The Marauder was sitting on a world in the Outer Rim called Cassander. It was a lush, green planet with a few major bodies of water. However, most notably, the planet was growing in population and had recently become Ord Mantell's most competitive trading rival.
The ship was nearly empty, except for a singular pilot sitting in the cockpit. She was not the rightful owner of the ship, but had been assigned this mission with the group of rouge clones that did own the ship. The squad was located somewhere in the capital city nearby, attempting to steal the package in which they had come for. The pilot waited patiently for the pickup call.
Now, the pilot had been waiting for nearly two hours for the call to come through the comms. She did everything she could think of to pass the time, which included rummaging through the squad's belongings. Though she didn't find anything of value.
The gonk droid made a noise as he waddled into the cockpit. The pilot went through the ship's log, seeing all the planets the squad had recently visited. Their last stop happened to be Ord Mantell where they were assigned this mission in particular.
"Y/n! Come in," Hunter's voice sounded desperate over the comms. She quickly jolted forward in her seat, pressing the button to relay a message back.
"Read you loud and clear," Y/n responded. She began clicking buttons on the control panel, preparing the ship for liftoff.
"We need a pick up. We've been compromised," Hunter explained. He was panting on the other end of the line, which probably meant they were running.
"What part of stealth mission is so hard to understand?"
"Just hurry. We don't have a lot of time. They're sending air support," Hunter warned her.
"Oh great," Y/n scoffed sarcastically.
"I'm sending you our coordinates," Tech interjected over the communications.
As the Marauder departed off the ground, the landing gear retracted back into the ship. The wings moved downwards as the ship was angled towards the sky. The engine roared to life; the ship began flying towards the rendezvous location.
The workers from the trading post were shooting their blasters at the criminals running away from them. They tried to keep up with them, firing relentlessly as they got away with some of their own goods.
It was Wrecker, Hunter, and Tech who were carrying the heavy cargo in the form of a shipping container. Normally, it would take four guys to carry the cargo, but since Wrecker was so strong, he was able to carry the left side without help. Behind them, Echo and Omega fired shots back at the workers. They covered them as the rest ran as fast as they could.
"Whatever is in here, it better be worth it." Wrecker grunted, dodging the blaster fire.
"As long as we get paid," Hunter responded.
The small squad continued running through the vast forest, maneuvering around trees in hopes of using its coverage to their advantage. They came into a clearing with the workers getting closer each second. All of the sudden, a cliff came into their view which caused them to halt in their place.
"Where's our ride?" Echo asked desperately. He peered around his shoulder with his gun still raised.
"There!" Omega pointed into the sky.
The Marauder rounded the corner of the mountain, coming into their line of view. It flew over to the edge of the cliff to meet them. The ramp lowered to hover right by the cliff, allowing the squad to climb aboard the vessel.
The blaster fire was beginning to hit the sides of the ship. The squad fired back, striking a few of the workers down. Once everyone was aboard, Hunter slammed the button on the side of the wall so the ramp was lifted.
"That's everyone," Hunter shouted. "Get us out of here!"
"Roger that," Y/n said.
Pulling a lever, the thrusters sent a powerful volt back which propelled the ship forward rapidly. By steering the ship, Y/n directed the ship back into the mountain range. She could hear the air support coming up behind them. She took a sharp turn to deter them.
The sharp turn caused each member of the squad to loose their footing and grab something nearby to steady themselves. Carefully, Tech quickly made his way into the cockpit. He leaned over the back of the pilot's seat, resting his hand on the panel for support. He hadn't taken the time to remove his helmet.
"That is sufficient," Tech announced to the pilot. "I'll take it from here."
"A little busy here," Y/n stated instead. She turned the wheel to the left, taking another sharp turn which made everything in the ship turn that way. And Tech ended up leaning a little into her.
"Wrecker," Tech ordered. He moved to sit in the co-pilot seat which was where Echo usually sat. "Get to the tail gun."
There were at least six smaller ships following them at this point, firing as many rounds as possible. The Marauder swayed to the left and right, expertly dodging each blast aimed at them. In the tail gun, Wrecker got into position before firing back at the ships. He managed to hit one of them, but it wasn't enough to bring the ship down.
Back in the cockpit, Tech began pressing a few buttons on the control panel. The pilot glared at him through the corner of her eye, knowing exactly what he was trying to do. She maintained her grip on the sides of the wheel.
"Transitioning controls back to co-pilot," Tech announced. He went to press the final red button, but she swatted his hand away. "What are you doing?" Tech demanded an explanation.
"I know how to fly," Y/n said through gritted teeth. Her eyes were still facing forward as she focused on the task at hand.
"I never said you didn't," Tech informed her. "I am simply stating that I am ready to transition controls back to me as I am more capable of flying this vessel than you. It is my ship after all," Tech said as a matter of factly.
Hunter rolled his eyes in the background. He knew it was pointless to argue over the comment.
"You weren't hired to be the pilot for this mission," Y/n argued back. "I can get us out of this."
With that comment, one of the blaster fires struck the right wing which caused it to catch on fire. The two of them peered out the window, spotting the trail of black smoke falling behind the hit.
"You were saying?" Tech replied. He gestured to the damage done to his ship. She rolled her eyes at him.
A few more ships began trailing behind them. They began firing more shots towards them. There was no way one ship could take the whole fleet down.
"Uh guys," Wrecker announced from the tail gun. "We've got more incoming."
Ignoring the comment, Tech quickly transitioned controls back to his wheel before the other pilot could protest. He gripped the wheel harshly, moving the wheel to take a sharp left hand turn. The ship was forced to swerve around the side of the mountain; a few of the enemy ships crashed into the sides as a result. She switched controls back to her wheel, taking a right hand turn. The ship weaved around another mountainside.
Behind the googles of his helmet, Tech squinted his eyes in slight irritation. He changed controls once again. He quickly grabbed onto the lever, pulling it backwards so the thrusters gave another jolt of energy. Now they were flying a little faster.
Nevertheless, another blaster hit managed to strike the back of the ship. The Marauder jolted forward from the force of the blast. The two pilots lurched forward in their seats. The others continued to hold onto things for support.
"You aren't doing much better," Y/n replied snakily. She reached forward to press the button once more. She turned the wheel as far as she could, which caused the ship to completely turn around. She pulled the lever for the extra push.
"What are you doing?" Tech exclaimed. "Are you trying to get us killed?"
Down in the tail gun, Wrecker began firing at the ships flying directly in front of them. With his expertise, he struck down three ships. Those ships exploded into a million pieces, fierce flames erupting around them. The Marauder flew through the fire without taking damage.
The enemy ships needed to turn around before continuing their chase. They quickly swerved their ships. Once the ships were facing the right way, the thrusters kicked in for that extra power. And the enemy continued their pursuit.
"I will only say this one more time," Tech's modulated voice spoke through his helmet. He turned to face her in his seat. His eyes looked angry behind his googles. "Relinquish controls now."
"Over my dead body," Y/n challenged him. She didn't take her eyes off him.
In the background, Hunter and Echo seemed to raise their eyebrows at the two pilots. They looked between them, half expecting one of them to cave in and go back to flying the ship. But neither of them faltered.
"Uh guys," Omega interrupted them.
Both of them directed their line of attention back towards flying the ship. With a quick maneuver, they managed to dodge the mountain they were heading straight for at the last second. A few more ships crashed into it.
"You're both going to get us all killed if you don't figure something out," Hunter shouted behind them.
Reaching forward, Y/n went to press a few more buttons, but Tech swatted her hand away this time. He went ahead and pressed his own buttons. He was punching in the coordinates for their destination.
"You are not the best pilot in the galaxy," Y/n claimed. She glanced at him through the corner of her eye. He kept putting in the coordinates.
"Hardly a measurable cause," Tech said with a roll of his eyes in annoyance.
"You haven't made the Kessel Run in fourteen parsecs," Y/n added. It was like she was insisting that it could be measurable.
"I have a theory that it can be done in twelve," Tech stated as a matter of factly.
"I highly doubt that," Y/n chuckled at the comment.
Suddenly, Y/n pressed the wheel forward with all of her might. The ship began to descend down at a rapid pace, shifting into a nose dive position. The ground was growing closer and closer with each second. The enemy ships following right behind them, firing non-stop.
Both Hunter and Echo were holding onto panels behind them. The force of falling forwards was pushing them back. They were unable to move.
"You have to pull up--" Tech ordered in a slight panic.
"Oh for the last time," Y/n shouted over him. "I know what I'm doing!"
At the last possible second, the wonderfully skilled pilot pulled the wheel into her chest so that the ship was pulled up. It was so close to touching the ground, but it missed it by a hair. The last two ships crashed into the ground, exploding suddenly and sending debris flying.
Now that the threat of the chase was finally over, Y/n could relax in her seat a little. The rest of the squad was completely silent, realizing that she had managed to get them out of the situation with little damage in the end. Beside her, Tech kept his eye on her since he was still angry with her.
The Marauder started to climb in altitude, shifting towards the edge of the planet's atmosphere. It finally passed through the atmosphere, flying through space. The stars throughout the galaxy sparkled as the planet grew small and smaller. It was now all behind them.
"Are the coordinates to Ord Mantell in?" Y/n wondered. Her voice was so much calmer now. Her shoulders slumped at her sides. But she refused to make eye contact.
"Yes. They are in," Tech informed her softly. His eyes softened behind his helmet. He studied her carefully, trying to figure out what she was thinking in that brain of hers. He quickly shook it off, directing his attention back towards the void of space in front of them.
Without thinking, Tech and Y/n went to reach for the lever to send them into hyperspace. Their hands grazed each other's with neither of them being any closer to the lever than the other. They both awkwardly pulled their hands away upon contact.
"I'm sorry," Y/n muttered under her breath.
He wasn't sure if she was apologizing for the situation they just came out of or the situation that just occurred with the lever. Nevertheless, she reached for the lever once again, pulling it back to send the ship into hyperspace.

Back at Ord Mantell, the Bad Batch went back to Cid's Parlor. They stood on the other side of her desk, having just delivered the cargo that she paid them to retrieve. She peered into the package, checking to make sure everything was there.
Behind the group, Y/n stood there in total silence. Her eyes were trained on the floor as she shifted in her place awkwardly. She waited for their boss to address them.
Beside her, Tech stood about an arm's length away. He glanced at her through the corner of his eye, taking note of her odd demeanor. He raised his finger and opened his mouth to say something to her, but he was rudely cut off.
"Looks like everything is here," Cid announced. She closed the cargo container. She began rummaging through her drawers, collecting the correct amount of credits to pay both parties.
Now Y/n went to take a few steps forward and made her way through the members of the squad. She stood in front of the desk. Her boss went ahead and placed a handful of credits in her hand.
"That is your cut," Cid told her. She handed the rest of the credits to Hunter. "And here is your cut. I'll call you when I have another job," Cid claimed.
There was a brief moment of silence in the room. Cid went to cross her arms over her chest. She narrowed her eyes at the company of six standing in front of her.
"You guys work well together," Cid said honestly. "You should work together more often."
In response, Y/n breathed a scoff under her breath. The boys turned their heads to look at her, slightly surprised at her reaction. She shook her head in denial.
"Yeah. Like that's ever going to happen," Y/n rolled her eyes at the notion.
Without hesitation, she spun around on the heels of her feet in order to head towards the door. She purposely bumped into Tech's shoulder a little too harshly. She left the room with the door closing behind her.
"What's wrong with her?" Cid scoffed. She looked at the rest of the squad for some form of explanation, but none of them said anything. "Fine! Be all quiet and mysterious. See if I care," Cid said.
By the time the Bad Batch left Cid's office, Y/n was nowhere to be found in the bar. They went to sit down at the bar so they could order drinks to celebrate another successful mission. They sat in complete silence, thinking about what transpired during the mission.
"Where do you think she's gone?" Echo wondered.
Though they never pulled missions together, the Bad Batch knew that the pilot worked for Cid and was stationed at Ord Mantell. They had seen her quite often over the past few months. They had grown familiar of her. And now they worried about her.
"The odds are that she returned to her flat," Tech explained. He pushed the bridge of his googles up to be more secure on his face. He kept his focus on his data pad.
"Probably," Hunter shrugged his shoulders. "But it's late. Which means it's dark out."
"Astute observation," Tech claimed sarcastically. He gave a single nod, but didn't take his eyes off his data pad.
"And she's walking back to her flat...at the edge of town...late at night," Hunter further explained.
"She will be fine," Tech stated. He knew where he was going with this. "She is always saying how she can take care of herself and doesn't need our help. Why would that change now?"
The other members remained silent. They turned their heads to take quick glances at one another. With a silent agreement, Hunter rose to his feet and went to stand by Tech. He roughly grabbed his shoulders and hoisted him out of his seat, much to his dismay.
"Go find her. Make sure she gets home safe. And apologize to her," Hunter ordered.
"I do not see why I have to be the one to apologize when I did noth--" Tech began. He was quickly cut off.
"Tech," Hunter said in a warning tone of voice. He crossed his arms over his chest, showing that he meant business.
"Fine," Tech said in defeat. "I will apologize."
With some hesitation, Tech grabbed his helmet and fitted it over his head. He began making his way towards the door of the parlor, leaving the rest of his crew behind. He walked through the deserted streets of Ord Mantell, passing a few shady people in the process.
Now Tech knew that she lived near the edge of town because she had once mentioned it during a conversation. Besides that, Tech really didn't know where to look and simply hoped he'd bump into her before she got home so he'd know she was safe. He passed by a few alleys, peeking through each one briefly.
The Marauder was parked in a hanger bay only a few blocks away from the parlor. Just as Tech passed by the hanger, he heard a familiar voice coming from his very own ship. He backtracked by taking two steps backwards. He peered into the hangar bay to glance at his ship.
Stepping into the bay, Tech tilted his head to the side in slight curiosity. The right wing of the ship began to move downwards until it lay completely horizontal. A few seconds later, Y/n began descending down the ramp with a toolbox in hand. She walked over to the wing of the ship.
Upon seeing her, Tech sharply inhaled. He felt the back of his throat close up and his shoulders tensed at his sides. He hesitantly took a few steps forward, fiddling with his fingers nervously.
Reaching upwards, Y/n placed the single toolbox onto the flat surface of the ship's wing. She proceeded to grab onto the wing before hoisting herself up onto it. She climbed to the center of the wing to assess the damage inflicted in the crossfire.
At this point, Y/n had no idea that he was also in the hanger bay with her. She opened the toolbox, rummaging through to find the right tool. The damage done to the right wing was a massive gaping hole with burnt edges from the fire. It would eventually need a panel welded to cover it up again. But for now, she focused on the internal repairs.
Thankfully, from the assessment, nothing major had been hit. A few bolts had gotten loose and a few parts needed to be replaced. She focused on that for now.
After grabbing a socket spanner, Y/n leaned down to place her arm into the gaping hole of the wing. It went so far down that her chest was practically pressed against the surface of the wing. She used the spanner to tighten some bolts.
"What...are you doing?" Tech decided to finally announce his presence. He stepped forward until he stood in the light coming from the opening of the hanger bay.
Upon hearing that familiar voice, Y/n only rolled her eyes to herself. She continued her work as she preferred to focus on repairs rather than on him. She grunted softly, making sure that first bolt was nice and tight.
"What do you want Tech?" Y/n wondered. She pulled her arm out of the hole to assess her work. She didn't even bother to glance towards him, knowing he would have sent her a look of disapproval for working on his ship.
Slowly, Tech began to lower his gaze to the floor. He contemplated his next words carefully, fighting the urge to lash out at her for meddling with his ship. He liked things to be a certain way and would have much preferred if he did the actual repairs. Now Tech didn't want to fight with her so he changed his approach.
"I analyzed that you left the parlor on your own and thought it would be better if I accompany you back home," Tech explained. She huffed at his answer.
"I've told you before," Y/n began. "I can--"
"Take care of yourself," Tech finished. He adjusted the lenses of his goggles though he still wore his helmet. He noticed how she fell silent. "Yes, I've gathered that much."
"Why are you really out here?" Y/n wondered. She went to lean down again in order to tighten more bolts.
"I...could ask you the same," Tech replied slowly. He honestly felt like this was the first civil conversation they had ever had.
"I wanted to make some repairs on your precious ship since it was apparently my fault," Y/n claimed. Her tone sounding a little harsher now. She tightened two more bolts in the process.
"That is not what I meant," Tech interjected. He took a step forward. He gazed up at her figure perched on the wing, attempting to reason with her. "I was...caught up in the moment. Shouldn't have said those things," Tech confessed quietly.
"Well, don't worry. As soon as I finish up these repairs, I'll leave and you'll never have to see me again," Y/n responded.
For some reason, Tech couldn't combat a response to her comment. He simply nodded his head understandingly. He lowered his gaze to stare down at the ground and allowed her to finish her repairs in silence. He thought for some time how he could fix this relationship since it wasn't his strong suit. Fixing things was more his style.
"Blast," Y/n's voice pulled him out of his train of thought. He glanced up at her.
The sleeve of her blue flight suit had gotten in the way of her repairs. She had rolled her sleeves up to keep the material out of her way, but the sleeves continued to fall back down to her wrists every time she placed her arm in the hole. She pulled back and rose to her feet.
Without hesitation, Y/n's hands flew to the top button of her flight suit. She began to undue the buttons in which she revealed the black tank top underneath. All the while, Tech studied her carefully as her nimble fingers worked steadily. His pupils dilated behind those goggles of his.
Upon reaching her waistline, Y/n had stopped unbuttoning and shrugged the suit off her shoulders. She tied the sleeves around her waist. She dropped to her knees to continue working without the distraction of her clothes getting in the way.
Slowly, Tech raised his hand to the side of his head and clicked the bottom to save the recording to the drive. He records everything and he was certainly glad he recorded that. He wanted to revisit the recording later for his own 'research' purposes.
"There," Y/n sighed. She sat back on her knees, wiping her dirty hands on the pants of her flight suit. "Repairs are finished."
Naturally, Y/n began to pack away the tools she used and placed them back into the box. She closed the lid of the toolbox, tossing it over the edge of the wing for it to land on the ground with a thump. She then proceeded to jump down off the wing of the ship, landing a little hard so her knees buckled slightly.
Just like she promised, Y/n had every intention of leaving the hanger bay so that they'd never have to see her again. She went to walk away, but just as she passed beside him, Tech reached out and grabbed her forearm. She halted in her steps.
Neither of them could look at each other. She felt his gloved fingers digging into her bare skin, but not hard enough that it would leave marks. She slowly turned to look at him, but he kept his head down.
"I...really came here to apologize," Tech confessed. When Tech lifted his gaze to meet her face, he saw how her eyebrows went up in slight surprise. It definitely caught her off guard.
"I see," Y/n thought about his words carefully. She shifted her balance from one foot to the other. "So all those things you said back on Cassander where just...what?"
He closed his eyes, seriously regretting everything he said. "Like I said earlier, in the moment, I was incredibly frustrated with you."
"Because I wouldn't give up the controls?" Y/n said flatly.
"No, because I recognize that my levels of dopamine are elevated when I'm around you and I distance myself from you in order to prevent that from happening,” Tech confessed before he could even stop himself.
But now, hearing what he just said, Tech quickly averted his gaze away from her. He was thankful to be wearing his helmet so she wouldn't see how bright his cheeks had gotten. He released his grip on her arm, letting it fall back down to his side.
For once, Y/n actually understood what he said. Her eyebrows rose in surprise at this sudden confession. She definitely did not expect him to blurt out his emotions that night, especially after their fight on the ship. She knew better than to tease him at a time like this.
"I-I don't understand why," Tech said rather sadly. That was the first time that he'd spoken those words out loud.
What broke her heart was the tone of defeat laced with his words. It told her that he'd been wrestling with these foreign emotions and thoughts for some time. He didn't know how to react around her and so he acted with defense. He pushed those feeling away, fighting against it.
Hesitantly, Y/n lifted her hands to the sides of his helmet. She went to remove his helmet slowly, revealing his face to her for the first time today. She tossed the helmet to the side without a care in the world, but he still refused to meet her gaze.
"You are probably repulsed by me," Tech began. "From the way I treated you and the words I said to--"
But Tech wasn't able to finish that sentence. Because Y/n had taken his face in her hands and leaned upwards to press her lips against his own. He froze in his place.
His eyes were wide open in surprise. His hands were elevated on either side of him because he didn't know what to do with them. He could feel the softness of her lips still against his own. Before Tech had the chance to process what was happening, Y/n pulled away from him.
The two of them were standing so close together; the chests being pressed against one another's. Their breath mingled as their noses bumped together once or twice. He glanced down at her lips because he wanted nothing more than to taste them once more.
His hands found their way down to her hips with one hand sneaking around her lower back. He pressed that hand into her back which brought her body even closer to his. She released a small gasp.
"Apology accepted," Y/n whispered to him. She played with the edge of the plastoid armor on his chest. "And I'm sorry for the way I acted towards you."
"Why cyare?" Tech wondered. He raised his hand to the side of her face, tucking a single strand of hair behind her ear. He held his hand against her cheek.
"I should have given up the controls. You are the better pilot and it is your ship," Y/n explained with a shake of the head.
"I am not the better pilot," Tech stated firmly.
There was a moment of silence between them. "I can't make split second decisions and calculations like you do when you're flying."
"Well, I've never done the Kessel Run." Tech argued back playfully. He smiled down at her. "At least, not in twelve parsecs."
"Fourteen," Y/n corrected him. "I did it in fourteen."
"Fine. Fourteen," Tech caved in.
Slowly, Tech tilted his head to the side and began to lean down with every intention of kissing her again. But the two of them were interrupted when someone cleared their throat over by the entrance of the hanger bay. The two of them quickly pulled apart and turned to face whoever had interrupted them.
The other members of the Bad Batch stood looking at them near the entrance of the hanger. It was initially Hunter who had cleared his throat to garner their attention; he stood with his arms folded across his chest just as a disapproving father would. Beside him, Wrecker and Omega were practically squealing with each other. They couldn't contain their excitement. And Echo averted his gaze in an awkward manner.
"Care to explain yourselves?" Hunter hinted. He glanced between the two of them with a playful smirk on his face.
"I think they finally confessed that they like each other," Wrecker interrupted. His words coming out louder than anticipated. He nudged Echo who stood beside him.
"You think?" Echo glanced at him.
"It's exciting, isn't it?" Omega smiled at them.
Meanwhile, Tech quickly collected his helmet off the ground and placed it over his head once again. He hoped it would cover the blush creeping up his neck to his face. He knew he wouldn't hear the end of the taunting from his brothers anytime soon.
"Well boys. It looks like we got another member on our crew," Hunter said slowly. "Welcome to the Bad Batch."

“Tech?”
“Yes?”
“...what is that?”
Life on Pabu was breezy. Safe, protected, warm, and happy; Pabu was cut from a different cloth than the rest of the galaxy, light despite the unrelenting weight of Empirical oppression. Thus was why the Bad Batch had chosen it to hunker down and perhaps create some roots somewhere not centered around war and pain.
With the entrance of the Batch on Pabu, came the entrance of Tech into Y/N’s life.
Peculiar, that one was, but you couldn’t help but find yourself enamored by him. Naturally, it was a slow progression between the two of you, with a friendship forming before the man even started processing the second layer of your relationship. Even with the ever so gracious help of Omega, Tech was oblivious to the little hints, the tension that organically formed, and could not fathom why you would go out of your way to do the simplest of things for him.
Tech was more than capable of feeding himself, yet from time to time dinner was brought over with claims of having extra. He knew there was no way you, who lived alone, would have this much leftover food for one meal yet the possibility of you intentionally making this just to bring it to him was unrealistic—and even further, impossible.
It had been Hunter who had let him in on the not so hidden fact that dinner nights with you weren’t really meant for them all. Yes, you were all of their friend—but those visits, that thought and care was for Tech. He had argued, of course, and it had been Omega this time who informed him that that was just what you do.
“What they care for someone, they do things for them,” she explained as if it was the most obvious thing as she tinkered with some gadget. “Y/N makes dinner for all of us, but they always make your favorites, Tech. You know,” she turned, grinning at her brothers, “they always carry a cloth in case you need to clean your goggles.” With that, the girl stood from her seat, gathering her things and exiting the room, leaving behind an air of wisdom of someone much older than her. She did that often, and that was why Tech slightly believed her.
Upon further research, Tech discovered what was known as a love language. The dots, how ever he missed them before, finally connected in his mind in the late of night.
Rules he upheld with his brothers and Omega, he was more lax with you. Your presence when he was not in the mood to socialize was more tolerable than the rest, and he recalled all the times he had observed and factually stated that you were beautiful to himself. Beauty, though subjective in nature, was a natural occurrence in life. And Tech was not afraid of the truth, and the truth was that you had been beautiful all along, and he had thought of you slightly more special than most others he knew.
That was what had led them to this moment. Tech had stayed up all night, working into the wee hours of morning on as many projects as he could manage. And then, waiting until he knew you would go about your usual tasks of the day, he trekked to your home and installed every creation he had produced.
“You complained that the cover over your walkway floods your garden when it rains, so I created a funneling system to redirect the waterflow elsewhere,” he answered, pushing his goggles up his nose. “And you mentioned a draft because your front door would not close all the way, so I fixed it. And the side window that was previously cracked has been replaced with an upgraded version.”
Your heart squeezed in your chest as you watched him rock ever so slightly on his feet, glancing at you here and there but not keeping his eyes on one thing too long, and it struck you that he must have been nervous. While Tech was known to fidget, nerves were not something he displayed signs of hardly ever, and heat gathered in your cheeks.
The sun was warm, Tech was as handsome as ever, and your smile could not have been any larger. “An upgraded version, huh?” Your eyebrows raised playfully, voice light as you took one step closer.
“Yes, upgraded,” he affirmed seriously before continuing, beginning to walk away. “As per your complaints, the window offered no privacy nor did it—” he cut himself off, stopping in his tracks when he noticed you hadn’t walked off with him. Instead of grumbling or giving a sarcastic quip, as he was ever inclined to do, he backtracked until your hand was grasped in his. He tugged your arm lightly, beckoning you to follow him as he resumed his explanation. “As I was saying, nor did it filter any of Pabu’s natural light in your home, so…” he trailed off until the two of you were planted right in front of the said window on the side of your house.
It was your bedroom window to be exact, and true to his word, it was no longer cracked.
But instead of regular transparasteel, the surface had been frosted over. You could no longer see right into the room, but instead see little designs in the glass, swirls and such riddled all over the place. “I made this last night,” he offered, looking between you and the window, voice much softer than before. “The light, it will not be as harsh on you, and you now have privacy while still having the effect of an open window, which…” he exhaled ever so slightly, the weight of your hand in his heavy on his mind as he looked over at you once again, “which I know you love.”
He was right. You had mentioned that the solution to your problem was as simple as some curtains, but then that would eliminate the natural light as a whole and that was the opposite of what you wanted. You had not had the skills or the mindset to create the solutions to these problems, though not detrimental in severity, but for some reason Tech had taken it upon himself to be the one to remedy them.
“Tech…” you whispered, looking at him with a tender love he was not used to receiving. It made his heart rate accelerate in his chest, as he thought back to all of the acts of service you had done for not only him but his family as well.
You had loved him to the point of service, and Tech had realized that he loved you to the point of invention.
“No need to mention it,” he whispered back, unable to fight off the blush in his cheeks as you smiled at him. “That is just what people do when they care. You taught me that.”

Hollow — Tech x GN!Reader Batcher
Tumblr media
Description: Tech x GN!Reader Batcher, established relationship; POV is 1st person so there's no use of gendered pronouns (: Warnings: Angst, major character death, grief, very vague allusion to suicidal thoughts and self-destructive tendencies Word Count: 916
A/N: This is the first time I've really written any fandom content since high school. Or at least, with the intention of letting others read it. Tried to balance the mix of recounting the past while also shifting to how reader/oc is in the present which can be tricky so I hope it reads well.
Everything happened so fast.
It was like any other mission gone bad — shots from grounded enemies, shots from the sky, and having to problem-solve on the fly amidst the chaos. Then… it was very different.
There was a violent shake as the rail cars were hit and then I was looking down at my husband hanging far below the car. Momentarily, all sound became an indistinguishable noise, garbled voices of distress mixed with ringing and roaring in my ears, as you struggled to climb up to the car.
As I moved to help you, the car creaked and, snapping back to reality, I heard you shout up, “Whoa! Don't! Any shift in weight could send both of these cars over. You must sever the connection hinge. Now!” Wrecker and I immediately exclaimed our rejection of that idea. I could feel my panic rising, my desperation increasing. There must be something. There HAS to be something. Anything to fix this mess and save you.
Your next words, spoken so calmly and matter-of-fact, slammed into me. “There is no time, cyare. Plan 99.” “Don’t. You. Dare, Tech.” My voice cracked on your name. Gently, desperately, I repeated my words, punctuating them with “please”. Your eyes locked with mine — soft, sad, and full of love. “I love you, cyar’ika, but when have we ever followed orders?”
When you shot the connection and began to fall, a deafening scream ripped out of me. “NO!” My body automatically lunged for the side with my hand outstretched before Wrecker grabbed me and held me firmly. Thrashing to escape his grasp as the car began to move, I screamed, “TECH! No! No no no! Go back!”
As the car got further and further away, the shock of the situation overtook me — numb, unseeing, unmoving with that same mix of indistinguishable sounds in my ears. My body went into a survival autopilot – moving as prompted but I wasn’t there – and the team had to help drag me back to the Marauder through the attacks.
Once aboard the Marauder, standing in the middle of our quarters, my knees gave out as I crumbled. Ripping off my helmet and goggles, my agonized sobs finally broke free and echoed through the ship. So full of grief, my body shaking, I leaned forward on my hands for support, fingers digging into the metal floor. One hand reached up, taking my chained wedding ring from underneath my undershirt and I clutched it so hard a mark was left in my hand.
At some point, I had stopped crying and left my body. I didn’t even know the ship stopped. Feeling a gentle hand on my shoulder, the only acknowledgment of awareness I could give was a hoarse, emotionless mumble, “You should have let me go with him.”
From there, I don’t truly remember much of anything. There’s a blur of being dragged to my feet and out of the ship, and of having wet hair and clean clothes while AZ checked me over with no memory of cleaning up or changing. I’m ashamed to say that I don’t even truly remember Omega being taken. All I truly remember from the past month and a half is waves of soul-crushing pain surrounded by numbness as I attempted to lose myself in my work. I keep crying and feeling flashes of disbelief and anger. I’ve lost my appetite… and my desire for self-preservation. All this while moving on autopilot to complete my tasks and finish the mission. Find and save Omega. That is all that matters right now.
Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo are concerned for me, often pushing food on me and otherwise fussing. Up until now, there were eyes on me almost all the time, it felt like, and I hated it, but I understood why they hovered. Echo left a couple of weeks after the events to rejoin Rex, but I still hear him comm Hunter every so often to check in on me and find out how the search for Omega is going.
The days are often easier than the nights since I’ve taken on most of Tech’s tasks alongside my own. Hunter and Wrecker have tried to take some of them, wishing to lighten my load, but I adamantly refuse. I need them. I need the memory of helping with and hearing about them from him by doing them. They’ve let the situation be, but still intervene to make me sleep.
That’s when it gets unbearable.
The emptiness beside me screams, his scent got fainter with each passing day until it disappeared, remembering the quiet moments we shared in this space, and hearing his final words on a loop in the silence. Once the exhaustion finally takes me… I often watch Tech fall and wake with tears streaming down my face or stinging eyes and a heavy heart. Some nights, I think Hunter has been slipping me medicine in my food ‘cause those are the only nights I get any decent sleep.
Despite all this, I have, believe it or not, been getting better. Slowly, I began to reengage with the boys and be open with them. They stopped having to watch me as close or force me to take care of myself. Now, it’s reminders and intervention as necessary along with occasional check-ins when I seem particularly off one day. I’m still far from okay and I won’t ever be the same but, thanks to our brothers, I become a little less hollow each day.

The right parts (Tech x Reader) Western AU
Summary: You have been Pabu Creek's blacksmith for a long while, a fact that the local inventor, Tech, appreciated, since you were more than capable of making his custom parts.
Wild West AU with a gender neutral reader. No warnings, just sweet, awkward Tech, and first-kiss cuteness.
A.N: I've been seeing western AU stuff for the bad batch for a while, but I directly credit @emperor-palpaminty for this, as falling into their western au tag really got me inspired ❤️
If you wanna read more headcanons I have for my take on this AU, I have some here, and this might become a series of oneshots. Also, this has a bit of a steampunk-y vibe, hope you don't mind!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most in town avoided the workshop. They were put off by the strange bangs and pops and hisses that rang behind those barn doors at every hour. Tech was treated...well enough by the town folk, but most would admit they were more put off by him than the other boys in his family.
Mostly, they just didn't understand him, his ramblings and rantings. They could admire Hunter and Wrecker's strength, Rex and Echo's veteran past, but Tech's mind? All those lofty textbooks and strange contraptions?
It was all just a bit much for the average person.
Still, most knew and appreciated how much their little town had benefited from Tech. His knowledge and inventions had helped many of them, just as much as the crops his brothers grew and the protection his cousins offered. And they appreciated it nonetheless.
But what they appreciated just as much, was the fact that you were one of the only persons willing to brave the infamous workshop.
Your satchel was hefty today, clinking with Tech's newest order, and you adjusted it on your shoulder as you lifted your fist to knock on the iron-braced door.
There was a metallic clatter on the other side, a muffled curse, and the shuffle of feet. In a groan of hinges the door opened, and there was Tech. Soot smeared across his cheek and forehead, sleeves rolled up well past his elbows, and glasses askew.
It was a true testament to how fond he was of you, that a small smile lifted his lips when his eyes met yours.
"Perfect timing," he greeted, eyes darting down to the bag resting on your hip.
Leaving the door wide open, Tech quickly turned and headed back into the depths of his workshop, knowing you would follow.
"Evening to you too," you smirked, stepping in after him.
As you shut the door behind you, you lifted your satchel off your shoulder, relishing the lifted weight. Tech's main set of workbenches (yes, set, not one simple table) sat along the adjoining wall, with blueprints, scribbled notes, broken parts, and tools scattered atop every surface. There was a clear space directly in front of where Tech stood, and that's where you set his order.
He untied the strap with care and tilted the bag so its contents rolled out with ease. The hum of approval that followed made your skin tingle just a little.
"Yes, yes," Tech muttered, lifting the first piece of metalwork to the light shining through the window, "these are just as I hoped. Exquisite work, as always." He looked over at you then, adjusting his glasses, "Then again, I expect nothing less from talent such as yours."
Your face was burning at the compliment, mouth dry even as you gave him a smile of your own. "Well, your sketches are always easy to work with," you said, reaching for the papers tucked into your vest pocket.
Tech repeatedly expressed how thankful he was that the town blacksmith was versatile in their work, as he always seemed to need custom parts for whatever machine he was working on at the moment. You were always happy to oblige, welcoming the challenge and change of pace. One could only make so many nails and horseshoes before they got bored.
While you tossed his latest specs back onto the pile of design sketches, Tech completed his examination of your work. Then, he slid off his round spectacles and grabbed his goggles, another piece of your handywork.
"As I said, your timing could not have been better, my dear," he tightened the strap, "as I'm a hair away from completing my latest project.
"Do you need any help?"
He paused as he reached for his tool set, "Oh, I- yes!" he cleared his throat, "If you don't have anything else pressing to attend to, an extra set of hands would be appreciated."
You waved your hand at the rest of the open building, "Lead the way."
Tech had, many projects. Some with thick layers of dust, some in several pieces, others he came back to often. To the untrained eye, it all looked like piles of junk, but you had been in here enough over the years that you recognized that it was just a result of Tech hyperactive mind. He had trouble staying on one project for long, though sometimes, like this current machine, he managed it.
After leading you to the very back of the barn-like building, Tech set down his toolbox beside the strange contraption. For lack of a better comparison, you likened its shape to a metal bull of sorts, with thin wheels for legs and a large opening where its head might have been. Though, if Tech heard you collating it to an animal, he'd probably raise a confused brow. He cared little for aesthetics, after all.
"If you could hold this," Tech cut through your musings, holding up a paneled section of the machine's side.
You took it from him, holding it up on its hinges so he could all but climb inside.
"Ah, now I get it," you smiled seeing what part he was working on, "you're trying to increase the pressure."
"Precisely, there was too much steam loss, which resulted in slower forward motion, which itself resulted in the wheels getting caught on every minor obstruction in its path."
You let him ramble on as he tinkered with this, adjusted that, working your new parts in one at a time. He did use your hands, asking you to press down on one thing, hold another in place, it all made the process faster.
When he was done there, Tech threw open the barn doors in front of the machine, giving it somewhere to go when he as he ran his final test. Then, he asked you to help him load the fuel source to start that test run. The thing seemed to roar to life the moment it had its food, and the gears Tech had commissioned from your last week began to turn- before stalling almost instantly.
"Oh no no no no!" Tech ran his fingers through the tight curls of his hair as he looked about, "That should have worked! Why isn't it working!?"
"Tech," you grabbed his arm and pointed to the ceiling, "you still have it chained up!"
His eyes went wide as he looked at his suspension rig, which he often used to lift machines for easier alterations. Without a word, he leapt onto the would-be bull, climbing onto its back and began working at the chains, worried something would break from the strain.
The moment the machine was free it lurked forward, gears cranking and turning- and throwing Tech off its back as it took off. Your heart leapt into your throat as he came soaring down, and your arms flew open without another thought.
With a great thud, Tech's body collided with your own, sending you both tumbling down to the dirt floor. You could smell the coal and tang of metal that clung to Tech like a cologne, being that he was laying right on top of you. He drew in a shaky breath, nose brushing against your cheek as he propped himself up on his elbow, which also just so happened to be on either side of your head.
He fixed his goggles, which had gone askew, and blinked down at you, "My apologies," he breathed, "I did not mean to-"
"Tech," you cut him off, cupping your hands on his face so you could turn it in the direction of the doors, "it works, your machine works!"
Indeed, the large contraption was grinding and lurching down the open field surrounding his workshop with great power. He let out a laugh, turning his head back to you.
"It does indeed! This is wonderful, Wrecker's next harvest will go much more smoothly now."
You were sure the way you smiled up at him was soft, too soft to be just a friendly smile, but you didn't stop yourself from saying, in an equally gentle tone, "Your brilliant mind never ceases to amaze me."
You saw him draw in a sharp breath, and thought something in his eyes...shifted. "And you, my darling, never cease to amaze me with your handiwork." Was he..was he leaning in closer to you? "Not many people can understand me, and you always do so without fail."
His eyes were half-lidded now, as he placed one of his hands over yours, which was still holding his face. You couldn't help but hold your breath as he just looked down at you, thumb caressing the back of your hand.
"Your palms, they're...rough," he whispered rather absent-mindedly.
You couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, "So are yours," you grumbled back, and watched his eyes widen.
"Oh! No, I like them- your hands, I mean. I like that they're rough."
This time your eyes held interest, and you leaned up ever so slightly, "You do, do you?"
He gulped and this time, you knew he was moving closer to you, "Yes, very much so. I dare say, I love everything about you, my sweet."
And then his lips were on yours.
They were chapped but moved with an unexpected grace. The hand that had been placed over yours moved to cup your cheek. You responded in kind, taking your own hands and sliding them back to curl into his hair. He let out a moan, a moan that caught in his throat when you tilted your head to deepen the kiss.
It was then that you were fully reminded of the fact that he was laying atop you. His leg moved seemingly of its own accord, pressing between your thighs in a way that had your chest stirring with something new.
Unfortunately, a sound echoed from across the field, and you pulled yourself out of your heated haze long enough to pull back just a little. Tech was not discouraged, his mind fixated on the task before him, and he simply moved his mouth to your jawline.
"T-Tech," you all but moaned, and the deep hum he gave in response had your mind spinning. He must like it when you say his name. "We- need to go catch your machine."
His breath was hot against your ear as he nuzzled your skin, "Do we have to, my dear? I am far more intrigued by my current project."
You didn't have time to unpack whether or not you liked being called his project, because you were untangling your finger from his curls to gently push on his chest.
"We can always continue this later, mr beautiful mind, but for now, I'm pretty sure that thing is heading for Cid's saloon."
Again, Tech's eyes went wide, any aforementioned lust vanishing. "Oh, dear!"

Behind the Scenes | V.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: Being Vox’s girlfriend requires some patience after twelve hour work days.
pairing: Vox x fem!reader
includes: Vox and Velvette bullying one another, VALENTINO BEING A MENACE, mentions of Angel’s job, drinking, fluff, yelling, Vox being a baby, cursing, implications of being a prostitute, suggestiveness, both of them being teases (that’s it, let me know if i missed any!)
a/n: i think writing hazbin fics is my stress outlet 😭
Tumblr media
You were Vox’s. And Vox was yours. Every demon and sinner in Pride Ring knew due to Vox taking time out of his busy work day to shower you with compliments in every press interview or host show when you were brought up. Especially when Vox would be the first one to find you after you finished modeling for Velvette’s show, making sure the paparazzi had photos of him praising you with kisses and soft touches.
Of course, you reciprocated every moment… In the public eye. Behind the cameras and screens, Vox was very much loving. But he did work for almost twelve hours each day, which required patience from you whenever he came home to you in a sour mood.
“Do you need me for anything else, Vel?” You glance back at your phone as you pour red wine into your glass.
“No,” She scribbled down measurement adjustments for another model’s design, looking back up at her screen after hearing an electrical shock from your side of the phone. “But do tell your boy toy that you have a dress rehearsal early tomorrow morning, and that you have to be there on time.”
Vox wrapped his arm around your waist, glaring at the young overlord through your phone. “Fuck off, Velvette.”
You feel him resting his head against your shoulder as he presses soft kisses on your neck, your dead heart fluttering. “I’ll be there on time.”
“Good.” She rolled her eyes at your boyfriend’s actions before ending the call.
“What’s your damage today, handsome?” You ask before sipping on your drink, red lipstick staining the clear glass. You watch as he mutters something incoherent, static emitting from his hat. “Vox, talk to me.”
“That bitch Carmilla won’t meet up, and it’s been several days since our last update on Vox technology.” He sighs as he moves around you, his voice crackling with electricity. “Shareholders have been up my fucking ass all morning about it— Valentino keeps trying to get me to watch his stupid porn feels featuring Angel.”
He removes his suit jacket as he complains, walking toward the large living space including a minibar. Vox pulls at his tie and reaches for the whiskey underneath, “Now Velvette wants to be an ass and complain about me wanting to spend time with you—“
“My love,” You hand him a glass from the cabinets, letting your hand linger on his for a bit. “Vel’s my boss, and I’m her best model. She needs me for these rehearsals.”
“You’re really taking her side?” He tilts back his head and downs the drink in one go, pouring another.
You roll your eyes at his childish behavior, “I’m not taking sides, I’m pointing out a fact.” You sit on the stool by the bar, letting him slot himself between your legs. “If anything, I’m listening to you describing your day.”
“Mm.” He let one hand come down and rest on your hip, rubbing soft circles. “Tell me about your day.”
“Boring, tiring. Pretty much the same every day.” You grab his wrist to ensure he doesn’t go any lower or any higher. “According to your assistant, I do have a lot of things planned tomorrow. So that should be exhausting.”
Vox linked your hands together, “Sounds stressful.”
“Not as bad as yours every day.” You press a kiss on his palm. “I was gonna watch a movie while waiting for you, but now that you’re here—“ You shift your wine glass in your hand as he puts his own glass down, letting him trail his hands to your waist. “Want to join me?”
“Of course.” He presses a chaste kiss to your lips before trailing after you. “What movie are we watching?”
“Whatever the first thing I find.” You let Vox sit on the couch before doing the same, swinging your legs over his lap. “You need a new rotation on Voxflix, I’ve watched almost everything.”
“I’ll get on that.” He mumbled as he ran his hand up and down your leg, occasionally squeezing.
You hum and shift your gaze to the television, scrolling through the different movies. “How do we feel about—“
A ringtone filled the air, both of you freezing at the noise.
“Vox—“
“Give me a second.” He let you pull your legs away and pulled the ringing from his screen to his phone, camera-ready voice leaving his mouth.
You sigh but find a movie worth watching, pulling your knees up. Around halfway through, you decided that the movie was meretricious, heavily judging the poorly made movie more than the other ones you’ve watched. You typed your review on your phone, giving the movie two stars before—
“—THEN GET SOME LOW LIFE SINNER TO DO YOUR FUCKING JOB FOR YOU!” You heard Vox scream from the kitchen, making you wince for the poor soul on the other end. “AND IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE SHIT I GIVE YOU, JUST KNOW I HAVE YOUR FUCKING SOUL IN CONTRACT!”
You pause the movie and get up, taking slow steps to your hotheaded boyfriend. He shuffled across the kitchen, walking back and forth as his fans kicked on. His white shirt was unbuttoned and his sleeves were rolled up like he was going to commit a crime.
“YOU LITTLE PIECE OF—“
“Vox,” You come up from behind and wrap your arms around his chest, resting your head on his shoulder. “It’s outside of your work hours.”
“Fucking—“ He rubbed his temple as he heard the sinner go silent on the other line. Vox took one hand and laced it with yours, “You’re lucky my wife is generous you ungrateful fuck.” He ended the call before muttering more curses, turning you in his arms so you were facing his front.
You let your hands move up to his shoulders, massaging the heavy tension in them. “Am I your wife now? Is that what you’ve been telling those sinners?”
“Maybe.” He let out a loud groan from the sensation, fans still running. “The fucking bitch in accounting is—“
“You’re not working right now, stop.” You give him a pointed look. “I need you to relax.”
Vox wrapped his arms around your waist, walking you backward toward the living area once more. “God, I’m in love with you.”
“I love you too.” You chuckle as he peppers kisses on your face. You let out a noise of surprise when he pulls you into his lap, hands gripping his shoulders for support. “Vox!”
“Yes?” He pressed kisses to your exposed collarbone.
You sigh in content but grab the corners of his screen, giving him a cheeky grin. “Tomorrow, my love. Velvette will murder the both of us if I show up late with bruises.”
“I’ll pay her to let you have a day off tomorrow.” He slipped his hand up your shirt, sharp claws bringing chills to your skin.
“So now you’re paying to be with me?” You raise a brow, stifling a laugh when he stops all movements. “Am I some kind of—“
“Of course not! Do not finish that sentence.” He pushed you down on the couch, covering your mouth. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
You laugh at how protective he is over you from himself. “I know you didn’t mean it like that, I was kidding.”
Vox dropped his head down to your shoulder, “You’re such a tease.”
“I’m the best.” You squeeze his bicep. “But seriously, Vel will have our heads strung outside the tower.”
“Whatever.” He flipped you both over, letting you rest your head on his chest. “I’ll have you all to myself this weekend.”
You hum, pressing a kiss on the corner of his screen. “I’m sure you do, handsome.”
“My love, I will cancel all your plans this weekend if you tell me I can’t have you.” Vox traces his finger down your spine. “Don’t tell me you have any.”
“I don’t…” You turn your head as he runs his claws through your hair. You feel yourself warm as he wraps a blanket over the both of you, flicking the television to play with a snap of his fingers.
“What do we rate the movie today?” He played with the ends of your hair, face pulling a grimace at the movie’s corny script.
“Two stars.” You mumble as your gaze shifts to the television. As the television fades to black in an awkward transition, you see Vox staring at you rather than the screen. “What are you looking at, weirdo?”
“My beautiful girlfriend.” He squeezed your hip. “Who I love very much.”
You let a small laugh slip through your lips, grinning brightly at his words. “I love you very much too, weirdo.”

Hunter not being able to have the time or place to relieve himself pls ☺️
One explicit&short sexy Hunter smut coming right up!
"TEN MINUTES OF PRIVACY"
TBB REQUESTS —HUNTER/F READER 📩🔥
WARNINGS: HUNTER BEING SEXY, HUNTER BEING CAUGHT ON THE ACT, HUNTER BEING KISSED AND TOUCHED.
Hunter was a responsible man. He had been taught to be like that; always taking care of his men, his squad. He worked towards his objectives with his brothers on his mind; always trying to secure their safety no matter how dangerous the situations they found themselves in were. Now, though... Now Hunter only wanted to take care of one thing; himself.
It felt like ages since he had had the time to relieve himself. They had been busy, that wasn't a doubt; first taking care of Tech's precarious health after Eriadu, then reuniting with Omega and Crosshair... And now even Echo was back on the Marauder. It was as crampt as it had ever been; and though Hunter loved his family with all his heart, he just wanted fifteen minutes of privacy for himself.
Those fifteen minutes of peace had been impossible to find. Every time he thought he finally had them, someone would return to the ship or comm him; and his free time would be tragically interrupted. On one time Tech had urgently asked for his help with some repairs; on another, Crosshair had found a reason to fight with a bunch of locals and –though Wrecker had assured him he had it under control– Hunter just had to intervene. On a third ocasion, Echo had asked his opinion on an alternative strategy for their next mission; and even Omega had been unusually affectionate lately, shadowing his every step as if she were afraid to get separated again.
His frustration only continued to grow when days kept passing by. It wasn't just because he wanted to; masturbating was more of a need, now. He felt tense and irritated, snapping at every minor thing. His headaches were only getting worse, nights without rest more common than not. It was only a matter of time before he bursted and said hurtful things; and he didn't want to hurt anyone.
Finally, luckily, his brothers seemed to catch on. It's Echo who suggests going out for a walk, and he manages to convince everyone with the promise of a pretty sunset on Pabu, pointing out that Hunter's migraines are only getting worse and he needs some silence and space to himself. They accept with various degrees of excitement; but they do, and they leave, and Hunter finds himself suddenly on his own.
He doesn't even bother to get fully naked; he doesn't have the patience. He sits on his bunk and tugs his pants down; already hard cock inmediately falling to rest on his stomach when freed. It's warm in the room, so he does take his shirt of and throws it carelessly somewhere on the floor. He doesn't waste any more time and sighs in relief, closing his hand around his cock. Privacy at least.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You hadn't met the boys until their fourth month on Pabu. Their arrival had been the talk of the island for quite some time; not only because rumours said they were a surprising set of clones, but because Pabu suddenly had five handsome elegible bachelors to pick from. Wrecker made you feel small and cute, his energy as radiant as the sun; Echo was the gentleman of any girl's dream. You'd never grow bored with Tech, he was an interesting person to chat with; and Crosshair was all quiet and mysterious, tempting you to find his secrets. Objectively, you could see all of this attributes in the Batch; you could understand the hype. Personally, though... Personally, Hunter had the 100% of your attention.
He was so handsome. Your eyes had inmediatelly locked onto his figure the first time you had had the chance to see him; this firm but kind soldier helping a blonde teenager –you later learned their sister was called Omega– practice what seemed to be defence moves in front of their ship. The second time you had seen Hunter had been one morning on the beach. You had woken up early to be able to swim through Pabu's clean waters without anyone else disturbing the sea's wildlife; diving goggles and swimming fins in hand. After a quiet relaxing swim in the sea, you had sat down in the sand for a bit; and your distracted gaze had followed Hunter's attractive figure in his morning run through the beach.
One thing you had learned about, was that Hunter was always aware of what was happening around him. Weeks later, he had explained to you it was part of his special set of abilities. His mutations. In that second meet up, you had been embarassedly shocked to be caught gawking at him; though it had quickly turned to a pleased shyness when fifteen minutes later Hunter had returned to the same spot to talk to you. He had first greeted you with a sexy little smile; asking to sit besides you if you didn't mind the smell of his built up sweat. He had made you feel comfortable and safe since that very first time; and all those that followed.
It's not that you have consciously started to date him or anything. Hell, you've never even kissed yet. It's just all casual meet ups that ends with the two of you having the best time together. You might be doing groceries and Hunter making his way to their apartment after their latest arrival; and so he will offer you to help with the bags, and you'll accept, and once everything is properly placed in your home, one of you would suggest having a walk together and catch up with your respectives lifes. It feels like a date, most of the times; but none are planned, adressed as such, and Hunter has so many suitors –and is so genuinely kind– you wonder if you're seing things that are not really there.
You've heard the Batch is back on Pabu after three whole weeks travelling the galaxy, though, and you had seen everyone but Hunter in the beach some minutes ago; you know it means he's staying back and resting in the Marauder. You want to see him, so –even though you don't really know if it's your place or not– you make your way down to their ship. You'll just say hi and leave him be.
The Marauder's ramp is still opened, so you jump up and enter the ship. The cockpit's empty; you guess Hunter's somewhere inside. You call him softly, not wanting to wake him up in case he's using the time to catch up on some sleep; but you receive no answer, so you continue walking through the corridor, innocently.
There's a low muttering coming from a room, so you redirect your steps there; and you come to a stop completely frozen in front of the opened door. H-Hunter... Hunter's lounging on one of the bunks, with the back of his head resting against the wall; eyes closed and face relaxed in upmost pleasure. Small words and what you now clearly identify as whimpers and moans escape his parted lips ocasionally; shirt abandoned to the floor and abdominal muscles twitching with each particular rush of pleasure, sweat dripping down his chest and shimmering on his tanned skin. His pants are just low enough so that he can have access at his cock; one hand firmly wrapped around it and stroking up and down while the other clenches on his thigh. And his cock... Fuck, it looks good, dripping precum and flushed almost red by now; Hunter must be reaching his end any minute now.
Hunter... Is a sin, and though your shock is big enough to erase any coherent word from your mind, you aren't made of stone; and your breathing pattern grows heavier with desire while your heart speeds up, and even lost in his own pleasure, Hunter hears that.
His eyes snap open, his face turning slightly to the left to take a glance at the door. Your eyes lock and Hunter gasps out loud, something that sounds like a mix of utter shock and pleasure yet; his hand reluctantly stopping and resting around the base of his cock. Hunter's wide eyes and redenning cheeks show his embarassment at being caught like this; but to your surprise, he doesn't run to pull his pants back up, or hide his raging boner. He just waits, perhaps deciding on what to say or do.
"Mesh'la..." he suddenly and almost hesitantly calls you by that nickname he had started to use for you a month back.
You don't know what it means, though when asking his brothers, Tech had pointed out it was in their language, Mando'a.
Hunter calling you reminds you that you're still staring; staring at Hunter and his half naked body, cock exposed, and invading a clearly very private moment you have no right to stand by.
"O-oh, I'm sorry, Hunter" you quickly blurt out, eyes flying down and focusing on a spot on the floor in front of your feet. "I just saw your family at the beach, thought I'd come and said hi, and then I heard a noise and... Uh... I didn't know... You were..."
You inevitably take a glance upwards, and to your shock, Hunter's cock twitches in his frozen hand and he lets out a small moan.
He doesn't look particularly bothered by your interruption. By the situation. It seems he's just more impatient to carry on, so maybe you should just turn around and leave and...
"Mesh'la... Touch me" he answers, voice deep sending tingles down your spine.
You can't help but stutter as you fix your eyes on his.
"S-s-sorry?" It's what comes out of your mouth, stunned.
You must have heard wrong. There's no chance he just asked that.
"Please" Hunter suddenly whines, words turning him into a bothered mess. "Please, mesh'la, been wanting to masturbate for so long, but it has been impossible here, and now that I finally had the space to do so I tried and I, I... I'm subsconsciously stressed they're going to come back and interrupt me any time now, and I can't also stop thinking about last mission and..."
You're still shocked looking at Hunter; though his words are starting to slowly sink in, and he reads it in your wide eyes. You're so close to him and...
"Please" he begs, quietly but desperately. "Please help me cum".
You need ten more seconds before you finally find the way to reboot your mind again and you're able to nod. Hunter whimpers in relief and inevitably strokes his cock up and down once; stopping afterwards and leaving both of his hands on ech respective thigh; widening them so you have plenty of space to comfortably work with him. You gulp your nervousness down and slowly approach him.
Hunter's dark gaze doesn't leave your eyes as you sink down on your knees between his legs impossibly slowly. Your eyes swipe down over his perfectly trained body, and his cock twitches again against his stomach. The sight makes you bite your lip in a mix of desire, nerves and shyness; and Hunter groans torturedly.
"Mesh'la..." he calls you again, needy, and you breathe in and glance up at his face before setting your resolve.
Your left hand caresses up Hunter's left thigh, thumb squeezing once on the dip between his pelvis and leg; while your right teases down Hunter's abs to finally close around his length. Hunter's impossibly hard. You start with your first movement up and down his cock; and Hunter moans.
"Y-yeah... Yeah, cyare, thank you, yes..." he stutters in half whimpers, half relieved moans, and you have to contain one of yours.
He looks so good like this, so needy, so lost. So desperate.
"You look hot as fuck, Hunter" you tell him, voice barely more than a whisper.
Hunter moans needily and his hips cant forward towards your hand.
"M-mesh'la... M-m sorry for springing this on you so suddenly, just... Just wanted to cum and... Wanted you for weeks too, mesh'la, so pretty, fuck..."
Okay. Okay. Breathe. Hunter's a talker during sex, the kind of person that just looses himself in it and talks his mind of, and that's perfectly fine. You aren't gonna pass out. You are going to cope with the fact that he's gonna ruin yourself for everyone else and help him out.
"It's okay, Hunter" you soothe him, right hand moving upwards and twisting gently towards the end, another tiny involuntary buckle of his hips following you. "Just breathe and relax. I got you, okay?"
Hunter sighs and slides lower on the bed, though still proped up. He closes his eyes momentarily before focusing on you again, then staring at your hand working him up.
It doesn't take too long for him to cum. He's obviously being holding himself back; and finally in a safe place, with you as an additional stimuli, his mind locks on the growing pleasure and his hard cock twitches when he reaches his orgasm. Part of it lands on his stomach; some stays on your hand, and the rest pools on his pelvic, dripping down to a slow. His chest moves up and down with his heavy breathing; his eyes closed shut and head tilted back, neck exposed, muscles showing. And his sounds are music to your ears; raspy, broken. Relieved.
When he opens his eyes again, and Hunter looks at you, he seems more like himself; like this desperate lost version has been pushed back again under the surface. You read shame and guiltiness mixed in his expresion; and smile to soothe him.
"Don't even bother with excuses" you chuckle, using his discarded shirt to clean your hand and passing it to him next. "You were enjoying your privacy and I surprised you, and neither of us did what we should have done, and here we are. We're just gonna move forward and you're gonna invite me to a date".
Hunter gives you a tiny happy smile. It quickly turns onto a smirk.
"Okay. Tomorrow afternoon, then. I'll be sure to take care of everything this time".
You know what that means, and you smirk too, though flushing slightly. Yes, please.
THE END.

Softness Suits You (Tech x GN! Reader)
Tumblr media
Words: 2k Warnings: None - unless you count Kriff and Karabast as swearing. Note: Gender Neutral - Use of You and (Y/N) A part of the Bad Batch Gift Exchange @cloneficgiftexchange For: @theunderscorekinginyellow Prompt: "Softness Suits You"
“(Y/N),” called Tech, skidding to a halt as he rounded the corner. Blaster fire passed the corner mere seconds later. “Now is not the time to give up on me,” he commented, pulling you back to your feet. You’d slipped down the durasteel wall you’d been learning against with a sharp groan of pain, an arm tightly wound around your midsection, the other putting pressure on another unseen wound hidden beneath your armor and the layers of fabric.
“Wasn’t the time for the plan to go wrong either,” (Y/N) voiced, recalling how the mission had gone sideways quickly. “We went over the plan five times,” you grumbled, blowing out an agonized sigh as the stabbing pain grew in strength.
“I got the package, didn’t I?” responded Wrecker, the sound of blaster fire being exchanged echoing through the com.
“Anyone injured?” came Hunter’s smokey voice. Omega’s innocent one followed, celebrating after hitting another target with her energy bow. Echo soon confirmed he and Wrecker were slightly banged up, but nothing serious. Their main problem was being pinned down.
“(Y/N) got hit, unsure how serious it is,” announced Tech, seemingly ignoring your comment that you were okay. Even when it was evidently obvious you were anything but. You were losing blood, feeling dizzy and shaky, and could barely stand on your own two feet, and Tech had stated you looked paler than usual.
“Tech, get (Y/N) back to the Marauder,” demanded Echo, his voice severe and unyielding. The job for Sid meant little compared to the life of a friend.
“Omega will meet you there,” said Hunter. The young clone’s protests shortly followed his words. “That’s an order,” he added, slipping into a mix of his previous Sargent Mode and that of a protective father figure trying to protect their child and family. “The rest of us Plan 13.”
“Oh yeah,” exclaimed Wrecker, launching into the attack on droids and mercenaries alike. The human wrecking ball wasted little time running head-first into the battle again. His actions a reminder of his days as a soldier of the GAR, back when everything was simpler before the dark times began to strangle the galaxy.
“Oh brother,” mutters Echo before readying himself to rejoin the battle before him. Pushing aside the memories of the many food fights on Kamino before it was bombarded and forgotten about—memories of his brothers of the Domino Squad, 501st, and Bad Batch.
“Ready?” asked Tech, placing his D17s in the holsters for the time being, reaching for your arm to pull you back to your feet. Directing the arm around his neck as his own snaked around your midsection. Hearing the sharpness in your breath as you began to limp forward. The pilot soon pulled the yellow-tinted screen of his helmet down, scanning you over to get a clear idea of the damage and injuries sustained.
“What’s the prognosis, Doctor?” sarcastically asked (Y/N), your eyes glazing over as you become confused and disorientated. “Is it as bad as Crosshair’s friction burns from the Skako mission?” you asked with a light chuckle, wincing shortly after with the pain shooting through your ribs.
“I would argue that was worse,” answered Tech, recalling Crosshair grumbling for days afterward—even more so when Wrecker refused to let him forget about it. “However, this is a close second,” he said, trying to keep your spirits up and offer a distraction from your injuries and dire state.
“Damn. I was hoping to top him this time,” replied (Y/N), as if you had forgotten Crosshair wasn’t there. Instead, he had chosen to return to the Empire, even after they had bombarded Tipoca City with all of them inside. “Still working on that plan to get him back,” you add with the smallest of grins.
“Crosshair … chose a different path. We have to accept that, even if we don’t agree with it,” spoke Tech with a prang of sadness. Thankful when the Marauder came into view, Omega was already on the steps, waving at them with a small smile of her own. At least until it hit her, Tech was all but keeping you up now.
“What happened?” questioned Omega, quickly running back up the steps, moving to get the medical kit stowed away aboard the ship. At the same time, Tech pulled (Y/N) over to the sleeping racks upon getting you aboard. Nodding to Omega in thanks, when she brought the medical kit over to him, he reached for stem cells and bacta gel in hopes of aiding the healing process.
“We could use a lift,” came the booming voice of Echo, the coms lighting up with the disagreement between the Arc Trooper, Hunter, and Wrecker.
“That with or without Omega hanging from the ship and me falling out or over something?” asked (Y/N), doing your best to lighten the dreary mood and keep Omega from seeing just how bad things were. You had a soft spot for the kid and the boys.
“It was an unscheduled study break,” Tech voiced in response. At least explaining Omega hanging from the ship. A smirk appeared across his lips upon remembering the two separate incidences regarding (Y/N) falling over something and falling from the ship completely. “And momentarily lapse in coordination.”
“Just patching (Y/N) up, then we’ll be there,” announced Omega, keeping the trio of Hunter, Echo, and Wrecker in the loop.
“This is going to hurt,” stated Tech, receiving a (Y/N) famous deadpan look in response. At least informing him, he was pointing out the obvious again, without calling the exceptionally minded clone by the normal nickname. Captain Obvious.
“You mean more than it already does?” You asked, the next part of your comment forgotten as the bacta gel burned like someone had poured the lavas of Mustafar into your open wounds. “Kriff!”
“Language” worded Wrecker via the comm link.
“Aurebesh,” you replied, much to Omega’s amusement. Tech could only shake his head and roll his golden eyes.
“Switch out the words, (Y/N),” spoke Hunter, once again the familiar sound of blaster fire following his words, hinting at the trouble the trio was in now.
“Yes, Papa Hunter. Next time, I’ll use Karabast,” quickly shot (Y/N), not noticing Tech had stepped close with an anesthetic, at least not until he caught you with it.
“Rest for now (Y/N). Omega and I can handle the extraction,” announced Tech. He made sure you were lying comfortably on his rack before heading to the cockpit with Omega. The young clone gave Gonky his own mission to watch over you while you slept.
When (Y/N) finally woke up, the Marauder was on stable ground, and the ship was quiet—too quiet. The only noise was Gonky waddling the length of the ship with the normal “Gonk” on repeat, although the droid did seem to be pestering Tech, who sat at the communications desk just in front of the sleeping racks.
“Where’s the others?” you asked with a cracked and broken voice. Your throat was dry and scratchy from the lack of use. Slowly, you moved your head to look around the ship. The cockpit was empty, void of Echo and Wrecker. The rear gunner's port had no Omega resting there, although Lula and her little clone trooper were. Hunter was nowhere to be seen either. Only Tech and Gonky were there.
“Wrecker and Omega are following through with their tradition,” Tech replied, standing and walking over, an unreadable expression painted on his features. The moment he reached you, he placed a soft hand on your forehead, relief washing over him minutes later. "Hunter and Echo are delivering the package to Sid.”
“How long was I out?” you asked. Then it hit you: You were no longer on Eadu but instead back on Ord Monell.
“Just over a day,” started Tech, helping you sit up. “I’d appreciate it if we didn’t repeat what happened,” he added, pushing his goggles back up the bridge of his nose.
“I’m not gonna let you get shot, Tech, and I did tell you to leave me,” argued (Y/N), feeling relief now the majority of your pain was gone, either nulled by the anesthetic or washed away by the bacta healing the wounds.
“We don’t leave our own behind,” stated Tech, a matter of factly, with a pointer finger raised, as if to drill it into your head and make it stick. “The others are fine as well. Wrecker still thinks the scans are invisible spiders,” he added, allowing his stiffness to melt a little upon hearing your small ring of laughter.
“Hunter and Echo still the parents?” (Y/N) asked, side-eyeing and suspicious, just in case something had changed while you were out for the count.
“Careful (Y/N), your softer side is showing,” joked Tech. “Either that, or you hit your head harder than I thought.”
“Or I’m high as a kite and hallucinating,” you commented.
“Not lost your sense of humor, " Echo said upon boarding the ship. A scratch now donning his cheek below the left eye. However, the worry plaguing him now seemed to melt away.
“Mustafar would freeze over before that happened,” (Y/N) replied with a small smile, “Or Hoth would warm up.” You quietened for a few minutes before it hit you: Tech had said your soft side was showing. Didn’t it always when you were around your found family? “Wait, what you mean my softer side is showing?” you questioned, hearing Echo chuckle as he held his hands up in surrender before walking off to the cockpit.
“I don’t mean to offend you,” started Tech, suddenly uncomfortable, even more so when his hopes of you missing his words were dashed. “Normally, when out in the field or around Sid, you appear like Crosshair, stoic, cold, and armed with snide comments for enemies and sarcastic ones to lighten the mood,” he rambled, hoping to explain away what he now saw as a blunder.
“Tech,” you softly call, a sweet grin appearing now as you made it apparent you weren’t offended by the comment, merely curious.
“I thought it was obvious. Softness suits you,” directed Tech,
“Will you two make it official already?” voiced Wrecker as he and Omega returned to the ship. Hunter followed along behind, slightly confused by the comment but smirking nonetheless.
“Way to ruin the mood, Wrecker,” (Y/N) replied. “I’m recruiting Omega to help terrorize you the next time you go speed dating.”
“That was one time.”
“Wrecker went speeding dating?” questioned Echo
“Yup, It’s right up there with Hunter and Crosshair waking up handcuffed in a fountain,” you reply, hearing Omega laughing,
“I hate your memory right now,” commented Hunter, his cheeks redding as he sat down at his normal spot.
“Please do tell me more,” commented Echo, knowing he and Fives got up to some crazy things, along with Kix, Hardcase, and Jesse, things he often got a chuckle out of when he allowed himself to remember them. However, he wanted to know more about what the rest of the batch got up to during the war.
“No! I’m gonna die of embarrassment,” replied Wrecker, recalling the speeding dating disaster. Their first shore leave after joining the war effort. (Y/N) as their Jedi had told them to have fun, not expecting to get a call from Fox informing you, your squad was spending the night in detention.
“Wasn’t that bad” replied Tech, trying to soothe the situation. Although he’d admit you laughing from behind him wasn’t helping.
“I want to hear about it,” Omega called, her sweet, innocent voice seemingly breaking through. Hunter and Wrecker shared a glance, knowing (Y/N) couldn’t deny the young clone anything, although, thankfully, you told the stories in a child-friendly way.
“Was that the one I have no memory of?” asked Tech, recalling they’d gotten up to a lot of mischief. He’d personally set off a few security breaches from hacking sensitive information. Wrecker had set so many alarms off with his explosives that the Coruscant Guard had come to expect it and, at points, used it as a training exercise. Hunter and Crosshair found themselves in contests with different goals. Meanwhile, (Y/N) collectively named everything the Lame Game.
“Yup,” replied (Y/N), popping the p. “Never did find out how you ended up black-out drunk under the booth table. Or why you were wearing Wolffe’s helmet?” You laughed.
“Tech’s right; Softness does suit you,” replied Hunter, the smallest of grins appearing across his lips as he got comfortable, ready to relive the embarrassing moments of the past. “You’re still the best storyteller, though.”

𝗨𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
1,178 words!!
I don’t think imma continue this even though I had more ideas in mind. I almost forgot I even had work this morning 😞
Tumblr media
THE Gojo clan was expecting a rightful heir and not to mention a powerful one at that. Mostly a male. But..how the hell did they end up with one Limitless and Six-Eyes user but..two?? The higher ups were happy one of them was a boy but why did the older one have to be a girl at the very most? When you were born they could feel the overwhelming amount of cursed energy developing but due to you not being entirely what they wanted your very own clan decided to hide you away. They were confused at most as well too since you had golden like eyes although you still possessed the most rare techniques.
On the second try they got Satoru but came to the conclusion that since they had him they could forget about you, just not entirely. The higher ups had came to the realization that if anything were to happen to second born son they could easily wait until your of age and marry you off. In hopes that your cursed energy is enoug to make another powerful sorcerer that is.
You were around 6 years old cooped up in a room, you had a window to look out of course and the servants would only come around whenever you needed something or your basic average needs everyday. Unlike you Satoru required high maintenance but that didn’t mean they had a watchful eye on the young boy all the time. It was a average Friday afternoon and you were taking a walk throught the halls out to the garden with your book. The old geezers had only made it so a teacher for your cursed teqchniues came around twice a month with obviously wasn’t helping so you practiced on your free time. You sat down next to a tree in the shade and started reading. You had brought the sweets with you that the maids would give to you sometimes. That was until you were brought out your trance when eyes just as bright as yours had been staring right back at you, except they were blue. White hair as pure as snow, just like yours swaying in the wind as if it was teasing you yet so gracefully.
The child was looking at you with curiosity at most and that’s when he started to approach you. Your bond with Satoru started there. Whenever he was supposed to go somewhere, he would bring his lovely sister with him clinging onto her like you were his only salvation, his lifeline, and his only hope. He knew you didn’t like to talk as much, so whenever he had wanted something he would squeeze your hand and look up at you in the corner of your eye. This didn’t go unnoticed by the clan, the fact they had tried to separate you both at first failed miserably.
Satoru absolutely loves it when you stroke his head gently, he falls right asleep! Finally accepting the fact that you and your younger brother had been attached by the hip your elders decided to send you both to the same school. The first year you were sent there alone and Gojo couldn’t bear it, that was until the time had finally came for his first year there of course.
When Yaga heard there was another Gojo coming to school..he didn’t expect the whole embodiment of “welcome to hell BITCH”. What didn’t help any better was that Satoru only listened to you and you alone. He became more talkative and Geto was probably fed up with his antics to the point he had begged you to come take him. It’s your fault that he’s so spoiled when it comes to affection and everyone knows it.
“Y/N you have to stop spoiling him! Just look at it” insert the “it” in question staring at you with innocent eyes as if he didn’t just obliterate a curse for trying to touch you, then proceeding to ask for praise.
It’s also your fault he has a absolutely horrendous sweet tooth. Shoko simply stares as you feed him sweets bare handed. He dotes on you too much due to all of this. When Geto died he had distanced himself from everyone a bit but ended up caving in at the very sight of you at his door. Asking to come in as he layed his head in your lap, stroking his hair just the way he loves it while he shows a side to you nobody else in the world would get the chance to see, a side of him that someone would have to die just to see. He was vunerable, not like the Satoru you knew ot be annoying, fun, and a major egoist at heart.
After taking in megumi and Tsumiki the family grew a bit more. Anyone could notice that Gojo was like that annoying older brother that wouldn’t shut the hell up about embarrassing you to save his life. Whenever megumi would come back home from school and had bruises you would be the one to tend to them with the most caring mother like nature ever.
Gojo got jealous
On missions it’s like 2 of the most dangerous nuclear bombs set off in one place. You both might be the reason that curses have this little rebellion called “down with the Gojo’s!!” and have this sense when either of you are near that says “uh oh I’m in danger!”
When it was finally time to try and marry you off to some man like cattle Satoru said “fuck no” and threatened to wipe the higher ups from the face of this Earth, so much for “balance in this society” Due to this they couldn’t even think about doing anything to you.
You and Satoru are quite the lookers so it’s only natural that people would try to shoot their shot of admire you from a distance. Imagine both of you in matching outfits with those stupid round glasses that your brother wears almost anytime going out in public looking like absolute twin towers. Models are jealous, but suck it up and accept the gojo’s are better. Even thought you both have unlimited suitors neither of you would allow them to lay a hand on the other. Like the whole clan is looking at you both like “these demons aren’t the same children we raised..?”
Fight me but it’s canon you both share that menacing eyes closed smile that you could tell is fake to the very SOUL. It takes a idiot to not figure out that they are in trouble when you give that smile off.
His students ADORE you. Sometimes you catch the second years accidentally calling you “mom” and you’re just like “yes sweety?”. Make up your mind buddy are you the mom or the sister.
Other than that I think it’s safe to say even fi you are the elder and more mature one world domination is not completely out of your reach and if if you really wanted, you could bribe Satoru into doing it.

After Reading your stories again, damn, I missed them, they were so good and fun :D
So I've got this head canon that Echo wears his headset to improve his hearing (which got bad after getting blown up).
So what about it got damaged and tech needs some time to repair it. In the meanwhile the reader tries to help him get along with his impaired hearing. (And maybe they found out something about their feelings in the process ;)
I just love your one shots and Echo is just my favorite ^^°
And as always, just have fun and don't feel pushed to do anything which you don't like to.
Aloha my dear!
So nice to still have you around! I'm glad you are still enjoying my stuff 😊
And again, sorry for the long wait! Let me see what I can do for you...

"Do you really have to do this now?" asks Echo critically, frowning unwillingly as Tech sets about taking the headset off him. He feels uncomfortable, his eyes wandering to the clock again and again. He's excited enough as it is, it won't be long until your second date, and he wants to be on time, especially he doesn't want you to notice any more of his problems. It's enough that you know about his legs and his arm, he doesn't really want to reveal his hearing loss to you right away. Not yet. He wants to wait for the right moment, but when is the right moment for that anyway? Tech says matter-of-factly as always, "You want the problems fixed as soon as possible, don't you? It won't take long." Echo sighs somberly. "Yeah, I do, but I'm about to meet her". "Oh? A second date?" asks Tech, surprised. Echo says grumpily, "Don't act surprised, she simply likes me". Tech shrugs and says nonchalantly, "Our squad rarely has prospects of a romantic nature, by that I mean all of us, not just you" Echo laughs softly and says, "She's only dating me though, and I'm certainly not going to share that girl with you" "If you did, that would be weird too" Tech notes dryly.
He loosens the last screws and takes off the headset. Echo blinks a few times, hearing a low hiss he always hears when he's not wearing the headset. "This feels like shit," he grumbles, only partially able to hear his own voice as he does so. He feels Tech tap him on the shoulder and follows his finger pointing, in your direction. You've arrived earlier than scheduled. He sees your smile and can't help it, he has to smile too. "Hi," Echo says softly, almost timidly, and raises his hand in greeting, a gesture you return. But then you say something to him and all he can hear are muffled, distorted sounds that barely penetrate through the constant static noise. Echo raises both hands toward his ears, shakes his head and shrugs helplessly. "I can barely hear anything," he says louder than usual, and it feels very strange to barely hear his own voice as well. You look from one to the other for a moment, but then you smile in understanding and nod. You exchange a few words with Tech, but he can't understand what you're saying. A moment later, you gently grab Echo's hand and pull him with you. Over his shoulder, he calls out to Tech, "Hurry up with that thing, please."
Tech makes a shooing hand gesture to signify for him to go with you. Outside the Marauder, you walk just a few steps, to a bench beyond the landing area under a tree with a sweeping, low-hanging canopy in full bloom. It's a nice spot, and for the moment you're alone. You feel Echo looking around frantically as you walk, hearing phantom noises and expecting to run into someone or get hit by a speeder. You squeeze his hand encouragingly, gently tugging on it so that he closes in on you. You place your other hand on his forearm and smile at Echo. You can't use words, but Echo sees in your expression that you want to tell him you have everything under control, he doesn't have to worry. He's a little wobbly on his feet, every time he walks without his hearing aid his sense of balance suffers a little, but you gently and safely guide him to the bench beneath the flowering tree. His hearing has deteriorated over time after the Citadel, the damaged eardrums simply not recovering, Tech's guess is that this is also due to some nerve damage. Occasionally, however, the headset needs to be serviced and Echo is actually glad that Tech is taking care of this.
You sit down together on the bench, in the shade of the low-hanging branches. You hear him sigh in relief. Echo trusts you, yet he is glad to be able to sit down and not have to rely on his hearing or sense of balance for a moment. He looks at you, and you sense that something is on his mind. When he speaks, he is again much louder than you are used to, but you don't mind. "Didn't think you'd agree to a second date." You laugh softly, and he smiles when he sees it. Then you raise your hand, showing him first one finger, then a second, a third and so on. Showing him the whole again and again with a big smile. "You want more dates?" he asks, surprised. At your nod, he asks with a wry smile, "What do you want with damaged goods like me, anyway?" You pull a pout and shake your head, wagging your finger reproachfully, before smiling and kissing his cheek. When you look at him again, his cheeks have a little more color than usual. He laughs softly and says, "I like you a lot, too."
Your radiant smile makes his heart beat faster, and he has to take a deep breath to collect himself. This feeling that you trigger in him is quite new for him, but yet he already doesn't want to miss it. The fast pulse, the fluttering in his stomach, the tingling under his skin and this constant urge to smile. He's so excited with you and at the same time more relaxed than ever. "You're very special," he says a little breathlessly. You emphatically place your hand on his chest. "Me too?" he asks with a grin. At your energetic nod, he laughs softly again. You hear Tech say, "Finished with the headset. Am I interrupting?" and turn to face him. "No, you're not interrupting." Echo sees his brother with the headset and sighs in relief. You give them both some space and Tech puts the headset back on Echo. When he's done with it, Tech asks, "So, how does it feel? Can you hear me?" Echo gives him a thumbs up and says, "Fine, Tech, thank you very much" "You're welcome anytime." As Tech leaves you alone again, Echo looks at you, he grins and says, "Now let me hear your wonderful voice" You laugh softly and say, "It's not that wonderful"
Echo beams at you in love and says, "Oh yes, for me, it is". The way he looks at you is so wonderfully dreamy, makes your heart beat faster. "So you said last time you wanted to show me something?" you ask curiously. Echo smirks and says, "Hunter let me have the secondary shuttle for the day." You laugh softly and ask, "Are you trying to kidnap me?" "Something like that, of course, only if that's what you want." "As long as we don't go to Tatooine," you say with a little giggle. Echo laughs heartily. "No, don't worry about it. But have you ever seen a sunset in the lake scenery on Naboo?"

Crosshair-dresser
Words count: 1.8k
Warnings: some angst I guess, fluff
To say Hunter was concerned was an understatement.
He hated it.
He hated watching his little brother sit in the house or on the porch all day without saying a single word. He knew Crosshair was still getting used to it, to being comfortable and safe somewhere, really, he did. But Hunter couldn't stop worrying about the things that could be going on in his brother's head.
It had been a few weeks since they had rescued Cross, Omega, and Tech from the hands of the Imperial scientists. He knew both Tech and Omega couldn't sleep well from the nightmares. The young girl often ended up sneaking into one of their beds during the night and clinging to them like her life depended on it.
None of them minded, of course. They all loved their little sister and would do anything to ensure she was okay. It still concerned them to a great amount.
Tech—who hadn't slept much before—definitely wasn't getting sleep now. Hunter knew he spent most of the night tinkering on odd projects or doing research on Maker-knows what. Hunter had to call Phee over several times to convince Tech to go to sleep.
Though these were both concerning, what most worried Hunter was Crosshair. He didn't seem to have any sort of mental or emotional reaction to it. Sure, he struggled with eating and moving around too much, but that was more physical. They all tried to get him to talk but he never did. A few times, they tried to get Crosshair to see a therapist, but he turned down the idea straight away and avoided everyone if they tried to take him anyway.
The sniper stayed in the house mostly, cooped up in his room like a hermit. The only time he went outside was if Omega dragged him along somewhere or if his brothers forced him to go to the doctors. He did like having occasional night walks outside. No one was ever out that late, it was peaceful. No one to bother him or fuss over him.
Crosshair huffed as he and Hunter walked inside their home. They had just gotten back from his weekly checkups. He hadn't spoken one word on the walk to the house, preferring to just not talking about it.
His 'physical therapist' had suggested he do something familiar, get back into routines. He knew Hunter was going to suggest sniping again. After all, that's who Crosshair was; a sniper. However, he no longer had his beloved rifle. His strength had deteriorated, he had actually attempted to shoot a target several times, each time missing horribly due to his lack of muscle.
So he remained quiet, choosing to avoid the subject and just get home to his room, where he could shut everyone out.
As he walked down the hall towards his cave, he heard sniffling coming from a certain blonde's room. Stopping dead in his tracks, Crosshair knocked on Omega's door softly, not waiting for an answer as he opened it and moved inside.
Over their time in Mount Tantiss, Crosshair and Omega had grown closer. He truly considered her his sister, and—he would never admit it—but he loved her dearly. He knew she struggled with the memories of that awful place, he did too, and it only troubled him more to hear the usually happy girl crying.
"What's the matter, kid?" He asked softly, noting Wrecker sitting beside the crying girl on her bed.
"Went to get her a haircut and she freaked out." The large clone explained, sighing softly as he looked up at Crosshair.
"A barber? With scissors and other equipment?" Crosshair asked, brow raising. He slowly moved closer to the two, looking down at Omega who was curled up under her multicolored blankets.
"I...I didn't think it would remind her of it." Wrecker mumbled, looking down as he realized he had unintentionally brought up some bad memories for his sister.
Crosshair sighed softly, nodding to Wrecker. "Go. I got it." He said, giving his brother a ghost of a smile.
Wrecker looked at Crosshair for a few moments before letting out a breath and standing up. He nodded to Crosshair before moving out of Omega's room, closing the door behind him.
Crosshair watched him wordlessly, sitting down beside Omega once they were alone. "Scared you, didn't it?" He asked quietly, putting a hand on where he guessed her shoulder was.
Omega nodded slightly, still sniffling under the blankets. Crosshair sighed, looking down at the girl's figure. "You're not back there, 'Meg. You're safe. We're safe."
Omega slowly peaked her head out from the blankets, puffy eyes looking up at the marksman. "I know." She mumbled, leaning into Crosshair's touch when his hand came up to gently wipe at her eyes. "S-still scared me."
Crosshair nodded, eyes soft as he looked at Omega. "I get it." He said, nodding softly. "Don't like people touching me with tools either. Even barbers."
Omega nodded softly, sniffling as she moved to lean into Crosshair's side. The sniper slowly wrapped an arm around her, humming softly. "I know what could cheer you up." He said, knowing Omega wouldn't want to talk further.
"What?" Omega asked, brows furrowed slightly as her head tipped back to look up at him. Crosshair smiled a little as he looked at her, showing her his free hand. "The black polish is coming off. Think I need a touch-up."
Omega looked down at his hand, grabbing his fingers carefully and examining them, ignoring how he had been picking at his skin again.
"I ran out of black, so only pink and purple are left." She said, frowning softly.
Crosshair chuckled softly, letting her take his hand. "Pink and purple are fine."
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
Crosshair and Omega sat on the floor of her room, paper-towels, nail polish remover bottles, and nail polish scattered around them. Crosshair sat crisscrossed as he leaned against her bed, watching Omega with a small smile as she painted his nails. She was currently working on his right hand, his left propped up so it got the flow of air from the mini fan Omega had.
She had also gotten a bowl full of candy, eating some pieces every few minutes before returning to the task at hand.
Crosshair watched on patiently, commenting occasionally on the color or whether or not she should add another coat. He had noticed her hidden annoyance though; scratching at her hair frequently, huffing every time she hand to brush hair away from her face. He understood why Wrecker had attempted to get her a haircut. Her hair certainly had grown, reaching nearly past her shoulders.
An idea popped in his head at that, Crosshair tilting his head. He could trim her hair. He knew how to, of course. His brothers always had him trim their hair since he could do it extremely well. Omega trusted him too so there was a less likely chance she'd freak out.
"'Meg?"
Omega hummed softly in response, not looking up from Crosshair's nails as she applied polish.
"I can do your hair."
Hunter paced back in forth in the living room, running his hands through his hair. Crosshair and Omega had been in there for a while. He didn't hear any crying, but at the same time, that's not always a good thing.
"Cross said he could handle it." Wrecker mumbled, watching Hunter from where he sat on the couch.
"I know, Wrecker. I'm just worried. He seemed off today." Hunter said, letting out a sigh.
"He's always weird after the doctor." Wrecker said, shrugging softly. Hunter shook his head, running his hand over his face with a tired groan.
"Hunter, come look at this..." Echo called softly from the hall, peeking into Omega's room.
Hunter's brows furrowed, the sergeant moving over towards the girl's room. He looked inside hesitantly, his expression softening at the sight.
Omega was seated in front of the small vanity, a bright and curious smile back on her face. Crosshair sat behind her, a pair of bright pink scissors in one hand as he snipped at the girl's hair, a content smile on his face as he spoke. "-ou want it braided after? I can probably figure something out."
Omega hummed softly in response, not wanting to nod in case she messed him up. She was nervous at first when he suggested cutting her hair, not aware that he was skilled in the matter. The scissors part scared her at first as well, however she knew it was her brother and she could trust him not to harm her.
"You can braid?" She asked curiously, watching his movements in the mirror.
Crosshair nodded slightly, his tongue sticking out a little as he concentrated on cutting her hair evenly. "Yeah. Hunter seen it once so I had Tech search up how to." He replied, lightly brushing his fingers through her hair. "I know several braids."
"That's really cool!" Omega smiled brightly, leaning into his touch. "Can you do whichever one is the prettiest?" She asked, smiling more when Crosshair nodded.
Hunter allowed Crosshair to finish at least cutting her hair, not wanting to mess him up or distract him. He stood behind Crosshair as he watched him braiding Omega's hair, noticing the smile on the sniper's face. All previous worried about these two had disappeared, the sergeant relaxing slightly at the sight of his siblings happy. "Still got it, I see."
Crosshair glanced up to meet Hunter's eyes in the mirror for a quick moment before focusing back on his sister's hair. He nodded slightly, letting out a hum.
"You have time for another client?" Hunter asked, chuckling softly. He knew his hair was getting longer, he'd need to get a trim soon anyways.
"Sure, 100 credits." Crosshair quipped, smirking softly.
Hunter chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "Never had to pay before." He pointed out, smiling softly as he noticed his brother's attitude shining through.
"Hm, fine. More toothpicks then." Crosshair bargained, tapping Omega's shoulder lightly. The girl handed him a hair tie, her smile brightened as she realized she would see his work.
"Deal." Hunter said, watching Crosshair tie off the braid and gently move it over Omega's shoulder.
"One more condition though."
Hunter raised his brow, noticing the way Crosshair sent a smirk to Omega through the mirror. "Go on..."
Crosshair hummed softly, unwrapping the towel from around Omega's shoulders so she could get up. "You get a trim and a manicure." He said, holding out his painted nails towards the sergeant.
Hunter sent a light glare to Crosshair, sighing softly. He noticed Omega's giddy laugh, the girl grabbing her nail polish already. "Fine. Nothing too bright though."
"All she's got is purple and pink." Crosshair chuckled, gesturing for Hunter to sit down on the tiny chair. "Hot pink."
Hunter grimaced lightly, holding his hands out towards Omega as she sat on the floor beside him. "Great."

Boys Will Be Boys | Hunter or Crosshair from The Bad Batch
Summary: In which the team's medic always finds herself patching up Hunter and Crosshair after one of their 'disagreements.'
Warning: language, mentions of rough fighting and severe injuries (inflicted by one another), bruised bones and knife wound, mention of stitches and needles, slight blood, and quarreling brothers
Pairing: Hunter x Fem!Reader Medic or Crosshair x Fem!Reader Medic
Type: Oneshot
Word Count: 2.8k
Note: Fully inspired by Echo's line of dialogue shown below
Tumblr media
For the first time in a long time, the Marauder was nearly empty and entirely quiet. The only sound that could be heard was the soft humming coming from the team's medic who'd chosen to stay behind on one of the missions. You made sure to keep yourself busy, opting to organize a few bins of medical supplies on the nearby shelf.
The peace and quiet had suddenly broken when the familiar sound of Wrecker's booming voice called from the outside of the ship. You didn't really think anything of it at first because Wrecker naturally had a loud voice. But what you didn't realize was that he was calling for you.
The chaotic mess that accompanied them began to trail into the entrance of the ship. Their loud footsteps and intermixing voices filled the space, calling for you once again. And this time, you heard them more clearly.
Rounding the corner of the cockpit, your gaze immediately fell on the horrific sight in front of you. You gasped a little louder than anticipated, hands flying up to cover your mouth.
Currently, Wrecker had one of his bulky arms underneath Hunter's arm to support his weight and help him into the ship. The sergeant was barely able to stand on his own two feet and was clutching the side of his abdomen, wincing at each movement due to the severe pain. His bottom lip was also cut and bleeding slightly.
Behind them, Tech was doing the exact same thing only with Crosshair beside him. Now Crosshair didn't look any better. He walked with a limp and he had a black eye on the right side of his face which was only growing deeper in color with each passing second.
Both Wrecker and Tech were careful to escort the other two into the cockpit. They helped them onto the medical table, double checking to make sure they were settled before beginning to help them strip away the parts of their armor. They meticulously took off each piece with great care so that they wouldn't cause further pain.
Once they were finished putting the spare armor pieces to the side, Wrecker and Tech went to step away and silently joined Echo in the background. The two of them sat in only their blacks. You hurried to stand in front of them, taking a brief second to take in what was in front of you.
"W--What the hell happened to you two?" You demanded an explanation because you had honestly never seen them in a worse state. The two of them kept their eyes closed as they continued to writhe in pain.
"Nothing," Hunter grunted out while still clutching his side. He keened forward in his place in hopes of easing his discomfort.
"We knew what we were doing," Crosshair added. He was panting slightly as if trying to catch his breath. You glanced between the two of them with furrowed eyebrows.
"What's that supposed to mean?" You wondered. You were curious if they were keeping something from you as their vague answers did not satisfy you.
"Ask him," Crosshair hissed. He seemed to glare at his older brother through the corner of his eyes.
"Can we not talk about this right now?" Hunter pleaded. The pain was becoming almost too unbearable for him. He withdrew his hand from his side only to show that his hand was caked in his own blood.
"I'm not doing anything until one of you tells me what the hell happened," you reminded them. Waiting for an answer, you crossed your arms over your chest and glanced between the two of them. Neither of them wanted to look directly at you.
Hesitantly, Hunter lifted his head and looked at his brother sitting right beside him. He breathed steadily to himself to maintain his composure. He desperately needed some medical assistance, but he knew how stubborn you were. So he needed to come up with something.
"M-Mercenaries," Hunter spoke through gritted teeth.
"Mercenaries? Really? " You repeated with a cocked eyebrow. He nodded his head. "You need to work on your lying skills."
"I'm telling the truth," Hunter reassured her. He made a point to hold your gaze, but you still didn't believe him.
"Tech?" You called from over your shoulder without looking away.
"They were otherwise occupied in one of their fights," Tech replied without hesitation and without looking up from his data pad.
"Again?!?" You spoke with such shock that it caused both of them to wince at your words.
"Look," Hunter began. "We didn't really mean to take it as far as we did--"
"Bullshit," you interrupted him. You gestured to his side that he still clutched to help with the bleeding. "He stabbed you for crying out loud!"
"He was really asking for it," Crosshair commented. His eyes still flashed with anger. "And he started it anyways."
"I don't want to hear it," your voice rose a little louder to speak over him. You raised a hand to stop them. "This is the fourth fight you've gotten into this month. And I am here wasting precious materials to fix and bandage you both up each time. It's getting ridiculous!"
"We're sorry," Hunter spoke timidly.
"Don't tell me you're sorry. Tell each other you are sorry."
Neither of them were willing to do this which just proved how narrow-minded and stubborn headed they were towards each other.
Quickly turning away from them, you hurried towards the neatly organized shelf of medical supplies. You reached for various materials, stuffing what you could carry into the contents of your arms. Returning to the medical bench, you laid out the tools to view and inspect clearly.
Using your own data pad, you quickly took a thorough scan of the both of them to survey the extent of their injuries. While Hunter had sustained a knife wound to the left side of his abdomen, it had thankfully not pieced anything important. His knuckles were incredibly brushed and bloody. His lip was cut roughly. He'd definitely feel sore in the morning from taking such a harsh beating.
On the other hand, Crosshair managed to sprain his ankle during his tumble with his brother. He had two bruised ribs which he was lucky they didn't break. And he sported a nasty black eye right over his tattoo.
You quickly assessed that you'd need to help the sergeant first given that he had a knife wound and was still bleeding slightly. You handed the sniper an ice pack for his eye to temporarily ease the pain before you directed all of your attention to the other brother. You gingerly stepped forward to stand between his legs, reaching forward to grasp the edge of his top.
You made sure to help him out of the top of his blacks carefully, being extra mindful of the wound on his left side. He winced slightly as the material bunched around his shoulder. With great discomfort, Hunter managed to raise his arm in order to slide and remove the rest of his top from his arms. He discarded the piece of material onto the floor without a care in the world.
Now Hunter was sitting shirtless on the medical bench. His hand returned to the spot on the side of his abdomen, which was caked in his dried blood and still oozing with fresh blood under his fingertips. Taking the bottle of alcohol disinfectant, you doused a cloth in the clear liquid. You needed to clean the wound before you'd be able to stitch it up.
"This might sting a little," you spoke honestly.
With some hesitation, Hunter removed his hand from his side to allow you space to work. You carefully brought the wet cloth to his bleeding slide, pressing it into the gaping skin. As if on cue, Hunter practically lurched forward in his place. He gripped the edge of the table so tightly that his knuckles started to bleed again. His eyes squeezed shut to block out the pain.
"Sorry," you added because you hated seeing him in pain.
You went to wipe away some of the remaining blood around the wound and cleaned the skin thoroughly. Tossing the bloody cloth onto the table, you went to retrieve a needle and thread so you'd be able to sow it shut right afterwards. You threaded the string through the eye of the needle, leaning forward slightly to begin stitching his skin back together.
This wasn't the first time you'd given any of them stitches since they had many wounds inflicted to them over the years. However, this one could have easily been prevented if Hunter and Crosshair hadn't gotten into their little fight. You worked swiftly and steadily with the needle.
"What was it this time?" You asked out of pure curiosity and you could have sworn that the sergeant tensed under your touch. The two of them glanced at one another as if trying to secretly trying to relay something.
"Like he said: it was nothing." Crosshair spoke for the both of them. He drew his gaze away from his older brother. He recalled the conversation leading up to their fight, but it only made him angrier in the moment.
"Tech?" You repeated without looking away from your work.
"They were fighting over you this time," Tech replied without missing a beat. You raised your eyebrows in slight surprise at this confession, but your thoughts were quickly interrupted.
"Such a fucking tattletale," Crosshair scoffed. He sent his twin a deadly glare, but Tech didn't even seem to notice. He was too absorbed in the contents of his data pad. "He's always been like this," Crosshair said to his brother beside him.
"Yeah, I know. I was always there," Hunter grunted as the needle threaded through his tatted skin once again.
"At least I wasn't a biter as a cadet," Tech shot back. That was when he decided to lift his head so that he could look directly into his brother's narrowed eyes.
"You did bite a lot of people, Crosshair." Wrecker released a hefty laugh. He arms crossed over the length of his chest. He smiled at the fond memories of them as little cadets. "The regs especially."
"Just leave already," Crosshair growled at them.
Not wanting to anger him any longer, the other three members filed out of the cockpit and retreated back into their bunks for the night. They sealed the cockpit door behind them.
"Going back to this fight..." your voice seemed to betray you and trailed off into nothing. You glanced between the two of them as if searching for some kind of answer. "You were fighting over me?"
A quick tie of the thread and a cut with scissors meant your work was done for stitching. Neither of them seemed to say anything as you retrieved some more gauze from the side. You took one of the sergeant's big hands into your own, turning it over to begin wrapping his cut knuckles.
"Yeah," Hunter breathed steadily. He didn't even realize what he confessed to at first, but it was much too late now. "We were."
His eyes were transfixed on the way your fingers moved so delicately against his own. His breath had since caught in the back of his throat. He no longer felt the severe pain coursing through his side. You always managed to make him feel better and it wasn't just your medical skills that did the trick.
For the longest time, Hunter had been utterly fascinated by you. It went far beyond your medical knowledge and expertise in the field. You were known to be an honest and genuine person; someone who every member of his squad had grown to love and respect. You were a gentle-hearted soul which brought a newfound warm light to the otherwise hardcore company of brothers.
Slowly, Hunter watched the way you raised your head to look at him through your lashes. You had just finished wrapping his knuckles, gently laying them back down in his lap. He could feel your breath fanning against his face as you stood right between his legs. He briefly glanced down at your lips. And he wanted nothing more than to capture them in his own. But he knew better than to do something so careless.
You missed the quick glance he casted to your lips, but your eyes were fixed on his cut. You really couldn't do anything about the cut on his lip; it would heal in its own time. He silently thanked you with his gaze alone. And now your attention went to his younger brother sitting beside him.
"Why were you fighting over me?" You asked them with a hint of genuine concern behind your facial expression. You wondered if you'd be able to get a response out of the sniper now that all your attention was directed to him.
"We...we share...a common interest," Crosshair confessed honestly. He would have never said if the rest of his brothers were present, but there was just something about the way you looked up at him that made him cave.
Kneeling down onto the ground, you were able to hoist his bad leg onto your lap. You began to wrap his ankle carefully because you didn't want to cause him anymore pain than he was already in. You looped the stream of gauze around the backside of his ankle, bringing it back over the side and to the front. You briefly glanced up at him.
"In me?" You wanted clarification.
Both Hunter and Crosshair silently nodded their heads in response.
Avoiding their gaze, you went back to tying the knot on the wrapped ankle in your lap. You rose to your feet in a slow manner. You reached for the end of the sniper's top, carefully helping him remove it until he too was shirtless like his brother.
You had seen them shirtless countless times before and you always managed to remain medically professional. But there was something different about them now. This newfound revelation made you look at them in a slightly different light. The mere sight of their bare chests had your breath catching in the back of your throat. You knew if you weren't careful in regulating your breathing, Hunter was going to catch on sooner than later. Hell, he might have already caught on at this point.
You began to wrap a supportive brace around Crosshair's torso of bruised ribs, knowing that they'd need the extra support to help heal over the next couple days. You made sure not to make it too tight or too loose, watching for any discomfort behind his eyes. But you never saw any.
Now, having finished tending to their various injuries, you took a single step backwards and stood timidly in their presence. You still weren't able to look either of them in the eyes. When you realized how long you'd been silent and that they were waiting for some type of response from you, you tried to find the right words to express yourself.
"This is unexpected," you spoke softly. You just couldn't believe that two brothers had gotten into a quarrel over you. It went so far that one of them got stabbed this time around.
Had they fought over your before this? What were they fighting over specifically? Who else knew about this? And what else were they willing to do for you?
"You don't have to do anything with this information," Hunter wanted to reassure you. "And I hope this doesn't make things weird between us."
"It doesn't," you confessed with a small shake of the head. The corners of your lips twitched into a smile. "I'm certainly flattered...and honestly at a loss for words right now. I'm not really sure how to feel."
"You can have all the time in the world to think about how you feel," Hunter replied. He didn't have any expectations of where he wanted this to go for him, but he did want you to be comfortable around them. And you were going to need time to do that now that they had confessed to you.
"I'll...see you both around," you mentioned rather awkwardly.
Taking another step backwards to dismiss yourself from their presence, you wanted to get out of the cockpit before they could see the evident blush creeping onto your cheeks. You sent them a small wave and slipped out of the cockpit before they could say anything else to you.
Just as the door closed, Hunter and Crosshair seemed to breath a small sigh of relief. Their gazes were now directed to the solid steel floor underneath them, thinking about the confession and conversation that had just transpired.
"Well, that's out of the bag now." Crosshair spoke up first.
"Give her some time. I'm sure it's a lot for her to process. She'll come around," Hunter shrugged his shoulders.
"When she does come around, I hope you won't be too heartbroken with her choice." Crosshair taunted him. A sly smirk curved near the corner of his lip, knowing the mere power of his words and how they always managed to irritate his older brother. A deadly glare was sent his way in response.
Crosshair knew just the right thing to say to get under his brother's skin and if he wasn't careful, Hunter was bound to start another quarrel with him. But that's just something brothers do.

Warning: Total Bathroom Humor. Farts, stinky humor, suggestion of poop, swearing, middle finger, some nudity, someone does Lula dirty.
The Marauder was peacefully quiet as Hunter emerged from the refresher.  Tech had dimmed down the lights before chaperoning Wrecker and Crosshair out for an evening on the town.
This past week had been a daunting one for Hunter’s senses and he needed a respite from EVERYTHING.
Hunter tossed his towel away, standing buck naked, and stretched.  He’d sleep without the restrictiveness of clothing tonight.  The thought made him smile and exhale with a rumble of pleasure.
Leaning over the bunk, he pulled back the crisp immaculately made sheets.  Hunter inhaled expecting the scent of a clean bed...
...and nearly fainted!
A horrible miasma of stench assaulted his nose, almost suffocating him!
Hunter jumped back and yanked the refresher door open, flipping on the fan.  Then sprinted out of the bunk area, slamming the door shut to block the stink in.
What was supposed to be a comforting night turned out to be nothing close.  He was angry about the practical joke.  Crosshair knew better!  Hunter KNEW it was Crosshair...it has his scent all over it!
While pondering WHY Cross would do such a thing, Hunter strolled over to the pilot's chair and sat down.  His rear end contacted the Marauder’s cold rough upholstery.
“DANK FERRICK!”  Hunter forgot he was naked as a Noghri and shot back up from the seat.  Standing right in front of the windscreen.  His loud exclamation caught the attention of the Twi’lek who was inspecting their ship.  The ship parked 20 feet away from the Marauder.
The Twi’lek stared at Hunter with a shocked expression.  Hunter immediately covered his “goods” with both hands and grinned with embarrassment.  The Twi’lek smiled back, signed a thumbs up, winked, and boarded their ship.
“Did I just make a friend???”  Hunter was stymied.  This was ANYTHING BUT a relaxing night.
**********************
Hunter confronted Crosshair the next morning.
“WHY would you DO something like that!?”
“NO IDEA what you’re going on about Hunter,” Cross sneered.  “Heard you have an admirer.”
“Don’t change the subject.  I could...smell it was YOU!”
Crosshair just smiled at Hunter’s distress, then walked away.
“We aren’t done here!”  Why was Crosshair being so difficult and evasive?
“No... WE certainly aren’t.”  Cross flashed his gaze at Wrecker and Tech then exited the Marauder.
Hunter threw up his hands in frustration and walked away.
******************************
“WHY would you DO THAT TO LULA?!” Wrecker lamented.
“I think you know why.”  Cross didn’t even bother to look up from polishing his Firepuncher.
Wrecker just stood in shock, then growled “It’s personal now!”
He reeled back and smacked Cross upside the head with Lula, knocking the toothpick from his mouth.
Crosshair threw down his equipment and jumped up, both hands balled into fists.
Wrecker grabbed Cross from the front of his armor, lifting the skinny sniper over his head and began to shake his brother senselessly.
“KNOCK IT OFF!!!”
Both brothers stopped and gazed at Hunter who was now standing in the doorway.  Tech had heard the row and pulled Hunter from his conversation with the Twi’lek neighbor to break it up.
“Wrecker!  Put Crosshair down!!!”
“AWWW!  Can’t you smell what he DID to Lula???”
“Yes...cough...I certainly can.”
“Down.  NOW.”
“Grrrr...”  Wrecker opened his hand and Cross dropped on his ass upon the metal decking.
“He had it COMING!”  Crosshair shot back.
“Just what do you mean?”  Hunter inquired.
Cross opened his mouth to expound, then noticed Tech standing behind Hunter.  “Are...you RECORDING all of THIS?”
Hunter turned to look at Tech “REALLY???”
Cross was now pissed at a second brother today.  “You aren’t going to upload that to your asinine MUMBLER Holoaccount are YOU???”
“It’s STUMBLR” Tech proudly proclaimed adjusting his goggles.  “And I may be persuaded to as my ‘asinine followers’ will enjoy watching you get your comeuppance!”
“NERD!”
“Thank you.  This won’t be the first time I uploaded your detestable behavior on my Holonet Platform.  You currently have 1,892 ‘Frenemies’ on STUMBLR, Crosshair.”
Crosshair flipped off Tech.
Wrecker spoke up “Aye Tech, are you still recording?”
“Yes.  ALL the time.”
“GOOD!”  Wrecker resumed repeatedly whacking Crosshair across the head with Lula.
“I CAN’T with you guys...” Hunter sighed and walked off the ship to find the Twi’lek.
***********************
Things had died down after a few days.  Mostly because everyone kept to themselves and didn’t try to antagonize each other.  The sun set and each clone went off to their bunk...
...except for Tech who stayed up to maintenance the Marauder.  He sipped his caf then grabbed the power driver to unscrew an inner panel on the ship.  As he freed the first bolt, it dropped to the decking and almost narrowly escaped through the small gaps in the floor.  Tech caught the bolt with his shoe just in time.
Picking up the bolt he mused, I need to sequester you and your little friends in something secure.
He riffled through his toolbox, looking for something...
I know it’s here...put it back myself...  Tech didn’t remember moving ir... Ah, there you are. His hands closed around a small glass jar he had saved for a ‘just in case’ project.  He smiled widely as this was the perfect use for the receptacle he had squirreled away for so long.
Tech unscrewed the top of the jar and dropped the bolt in...
...as a horrible odor punched him SQUARE in the NOSE!
Tech gagged and dropped the jar.  It hit the decking and exploded loudly into a thousand little shards.  The bolt shot out and made its way to a hole in the decking.  Tech leapt forward attempting to catch the bolt before he lost it to the underside of the Marauder.  He slipped on a large piece of glass and went down on both hands...
...on top of more glass...
...to watch the bolt, disappear through the decking...
...Tech could hear it descend though the guts of the ship...TINK...TINK...TINK...
Then it was gone.
The ruckus woke Hunter.  “Tech...you ok?” In his sleepy groggy voice.
Tech pulled his hands up from the floor.  Luckily there were no injuries, but the glass shredded both gloves...HIS GOOD PAIR.  Tech struggled to keep his voice free of irritated sass.  “Yes.”
“Eh...you sure?”
“Quite.  Get some sleep Hunter.”
Tech heard Hunter mumble sleepily and turn over in his bunk.  Wrecker never stopped loudly snoring.  Crosshair however...Tech listened intently...Cross was TOO quiet.
Techs brows furrowed angrily and thought to himself YOU BASTARD!  Well...one good turn deserves another!!!  He stood, removed the glass embedded gloves, and vowed REVENGE on Crosshair’s head.
*********************
The morning sun peeped up over the horizon as Hunter rolled out of his bunk, more refreshed than he had been in quite a while.  He stretched, scratched his bum, and wandered out in his pj’s to grab some caf.
Tech had made a fresh pot, and apparently been up all night.  Didn’t strike Hunter as out of the ordinary.  Tech usually pulled all-nighters to work on his projects.
“Morning.” Hunter reached for the carafe.
Tech blocked him with a freshly poured mug of caf.  “Take this, Hunter.”
“Eh...ok...thanks.”  Hunter sniffed the mug then cocked his head and caught the scent of the coffee in the carafe.  There was a very slight difference in odor notes, which didn’t slip past Hunter at all.
Tech caught Hunter’s body language.  “This is the caf you prefer.  That...” Tech nodded his head towards the carafe “...is Crosshairs.”
“Yeeah, ok.”  Hunter shook his head, slid into a seat, and decided to just let it go.  He sipped his caf, eyes closed to revel in the warm richness of his brew.
Five minutes later Crosshair emerged from the refresher.  Showered and shaved, wearing only a crisp white towel around his waist.  He arrogantly strolled through the ship and made his way to the caf.  “Good morning.”
Hunter opened his eyes and noticed Tech intently watching Crosshair.
Cross grabbed a large mug and filled it to the brim.  He took a hefty gulp and sighed.  “Oh look...Hunter, your friend is out and about.”
Crosshair straightened up, puffed out his chest and waved seductively at the Twi’lek neighbor.  “Rather attractive...”
“Are you FLIRTING???”  Hunter growled.
“Jealous?”  Crosshair shot back eyeing Hunter while sipping from the mug.
Tech rolled his eyes.  But kept intently watching Crosshair.
“I might have to go over and introduce myself...right after I finish my caf.”
“I don’t give a WOMP RATS ASS what YOU do!”
“Did I ruffle your feathers, Hunter?  Just trying to be friendly.”  Cross drained his mug and set it on the counter.  “Since our Sergeant likes to keep the dress code...casual, guess I will too.”  He made a beeline for the Marauders outdoor hatch...still wearing NOTHING but the towel.
Hunter shot up out of his seat “DON’T you DARE go out there!”
Crosshair stopped in his tracks, not because Hunter forbade him from leaving the Marauder...
...but because Cross looked suddenly uncomfortable.  Then his stomach loudly gurgled.  Crosshair turned around now rethinking his earlier plan.
“What did YOU DO?” Crosshair demanded an answer from Tech.
Tech glared back with a diabolical grin.  “Punishing your flatulent activity.”
“WHAT???”  Both Cross and Hunter exclaimed.
“For the ‘Fart Jar’ Fiasco last night.”
“What jar?”  Crosshair held his belly and started to sweat.
“The one in my toolkit you left a...” surprise” in.  Honestly Crosshair, you’re acting obtuse.”
“Seriously?  Why can’t you all stop touching each other's stuff???”  Hunter felt like the ONLY adult on the ship.
Louder gurgling from Crosshair’s belly while he shook his sweaty head.  An abdominal cramp had him doubling over.  “Not m...”
“THAT WAS ME!”  Everyone turned to see Wrecker standing in the doorway, wearing his Republic Underoos, clutching Lula.
“WHAT?”  exclaimed Hunter, Tech, and a very painful Crosshair.
“I uh...wanted to get Crosshair back for crop dusting Lula...” He looked VERY guilty.
“Lula had it coming because I was blamed for you stinking up Hunter’s bed!”
“Wait...WHAT?” Hunter was seriously confused. “It SMELLED like Crosshair!”
“Yeah...” Wrecker scratched the back of his neck. “...because I KNOW how to build a stinkbomb.”
Hunter’s face dropped “WHY would you DO THAT to ME???”
Tech chimed in befuddled. “Yes, PLEASE explain WHY you would retaliate against Hunter and I when WE did NOTHING to you???”
“Because...’Wrecker paused and exhaled, then looked at all three of his brothers with fierce conviction. “I wanted to get one over on Cross for LETTING me get blamed by the 212th during our mission on Anaxis! AND because the two of YOU didn’t think I was SMART ENOUGH to pull off something like this!!!”
Hunter and Tech stared like deer in the headlights then glanced at each other.
“TELL ME you all DON’T assume I’m ALWAYS the DUMB one???” Wrecker crossed his arms over his chest.
“OH KRIFF!” Crosshair grabbed his bum with both hands and shuffled off to the refresher. He was ignored by his brothers to deal with his fate.
Hunter spoke first with humility. “NEVER thought you were dumb. Probably do underestimate you at times though. Wrecker, I promise to NEVER do this from now on.”
Wrecker turned to Tech now putting his hands on his hips. “WELL???”
“I’m IMPRESSED.”
Wrecker was mildly shocked.
“Your planning, ingenuity, divide and conquer strategy to create infighting and steer the blame away from yourself...I would ONLY consider such a diabolical scheme from Crosshair.” Tech pushed his glasses up his nose.
“Speaking of which...HOPE he made it to the refresher.” Hunter glanced behind him.
Tech sighed with remorse. “I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions and spiked his caf.”
“Wrecker NO!”
Wrecker was drinking straight from the carafe (which he usually did due to not having a mug big enough for the clone). Hunter yanked it from Wrecker grasp.
“SPIT!” Wrecker spit the heaping mouthful right back into the carafe.
“Wrecker, you didn’t swallow any cafe, did you?” Tech was EXTREMELY concerned.
“Nope.”
“THANK STARS! Here.” Tech pulled out a Saleucami Delight Juice Box and handed it to Wrecker.
“Do I REALLY want to know what’s in THAT caf???” Hunter swirled the liquid inside the carafe with concern.
“Negative” Tech took the carafe from Hunter and promptly poured it down the Marauder’s galley sink.
*********************
There were horrible noises emanating from the refresher. The smell was no better. Hunter refused to step any closer than the outside door to the bunk room. Held his nose the whole time. Tech sent Wrecker, whose sense of smell was next to nothing to check on Crosshair.
Wrecker gently knocked on the refresher door with his huge fist. “How ya holdin’ up, Cross?”
Nothing.
Then...a small weak strangled voice could be heard from behind the refresher door. “Wrecker...”
“...Yeah?”
“...I’m sorry...” More silence. “...never again...ok?”
“Ok Brother. I’ll...just leave ya to...finish.”
“Mmhm...” More sounds and whimpering.
“Oof.” Wrecker shook his head and walked off to join Hunter and Tech with palpable concern. “Is he gonna be ok?”
“Other than being moderately dehydrated and extremely chapped...most likely. However, he WILL be spending a full day in the refresher.”
Hunter shook his head, rolling his eyes. “Looks like I’m not getting a shower today.”
There was a knock at the Marauder gangplank.
Hunter strolled over and opened the hatch. Their Twi’lek neighbor appeared dressed in Meiloorun pajama bottoms and a tee with the words “I got high in Cloud City” emblazoned on it.
“Hi! Saw everyone was up. Wanted to invite you all over for breakfast at my place.” Pointing to their ship. “Figured since you like to go ‘casual’ I’d catch you early.” Sly grin and a wink.
Hunter grinned and chuckled. “That’s lovely...uh...unfortunately we’re experiencing an issue with our refresher...”
“You and your brothers can use mine!” The Twi’lek smiled warmly. “Uh...unless...It’s not TOO forward a thing to offer?” Nervously twisting their lekku.
“Not at all. LADS! We’ve been invited to breakfast AND to use our neighbor's refresher!” Then followed the delighted Twi’lek to their ship.
“WHOOO-HOOO!” Wrecker was off the ship in a flash, still in his Underoos clutching Lula.
Tech paused and looked back towards the refresher. Should he bother Crosshair now with this new development? He was sure Crosshair would figure it out. Tech shrugged, besides he wasn’t going ANYWHERE anytime soon. Descending the Marauder’s gangplank Tech decided he would check on Cross later.
******************
Back in the refresher, Crosshair heard EVERYTHING. He was damned if they were going to leave and have breakfast without him. Besides...his stomach was starting to feel a tiny bit better...
...then he was hit with ANOTHER deep abdominal cramp!
Crosshair pulled the last few squares off the roll beside him. DANK FERRICK! WAS IT SO KRIFFING HARD TO REPLACE THE ROLL??? Gritting his teeth, it was going to be a full toothpick pack kind of day. Cross felt around beside him and found the spare refresher paper package...
...to find it TOTALLY EMPTY! Crosshair was beyond pissed...so pissed he could have launched himself off the refresher seat into hyperspace!!!
WREEEEECKERRRRR!!!

enough grief for one lifetime - tech
Request: no Pairing:  tech x reader Summary:  once again you help the bad batch with their injuries Warnings: SPOILERS FOR THE BAD BATCH S2E15+S2E16, angst, mentions of injuries, blood, broken bones, swearing Word count:  2.7K A/N: there I fixed it.
you told hunter you would always be one comm away. they appreciate your help, but most of the time they're too far away for you to be of any help. it's why they rarely call you.
it's also why you nearly trip over your feet as you sprint to answer them when they do comm you.
'y/n here.' you say.
for a few seconds, you hear nothing but static sounds on the other side. then you hear echo.
'...need your help... went bad... on our way...'
'echo?' you say. 'you're breaking up really bad. how far away are you?'
'...injured... going to... you... tech-'
you hear a faint beep as the comm suddenly ends.
you can feel your heart beating faster. something or someone disconnected the connection you had with the marauder. was it simply a bad connection or was someone jamming their comms? or worse?
and then there is the way echo said tech's name. you knew echo, he knows how to keep his cool in battle. but he said tech's name in a panicked tone.
you don't know how far out they are, but you start preparing straight away. you live on a hot planet, and most of the locals live in huts with a lot of big windows. you've helped most of the locals when they get injured, it's how you met the bad batch in the first place. they got stranded on your planet and sought medical attention.
after your first meeting with them, you always stocked up on medial supplies, just in case. it seemed today is the day you'll need most of them.
you've only just finished setting everything up, when one of the local kids runs into your house.
'y/n! there's a ship approaching!' he says.
you follow him outside and spot the marauder. they're coming in fast, and you anxiously watch as they land none too gently and a bit too close to the village.
as you run up to the marauder, wrecker emerges from the ship, his back to you. you frown and run a little harder. you reach the ship and see that wrecker is carrying one of his brothers.
you feel your heart stop as your eyes land on tech. wrecker has his arms hooked underneath his arms, and echo is carrying tech's legs.
it looks like tech's entire body is bruised and bloody. he looks unrecognisable. one of his eyes is swollen shut, his nose appears to be broken and his lip is cut. he's not even wearing his glasses.
you stand there, rooted to the spot. if he hadn't been wearing his signature armour, and if you hadn't committed his face to your memory, you wouldn't be able to tell it was tech at all.
of course you cared about all of them. even though you didn't see them that much. but it always had been different with tech. you'd never acted on your feelings. afraid of too many things. that it wouldn't work out and it would make things awkward between you, that he didn't feel the same way, that something would happen and that he would leave you behind.
it seems like you should have taken the chance while you still had it. now it might be too late.
you come back to your senses when you spot hunter. he's holding tech's broken glasses in his hands.
'get him to my place.' you tell wrecker. 'I've set everything up already.'
wrecker nods and heads toward your house. you turn to hunter.
'anyone else injured?' you say.
'I've got a few broken ribs. might be some internal bleeding but I can't be too sure. omega took a heavy hit, but at least she can walk for now. I'm sure she's got a pretty serious concussion. you need to look at wrecker's neck and shoulder. echo is fine, he wasn't with us when we fell down. but you need to see to tech first. he's the worst of us all right now.' hunter states.
you're grateful for hunter's quick facts. it helps put you in a concentrated mindset. tech first. then omega, hunter, and wrecker. echo could help you. tech first. tech first. tech...
you nod once at hunter, then take off running toward your house.
once you get inside, you see wrecker and echo have put tech on the makeshift medical cot. they've taken off some of his armour.
'move.' you say.
you may sound harsh, but wrecker and echo know it's because you're focused, and a little stressed. they do as you say so you can quickly assess tech.
he's unconscious, but at least he's still breathing.
your fingers trail over his body. you'd been right about his face, a black eye, broken nose, a cut lip. he doesn't appear to have any more damage to his head, which you take as a good sign. you thank the maker for tech's helmet.
after further assessment, you can tell he's dislocated his left shoulder, and he's broken his left arm. you feel along his ribs and feel a few broken ones, but miraculously he shows no sign of internal bleeding in his chest.
he's broken his left leg the same place you helped set right a while ago. it looks like he fell on his left side, because his left knee is also dislocated.
you straighten your back and look at wrecker and echo. hunter and omega have arrived as well, and omega is worriedly looking at tech.
'echo, you're going to be my assistant today. you do everything I say, understood?' you say, slipping back into the role of the village chief medic.
echo nods. 'yes ma'am.'
'I'll get started on tech. you're going to help wrecker and hunter first, so they can help omega. then you're helping me with tech.' you say. 'first, you need to put a brace on wrecker's neck and check for other injuries. wrecker, you need to make sure you don't move your head and neck too much.'
both echo and wrecker nod at you. as echo moves to help wrecker, you give out the rest of the orders.
'echo, when you're done with wrecker, see to hunter's ribs. get a bandage around his chest nice and tight. but he needs breathing room, so not too tight. hunter, you can then see to omega. make sure she rests enough and drinks enough. when she gets dizzy or lightheaded, come to me immediately. echo, when you've seen to hunter, you help me with tech.' you say.
as they all start following your orders, you focus on tech again.
you take a deep breath. it's alright. just do what you do best.
you start bandaging up his chest. nice and tight, but with breathing room. just like you told echo. one thing at a time. you move to his left shoulder, inspecting it. you'd need echo to hold tech still while you set it right, but he's still busy with the others. you settle with taking a look at tech's leg.
just as you're done with tech's leg, echo is by your side.
'tell me.' he says.
you nod. 'I need you to hold him still while I put his knee and shoulder back.'
echo moves and holds tech's leg steady while you place your hands on his knee.
'one, two, three!'
with one quick movement, you snap tech's knee back in place.
'his shoulder next.' you say.
again, echo holds him while you count down and put tech's shoulder back in place.
a part of you is glad tech is still unconscious. at least he wouldn't actually feel you putting parts of his body back where they belong.
'what next?' says echo.
'I'm going to bind his arm and see to his face.' you say. 'can you get the others to the guest bedrooms? there's also water and food in the kitchen, make sure they eat something. then they need to get some rest.'
echo nods and takes off, getting the others to the bedrooms. you turn back to tech.
you exhale a shaky breath. just a few more, then it would be out of your hands. then all you had to do was stay by his side and wait for him to wake up.
as soon as you start taking care of tech's broken arm, you fall back into an easy routine. you'd taken care of more than one broken arm. it's ironic how you could do the movements in your sleep.
once you've finished with his arm, you finally move to his face.
you take a clean bandage, and use some water to make it damp, so you can clean some of the blood off of tech's face. behind you, you hear footsteps.
'the others are resting. omega is in the big guest room, hunter refused to leave her side so we got some pillows for him. wrecker is already asleep in the other guest room, I'm taking the other cot next to him.' says echo.
'alright.' you say, surprised you can maintain such a steady voice. 'I'm nearly done with tech.'
'you should get some rest as well.' says echo.
'sure.' you say.
you and echo both know you're staying up until tech wakes again.
echo's footsteps trail up the stairs, and you hear a door close in the distance.
you turn back to tech, cleaning his face.
'don't you dare scare me like this again.' you say softly. you're aware tech probably can't hear you. but you need this.
you don't know if you could ever tell him how you felt when you saw his bruised and bloody body in the arms of wrecker and echo. you would have given anything to change places with him.
sometimes you don't understand why you still have hope he could feel the same way about you. but there's always some tiny part of you that stubbornly refuses to believe tech doesn't care about you. maybe it was all foolishness, anyway.
you pull up a chair and sit down next to tech, letting your eyes roam over his face. he didn't look like himself without his glasses. hunter had put them on a table nearby, but they were broken. knowing tech, he could probably fix them. if only he would wake up.
now that echo is gone, you let the tears fall. everything you held back while you worked on tech, it's all coming out now. you sit there in silence, tears streaming down your face. you'd been this close to losing tech. and you wouldn't talk to him because you liked him.
no, you loved him.
holy fuck, you loved tech. maybe deep down you'd known all along. that whatever you felt for him went deeper than just caring about him. you loved him. you'd go crazy if you were to lose him.
'wake up.' you say softly. 'I need you to wake up.'
you sit there for hours. the tears long gone. you're just sitting there, waiting for tech to wake up. at some point in the night, echo had come down to get a glass of water for omega.
he didn't seem surprised to see you awake. instead, after taking the glass of water up to omega, he sat with you. talked with you about tech. what had happened. you just sat in silence and listened.
after a while, echo left again. and your fear and sadness turned to anger.
how could tech have done that? how could he have left his brothers behind like that? he almost left you behind.
you're not even tired anymore. the anger is giving you a new reason to stay awake. you needed tech to wake up so you could ask him why the fuck he would do that.
it's nearly dawn, and you're getting hungry. you get up to get a quick snack from the kitchen, then you return to tech's side.
'what the fuck were you thinking tech?' you mumble softly, as you look a this beaten up face. 'you’ve got people who care about you. do you have any idea what it’s like to lose someone that means that much to you?'
the soft rays of morning sunshine begin to fill the room. you watch tech's chest rise and fall beneath the bandages.
'what the hell were you even thinking.' you mumble. ‘it's like you don't even care about us.'
‘I do care about you all.’
you nearly drop the cup of caf you are holding. surely you didn't hear that right? but when you look at tech's face, you see he's opened one eye. the other is still swollen shut.
'then why the fuck did you do it?' you say.
tech looks confused. it might be because he's still in a lot of pain.
'I do care about you all.' says tech again.
you frown, getting up and stepping closer to him. 'I need to check to see if you haven't gotten a concussion anyway.' you say.
'I do care about you all.' says tech, more firmly this time.
you frown as you look at him.
'oh.'
‘it was the only way they would be able to get to safety.’ says tech.
‘I hate heroes’ you mumble. ‘a lot of heroes go to their deaths for what they think is a noble cause. all it does is cause the people who care about them more hurt. I’ve grieved enough for one lifetime.’
tech blinks slowly, as if staying awake is taking tremendous effort.
‘I will not give you any reason to grieve.’ he says.
‘but you can't promise me that.’ you say, feeling tears well up in your eyes.
‘I can promise you I will do my best to ensure you will never have to grieve the loss of either one of my brothers. or omega. or me.’ says tech.
you quickly wipe away your tears. 'you better do your damn best, you hear me? I was terrified you wouldn't wake up.' you say.
'you look like you haven't gotten any rest.' says tech.
'I didn't. I had to see to everyone's injuries.'
'surely that did not take all night?'
'well, no.'
'then why did you stay awake?'
'I was waiting for you to wake up.'
you look at tech again. there's a look in his eyes you can't quite understand. 'seriously though, don't do that again. I was scared.' you say.
'I will try to be more cautious.' says tech.
'and less heroic.' you say.
'I am a soldier. most soldiers tend to do heroic things.' says tech.
you chuckle softly. 'didn't lose your sense of humour, huh?'
'can I ask you something regarding your medial skills?' says tech.
'sure.' you say.
'how much good can you do in this village? it seems to shrink every time we get here.' says tech.
you shrug. 'that's because it does. most people move to the city, or off-world.' you say. 'in a couple of years this village won't exist anymore.'
'we could use a medic.' says tech.
you slightly raise your eyebrows. 'you're asking me to come with you?' you say.
'yes.'
'shouldn't hunter ask me?'
'I am asking you.'
you smile softly. 'I would go with you.' you say. 'if only to make sure I don't have to set your leg right a third time.' your smile falters slightly. 'why?'
'you said you've seen enough grief for a lifetime.' says tech. 'I simply think you need to balance it out. traveling with us won't be easy, we're still wanted by the empire. but at least you will be with us. people who care about you, instead of staying in a village that's disappearing.'
'if hunter is okay with it, I'll come with you.' you say.
'I'm okay with it.'
you look over your shoulder. 'how long have you been standing there?' you say.
'long enough. welcome to the bad batch.' says hunter. 'echo's making breakfast. I'll make sure he brings two plates here for you.'
'thanks.' you say as hunter leaves.
you turn back to tech. 'looks like you're stuck with me.' you say.
'I don't mind being stuck with you.' says tech. 'and thank you.'
'for what?'
'taking care of me.'
you impatiently wave your hand. 'I'm a medic. it's what I do tech.'
'true. but you did not have to stay with me all night. you have my thanks for that, too.'
'you're welcome, tech. now get some rest.'

Vader Catches the Race (Ficlet)
Words: <500
Warnings: N/A
A/N: I thought it would be funny/endearing if Vader happened to catch Tech’s race. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Despite being “Dictator of the Galaxy”, Darth Vader still liked to keep up with pod racing every now and then when he had a moment’s time between menial meetings with his generals or during especially lengthy travel.
He flicked on his portable holo as he walked down the hall, ignoring the saluting soldiers as he passed. A far more dangerous division of pod racing was airing across the channels- Riot Racing. Having been a podracer in his youthful past life, Darth Vader typically kept an affinity for the traditional rules of pod racing, but the Force urged him to catch the tail end of the race playing out before him.
The holo showed that one of the racers had just sped away from the pit stop, weapons clanking to the ground behind him. The announcers identified him as an amateur. Darth recognized that this was an unorthodox approach to Riot Racing as weapons were enthusiastically encouraged in this sport. This only raised his enthrallment of the race.
The racers were coming on the Tri-Tunnel. Apparently, the left tunnel was under construction, so most racers sped into the middle or right one. Not the amateur. Another risk? This racer was either extremely calculated or had a death wish.
Darth Vader stopped mid stride and held the holo up closer to his masked face. He found himself rooting for the underdog, wanting the unconventional tactics to win the race. He let his free hand clench in anticipation at his side.
The racer had been able to pull through the tunnel and was now sandwiched between the remaining racers. He dodged a grab attack, letting the arm fly onto the leading pod. This gave him enough room to speed into first place, just before the finish line.
His crazy strategies had worked! He had won the race. The announcers congratulated the winner over the comms system.
Had they said Tech? Surely this wasn’t the Tech he had been acquaintanced with, long ago.
The winning racer pulled into his pit stop and hopped out of the cockpit. It was him. The genetically modified clone pulled off his helmet as he was greeted by another, bigger man and a young girl. Darth recognized him as Wrecker but was unfamiliar with the girl.
He let his hand relax. The crowd in attendance began to chant his name.
Tech! Tech! Tech! Te-
Darth Vader shut off the holo. He stuffed the device into his side pocket as he continued toward the flight deck. But, as he glided down the hallway, cape flowing behind him, a small, involuntary smirk grew behind the intimidating mask.
A small part of him, far in the depths of his subconscious, was somewhat relieved to know that at least a few worthy clones were left in the galaxy— even if they were now at oppositions.

Just an idea i was rolling around last night in the throes of my insomnia.
Imagine: A Jedi resting with their men after a particularly hard battle. It’s late and the Jedi went back to save one squad. They’re struggling to understand why their Jedi felt they were important enough to be saved when they fell behind. Their Jedi gives them this explanation:
“Sir, I still don’t understand why you came back for us. We’re made to be expendable, nothing more than numbers.”
“Not to me. Look at the stars. Looking at them right now they don’t seem extraordinary, correct? At first glance they all look the same, serving the same purpose, nothing special about a bunch of identical stars. No one would miss it if a single star burned out. But that’s not true. Those stars aren’t identical, not really. Once you look at them, really look at them, you see how unique they are. Some are huge suns, warming the planets of a system. Others are smaller, contributing to constellations. Some burn fiery hot and wild while others are cooler and steady. No two stars burn the same and the loss of one of them will always impact those around it. A sun burns out and a whole system is gone. A constellation is incomplete when it is missing even just one of its contributors. When a star dies, those around it are left with the empty void. They try to compensate for the loss but it’s never quite the same. It will always be a little less brilliant with one missing. And what happens when it’s more than one? First one star, then the next, and then the next. It won’t be long before the sky is dark, empty, and lonely; no light to guide our way.
That is why I came back for your squad trooper. You and your brothers are stars, appearing identical at first glance but each and every one of you is, bright, warm, beautifully unique and unquestionably important. The loss of even one trooper leaves us incomplete, coping with the emptiness their absence brings, the loneliness of a brother no longer by our side, a system plunged into darkness, and the surrounding stars trying to compensate for the light they’ve lost in their fallen brother. You’re neither expendable or just numbers, to me or to your brothers and I will always come back for you.”

may i request a jedi fem!reader x tech where they are on a mission together after some time, and they get separated from the rest of the group. she fights very well against some opponents but ends up getting just a bit bloody and hurt, mostly due to an aggressive fighting style, that of a warrior. tech notices all the new scars n stuff on her face and forearms and is worried. she insists she's fine and tries to brush it off, even though she doesnt like them and makes her less of a jedi and more of a warrior. he comforts her telling her things like your a great general and you don't have to follow the code perfectly to still be a good jedi. so basically first kiss fluff and comfort, a bit of angst.
sorry it was so long! have a great day/night
I love Tech soo muchhhh 🥹 This was a cute idea, so here it is! Hope you like it.
Next request will feature Commander Mayday I think!
Stay tunned,
Xx,
Sky.
"JEDI WARRIOR"
TBB REQUESTS —TECH/F READER
WARNINGS: Blood, scars. A sprinkle of angst but mostly fluff and comfort 📩💔💖
"I'll distract them!" your voice shouts loud and clear through the batch's coms frequency.
Tech frowns, dodging a shot and quickly neutralising the droid responsible for it.
"General..." he begins, clearly not happy with the offer, but you cut him of quickly.
"That's an order" you almost bark back to him.
You don't mean to be mean or harsh. But you're in the middle of a battle, there's lifes on danger, and though you know Tech's worried about you, you can't let that distract you. You need to distract your enemies so the Batch can get to their base; so they can get the information needed. Information that will save hundreds of lifes and will be valuable to the Republic. You know Tech will probably have a list of the things that could go wrong with you getting separated from them in his mind; but it's your choice, ultimately. If you die, so be it. You'd do it honorably.
Tech clenches his jaw.
"Yes, General".
You run away, jumping over dozens of droids and never slowing down, your orange lightsaber dancing through their lines, a blur of light in the almost darkness of the arriving night. While you atract the majority of their troops and pull them far away, the Batch advances. You hope you can hold them off til they get what you need.
Time passes, and your enemies seem to close around you. Droids are not the main problem; the natives of Garsa are, riding big felines with sharp teeth that painfully closes around your arms and legs more than once. One of the predators catches your ankle and pulls, dragging you through the dirt; and you can't help the furious, painful scream that leaves your mouth, twisting around quickly and stabbing your lightsaber through his own open mouth. The animal screeches and dies.
When you hear Hunter's voice through your coms again, half an hour later, you're on the verge of falling unconscious. You can barely fight much longer; energy drained even with your extensive Jedi training. You feel blood all over you, mixing with the dirt of the ground you've been rolling in. It tingles painfully, all the open wounds on your body; specially the deep scratches on your face, that tugs with every facial expression and movement.
You must be quite the sight, because when the Batch comes near you, Tech suddenly halts upon seeing you. A second later, they're all standing around you, helping you to get rid of the last enemies and giving you cover while you start your hurried way back to the Marauder.
Once you're safely flying away on the ship, you collapse down onto the floor. Wrecker grabs you before you can really slam down onto it; lowering you gently. Your mind feels dizzy with exhaustion; and you've almost fallen asleep in place when Tech kneels besides you, route already established and on automatic pilot.
His fingers carefully brush your hair away; chocolate brown eyes studying you worriedly.
"Let's get you cleaned up and fixed, General" he whispers, putting your arm over his shoulders and tugging you up to a stand with him.
You grunt in pain and lean most of your weight against him.
"Don't know if I can stay up and conscious through a shower" you mumble tiredly.
Tech starts a slow, careful walk towards the bathroom. The rest of the Batch scatters throughout the ship, tending to their own wounds and exhaustion.
"That is okay" Tech answers, unbothered. "You could stay with your underware on and I could assist you with that, if you would be comfortable with such situation".
You glance at him and inevitably smile. His cheeks are slightly flushed, though he's trying to keep his voice and posture as professional as possible. You know it's a weird situation, and he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable.
Maybe you would be with Hunter or Wrecker or Cross. But you've always felt safe and at ease with Tech specially; and it would be just one soldier helping another. Of sorts.
" 'M okay with that" you give him your permission, and Tech nods quietly.
Once in the bathroom, you hold yourself with a hand against the wall and slowly pull your clothes of. Tech intently stares down at the floor; only risking a quick glance upwards when you let out a small whimper of pain. Your pant's are abandoned on the floor; but your bloody shirt is stuck to a wound on your stomach, and just touching the material of the shirt makes your wound burn.
"Let me" Tech asks, gently, and you push your hands over your head, staying as still as possible while he carefully separates the shirt from your skin and pulls it off of your body.
You sigh in relief and thank him before wobbling into the shower. Tech's hand stabilises you; and he makes sure to catch you whenever you stumble a bit too much for his comfort. You get rid of the dirt and blood, being specially carefull with your injuries; and then gently dry your skin with a towel.
Tech takes a step back –dropplets of water running down his still in place armour–, eyes glancing down at the floor again. You smile with his consideration of your privacy; though the smile dissapears from your face when you take a look at the small mirror in front of you.
The wounds are deep, and they will scar. One crosses over your nose, another cuts vertically through your left eyebrow, and two other big ones slashes your right cheek. Smaller ones go over your lip, though you think those will heal nicely. You open your towel and glance down, analysing. There's more across your body. You...
"Don't look like a jedi" you unconsciously mumble out loud. "More like a warrior".
Tech's eyes meet yours through the reflection of the mirror. He frowns, and you fake a smile while you pull yourself out of your thoughts. You hide under the towel.
"I'm fine".
It's obviously a lie; and Tech has always been intelligent.
His hands hesitantly land on your shoulders; thumbs caressing slowly.
"You're a great general" he tells you, gentle. "This was a suicide mission, and yet we all made it out fairly well, considering the circumstances. You don't have to follow the code perfectly to be a good Jedi. Jedi's use the Force to help people, to bring peace to the galaxy. Isn't that what you do everyday?"
His words make your heart ache. Your eyes fill with tears.
Yeah, you do. Maybe he's right. Maybe you don't have to follow the code literally step by step. Maybe what you're doing is enough. You're only human, after all.
Maybe...
You turn towards Tech. He's tall, and handsome, and polite and gentle, intelligent and caring. You've always liked him. Always felt something towards him, even if you've tried to burry it inside your soul.
Maybe... Your hands tremble as they make their way up to his face; carefully cupping his cheeks. Tech blushes, but he doesn't glance or move away. He's still, breathing heavier, eyes fixed on yours, waiting expectantly. His hands slowly travel down your back to your hips; his back curves down to close the distance between your lips.
You cling to his shoulders, stand on your tiptoes, and kiss him. Your eyes close with a relieved sigh, and you can feel him first tensing, then relaxing, into the kiss too. His lips are soft and his movements meassured and gentle; kissing you like you're the most important thing in the galaxy. You feel warm and safe. Excited and in peace at the same time.
When you separate in order to breathe, he caresses your cheek in wonder and presses his forehead against yours with a happy sigh.
Yeah. Maybe it is okay.
THE END.
