An electrical engineering major at Penn State just clinched the first US men's gymnastics team medal in a generation with his routine in the pommel horse, his only event.

He's two shades paler than even the other white guys on the team, he wears glasses that would be appropriate for a stock IT character in a serial crime drama on CBS, he squints at the apparatus when he takes the glasses off, and he fucking nailed it.

I love this guy so much.

People should acknowledge the fact that alcoholism has become a part of Logan’s character in like a genuine way, like yes it’s used jokey in the show but GODDDD it just makes it so clear what direction his character is going in. He is falling apart, he is becoming more and more dependent on destructive coping mechanisms, he’s pushing the light sides away more often and being more friendly with the dark sides and especially Janus, who has showcased a lot of similar traits which Logan seems to be developing, he’s a HYPOCRITE, he’s an ASSHOLE, he’s got issues opon issues!! He is a spiteful alcoholic and the nickname “nerdy wolverine” is becoming a whole lot more literal these days!! And I FUCKING LOVE IT!! yes there’s the obvious ones, like writing can be applied to fics and drawing to fan art. but there’s also that one girl who wrote a whole song for crimson rivers?? AMAZING

so as of the beginning of Jannik’s ban (9/2/25) he has 11,830 points. The 2nd rank has 8135 points as of the same date, or 3695 fewer points. Jannik stands to lose a total of 2100 points over the period of his ban, ending 4/5/25.

-> INDIAN WELLS - points disqualified

-> MIAMI - 1000 points

-> MONTE CARLO - 400 points

-> MADRID - 200 points

He would return to competition with 9730 points. This is still 1595 points more than the total points of the 2nd rank as of 9/2/25.

The 2nd rank is defending 950 points over the period of Jannik’s ban.

-> INDIAN WELLS - 200 points

There’s a total of 5250 points on offer for the tournaments we’re assuming the 2nd rank will play.

You’ve intrigued me about the topic since I’ve never heard of the Priori Incantatem effect before. I was helping Mr Olivander out this weekend, as usual, so I could ask him about it. Quite a fascinating subject. How did you get to know about it?

I came to the conclusion that, even though I would like to witness that phenomenon, I don’t think we will be lucky enough.

It is very rare and occurs only when two wands that have magical cores deriving from the same source (in our case, from the same dragon) are used against each other. As you can see, we can ignore the similarity of the wood material of our wands. But the chances of them having the heartstrings of the same dragon are very slim, too. 

Wandmakers are aware of the effect and take a range of precautions to minimise it. But even if we don’t take this into account, Mr Olivander aims to craft unique wands that fit a wide variety of people, so he generally avoids using identical source material. Even if he does, it might be decades that separate the initial making of a wand from the time it chooses a person it wishes to bond with, which reduces the chances for twin wands to meet.

Imagine how many Hogwarts students buy their wands from Olivander, who primarily uses only three types of wand cores. Still, Crossed Wands or just duels within DADA lessons operate without surprises like that. I don’t see how we can be an exception. 

That being said, if you just want to knock some sense into me, you don’t need to find an excuse to duel me. I will be waiting for you near the Black Lake today after the classes.

Civilian Gothamites realizing they can get vengeance through Sword!Robin

Gothamites figuring out if they happen to mention a rogue treating animals poorly within hearing range of sword!Robin that rogue will be in custody with at least four fractures and a concussion and Damian being completely aware that like 63% of these people are lying but it’s the only way he can get experience with the nonlethal takedowns he’s experimenting with bc everyone keeps complaining about how he treats his opponents and allies 

Like he’s guiding a civilian to safety and they mention that “this would be the worst thing to happen to me today if riddler didn’t stab my fucking cat” and this civilian does not own a cat but they did own a car that was just paid off but riddler fucking crushed it with a stupid ass hot air balloon that’s shaped like a fucking question mark and Damian is aware of this bc he was the one that verified the insurance claim (but he’s been looking for a reason to punch Nygma in the throat since his last Arkham escape when he called Damian a moron)

And he also knows that if he plays along with it and says ‘as if I’d let that gaudy and tactless imbecile get away with committing such atrocities’ when prompted that he’ll get away with barely a slap on the wrist like he gets three half hearted but long lectures he’s not going to listen to and an online sensitivity training seminar he goads Tim into completing (Damian and Tim 100% try to trick each other into doing work they don’t want to do and full heartedly believe the other has no idea what they’re doing)

Bruce’s tendency for finding small crashouts at risk of becoming future rogues in Gotham and deciding they need love & supervision but what actually happens bc he’s so fucking awkward is they get almost the same amount of supervision just with like an hour of intense helicopter parenting a week but honestly besides that they just have more money and resources to do fuck shit

Tim 🤝🏾 Damian: using the manipulation tactics they learned from their mothers then later improved on with help from an assassin cult and bat/cape interrogation questioning techniques on the homies

okay but imagine the foxes playing dnd…

- nicky: the DM! his improv practice makes him excellent at thinking on his feet and he makes his NPCs flirt with everyone.

- neil: plays an arcane trickster rogue, loves the strategy and optimizing shit. took a level of bard though so he can cast vicious mockery and trash talk the bad guys.

- matt: plays an oath of devotion paladin, was new to playing and thought that he wouldn’t really care abt the acting stuff but actually gets really into role play- he cried when one of their NPC friends died. when an NPC flirts with him for the first time he gets so tongue tied and flustered and dan teases him about it for days

- renee: circle of stars druid or sorcerer idk some spellcaster for sure. doodles character art for everyone’s PCs during the sessions and takes really good notes. she played a little in high school and was the one who persuaded nicky to start their group up!

- dan: ranger!! she and neil WILL debate combat strategy and placement until nicky tells her that she HAS to take a turn it has been 15 minutes. she is very plot hook focused as a player and nicky loves how she finds all his little clues.

- andrew: shows up just for the snacks and to piss off kevin who thinks it is a waste of time. however, he lets nicky ramble about his plans sometimes. neil knows this and offers to trade secrets for DM intel. matt finds out and runs around yelling “NO INSIDER TRADING”

A whole day later and I'm still thinking about the person who decided that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is badly written because they found a codex that references the book club that the companions started.

Because they thought it was unrealistic that anyone at the Lighthouse would ever have time to read books, much less have a book club.

ETA all this to say I am in my “block people clogging up the tags with negativity” phase of getting back into Dragon Age fandom.
