two times because people were voting against it.
This time, KOSA has traction among the pro-LGBTQ parties. Because nobody is fucking calling their bullshit and screaming from the rooftops that calling it the "Kids Online Safety Act" is misleading.
What will it passing do?
Nothing much, only prevent any education on LGBTQIA+ (it's that stupid fucking argument about us grooming kids again), shut down nearly every fandom space on the internet, and make it required for most big tech companies to have your ID.
Want to have resources for kids to discover their identity readily available? Yes? Then fucking speak up against this stupid fucking bill.
Fandom spaces like Tumblr, Twitter (? I thought the MAGA assholes liked Musk?), Tiktok, Archive Of Our Own, and any other website that hosts fanfic or fanart? Either shut down permanently, forced to uproot to a different country and down for a while (best case scenario, and they likely won't be able to send any data, and therefore fanfics, to the US), or gutted so that you only get to put G rated cishet ships on there, if any shipping at all. How to avoid that? I've already said it: Call your fucking representatives.
Want to avoid the fucking dystopic task of being legally obligated to give big tech your government issue ID? Again, cause an uproar. Call your goddamned representatives.
If they can pass this, the ripple effects could be catastrophic.
So, for fuck's sake, any Americans that can impact this stupid fucking bill and see this? Do everything in your power to shut it down because you have until February twenty sixth (26th) to send this bill back to where it belongs.
And if you can't do that? Reblog, copy my tags, and boost the signal.
Sorry not sorry for ranting, making you scroll through that, and swearing a probably excessive amount, but KOSA is a bill with a GLOBAL IMPACT being passed by ONE COUNTRY because some old people are scared of two guys with who were told they were girls kissing within five hundred miles of a child. Fuck this shit, I shouldn't have to worry about bad bills in America but I fucking do because I use the internet and would like to avoid mass censorship. Fuck this, fuck conservatives, and fuck the fact that some boomers make your country's policies.
Now, if you won't mind me, I'm going to be up until three in the morning downloading fanfiction or copying and pasting them into a a text file if I can't so I can read them by the end of the week.

head over (tar) heels II a.russo x reader
this one goes out to my favourite era (besides boyfriend less ofc) PSA: I’ve never been to an american college :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
head over (tar) heels II a.russo x reader 4.7k words
the first interaction.
"shit." alessia mumbled to herself. anxiously chewing her bottom lip she held the campus map at eye line, tilting it to the side and squinting her eyes as if that might help her magically understand where she needed to go.
lotte and lois having a different class together had already taken off leaving alessia to stumble her way around hopelessly lost, attempting to navigate her way to geology.
the english girl was still relatively new and though given a quick tour on her first day, her american team mates seeming nice enough, she'd hardly had more than a couple rapid fire training sessions to get to know them and had no clue if they shared any classes in common.
homesickness had also meant that most of her spare time where she could have been putting more effort into getting to know them, had been instead consumed with constant phone calls back home, trying to wrap her head around the time difference and gazing longingly at photos of her friends and family. sharp pains shooting through her chest she repeatedly ticked over if such a huge decision had actually been the right one.
quickly checking the time on her phone alessia's stomach tightened into a knot, the blonde looking around in fear as more and more students disappeared into buildings and strode off confidently in all directions. alessia looked on with a sense of envy, her peers clearly knowing where they needed to go.
swallowing her panic alessia took a deep breath to re-ground before shoving the map into her bag, desperate for a solution. spotting a girl who looked potentially around her own age alessia mumbled herself some encouragement before hurrying off after the stranger.
"uh, excuse me!" she called out, panic resurfacing when the girl either heard and ignored her, or had no clue alessia was even actually speaking to her.
then again why would she respond,  a critical element needed to signal you were actually being spoken to was someone knowing and calling out your name.
"sorry, excuse me." alessia reached the stranger, tapping her gently on the shoulder as the girl jumped in surprise, turning quickly and pulling an earphone out.
nice going less, pick someone who can't hear you and then startle her like a creep.
"yes?" you questioned raising an eyebrow expectantly, caught more off guard by the glowing blue orbs you'd now locked eyes with than the actual tap on your shoulder.
"i'm really sorry to bother you but i'm horrible with directions, would you happen to know where chapman hall is?" alessia asked nervously, the wind knocked right out of her chest at the sheer beauty of the girl standing in front of her.
your face softened at the obvious foreign accent and you nodded. "which building are you looking for?" you asked politely, pulling out your other earphone and tucking your phone away into the pocket of your hoodie.
"uh 803 I think."
"geology with smith?" you guessed and alessias eyebrows furrowed, the taller of the two nodding in surprise. "same, we can go together." you sent the girl a dazzlingly reassuring smile, alessia's stomach doing back flips at the sight.
"god i thought i was never going to find it. thank you so much!" alessia sighed in relief, returning you a smile as the two of you set off, now in the right direction.
(which had in fact been the opposite that alessia was originally headed)
"so, british?" you questioned, cringing at yourself for the clearly obvious statement.
"alessia, actually." the blonde beside you joked, sending you a cheeky grin as she held out her hand, the italian unsure where her sudden boost of confidence had appeared from. "y/n, american." you shook her hand, the two of you pausing at your words before laughing, conversation flowing easily as you both made your way across campus.
"do you want me to properly show you around sometime? the place is huge but once you get settled you'll be an expert in no time!" you offered kindly, alessia having just finished telling you about what had brought her here in the first place, how attentive and interested you seemed in her words not lost on her.
"yeah actually that would be great. thanks!"
the realization.
"-and i think she's coming to the game on the weekend with her friends! though i told her she didn't have to cause its an away match and I know she has a load of assignments. but she's so smart she hardly even has to try, unlike me. i swear without her notes i'm gonna fail geology. but who even needs geology!" alessia rambled on, so focused packing her kit bag for an early training session tomorrow she missed the knowing smirk exchanged between her english team mates.
"so less tell us exactly when are you asking her out then?" lois asked quite casually, alessia tripping and falling head first into her bag she was so caught off guard at the question, lotte shooting up to help the blonde back to her feet.
"what?" alessia spluttered out, still in a state of shock as she peeled away the socks from her face.
"less, mate. you clearly like the girl, just ask her out!" lotte bumped her team mates shoulder supportively before sitting back down on the bed beside lois who nodded eagerly in agreement.
"i do not! we're just friends, don't make it weird." alessia mumbled, busying herself with unpacking and refolding her already neatly folded training kit.
"less, it's okay if you do like her. she's all you talk about half the time! plus the way your face lights up whenever she's around, it's a special thing to see." lotte tried again, smiling reassuringly at the younger girl who frowned sliding down onto the floor, uniform still in her hands as her head softly thumped back against her mattress of the bed behind her.
"her face lights up too! i don't think it's one sided. the two of you hang out all the time, sometimes it feels like you prefer her company over your own teammates!" lois teased with a grin, alessia's cheeks flushing a rosy pink as she shoved her uniform back into her bag, pulling her knees to her chest with a troubled sigh.
"how do you even know when you like someone...like that. not to say i do like her!" alessia was quick to correct, pointing a finger sternly toward the girls across from her who nodded. "well, when you're around her, you feel happy right?" lois started, alessia nodding, eyebrows still knitted into a frown.
"i feel like that when i see any of my friends lois." alessia answered bluntly, lois looking toward lotte to continue, the girl being the one everyone would go to for any sort of advice, wise beyond her years.
"when you guys aren't together, do you still speak? like message and stuff a lot of the time?" lotte questioned as alessia nodded in confirmation. "and when you aren't together, do you miss her? wish you were still hanging out?" alessia gave yet another nod at the question, this one a little more hesitant.
"what's something you like about her?" "well she's really really kind, and passionate, and she actually listens when someone speaks. like properly invested in the conversation, makes her easy to talk to." alessia answered honestly, eyes moving to gaze up towards the roof as she crossed her arms over her chest, legs thumping back down to the ground.
"okay, now I just want you to tell me the first thing that pops into your head yeah?" lotte encouraged softly, alessia nodding along in understanding, eyes still trained toward the roof.
"how do you feel around her? other than happy." "i don't know, sort of light headed i guess?" alessia answered with a small frown and an uncertain shrug.
"what's her favourite colour?" "green, like a forest green."
"biggest strength?" "she reads what people need really well."
"what's her major?" "social science."
"what's her first class tomorrow?" "ethics."
"first thing you notice about her?" "smile."
"thing you miss when she isn't there?" "her laugh."
"and where would you like to kiss her?" "on the lips."
a sudden somewhat suffocating silence filled the small dorm room. a beat of time passed before alessia jolted upright, eyes widening in shock as she registered how casually the last answer had slipped out, lotte sending her a knowing smile.
"jesus christ lot if this football thing doesn't work out, you could be like a love expert or something..." lois spluttered out as she looked to the girl beside her in awe who simply shrugged.
"and that less is how you know you like someone."
the first kiss.
"-and that second goal what a rocket! poor keeper never stood a chance you just booted it!" you rambled excitedly, alessia laying down on her bed watching you reenact the goal with a soft smile, giggling as you kicked a throw pillow across the floor.
just over a month had passed now since the realization that alessia did in fact like you a lot more than she thought, and not as just a close friend. ever since then her feelings toward you seemed to grow more by the day, and in turn she began to pay closer attention to all of the small habits and traits that made you you.
like the way the corner of your eyes would crinkle when you smiled, tiny dimples appearing in each cheek. or the way you'd always put your hand over your mouth when you laughed, and need to be reminded to breathe in amongst your giggles, the tips of your ears flushing bright red.
or the way the tip of your tongue would poke through the small gap in your teeth when you concentrated, biting down on your bottom lip with a confused frown when stuck on a particularly hard question.
the way you'd frequently go on passionate tangents about all sorts of things, only stopping yourself from speaking once you realized you were on a tangent, your cheeks flushing rosy pink and a hasty apology issued shortly after, which alessia made sure to consistently promise you wasn't needed.
alessia knew your regular coffee order off by heart, often meeting you before or after class with the iced drink at the ready, stomach doing cartwheels at the way your eyes lit up every time she would.
the way you paid close attention when she explained the actual rules of football to you after the first time you came to watch one of her games, asking her all the right questions and seeming genuinely interested in her answers. your determined commitment to best understand what was her passion in life only making alessia grow more fond of you.
it spurred her on to play her best football when she knew you were in the crowd watching. which was practically every game you could, even dragging your friends to accompany you most of the time.
alessia had even picked up the habit of a regular celebration whenever she scored, something she'd never bothered with at any other time in her career, adoring how it meant she could hear your laughter ring out across the field at the goofy pose. the blonde well aware she was embarrassing herself, that came second to the sense of pride and satisfaction felt in making you smile.
by nature you'd always been quite an affectionate person around your friends, growing up in a family and a household where it lacked meant you sought physical touch amongst others. so it wasn't uncommon for your legs to be sprawled across alessia's lap, or for you to reach for her hand and mess around with her fingers during quiet lapses in conversation.
nor was it uncommon for alessia's arm to be draped comfortably across the back of your shoulder blades, or your hands messing around with her hair as her head laid in your lap. you could easily spend hours doing and undoing tiny plaits in her long blonde locks to keep yourself occupied whilst helping the english girl study.
which unbeknownst to you, did quite the opposite as alessia's heart would hammer away in her chest at your touch. letters jumbled with one another as she attempted to read through your notes, often requesting you read them to her given that she couldn't focus on anything else but you.
but then came her lack of confidence to actually confess any of these feelings to you. the strikers painstakingly obvious swooning and doing all she could to gain your attention and affections was easily noticed by her teammates and friends, obvious to everyone it seemed but to you.
"okay my celebration did not look like that!" alessia defended herself as you broke out into a victory dance, kicking the throw pillow into alessia's closet which had become your decided temporary goal. "oh but it did, I even got it on video." you grinned, collapsing beside the older girl on her bed and pulling out your phone. clicking into the video it did indeed confirm alessia's fears, she looked like her dad when he had one too many and busted a move.
"delete that right now! there needs to be not a shred of evidence." alessia shook her head, reaching for your phone as you quickly clicked it off. "absolutely not." you grinned with a firm shake of your head.
"it's going right into my 'things to blackmail alessia with once she's a big famous soccer player' folder." you teased, the taller girl rolling her eyes.
"football." she corrected, squeezing at your cheeks as you playfully smacked away her hands. "soccer." you argued in the same mocking tone, poking at her nose. "one last chance to say it's football." alessia warned, your forehead creasing in confusion. "or wha-" you didn't even have time to finish your sentence before the question was answered for you, the english girls slender fingers digging into your side.
"lessi!" you squealed, wriggling and bucking your body trying to evade her but it was a fruitless task given the small king single bed you were both occupying. meaning very minimal space was available for you to move away from her without falling down to the floor.
"okay okay okay, football!" you all but yelled, shoving the striker away from you as you sunk into the mattress, chest heaving up and down struggling to catch your breath back. "I hate you." you wheezed out, kicking at her as your arm fell to cover your flushed face.
"no you don't, you could never." alessia teased with a grin, tugging your arm off of your face causing you to roll onto your side, the two of you now in very close proximity. seeing you so up close only made alessia's heart harder and faster in her chest, close enough for her to count the freckles that dotted across your tanned face, all thanks to the harsh carolina sun.
time seemed to slow as alessia shamelessly stared, her watchful gaze scanning across all of the tiny features which made you, well you. her eyes then met yours as if asking permission she lent in a tiny bit to test the waters, and when you didn't immediately recoil her body took over, silencing the screaming doubts and alarm bells ringing loudly in her head.
her warm lips met with yours, the kiss short but sweet as she pulled away eyes widening in shock at what she'd just done, reality had set in. but before she could utter out the apology which was stuck in her throat, you spoke first.
"finally russo, I've been waiting for you to do that." "what!"
meeting her family.
"gio promise me that you won't be a dick!" alessia sternly warned her older brother, the boy having come to visit and stay with her for a few weeks amid his travels. "less please. i'll be on my best behavior, scouts honor!" the older italian smiled charmingly, the two of them crammed into the makeshift campus bar, everyone having gathered together to watch one of the largest basketball matches of the college season against their rival school Duke.
"that's her over there." lotte interrupted, pointing you out where you sat at a table toward the back surrounded by your own group of friends, laughing at something one of them had said. "mum was right she is gorgeous. what's she dating you for?" gio teased, staring at his younger sister whose face twisted into a glare, punching his arm at the comment.
"well, best not waste time then!" gio clapped his sister on the back, grabbing a beer he was offered before striding off in your direction, alessia doing the same and hurrying after him, lotte and some of her other team mates in tow. "lessi, hi!" you cheered happily as you spotted her, grinning as you stared up towards the taller girl whose nerves melted away somewhat at the sight, noticing you were clearly already a little tipsy.
greeting your friends she exchanged hugs with some of them she knew quite well, introducing her brother as lotte pulled you aside and into a hug, making your own way around greeting alessia's friends as the two groups merged into one, everyone hollering in anticipation as the buzzer sounded and the game commenced on the tv's scattered around the room.
eventually, after you'd finished making your rounds with your girlfriends team mates you ended up in front of her brother. alessia's world then suddenly seemed to freeze, stuck temporarily in conversation with a few of her friends across the other side of the table, contemplating quite literally jumping over it to come to your aid.
but it seemed that wasn't necessary as with only a few words exchanged between you and her brother both parties laughed and gio pulled you into a friendly hug, sitting down and busying you in conversation as alessia let out a deep exhale she hadn't realized she was even holding in.
"see, worried your pretty little head off for nothing. it's fine! relax and have a drink, lets go Heels!" lotte finished with a scream, holding up her beer as everyone around her echoed the chant, raising their own drinks in cheers.
~
"i think i might have a new favourite russo now, sorry babe." you later teased the blonde, sat on her lap as the game counted down its final minutes, her arms wrapped tightly around your torso.
"well you're only human." gio winked, clinking his beer against yours as alessia gently pinched at your thigh for the comment, her jacket draped around your shoulders.
suddenly the bar exploded into an electric scream as the final buzzer sounded, signaling that UNC had won. it was the first time you'd conquered your rivals in two years you happily informed gio, who looked around in confusion as the bar suddenly emptied, everyone running out hollering and cheering in packs.
"it's a campus tradition, everyone runs onto main street and they start a bonfire!" one of alessia's team mates informed as the table all stood to their feet, alessia making sure to keep a tight hold on your hand as both of you were hustled out of the bar and into the crisp autumn air by the large horde of drunken fans.
"this is the weirdest tradition ever. all of this over a college basketball game!" gio laughed in disbelief as he filmed the chaos interrupting around you all, him and lotte running alongside you and alessia as cheers and singing broke out amongst the huge crowd of college students sprinting wildly in all directions.
"quick, let's go Heels!" lotte drunkenly shouted at the top of her lungs, yourself joining in with her as you dropped your girlfriends hand, launching yourself onto lotte as the girl sprinted off with you in a piggyback.
"be careful please!" alessia shouted after the two of you with a face splitting grin, cheeks flushed rose pink, a combination of the alcohol she'd consumed and the sudden temperature change now standing outdoors.
"i've never seen you like this." gio smiled toward his younger sister, the two of them now pushing their way through the crowd. "what do you mean?" alessia laughed, glancing over at him before standing up on tippy toes to try and spot you or lotte.
"like this. so happy and care free, grinning like a bloody cheshire cat. we were a bit worried you'd come running right back home with all the calls after you first left, but then they stopped and now i think i can somewhat see why." gio laughed, nodding toward where the taller boy could see you and lotte, having linked up with some more of your friends just a little way deeper into the crowd.
"she's not the only reason i like it here!" alessia's cheeks deepened in color, catching onto what her brother was insinuating. "no but she contributes to it, and that's not something you've had before. it's nice!" gio smiled sincerely, alessia wrapping him into a hug.
"but luca and I do have a bet going on how long it'll be before she realises she's out of your league and moves onto someone else. so if you could accelerate that to...before january, i'd be ten pound richer!" her brother smirked, alessia shaking her head and shoving him away playfully as he messed up her hair.
"you couldn't just let us have a lovely moment, could you?" "that's not what brother's are for, you should have learnt that by now."
pre match traditions.
"there, all done." you bent down to peck your girlfriends cheek as you finished braiding her hair.
seeing her struggle and offering to do it once early on in your friendship had quickly turned into it being a match day tradition between the two of you, alessia quite superstitious when it came to big games.
and today, her junior championship final, was the big game.
"thank you. checklist?" the older girl sighed, pushing herself up using your knees as leverage from where she sat between your legs on the floor, grabbing her kit bag.
"socks, shin guards, boots, water bottle, finger tape, spare socks, chewing gum, deodorant, perfume, dry shampoo, back up water bottle, yellow gatorade, protein bar." you ticked off using your fingers, alessia humming in confirmation at each object as she located it, zipping her bag up and placing it back on your floor.
"what if i miss a sitter and it's my fault we lose?" the blonde collapsed onto her back on the bed beside you, burying her face in her hands. "you won't. it's okay to be nervous but with soccer you can't afford to dwell on all the what if's...a certain little birdy told me that." you gently pried the girls hands away, interlocking your fingers and pressing a gentle kiss to the pad of her thumb.
"football." alessia corrected, unable to help the smile that grew on her face at your words. "come here." the striker was quick to pull you on top of her, your legs straddling her hips as you leant your forehead against hers. "hi." you smiled sweetly, pecking her lips and attempting to sit up but a strong pair of arms wrapped around your back, pressing your body tightly against the one beneath you.
"give me a proper kiss." the older girl whined, lip jutting out into a pout as you rolled your eyes but obliged none the less, quickly pulling away as you felt her tongue slip into your mouth.
"no. you need to go soon! it's almost 3." you giggled, squeezing your girlfriends cheeks before unwrapping her arms from around you and sitting up.
"but it's a pre match tradition that you make out with me, so..." alessia grinned, hands clawing needily at her spare jersey which hung off your smaller frame, attempting to pull you back down.
"which is why we've already made out, twice now to be exact. you need to go! baby i'm not being picked on by your teammates as the reason you're late for warm ups, again." you rolled your eyes, grabbing the girls wandering hands as they slipped up the inside of your shirt, nails scratching gently against your bare skin.
"they know full well if they tried to pick on you they'd have me to deal with." alessia rolled her eyes, hands coming to rest on your bare thighs sat either side of her. "ooo so scary." you mocked with a teasing grin placing your own hands on her cheeks, thumbs softly caressing her jaw as you leant down and stole another quick kiss before rolling off of her.
"go!" you pointed sternly towards your door, alessia standing to her feet with an over dramatic groan. "fine!"
"i'll see you out there superstar." you shared a tight hug before you opened your door, the excited chatter of your peers filling the room. "i'll be the one in blue holding the trophy." alessia grinned, grabbing your waist to pull you in for one final kiss.
"now there's that russo confidence, go heels!"
her first championship.
"come on, one last push go heels!" you screamed at the top of your lungs, voice raw and practically gone after how tense the game had been, your friends echoing the same chant beside you as the whistle finally blew, the crowd erupting as your girlfriend sprinted to join the team pile on in the middle of the field.
she did it, she'd won her first american junior college championship.
"let's fucking go number nineteen!" you screamed with pride as alessia's name was called, the girl stepping up to receive her hat and medal at the presentation. cupping your hands over your mouth and hollering proudly, alessia's brothers who sat the row in front of you joined in, her parents turning around to shoot you elated grins.
you chatted away happily with your friends about the game as you waited for alessia to have her moment with her team and the trophy, taking dozens of photos before making her way over to her family who stood to the side, tears filling their eyes as hugs and congratulations were shared.
"i think this mean's you've reached ultimate wag status now." your best friend teased, bumping her shoulder with yours as you made your way down the stadium steps and onto the pitch, rolling your eyes at the comment.
you promised to catch up with them later as your friends headed off to congratulate the rest of the team, alessia making the same promise to her family before the two of you made a beeline for one another.
"champions!" you cheered loudly as the blonde picked you up with ease, your legs wrapping around her waist as the two of you tightly clung onto one another, alessia twirling you around a couple times before placing you back on the ground.
"i'm so proud of you." you smiled sincerely, tugging her into a short but searing kiss, pulling away all too quickly for your girlfriends liking, though in such a public setting you hardly wanted her parents to see you with their daughters tongue shoved down your throat.
"you know i never thought i was into girls with backwards hats, but this is doing it for me." you nodded, gesturing playfully to the championship snap back adorning your girlfriends head. "oh really? good to know." alessia smirked pulling you in for another kiss, unable to wipe the grin off of her face at the feeling of sheer euphoria currently pumping through her veins.
her words from before had come true, here she could be seen in blue, holding the trophy. only the piece of silverware from the game sat in the hands of her coach who stood on the other side of the field. unbeknownst to you, the trophy in her hands was you, the blonde firmly determined never to let that change.
"i love you." alessia blurted out suddenly, the three words having been dancing on the tip of her tongue for a few weeks now, too scared to let them slip at the wrong time and scare you away. "i love you." you immediately echoed back with a laugh, the complete lack of doubt in your response only further fueling alessia's body with unbridled joy.
it was plain to be seen that you both had fallen sweetly, irreversibly and to some nauseatingly head over heels in love with one another.

“What, the hell, are you doing, Ryusei?” Baji aggressively whispered.
“C’mon it’s fiine! All I did was invite her out with us!” The taller boy laughed. “It’s not like you have anything to hide anymore.” He grinned pointedly at his blonde friend, who bashfully looked away. “I already apologized, damnass..” Chifuyu muttered.
Baji clicked his tongue in annoyance, fussing with the back of his head in agitation. “Whatever. Arcade is canceled.” Baji waved off, leaving no room for discussion. “What!” Replied a displeased grunt.
“I was looking forward to going, though.” You announced with crossed arms. “And stop trying to disinclude me, it’s very rude!”
“You act like you got any say in the matter, shorty.” Baji waved your attitude off with a huff. He really was stubborn, acting this way. “Last time I checked I can make my own decisions, Keisuke.” You rolled your eyes at him, linking arms with Chifuyu.
“Cancel yourself if you’re gonna be a prude,” you gave Baji a teasing smile. “But Arcade and Karaoke sounds like a great way to spend my Saturday night.”
Baji became stunned at your blatant shots against him, mouth agape at your new demeanor. “That’s right!~ Pizza’s on me!” Ryusei laughed in reply, draping his arm around your shoulders; lazily observing his captain’s next actions.
Baji tensed up at this notion. “That’s not what I meant..!” He spat, giving an exasperated sigh. “Whatever, what the hell.” Baji finally returned the teasing grin, dropping his glasses into the pocket of his shirt. “Looks like I get to school you in something for a change.”
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯✦
Once Baji finally came around, the day out went fantastic.
Chifuyu and Ryusei would get into an altercation every so often, but your blank stare paired with Baji’s threatening one seemed to keep the two in check.
“How are you so good at pin ball?” Chifuyu marveled at Ryusei’s high score. “I’m good at everything Chifuyu~” Ryusei bragged before settling you forward. “Your turn, pretty girl. Let’s see what you got.”
Blushing over the use of this overly affectionate nickname, you shrugged. “I don’t think I’ve played this before,” you admitted, checking the machine for all its buttons. “The concept is easy enough, I guess.”
Baji subtly pushed Ryusei, glaring. “Watch it,” he whispered to the other. “Make her uncomfortable and you die.” He spoke like a promise.
Ryusei readjusted how close he stood next to you, embarrassed at how clueless he felt. Ryusei’s own crush on you was slipping, and as oblivious as Baji was to signals, the overall closeness between you two was making his blood boil. “Sorry boss,” Ryusei whispered.
You’d been distracted by the game and Chifuyu’s little tips and tricks, he hovered his finger above the glass. “This tunnel gets you a bunch of points, so try aiming there!”
Smiling sweetly at Chifuyu’s innocent grin, you elbowed him affectionately. “Thanks chi! Here I go!” You hyped yourself up, putting in the token.
It took a little bit of trial and error, but before long, you were scoring higher and higher numbers, seemingly never losing the pin ball. “No way!” Chifuyu laughed with a huge grin.
“You’re freaking awesome, Y/n!”
The blonde’s praise boosted your ego, a wider grin setting in. “Check this,” you grinned back, flicking the nozzle just right to trap the pin ball, earning an overarching highscore.
“No shit!” Baji howled, ruffling your hair in praise. “Look’t that, new high score. The hell can’t you do?!” You embraced his words, leaning into his hand. “I wanna try that next,” you pointed, crossing the boys’ gaze across the arcade.
MORTAL KOMBAT2
All three of them smirked. A fighting game. How ironic.
The four of you blazed past all the games, winning more than most and poking fun against eachother failures. Ryusei’s car racing skills was no joke. Chifuyu had a sharp eye for point and shoot games, and of course Baji’s favorite, were fighting games. (despite being his favorites, he didn’t seem to not be very good at them)
“THIS IS BULLSHIT!” He shoved the machine backwards, earning some nervous glances. “I totally—-!” Baji yelled, turning to complain further, but halted at your quirked brow, apparently amused.
Chifuyu noticed Baji’s wordless response, face turning red with frustration from losing his seventh round of MK2. “I’m hungry! Ryusei, treat us to pizza!” Chifuyu distracted the group, for his captain’s sake.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯✦
The night’s escapades came to an end after long, the four of you laughing in unison.
“Thanks for inviting me out guys, it was really fun!”
Ryusei chuckled and wrapped his arm playfully around your shoulders, pulling you into him. “You’re the one who made the outing fun, princess~ Really surprised me with that death metal voice though.”
You laughed, clearing your strained voice. “I admire many music genres! Metal happens to be particularly entertaining!”
Chifuyu failed in attempt to hide a laugh.
“Your genre tastes sure are interesting, y/n!”
Baji seemed to recall something suddenly. “Speaking of, I just finished Volume 12 for Berserk, mind if I trade off for Volume13?” He asked you, earning a gasping reply. “You were supposed to finish NaNa! No more trade offs until you’ve gotten through what you already have!”
“Everyone, heads up!~” Ryusei flipped out a cell phone, amused.
“Come on boys, let’s take a photo to commemorate our Triple Date~” he declared jokingly, earning a harsh ‘ehh?!’ from Baji— and a wide grin from Chifuyu’s huddled closer form.
The photo encapsulated was a little dark and a little blurry, but clear enough to make out your confused face being pushed cheek-to-neck with Ryusei, Chifuyu’s bashful grin to the right of you, holding up a peace sign. And, slightly in the background, captured Baji mid-yell, canines full on display.
The photo Ryusei took, and kept as his cell phone background.
The photo that got you wrapped up in this whole mess.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯✦
June21st, 2004
“Who’s the girl, Ryusei?” Kojiro spoke menacingly quiet.
“Is she your friend? Really?” He scoffed, eyes flaring when he swung his fist against Ryusei’s cheekbone again.
“Thought that little tramp was Baji’s girl. You’re telling me you’ve been friends with her this whole fucking time?!”
He yelled, pulling white hair tightly.
“No…” he narrowed into Ryusei’s crying face, alone and vulnerable with no one but Kojiro for witness.
“No… that’s right.” Kojiro smiled.
“You were never friends. You’ve been planning this for a while; right?” Kojiro cradled the injured boy in his hands lovingly.
“You were never friends. You were getting her to trust you. Nothing more.” He cooed.
“You always were the more charming of us two in that regard, I suppose.”
“So tell me, Ryusei. Who is Y/n L/n to Baji Keisuke?”

Hello! I love your art and I had a few questions for the Swannie AU you have created. I have a lot so I separated them into sections if that helps.
Inventing at the Lake
1: In your April comic, she mentions a bracelet project and I don't think it has been mentioned again yet so... what is it and does it get added to the ensemble upon completion?
2: Aside from the directly mentioned bracelet, what else has Dee created?
3: Does Dee still create things for his brothers and if he does, does he just forget why it was made until he has a good day?
April Specific
4: What does April and Dee do when he has a really good memory day rather than just a nonviolent day?
The Birthday Fight
5: After the birthday fight, does Dee have a slightly more aggressive reaction to Lee on bad memory days?
6: Since Donnie won't remember said fight, does Leo try to celebrate their b-day again (without lying about the date) or does he decided to just not celebrate until they have Dee back?
6: Have any of the brothers visited when the board was destroyed and if so how did they react? (Espically Nardo if he saw it after that fight.)
Gifts and Holidays
7: Have any of the brothers baught gifts for Dee? If so, how would he react? Would they leave it at the edge of the lake if it is an aggressive day?
8: The last comic mentioned that a birthday had passed without Dee recognizing Leo. How have other holidays gone such as Christmas and New Years (being the first ones that came to mind)?
I know Swanatello started as a joke sona, but I think that your world creation is outstanding, especially since you mentioned that you tent to come up with answers on the spot. I may have been taking notes for my own AU world creation and the questions some readers could have. I hope you continue creating because your art is truly inspiring. Thank you and have a nice day. :)
Ahh thank you! ; w ; Answers are under the cut because it's a little long.
This is now answered! :D
He's mostly been working on the Research Board and on trying to figure out how the magick of the lake works and how he could reverse it. He's also been working on a generator so he can more reliably have electricity out here, as well as something that could boost signals so they could get reception at the lake.
He does when he's able! Most of them right now are very small things, as he currently struggles with any large projects given his memory issues. Anything he makes right now, ideally, should be able to be finished within a day or less. It is currently very easy for him to stray off-task or get distracted or sidelined, given that a majority of the time he's not able to fully understand the purpose, nuances, or importance of his 'main projects.' Some days he simply doesn't understand why he would want to work on a dumb research board that doesn't even make sense to him when he could make something badass for his family instead, or go do lake shit. And the research board will still be there later, right? As a result of the above, he has a ton of half-finished projects squirreled away that are intended as gifts for his brothers, but that he wasn't able to complete before he forgot and then later couldn't identify, or projects that he DID complete, but he then forgot about it before he was ever able to gift them to their intended recipient, so now he just... has them, and isn't really sure why.
Leo was terrified of this, but he really doesn't. It's really like it never even happened. Donnie doesn't seem to remember it at all or hold any resentment or ill will towards Leo in the least, and it's honestly almost worse. Donnie doesn't remember what happened, so Leo can't really apologize to him for it, or talk about it with him, or make proper amends. He almost wishes that Donnie WOULD hold a grudge over it so he didn't have to feel so... guilty. But he doesn't.
Leo just decides to let it go and wait for their next birthday, and hope that the next one is better. Trying to celebrate this one, now, feels wrong somehow.
Since the board was destroyed and Donnie relied on it in some ways to aid him with his memory issues, there is a gap between Leo's visit and the next time Donnie is able to recognize one of them enough to not chase them away. About a week and some change. It's Raph who finds the board, and it sort of helps him realize why things have been the way they have been lately, which is... a relief, kind of? But also it's heartbreaking, and it kills him to think that Donnie was hurting so bad and that he wasn't around to help. Not that Donnie understands now what happened to the board or even what its significance is... But that's okay. Raph focuses on comforting Donnie that day, because so much progress has been undone and he's confused and scared, and calmly helps him to rebuild the basic foundations of the board. And they all slowly help him repair it day-by-day after that.
They bring Donnie gifts all the time! Anything from tool kits to books to research documents to stim toys to food to clothing are on the table. If it's an aggressive day, they'll just wait for a day when he recognizes them to give it to him, because they can't really trust that he'll find and accept things that they leave, and they want to be around to make sure he understands what it is and that things are alright. There have been times that they've brought him gifts-- an old blanket, a hoodie, a drawing from Mikey-- and it ends up tripping something in his brain or triggering a memory and ends up leaving him in a very fragile emotional state. It's not always a bad thing, but sometimes he won't realize anything is wrong with his current situation until he's presented with a stuffed toy from their childhood, and then it all hits him. They've realized it's much better if they're around should something like this happen so they can help explain things and provide support.
He's missed quite a few holidays. When they can, they'll come celebrate with him. For Christmas, for example, everyone who visited around that time explained to him that it was Christmas (even if it wasn't the actual day) and they did their best to celebrate, depending on Donnie's current emotional state at the time and what that allowed for. There was some gift-exchanging (Donnie was devastated he didn't have anything prepared to give back!!!!!!), some candy-and-cookie consuming, some snow-ball-fighting, and some Nutcracker-dancing. But overall, the entire thing was bittersweet, because they were so limited in what they could do to celebrate and they all knew Donnie almost certainly wouldn't remember any of the things they did together. The holiday felt very hollow without him home with them.
Ahhhh thank you ; w ; THATS SO SWEET,,, AND MAKES ME HAPPY,,, I AM GLAD YOU ENJOY IT,,,,

I dunno man, I think people here are detached from actual history and knowledge of how things work and just tend to ping-pong between whatever the tumblr zeitgeist has decided is the "trendy" position of the week. Like, there's this whole culture of holding up this as a more "enlightened" base than elsewhere, but from what I've seen, it's all the same reactionary, unexamined shit you see anywhere else, just tied up in a prettier bow. S'why I don't tend to do much more than try to signal boost helpful posts or actionable stuff instead of getting so deep down the rabbit hole of discourse that I can't see that I've managed to backtrack up my own ass.

Sooo currently obsessed with the realization that live action Thomas Curry is played by Tem, who also plays Boba Fett.
Meaning I can connect the universes through canon lore.
Tumblr media
Aka Thomas Curry is a clone deserter who managed to get to Earth without being caught thanks to Earth being located in Wild Space.
Now you may be asking, what about the accelerated aging of the clone troopers which make them age about 3 years in one? Well I say fuck that canon and submit my own head canon that the reason they aged so rapidly after coming out od the cloning pods is because of hormones and chemicals laced in the Ration Bars specifically made for the Clone Troopers from Kamino. So a clone who has stopped eating them for a while slows down their aging to normal means.
Now back to my point- this means Arthur Curry is the son of a clone and an Atlantean, which helps explain why he is so fucking more then most atlanteans outside of just because he is royal blood and a hero. Cause Jango Fett is a hienz 57 thanks to the GFFA policy of humans fucking anything vaguely (and sometimes not) humanoid looking and I'm pretty sure he counts and primarily near-human instead of full human. Especially given some of the mutations and defects that possibly popped up during the cloning process. (Also pretty sure the Fetts were already mandos just ya know farmers before Death Watch fucked shit up. So there is also him being a heinz cause Mandos in fanon (and possibly canon) will fuck who ever didn't manage to kill them. Plus Fanon likes Mandos being not primarly human, so theres also that.)
So Arthur has a little extra boost with that and the fact that the troopers are Genetically Altered Super Soldiers. Therefore some traits can possibly pass to offspring. Not all cause it's more conditioning but his body would be predisposed to gain muscle and have stronger bones, better constitution and just stronger then average human.
Now what if Thomas manged to get a signal out to any other surviving clones or deserters? Arthur grows up with a bunch of near identical uncles (and aunts for the few Sisters amongst the Brothers) who have insane stories, odd names, a wide arrange of skills and secret stash of armor. Also who train in their spare time cause paranoia.
The JL find out about his extended family during something like the Reach invasion or something. Omg possibly fucking robots. Arthur like "Oh I know some specialists."
And calls in his dad and family.

Seeking FFXIV blogs
I’m looking for more ffxiv blogs to follow, especially writers or folks who like doing things like lore discussion/meta, ask/tag games, or post fanfic!
Please reblog or signal boost if you have these interests, or have followers in the ffxiv fandom who might! I really miss having this kind of thing on my dash and mutuals with similar interests to shout with, and haven’t been able to find much of it on my own in the fandom. Which is sad :(
Any ffxiv lore, if you like eorzea or garlemald or scions or the reflections or the ascians, it’s all good
Any ships - you can be a thancred simp or a zenos fucker its fine. I especially would love to find fellow aymeric, haurchefant, emet, and x’ruhn people to follow but all ships are valid!
Any genre - slice of life, AUs, romance, whump, tragedy, variety is the spice of life!
Tag your shit - if your blog is the wild west and you reblog 15 vaguely aggressive things at once expressing your rage at government, turtles, or karaoke, and there’s no specific tag from you I can block to filter it, I will get stressed and have to unfollow you
No callouts - I wont follow blogs that target other users, attack specific ships, or generally seem to enjoy stirring up drama. I’m here to fan over the characters, not police fandom

Raz knows two things, computers - and that people can't be trusted. However on the run, and with the head of the Russian mob seeking to put her back in a cage Raz must quickly decide if Emet Shultz of the FBI can be trusted, and if he can help her unlock the treacherous secrets of her past. As the past reveals itself, one thing becomes clear- nothing is as it seems, and sometimes lies are easier to stomach than the truth.
Ethereal Mischief: Book one of the EM Trilogy (complete)
Summary: Okay, really. Who expects to be murdered on their birthday? Definitely not Althea; and especially not by a god straight out of mythology. Hades however, is real and hell bent on using Althea as a tool to fulfill his own desires. From her own identity to her mother’s death, Hades reveals that her entire life has been a carefully constructed lie. In a world where a broken promise can lead to a lifetime of debt, Althea must fight against those who seek to control her.
Divine Intervention: Book two of the EM Trilogy (also complete but first draft)
Summary: Dealing with the reality that mythology is NOT in fact myth was one thing. Dealing with the fact that her dead mother was NOT in fact dead- but a goddess, and very much alive was another. Now Althea has new problem. As real as the Greek God of pantheons has become, she is suddenly dragged into a deep feud between the Greek and Norse pantheon, when twin girls show up on her doorstep half dead and desperate to get home. Will Althea be able to help them? Or will helping them only push her further down the path to madness?
A World Apart (in progress)
Summary: Ya Fantasy novel split between the lives of two young women in parallel dimensions (urban fantasy YA).
Legends of Taelaec (completed)
Summary: High fantasy story about young girls discovering who they truly are after the tragic and sudden death of their mother (high fantasy).

'I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DELETE OTHER PEOPLE'S REBLOGS OF MY STUFF THAT HAD BAD/BORING TAKES.'
Bitchcakes, this is So Not How It Works. Reblogs are riffs, dialogues, not just someone else boosting your signal. You wanna fucking grow your tumblr? Fucking engage.
Take those boring takes for the straight lines they are and start delivering punchlines. Converse. Riff.
FUCKING JAM.
Reblog other people's shit with the same intent. This is the dialogue and flow.
But quit reblogging and reblogging the same twenty posts of nothing but your own content and refusing to interact with anyone who actually touches your stuff enough to leave a mark on it. Reads like an actor who just keeps refusing to admit there's more people onstage than just themselves. And it's boring as hell for folks by the tenth reblog cycle (yes folks, I know I'm guilty of that one too).

I Have to Put the Project Into Hibernation Due to Lack of Time and Assistance
Hello everyone, HandspikeAuthor here, the Equiquest lead person, and I'm having some issues right now!
I've keep up on Equiquest for almost a full year now as a project remastering a fanventure I did over 10 years ago, and you guys have been nice and receptive to it, and I'm so happy the work I put in back then is still enjoyed.
However, I can't keep up anymore like I was able to! Different things are occupying my time in ways they weren't before, and all my creative projects are suffering for it. I have also been asking people to join on the creative team and help out. A few great people have done so and made this project even better, but out of the 713 pages drawn for Equiquest, I would say over 600 were done by myself and for a long stretch I wanted to keep making 3 per day on my own. But, well, oops
I'm going to just stop demanding more out of myself than I can keep up with and focus harder on the creative aspects that are sort of popping off for me currently while managing my dayjob health shit. So, officially, I'm not working on Equiquest.
However, if I got enough support and could get the volunteer art crew team built up to like 4-6 people (OVER THE AGE OF 18 PLEASE MINORS STAY OUT OF THE TEAM DISCORD I MEAN IT I'M LIKE 30 NOW) who think they could do a couple pictures every week, I think I could manage keeping this thing going. If I receive encouragement, I'm going to weigh different art priorities differently, right? And the overall goal has always been to eventually go past where the old, broken, outdated shittier one ended and be able to write new material by committee and just have a lot of fun with things, it can still be possible. I'd be honored if you were interested, or signal boosting this post, or just sending a little "yo this story was fire I hope you get back to it" our way. Thank you for your readership, and pray for good things in the future! Now if you excuse me, I got a nap to take

Chapter 2: Safe with Me
Tumblr media
Approx. 4,000 words; 25 minute read.
“You! Stop moving!” Shit. Fetch tsked softly and slid her butt to the floor, sitting down and raising her hands in front of her in a show of cooperation and surrender. But her eyes were narrowed and hard, her body language not hiding the fight in her eyes. As the guard moved his attention to someone else, Fetch slowly placed her hands on the floor, the tiles cool beneath her palms. Her position wasn’t far off from where she wanted to be in the room and she still felt that she could execute her plan, which fueled her confidence.
Tumblr media
Back within the comfort of her own office, Rosaline created a makeshift pillow using her extra doctor coat that hung on the back of her office door and laid Caly down on top of half of a fluffy blanket on the small couch she had in her dark space. Caly made no noise as she snuggled in and started to drift back into sleep. Rosaline covered her with the remaining half of the blanket while thinking to herself how amazing it was that kids could fall asleep practically anywhere so quickly.
“You poor thing. You’re exhausted. I hope your Mom knows to come back here for you. I hope she’s… safe.” The words felt wrong to say, as though it sealed an unspoken fate. Rosaline tried to shake off the thought but then a familiar chime rang through the speakers and she almost dismissed it… except no follow up announcement signaled that the chime was just a drill. The hospital had different sounding alerts and drills were run several times a month, much like a fire alarm being tested to ensure everyone knew what to do in the case of a real emergency. This particular alarm that sounded was for a full hospital lockdown so now Rosaline was on high alert, further spiked by Caly quickly falling asleep in her office.
“Caly? Can you wake up for a bit? I need to go see what is going on. Stay here and stay quiet, ok? I promise I’ll be back for you. See my badge? No one can get in here without it. You’re safe.” Caly was struggling to keep her eyes open, her lids fluttering heavily as the doctor gave her instructions. Within a moment after a nod of understanding, Caly was back asleep, the blanket pulled over her head.
Rosaline did not want to leave Caly here but instincts told her it was the best thing to do right now. She left her office, ensuring the lock clicked into place behind her and smoothed her doctor coat as she quickened her pace toward the Maternity ward waiting room to see what was going on.
Tumblr media
The day had been moving along just fine. Patrol of the city street from the rooftops was often boring work but Fetch enjoyed her shift nonetheless as it gave her time to stretch her legs and run free with her boost of neon at her heels. As she was about to call it quits and head back toward the school to review lesson plans before her classes started, she heard a shrill alarm from a large building to her right. Hazel eyes narrowed at the sight of two uniformed men standing outside the main doors and Fetch grabbed her cell phone, sending a photo and a short text to Delsin and Eugene.
Recognize these uniforms? Alarm at children’s hospital. Checking it out.
She didn’t wait for a response before turning off her phone completely and shoving it into the back pocket of her ripped jeans, dropping into an alley beside the hospital and strolling inside without a second glance from the unusual guards posted outside.
Once inside, she heard the alarm again and heard shouting from somewhere down the hall before her. Fetch didn’t wait to see what was going on while running down the hall as quietly as she could, her neon extinguished but easy enough to summon should she need it. She ducked into a waiting room where people seemed to be crying and whimpering. She tightened her jaw when she saw three men, in the same uniforms as the ones out front, with large weapons pointed at the people who were all sitting on the floor. Some were crying and clearly panicked and scared while one of the uniformed men with a helmet on and tinted visor down over his face was barking at them to stay quiet.
Fetch dropped to the ground trying to blend in and started crawling toward the center of the room. If she could get there, she could get the jump on these guys using neon without the worry of hurting anyone beyond her targets. She’d also have a straight shot to the doorway behind the men–an easy way to evacuate everyone once they were safe.
Suddenly a voice seemed to pull her attention from the guards, “Fetch…? Are you Fetch Walker?”
It caught her off-guard and she spoke normally without regard for the caution of the space she was in, “Yeah. Who said that?”
“No talking!” The familiar click of a gun being swung in her direction had Fetch growl as her attention was pulled to the barrel of the weapon. The men were wearing gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on their shiny murder toys… interesting.
“Keep quiet. They can’t hear me. If you are Fetch Walker, please just nod once or tap your finger along the floor twice.” The voice seemed loud enough for anyone to hear it and Fetch was slightly confused as to how someone could be speaking to her but no one else seemed to hear it. She waited for the guard to sweep his attention to a now sobbing woman and she tapped her index finger against the tiles twice.
“Thank God. This hospital is full of pregnant people, newborns and children. We need to make sure everyone gets full medical care without interruption. We need to get this situation under control quickly.”
“What do you want me to do?” Fetch spoke again, causing the closest guard to turn his gun on her, pressing the barrel into her chest sharply.
“I want you to shut the hell up! Speak again and you’ll be too dead to regret it.” A muffled voice sounded over the radio system attached to the shoulder on each mans’ uniform and the guard turned his attention to getting that message understood. Fetch glanced around looking for the person who was needing her help, but saw no one seemed to make eye contact nor get her attention.
“First, stop answering out loud. I can’t hear your thoughts but I am speaking to you through my own. Please nod if this makes sense.”
Fetch turned her attention back to the three armed men, quickly studying the uniforms for any identification as she nodded casually.
“Good. My name is Doctor Hutch. We are under a lockdown. These men stormed our hospital looking for something called ‘Project 41 and 42’. Do you know what that is?”
The voice was coming in clearer now that Fetch realized it was in her mind and that was why no one else could hear it. It was a woman’s voice and it was calm and collected. It had to be someone in this room with her but Fetch decided to stop looking for whomever it belonged to and to focus on the task at hand. She shook her head slightly from side to side in a silent answer.
“No, huh? I have a sinking suspicion that I have what they are looking for. I need your help to get to my office and get Caly to safety. I’ll find you after the hospital is clear. Can I trust you?”
Fetch bobbed her chin in response, her jaw set in determination.
“Thank you. I’m going to distract the guards and slide you my badge. You’ll need it to get access to my office. It’s on your left just past the Maternity Wing, first floor. Take a left out of that doorway in front of you. I’m counting on your speed here… please no fighting. It will scare her.”
With another subtle nod, Fetch stored the directions away and shifted herself into more of a crouching position to give her a jump start on a dash once the badge was in her hands. She wasn’t sure how this mysterious Doctor Hutch would distract these no-nonsense guards, but she was here for a reason and apparently that was not to help the hospital but instead to run with whoever this “Caly” was and to get her to a safe place.
“I’m going to cut communication with you now. Once the guards are distracted, take my badge and go. I’ll find you!” Suddenly, Fetch’s head felt heavy silence as though someone had turned on the noise-canceling button of headphones she didn’t know she was wearing. She focused on the closest man before her when suddenly he dropped his weapon and was scrambling to pull off his helmet with a loud shout. The helmet clattered to the floor beside the gun as the man put his hands over his ears and screamed in pain and surprise. The guard to his right gave a glance to the guard just outside the doorway before striding over to the one screaming and reaching out to him.
“Hey, what’s going on?” As the second guards’ hand touched the screamer’s shoulder he immediately also started yelling and panicking, weapon dropping and helmet quickly being unbuckled with his free hand. It was during this weird show of invisible distraction, that Fetch felt something bump into her boot. She snatched up the mentioned badge and in a burst of pink and yellow, raced out of the room, heading toward the office. The final guard didn’t even have time to fire a warning shot as he was so distracted and confused over what was happening to his partners that he let Fetch go further into the hospital without a fight.
It took seconds for Fetch to reach the office and she shook off her neon and gave a look down the hallway both ways before placing the badge on the reader and unlocking the door. She slipped inside and the door closed, locking behind her. She didn’t know what this “Caly” person looked like but before she could start her search, movement to her left caught her eye.
A child was wide awake and had moved herself into the far corner of the couch, her pink blanket brought up over her mouth, gray eyes wide in fear and uncertainty.
“... Caly? Are you Caly?” Fetch reached out to the child and she shrunk further away. The neon-wielder paused in her approach and instead knelt beside the couch, holding up the badge beside her head.
“Caly, Doctor Hutch sent me to come get you. It’s not safe here right now and she wanted me to get you someplace safer. My name is Fetch. Will you come with me?”
Caly looked from the badge with Rosaline’s photo on it, to Fetch and after a moment nodded then stood up on the couch reaching her hands upwards. Fetch released a quiet breath of relief and stood before picking up the child.
“Listen, I’m going to take you back with me but we are going to run very, very fast. I need you to hang on very, very tight, okay? You can close your eyes. I promise to be careful.” Caly nodded again and buried her face against Fetch’s neck, squeezing her eyes closed and clinging tightly to both Fetch and her blanket. Fetch reached into her pocket and pulled out the emblem that Delsin had given her. It hung from a necklace chain, something she had modified it to do instead of being pinned to her outfits daily, suddenly thankful she didn’t have time to clasp it around her neck this morning. She left her emblem necklace on the Doctor’s desk before pocketing the badge and listening at the door. No alarming sounds were heard so she carefully pushed the door open and checked the hallways before leaving the office and racing off toward the emergency exit. Leaving through that door set off a secondary alarm and this one she recognized as one that Seattle Police would respond to. She hoped they’d arrive quickly.

“Should we go looking for her?” Delsin was pacing in the office, wearing a path of worry into the thin carpet below his sneakers. Eugene was perched on the arm of the red couch in the office, looking at his cell phone and quickly running through different apps and settings.
Eugene paused long enough to make eye contact with his clearly worried friend, “Her phone is off. We can’t track her, but we trust her. We know her, Delsin. She’ll be okay.”
“What if something happened? What if she–” Delsin was cut off by a burst of bright pink neon rushing into the room and slamming the door behind her. Fetch seemed to be okay as she leaned herself against the door to catch her breath. Her back was to the guys and Delsin nearly seemed to snap to her side with Eugene giving her a once over to check for any signs of Fetch needing immediate first aid.
Delsin motioned broadly, his voice raised in relief with a bite of anger, “Fetch! You gave me a heart attack! What the hell happened–”
“Shhhh!” Fetch spun around then to face her friends and that’s when they both saw Caly clinging to and being cradled by Fetch. Fetch looked utterly exhausted too, which was unusual for her.
Delsin’s mouth dropped open without a sound. His anger vanished in a moment seeing Fetch standing there with this tiny human wrapped around her. Fetch looked so… motherly. That was something he never thought he’d see with her, despite his brain providing him with plenty of what-if daydreams in which similar scenarios played out.
“Is she okay? Are you? Here, get her to the couch.” Eugene leaped into motion grabbing a blanket and moving a throw pillow horizontally on the couch. He was great with kids, mostly because he felt like he could relate to them. The teenagers at the school were more comfortable with Delsin and Fetch.
Fetch blew out a rush of air and moved toward the couch, sitting down carefully and gently running her hand through Caly’s hair, “Hey, Caly? We’re here. You did great. You were very brave.”
Caly blinked and looked around cautiously before releasing her hold on Fetch and slipping off her lap and onto the couch cushion beside the pink-haired woman. Her gray eyes studied Eugene who knelt before her and offered her a rubber duck he pulled from the window ledge behind the desk. Caly took the duck and held it. Delsin slowly approached from around the back of the couch and gave Caly a quick glance before locking eyes with Fetch. His ears started to heat up suddenly and he raised one hand to absently rub the back of his neck, dropping his gaze to the floor.
“There was a lockdown at the hospital and these uniforms I’ve never seen. I went in, but then had a weird encounter with a conduit who had telepathy, maybe? She’s a doctor… Here's her badge. She said the uniforms may be after Caly here. Asked me to get her somewhere safe. I ran all the way back here via rooftops with neon, carrying Caly, so we’d have less chance of being seen.” Fetch tossed the badge to Delsin who caught it with his open hand. After examining it, he passed it to Eugene who took it and held it.
“Caly? My name is Eugene. How old are you?” Caly gave Eugene a small smile, mimicking his own, before holding up four fingers.
“She’s four years old, guys. Seems too young to do any damage that would cause a lockdown.” Eugene stood and took the badge to the desk, opening up their shared laptop and setting to work.
Fetch looked at Caly and tried to piece together the puzzle she had before her, but she felt like she was missing pieces. Caly yawned and snuggled against Fetch, placing her thumb in her mouth and hooking the index finger of the same hand over her tiny nose. She pulled her soft pink blanket up close to her face with her other hand, the rubber duck falling into her lap.
“Fetch, I… “ Delsin started to speak, but the image before him seemed to be washing him in feelings he thought he had long since buried and forgotten about. Fetch ran her fingers through Caly’s hair, gently pulling at the hair ties and releasing the platinum blonde hair from the lopsided and wind-blown pigtails and into a mess of waves and curls.
“I’m sorry to worry you, Smokes. I just had this feeling… you know? Like when you are exactly where you are meant to be? I didn’t have time to do much else besides send that photo and text.” Fetch’s voice was soft, speaking more to the top of Caly’s head than looking at Delsin directly. She wasn’t avoiding him, not exactly, but she had a feeling this was going to lead into a different conversation if she didn’t keep it on topic.
“Yeah, that photo was a bit blurry but I’ve never seen those uniforms before. I ran a script on it to see if I could track any similar photos and only pulled up one posted late last night on social media. They seem to be a cross between police and some old D.U.P. looks, wouldn’t you agree?” Eugene was focused on the laptop, the keyboard quietly clacking away, the reflection of the screen visible in his eyeglasses.
Fetch turned her attention to Eugene and tilted her head slightly as though she was lost in thought, “... yeah, maybe? I dunno… they seemed so… crisp. Anything popping up if you search for D.U.P. or factions?”
“Nothing. Everything is just from seven years ago when they disbanded and shut down. It’s weird though… Did you get a closer look at the logo on the front at all? It was too small and blurred for me to make out.”
“An owl. It was an owl. I got close enough to take note of it. I can draw it for you in a bit. I’m… kinda stuck here for right now.” Caly had fallen asleep against Fetch’s warm side and her thumb was slowly falling out of her mouth. Eugene glanced around the laptop screen and smiled at seeing Caly so cuddled into Fetch, before nodding with approval at Fetch’s suggestion.
Delsin suddenly interjected, pulling himself loose from his thoughts, “What about that doctor? Anything on her?”
“Doctor Rosaline Hutch, CGC which is code for Certified Genetic Counselor. Fairly new to Seattle. She has a published, award-winning paper on the conduit gene and how to identify it. It won her a prestigious ASHG–American Society of Human Genetics–award and quite a large sum of money. Looks like she used some of that money to help expand Seattle Children’s Hospital.” Eugene scrolled through his findings, “No mention of any kids of her own, but she does have a sister who lives nearby. Is Caly related to her somehow?”
“I… I don’t know. She didn’t say. Just told me to get her out of there and keep her safe. I figured this was the best place for her. Doctor Hutch said she’d find me after the hospital was safe. I left a calling card of sorts behind in her office to help her track me down.”
Delsin shrugged, “Then I guess we will keep the kid safe and wait it out. We can question the doctor once she shows up.”
“... Will she show up?” Eugene peered over his glasses, his focus bouncing between Caly and Fetch.
“Absolutely. I triggered the main alarm for the hospital on my way out. The cops have gotta have things sorted by now.” Fetch shifted just enough to gently maneuver Caly onto the pillow beside her. She grabbed the blanket Eugene had set on the couch and shook it out before laying it over the small child and making sure she stayed asleep.
Delsin stepped behind the desk now and took over the laptop, typing something quickly. The laptop speakers sparked to life, relaying a live feed of a local news channel that was set outside the hospital where the reporter was explaining that everything was under control and no one was hurt. His eyebrow shot up and he glanced back at Fetch over the screen.
Fetch rolled her eyes, “The doctor did something to distract the uniforms long enough for me to grab Caly. I’m not sure what she did or how, but they seemed like they were in pain from hearing something only they could hear. But if the news isn’t reporting about the uniforms then we may have bigger problems.”
“She’s right. No mention of the uniforms or anything related to any reason on why exactly the alarm was triggered.” Eugene had seized control of the laptop again and his glasses reflected that he had already pulled up various sources looking for information before it was asked of him.
Delsin moved to perch on the edge of the desk, arms crossed loosely over his chest as he exhaled a puff of air. No one had a moment longer to think things over before a soft knock sounded on the office door, “Come in.”
The door opened and a female student stood there in the hallway before waving hello at Delsin and ushering over someone beyond the door frame. A woman walked into the office with the confidence and professionalism expected of someone wearing that doctor’s coat. Her hair was up in a bun, made slightly messy from the earlier events of the day. She removed her glasses and allowed them to dangle from the beaded chain around her neck.
Delsin stood up and dropped his arms before clearing his throat, “Thanks, Alessia.” He crossed over to the door and closed it, leaving the students to wonder about the doctor now in a meeting with the founders of the school. Fetch glanced over the back of the couch and Eugene stood from behind the desk, closing the laptop.
The woman held out her fist and walked toward Fetch, dropping something into Fetch’s outstretched hand, “Thank you for this.” She peeked over the couch and sighed softly in relief at seeing Caly there asleep. Fetch nodded and clasped the returned necklace around her neck, dropping the emblem into her shirt.
“Doctor Hutch, I presume? I’m Delsin Rowe, that’s Eugene Sims and I see you’ve met Fetch already. Welcome to our safe haven,” Delsin spoke welcomely though he had an edge to his voice that teetered on the verge of suspicion.
“Please, call me Rosaline. I’m sure you have questions for me. I don’t know that I have all the answers, but I’ll tell you what I can.”
Fetch was standing now, having walked around to the back of the couch and was leaning against it. She held the doctor’s badge out toward Rosaline who took it and dropped it into her pocket. Eugene joined the group and stood beside Fetch. Delsin offered Rosaline a cold water bottle from a tiny refrigerator beside the office door.
“We’d love to know what you know.”

I need some help, y'all.
I was supposed to be working this week. Instead, I'm stuck at home sick with a flu or some shit--which means I can't make rent on my own. I've got a bit over 2 days to come up with about $600.
If you can afford to toss some money my way, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can't, please repost/reblog/signal-boost this.
