Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss Rewrite Ideas #01

I truly believe that both shows have a lot of untapped potential that we'll unfortunately never get to see thanks to Viv refusing to take criticism and the fact that her writers are all yes men. However, that doesn't mean I can't give out rewrite ideas like they're candy to those who wish to tap into either show's said potential. With that being said, here are some rewrite ideas that you could use for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss! ______ #01.) Have Mrs. Mayberry become one of the residents of the Hazbin Hotel. I promise you, this one writes itself. #02.) Have Glitz & Glam be Fizz's rival co-workers to parallel his time in the circus when he worked with the Buckzo twins who acted more like a family to him. #03.) Write some new workers for the Hazbin Hotel since they're still severely understaffed. You could make these new employees a Hellborn, a Sinner, an Overlord, or Goetia royalty if you wanted too. The possibilities for this one are endless! #04.) Let Heaven contrast with Hell based on how they operate. For example, in my rewrite for the Hellaverse, Heaven doesn't use currency at all. It quite literally doesn't exist up there. Instead, they use the Bartering System as they view it to be the most fair exchange of goods and services. #05.) Have there be a character who doesn't belong in Hell but got sent there anyway for whatever reason. I'd recommend using Valoris (my take on renaming Vaggie) if you don't mind keeping her as a fallen angel or using her original Sinner backstory however I feel like Amélie (I renamed Emily solely because her name is so common. It's not bad but you can tell that there was barely any thought put into it either.) could work just as well since she'd be a fallen Seraph. #06.) Make Lucifer and Stolas evil as they were originally intended to be before Viv scrapped the idea in favor of something worse. Stolitz is a toxic ship no matter how much damage control and retconning Helluva Boss tries to do and when initially asked about how Lucifer would act later in the series on an old livestream, Viv originally wanted to have his character be on par with that of Willy Wonka so do with that information what you will. #07.) Allow for Charlie's, "Anyone can be redeemed," mentality to constantly be challenged by those around her. Don't be afraid to have her be in the wrong because we all know that not everyone can be redeemed. Some people (Valentino) truly aren't deserving of it and others won't be accepting to change. You can lead a horse to water all you want but the horse has to decide to drink it. #08.) Create a proper foil ship for Fallen Star (I hate using the ship name Chaggie) cause if even Stolitz can have one in the form of Fizzmodeus then Fallen Star should have one too. Most people opt to use Emilute but I'm a damn GuitarSpear shipper so I opted for a crossover ship that has Emily and another character from Helluva Boss instead. Listen, if a rare pair and joke ship like CherriSnake can become canon over a ship like Sir Pentious x Rosie that actually makes sense when you consider they're from similar time periods, then a crossover ship being in my AU rewrite is the least of my problems.

Thoughts on Viv selling fully out to Amazon?

Is it appropriate to say I called it? Since I do believe when analyzing Spindlehorse's financial signals I mentioned that this was a very likely outcome if my information was at least accurate.

On one hand, Medrano has mentioned wanting to have crossovers for her series but was very unsure of if that would be a possibility, especially since she wasn't interested in giving up any more creative control.

On the other hand, you know for a fact that if Helluva Boss was as successful as it was in its first season, it would be making more money than the licensing was worth in the long run and she would have very quickly given up on the effort, unless she genuinely thought this was the best route forward for her production.

What I'm saying is this is one hell of a way to say you lost confidence in your financial situation.

But I think there is something a lot of Critics need to come to terms with quickly here:

There is no cancelling Vivienne Medrano.

Her shows will be finished. She will be paid no matter what. Even if the shows are major flops, she still gets to laugh all the way to the bank.

So the best way to actually have an impact is to just stop talking about her shows.

They aren't that good, they aren't complex, they aren't even for you. They aren't being made for anyone but Medrano herself, and even if she is the only person watching her shows moving forward, she still gets paid the same.

So why even bother anymore? All you do is keep her relevant by bringing her up. By not talking about her, not letting her name or her shows trend in the algorithms and not engaging, even in negativity, with her works is how you keep her from getting more successful. If you really think she never deserved it and that she's a terrible person to have succeeded, just forget about her existence.

I think this is the new crossover trailer in a nutshell:

It was pretty childish until Blitzø poped up and started cursing a storm.

Vivienne had to gloat again about how Amazon greenlit Hazbin Hotel for at least four seasons.

Blitzø (Viv) had to poke fun at some stuff and terms circulating around in in the fanon space (like "Hash Brown Motel" which is usually used by people who don't like the series).

She practically sold Helluva Boss to keep it going for as long as possible while making sure she will get her lenghty episodes where she will shove the yaoi slop of her dirty dreams (and will also STILL have the audacity to call it "indie" just like always).

Of course Charlie had to defend Vivienne from Blitzø calling her a "bitch" (and he was a king for it,love you Blitz. Not to mention he has all the right to do it after everything he's been put through).

Vassago cameo (who even needs this fucker?).

Possible foreshadowing of Blitzø probably doing the deed with Angel Dust? Blitzø also used the common misspelling of his name when referring to him.

We are getting that "Lucifer in the same room with the other sins" idea that Vivziepop kept moaning about for years.

Again,more audacity from Miss Medrano where she has to say through her characters that "animation takes a long time!" (I don't feel like explaining this one now).

Charlie is (again) a crybaby at the end.

Blitzø accidentally proves the point of these shows having too many characters. Also notice how he didn't bring Angel Dust after mentioning him (not that we need him anyway,but at least he didn't bring Val),disrespected Vaggie by misspelling her name,and made a jab at the fandom thirsting for Alastor.

I personally found this more entertaining than both shows and that has to be saying something about the writing of this mess.

PS:Charlie and Blitzø had much more chemistry with each other in this promotinal thing,which is not even canon,than with their supposed love interests.

7. Season 1 Blitzø, I can definitely see him having sex with Angel Dust but right now he’s more focused on Stolas. At best, I can see Blitzø becoming friends with Angel Dust.

9. Ironic especially when she’s been outsourcing and there have been several testimonials of ex employees saying how disorganized and overworked Spindlehorse is.

10. Pretty in character, this I will let slide.

11. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are bloated, even the characters feel meshed together.

Charlie and Blitzø were pretty cute together and their dynamic is intriguing (especially when you take in consideration of the class difference). I wonder if they will address that or have Blitzø and Charlie make a plan to fix the hierarchy.

Helluva Boss + SPY x family crossover inspired by Laviko_weid drawing on Twitter!!!!

I have so much fun thinking of the character dynamics and the fun added bonus of all of them being from Hell. (This is a world where there is a problem of hellspawn migrating to Earth, and the government is working with Hell to purge their world of secret Hellborn residents)

Stolas

Stolas ran away from the throne and his arranged marriage WITH his grimoire when he was 23, fleeing to the human world to start over. (Meaning Stolas is much more accustomed to ‘real life’ than canon Stolas. Still love them both tho)

Due to not using a crystal and instead uses sheer magical will that Stolas stays in human form, he finds it difficult to keep his eyes constantly changed, so opts to just keep his eyes closed. This doesn’t limit him at all, and he can see perfectly fine with them shut. However, if feeling intense feelings, especially if sudden, he forgets or just doesn’t care to keep them shut.

Stolas became an assassin at age 25, finding an odd sense of belonging to the profession. A control he never felt in his previous life. But as the years passed, Stolas became increasingly worried about being found out by the government. Most likely he wouldn’t be executed, but at this point, he has grown fond of his life on Earth and is making no plans on returning to his loveless marriage or royal duties back in Hell.

Blitzø

During the Circus fire, the fire had spread to nearby trees and buildings, including a building that was owned by a dangerous gang in the area, the fire killing a solid number of important gang members. For years they had hunted Blitzø, and while trying to escape them one day, Blitzø landed himself inside of a jail cell, meeting Moxxie in the process. After breaking out, they both decided it would just be safer to leave Hell all together.

Blitzø steals Veroskia’s (how to spell??) crystal and gives it to Moxxie then proceeds to steal himself one by sleeping with a succubus. They flee to earth. Blitzø is 22 at this point.

He found himself hating that hellspawn are hunted on earth (the whole point of going to earth was to be able to live without that fear of being prey) he attempted to become an assassin, however, Moxxie went into spy work and was easily persuaded since he thought it was the next best thing because you got to dress up AND you got to shoot people.

(Blitzø is a great spy because he is unpredictable and spontaneous- definitely a different kind of spy compared to Twilight.)

(Millie is human in this AU, Millie is that one coworker, Camilla, Moxxie is Frankie. These two are married, don’t question it)

Octavia

Octavia’s egg hatched a week after Stolas had left. (Stella had kept the egg a secret from Stolas, wanting to not constantly be pestered by the owl demon)

Stella was set to be wed to another Goetia, and she didn’t want to bring the owlet from her first marriage that failed spectacularly over to her second one. She wasn’t close enough to the newly hatched bird to be bothered. But It couldn’t get out that a Goetia had been given up to the streets of hell, and Stella didn’t want this girl to be unfairly exploited or raised improperly for being a Goetia, especially when she looked so much like her father already. Stella manually transformed Octavia into her human disguise and handed her off to a succubus who she had paid handsomely and instructed her to be handed off to a family who could take care of her. Unfortunately, Octavia had been handed off to demon obsessed lunatics.

At the age of 4, they had Octavia read a spell that they had no idea what it did. She had the magical ability to cast it, but she had the reading ability of a four year old and she was attempting to read a language she had been taught second hand by people who had taught themselves how to read it. It didn’t go great, she passed out in the process, however, when she awoke, she was granted the gift of telepathy.

Stolas and Octavia are both unaware that she is his actual blood related daughter, but it’s constantly mentioned by other characters that they look much more related than Blitzø and Octavia do. But it’s late to change the story now!

When the show starts, Stolas is 28, Blitzø is 25, and Octavia is 5

The Danny Phantom Crossover Power Scaling Issue

The existence of the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms in Danny Phantom should, in theory, make it super easy to create crossover stories between DP and other series. The Ghost Zone is literally a dimension that exists between dimensions and has literal doorways and random portals that lead to random points between time and space and to pocket dimensions. There would be no reason NOT to have Danny just decide to check out another dimension, to have one of his rogues go cause trouble somewhere that Danny has to chase them down. And yet most people here and on AO3 only do Danny Phantom crossover prompts and stories with DC Comics.

Why? Well, for one thing DC Comics is just very easy to do crossover scenarios with thanks to it having so many different original locations, teams, and power origins. But another reason, from what I have been able to gather, is the problem of power scaling.

Danny Phantom, even without adding in fanlore like Ghost King Danny, Eldritch Danny, and Ancient of Space Danny, is incredibly OP both in terms of raw power and because he has a such a wide range of incredibly powerful, useful, and dangerous abilities.

Danny has superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes, he can fly, regenerate, shoot lasers/plasma from anywhere on his body, has cryokinesis and telekinesis, can duplicate himself, can vanish from the visible light spectrum and phase through solid mater and most forms of energy, and more. And there is only so many of those powers you can ignore and how much you can weaken them before it becomes ridiculous and character-breaking.

How can you have Danny become part of a story like Harry Potter without either making it so he never uses his powers or just steamrolls the challenges that nearly get Harry and his friends killed every year? How can you have Danny throw down in the MHA universe without him negating the danger presented to him by becoming intangible and attacking at range or overshadowing his opponents? Or Game of Thrones without making all the dangers and power plays of that world looking like a joke when he can just fly into King's Landing and force Cersei to confess to her infidelity and incest or make Joffrey look so deranged that his allies have no choice but to abandon him? Hell, I brought up shows like Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss on this blog before and I had to be very careful to avoid anything that would boil down to Danny becoming part of the direct military conflict between Heaven and Hell or having to interact with IMP!

To make crossovers with Danny Phantom work you either need to use a universe that has powers that scale to Danny's own, like DC and Marvel, or you need to avoid stories that could be solved via direct combat, which means ignoring the primary genre of Danny Phantom and a severely major aspect of what makes Danny unique as a character. So people, including me, tend to restrict themselves to DPxDC to avoid the problem of powerscaling as much as possible and allow us to have Danny keep his powers and keep having a history of heroics and personality that is in line with protecting and fighting people.

The only crossover between Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel I'd ever want to see, is a duet of Loser Baby between Blitz and Angel, paired with a side plot Valentino and Stolas fucking and sharing venomous and hypocritical words to each other afterwards about who's less bad when the former no longer has his imp boy toy on a golden chain.

That's it. That's all I wanna see. It'll never happen, but that's all I care about. Maybe I should just make a comic about it myself so Viv can passive aggressively tweet about ME on Bluesky too..

God, could you imagine if Viv saw it? She'd blow her stack all over again.

One year Hellaversary!

It’s been a one year since I ‘officially’ joined the Hellaverse fandom!

I watched Hazbin Hotel in April 2024 whilst on holiday in Florida and fell in love with it, then decided to take a chance on the “other” show Helluva Boss a few weeks later because everyone talked about how good it was.

Cue me falling in love with an owl and a lizard and the ✨hyperfixation✨ took over when I dived back into tumblr on May 1st and I’ve never looked back!

It makes complete sense why I love these shows so much. It’s the beautiful animation, adult humour, music, complex characters, messy relationships, attention to detail in every frame - a checklist of my favourite shit in one expansive world.

It’s been so fun to interact with other fans both online and in person at cons. I’ve felt like I’ve found my people after feeling alone in my interests for most of my adulthood. It’s so nice to be a part of something bigger and get excited about the same things ❤️

And we’re just getting started with more seasons, more opportunities for crossover and other forms of media (I’ll go broke from all the merch I swear) and I’m so ready for the rollercoaster to continue!

LVLUP Expectations~

So for those that don't know, over on my bsky I've been hosting a LVLUP Bingo where people are free to fill out and post what they think (or want) Spindlehorse to announce this upcoming convention.

And out of all the bingos I've received so far, I've noticed a majority of people like to keep their expectations rather low, and I can't help but wonder why. (Maybe I'm just a dreamer)

Anyway, roughly one week ago Spindlehorse made this announcement:

They specifically cited that this LVLUP we'll be receiving "some of the BIGGEST announcements in Helluva history" and encouraged people to book tickets.

Yet, despite the pretty firm announcement promising something big- people still keep their expectations rather low, and I wonder if it's due to the fact that people can't really imagine how they'd top last year's LVLUP News~

True, last year was exciting and it is hard to beat these announcements, but what's funny is the fact that when promoting Helluva Boss last year for LVLUP- absolutely none of the posts suggested the revelation of any big news.

This announcement was pretty on the nose as it promised release dates and exclusive premieres, both of which we indeed got.

Meanwhile, currently all we got is this

Just what could they possibly announce.

A lot of people I notice like to think that they're going to release something Hazbin news related, but I don't think that's the case at all, unlike last year where we had the voice actors of: Charlie, Alastor, Angel, Valentino, Sir Pentious, and Adam come as special guests- this year the only voice actors going that are remotely Hazbin Hotel related is Alex Brightman (Sir Pentious / Adam) and Brandon Rogers (Katie Killjoy), and the only reason Brandon counts as one is because he's broken into enough Hazbin panels to warrant it. 😭👍

Also, since they specified "Helluva" - I really don't think it's anything Hazbin related unless they finally announce a crossover, which I fine hard to believe since you'd assume a crossover event would warrant more Hazbin voice actors.

But that's just my two cents and what my 4am ramblings have bought me...

Low-key would love a movie or a spin-off series, those would definitely make the BIGGEST title warrant its name. 🤭

Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss AU

Opening this up for discussion and ideas. Since the RWBY one got so much attraction, why not see what another AU that is so musically inclined like Hi-Fi Rush?

Hence, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Though it might be more learning towards Hazbin, at least with what I can think of. It's a simple concept and I only got Chai in it, so feel free to send questions about this crossover after the read more.

What if Chai’s surgery mishap did more than just give him cool music robot powers? What if he had died and woke up in hell? Now Chai needs to figure out this new life of his while also trying not to get killed by either cannibals, murders, and of course angels.

His appearance has changed. His clothing is darker, with the star on his shirt shattered, black jacket, hist left eye having a lightning bolt scar over it, and his eyes went from a brown color to a amber one. His skin is the same, if not paler. When he goes berserk, his skin goes yellow with black lightning patterns coursing through his body, his horns sprouting out and forming around his head like a crown, and sporting demonic wings. In terms of powers, it is the same as canon except with the added demonic traits.

1: when did you start watching the show?

 I think it was near the end of 2023? I was introduced to the fandom by one of the comics that @fallen-gabrielle posted. I was a fan of old fashioned cartoons already and loved the unique art style! A few comics and several episodes later, I was hooked!

6: did you cry when you watch OP INTERVIEWS?

I didn't cry but It felt quite bitter sweet. I’m the sort of person who watches the end before finishing a series. So I kind of scrolled through the entire wiki and watched I.N.T.E.R.V.I.E.W.S. before actually watching the C:KND. It is an inevitable fate for all kids to grow up to grow old and gray at some point. But I have never seen characters grown up in a cartoon before. The whole episode made KND hit a bit too close to home to me. 

Ironically the episode that made me upset the most ended up being one of the reasons that I like about the KND.

Do you think Satan will try to overthrow Lucifer? Your theories on Satan being a threat for Charlie’s arc, combined with Viviene teasing the possibility of a crossover between Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, make me believe that the wrath boi will make a play for power and he could become a unifying enemy for the Hotel and IMP to face along with the good Sins. Of you see this kind of conflict happening, how would you see it play out?

I don’t really think so, for a number of reasons.

For one, I don’t exactly see Satan actively trying to overthrow Lucifer, mostly because from what we’ve seen it feels like he ALREADY has all of the power and authority that he wants. Satan pretty much is the top dog in Hell in Lucifer’s absence, so why would he really want more than that?

Also, I get the sense from what we see in Mastermind that for all of his talk, Satan does still respect Lucifer’s position as ultimate ruler of Hell and doesn’t really covet it himself, at least not actively. For example, note the arrangement of the Sins in the court, with Satan at the bottom and Lucifer’s seat at the top, an arrangement that was clearly put into place LONG before Lucifer left. And how throughout all of Mastermind, Satan shows zero problem with this arrangement. Even after hundreds of years, Lucifer’s spot at the top of the Sins has remained empty, and Satan seems to have no desire to change that.

Not to mention, Satan is the embodiment of Wrath, not Pride, Greed, Envy or anything else we might expect to covet more than what he has. Especially when, again, he basically already has all of the power and authority in Hell.

When it comes to how Satan might serve as an antagonist for Charlie, I don’t think it will be in the sense that Satan will be trying to ‘upend’ the order of Hell by trying to overthrow Lucifer, rather I think it will be the opposite.

I think Satan will serve as an obstacle to Charlie in that he is the main figure upholding and enforcing a status quo which Charlie wants to break. Charlie wants to CHANGE things, and Satan is the one standing in her way.

The way I see this playing out is that at some point, Charlie will want/need to effectively unify the seven rings/kingdoms of Hell against Heaven, as well as likely wanting to reform/change some things after getting a look/reminder of the many issues plaguing the rest of Hell. Which of course would put her in direct opposition towards Satan, as well as Mammon, possibly Leviathan, and definitely the Goetic nobility.

The thing is, I imagine that it will be brought up that Lucifer probably COULD get the other Sins and the Goetia to bend the knee, BUT at this point Lucifer just so happens to be incapacitated or otherwise unavailable. Meaning that CHARLIE is going to have to handle this herself.

As I’ve said in other posts, I think this will be one of those points where we really see Charlie step up as a leader and really establish herself as the future RULER of Hell. Satan, Mammon and the Goetia aren’t going to listen to her or take her seriously and even actively work against her and undermine her. So Charlie is going to have to fight against them.

Specifically, as I’ve mentioned previously, I imagine by ultimately KICKING UNCLE SATAN’S ASS. Probably in front of the other Sins, the entire Goetic nobility and just maybe all of Hell via live-broadcast.

hell x hazbin stalling

The chances of a helluva boss and hazbin hotel crossover aren't good, most probably down to contracts with different production companies who lay claim to stories and characters, something that's common.

As far as crossovers go we have had a plain looking and speechless Fizzbot Lucifer's toy duck.

HB would offer us an almost full lineup, introducing Satan along with Bel and Lev in silence, potentially making them 'property' of this show. Though he isn't needed, there actual leader is missing.

HH would give us Lucicer, the actual leader along with his story of how this is his dimension and he still has access to heaven, but he was no leader, apparently does nothing day in day out and served to hang with his daughter and her friends.

Even if copywrite didn't factor in, what are the chances of one of the six sins showing up in Hazbin? especially since leadership over a 'lower class' is the leading characters plot though she's too 'nice' to know it and this plot is also shelved.

Also she has gone above them, to angels of heaven.

The sins and goatia are just doing there own thing. Some maintain order, some keep a business going and some, just like Lucifer and the sinners, do what they want all day. All is fine.

Issues we have are that one series tends to contradicts the other.

This 'sweet' character Charlie cared for the people of hell in the pilot and looked to deal with the 'issue of overpopulation' by redeeming sinners and to evict them out without knowing anything about heaven, she is a prime example of someone who sort of recognizes their own privilege by showing sadness and a want to help, but is there a controlling behaviour behind this or is there nothing but empathy.

Charlie is a hellborn, we really could do with seeing her interacting with those who aren't 'her people', maybe other hellborns who don't fit her plans, those less fortunate than sinners, like imps and hellhounds. We would really see how nice and powerful she really is then. She doesn't help herself by her project hinging on a famous, not so pleasant sinner who she had to bribe being the person she must redeem with no effort made in her part.

Charlie, who is also in a relationship with someone she believed to be a sinner, fits right in with the likes of Stolas who pushed himself on imp Blitzø who happened to be a popular party guy

or Ozzie who runs a public club and is shacked up with famous imp Fizz

or Bee who also has an open door policy, also 'dates down' with hellhound Vortex and also just want everyone to be 'happy'

Nobody will question Charlie on her use of power and status, or lack of, nor Bee nor Ozzie and Stolas being bottom of this privileged pack enduring a temporary punishment of being cast out for 100 years when he is immortal showed us that nothing matters, good to get some lore but this doesn't bode well for Charlie who sits at the top with no power.

IMP contributes to the 'overpopulation' or 'they're getting too powerful' story, this was the lore HH established, but we are to root for them and when they did get in trouble, it wasn't for that.

The sinners could be an excellent go between for the two series, but they're disposable extras in HB dispute being needed for business and they're not interesting enough for Charlie who 'runs' a massive hotel and hangs with her friends.

A cross over should give opportunity to address so many queries and move both stories along, it could reduce the amount of holes by solidifying that this is all one world.

What would Bilizø and Charlie think of one another?

How about Valentino and Ozzie?

Lucifer and Striker?

Vaggie, Millie and the cherubs?

On the other hand, both series could work on being more uniform in what those in power are responsible for, the good the bad and the ugly which is what you take on in pretty much any job?
