Children of the Corn | Eddie Munson
Tumblr media
Day Twelve of Kinktober
Summary: A group date in the new Hawkins corn maze sounded amazing to you: Hanging out with Steve, Robin, Nancy and Jonathan sounded like just your night, until your worst enemy is included in the plans.
Content Warnings: this is lowkey some porn with a plot so 18+!!! MDNI. But we have some fluff, angst, enemies to lovers trope, fingering, oral (m receiving), withholding orgasm, overstimulation, public sex
wc: ~ 4.2k (this is my formal apology for being gone)
A lovely thank you to all of you for helping me out for the past month in supporting me on my health journey and a special thank you to @darknesseddiem for collaborating with me for this kinktober (even though I'm late IM SORRY)
Eddie Munson picked the exact date and time where he decided that you weren’t a friend, but an enemy. It was Jason Carver’s stupid fucking party that he wasn’t technically invited to, just asked to deal at. You had asked him to take you out, but you being you, and the pressure from half of the party staring and snickering at the two of you, Eddie put his walls up, and humiliated you in front of everyone - definitely more of a fall from grace for you than him. You told him to fuck himself and that you would never talk to him again. As much as it sent pangs of cold to Eddie’s heart, he knew the chances of you running into each other again were slim. You were in two totally different circles; or so he thought. You began working at the old record shop in the same strip mall as Family Video… Hawkins’ entertainment district was pretty measly. You met Robin while the two of you took breaks at the same time every shift, and Steve not long after. You became fast friends and blended in with them beautifully. Why wouldn’t you? Eddie thought, everyone likes you… his admiration turned into rage in self defense. He saw the look of shock and disappointment on your face when you saw him at the first group hangout. You tried your best to stay away from him, but 6 became a crowd: Nancy and Jonathan always off together, Robin and Steve continuing whatever quarrel they had started at Family Video, and you and Eddie. When it was the two of you, you were reasonably quiet. But Eddie was ruthless in a group - no comment you made to anyone went without a snide remark or scoff from the metalhead. The tension was palpable between the two of you: he thought you had come onto him as a joke, and you thought he was being cruel because he truly hated you.
-
Your birthday had finally come, and you couldn’t be more ecstatic. Nancy and Robin had planned your perfect autumn day. You had told them how badly you had wanted to go to the Hawkins corn maze, so they made arrangements. You were going to pick up hot chocolate, walk the maze, buy pumpkins and carve them at the Harrington house while you watched scary movies. You barely slept last night, you were so excited. You had given up complete control but there was one thing you had asked your friends: please don’t bring Eddie to this outing, not if they could help it. Robin regretfully inclined, saying she would let him know he was sitting this one out. You breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe you could finally fully enjoy your birthday.
-
You heard honking from outside and you dashed to your front door. You turned and ran down the front steps of your porch, a smile still stupidly plastered on your face. You halted and your grin dropped when you looked to see what vehicle was waiting to pick you up. A rusted burgundy van rumbled on the asphalt and a shit eating grin was plastered on the driver. Robin sat in the front seat with a guilty look on her face. She mouthed sorry to you as she hopped out of the van.
“No, no. You stay in the front. There’s no way in hell I’m sitting up there.” You accepted your defeat and brushed past the strawberry blonde, opening the sliding door to get in the back.
“Happy birthday, princess” Eddie sneered. He was over the moon with himself. “Hope you like your surprise” You normally let his comments slide off your back but you decided enough was enough. He was not going to walk all over you, not today.
“Well my eyes do deceive me then because this seems more like a punishment than a gift.” you mumbled. You turned your eyes to Steve, Nancy and Jonathan in the back with you.
“Nice to see you guys” you beamed at them. If Eddie thinks he can ruin your day, he is sorely mistaken. With a scowl, Eddie pulls the van into drive and screeches off the pavement.
“So, we thought we would draw names to see who goes in with who, make it a little competition?” Nancy wiggled her eyebrows at you.
“Yeah, we have prizes for the winners!” Robin chirped. You sighed and nodded your head in agreement. Hoping the worst wouldn’t happen - hoping that someone would be on your side today. If only…
Nancy pulled out a small notepad and a pen and wrote six names on them for three partners. Three pairings, you were hoping, that would be different from the usual. The names were pulled with stone cold faces: Robin and Jonathan, Nancy and Steve, You and Eddie.
“We can repull,” Nancy laughed off, already crumpling papers back into the small container she used to shake them up.
“Why, is the princess scared of me?” Eddie’s eyes pierced yours through the rearview mirror.
“No, Nance. Don’t worry about it.” You grabbed at the girl’s manicured hand and squeezed it. “It’s all good.” You smiled and nodded at her in refusal. You weren’t going to let Eddie ruin your day, but some time alone with him might bring you both some closure. But you couldn’t help but make your own jabs. “Eddie’s just upset that he’s gonna get carried through this maze. I heard he failed geometry a record 6 times?” Robin snorted and Eddies eyes fixed on the road, jaw hardened.
-
The six of you trudged to the start of the maze, making your plan to meet in the middle from three different entrances.
“Come on, sweetheart. Let’s go kick some ass.” Eddie’s voice was so saccharine sweet you felt a headache coming on. You flashed him a cold smile and you turned away from your friends to be stuck in a cornfield with the person you hated the most for the next hour.
You kept your distance from the mop headed boy. You walked side by side, but with more than enough room. He didn’t dare look at you, eyes trained to the floor (much like the night he ruined you) and his bottom lip fastened between his teeth. You glanced over at him periodically, hoping your eyes would meet his and the tension would fizzle, but you weren’t lucky. You came to a dead end with paths going to the left and the right.
“We should go this way,” the boy mumbled. Without waiting for you to agree, he pivoted on his heels and walked to the left. You let out an annoyed sigh.
“Eddie, that path looks like it’s just going to loop around to where we came from.” you argued. You wanted to keep your voice calm, you didn’t want to start a fight, and you definitely didn’t want Eddie fucking Munson to see you cry in a cornfield. He ignored you. He had shrugged off your counter and continued on his own way. He felt a tug on the arm of his jacket and he whipped around at you, his face mere inches from yours.
“What is your fucking problem?” he spat. Your face was etched with bewilderment and rage.
“What the hell are you talking about, Munson? You seemingly have a problem with me!” You yelped back. “You are so hellbent on making my life fucking difficult when I did nothing to you.”
“Holy fuck,” Eddie sneered. “You really are fucking that dense, aren’t you.” He pushed past you and back towards where you wanted to go in the first place. You bit your lip and exhaled slowly before turning and pacing after him. You refused to let the tears burning your waterline escape. Fuck. Eddie. Munson.
-
It was pure silence as you and Eddie trudged through the maze. You regretted this whole day, you regretted becoming friends with this whole group of people, and most of all, you regretted ever being nice to Eddie Munson. The twists and turns that you let Eddie lead you on began to all look the same, but you were too frustrated and tired to say anything to him. It had been half an hour of wandering and you could feel the heat growing behind your eyes. You were angry, you were tired, and you just wanted this day to be over.
“Eddie. We’re lost.” You peeped. He gave you no reaction, continuing to walk a few steps ahead of you. You sighed and reluctantly followed until your forehead bounced off of Eddie’s denim-clad back with an oof. “What are-”
“Why did you do that… at Carver’s party? Why?” Eddie’s voice was quiet and shaky. It scared you. He didn’t turn to look at you, too afraid that your face was going to contort into the answer he was dreading to know. You reach your hand to touch his shoulder and he flinches. Your confusion and anger were transforming in front of you into melancholy sympathy.
“Eddie I-” He turned to you and his face took the words from your mouth. The close to setting sun reflected all of the lights in his chocolate brown eyes. His lip trembled softly and his nose scrunched slightly. He was on the defensive, but he was really hurt. You had never seen this side of Eddie Munson and you were unsure if anyone had.
“Eddie, I was just joking.” Eddie mocked you. “Oh, Eddie, I just thought that it would be funny if me, the most perfect girl in fucking Hawkins would ask you, the freak, out on a date… Is that it, princess? Did I damage your reputation by rejecting you in front of everyone? How’d the joke turn out? Huh?” Eddie’s words cut through you and those pesky tears finally spilled. You kept your disappointed scowl.
“Don’t fucking cry at me. You’re just a mean fucking girl who was fucking popular. Now you’re a nobody. You hang out with fucking losers. But at least we’re fucking honest.” You felt everything spinning as Eddie’s words drowned you.
“I was being fucking honest!” You shove the boy by his broad shoulders and your words and strength throw him off balance. "God! Why is that so fucking hard to believe? Why would I do that to you? Why wouldn’t you just fucking trust me?!”
Eddie lunged at you, his hands flying to your cheeks and tears spilling from his own lashes. Your world stopped. His lips were rough against yours, a warm welcome. You didn’t know how much your body hid its want for him through your anger. But still, you pulled away and Eddie’s pale cheeks were brandished with a welt from your hand. Both of your chests heaved, the air feeling thick around you. Eddie could see the anger in your eyes, but he could feel the want you were emanating to him as well. He lunged at your hips, pushing you into the forest of corn behind you. Before you could mutter his name in protest, his lips were back on yours.
Eddie wanted to devour you whole, his lips greedy against yours - greedy to explore every part of your mouth, to feel your tongue in his. You obliged him happily, your heart backflipping with sudden satisfaction. Your body had forgotten how long you yearned for Eddie’s touch. It had been six months since you asked Eddie out, and six months of hating him because you thought he hated you. It was years of stealing looks at the brunette while he wasn’t looking - years of giggling under your hand at one of his cafeteria rants, all in secret because you weren’t supposed to like him. All of the butterflies in your stomachs, the curt smiles, the wanting - all leading up to this moment. Your skin felt like it was going to explode, hot under his touch. His grip on your hip and lower back was bruising. You took a moment to catch your breath as the metalhead’s plush lips trailed from the corners of your mouth down to your neck. You gasped as he sucked an unforgiving bruise onto your neck. Eddie shushed you with a soothing lick to his art on your skin.
“Eddie…” you wanted to carry your authority, but your warning came out as a plea. Eddie raised his head so he could meet your gaze.
“Gotta keep quiet, sweetheart. You don’t want anyone to hear us now, do you?” Eddie chided, your eyes rolled in annoyance but you were frozen. If Eddie wasn’t making all of the thoughts leave your head, you would be even more annoyed; whatever kind of dominance you tried to assert over him, he could make it all disappear with one touch - one smirk. The boy’s nimble fingers unbuttoned and unzipped your jeans without his eyes leaving yours. You mustered up all of the strength you could so you didn’t melt into him.
“I’m still fucking…mad at you, Eddie.” You panted. Eddie let out a soft moan of praise when his name left your mouth. The heat that pooled in your cheeks drained into your core. Eddie’s palm pressed against your abdomen as he sank his hand under your panties. His index finger swiped through your folds and you moaned. His free hand flew up to your mouth and he shot you a pointed look.
“It doesn’t feel like you’re very mad at me, doll” he sneered. “Unless that’s the kind of thing that gets you off…” He stuck his ring finger into your already soaked hole and your eyes fluttered. Eddie’s eyes bore into your fluttering orbs. “Show me how mad you are.”
If it was a challenge Eddie wanted, you were eager to accept. Your hands quickly mirrored his, fumbling with the elaborate buckle at his lithe hips. When you found purchase at the band of his boxers, his hand flew from your mouth to your lower back, already desperate to ground himself. The girl that he had been in love with for a year, the girl he never thought would like him back, the girl he hated so much because he loved her, was here with you now - albeit in the middle of a corn maze was not ideal - and he was rapidly losing his cool (as you could feel). You run your palm over his hardening cock. Eddie’s fingers stilled inside you as it was his turn to screw his eyes shut and try not to make any noise. You had to admit that his length was impressive. Even not fully erect yet, you could tell that he would be a mouthful. You could feel the saliva drooling in your mouth. You were growing desperate to taste him, but even more desperate to have the curly haired boy writhe underneath you.
You grabbed at Eddie’s wrist inside your pants and pulled him off of you. His face contorted in confusion then nervous anticipation as you lowered yourself to your knees and traced your hands down the tops of his toned thighs. A huff of anxious breath and your hands pulling down his boxers later and Eddie was fully exposed to you.
“You sure you want me to show you, Eds?” Your doe eyes challenged him from under him and you felt his knees buckle. You couldn’t suppress your giggle. You gave Eddie one last look as you kitten licked the tip of his reddening cock. He let out a hiss and threw his head back. You looked up at his bobbing Adam's apple and couldn’t help but think how beautiful his neck would look decorated with hickeys similar to the one you have. You Wrapped your mouth around his tip and sucked hard, continuing to bob up and down on his length until your eyes watered and a gag was threatening the back of your throat. There was no way you could fit all of him in your mouth, but you would be damned if you didn’t try.  Eddie bit his lip so hard you would be tasting blood the next time he kissed you. You pushed yourself to Eddie’s base and smirked as you could hear the boy above you cursing and muttering. Eddie didn’t know what to do with himself, where to put his hands. He was full of helium; so light that he was going to drift away. He planted his hands within your hair, gripping your locks and pulling. When Eddie pulled your hair, you moaned into him, which sent him barreling too close to his impending orgasm.
“Y/N, please” Eddie whimpered. His desperate voice was pathetic, it made your pussy flutter. You pulled your mouth off of him and looked at him quizzically. “You gotta stop. I’m gonna -” You cut him off by shoving him all the way back into your mouth. You pushed farther than you had before, his manicured hairs meeting your face. The drool leaked out the sides of your mouth and onto his balls and you could feel Eddie’s painfully hard cock twitch at the back of your throat. You gagged and pulled yourself back off of the desperate boy. He couldn’t help but moan loudly and tighten his grip in your hair.
“But, you can’t come yet…. I’m not done with you.” Your eyes darkened and Eddie knew that he was to obey. You went back to work on his leaking tip. You flattened your tongue on him, tasting his salty precum and you moaned with satisfaction. Your nails dragged across his denim clad thighs. You were desperate for him to unravel, just for you. His babble of praises and curses under his breath spurred you on harder. You snake your hand down to cup his balls. Your name was sung from Eddie’s mouth like a prayer. You hummed into his twitching cock, a final encouragement for Eddie to cum. Ropes of Eddie’s orgasm hit the back of your throat, causing you to gag around him. You continued to bob your head, working Eddie through the waves of his finish. He pulled you off of him with a whimper and a puff of his chest.
You rise back from your knees, thumbing a rogue drop of cum that escaped from the side of your mouth. Eddie’s golden brown eyes were black, his pale skin flushed a beautiful pink. You knew it already, but right now solidified it for you - Eddie Munson was a fallen angel. His porcelain complexion seemed to glow in the setting sun. His eyelashes kissed the apples of his cheeks when he closed his eyes. His brows furrowed perfectly across his forehead. His ringlet curls framed his face like one of the most beautiful paintings you had ever seen. You thought Eddie would be angry, or so turned on that he would take his frustration out on you, but your hopes dissolved when the darkness in Eddie’s eyes didn’t reflect the lust you anticipated, but a melancholy guilt. You looked to him, scared that you had made a mistake - that he was then going to turn around and say that he wanted to go back to being strangers… something that you couldn’t imagine doing, now that this line had been crossed.
You hated to admit it, as much as you assumed he did too, but you were an idiot. You let appearances and pride get in the way. You reached out to touch him but he recoiled from your touch, his eyes refusing to meet yours.
“Eddie-”
“I shouldn’t have said those things to you at Carver’s party.” His words were low, barely above a whisper. You caught your breath as your pesky tears bullied their way to your waterline. The only thing the two of you could hear was the distant laughter of other maze-goers and the soft rustling of leaves. Eddie took a step towards you, his eyes daring to look into yours for a split second.
“I-I never thought you would ever like someone like me…” Eddie’s hand found your cheek and rubbed small circles into your skin. “I thought if I couldn’t love you like I wanted to, it would be easiest to drive you away. I thought it was just a joke, you know, someone like you wanting to go out with someone like me…” Eddie’s voice cracked. His eyes grew glassy.
“Eddie…” You peeped. “I would never do anything like that to anyone, especially you. I really liked you.. Fuck I do really like you. That’s why it hurt so much when you shut me down. I… I couldn’t fucking take it.” You peel your eyes away from him, you wouldn’t dare look at him after your confession. The walls you had built were slowly coming down, but you were terrified of letting him in fully, with what he had put you through before. You were scared of Eddie Munson, you were scared of him because you love him.
“Fuck, Y/N I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” His toned arms wrapped around your hips and he pulled you into his chest. You could hear how hard the boy’s heart was beating. Yours felt like it was slowly being put back together with every beat you felt. “I know I don’t deserve it, but I really want to start over and try again… If you’ll let me. He pulls away from you enough to study your face. You hold his stare, desperately searching for any uncertainty in Eddie’s eyes. He looks at you fully with sorrow and adoration. You nod slowly, still scared but hopeful.
Eddie’s lips meet yours again, but his approach was soft, giving you ample time to pull away from him, but to his surprise (and delight), you didn’t. His lips brushed yours like you were made of rose petals, he was desperate to appreciate you, but didn’t want you to fall apart in his grasp. His lips moved against yours, both of you trying to pour your feelings and unsaid words into your kiss. Eddie’s tongue swiped against your bottom lip in a silent ask to kiss you deeper. You open for him and let your tongue glide into his mouth as well. You mewl into him as your arms reach around his neck. You pull away and Eddie rests his forehead on yours.
“Why don’t we get out of here?” Eddie offers. “As much as I like this, I think you deserve to be taken out on an actual date, or at least to my place where we can actually talk” You giggled and a smile spread across Eddie’s face. He had no idea how much he needed to make you laugh. If there was anything that he wanted to achieve in his life from this point on, it was to be the reason you laughed. You twirled a piece of his locks in your finger and peered up at him.
“I would really like that, Eddie.” He smiled at you and pulled himself away to do up your jeans. He reached for your hand and pulled you back towards the opening the two of you had made. He dropped your hand when you had returned to the dirt path of the maze. You walked mostly in silence, but let your shoulders knock. Eddie’s eyes migrated to your hands when his mind drifted.
“Y/N?”
“Hmm?”
“Can… Can I hold your hand?” You didn’t let Eddie respond before grabbing his calloused hands. Both of you couldn’t hold back the smiles that split across your faces. You took your time walking through the maze, cherishing the dwindling time the two of you had together.
-
It had been close to half an hour since Robin and Jonathan had met up with Nancy and Steve.
“Maybe we should send in a recon team to recover Eddie’s corpse… god knows Y/N has killed him by now.” Robin sneered.
“Oh come off it, Robin… if they aren’t here within the next 10 minutes, Jonathan and I will go get them” Steve offered, hands resting firmly on his hips.
Your figures emerge from the mouth of the maze, illuminated by the bright moon in the darkening sky. Your hands had dropped when you came into view of your exit, but your bodies remained closer than when you entered.
“Rough night?” Robin prodded. You laughed and rolled your eyes while Nancy elbowed the blonde in her ribs.
“Yeah you could say that,” you giggled. You flashed Eddie a knowing smile and his hand went to his head as he looked to the ground.
“I thought we weren’t gonna fucking make it.” He jested.
“Yeah right, you were the one that kept making wrong turns.” Your banter was back, but the rest of the group noticed the light-heartedness of your tone. Steve smiled in a small approval. He was worried he was going to have to kick Eddie’s ass tonight, but he was hopeful that things had gone well.
“Let’s get out of here, I have had enough of this maze and our movies aren’t going to watch themselves.” You send a small elbow to Eddie’s arm as the six of you head for Eddie’s van. Nancy wraps her arm in yours as you push to the front of the group.
“So… how did it go?” Nancy asked, your face couldn’t help the rouge that grew on your cheeks.
“It actually went pretty well.” you bit down on your lip to hide the smile creeping on your face.
“Girl, what is that on your neck?”

Stranger Things Than This
Chapter 1
Chapter 2: It's All About Nancy
1977
Nancy shook her head, the corner of her mouth twitching up in amusement as she listened to the rowdy hollering coming from the basement. She kept her eyes trained on the popcorn she was cooking on the stove, watching carefully as the metallic foil rose higher and higher as the kernels popped more frequently. She tossed the kernels around evenly with the flick of her wrist to avoid burning, and once the popping sounded less and less, she twisted the knob on the stove to kill the flame. As she opened up one of the cabinets to reach for one of their biggest bowls, Lucas burst out into a high-pitched laughter that was very contagious. Nancy's lips pulled back into a fullblown grin as she turned back to rip open the foil.
"It isn't funny, Lucas!" whined Dustin, and Nancy could visualize his pout, "There's nothing hilarious about casting a fire spell and watching it reverse itself right back at you."
"You didn't actually watch it-"
"Silence!" bellowed Mike, drowning out the beginning of their argument. "You foolish mortals think your silly bickering will help you fend off the feared and revered Asmodeus? The most powerful archdevil laughs at your pitiful display!"
"Stop it you guys!" Will insisted.
This was a routine that repeated itself every weekend, nearly word for word, too. Nancy wished she could say she was irritated by the constant noise and the full house, but in actuality, she was rather warmed by the company. The little bunch of nerds were quite entertaining when they immersed themselves in another world, and it occasionally had Nancy curious about the sort of fun they were always having. The shouting and the laughter that permanently echoed up the stairwell from the basement were inviting every time she would pass by.
Dustin had asked her a couple of times if she would like to join them, but any time he had invited her to their game, she was too wrapped up with homework. What could she say? She knew early on that school and grades were important if she wanted a good career when she grew older. Some girls had completely different opinions, but that was to be expected... Nancy never grew up dreaming of the perfect wedding, her dream man, what she would name her children... It all started one day at school when one of her elementary teachers simply asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and all Nancy could do was stammer, eyes wide and at a loss. What did she want to do?
Suddenly, it became very important to Nancy that she figured out that question before it was too late. So she watched, and she learned. She observed everything and everyone around her, taking in their contributions to society, and weighing her options thoughtfully. Nancy could hardly find anything that piqued her interest, but if nothing else was to be gained, she could admit to herself that she had a streak of determination running through her.
"Whoa!" the group of boys exclaimed downstairs, startling Nancy out of her reverie.
Nancy blinked away the heavy thoughts of the future and settled to live in the moment for just a second. She dumped the popcorn into the bowl, feeling a bit accomplished that there were hardly any seeds collected at the bottom. She turned towards the basement door with the bowl in her hands, and put her determination to work by striding forward and opening up the door. It was pretty thin, yet it still acted as somewhat of a sound barrier, and Nancy became aware of this fact when the shouting immediately raised in volume with the door out from between them.
"The group is wounded and vulnerable and Asmodeus is closing in... What do you choose to do, Will the Wise?" questioned Mike, his voice raised and dramatic to add flare.
"Uh," Will uttered, stalling his turn as he juggled back and forth with his options.
"He's too strong," Dustin chimed in, an almost panicked look on his face as he glanced between the table and Will. "You have to cast a protection spell."
"No way!" Lucas interjected, sitting up straight in his seat and leaning towards Will, almost as if to convey his intensity, "You have to go for it! Hit him with an ice spell."
"And what if he gets himself killed, Lucas, what then?" countered Dustin, turning on him with a serious look on his face. "Don't get yourself killed, Will,"
"He won't if he rolls high enough," said Lucas, rolling his eyes at him before turning back to Will. "You got this... I believe in the Wise,"
Will looked torn as his friends told him to do two different things. An indecisive glaze was shining evidently in his eyes as he glanced between them. Either play it safe and cast protection over his squad, leaving himself open for attack, or risk the group at an attempt at freezing Asmodeus in his tracks. A steely determination reflected in his eyes at Lucas' comment, the feeling of someone believing in him strengthening his resolve. He gathered up the dice between his hands and shook them, his eyes glued to the table before-
"Boom!" exclaimed Nancy, slamming the bowl of popcorn down onto the table between the boys.
They clearly weren't expecting the loud disruption as everyone nearly jumped out of their seats. The top layer of popcorn bounced out of the bowl and scattered across the board before falling to the ground. Will had given a start, the dice audibly clacking in his palms accidentally flying from his grasp and across the room. Nancy reveled in the starstruck looks she was receiving as they all craned their necks to look up at her from their chairs. She cleared her throat before adopting a dramatic, gruffy voice that almost could've matched her brothers.
"Time is a precious and valuable thing, humans, and I, Asmodeus have decided that you've used too much," announced Nancy, her voice rising with each word, her hand slowly reaching for the sky, "No mere protection spell could save you from me anyway!"
Nancy cackled, tossing her head back after she watched Lucas scrambling out of his chair and to his knees to find the missing dice. Dustin was hollering out for him to hurry up, hurry up, hurry up as he repeatedly slapped his hand on the table to emphasize how frantic he was. Will was watching everything and everyone, wide-eyed as he tried to figure out what exactly was going on. Mike... well... Mike was wearing a look that was a perfect mixture of sour and confused. Nancy felt herself falter momentarily before she looked away, setting her jaw.
"You can't kill what is already dead, and my army pounces, using Desecrate," boomed Nancy, a smile slipping out at the collective groan in response.
"How is this even legal?" Dustin asked, his pitch rising and his hands in his hair.
"How do you even know what you're doing?" Lucas gasped, too awed to really argue her sudden intrusion.
"Why are you even here?" demanded Mike, his eyes narrowed yet still showing betrayal in them, "I'm the Dungeon Master, this was my campaign."
"It sounded like you guys were having fun," explained Nancy, feeling the dramatics and flare draining from her body under her brother's heavy stare. "I don't know... I wanted to see what you all were up to."
"Well," drawled Mike, flicking off some of the remaining popcorn on the table, "You got to see what we were doing, so-"
"Mike, your sister's pretty cool, I think she should stay." Dustin interjected before Nancy could take Mike's words to heart.
Lucas was nodding enthusiastically before agreeing, "I wish my sister was as cool as yours, Mike. All Erica wants to do is play with dolls or trash my room when I'm gone... Maybe I should be heading home soon..."
Mike frowned as he turned his head every which way to face each of his friends, deflating as they seemed dead set on allowing Nancy to join their campaign. His last ditch effort was to look to Will, the one who was on his side no matter what scenario, the one who would surely denounce his sister's presence right along with him. To his chagrin, Will was on the edge of his seat, enthralled by Nancy’s performance in a way he only reserved during Mike’s time as Dungeon Master. With a pout, Mike sat back in his chair, his arms crossed, and conceded.
“Fine,” Mike grumbled, refusing to look at her and instead at the bowl of popcorn, “But I’m taking some popcorn”
“I made it for you guys” said Nancy with a wink, smiling when the boys cheered.
“Pretty. Cool.” said Dustin before grabbing a handful of popcorn and stuffing it into his mouth.
“Thank you,” said Will, smiling shyly as he grabbed his share.
“Can we please get back to the game?" Lucas pressed, his excitement and impatience palpable.
Four pairs of eyes turned to her, and in that moment, Nancy couldn't have been happier with the choice she made of reaching out tonight. She enjoyed the feeling of having the boys look up to her, to want her around (Mike excluded), to listen to what she has to say. It had her straightening her back and smoothing her expression, ready to fulfill the character they so badly wanted to see. What could she say? She loved to give the people what they want.

1978
Classes were getting more advanced as the next school year came around. She found herself hunched over her desk later into the evenings now that she was in middle school. There were plenty of nights where the words of her textbook were illuminated by her lamp light, and maybe it was a pain to get up the following morning, but Nancy strived to be the best, and being the best took dedication. The little rush she felt when she was called upon in class and she had the right answer drove her to read more and more, always looking to be one step ahead.
The resulting bags under her eyes were an easy fix if modern day makeup had anything to say about it. She left no indication of stress or pressure getting to her body, it was a girl thing, but she couldn’t cover it up when stress took the fight internally and left her stomach churning. That was the point where she knew she was in need of a well deserved break and had to put distance between her and her homework.
If Nancy were to go down the staircase in her house, there was always an eighty percent chance of hearing at least two out of three of Mike’s friends. That was the exact kind of distraction she needed and was hoping for as she walked step by step down the stairs and looked around. She stepped foot into the kitchen and her search was not in vain as she spotted Dustin half-buried in the fridge as he did his own searching.
"What're you guys up to?" Nancy questioned, a ghost of a smirk playing at the corner of her mouth when he jolted, causing a few things to shift and scrape against the shelf.
"Jeez!" exclaimed Dustin, his hand pressed against his racing heartbeat. "You scared the hell out of me!"
"Aren't you a little too young to be using language like that?" Nancy deadpanned, brow arched and arms crossed.
"Uh... no?"
"Not the answer I was looking for, bud," Nancy chuckled, amused by his boldness. "You guys need another player down there?"
"Uh, not this time," said Dusting, shrugging sheepishly, "We're putting our costumes together for comic con tomorrow."
"What?"
"Uh, comic con... A comic convention... Where everyone dresses up as their favorite character from-"
"I know what it is, doofus," Nancy cut him off. "I didn't know you guys were going. I haven't heard you guys talking about it."
"You've been too absorbed in school and homework to really notice lately," Dustin pointed out, not unkindly, but as if stating facts. "Not saying that's a bad thing, but we have been planning it for months now."
"Oh," said Nancy simply, startled a bit by the blunt fact thrown into her face, "What are you guys going as?"
"Our usual characters we use in our campaign... Will's going as a wizard, Lucas a Ranger, Mike a Paladin, and then there is I, the ever entertaining Bard," said Dustin theatrically, and hell if it didn't bring a smile to Nancy's face.
"That's cool,"
Nancy nodded her head and clicked her tongue. She shuffled from foot to foot, uncertain if she should ruffle through the fridge to at least attempt to look like she came down for something more than companionship. She wracked her brain and wondered how she suddenly felt so uncomfortable in her own house. She wasn't sure what else she could say... Sure, she came down with the specific purpose of socializing with the boys, but it seemed as though they didn't need or want her around at the moment. Dustin was still looking at her expectantly and she had no idea how to even respon-
"Do you wanna go with us?"
Or I could've asked that, yeah.
Nancy blinked away her surprise before attempting a nonchalant shrug to mask how thrilled she actually felt from being invited. She didn't want to seem so eager, they were children after all, and she was to a higher standard. It's just Nancy wasn't rude after all, she couldn't just reject Dustin. And she would go to keep an eye on the boys... Make sure they were safe amid the sea of dor-
Screw it, I'm going for me.
"It sounds like you guys are in need of your trusty elf," said Nancy matter-of-factly, and Dustin's resulting smile brightened his whole face.
"Okay, cool! I'll let the guys know!" he exclaimed before scrambling over to the open doorway that led down to the basement to scream down the stairs, "WE JUST AQUIRED AN ELF!"
Nancy laughed at his antics; If you've met one from the group, you've met them all. They all fit the role of the annoying brother well... aside from Will. Nancy couldn't help but to notice how extra polite and civilized the boy was compared to every other boy his age and briefly pondered how smooth life would be with him as a brother instead of Mike. After releasing a wistful sigh, she pushed herself away from the counter and followed along.
If she was being honest, Nancy had been a bit skeptical at their ability to throw something together so rushed and last minute for the comic con and it not come out tacky at best. However, she had to give credit where credit was due because while Nancy could supply a simple emerald long-sleeve dress, the boys had supplies and crafts that really put the outfit together. She was so impressed by their work that she couldn't afford to feel embarrassed by the flashing camera. Their mom encouraged the creativity and enjoyed seeing it. Their dad was glued to the chair, screen light dancing across his face, images reflected in his glasses and obscuring whether he was looking their way or not.
His lack of interest wasn't contagious as they all bustled their way out the door and into the car. It was quite a lengthy car ride, but Karen was happy to see how excited the boys and even Nancy were. It surprised her to see how absorbed and delighted her daughter was with the convention right along with them, and she wasn't going to question it. She was aware that Nancy had taken to hanging around the basement when she wasn't stuck in her room doing homework as of late, but she wouldn't have made the leap of connecting her with attending one of the conventions that hosted "nerds" as Ted would so eloquently put it.
But honestly, when the happiness was as palpable as it was amongst the group of kids, who was anyone to judge how they lived in the moment? When the car pulled up to the building being swarmed by a pretty impressive crowd, the boisterous group in the backseat unloaded before it came to a proper halt. Their eyes were wide and filled with awe as they took in their surroundings. Lucas and Dustin were going crazy pointing out several costumes while Will and Mike were yapping in Nancy's ear about getting a move on so they had time to see everything. As Nancy began walking forward to mix into the crowd, the boys trailed after like a gaggle of baby geese, and she couldn't help the affection that bloomed in her chest momentarily. This had to be the greatest day of their lives, and she was dedicated to guiding them through it. So with one last glance over her shoulder to make sure all four were accounted for, she led them through the door that was already being held open for them.
"Thank you... C'mon you guys, let's go,"
The hooting and cheering could be heard across the building.

1980
Nancy drug her hairbrush through her hair for the last time as she felt the last tangle give way. She inspected every inch of her features in the mirror, from her straightened hair, not a stray out of place, to her modest sweater and skirt ensemble she picked out for her first day of eighth grade. She gave herself a little nod to boost her own confidence and then she was out the door and trailing down the stairs to breakfast. Her mom always went all out with breakfast on the first day of school, and this year was no different. There were eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast, biscuits, you name it, she'll fry it. Her dad was already seated with his plate full ("I work hard for this food, it's only right"), his eyes downcast as he read the newspaper, too absorbed to offer more than a mumble in greeting. Mike was nibbling on a piece of buttered toast and gave her a nod when their eyes met from her spot in the threshold.
"Are we still on for the convention this weekend?" Nancy asked, referencing the comic convention that was taking place in Indianapolis that weekend that Mike and his friends were excited to go to and wanted Nancy to tag along for again.
"Uh, actually," started Mike, fidgeting uncomfortably and dropping eye contact, "The guys made a change of plans and now we're all just spending the weekend at Dustin's house. I forgot to tell you... sorry,"
"Oh," said Nancy lamely, attempting to shrug it off as nonchalantly as her brother was as she stepped closer to the table.
“Don’t you look very nice, honey," her mom chimed in from her spot at the table as she bounced the baby gently in her lap, hoping to smile wide enough to diffuse any sort of tension that just built in the matter of mere words.
“Thanks, mom,” Nancy said while pulling out her chair to take a seat and making her plate.
"Are you nervous?" her mom asked while poking at a few pieces of scrambled egg before taking a quick bite. "First day of eighth grade and all."
"I'm fine," replied Nancy, offering a small and fleeting smile before forcing herself to take a bite of her food.
"What about you Michael? Are you excited for school?"
Mike shrugged, nodded, and said, "I guess,"
"My children... so full of words," their mom quipped, looking towards their dad, "Anything you want to add, Ted?"
"Hm... eh?" mumbled Ted, blinking his way into the conversation. "Huh?"
"I wonder where they get it from," drawled Karen, rolling her eyes.
Nancy smiled around her fork at her mom's exasperation and continued eating her food. Mike scarfed down the last corner of his toast and then he was out of his chair, already shouldering his backpack just as he reached the front door. Their mom cleared her throat before he could fully twist the doorknob.
"I thought you weren't in any rush to get to school... Can't you say goodbye to your own mother's face?" she scolded, and Nancy held back a laugh as her brother sheepishly slunk his way back to the dining room.
"Sorry, mom, I was just gonna meet up with the guys and ride our bikes to school," he explained while leaning in and giving her a quick hug to make amends. "Love you, bye,"
"Love you!" Karen yelled after his retreating form just in time for the door to slam closed behind him. "Bye,"
"I should probably be leaving, too," said Nancy, setting her fork down on her half-empty plate and pushing it away before pushing her chair back enough to stand up.
"Are you sure you don't want a ride, honey?" Karen asked, and Nancy had to resist the urge to roll her eyes at the millionth repeat of the same question she had answered for the millionth time, and instead forced a smile as she threw her backpack around her shoulders.
"Yes, mom, the school isn't that far. I can walk, I promise," Nancy insisted, raising a brow, but smiling to lessen the challenging arch to it. "I could use the fresh air to clear my head before class, really,"
After a certain point, it felt a little embarrassing to have your parents drop you off at school, and Nancy wasn’t one who liked to show dependency where she could help it. She could always walk to the bus stop, but she didn't care much for the rowdy life of the bus crowd. That only left one more option: walking. It wasn't too far of a walk, Mike and his gangly friends could make the trip on bikes, so she had no doubt a brief walk would be the perfect thing to shake any residual daze of sleep from her brain.
"Listen to the girl, Karen," said Ted, his voice hollow behind the paper he didn't bother to put down, "We could use that gas for something else anyways."
"Thanks, dad," said Nancy sarcastically, but she had to admit, it put an end to her mom's insistence. "Love you both, but I have to go,"
The door closed behind her with a click and she was greeted by the morning air caressing her face and sweeping through her hair. She had to take a deep breath just for the hell of it before she started walking the familiar path that led her to school. Her fingers were wrapped tightly around the backpack straps around her shoulders, her knuckles turning white. Her spine was as straight as a rod and her eyes were set forward; She was the personification of determination, and if one were to be looking in from the outside, they would think she was marching to battle rather than eighth grade.
As she put one foot in front of the other, her mind couldn't help but to wander to the sudden cancellation of the weekend plans she had with her brother and his group of friends. Nancy made the choice to dress up one year and accompany them to one of the comic conventions, and she knew she made the right choice when the exhilirated hollering had her feeling the happiest and freest she'd ever felt. She could still feel the aching stretch of her day-long smile, and made a promise to herself to agree the next time she was asked to tag along.
And so she did. The boys approached her one evening, surrounding the kitchen island and boxing her in. Their smiles were wide and it reached all the way to their eyes, and she had to say, it felt pretty good to see the cheerfulness in her brother's eyes as well. They all rushed to explain the whole plan to her, and she had to spare a glance at each and every one of them. Their voices overlapped and their words blended together, but for the most part, she was getting the gist of it. She couldn't stop the spread of her own grin as it curled her lips upward, the excitement in the room contagious.
She didn’t hesitate with her reply, and she didn’t even feel an ounce of embarrassment for it. That was the glorious aspect of her relationship with her younger brother’s friends: she was the cool one who could do no wrong. Yet… there she was, walking to school and wondering when and why the plans had changed. Her eyes were trained forward, but they remained unseeing, or at least that’s her excuse as to why she collided with a solid frame that had her stumbling back a step.
“I’m so sorry!” Nancy apologized fretfully. “I wasn’t paying attention.”
Nancy’s hands were animatedly hovering in the air surrounding the girl, wanting to reach into her space and physically reassure, but cautious enough to not touch her at all. The taller girl merely touched the edge frame of her glasses to readjust the slightest bit but waved off her concern.
“It’s fine, really, everyone gets lost in their head sometimes," the redhead shrugged before putting out her hand. "Barbara Holland, but you can call me Barb,"
"Nancy Wheeler, but just call me Nancy," she smiled, shaking Barb's hand.
"Oh, I know who you are," said Barb simply, looking unaffected by Nancy's following stumbling.
"Oh, uh... Y-You do?"
"You've got to be the top student of our grade, with how often the teachers call on you, it would be impossible to not know your name." Barb teased, the corners of her eyes crinkling with her smile when Nancy ducked her head.
"I wouldn't say that," Nancy tried to deny, her cheeks red, and Barb was raising her hands peacefully.
"There's nothing wrong with an intelligent young woman who isn't afraid to show it."
Nancy's smile felt wavering as she mulled over Barb's words. She wasn't entirely aware of how often she knew the answer and had her hand shot straight into the air. She felt a bit called out, but was soothed with the acknowledgment of being seen and respected rather than mocked. She accepted the thrill rushing through her at the validation, and took the words to heart. The next time her eyes met Barb's, an apology was shining deep in them.
"I'm sorry I didn't recognize you,"
Barb shrugged before saying, "It's a big school to get lost in... Speaking of, I'm assuming that's where you were headed?"
"Fantastic detective skills you got there, that's exactly where I was headed before I ran right into you," Nancy joked. "Are you walking or are you taking the bus?"
"I usually take the bus, but I can make an exception today... Either way, we should probably get going," said Barb, already taking a small step in the direction of the school to get Nancy moving along. "I have a really good friend who I think you'd get along with."
"If they're as cool as you are, we'll click as easily as this," said Nancy, keeping in step with Barb as they cut across the streets leading to school.
Along the way, she learned of the Holland family just recently moving to Hawkins ("I just don't get it, I've been here my whole life and I'd do anything to get out."), how she joined band the following school year and met her best friend ("Robin really helped me feel right at home here in Hawkins, almost like I knew her my whole life."), that despite her flaming red hair, she actually didn't care for the harshness of the color ("Robin told me once that the color blue has a calming effect on the brain."). Before they knew it, they could see a slowly moving crowd circling the school building and Nancy was surprised by the sudden disappointment weighing down her gut. She turned, her neck craning up to face Barb, and she wore a nervous little smile that was barely there.
"Did... did you want to sit together in class?" she cursed the slight waver to her voice, but she wasn't taking the request back.
"Sure!" said Barb cheerfully, her bright smile melting away the icy tendrils of doubt. "Robin's in one of our classes, too, so I'll tell her to sit with us."
Nancy mirrored her megawatt grin before ducking her head. She couldn’t help but to briefly reflect on her instant change of mood once she literally ran into Barb. Being ditched by her brother and his group of friends left her in a low mood, but she was lifted higher than before with good company. Nancy looked back up and opened her mouth to-
“Barb! Where’ve you been?” a raspy voice called out, cutting Nancy off before she could start. “I waited for you to get off the bus but you never did.”
Nancy's mouth snapped closed, her teeth clacking in the process. Her and Barb both turned at the same time towards the source of the interrupting voice, and Nancy was met yet again with an unfamiliar face. Said face was curtained by choppy, sandy brown hair, her unruly bangs hanging low into blue, puzzled eyes. She was as tall as Barb was and Barb was towering over Nancy. Freckles were scattered across her cheeks, and Nancy briefly felt the urge to count them. The girl had an awkward, gangly frame, but it was hard to tell underneath the boyish clothes covering her up. There was a crease weighing between her brow as she frowned.
“Robin!” exclaimed Barb, guilt suddenly written all over her face. “Sorry, I ran into Nancy-”
“More like I ran into her ,” corrected Nancy, unable to stop herself, and felt a bit awkward when two pairs of eyes turned to her. “I’m sorry I talked you into skipping the bus.”
“Hey, it’s okay,” Barb assured her before turning back to Robin, “We ran into each other on the way here and got to talking. I was thinking she could join our little circle.”
“Who’s all in your little circle?”
“Me and Barb,” said Robin simply, her eyes calculating as she looked Nancy up and down.
“Oh,” said Nancy, at a loss for words, and luckily Barb was there at her aid.
“You know we share Science with Nancy, maybe she can sit with us, and I was thinking she could join us at lunch, too.” Barb chimed in, her smile both pleading and hopeful.
“Uh, sure,” Robin agreed tentatively, her eyes glancing between Barb and Nancy before looking down. “I guess we can,”
“You sure?” Barb pressed, her hope visible, but she was kind enough to offer an extra out.
“The more the merrier,” said Robin, the words feeling as forced as her smile, and while Barb picked up on how shaky the assurance was, she wasn't going to overstep her way out of the delicate invitation she was extending to Nancy.
"This is going to be so awesome," Barb insisted, hoping that if she smiled wide enough it would encourage Robin to do the same, "It'll be cool for us to have another friend. Then, we could actually call ourselves a group."
"Technically we'd be a Trio," muttered Robin, still looking away, "Four would make a group,"
"Robin knows all sorts of facts," said Barb rather proudly, and when Nancy glanced Robin's way, she could see a light pink coloring her cheeks.
"Usually random, useless facts, but if you ever get bit by a bat, get tested right away," Robin insisted before turning away at the first bell. "We need to go or we'll be late."
And with that she was headed towards the building, just barely straggling enough for the other two to keep up as they chatted a bit more before class. Nancy felt a sense of relief and contentment at the easy flow of her conversation with Barb, and felt such ease at the prospect of a newfound (best) friendship. She felt her smile slipping as her eyes locked onto Robin's back and suddenly she felt like an intruder. Robin made no outright claim of hating or refusing Nancy's presence, but there was a hesitation there that she couldn't help but notice. But if she wanted to befriend Barb, she would aim to gain Robin's friendship as well. After all, she couldn't stand the thought of coming between best friends.

You drum your hand against the wheel off your dad’s car as the familiar streets of Hawkins pass by outside. The summer breeze swooping over your face through the rolled down window, tingling your skin as it carries a mix of nostalgia and anticipation.
It’s been a year since you left for college, and you came back last night to spend the summer with your family. The small town hasn’t changed much, but you can’t help but notice the few subtle differences in the familiar surroundings as you drive towards Family Video.
You can’t wait to see Steve again, feeling a rush of excitement and nerves at the thought of reuniting with him. You were actually not supposed to return to Hawkins until next week, but after being away for a whole year you had made the decision to come home a little earlier. So, here you are, cruising down Main Street, heading towards the one place you know Steve will be. Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington, your best friend in the whole world, and the boy you’ve been in love with since middle school, but that love has always remained unspoken. Your feelings for Steve being your deepest secret.
As you pull up to the familiar red brick building of Family Video and park a little down the street from the store, you spot Steve’s merlot colored BMW and your heart skips a beat. You take a deep breath to calm your nerves before stepping out on the sidewalk, the pavement beneath your feet echoing the memories of your childhood, all the times you and Steve had rented movies together, arguing over which one to choose and then staying up all night watching them and talking about everything and nothing, the laughter and the inside jokes shared between the two of you.
Steve was always there, effortlessly charming and protective. The thought of seeing Steve after almost a year sends butterflies fluttering in your stomach. You wonder if he feels the same way, if he’s missed you as much as you’ve missed him. The anticipation builds with every passing step, and you can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness as you approach the building.
You can’t help but smile as you push open the door and are immediately greeted by the familiar sight of rows and rows of VHS tapes, the little bell above the door chiming merrily as you enter. The store is quiet, except for the soft humming of fluorescent lights and the gentle whir of VHS tapes being rewound. And there he is. Steve is standing behind the counter, his hair perfectly styled as always. You feel how your smile widens as you spot him, exactly as you remember him. His arms bulking under the short sleeves of his t-shirt, and you feel how your smile turns softer as you spot the little orange name tag reading ‘Steve’ tagged to the right side of his green work vest.
Steve’s eyes widen as he catches sight of you, and a wide grin spreads across his face. Your name escaping from his lips in a surprised squeal. And before you even get to step much further into the store, Steve’s already placed his hands on the counter and in his excitement to see you he jumps over it, too eager to use the extra five seconds it would take to go around it.
You let out a surprised giggle as Steve vaults over the obstacle, landing gracefully in front of you. His honey brown eyes sparkle with delight, mirroring the joy radiating from your own. Without a second thought, he wraps his arms around you in a tight hug, enveloping you in warmth and familiarity. The familiar scent of his cologne envelopes you as he pulls you close, his arms wrapping securely around your body.
“I thought you weren’t supposed to be back until next week,” Steve murmurs into your hair, his voice filled with genuine affection and happy surprise.
“I wasn’t, but I thought I would surprise you, I flew in last night,” you reply, a smile playing on your lips as you lean back to look at his face. Steve’s smile widens even further, his eyes sparkling with happiness.
“Well, surprise me, you did!” he exclaims, his tone laced with excitement. You feel a rush of relief wash over you as you realize that Steve is just as happy to see you as you are to see him. It’s not that you had thought he wouldn’t be, but it’s still nice to be confirmed about it. “I’ve missed you,” he admits, his voice soft and sincere.
“I’ve missed you too,” you reply, feeling a wave of warmth and affection wash over you. For a moment, you both just stand there, holding onto each other, caught up in the emotions of the reunion. The world outside fades away, leaving just the two of you, wrapped up in the warm hug.
Eventually, Steve pulls back slightly, his hands resting on your shoulders as he looks into your eyes, a soft smile playing on his lips. “I’m so glad you’re back,” he says, his voice filled with sincerity.
“Me too,” you reply, a smile tugging at your lips. “You got plans later?” you ask, not wanting to waste a single moment of your time back in Hawkins.
Steve shakes his head, his smile widening. “Nope, nothing I can’t blow off, I just have to work for another three hours or so and then I’m all yours,” he replies with a wink. You feel a surge of happiness at his words, knowing that you have the whole evening to spend with Steve.
“You don’t have to blow off plans because of me,” you say, even though you know you would do the same for him in a heartbeat.
“Don’t worry about it, it’s just Henderson, I told him I would help him change his bike, he can wait till tomorrow. Besides, I’d much rather spend time with you than anything else,” Steve reassures you, his eyes filled with warmth and sincerity.
You are just about to say something, what you don’t even know, the intensity of his stare making your heart race, when suddenly a loud crash echoes off the world followed by a ‘oh, shit’.
Robin comes bursting through the back door of the store, a sheepish expression on her face as she tries to regain her composure, a giant pile of video tapes at her feet. Steve rolls his eyes at her, but there’s a fondness in his gaze and a sweet smile on his lips as he turns away from you to help his coworker pick up the tapes she dropped.
“I told you not to carry that many at once,” he chuckles as he squats down to help her. You can’t help but notice how nice his ass looks in those jeans he is wearing,  your face getting a little warmer as you walk over to help too.
“Oh my gosh, you’re here!” Robin exclaims, her eyes widening in surprise as she looks up at you.
You can’t help but grin at her, her excitement for seeing you is sweet and infectious. “I am,” you reply, smiling back at her as you begin helping to pick up the scattered VHS tapes. Robin stands up, a bright smile on her face as she hugs you tightly, which surprises you slightly, but you hug her back, nonetheless.
Her and Steve had become friends last summer as they started to work together at Scoop Ahoy, you had already left for college by then as you had decided to start early with a summer semester. But you had had a few classes with her in high school since she was only a year younger than you and Steve and you have heard much about her from Steve’s phone calls and letters in the last year since the two of them had become such good friends
“I thought you’d first come back next week? Steve has been counting down the days like a kid waiting for Christmas,” Robin says as she lets go of you, teasing Steve as she hands him a few VHS tapes to put back on the shelves. “Do you know how much he talks about you? He practically hasn’t stopped talking about you since you left for college.”she continues with a mischievous grin. Steve blushes slightly, shooting a playful glare at Robin as he finishes organizing the tapes.
“Shut up, Robin,” he mutters, but there is a fondness in his tone that doesn’t go unnoticed.
You laugh at Robin’s teasing, shooting a playful glare in Steve’s direction. “Oh really? I had no idea I was that missed,” you say, a hint of sarcasm in your tone as you help Steve with the tapes.
Steve just grins sheepishly as the pink blush on cheeks darken ever so slightly. “Okay, okay, guilty as charged. I might have mentioned you a couple of times,” he admits, his eyes shining with amusement.
You can’t help but feel a warm, fluttery feeling in your chest at Steve’s admission. It’s comforting to know that he has been thinking about you as much as you have been thinking about him. You know that the feelings you have for Steve run deep, deeper than just friendship. But you also know that it’s a delicate balance, and you don’t want to ruin the friendship that means so much to you. So for now, you’ll just enjoy being back in Hawkins, spending time with Steve, and soaking up every moment of summer before you have to head back to college in the fall.
As you finish organizing the VHS tapes with Steve and Robin, you glance over at Steve, his eyes meeting yours with a warmth that makes your heart skip a beat. You know that no matter what the future holds, you have this moment, this summer, and the memories you’ll make together to carry with you. And for now, that’s enough. Despite the feelings you have for him he is your friend first and foremost, and that will always be the most important.
The bell over the door chimes again, and before neither you nor Steve can react, Robin has already headed for the counter, “I’ll take this one,” she exclaims, leaving you and Steve to stand alone by the back door.
“So, yeah… That’s Robin for you,” Steve says with a chuckle, shaking his head fondly as he looks after her.
“She seems cool,” you reply, smiling at the easy camaraderie between the two of them.
“She’s the best,” Steve says, his voice filled with genuine affection for his friend before you both fall into a short moment of silence as you both process that you’re back in Hawkins.
“So, what do you want to do later?” Steve asks, breaking the silence, running a hand through his fluffy hair.
“I’m up for anything,” you reply, feeling a rush of excitement at the thought of spending time with Steve. Steve grins, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
“Well, as I said before I still have three hours left of my shift, but how about you go home and I finish up here, then I can come pick you up later, we can pick up food from Benny’s or wherever you prefer and just catch up,” he suggests.
“That sounds perfect,” you say, feeling a warm glow of happiness at the simple yet perfect plan. Steve reaches out to take your hand, his grip warm and comforting.
“Great,” he says, a smile playing on his lips. “It’s good to have you back.”
You squeeze his hand in return, feeling the familiar warmth of his touch. “It’s good to be back.”
With a final squeeze of your hand, Steve turns back towards the counter, leaving you with a smile on your face as you head out of the store. The early afternoon sun, warm and golden as you make your way back to your dad’s car. As you drive home, you can’t help but feel a sense of contentment wash over you. The familiar sights and sounds of Hawkins fill you with a sense of nostalgia, but also a renewed sense of excitement for the summer ahead. You can’t wait to spend more time with Steve, catching up on everything that’s happened in the past year and just enjoying each other’s company.

Steve can’t help but look out the glass door even long after you left, a smile still lingering on his lips. Robin watches him with a knowing smile, leaning against the counter.
“Looks like you’re happy she’s back,” she teases, raising an eyebrow. Steve turns to her, a genuine smile on his face.
“Of course I am, I’ve missed her,” he admits, his voice soft. Robin nods in understanding, her expression softening.
“I can tell, It’s good to see you two back together, it’s like you never missed a beat,” she says, her tone filled with warmth. Steve’s smile grows at her words, grateful for her understanding.
“Yeah, she’s my best friend. Always has been,” he says, his eyes reflecting the truth of his words but he knows that there’s more to it than just friendship, at least from his part. He’s loved you for so long, but he’s always been too afraid to say anything, worried that it might ruin the bond you share.
Robin nods in agreement, a small teasing smile on her lips. “You should tell her, you know,” Robin says, her tone gentle but firm. Steve looks at her, surprise evident in his expression.
“Tell her what?” he asks, even though he knows exactly what she’s referring to. Robin rolls her eyes, shaking her head slightly.
“That you’re in love with her, you idiot,” she says, her teasing smile turning into a knowing one. Steve’s heart skips a beat at her words, the weight of his feelings for you suddenly feeling heavier. He runs a hand through his hair, contemplating her suggestion.
“I can’t,” he finally says, the words heavy with regret. “I can’t risk losing her.”
Robin gives him a sympathetic look, understanding his fear but also seeing the longing in his eyes. “You won’t know until you try, Steve. Life is too short to hold back on your feelings,” she says, her voice gentle but firm.
Steve sighs, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “I don’t want to ruin what we have,” he admits, his voice filled with sadness. Robin walks over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder in a comforting gesture.
“You won’t ruin anything, Steve. You both care about each other deeply, I can see that, and I’m like the most clueless person ever, you’ve literally told me that. So if I can see it then it must be real. If anything, being honest about your feelings might just bring you closer together,” she says, her words filled with wisdom.
“I can’t risk it, okay. Besides, how do I even know if she feels the same way?” Steve asks, his voice filled with uncertainty. “She’s also, like, way out of my league.”
“You were literally one of the most popular boys in school, you were king Steve, for christ sake,” Robin chuckles, shaking her head.
“Yeah, and now I’m a loser working full time at Family Video while she is off to college living her best life,” Steve replies, a hint of self-deprecation in his tone.
Robin gives him a knowing look, her eyes soft. “Steve, you’re an amazing guy, and anyone would be lucky to have you. Including her,” she says, her voice reassuring. Steve looks at her, gratitude evident in his gaze. “Even if you’re a loser now. Also ouch, don’t disrespect Family Video’s dedicated employees like that.”
Steve chuckles, a small smile tugging at his lips, but his smile quickly falls, his heart pounding heavy in his chest. “But what if she doesn’t feel the same way? What if I lose her?” he asks, his voice filled with fear.
Robin sighs, giving him a knowing look. “You won’t know until you try. And trust me, she cares about you just as much as you care about her. Take a chance, Steve. You never know what might happen,” she says, her words filled with sincerity.
“Hmm…” Steve hums, feeling torn as he molds her words over. His mind racing with thoughts and doubts. But deep down, he knows that Robin might be right. He can’t keep his feelings hidden forever, and if he never takes a chance, he might never know what could have been. Maybe you’re right,” he mumbles, his voice filled with uncertainty.
“Of course I am, Harrington,” she says with a smile before turning to attend to a customer who has walked into the store.
· · · · ·
You are standing in front of the full length mirror of your childhood bedroom, taking a moment to collect your thoughts. It’s been a little over four hours since you left Family Video and you know that Steve can be here any minute and as much as you want to suppress it, you can’t deny the flutter of excitement in your stomach.
It’s weird really. You have known that you have feelings for him for years, but you have always been able to keep them in check, to keep them hidden, buried deep beneath the surface, never wanting them to potentially ruin your friendship.
Taking a deep breath, you smooth down your outfit, trying to calm your nerves. You’ve never before been nervous to see Steve, but something about coming back after a year away has got you feeling all jittery.
But you’re brought out of your thoughts as you hear a car pull up in the driveway, your heart skips a beat. You take one last look in the mirror, a determined look in your eyes, before heading downstairs to greet Steve. The doorbell rings, and you can feel how your heart beats a little faster in your chest.
Opening the door, you’re met with Steve’s bright smile and warm gaze. The green Family Video vest has been disposed of, and he has changed his shirt that’s now under a thin jacket as well, but he is still wearing the jeans that have been clinging to your thoughts since earlier in the day. He looks as effortlessly charming as always, even though you’re one of the few people who knows how much Farrah Fawcett spray he really goes through to get that perfect hair. You’ve been best friends forever, after all; you know all of his secrets, or so you think.
“Hey,” he says, his eyes lighting up as he sees you. His silhouette glows in the golden light of the low hanging, evening sun and it is making his brown hair shine like spun gold. You feel how your heart skips a beat at the sight of him. You’ve missed him so much and the familiar warmth of his smile makes you feel like you’re finally truly home. You are so captivated by it that it takes you a moment to notice the bouquet of bright colored flowers in his hand, your heart fluttering at the sight.
“Hey,” you reply, softly returning his smile as you step out onto the porch. “Are those flowers?”
“Ye-yeah,” Steve stammers, a slight blush tinting his cheeks as he holds out the bouquet towards you. “You kind of surprised me, I thought I had a week more to get you a ‘welcome back’ present,” he explains, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand.
“Gee, Harrington, you really know how to make a girl feel special, if people saw us they would think you were taking me on a date or something,” you tease, a playful smile dancing on your lips as you try to play it cool, but on the inside your heart is racing. Even just the idea of Steve giving you flowers in a romantic way sends a thrill through you.
Steve blushes slightly at your comment, a sheepish smile on his face as he hands you the bouquet. “Sorry, I just wanted to do something nice for you.”
You take the bouquet, the sweet scent of the flowers filling your nostrils as you admire them. “Don’t apologize. They’re beautiful. Thank you, Stevie,” you say, a warm smile on your face as you look up at him. The nickname falls so naturally from your lips, a nickname only you really use. You had called him Stevie Nicks after he one time in freshman year had nicked himself shaving, and had to wear a bandage on his jaw for a few days. Stevie had just kind of stuck ever since. “But you seriously didn’t have to get me anything.”
“Maybe, not, but I wanted to,” Steve replies with a shrug of his shoulders, his eyes meeting yours with sincerity. You feel a rush of warmth in your chest at his words. “I’m glad you like them,” he adds, a soft smile playing on his lips.
“I should probably get them in some water,” you say, breaking eye contact as you turn to head inside. Steve follows you, stepping through the door to follow you into the house.
As you enter the kitchen to find a vase for the flowers, Steve takes a moment to look around your childhood home, taking in the familiar surroundings. “It’s good to have you back,” he says, his voice filled with nostalgia.
You nod in agreement, a soft smile on your lips. “It feels good to be back,” you reply, turning to face Steve. There’s a moment of silence between the two of you, the air filled with unspoken words and emotion. You notice how something flickers in Steve’s eyes, something soft, he is just about to open his mouth to say something, but he doesn’t get the chance to before your mother steps into the room, a bright smile on her face as she greets Steve warmly.
She’s always been fond of Steve, treating him like a second son. “Steve, it’s so good to see you! How have you been?” she asks, her voice filled with genuine interest as she moves to give him a hug. Steve returns the hug, a smile on his face as he answers her questions and engages in friendly conversation while you take care of the flowers.
You watch the interaction between Steve and your mother, feeling a warmth in your chest at the sight. Steve has always been welcomed with open arms in your family, and it feels so right to have him here with you, their chipper chatter turning into sweet background noise as you busy yourself with cutting the stems of the flowers, letting yourself get lost in thoughts.
“Oh, my,” your mother says, as she finally notices the giant beautiful bouquet you’re arranging, she had been so excited to talk to Steve that she hadn’t even seen what you were doing.
“Yeah, they’re beautiful, aren’t they,” you reply with a smile, setting the vase with the now arranged flowers on the middle of the kitchen island. “They are a ‘welcome home’ present from Steve, if you can believe it,” you add with a teasing grin, glancing over at Steve who is blushing slightly at the attention.
“Of course I can believe it. He’s always been such a gentleman,” your mother comments, giving Steve a warm smile.
“I don’t know about that,” he mumbles, rubbing the back of his neck a little self-consciously, but your mom simply laughs, giving him a playful look.
“Oh, come on, Steve. Don’t be modest,” she says, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “You’ve always been such a sweet boy,” she insists as she pats his arm affectionately..
Steve smiles back at her, his cheeks still slightly flushed. “I try to be,” he says, his voice filled with warmth.
Your mother then turns to you, a curious glint in her eye. “So, are you two going out tonight?” she asks, a knowing smile on her face.
“We’re just going to grab some food and catch up,” you reply, trying to play it cool, giving you mom a stern look to prevent her from teasing further.
“Well ,I’m going to leave you to it then,” she says, “have fun, you two,” giving you both a smile before heading out of the room and leaving you and Steve alone once again.
You turn back to Steve, a nervous energy buzzing between you. “So, Benny’s?” you suggest, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves at the prospect of spending tonight with Steve.
“Yeah, sounds good to me,” Steve replies, his smile warm and inviting as he takes a step closer to you, a comfortable silence settling between the two of you.
As you make your way out of the house and into Steve’s car, a feeling of contentment washes over you. Despite the crushing weight of your true feelings for him, being with Steve is easy, it feels like coming home. You can’t help but feel a sense of warmth and comfort as the car pulls out of the driveway and onto the familiar streets of Hawkins, the memories of your shared past flooding your mind.
You sit in silence for a short while, Steve’s eyes firmly planted on the road ahead and yours on the passing scenery, but you can’t help occasionally glancing over at him, taking in the sight of him driving so effortlessly, his profile bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun. The warmth of his presence fills you with a sense of peace, a feeling of being exactly where you’re supposed to be.
But after a little while Steve breaks the silence, his voice gentle as he speaks. “So, what’s college like?”
“I don’t know, it’s like…” What is it like? “I mean it is cool, but…”  your voice trails off.
“But?” His voice is gentle as he prompts you to continue.
“I don’t even know,” you confess. “It’s just different, you know? Different from high school, at least, that’s for sure.”
Steve nods in understanding, his gaze flicking over to you briefly before returning to the road. “Yeah, I can imagine. It must be a big change,” he says, his voice filled with empathy.
“Yeah, but it’s also been good, I’ve met some amazing people and learned so much,” you explain, trying to put your feelings into words. “Got some really cool new friends.”
“Oh, should I be worried?” Steve teases, a playful glint in his eyes as he shoots you a smirk.
You playfully nudge him, a smirk tugging at your lips. “Don’t worry, you’ll always be my number one,” you reassure him, a warm smile on your face as you feel a rush of affection for your best friend. Steve returns your smile, his eyes soft as he looks at you.
“Good to know,” he says, his voice filled with warmth before another stretch of silence settles between the two of you, each lost in your own thoughts, until Steve breaks the silence yet again. “And uh… Those college boys treating you all right?”
“Yeah, they’re all right,” you reply, trying to keep your tone casual even though your heart skips a beat at his question.
“That’s… That’s good,” Steve says, his voice laced with a hint of something you can’t quite place.
The truth is you have never really been that interested in any of the guys you’ve met at college. You’ve kissed a few at some parties, but you’ve not been doing more than that after you left for college. None of them have made your heart race or your stomach flip like you had hoped they would.
You had dated a few boys in highschool, and it had been nice enough, but nothing ever really felt quite right. You had told yourself that it was just a matter of finding the right person, but deep down, you had always known who that right person was. Steve. It was always Steve who made your heart race with just a smile, who made you feel warm and happy just by being in his presence.
But you had also always pushed those feelings down, telling yourself that it was just a silly crush on your best friend, that it was normal to have those feelings for someone you were so close to. But deep down, you knew that you were doomed.
It had been hard to see Steve be the popular guy in high school, dating other girls and being adored by everyone, while you stayed by his side as his best friend, silently loving him from afar. But you never let it show, always supportive and happy for him, even though it hurt to see him with someone else.
But now, sitting beside him in the car after being apart for so long, the weight of your feelings for him is pressing heavy on your chest.
“And how have you been?” you ask, changing the subject slightly, your voice laced with genuine interest.
Steve shrugs, a small smile on his lips. “I’ve been good. Just working and hanging out, nothing too exciting,” he replies, his tone casual. But you can see a hint of something in his eyes, a depth that hints at more going on beneath the surface.
“Just same old, same old, huh?” you tease, a playful glint in your eyes as you look over at him.
Steve chuckles, a warm sound that fills the car. “Yeah, pretty much,” he replies, his smile widening.
“Hanging out with Robin,” you tease with a lifted brow and a little smile.
Steve chuckles, a slight blush tinting his cheeks. “Yeah, Robin has been keeping me entertained, that’s for sure,” he admits, a playful glint in his eyes. “But she’s a good friend, you know that.”
You nod in understanding, a warm feeling swelling in your chest at the mention of Robin. “Yeah, she seems really cool. I’m glad you have her,” you say, genuinely happy for Steve.
“Yeah, me too,” he nods a warm smile tugging at his lips before he continues. “But, eh, it is just platonic, by the way. Like, platonic with a capital,” he adds.
“Mm, I see,” you reply, still keeping the teasing tone, but you know that what he’s saying is true, and if your intuition is right, you know that you have absolutely no need to worry about it changing anytime in the future. You’re happy that Steve has a good friend in Robin. “And how’s Dustin and the other’s doing?”
“Dustin’s good, the other kiddos are good” Steve says, a fondness in his voice as he talks about them. “Lucas and Max keep breaking up and getting back together again though. He keeps coming to me for advice, as if I would have a clue about what to do.”
“Oh, young love,” you reply with a small chuckle, shaking your head. “They’ll figure it out eventually.”
As you continue to chat and catch up on each other’s lives on the drive to Benny’s, you feel a sense of peace settle over you. The easy banter between the two of you fills you with a sense of comfort, a reminder of the deep bond you share and before you know it you roll up in front of the burger shop.
As Steve parks the car, the two of you get out and head inside, a familiar sense of nostalgia washing over you as you step into the cozy diner. You decide to get your orders to go and soon you are back in the car with the food in your lap, the warm paper bags warming your thighs as Steve put in the key to start the engine.
“I thought we could go to the lake and eat there,” Steve suggests, his eyes sparkling with excitement as he looks over at you.
“Lover’s lake?” you tease, raising an eyebrow at him with a playful grin. Steve blushes slightly, but his smile widens at your comment.
“Hey, it’s just a nice spot to eat, okay?” he defends himself, but you’re not oblivious to the way his eyes soften as he looks at you.
You laugh, feeling a rush of warmth at his choice of location. “I’m just messing with you, Stevie. Lover’s lake it is,” you say, a smile playing on your lips as you settle back in your seat.
As Steve starts the car and drives towards the lake, the anticipation of spending time with him in such a familiar and special place fills you with excitement. The sun is beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the landscape as you arrive at the lake, the water shimmering in the fading light.
You find a spot to park, overlooking the water as you sit on the hood of his car like you’ve done so many times before. You’d never be able to count the amount of times you’ve sat like this with him all over Hawkins, but you have never taken you here before, not unless it was with a group of friends since you were kids. It was like when you turned teenagers the implication of the ‘Lover’s’ name kept you away, even though you had played there so much as kids.
You remember how you and Steve would run around the wooded area, skipping rock on the water and building forts out of fallen branches. The memories flood your mind, a wave of nostalgia washing over you as you take in the sight of the lake at dusk. You’re brought out of your memories as Steve hands you your food and some napkins, a warm smile on his face. You thank him as you fold out one of the thin paper napkins and place it over your lap.
“Been awhile since I was here last, I almost forgot how beautiful it is,” you comment, your eyes tracing the ripples on the water as the last rays of the sun dance on its surface.
Steve nods in agreement, his eyes soft as he looks out at the scene. “It’s always been one of my favorite spots in Hawkins,” he says, his voice filled with nostalgia.
“You’ve taken a lot of girls here before?” you tease, a playful glint in your eye as you take a bite of your burger. Steve chuckles, shaking his head.
“Not really, actually. Just you,” he admits, his voice soft. Your heart skips a beat at his words, feeling a rush of warmth and affection towards him. You can’t help but feel a pang of hope at the thought that maybe, just maybe, he feels the same way about you. “It would be a little too cliché to bring a girl here, don’t you think?” he adds with a playful grin. You laugh, feeling a happy warmth spreading through you at his words.
“You should have told that to Marcus Jenkins. Did you know I popped my cherry in the cargo bed of his dad’s pickup truck? Marcus borrowed it one night and we drove out here. Took me at least 30 minutes to get rid of all the pine needles and dirt afterwards,” you laugh as you recall the awkward memory of your first time, too lost in the memory to notice that Steve hasn’t joined in on your laughter or how his face falls slightly, your gaze fixed on the water.
“Nah, I didn’t know that,” he says, his voice sounding a bit strained as he looks away, his jaw clenched.
You nod, feeling a rush of embarrassment at the memory but also a sense of humor about it now.
“I played basketball with him, you never said anything,” he adds, his voice low to the point that you could barely make out what he was saying. You turn to look at him, noticing the slight tension in his shoulders and the distant look in his eyes.
“We just saw each other for a few months. You were dating Nancy Wheeler so you were pretty occupied at that time” you explain, feeling a pang of guilt at bringing up a past lover. “Plus, it’s not like it was anything serious with Marcus, I didn’t think it was important to tell you, I didn’t have a suspicion that you and him were particularly close outside of basketball,” you add quickly, trying to ease the tension as you think he feels betrayed that you didn’t tell him about being with one of his friends.
“It’s fine, really,” he says, his tone casual even though his eyes betray a different story. “It’s just, I never imagined you with him, that’s all. Especially not in the back of a pick up truck.” he adds.
You can sense that there’s something more to his reaction, something deeper that he’s not saying. You want to ask him about it, to dig deeper into what’s going on in his mind, but you hesitate, not wanting to push him too much, so you decide to try to turn the conversation in a lighter direction.
“Now what’s that supposed to mean,” you tease playfully, a small grin on your face as you bump your shoulder against his in a playful manner. Steve looks over at you, a small smile tugging at his lips as he meets your gaze.
“Oh, you know, just never saw you as a pine needle and dirt kind of girl,” he quips, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
You can’t help but laugh at his comment, feeling the tension from before fading a little as you fall back into your easy banter. “Are you calling me a prude, Steve Harrington?”
Steve chuckles, a warm sound filling the air between you. “Not at all, just saying I always saw you as more of a classy lady,” he replies, his tone filled with playful teasing. You can’t help but smile at his words, feeling a rush of warmth at the easy camaraderie between the two of you.
“Sure,” you reply, a smile playing on your lips as you take another bite of your burger. The two of you fall into a comfortable silence, the sound of the crickets chirping in the background, the fading light casting a warm glow over the scene as you slowly finish your meal. You gather your napkins and fry wrappers in the empty burger bag before Steve jumps down from the hood to throw them out in a nearby trash can.
Remember when we used to come here all the time as kids?” Steve says suddenly, his voice soft as he breaks the silence as he walks back to you, taking a seat on the hood next to you once again as he pulls a pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket. The nostalgia in his voice tugs at your heartstrings, reminding you of the countless happy memories you’ve shared at Lover’s Lake.
“Yeah, those were some of the best times,” you reply, a warm smile on your face as you reminisce on the carefree days of your childhood. “We were always getting into some kind of mischief.”
Steve chuckles, nodding in agreement as he lights his cigarette and takes a deep drag before offering you the pack and lighter. You accept and pull one out of the carton, but before you can take the lighter from him he has already lit it, his hand shielding the flame from the soft breeze. You lean in and pull life into the cigarette, feeling the smoke fill your lungs as you exhale slowly.
“I miss those days,” Steve admits, his voice tinged with nostalgia as he puts the lighter and pack of smokes back in his pocket. “Life was so much simpler back then.”
You nod in agreement, taking in the peaceful surroundings of the lake. The sun has almost fully disappeared over the horizon, leaving the sky painted in shades of pink and orange. The sound of crickets fills the air, and a gentle breeze rustles the leaves of the surrounding trees.
“Me too,” you say softly, exhaling a plume of smoke as you lean back against the windshield of the car and a little stretch of silence unfolds between you as you both sit in shared reminiscence of the past, slowly finishing your cigarettes.
“I’ve really missed you, you know,” Steve says, breaking the silence with a soft tone, his voice filled with sincerity.
You turn to look at him, feeling a rush of emotion at his words. “I’ve missed you too, Steve,” you reply, a soft smile playing on your lips. “It’s been so weird being away from Hawkins for so long.”
“I know what you mean,”  Steve nods, a look of understanding in his eyes. “It’s been weird being here without you, it’s just not the same without you around.”
You feel a rush of warmth and affection for him at his words, a surge of emotion swelling in your chest. You want to tell him how much he means to you, how much you’ve missed him, but the words stick in your throat, fear and uncertainty holding you back. Before you can say anything, Steve clears his throat, his eyes meeting yours with a soft gaze.
“You know as a kid, I never really imagined my life without you in it,” he admits, his voice filled with sincerity and vulnerability. “You’ve always been such a good friend, even when I wasn’t the best person in high school, you were always there for me. I just… I don’t know what I would do without you.”
Your heart swells at his words, feeling a wave of emotion wash over you. The depth of his feelings for you is clear in his words, his vulnerability touching something deep within you. You reach out and place a hand on his arm, giving it a gentle squeeze as you meet his gaze.
“Can I tell you a secret?” he asks, his voice soft and vulnerable.
“Of course,” you reply, your voice equally soft as you look into his eyes.
“I was so relieved when me and Nancy broke up. I know it sounds terrible, but it was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. And then she got with Jonathan, and I was just so happy that I wasn’t standing in the way for that anymore,” he confesses. “And every date I’ve been on after has been a disaster, but for some reason I’ve been relieved about that too, cause I really couldn’t see myself being with any of them.”
You listen to his confession, feeling a mix of emotions swirling inside you. Part of you is relieved to hear that he felt the same way about his past relationships as you did, but another part of you can't help but hope that maybe, just maybe, his feelings may extend beyond friendship for you. You take a deep breath, summoning your courage to speak the words that have been weighing on your heart for so long.
“Has there ever been someone you could see yourself being with?” you ask, your voice soft but filled with hope and vulnerability. Steve looks at you, his eyes searching yours for a moment before a small smile tugs at his lips.
“There has always been this one girl, I kind of thought I would grow up to marry her when I was a kid,” he admits, his voice filled with emotion. “She’s always been there for me, through thick and thin, and I can’t imagine my life without her in it.”
You feel your heart race at his words, a rush of emotion swelling inside you. You open your mouth but before you can say anything to answer him, a loud splash breaks the moment, causing you both to jump and turn towards the sound.
You see a group of teenagers messing around on the other side of the lake, laughter echoing across the water as they splash each other and play. The moment shattered, you and Steve share a smile before turning back to each other, the warmth of your shared moment lingering between you.
“Looks like we’re not the only ones enjoying the lake tonight,” Steve comments, a playful grin on his face.
“Yeah, looks like it,” you reply with a chuckle, as you look back at the scene before turning your gaze back to Steve.
You take a moment to just look at him, gathering your courage which is a little difficult when he looks so handsome under the fading light of the sun.
“That girl you talked about… what happened to her?” you finally ask, your voice barely above a whisper  you hold your breath. The answer seems so obvious, but you’re still afraid that you somehow are wrong, hope and fear mingle in your chest, making it hard to breathe for a moment.
“Well, she is, like, really smart, and really amazing, so she got into college in another state. She’s been there for a year now, studying something important that she’s really passionate about, and I think she’s doing really well. I miss her a lot, but I know she’s doing what’s best for her,” Steve replies, his voice filled with a mix of pride and sadness.
You feel a lump form in your throat at his words, the weight of his confession hitting you hard. You know he’s talking about you, and the realization fills you with a rush of emotion. “Yeah, that girl sounds pretty great,” you reply, your voice barely above a whisper.
“She is,” Steve says, his gaze soft and filled with emotion. “And I can’t imagine my life without her.” The weight of his words hangs heavy in the air between you, the unspoken truth of his feelings lingering in the space.
“I can imagine she feels the same,” you say, as you look into his eyes, the depth of your emotions mirrored in them.
“You think so?” he asks, his voice soft and vulnerable.
“I know so,” you reply, your tone filled with sincerity and warmth.
“How do you think she would feel if I kissed her right now?”
“I think she would be a little afraid that she might have burger breath, but I also think it would make her very happy, and that she has been waiting for that moment for a very long time,” you whisper.
A smile plays on Steve’s lips as he leans in closer to you, his gaze unwavering as he searches your eyes for any signs of hesitation. Without a moment of doubt, he closes the distance between you and presses his lips against yours.
The kiss is gentle but filled with a depth of emotion that leaves you breathless. He tastes of cigarettes and burgers, but underneath that familiar taste is the sweet essence of Steve that you have missed so much. The warmth of his lips against yours ignites a fire inside you, a rush of emotions swirling in your chest as you melt into the kiss, savoring every moment of it.
You wrap your arms around him, pulling him closer as the world around you fades away. The moment feels like a lifetime, but also like a fragile bubble, ready to burst at any moment. When you finally break apart, both of you are left breathless, hearts racing as you look into each other’s eyes. The weight of years of unspoken love and longing finally lifted, replaced by the sweet thrill of knowing that you both feel the same way.
Steve slides down from the hood of the car and steps in front of you so that he can step between your legs, cupping your face in his hands as he looks into your eyes with a mixture of love and adoration. “You mean so much to me,” he whispers, his voice filled with sincerity.
“You mean a lot to me too, Steve,” you reply, tears prickling in your eyes at the depth of emotion in his words. Without hesitation, you lean forward and press your lips against his again, feeling a rush of euphoria as he responds eagerly, deepening the kiss. It is much more desperate than the first one, years of pent-up emotions pouring out in this moment of raw honesty and vulnerability. His tongue slides against yours, making an electric rush course through your body and you can’t help but squirm a little in your seat on the car as you feel a dull throb of desire between your legs.
Your hands wander through his hair, feeling the soft strands beneath your fingertips, while his hands rest on your waist, keeping you close to him. The kiss is a mix of passion and tenderness, a culmination of years of hidden feelings and unspoken love finally being expressed.
When you finally pull back, both of you are breathless and smiling, your hearts racing with the intensity of the moment. “Wow,” Steve breathes, his eyes locked with yours in a mix of joy and vulnerability.
“Wow,” you echo, your voice filled with awe and happiness. The weight of years of unspoken love and longing has been lifted, replaced by the sweet relief of finally being able to express your feelings for each other.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for years,” Steve admits, his voice soft and filled with emotion.
“I’ve been wanting you to do that for years, thank you for bringing me here Steve,” you reply, a smile playing on your lips as you gaze into his eyes. “And this is so much better than being covered in pine needles in the back of a pick up truck,” you joke, the tension between you finally broken as you both laugh, the warm sound filling the space between you.
“Yeah, I’d say this is definitely an upgrade from that,” he agrees, his eyes sparkling with happiness. “But I wouldn’t mind doing it in the back of a pick up truck if it was with you,” he adds, a mischievous grin on his face that makes your heart skip a beat.
You laugh, feeling a rush of affection for him as you shake your head in amusement. “You’re impossible, Steve Harrington,” you tease, leaning in to press a quick kiss against his lips before resting your head against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath your cheek. Steve wraps his arms around you, holding you close.
“I wouldn’t mind doing it in the back of a  BMW 733ii," you confess, making Steve freeze up a little against you.
“You can’t just say stuff like that without warning,” he says, his voice a mix of surprise and amusement. You can feel the heat rising to your cheeks at your bold statement, but you can’t deny the thrill of the moment.
“Sorry, couldn’t resist,” you reply with a playful grin, looking up at him with a twinkle in your eye.
“Come here,” Steve whispers, before pulling you in for another kiss, this one filled with a newfound sense of intensity and desire. His hands grasp your waist and he slides you down from the car, pulling you closer to him, You gasp into the kiss as you feel the firm press of his body against yours, the heat of his touch sending shivers of pleasure down your spine.
You can’t help yourself, you’re just so caught up in the heat of the moment. You start to slowly grind against the denim of his jeans, making Steve groan into the kiss, his hands gripping your hips tighter as he responds eagerly to your movements.
The sun is now fully gone and the stars begin to twinkle in the darkening sky, the reflection of the stars shimmering on the lake’s surface.
“Fuck,” he breathes out between kisses, the sound of his voice sending a jolt of arousal through you as you continue to explore each other’s mouths, the taste of each other mingling in a heady mix of desire and affection.
Every touch, every caress, feels electric, sending sparks of pleasure through your bodies. You can feel the heat of his body against yours, the hardness of his muscles beneath your fingertips as you run your hands over his back, feeling the strength of him against you. In a moment of unbridled need, you find yourself pushing your hand up under his shirt, the warm skin beneath your fingers making you shiver with anticipation.
“Car... now,” you whisper between kisses, the urgency in your voice matching the intensity of the moment.
Steve nods in agreement, his hands trailing down your body as he opens the back door of the car, guiding you inside. The space is cramped but the heat between you makes the enclosed space feel like the most intimate place in the world. The sound of heavy breathing fills the air as Steve settles back into the leather of the seat and you straddle him.
You feel his hands roam over your body, the heat of his touch igniting a fire within you as you press your lips against his once again. You start to slowly move against him, his muscular thighs under you,  the friction between your bodies sending waves of pleasure coursing through you. Your hands roam over his chest, feeling the firm muscles beneath your touch as he groans softly against your lips. The sound only fuels your desire, and you deepen the kiss, your tongues dancing in a passionate dance.
He leans a little forward, his back leaving the leather backrest without breaking the kiss as he shreds his light blue summer jacket. Your hands immediately grasp his, now exposed, biceps, feeling the strength and warmth of him beneath your touch.
The intensity of the moment is overwhelming, the rush of desire and affection between you building to a crescendo. The air is thick with heat and need, your bodies moving in sync as you lose yourselves in the passion of the moment. Steve’s hands find your ass and you let out a surprised gasp as he starts to move you against him in a slow steady rhythm. You can feel him hardening under you, making you moan into the kiss, the sensation of him pressing against you sending shivers of pleasure down your spine.
Your hands roam over his chest, feeling the rapid rise and fall of his breath, the heat of his touch igniting a fire within you as you continue to move against him. The urgency of your need for each other consumes you, the desire to be as close as possible to him overwhelming your senses and as the heat between you escalates, you find yourself reaching for the buckle of his belt, but his hands find yours, gently stopping you before you can start unbuckling it.
His lips are leaving yours, and you feel how your heart sinks.
“Wait, wait don’t,” Steve breathes out, his voice filled with a mix of desire and restraint.
You freeze, feeling a rush of embarrassment and self-consciousness wash over you as you realize how carried away you were in the heat of the moment. “You don’t want to...”
“No.”
“Oh...” You feel how your world shatters by his short single syllable answer.
“No! no, wait, that’s not what I meant,” he quickly assures you as he sees how your entire demeanor fell. “I do want this, I really do.  I’ve wanted this for so long, you won’t even believe it, I just… I want to do this right. I’m not going to have our first time together be in the back of my car, okay? I’m not Marcus Jenkins,” he explains, his voice filled with sincerity and a hint of playfulness to try and ease the sudden tension between you.
You feel a rush of relief flood through you as you realize what he’s saying, a mix of embarrassment and gratitude for his thoughtfulness. “No, that you are not,” you giggle softly. He is Steve, your Steve, and you’re so thankful for that.
“I want this just as much as you do, probably even more. But I want it to be special, you know what I mean?”  Steve says, reaching out to cup your face gently with his hand, his touch warm and reassuring.
You nod, you do know what he means.
“Listen…  My parents aren’t home,” he says, suddenly sounding almost shy and you can’t help but finding it incredibly cute, his big brown eyes looking into yours with a mix of vulnerability and longing. It doesn’t surprise you that his parents aren’t home, they have always been pretty absent, he has basically had the house for himself more often than not since you started high school. “We could go back to my place, and...” he trails off, the unspoken invitation hanging between you. “Do it right…”
You look into his eyes, feeling a rush of excitement at the prospect of being alone with him, of finally being able to fully explore the depth of your feelings for each other. “I’d love that,” you say softly, a shy smile playing on your lips.
Steve’s smile widens at your words, his eyes shining with anticipation. “You would?” he says, his voice filled with excitement as you nod eagerly before planting a firm kiss to his soft lips.
“Lead the way, Stevie,” you whisper as you pull away, your voice filled with a mix of longing and desire. Steve leans in to press another gentle kiss against your lips before pulling back with a smile. His eyes are sparkling with anticipation and with a last quick peck to your lips, he helps you out of the car before stepping out himself, opening the passenger seat door for you and guiding you in. When you’re seated he leans in over you, pulling your seat belt tightly around your waist with a soft touch, his eyes locked with yours in a silent promise of what’s to come.
With a final kiss and a knowing smile, he closes the door and rushes over to the driver’s seat, starting the engine as he looks over at you with a grin. The drive to his house is filled with a mix of nervous excitement and anticipation, the air thick with the energy of the moment.
As you drive through the familiar streets of Hawkins, the warm glow of streetlights casting a soft light on the world outside. Steve’s right hand is firmly planted on your thigh for most of the drive, his fingers gently digging into the soft skin beneath, and his thumb stroking small circles on your skin, sending shivers of pleasure up your spine.
You squeeze your thighs together as you feel the heat of his touch igniting a fire in your belly that continues all the way down between your legs. You can feel how wet your panties are by now. The anticipation builds with every passing moment, the desire between you and Steve palpable in the air.
Finally, you arrive at his house, pulling into the familiar driveway. As he parks the car, he turns to you with a soft, almost boyish smile, his eyes filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Without a word, he unbuckles his seatbelt and steps out of the car, moving around to your side to help you out. You take his hand, feeling the warmth of his touch as he helps you onto the driveway.
The two of you make your way to the door and you can’t help but laugh as he clumsily struggles to get the key into the lock, his eagerness betraying his normally cool and collected demeanor.
“You’re really cute, Steve Harrington, did you know that?”
He laughs, a blush rising to his cheeks. “I try my best,” he replies with a sheepish grin before finally managing to unlock the door and with a hand gently placed at the small of your back he leads you into the house. As soon as the door closes behind you, Steve turns to you. Without a word, he steps closer to you, his hands finding your waist as he leans in to capture your lips in a sweet, passionate kiss, it’s a little clumsy as you both toe out of your shoes without breaking the kiss.
His touch is electric, sending shivers of pleasure through your body as you deepen the kiss. You wrap your arms around him, one hand tangling in his hair as you pull him closer. He hums softly into the kiss, making his soft lips gently vibrate against yours. His hands start to wander, slowly roaming over your body, leaving your waist and making a trail of fire in their wake as they softly grab your ass, making your whimper with desire.
“Steve, bedroom now,” you whisper against his lips, the urgency in your voice matching the intensity of the moment.
Steve nods in agreement, his eyes locked with yours, “Yeah, let’s go,” he breathes out, breaking the kiss and his hand finding yours as he leads you further into the house and up the stairs. The sound of your footsteps echoing through the hallway as you make your way towards his bedroom.
As you enter the room, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casts a warm, cozy light over the space. The room is a mix of chaos and order, his belongings scattered around but with a sense of organization in the mess, making the place feel so much more alive and lived in than the rest of the house. The familiar checkered wallpaper you have teased him about for years makes you feel instantly at home and the bed inviting and enticing.
Steve turns to face you, his eyes searching yours as he reaches out to gently cup your face in his hands. “Are you still sure about this?” he asks, his voice filled with sincerity and a hint of vulnerability. You nod, feeling a rush of excitement and longing as you lean into his touch. “I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life,” you say softly, a smile playing on your lips as you meet his gaze.
With a gentle smile, Steve leans in to press a soft kiss against your lips, his touch tender and full of emotion. The kiss is sweet and unhurried, filled with a depth of love and longing that has been building between you for years. Without breaking the kiss, Steve guides you towards the bed, his hands firm and confident his lips leaves yours as he helps you lay back on it, the rustling of the sheets as you settle down on the soft mattress fills the air, the heat between you palpable as you break gaze into each other’s as he follows you, hovering over you as he continues to press kisses against your lips, your neck, your collarbone. The warmth of his touch sends waves of pleasure through you, making you moan softly with need.
“I think you’re wearing too much clothes,” you murmur, your voice heavy with desire as you reach up to start playing with the hair at the back of your neck.
“Oh, you do?” Steve chuckles softly against the skin of your neck.
“Yeah , I do,” you reply, giggling slightly, you really can’t believe that this is real.
“Alright then,” Steve replies with a playful grin, his eyes twinkling with mischief as he leans back, his hands grabbing the hem of his t-shirt, pulling it over his head to reveal his sculpted chest.
You can’t help but admire the sight before you, the planes and curves of his muscles defined under his skin as he discards his shirt. “You’re so hairy,” you mumble softly. It is not the first time you have seen him without his shirt on, but he used to shave his chest when he was on the swimming team. He looks so manly now and you can’t help but  reach out to run over the soft hair on his chest, feeling the warmth and strength of his skin beneath your fingertips. His breath hitches at your touch, a soft gasp escaping his lips
“Eh, yeah, sorry about that,” he chuckles a little shyly, but you can also tell he appreciates the attention as he leans down to press gentle kisses along your jawline, trailing down to your collarbone. You feel a surge of desire swirling through you, a mixture of longing and excitement overwhelming your senses.
“I’m not complaining,” you reply with a teasing grin as you keep running your hands over his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin against yours as you explore the contours of his body. “Quit the opposite, actually.”
Steve’s chuckle turns into a soft groan as he continues his exploration of your skin with his lips, his hands roaming over your body in a mix of reverence and desire. The heat between you is overwhelming, the anticipation building with every touch and kiss. You gasp softly as his lips find the sensitive spot at the base of your neck, sending waves of pleasurable sensations through you. Your hands move down his chest, down over his abs and slip beneath the waistband of his jeans, making him groan as you gently cup his hard on through the denim as he keeps kissing you.
“God, you’re so perfect,” he whispers against your skin, his voice filled with awe and longing as he gently lifts himself off you to pause and look into your eyes. The intensity of his gaze sends a shiver of pleasure down your spine, the raw emotion and desire swirling in the depths of his eyes capturing you completely. Without breaking eye contact, he sits back on his heels and you follow him, propping yourself up on your elbows. “Your turn,” he says with a soft smile, sneaking his hands up under your shirt, but he doesn’t begin to pull it up before you give him a small nod of approval.
He starts to slowly peel off your shirt, slowly revealing your bare skin to his hungry gaze. His touch is gentle and reverent, his fingers tracing patterns along the curve of your waist and up to the swell of your breasts. You feel a rush of desire building inside you as his hands find their way to the clasp of your bra.
He looks up at you, his eyes seeking permission, not going further before you give him a nod to indicate that he can continue, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation fluttering in your chest. As the fabric of your bra falls away, you feel the cool air against your exposed skin, the sensation of vulnerability and desire mingling within you. He leans back slightly, his beautiful eyes filled with adoration as he takes in the sight of you, his gaze soft and reverent. “You’re so beautiful,” he murmurs, his voice filled with awe as he looks at you before leaning in to press a soft kiss against the swell of your breast, his lips warm and soft against your skin.
Your hands find the buckle of his belt and start to slowly undo it, the urgency and need between you building with every passing second. Steve groans softly, his hands trailing down your sides as he continues to press kisses against your skin. “Pants off,” you whisper, your voice filled with desire as you tangle your fingers in his hair, pulling him closer to you. Steve nods in agreement, his hands finding the button of his jeans and quickly getting rid of them, his erection straining against the fabric of his boxers and you gasp as you feel it against your body.
“Your turn,” he counters, his voice filled with desire and longing as he helps you remove your pants. Steve leans back, his eyes locked with yours as he settles between your legs, his hands smoothing over your skin as he leans in to press a soft kiss against your lips, his touch tender and full of emotion. The kiss is sweet and unhurried, filled with a depth of love and longing that has been building between you for years. Without breaking the kiss, Steve guides you towards the center of the bed, the soft cotton of the sheets cool against your heated skin as he settles on top of you, his body pressing against yours.
“You’re so amazing,” Steve whispers against your lips, his voice husky with desire as he trails kisses down your neck and chest, his lips leaving a trail of fire in their wake. You gasp softly as his lips find their way back to your breasts, the heat of his mouth sending waves of pleasure through you. Your hands roam over his back, feeling the muscles tense and relax beneath your touch as he softly pops one of your nipples between his lips, gently sucking, as his hand grabs your other breast, gently neading the soft, plump skin.
The sensation of his touch sends shivers of pleasure through you, the heat between you igniting a fire deep within your core. You arch your back, seeking more of his touch, more of the sweet sensations he’s awakening within you. Steve’s tongue starts to swirl around your hardened nipples, sending waves of pleasure through you as you gasp and moan with each touch. His mouth leaves your breast and he starts leaving a slow trail of kisses and soft nibbles down your abdomen until he reaches the waistband of your panties.
He looks up at you, his eyes seeking permission before he slowly starts to peel them off, revealing your soaked, glistening pussy to him. “Wow, you’re so wet,” he murmurs, his voice filled with desire as he leans in to press a soft kiss against your inner thigh, his lips warm and gentle against your skin. The sensation of his touch sends a rush of pleasure through you, making you moan softly with need. “Can I taste you?” he asks, his voice sounding desperate, like he is a man dying of thirst and you are his last drop of water.
“Yes, please,” you nod eagerly, the throbbing between your legs growing stronger with every passing moment.
Steve smiles up at you, his eyes darken with desire as his strong hands find their way to your hips, his touch firm and sure as he leans in to press a slow, sensual kiss against your clit, his tongue swirling against your sensitive flesh as he starts to eat you out, his touch sending waves of pleasure through your body.
You can barely contain the sounds of pleasure that escape your lips as he expertly works his tongue against your folds. You arch your back, your hands tangling in his hair as you guide him closer to you, feeling the heat of his breath against your most intimate parts. His tongue alternates lapping into your center and making slow, teasing circles against your clit as you keep moaning with pleasure, the sensations overwhelming your senses.
“Fu-uck, Steve,” you gasp, your voice filled with need and desire as you feel the coil of pleasure building deep within you, the pleasure and desire swirling inside you until you almost can’t take it anymore. “So… So good,” you whimper, your voice thick with need as you guide him closer to you, making him moan against you, sending a sweet vibration into your weeping cunt.
Steve brings a hand to your wet folds, coating his fingers in your slickness before slowly inserting first one, then two  fingers into you, his touch sending shockwaves of pleasure through your body. The sensation of his fingers sliding inside you makes you gasp with pleasure as he curls them, hitting just the right spot that sends you over the edge while his mouth keeps sucking and flicking over your sensitive clit.
The last string that is holding you together finally snaps, as your climax wash over you in hot, electric waves of pleasure. You cry out his name and grip the sheets beneath you. Steve continues to work his fingers and tongue against you, helping you ride out the intense wave of pleasure until you collapse back onto the bed, panting and completely sated.
As you come down from the high of your climax, Steve climbs back up your body and you reach out to him, pulling him down over you as you kiss him deeply, tasting yourself on his lips as he wraps his strong arms around you, sending a content shiver through you as you feel the strength and warmth of his body against yours.
“You’re amazing, Steve,” you whisper, your voice filled with awe and gratitude.
Steve smiles against your lips, his eyes shining with love and affection as he gazes down at you. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that,” he replies, his voice soft and filled with emotion.
You giggle softly at his words, feeling a rush of happiness at his confession. “I think I have a pretty good idea now,” you tease, a playful grin on your lips before you leave a sweet peck on his mouth. “And now it’s my turn,” you whisper against his lips, a mischievous glint in your eye as you start to trail kisses down his neck, laying your palms flat against his chest, feeling the heat and strength of his body beneath your fingertips.
Steve gasps softly as you start to explore his body, trailing kisses and light nips along his chest and abs. You softly push against his chest, prompting him to lay back against the bed as you continue to explore his body with your hands and mouth, straddling him as you take your time, savoring the taste and feel of his skin, every touch sending a rush of pleasure through you as you kiss and nibble your way down his body. Steve groans softly as he gently guides you lower, his body trembling with desire as you reach the waistband of his boxers.
With a mischievous grin, you slowly start to peel off his boxers, releasing his hard cock from its cotton prison, his thick shaft smacking against his abdomen.
You feel a rush of desire flooding through you as you gaze at him, taking in the sight of his cock. He is big, both long and girthy, and the sight of him, hard and throbbing for you, sends a thrill of excitement through you. “Wow, Stevie,” you whisper, your voice filled with desire as you lean in to press a soft kiss against the tip of his cock, feeling the heat of his skin against your lips. Steve gasps softly at your touch, his sharp intake of breath sending a shiver of pleasure down your spine.
His hands gripping the sheets beneath him as you part your lips, letting a drop of saliva fall from your mouth landing on his eager tip before you wrap your hand around him, stroking him slowly and purposefully as you smear the spit down his shaft. “Fuck, you’re so good at this,” he groans, his voice husky with desire as you lean in to press another soft kiss against the head of his cock, tasting the saltiness of him on your lips.
With a wicked grin, you part your lips over his tip. He breathes out, his voice filled with need as you start to work your way down his shaft, your tongue swirling against his sensitive flesh as you take him in your mouth, his groans of pleasure driving you further. The sensation of him filling your mouth, the taste of him against your tongue, sends waves of desire through you, making you moan with need.
You take him in as deep as you can, feeling the tip of his cock hitting the back of your throat, letting a hand take care of the base of his shaft, as you work to please him, your own desire building with every touch and kiss. A flood of praises and sweet words leaving Steve’s lips which only fuels your own arousal. You can feel the tension in him building, the tightness in his body as he grows closer to the edge, and you continue to work him with dedication, wanting to bring him to the peak of pleasure, but he suddenly pulls you off him, his hand grabbing yours as he guides you back up to him, pressing a passionate kiss against your lips.
“As much as I’m enjoying this,” he breathes out, his voice filled with desire. “I don’t want to finish that way. I want to be inside you when I come. I want to feel you around me. I want to be inside you when we both come,” he adds, a sense of urgency in his tone .
“Fuck, Steve” you moan, your voice heavy with need and desire as you nod eagerly, feeling a surge of excitement at the prospect of him being inside you. “Please,” you whimper, your voice thick with need as you guide him closer to you, the raw intensity of the moment overwhelming your senses. Steve’s eyes darken with desire as he gently flips you onto your back, his hand reaching for the drawer of his bedside table to grab a condom.
You watch him with anticipation, feeling a mix of excitement and longing as he sheaths himself, his hard cock twitching in anticipation as he settles back between your legs, his eyes locked with yours as he positions himself at your entrance.  He gazes into your eyes, seeking permission, and you nod eagerly, a rush of anticipation and longing sweeping through you. Steve leans in to press a soft kiss against your lips, his touch tender and full of emotion as he slowly starts to push inside you, his thick cock stretching you in the most delicious way as he slowly gives you more and more, letting you adjust to his size.
“You’re doing great,” he murmurs, his voice filled with reassurance and affection as he, with a slow, steady push, he finally slides all the way in, filling you completely as you gasp. He gives you a moment to adjust to the feeling of him inside you, his eyes locked with yours after he has left a series of sweet pecks to your lips and cheek, as he waits for your signal to continue.
After a moment, you nod, a soft whimper escaping your lips as you cling to him, your nails digging into his back. “Please, Steve” you beg, your voice thick with desire as you urge him to move. Steve wastes no time, starting with a slow, gentle pace before gradually picking up speed, his thrusts deep and powerful as he fills you completely, the sensation overwhelming your senses as pleasure courses through your body by the way he is now pounding his thick cock into you, in complete contrast to the way he so sweetly kisses you.
Your whines and whimpers being swallowed up by his sweet lips, all the while as he drills into you, deep and purposefully. His hair has started to cling to his forehead and neck. “You’re, fu-uck, you’re so good,” he groans, his voice thick with desire as he leans in to press a soft kiss against your lips, his touch tender and full of emotion. The room is filled with the sounds of your bodies moving together, skin colliding with skin. “I always imagined you would feel like heaven, but damn.” He groans through gritted teeth. “You are taking me so well.” He encourages. “Feeling so fucking good.”
“Steve, ugh, I-I’m so close,” you whimper, your voice filled with need and desire as you feel how the coil in your stomach keeps tightening and tightening, he is hitting that magic spot inside of you that is driving you closer and closer to the edge. “Don’t stop, please, I’m so close,” you beg, your voice thick with desire as you cling to him, feeling the wave of pleasure building inside you, ready to crash over you at any moment. Your tits are being squeezed against his broad chest, the feeling of his chest hair tickling against your sensitive nipples. His heavy balls are slapping against your skin with each thrust.
“I’m close too,” Steve gasps, his voice strained with the effort of holding back his own climax. His hips rock against yours in a steady rhythm, his thrusts becoming more urgent and desperate as he chases his release.
“Then come, Stevie, please... Please come for me,” you gasp, your voice filled with need as you urge him on, feeling the intensity of the moment reaching its peak.
And with a few final thrusts, you both reach the edge together, the wave of pleasure crashing over you in a sweet, intense climax.
“Fuu-uck,” you moan, your bodies spasming in unison as you ride out the intense pleasure together, your moans filling the room. Steve collapses on top of you, his body shaking with the force of his release as he buries his face in the crook of your neck, his breath hot and rigid. His hand gently sneaks between your bodies to grab the condom as he carefully pulls out, tying the rubber before disposing of it in the trash beside the bed and collapsing back against the bed, wrapping his strong arms around you and pulling you tight against his chest, plastering your forehead in a series of sweet kisses.
Both of you pant heavily, the room filled with the sound of your ragged breaths as you cling to each other, basking in the afterglow of your shared pleasure. “Wow,” Steve breathes out, his voice hoarse with emotion as he looks into your eyes, and you can hear the soft smile in his voice.
“Yeah,” you reply, a soft smile of your own tugging at your own lips as you turn to face him, your hearts still racing with the intensity of the moment you just shared. You reach up to cup his face in your hands, feeling the warmth of his skin against yours. “That was... incredible,” you murmur, your voice filled with awe and gratitude.
Steve nods, his eyes shining with emotion. “It was. And it was even better because it was with you,” he replies, his voice soft and filled with sincerity. “I can’t believe that tonight was even real. All this feels like a dream.”
You smile, feeling a rush of happiness at his words. “It was real, Steve. And I wouldn’t have wanted to share it with anyone else but you,” you say, your voice filled with love and affection. You lean in to press a soft kiss against his lips, feeling the warmth and tenderness of the moment lingering between you.
As Steve pulls away his eyes are filled with adoration as he gazes at you, his dark lashes casting soft shadows on his cheeks, the beauty marks peppered across his face like constellations. You’re so caught up in the way he looks at you, so full of love and tenderness, that you almost miss the words leaving his sweet mouth.
“I love you,” he whispers, his voice soft and filled with sincerity as he says your name like it’s the most precious thing in the world, “I’ve loved you for so long.”
You feel the weight of his words settle in your chest, your heart swell with emotion, your gaze turning blurry as tears start to prick at the corner of your eyes from his confession.
“I love you too, Steve,” you reply, your voice filled with emotion as you cup his face in your hands, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath your touch as you crush your lips against his in a passionate kiss, your feelings so deep in this moment that you don’t know how words could ever measure explaining them, so instead you hope to pour the depth of your love for him into the way your bodies press together, the way your lips move in sync with each other, and the way your hearts beat as one, the way your souls intertwine in that moment of pure connection.
You pull back, your cheeks now shining with tears of joy as you gaze into his, the love and adoration reflected back at you in equal measure. “I’ve really, really missed you.”
“I’ve missed you too,” Steve replies with a soft smile, wiping away your tears with his thumb before pulling you into a tight embrace. The warmth of his body against yours and the ways his arms engulf you make you feel safer than you ever have before.
He keeps leaving sweet kisses to your forehead as you cuddle together, wrapped in each other’s arms, the room filled with the sweet scent of sex and the sound of your soft breathing and you feel such an intense sense of contentment wash over you that you’ve never felt before. The weight of years of unspoken love and longing finally lifted, replaced by the sweet relief of being able to express your feelings for each other.
You lay like this for a while, a comfortable silence falling between you as you bask in the moment, but then all of the sudden the silence breaks, the both of you bursting out in a spontaneous laughter, the sound filling the room with joy and lightness.
Steve pulls back slightly to look at you, a wide grin on his face as his eyes sparkle with happiness. “I can’t believe that you’re really here and all this just happened,” he chuckles, shaking his head in disbelief.
“Me neither,” you giggle, wiping away your tears of joy as you lean in to press a quick kiss against his lips. “But I’m so glad it did, I’ve waited on it for a very long time.”
“Me too,” Steve replies, his voice filled with sincerity and warmth as he pulls you closer, wrapping his arms around you in a tight embrace. The two of you lay there, wrapped in each other’s arms, the warmth and comfort of each other’s presence filling the space between you. “I love you,” Steve whispers, his voice barely above a whisper as he presses a sweet kiss against your forehead.
“I love you too,” you reply, your voice soft and full of emotion as you close your eyes, feeling the weight of his love and the depth of your own emotions wash over you in a wave of pure, unadulterated bliss. You have been knowing it for years, but as you lay here in his arms you know that you are exactly where you were meant to be, with the only person that has ever been the right one for you.

synopsis : You met Joshua's at a party. after hiding your relationship for 3 years long, your parents want to meet him. What would they say about your boyfriend?
word count : 1,612
pairing... : Joshua Hong x fem!reader
warnings : fluff, chaebol!reader, angst, tears, forbidden love(?), stangers to lovers!au, gentleman!Joshua (yes, it needs to be warned, i literally melted)
a.n : finally finishing this, the most long oneshot i have ever made, wow (impressed by my brain tbh..)
Tumblr media
It was a sunday night, the first that you met him through a mutual friend you had in college, you met him at omega kappa beta party, he's playing beer pong with his friends— and a few of yours too.
Mingyu spotted you on the crowd of people, and he smiled brightly. "y/n! come here!" he yells because of the music that blasts in everyone's ears.
First of all, you're not supposed to be at this party because your parents are not allowed you. They say it could ruin the family image or whatever.
Secondly, you have an early class tomorrow, and having a hungover will not be a good reason for the headache that you'll have in the morning.
Latly, you don’t think you can handle Joshua's pretty face while talking, joking and drinking with his friends & yours.
After a moment of hesitation, you go there, and suddenly, you're having the best night of your life.
and after that party, he asked you to go out with him, which you gladly accept with a wide grin spread on your face.
[ఇ ◝‿◜ ఇ]
"so, have you seen any boy that you take interest on?" asked your father while he's eating the dinner who was made by your private chef. Your long time to answer makes your mother speak, "you know we can set up a date for you if you don't have one, right? you need to have a boyfriend, as soon as possible i might add" your mother said flatly.
you know, if you don't tell about your relationship with Joshua, you will most likely go on a never-ending blind date until you find what they call "the one".
"i have a boyfriend. we're in a relationship for over 3 years. we met at the party in college, that party is sending invite to all the people who in the same year as me" you said while looking at them. tour mother widened her eyes, and you could see the doubt in her eyes.
"oh, good then. tell that boyfriend of yours to come here for dinner tomorrow night" your father replied curtly, and now you're the one who's really wants to furrow your eyebrows.
"isn't it's to offhand? i also don't think he's free all the time" you said after a moment of hesitancy. your father only lightly chuckles, "well, if you really have a boyfriend who's been in a relationship with you for over 3 years, don't you think he should be ready to meet his girlfriend's parents?" you stopped eating, for a moment you thought about this and decided that you have to bring joshua home, so you nodded your head slowly, "i'll tell him" you finally said, and your parents only nodded in approval.
[ఇ ◝‿◜ ఇ]
tomorrow comes faster than you think, which makes you wonder if this is because of your nervousness.
"no worries honey, i'll come to your house, okay?" you nodded your head. you never trust your voice when you're almost crying.
"baby! you're waiting for me?" the voice that sounds familiar makes you turn your head from where the voice came from, and there he is, Joshua. he runs to you, give you a quick hug and a peck on your lips. "i actually wanted to tell you that you've been invited to my family dinner, and you need to come tonight, i'm sorry if this tossed you off, if you don't see them tonight they will set up an endless blind date for me and we'll have to break up" you burst out with your teary eyes, you feel bad for him. instead of panicking, Joshua held you closely to him and says.
and soon the night fall, you're waiting for Joshua to come. It's nearly 8 pm, and your dinner will soon start. when you nearly get your hopes down, Joshua is ringing your home bell.
the dinner is already finished, and now your father is throwing so many questions to Joshua, made you eyed him in worry.
"so, what do your parents do and what major do you in?" your father asks straight forwardly, and now you really want to throw daggers at him.
Joshua is so calm when he answers the question, "my mom is a doctor, and my dad is an engineer. i major in law, and i currently go to the law school for my further education" he said while keeping that sweet smile on his face.
after so many questions, your father decided that Joshua could go home. you walked him to the front door, "sorry" you said. he furrowed his eyebrows, "why are you sorry? you've done nothing wrong" he says as he cupped your cheeks, "my father, he's really straightforwarded person"
"no need to be sorry, baby. i'll see you tomorrow, okay?" He hugged you close to him, and you reciprocated the hug, you hug him tightly as if this was the last time you'll see him.
when you came back from the front door. Your father is already in the living room, with a news paper on his hands.
"oh, y/n, come seat here." you have bad feelings about this.
"you need to break up with your boyfriend"
"what?"
"you heard me the first time. you need to break up with your boyfriend, his status is not the same as ours, he's lower than us" your father said makes you stare at him in shock.
"so what if his status is lower than us? at least he loves me, and i love him too!" you yell at him. you shouldn't believe their kindness towards him. you should've seen this coming.
even if you're already giving your point of view of him and love, your parents still not approved of him.
"whatever, i'll leave tonight and never come back. even if you block my credit card, i can just throw it." you get up from your seat and walk to your bedroom. you closed the door with a loud thud, with tears slowly coming out from your eyes. you pack your things inside of your 2 rimowa suitcase.
once you're done, you take your bag and fill it with your charger, phone, and every necessary thing you think you'll need. when you get out of your room, you walk straight to the front door. your mother tried to stop you from doing so, but her effort wasted and she didn’t even get anything.
as soon as you pay for your taxi, you go to Joshua's penthouse building. you cry your heart out to him that night, and Joshua whispering sweet nothings to your ear. you really don't wanna sleep that night, alas, with Joshua holding you close, you start feeling sleepy, and finally, you close your eyes.
the next morning come, and to say you smile immediately when you see Joshua on the other side of the bed that you're sleeping was an understanding.
"good morning beautiful" he said with his raspy voice when he opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was you staring at his face.
[ఇ ◝‿◜ ఇ]
and that happened 2 years ago. now you're in a boutique store to make your dream wedding dress, and the designer is currently measuring the size of your waist.
you run away from your house, and as you can imagine, your father blocks your credit card, but there's nothing to worry about because you had started your business when you're still a freshman in college, so you have enough money for yourself.
Joshua decided that he would take a lawyer as his job, and lots of famous law firm asking for him to be one of their lawyer because he had a perfect score in the law school.
you guys decided that you will save some of your earnings for the marriage you both have dream of.
"okay, i'll let you know when you can see the preview of your final dress" the designer said after he measured your body and picked the fabric that you wanted for your dress.
"thank you, this is unbelievable that i can pour my story with my fiancé on this dress" your eyes beaming as if they made out of the stars in the sky.
"oh, darling, i'm so honored to be your dream wedding dress designer. You touched me with your story, and nothing beats true love" he said while gesturing to wipe tears from his right eye.
2 months later, Adrien Kwon— your designer, is calling you to his boutique for your dress try-on, and of course you take Joshua with you.
"so, how do we think?" Adrien said after two of his assistants opened the curtains to revealed you with your dress.
"i love it! what do you think, baby?"
Joshua was speechless for a moment or so, he can't believe his eyes. seeing you in your wedding dress make him thinking about how beats you'll look when it's your wedding.
"i am in love with you and your dress"
Adrien coos, "proper grammar, that man is one of the kind, lucky you" he said as he winks at you.
not long after that, Joshua asked to be left alone with you to Adrien. which, of course, he accepts it.
"baby, you look,"
"what? gorgeous? your style? pretty?" you teased.
"everything, you look so beautiful, my love" he said as he kissed your hands made heat goes up straight to your cheeks, "i love you, thank you for not giving up on our love"
"i love you too, Joshua." you felt your lips crashing with his own. he held your neck as he deepened the kiss, adding more passion to the kiss.
if you're sure they're the one, please don't let them go. It's hard to find anyone like them in this universe.

“c’mon, hwa. you can’t just stare at her all night.” wooyoung bumped seonghwa lightly on the shoulder. seonghwa didn’t respond to his assistant but took a sip from his red solo cup instead.
hwa had been eyeing y/n since he first saw her. he not only found her attractive, but also loved how devoted she was. to her work, to helping people around her and keeping herself up on two feet. he liked watching her in her element — the confident beauty she radiated.
they’d met only a couple of times before, being in meetings with the board of their companies. they made small talk but never a full conversation. seonghwa was always too nervous to speak to her and never really knew what to say.
“damn man, you are down bad.” yunho walked passed him, smacking his back while laughing. wooyoung agreed, shrugging his shoulders.
seonghwa shook his head at his friends’ comments. he knew he was being a bit of a wuss, but he couldn’t help it. things were always strictly business with y/n and he never wanted to make it awkward with a ‘hey, let’s go on a date’ type of vibe.
but tonight was different. tonight he couldn’t keep his mind from wandering off at the thought of her, even with the loud music in the building they were in. especially not with her looking as good as she did.
she wore a velvety black dress, a slit slightly rising up her thigh. her hair was thrown up into a wavy updo, two strands cascading down the sides of her face.
seonghwa was fascinated by her to say the least.
eventually he tore his eyes away from her, knowing he probably seemed like a creep.
he took another sip of his drink, before placing it in a reserved spot and making his way toward y/n.
“guess he’s going in for the kill.” wooyoung mumbled to the woman he was talking to, watching his boss strut off.
seonghwa didn’t want to startle her by just walking up like any desperate man would, so he tried to be as subtle as he could.
he walked to the snack bar first, grabbing small amounts of food for himself before going to stand near y/n.
she was laughing and conversing with a few of her coworkers, probably about some odd customers they received.
he waited until she was finished and stood a few inches away from her. she took a sip of whatever was in her glass and sat listening to the music.
“at least the decor is better than the food.” seonghwa said, looking up at the ornaments on the ceiling.
to his surprise, y/n had giggled at his comment, “really? i’ve been drinking the whole time so i‘m not sure what any of that tastes like..”
he let out a small laugh, nodding, “yeah. it’s not all that appetizing.”
“guess i’ll be getting take out for the night.” she shook her head, smiling.
seonghwa had looked over at her, falling in love with her smile. for some reason, the sight warmed his heart. her grin was brighter than any light lit in that room.
“i think we’ve met before, er, what’s your name again?” y/n said, finally turning to look at the male for the first time.
“seonghwa.”
“seonghwa,” she repeated to herself as if she just had to remember that name.
“i’m-“
“ms. l/n, uh, i’ve been meaning to get your feedback on our ideas for the new home design you have coming up?”
y/n had been interrupted with business talk once again, taking her focus off of the lost man next to her. even though seonghwa already knew her name, he stood there patiently, waiting for her to finish her talk so they could continue theirs.
“san! yes, i sent an email to your team. i wanted to meet by monday morning, if that’s okay with you?” she sent a smile to the male that was now in front of her.
san agreed to y/n’s idea as they continued their conversation. it had became awkward for seonghwa. awkward for him to just stand there and look like a lost puppy waiting on its owner.
more people eventually came up to y/n and before he knew it, there were 4 more people in front of her. he was about to give up and walk away before he heard one of the workers’ comments.
“y/n, do you even own your company?” he had snorted. seonghwa had turned back to see who it was and he wasn’t very surprised to see a slimmer male dressed in a light gray suit. it was minseok, one of the managers of a nearby company.
“excuse me?” y/n’s eyebrows furrowed. this wasn’t the first time someone was ‘skeptical’ of y/n’s work ethic and her independent mindset but this was certainly the first time someone said it to her face.
“i mean, i guess i’m just a little confused. wouldn’t you need a man to do all that for you? you know, make the money, get all the things you need to start your own company.” minseok’s smug smirk made y/n want to smack it right off of his face but she kept it professional instead.
“maybe that’s what you think. but everything i have, i made on my own, sir. i don’t know about the rest of you, but i worked hard to get where i am.” every word y/n said she meant. she’d gotten different degrees in college and always had a workaholic mindset.
“you worked hard? or those men you had in your office worked hard?”
everyone around y/n and people within reach of the conversation heard. they all gasped and mumbled, turning to y/n wondering what she would say next.
but before she could say anything, seonghwa stood in front of her, blocking her from minseok’s view. he shoved the shorter male’s shoulder, his face had turned colder than earlier. when he’d looked as if he wouldn’t hurt a fly.
“back off, yoon. you’re not even a director yet, you have no room to talk.” seonghwa’s voice was an octave lower now, his jaw clenching. he followed after y/n who was already storming off toward the exit door.
“where you going? giving your lady friend more money for her pretend organization?” minseok called after him.
he continued his steps after y/n, calling back to minseok, “i’m going to have a discussion about ceo work. something your position and paycheck don’t know a thing about.”
everyone murmured and some laughed at hwa’s comment, which left minseok’s jaw dropped.
after some walking, he found y/n outside of the building, leaning against a light pole.
“what are you doing all the way out here? it’s way too cold.” he stood next to her, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
she shrugged, chuckling bitterly, “i work hard and i still can’t make people happy.”
seonghwa listened to anything else she had to say but those were the only words she let out. he felt bad for her, knowing that she took her work seriously but everyone still saw her as a joke.
“y/n,” he started. “can i call you that?”
she turned to him slightly, gaze still on the ground. the girl nodded, patiently waiting for seonghwa’s next words.
“what you do with your life, your career, it’s not for other people. did you go to college for some random real estate manager? did you study late in the night just to please people?”
seonghwa’s tone was soft but stern. he didn’t want y/n to beat herself up over some vulgar comment. she was way too good for that and even he knew it.
she shook her head, listening to him closely. he was right. y/n always did what she wanted to do when it came to choosing her career and going to school. everyone had always told her that it’d be hard to get to where she was but she never listened to them. now look at her.
“y/n, you’re one of the strongest women i’ve seen,” hwa chuckled. “and i don’t even know you that well yet..”
“you’re just saying that.” she shook her head smiling.
“no, i’m serious! anyone who can’t see how hard you work and how you manage to keep yourself on both feet is just as dumb as minseok.”
his comments made her all giddy inside. y/n had always gotten compliments about her work ethic, so why was it making her all flustered now?
seonghwa was facing her completely now, hoping she’d do the same. and she did, turning her body to face him, her gaze everywhere else but his eyes.
“thank you.” was all she could manage to say as she attempted to hide her growing smile. it wouldn’t show visibly but her cheeks were as warm as the sun.
seonghwa shrugged in a ‘no problem’ manner, smiling back down at her.
“do you you have your phone?” she asked, tilting her head slightly.
hwa patted his pockets, making sure it was there before giving her a confused nod.
she held her hand out for him to give it to her after unlocking it. she typed in her number, saving herself as ‘Ms. L/n 💆🏽‍♀️’.
“for business purposes.” she emphasized the ‘business’ part, letting seonghwa know she was only making fun.
he texted her a quick ‘hi :)’ so she could save his contact.
after grabbing her small bag from the stand by the light pole, she readied herself for home.
she began to step off the pavement sidewalk but turning before she could actually leave.
y/n walked back toward seonghwa, a hand coming to rest on his firm arm. she stood on her toes, planting a warm, long kiss to his cheek. he was surprised at her action but attempted to keep his cool.
his eyes seemed to sparkle afterward, making him look as if he was in a trance.
“thank you again, hwa.” she smiled sweetly, her tone matching her face; soft and warm.
and with that, she turned on her heel, making her way to her vehicle.

Dear, James -4
| part 1 part 2 part 3
Harry has seen his Papa in many states before, whether he remembers them or not is different, but he knows he was there.
He has never seen Papa as angry as he is now, clutching at the front door, rage rolling off him in the form of magic, causing the ceramic key and trinket holder near the door to crack and the wood under his feet to splinter. He can see how Papa is clutching at the door so hard his fingers turn white as he peaks into the front hallway.
Papa told him to stay in the kitchen, to continue eating, but he didn't listen, shoveling in the last of his cereal so it didn't get soggy in the milk before he carefully walked to the front door. Harry can't see who's past the door, Papa has the door mostly closed and his body in the opening. He wants to know so badly, he itches for it, but Papa always said that curiosity isn't a good thing. But Papa is also very angry right now, and maybe Harry can get a kick in before he's sent to his room...
"I heard of what happened... Mr.Black" The voice of the stranger paused between the words oddly, and Harry watched as the wood on the door started to peel from where his Papa was gripping it.
"Sadly I still insist, you have the wrong house. Please get off my property." Harry can see how Papa's jaw clenches, and well, Papa is wrong, he is a Mr.Black, and he did also get fired from his job recently. It was upsetting, but as Papa said, they still had enough money so that Harry could have seven children and those seven could have seven children each and they'd still be comfortable for life and then some.
He doesn't want to have seven kids though, but that's not important.
"I don't believe I am ever wrong," The voice said, and Harry wrinkled his nose. Apparently Papa has the same reaction because when he opened his mouth to speak, the stranger spoke again.
Harry is glad they have magic, as the ceramic piece by the door finally shattered, keys and rings and one of his mini plastic dinosaur from several years ago that he keeps forgetting about scattering along the surface of the hall table.
"You're son is very like you, despite appearances." Shit. Caught. He tried to shuffle back to where he wouldn't be seen, but Papa turned his head too quickly, a glare being pinned on him, and Harry couldn't help to shuffle in place before rushing up to his parent's side, holding the back of Papa's shirt. He's been caught already, why not ride it out?
"Get off of my property." Harry nods enthusiastically, frowning at the old man in front of him because his Papa is right and the man needs to go.
Though the stanger's beard is very long, it's funny, the grey compared to the colorful... something or other that the man is wearing. He still isn't welcome hear though.
"I have a job opening for you, Mr.Black." The man says and Papa rolls his eyes, groaning, giving up all pretenses of pretending. Harry would have kept with it though, if he was Papa, just until the man gave up.
"Oh? What a coincidence. I just get fired from my job as an astronomy professor and suddenly you're here, telling me you can solve my problems." Harry has to fight down a smile at his Papa's tone. So sassy.
The stranger raises an eyebrow, and Harry can feel the anger flare again, so he tries his best, leaning against Papa and he thinks it works. He can't feel it much anymore, but Papa is still so angry.
"I wouldn't know what you are implying Mr. Black."
"Really." Papa doesn't ask a question, keeping his glare and, personally, is Harry was in the strangers position he would have already been sent up to his room.
"I believe it would be best to talk about inside however." The stranger smiles and Harry can't point it out, he's never been too good at that, but it doesn't feel like a nice smile. Harry doesn't know how that's possible.
"How about you go and suck the dick of the lover you left rotting in prison again." Harry should tell Papa to put a coin in the swear jar, but he holds it in. It can be excused just this once he thinks. Papa deserves a swear once in the while.
The stranger doesn't say anything, just staring and staring until finally Papa bites out a "Fine." and lets the man in.
Harry would have just shut the door on the man, but oh well.
The stranger walks in like he knows where to go already, and after a few seconds Harry is surprised that the man does, walking right past them and going to the sitting room. Papa sighs and turns to Harry.
"I thought I told you to stay in the kitchen."
Harry shrugs, "You were taking too long."
Papa sighs and rolls his eyes, but still kisses the top of Harry's head as he passes while Harry hangs back, looking at what Papa will have to fix later, because despite Harry having a wand already and knowing how to use it, Papa says it's just for emergencies, and a few peeled pieces of wood, a cracked photo frame, and a broken ceramic is probably not an emergency. He bites his lip, but still turns to follow the older two into the sitting room.
When he gets there, Papa is on one side while the stranger is on the other. There's almost like an invisible line across the room and Harry doesn't hesitate before standing next to Papa.
"Did you get the letters?"
"Harry isn't going to Hogwarts."
The man raises an eyebrow as Harry looks up to his parent with a puzzled expression. He knew he wasn't going to Hogwarts, that's not what he's confused about, he already has most of his stuff for Beauxbatons anyways. What he doesn't understand is why the man is bringing it up.
"We need an astronomy professor, and with your recent gap of employment, I thought we could come to a conclusion Mr.Black."
"I'm perfectly fine where I am."
It's silent for a second before the stranger sighs, shaking his head, "I heard that another Mr.Black and a certain Mr.Potter are quite distraught as of late."
Harry watches as Papa stands up straighter, and he can't help the uncomfortable bubbly feeling in his stomach because Papa clearly doesn't like this man, and suddenly he's bringing up people who Harry knows he's related too. They've always been sensitive subjects when it come to his parent.
He looks down and tugs an arm away from being crossed against his chest and holds that hand. He thinks some moral support could help, but Papa still crumbles the same, letting his other arm drop and pushing his shoulders back as he stares at the man.
"What about them?"
Harry knows that his papa still cares about his brother and his ex, but Harry doesn't. He's never even met them for Merlin's sake, they never even bothered to visit or see either of them despite how lonely Papa has been.
Yes, they still have Aunt Pandora and her wife Aunt Lily, along with their daughter who is Harry's best friend, but Harry knows that Papa still misses them, from how he gets caught staring at the letter writing supplies late at night, how even after all this time Papa will stare at a photo album that Harry once managed to sneak a peak into only to see the so called family that left the both of them to fend for themselves. And Aunt Pandora. She was also in the photobook.
The stranger purses his lips, and Harry squeezes on his Papa's hand. "It seems they recently got a letter that was quite disturbing. Left them both in shambles, my dear boy."
Papa wrinkles his nose, but apparently let's whatever comment he had saved up go.
"A letter from the name Regulus Black."
"That's not new." Papa sounds bored, but Harry can tell by the sudden slight squeeze on Harry's hand.
"Ah, my boy, but it is. See, apparently they miss you. I've seen them for years, and despite everything now is the time they seem quite torn up."
Papa lets out a breath of air and Harry watches as his free hand clenches. He's almost tempted to reach over and hold that one too, but then he wouldn't be able to frown at the stranger. Somethings are a higher priority then helping his papa. Like discomforting this random old guy. He doesn't seem to be fazed, but Harry swears it's working.
"If they regretted it, a letter would have sufficed instead of you coming here."
"They believe it's been too late for far too long. I thought I'd go out of my way."
"I'm still not taking your shitty job, I'm fine right here. I can find another if needed."
The stranger walks closer, "Can you truly, Mr.Black?" The way he says it means something that Harry either doesn't know or hasn't caught onto yet, but one look at his parent and it seems like he's the only one, face paler then normal, eyes slightly wide as he stares as the other man. A noise of confusion escapes him and Papa's head shoots down, looking at him for a second before turning back.
"I can, I know I can."
The stranger smiles a little, like something Papa said was funny, and now the weird feeling in Harry's gut traveled up to his chest. What does the man mean? Why is he hurting Papa in their own home? Sure it might not be physically, but that's not the only way someone can hurt. He knows that, so why doesn't the stranger? Is it because that is what he is? Nothing but a stranger?
Papa's jaw clenches and his eye twitches in a way Harry doesn't think he's seen before, "What did you do?" The stranger doesn't answer though, smiling the same weird smile as he has in the past before speaking himself, already moving out of the room.
"I'm sure you'll make the right choice my boy."
Papa is still standing there as the front door shuts and Harry finally asks the question that has been on his mind since he saw the man.
"Who was that?"

Good Morning Sunshine Prologue [Leon x Neighbour!reader series]
Summary: After your home got destroyed by a fire, you seek a sanctuary in Claire's apartment. The catch? Your neighbour is the opposite of a sunshine, but luckily, there's an unknown number brightening up your days!
Tags: Female Reader! | Stangers to Lovers | Slowburn | Neighbour AU x Wrong Number AU | Strong language, fluff, mention of trauma late on. Tags will get updated.
Bright flames roared, hungrily consuming the wooden elements and everything they could reach. The acrid scent of smoke filled the hallway, and crackling sounds echoed through the chaos.
Your eyes teared up as the smoke reached them and you forcefully pressed your dusty jacket to your face, covering your mouth and nose. All your senses were overloaded and adrenaline kicked in. You couldn't die here. With quick steps you hurried through the smoke-filled rooms, desperately looking for a free exit that wasn't blocked by the highly destructive flames.
The faint reflection of glass caught your attention from the side and you hurried towards the soot covered window. In a matter of seconds you dropped the jacket, long forgotten now, to cling onto the window to push it up, praying to whoever was watching over you for a miracle.
With enough strength, you managed to push it up, cracking the glass from the force. All you can focus on is the heat of the flames in your back and the darkness that stretches before you. You can either get eaten alive by the fire or jump from a high floor. All adrenaline pushes you forward and you finally take the step forward to jump…
…forward but the seatbelt quickly held your sweat-covered body back into the uncomfortable car seat. The stare that Claire gave you from the side didn't stay unnoticed and you quickly caught your breath, pretending you just didn't have a hyper-realistic nightmare from the events that happened a month ago.
“Same dream?” The woman chirps up and holds the steering wheel in a tight grip while muttering something about idiots being on the road without having the ability to drive a car right. Complaining about other drivers was a natural thing when you were a passenger in Claire's car. You wish you could just give a comment about her small rant instead of answering the question but you knew: Claire Redfield will ask till you answer her question. And the patience that the woman had is longer than any search history you own on your phone, and this was supposed to mean something.
“More like a nightmare.” You mumble and grab the seatbelt, trying to get some of the pressure of your chest so you can breathe properly. “Same as always, no worries.” Those words were far away from calming Claire's worries. She gave you another unhappy look and her eyebrows furrowed.
You knew Claire from highschool and you two became friends over a coincidence and you might call it the best one of your whole life because this woman is not only a true angel but also your very own independent girl friend. You had the best and the worst moments of your life with her and your bond was special.
“You know what, maybe you need a new perspective. A motivation in life, a very good one night st-” “Definitely not, Claire. I don't need to get laid.” You replied in a wheezy voice, pushing some strands of hair out of your flustered face. The car stopped in front of a red traffic light and Claire took the moment to stare at you in complete silence, taking in your features and reading your mood. Her eyes looked deeply into yours and you could swear that the woman tried to peek into your soul. You gasps playfully. Claire once told you, people who have eye contact with you for more than 6 seconds either wanna kill you or sleep with you. The memory makes you chuckle and you relax into your seat once more. “Claire Redfield, do you wanna hook up with me?”
The question caught the brunette off guard and she choked on her own salvia, coughing heavily before laughing loudly. “Always.” The way she laughs so carefree was infectious and in a matter of seconds you two were laughing and not even noticing the green light that the traffic light gave you. Another car behind you started to honk, which surprised Claire and made her speed up. “God people nowadays are always in a hurry.” You don't pay attention to her words anymore, since the apartment complex came into view. Claire lets you stay in her apartment for a while till you can afford your own place, you tried to decline but she insisted.
It took only a few more minutes till you stood in front of the building, taking in the not so charming view. It definitely needs a renovation or at least some better paint on those outside walls. You could swear this place looks like a historical pile of wobbly stones and people just label it as ‘home’. Claire told you the rent is cheap and seeing the building in person explains the reason for it pretty well. Claire was busy taking out the small suitcase of the car trunk, putting it next to you before following your gaze. “Home sweet home, dear friend.”
It took a while to get all your stuff up the stairs to the small flat that is owned by claire. Apparently, the elevator was broken for a while now, and there is no way that someone will actually repair the old trashy box. Not worth the money or the effort, at least that's what most of the other tenants mumbled in the hallways. And you slightly curse them for it, then obviously it was a painful struggle to get everything up, especially the heavy boxes. Your bones will definitely thank you in the night by giving you the pleasure of a sore back. Nothing is better than the delightful first back issue after freshly moving into a new home. Especially after your old one burned down, right?
You giggle about your own depressing thoughts, depression and Claire are the only friends that you need right now after all the catastrophes that entered your life, and maybe vodka. The four of you could throw the pitty party of the year with the cheapest confetti.
Claire was the one that ripped you out of your thoughts, her hand squeezing your shoulder softly to get your attention.
"Um so, there's something I have to confess..." She laughs nervously while rubbing the back of her head with a free hand. Typical Claire movement.
"You sold me to the mafia." It was a joke that came out of your mouth, laced with sarcasm and you act shocked by putting your hand on your chest and gasping loudly. "And I thought we had a special connection. I even lend you my lipstick in the car!" But the other woman quickly shook her head with another nervous chuckle.
"Actually.. It's a really messed up situation and I need you to help me, my adorable little guardian angel. I beg you on my knees." In an instant she was on the ground, seeming desperate and even clapping her hands together over her head. A sigh escaped your lips.
"Your prayers have been answered, tell me foolish woman, what crime have you commited in those noble times?" Hearing your words was enough for Claire to get back on her feet. Her hands clutching yours tightly.
"Okay so time to spill the tea. I gave your number to a guy who's been asking me for a date since ages to make him shut up...When he's texting you pretend its me and dump him for me!"
It took more than just a full minute to grasp the concept of the situation and the more you thought about it, the more question marks appeared over your head. But despite the weird context and the fact that she gave your number out to a stranger, you couldn't deny her. She's literally letting you live in her flat for free after all. You owe her one and it's time to pay back the kindness.
After you accepted to help her, she went out to buy some takeout for dinner as a thank you. This left you all alone on the couch, watching the world's worst cooking show. Basically a high-quality documentary about your awful kitchen adventures but with paid actors.
Suddenly your phone lights up, showing an unknown number.
???: Listen I apologize for earlier. It was wrong of me to pressure you like that but I really wanna close the case between us.
You: Sorry, I bet you're super sweet, a great guy. And you surely have a great humor but I don't wanna go out with you, sorry man.
???: What?? How are you coming up with such nonsense suddenly?
You: Don't pretent and just accept it, we won't get together.
???: Listen Ada, I'm trying to apologize and not to ask you out for dinner.
You: Ada?? Gosh you can't even remember the name of the girl you wanna take our for a date?!
You: It's C l a i r e. Not Ada. You're such a red flag, dude.
This text conversation surely hit your nerve, how can someone be such low scum? Not only asking for a date but hooking up with multiple woman? Is this some kind of playboy who likes to see people like her as objects?! Your fingers angrily pressed the keys on the keyboard of your phone.
???: You're not Ada??
???: Oh god! I'm terribly sorry I got the wrong number!...
You: Hooking up with so many woman that you get the names mixed up, hm? Your mother must be very proud of you.
???: What? I'm hooking up with no one, especially not with a random phone number.
???: Listen, I'm sorry ok? No need to get hostile now.
???: The names Leon by the way and you are claire right? I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding.
You angrily slap the phone onto the poor couch cushion and put your hands on your face, groaning in annoyance. You just dumped someone named Leon, without even knowing him.

“He’s a demon, Gguk. A gumiho. Maybe he didn’t want to mess with a God. He probably knows better.” Namjoon has a point. Only the bravest demon would try to seduce a God, but Jeongguk wasn’t looking to fall into his trap. He huffs.   "Who says he had to mess with me? I just wanted a smile. He was pretty.” Or, as a God of love, Jeongguk has never had any problems getting someone to like him, not even demons. Park Jimin proves to be quite the challenge.

Stardew Bachelor/ette's as relationship tropes
A/N: because this is cute and im in my feelings watching the little mermaid im feeling so giddy omfg THIS MOVIE WAS MADE FOR MEEKLALQOWOSOA also plus victor and Sofia(sophia?) WOW so if anyone has already read this it was not finished nor was it supposed to be posted so as I finish it it'll just be updating because i don't wanna delete it oopsies!
Tw: none? Idk maybe bullying???
Genre: headcanons
Wc:maybe like 5 bullet points per thing?
Sdv Masterlist
Strangers to Lovers:
Emily
Penny
Leah
Elliott
Friends to Lovers:
I feel like Penny and Leah would be a meet-cute sorta thing like at a coffee shop or a library
Maybe elliott also at the library or at a bar
But I feel like with Emily it would be somewhere chaotic
Like a concert
Or a rally of some sort
All of these would be like a romance novel of some sort you meet your soulmate on a chance outing super cute!!!
Sam
Sophia(Sofia?)
Enemies to Lovers:
Harvey
All of these guys seem as if they fall hard for friends mostly
Like yeah they sometimes find a stanger attractive
But I feel as if these people are the kind to slowly develop a crush on someone they already know
Sam would make the best tv show character and Sophia(pls someone tell me how to spell) and Harvey would make better book characters
Haley
Sebastian
Abigail
Second chance:
Alex
You probably absolutely hated these guys ngl
Like I feel like they have enemy quality
Like especially Haley and Alex they have high school bully energy to me
So even if they weren't bullys they would somehow end up on your kill list
Seb and Abigail seem like general assholes and probably did something to piss you off(im saying this as a Seb girlie)
Honestly my favorite genre to read but that's because i am toxic oops
Shane
Victor
Maru
I feel like these three would've been in relationships they had to let go of for different reasons and now that time has passed you meet again and get that second chance at loving one another
Shane would prolly be because of his downward spiral and you two broke up after a heated fight because he just refused to try so you left(Jas was torn up but doesn't really remember because she was younger)
Victor prolly had to break up with you because of Olivia and different statuses in money. She only wants the best for her son and unfortunately in her eyes you were not it.
For Maru i think its obvious Demetrius had something to do about it. Maybe you were in a relationship in high school
And even if her grades didn't slip at all when he found out he made her break up with you to force her to focus on her future.

Summary:
“Maybe a woman is what you need then.”
Chrissy smiled shyly. “Maybe.” Then, because the wine really was getting to her apparently: “Too bad we’re both already taken.”
She chanced a look at Carol, who had the barest hint of a smirk on her lips. “Too bad,” she repeated.
Oh, that look was doing dangerous things to Chrissy’s sanity. Emboldened slightly, she said, “Maybe if we’re ever both single, we should just date each other. Cut the men out entirely.”
Carol’s smirk broadened and she knocked her foot against Chrissy’s knee. “I could get behind that.”
————— Or: Chrissy was content in her relationship with Jason, or at least that's what she told herself. Enter: Carol Perkins. When Jason drops the bomb that he's taking a job over seas and wants her to move with him, Chrissy leans into her new friendship with Carol and delays giving him an answer for as long as she can. However, the lines begin to blur in Chrissy's heart the longer their friendship goes on. A classic tale of 'right person, wrong time' that eventually ends in right person, right time.
