So there’s a webtoon called Cinderella Boy by Punko, and I’m hooked. There are some spoilers about the plot up to the 17th episode, so if you haven’t read that far: continue at your own risk.

The plot goes like so; there’s a boy who goes by Chase, and his mom is sick. He wants to make a magical wish to save her, but to do so, he needs both a magical liquid called Narration, and a set of 12 magical archtype keys. Each of the keys can turn into a little person, but also allow whoever is using that specific key to enter a story, and seemlessly take the place of whatever character holds that specific archtype. There’s a dangerous group called Ex Libris that wants the keys (assumingly to fulfill their personal goals with the wishes) and has most of one, but Chase is on a mission to find all of them.

My big question is this: What keys are there?

So the plot kicks off with Chase finding Silver, the Heroine Key.

So she then tells Chase thst the last thing she remembers is being held by Ex Libris, and dhe refers to the other Keys as her family, and she encourages Chase to find them.

While trave Ing through stories, Chase meets “Buddy”. He wants Chase to stop using the Heroine Key and hand it over to him. Buddy has a Key of his own - but he hides it under his shirt.

Buddy holds the Villainess Key (who’s name Silver tells Chase, is Violet), and is implied to work for Ex Libris. So that one will definitely be hard to get.

In a recent storyline, Silver spots two Keys at a flea market, but by the time Chase runs away, grabs the money to but them, and comes back, one of the Keys has been sold. Chase buys the remaining Key.

The Key that Chase does get turns out to be Bronze who is the Helper Key. The archtype of a sidekick.

And that’s all the know Keys! The Heroine Key (held by Chase), the Villainess Key (held by Buddy/Ex Libris), and the Helper Key (held by Chase/Chase’s cousin).

You get the idea. 3 known, 9 unknown. 2 held, 10 with unknown locations.

And Chase wants to find them.

One of the Keys got sold at the flea market, so it’s likely nearby.

And there’s another Key mentioned on the paper that Chase found.

The right picture tells us more about the unknown Keys. We know about the Villainess and Heroine Keys that match up with what is seen on the bottom left and top left respectively. But the top right Key’s name is unknown.

So aside from that, we can also guess what the rest of the keys are, because they said to represent the 12 archtypes in stories.

Chase initially mistook the Heroine Key for the Hero Key, which is a good guess for one of the archetypes.

But things get interesting if we look at the 12 Jungian archtypes: The Innocent, Everyman, Hero, Outlaw, Explorer, Creator, Ruler, Magician, Lover, Caregiver, Jester, and Sage.

Breaking down these roles, they are:

The Innocent - The dreamer or a romantic

The Everyman - Kinda background character

The Hero - You know this guy, he’s the warrior, the dragon stayer, the HERO

The Outlaw - The rulebreaker, or revolutionary who dislikes the status quo

The Explorer - The wanderer/seeker, they like their freedom and seek to keep it

The Creator - they seek to bring their vision to fruition as an artist or innovator

The Ruler - The big boss who wants plwer/control (maybe the VILLAINESS)

The Magician - They seek to make others all happy and are charismatic leaders and healers

The Lover - The HEROINE; goal is to be in a relationship

The Caregiver - The HELPER

The Jester - The fool or the trickster who lives for fun

The Sage - The smart one, often the mentor

We do pick up some potential archtypes from this, but we can’t really be all that sure of the names for some vauge ones. Some new ones I feel more sure about might be: Mentor, Trickster, Fool, Leader, Wanderer, Artist/Creator, Rebel, Everyman.

But what do I know? Do your own research, or share your own opinion on the future Key archetypes!

A crude story:

It is belived that gladiatrices (female gladiators) actually existed, even if informations about them are scarce.

Flavia is a quite well known gladiatrix, specialised in using a long 2 handed sword. Usually, to have a proper defence while not having a shield, she wears a complete armour for her entire body or at least something to protect her most vulnerable part like the chest or the head but this time it won't be necessary. Matches are almost always a secret to participants but sometimes a gladiator can use their influence or money to corrupt officials and gain some knowledge on what is going to happen. She will face a criminal sentenced to the capital punishment in the arena, something not to worry about. In order to save energies for the next fight she decides to not wear her armour, not even the chest piece and utilize just a simple steal pauldron for her left guard.

Sadly for her the official manager this time made a mistake.

You are an experienced gladiatrix pikeman with years of fighting in the arena behind you. As soon as you entere the fighting area you notice something curious: your opponent, Flavia, that famous gladiatrix, is wearing just a water green coloured tunic (with her left breast exposed) and nothing more than a pauldron as an armour. Everybody knows that a swordsman is already in a disadvantage against a pikeman; to join the fight almost naked is simply stupid.

You're standing in front of her, the countdown is running and even if she looks quite calm on the outside there's a strange rhythmic and fast sound echoing almost inaudible nearby... is it her hammering heartbeat?

The fight starts with the public screaming of excitement. You start striking your strongest blows and just after a few blocks, fighting completely passive, she's already exhausted, gasping for air. You relize that inside she's in panic and you know that in few rounds she'll be completely out of stamina so you restart striking.

Each time you suspend your attack she looks more and more drained with the simple act of breathing becoming a burden.

Suddenly you change tactic: instead of keep going on with the attack till total exhaustion, you decide to break her guard with a flat attack using the rod of your pike. The blow is so strong dhe immediately lose her sword violently opening her arm, exposing her full chest.

Your "hunter instinct" immediately identify the target you have to hit to rapidly put an end to the fight: there, few inches above the line that connects her nipples, a little on her left, Flavia's heart is struggling to keep her alive. Her most vital organ is protected only by a thin layer of skin and bones and it's beating so fast it's almost visible on the surface.

No context for what's happening in the story, the irl context is that our Ghost alter finished customizing his car in Need For Speed: No Limits and @atohii 's reaction was funny to me. Credit for the title goes to him. "the Triangle" = the Baltic Triangle, a neighborhood in Liverpool. I hc Price grew up in Anfield and his parents still live there, but his older sister moved to another part of the city when she left home I did way too much research into UK license plates and personalized registration (equivalent of vanity plates) for this tiny thing and I probably still got it wrong "Phantom Rider" = the Rider before the Ghost Rider, whose horse was named Banshee

Ghost looked up from the back of the room, where he leant against a wall with his arms crossed over his chest. He looked strangely vulnerable in just a balaclava, jumper, jeans, and his boots. The MPs had confiscated his hardshell mask with the rest of their gear, and with their rooms blocked off until they were done searching….

Soap refocused on the briefing before he could get too distracted staring at Simon.

“You’re the only one with a civilian vehicle,” Price continued, “if we can take Banshee up to the Triangle, we can hole up at my sister’s while Laswell tries to untangle this.”

Ghost tilted his head in silent consideration.

“Cap, come on,” Gaz said, lips twitching, “you know her name is Flamingly Homosexual Guy Fieri.”

Soap nearly broke his neck whipping it around to stare at his fellow sergeant, wondering hysterically what kind of car could fit that particular moniker.

“Banshee’s shorter,” Price retorted.

“As long as I’m the one driving,” Ghost interrupted before the conversation could devolve further. “It’ll be a tight fit, though.”

“We’ll handle it,” Price said, sternly, and that was that.

Twenty minutes of sneaking around and off-base to a civilian long-term parking structure, and Soap found himself staring at a sensible 2016 Subaru BRZ with a not-so sensible paint job and a registration plate with the UK designator that had to be custom with the false advertising of it all.

“Oh,” he said, as Ghost started her up and the neons on her undercarriage glowed off the concrete. “Flamingly Homosexual Guy Fieri, I get it now.”

Price gave him a friendly slap on the shoulder while Gaz tilted the passenger seat forward and crawled behind it. “BN51 DHE,” he said, pronouncing it perfectly as Bean Sídhe. “Like the Phantom Rider, he said when he got it. Now get in the back.”
