Arajin Tomoshibi/f!Reader/Marito Jin
Summary: A misunderstanding leads Arajin to realizing he's not quite over his crush on you; it's even harder ignoring his own feelings when you also manage to peak his volatile boyfriend's interest. A/N: This takes place in a AU without magic and honki people. Suggestive language, but no smut: part 2 coming soon! Enjoy! wc: 2.3k
“Let Arajin go!”
Marito felt something smack the back of his head, right dead center of his bun; he slowly turns enough to see you holding a ladle high above your head. You flinched, but held the utensil higher. Arajin shrugged off Marito’s arm; his soul might have ascended from his body, seeing you standing in the middle of the street.
“What are you doing?!”
“It’s okay; you start running, I’ll hold this jerk off!” Your knees shake, threatening to buckle under you at the glare Marito is casting your way. “Run!”
“Wa-wait! It’s not what you think!” Arajin sputters, hands raised as he gets between you and Marito. “What are you even doing here? Mom said you were on serving duty today; just go back to the restaurant-”
“Ara-teen, do you know this little beast?” Marito’s lips form a slow, cold smile. “That must be it; otherwise, I sure hope she has a good reason for attacking me so rudely on our date.”
“Date?” You blink, lowering the ladle to your chest. “Arajin, you…know this guy? So, he’s not bullying you?”
About ten minutes prior, you, a server at the Chu Chu Chinese Restaurant, had been tossing a couple of trash bags out in the dumpster when your eyes spied Arajin walking past with someone you didn’t know. The taller boy’s arm was slung over Arajin’s shoulders and he was talking animatedly, but your immediate assumption was that this stranger was shaking down Arajin for money or favors. You didn’t know at the time Marito Jin was in fact a gang leader, but currently you’re apologizing profusely for your “attack”; Arajin and Marito sat across from each other at an empty table as you explained to them what was going through your mind.
“I feel so dumb.” You bow your head in Marito’s direction specifically. “I really am sorry, I jumped to conclusions; I’ve been worried about Arajin having a tough time at school and I guess…I assumed the worst. I’m so sorry, Jin-san.”
“I’ll let it go this time.” Marito says coolly, barely glancing your way. “I wouldn’t normally let you live after such an offense, but for Ara-teen’s sake, I’ll excuse your rudeness.”
Arajin gulped: there’s no way he can tell you Marito is actually not only a juvenile delinquent but a dangerous psycho. No, it’s better you don’t get involved in any of this; Arajin’s known you most of his life. His mother and yours had been friends forever and when your mother passed, you had been all but adopted. You made ends meet working at Chu Chu; you were earnest and hard working but something of a worry wart, at least when it came to Arajin.
“You really don’t have to worry about me,” Arajin tries to sound casual and breezy as you set down two cups of hot tea. “Marito might seem scary but he is a…well, he’s very…he would never, uh…”
Okay, maybe it’s dishonest to try and tell you Marito is a “good” person but Arajin really doesn’t want you to be concerned; if anything, he knows Marito is going to be the first person to throw down on his behalf should anyone even try to hurt him. Now, whether or not Marito will be inflicting any of that pain himself, that’s something Arajin can’t quite say for sure.
“Is your head okay?” You look around Marito’s head; you lightly touch the spot you made contact with. “I can get you some ice.”
“Wow, you are wound up tight.” Marito slaps your hand away, but it’s more of a light swat than anything. “Ara-teen, tell her to calm down and bring us food; it’s bad enough our date got interrupted, I’m starving.” he whined as you left to fetch them some appetizers. “Also, you didn’t ask how my head was…”
“You said it didn’t hurt though,” Arajin grumbles under his breath, blowing on his tea. “I can’t believe this. What on earth was she thinking?”
“Is she your guard dog? A little beast like her couldn’t hurt a fly.” Marito snickers, teeth baring wolfishly. “Don’t tell me she thinks you need her to protect you.”
“It’s more like…she’d step in to help anyone.” Arajin smiles a little himself; he remembers how hard you were shaking, the real fear behind your bold glare. “She’s crazy, that girl.”
“Hey, who are we talking about here?” You come back to their table with two plates loaded up with food. “Arajin, so mean.”
“No, I didn’t mean it how it sounded!” Arajin scrambles to explain himself. “You were really cool back there actually.”
“Aw, come on, you and I both know I’m useless in a fight; that was all a bluff.” You address Marito. “Besides, he’s the one who looks cool. I really like your hair and piercings.”
“Flattery won’t get you on my good side.”
“No, I’m serious.” You tell him with some surprise. “I’m sure you get this a lot, but you could be a model or something; of course, Arajin’s still the cutest. He’s off the charts when it comes to being a cutie pie.”
“Ugh, don’t make fun of me.”
“Come on, no need to be modest in front of your date.” You tease. “He knows what I’m talking about, right Jin-san?”
“I’m an expert.” Marito agrees, fixing Arajin with a knowing look. “You should see how cute he looks when-”
“KNOCK IT OFF!”
“Soooo scary!” Marito cackles. “Is your face red from anger? Or something else?”
“You’re both awful.”
Arajin scoffs but inwardly he’s getting…tingly. It’s almost like both you and Marito are flirting with him, giving him all this attention. He has to remind himself you’re just being nice.
Marito takes a chicken skewer and tears a bite of juicy meat off with a satisfied hum. “Hm, these are different.”
“Oh that one is my recipe.” You grin. “Arajin, do you like it?”
“It’s delicious.”
“Yay!”
Arajin feels his chest swell at the look of pride on your face; honestly he would happily swallow unseasoned glass shards by the spoonful if you asked him to. You were wrong: if anyone’s cute it’s you. God, he’s only been back for a few months; Arajin thought by now you wouldn’t have the same effect on him, especially now he’s seeing someone. To be fair, with Marito he wasn’t exactly given a choice, but still.
“Feed me, Ara-teen!” Marito leans over the table and points to his open mouth. “I want a dumpling.”
“You have hands!”
Arajin’s cheeks flush and he hopes you don’t notice. He uses his chopsticks to take a dumpling and pops it into his mouth, ignoring Marito’s whimper, but hunger wins out and he takes a dumpling for himself.
“Here, don’t forget the sauce.” Arajin slides the bottle over to Marito. “You always eat too fast and forget to use it.”
“Aw, thanks honey~”
“Don’t. Call. Me. That.”
“Yum!” Marito licks his lips eagerly. “These really hit the spot.”
“I hope you like them; I still feel bad about earlier, so I doubled the portion.” You smile sweetly, hands clasped to your chest. “I made them with lots and lots of love, just for you two!”
Arajin almost chokes when your hands form a heart shape; Marito pauses mid bite as you shoot them with a “love beam” and giggle childishly.
“Chu!” You blow them a kiss. “Please let me know if you want anything else; have fun on your date, Arajin-it was nice to meet you, Jin-san.”
Arajin can barely stop himself from staring as the skirt of your uniform flounces around your thighs and your hips sway with every step.
“I see how it is.” Marito leans over the table with a sly smile. “Ara-teen, bad boy. You’re practically family, aren’t ya? Does she know about your little crush? Or were you childhood sweethearts? Don’t say it’s so, I’ll be jealous.”
“No, no, no! We’re barely friends, my mom knew her mom, she’s just…”
But Arajin can tell Marito isn’t buying his excuses; of course he’s thought about you that way.
“I liked her.” Arajin confesses quietly. “She’s cute and she's a good person: I admire her, that's all."
Cute, brave, sweet, and only the most perfect girl and Arajin knows he doesn’t have a chance in hell. Besides, you don’t see him that way; he might as well be your kid brother, the way you fuss and act so protectively.
“I can see it now: two love birds who grew up together, getting married and running this place, a few kids maybe, real domestic. Blegh.” Marito rolls his eyes. “I bet your mom would be thrilled; is she planning the wedding? You're not just playing with me to pass the time, are ya?”
“You know mom likes you; you shocked her maybe, but she thinks you're funny and cool.” Arajin replies with a small smile. "Not that she wouldn't be happy with anyone as long as they treat me well. The only thing that would make the old hag happier is maybe if you and I and-”
“We all got together? You, me, and that little beast?” Marito picks up a dumpling, almost gingerly with his chopsticks, inspecting it with an odd half smile. “Nah, more like…a nervous little kitten who doesn’t know how to use her claws yet. She needs training.”
Arajin watches Marito carefully; he’s been acting off all afternoon. More so, at least.
"You heard what she said: besides, she hates fighting." Arajin remarks, passing Marito the whole plate of skewers. "Go on, these are your favorite right?"
"They're best when you make 'em though." Marito winks, basically salivating as he picks up another stick. "I bet you've had a lot of her cooking, huh?"
"Why do you keep bringing the conversation back to her?" Arajin sighs; his teas gone cold but he's too anxious to call you back over to bring more. "My mom teaches her and she has me for a guinea pig. Actually when she started cooking it was awful."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, always over salted or undercooked or burned, you name it." Arajin recalls various failed dishes he had been assigned to taste test. "She'd do it over and over again though. It was important to her. Mom would tell her food can be an expression of personality; I guess that's why she put so much effort into doing better."
Every time, you would go to him with a hopeful spark in your eyes; even now you're self conscious about how your food tastes. Arajin would say the practice paid off, but considering he would consume poison made with your painstaking care, maybe he's not the one you should've been going to for critiques.
"Her food tastes like her." Marito smacks his lips in satisfaction. "I taste it."
"The saying isn't really literal." Arajin smiles in exasperation. "What are you even tasting?"
Marito leans his chin on his hand; he has a much more subdued expression and the abrupt change on his demeanor isn't lost on Arajin. Marito is being serious.
"Filling warmth."
"Filling...warmth?"
"It's kinda like," Marito drawls. "There's heat in my belly; I already ate so much, I know I shouldn't eat more, but I can't get enough. Don't ya taste it?"
"Yeah, well," Arajin scratches his cheek. "I'd say it's comforting? Something like that."
“So, you do have a crush."
"Marito, lower your voice please!"
"Says the one squealing like a little girl; gotta say, I’m a bit disappointed in you, Ara-teen. All this time and you never tried to claim her? Normally you woulda been kissin' her ass and the ground she walks on, but you're holding back?” Marito asks, almost as if he’s genuinely curious. “You’re so odd: fiery and bold one minute and all shy and timid the next.”
“I mean, we’re…together now, so what does it matter? Come on, it's not funny, Marito. We're on a date but you keep trying to-to goad me into flirting or something.” Arajin glances around, but no one seems to be paying them any mind. “You act like you want me to make a move on her.”
“Maybe I do.”
Arajin watches, gaping as Marito sinks his teeth into the last dumpling; he’s staring towards where you’re speaking with his mother behind the bar counter. You’re nodding, looking fairly serious now, at the ready and eager to help. Arajin can feel his heart fluttering again and he jumps when Marito’s foot slides to tap his own under the table; Arajin looks up but Marito’s eyes are still on you, a strained smile playing on his lips, as if he's trying to not laugh.
Although everything on the table has been devoured already, Arajin wouldn't know it from the hungry way Marito scans your face, the way his tongue darts out as if to savor any trace left of the meal you had brought them. He looks ready to lick the empty plate clean: except, his eyes are still on you.
Arajin squirms in his seat and at the same moment, you seem to have noticed them staring. You wave sweetly, smiling at them; Arajin could dissolve into a puddle as Marito reaches under the table to grasp at his knee.
"Hey, ya know what we oughta do? Let's adopt a kitten."
"What?!" Arajin gasps, words cut off as Marito slides his wandering hand further to his thigh. "Stop teasing, this really, really, isn't funny..."
“I thought you liked when I teased you?" Marito giggles maniacally. "Anyway, she did say with lots and lots of love for us. Or are you so worked up you can't remember?"
"I don't think she meant..I-I couldn't-"
"Please, Ara-teen? Pretty, pretty please?" Marito coos and simpers; there's a hint of pink rising in his pale cheeks. “I wanna play with that kitten.”

Teen Wolf "Green Creek au"
Part 2 | Part 1
It was a strange thing to think about Theo Raeken as an omega. Okay. It was expected, Theo was a loner. The one of a kind. The first Chimera. He was selfish, bitter, didn't care for anyone. But Liam was stroked by a feeling of wrongness when he saw Theo's eyes. Purple, so, so purple.
Because Theo was selfish, and bitter, and didn't care for anyone, but Liam didn't believe that they were all true. He was all those things, but he was also the boy who fought with him. Who decided Liam was enough saving or didn't see enough on himself to save. He was the boy who didn't know how to take someone's pain away because no one had taught him. The kid who was manipulated into thinking that to be powerful, he couldn't trust anyone.
"His leg is going to be okay," Deaton said. "It's going to take longer to heal, at least longer than it should for your kind."
Liam was stroking Theo's head, his fingers moving as if it was an instinct. He wasn't awake, Deaton had given him a sedative so he could close his wounds, and stop the unstoppable bleeding. "Why? Silver shouldn't work on him. I couldn't smell any poison. So, what-"
"He's an omega, Liam. Have been for a while. The Dread Doctors have created a perfect imitation of werewolves, even on this thing."
"He didn't have a pack before."
"Didn't he? They could be dysfunctional, and wronged, somehow, but they were all he had. A family born into that mess, or, at least, something he could rely on. He was with ten for what, ten years? They might not had the strongest bond, but they were all he had. And then, well, he had you to rely on, I suppose." Liam felt out of breath for a second, his hand stopping its movement before he relaxed, letting his hand rest on top of Theo's head. The thought was too close to saying Liam was Theo's anchor.
"How long?" was all he managed to say. "How long is going to take to heal?"
"It's not so easy to guess, but I'd say a week. He's not eating properly, nor drinking water, it's not only he being an omega that's doing this."
Liam worried his bottom lip, eyes focused on Theo's fur "I'm going to take care of this."
"Liam-"
"He can't go back to the woods. He's hurt, and he's going to be vulnerable. He can't go back. Theo is my responsibility, I'm taking care of him."
"I can't tell how long he has shifted, Liam. He- an omega can be dangerous, they can go feral. He's been missing for what, one to two months? He can be in his wolf form since then. This, combined with him being omega is dangerous. He's unpredictable. Theo might be too lost in his wolf. Besides, we don't know when he actually became an omega and how this works, since he is a Chimera."
"Exactly. We can't tell when he became an omega. Deaton, Theo was unpredictable before, and I chose to take him as my responsibility. I'm choosing again."
The vet sighed, shook his head, and pitched his nose before he looked at him again. "Call Scott. He'll want to know what his beta is doing, and why my clinic smells like Theo. Call him as soon you can."
"Yeah. I will." Liam hadn't thought about that.
Nor had he thought how he was going to hide a huge wolf in his room without his mother finding out.
He ended up sat in his bed looking at a still-asleep black wolf. His bedroom smelled like a hospital, a slight smell of blood. But it was combined with citrus and rain, caramel and lightnings. It made his stomach twist.
Theo was an omega, and I felt wrong. Because Theo deserved a pack, a second chance, and happiness. He was eighteen and was caught up in a mess when he was nine. They had promised him that he would be powerful, he wouldn't need to feel insecure or afraid, and what kid would deny that? Theo was a kid when they came, he had been manipulated and used and Liam felt nauseous.
And then, he was ignored by Liam's pack. They had been betrayed before, they had forgiven those. But they ignored Theo. He was left in the woods, they were happy that he was missing —even if Liam said it wasn't true, that he had to hold himself so he wouldn't go searching for him, he never did, so it didn't matter. They didn't care Theo was still a kid, a kid who was brought up in a broken place.
They had failed him. Liam had failed him. He was his responsibility, after all.
And Liam got it, okay? Theo had destroyed their trust, he almost destroyed them. But now, he was an omega, he had shifted into his wolf form because feelings were easier like that. And even then, he couldn't imagine how lonely Theo must have felt. Wolves weren't meant to be alone.
Liam felt sick.
He needed to call Scott, but he wanted to scream at him, even though it wasn't his fault. He never asked anything to them. However, Liam wanted someone to blame and the Dread Doctors were dead while Theo was still suffering.
He inhaled slowly. Citrus, rain, caramel and lightnings filling his lungs. His eyes were on Theo, his wolf form occupying half of his bedroom.
Liam was going to take care of him, at least until his leg healed. He wasn't going to let him alone, not again. Everything was going to be okay, somehow.
He needed to call Scott.

pumpkin patch (Modern au) 2/2
tonowari x reader x ronal
Tumblr media
When fall had finally come to Pandora that meant the seasons are changing saying goodbye, to this years and waiting for a brand new year to come . During the time of fall the pumpkin patches will started popping up here and there, as many families and friends will started go there to celebrate and get their own pumpkins. The pumpkin patch was always something to look forwards, when the fall leaves and fall color starts to come starting off one of the many fall festivals to come.
y/n " Kids we are leaving for the pumpkin patch in twenty minutes" you yell in the hallways as the kids were getting ready for the family outing.
the kids " yes mama"
y/n " what about you two"
ronal " we are almost ready I need to make sure everything is handle at the clinic today, for my day off"
tonowari " I still can't believe we are doing this family tradition after so long"
y/n " well we started it when we were a friends and kept it going, when we got married and soon started our family"
ronal " well you are the one who should be taking all the credit for starting this with us and keeping it going, as the kids look forward for it each year"
y/n " well I owe you both so much for keeping this going on with me... well I will leave you to finish get ready I will be downstairs" you soon walked downstairs, but you were not alone for that long as tsireya soon came down the steps.
tsireya " hey mama"
y/n " hello my beautiful girl"
tsireya " ready for the pumpkin patch this year I can't wait to see what type of pumpkins they have this year"
y/n " well it good to see you kids this love this family tradition even after you have become adults"
tsireya " we will always love it mama"
y/n " well that make me feel happy"
????? " she not wrong mama we will always love going to the pumpkin patch as a family" you soon saw rotxo and aonung walking down the stairs, they soon walked over to you and tsireya.
aonung " yeah it fun we get to spend time with you, baba, and mom along with trying out all the good food and cider they sell... the desserts are my favorite"
y/n " you have a sweet tooth like your dad"
rotxo " I have to agree the food and drinks are good, but they will never top taking the family photo"
y/n " yes the family photo is always fun I have them all from when you were all little babies to teens" you and the kids look at the pictures as smile had grown on everyone face.
ronal " well I'm done who ready for pumpkin patch and a perfect family photo for my desk" the kids laugh at ronal response because her desk had photos of the kids, you and tonowari taken over the years.
y/n " now we are waiting for tonowari"
aonung " baba are you coming"
tonowari " I'm here son no need to worry" tonowari soon showed himself in the living room, now the family was all together.
ronal " well we are all here now lets get going" the family had nodded their heads as they all soon left the home, and got into the family care and headed toward the pumpkin patch.
y/n " well we are here kids" once the car was parked the kids had gotten out of the car quickly, as they couldn't wait to see what will be happening today.
tonowari " well kids like ever year we will start off with picking our own pumpkins and soon leading to everything else later"
the kids " yes baba"
y/n " well you can go pick your pumpkins but stay close to where you can be seen"
the kids " yes mama" the family soon spilt up as everyone wanted to find their own pumpkins today, and later show it to everyone else later on in the day.
y/n " ummm oh yes this one is perfect" you were walking along all the areas of pumpkins that had been grown and harvest, for visitor to come and take home. When you came across and peace color pumpkin that had gotten your attention.
y/n " you are the perfect size as well I think I found the perfect find for me this year"
????? " mama" you soon hear your name getting called you soon saw tsireya making her way over to you, with a bright smile on his face as she was carrying a light green pumpkin.
tsireya " mama look what I got I was walking around and spotted this in area over there, it so beautiful and good size and came over to show you"
y/n " it amazing honey you found something great like you do each year"
tsireya " hey mama if the sully family is here will it be fine if I hang out with lo'ak for a while"
y/n " may I ask is this a friend hangout or crush hangout"
tsireya " mama"
y/n " if they are here then yes you can hangout with the sully kids but mostly lo'ak if you wish"
tsireya " thank you mama"
y/n " you are welcome my child"

Pairing: Starish X afab!Reader X Quartet Night
Synopsis: On this momentuous night, MC ends her visit with a special song dedicated for each of her beloved idols.
Word Count: 1,504
Tumblr media
Tonight's the night. The night that she finally finished visiting them. She already seen their smiling faces and their unique personalities, each and everyone differ from each other and it truly captured her attention.
The [h/c]ette teen hummed a gentle tune that was written by no other than the girl herself—For You. It was the song that she wrote to express her feelings for each and every one of her beloved idols, and that's the reason why she's very jubilant tonight.
[E/c] eyes wandered around the place as she walks; the blooming, pink leaves of the famous cherry blossoms caught her attention successfully. The bright, full moon shone its white moonlight down unto her figure, an opaque shadow forming right behind her walking form.
After meeting everyone from both St☆rish and Quartet Night, [Y/n] left the premises and decided to take a midnight stroll once again outside. She arrived at the garden that was filled with bountiful cherry blossoms everywhere. A smile found its way unto her lips once she saw the moon giving light to the place, several pink leaves floated around.
'Koko ni aru no wa
Kimi ga ima made eranda michi no
Kotaetachi yo
Hora jishin motte susumeba ii
Totemo shizen na no
Ameagari no asufaruto ni
Niji ga kakaru you ni'
She sang. Her angelic and soft voice resonated around the place, creating an echo of delicate harmony. The wind picked up and made the leaves of the trees sway, some fell off from its respective branch and floated pass the girl. Her [e/c] orbs reflected the shine of the moon as she halted to a stop, her figure glistening under the heavenly arrays of light. The previous soft breeze gently caressed her [s/c] skin whilst her hair danced along with the evening winds.
'Lonely kaze ga fuite
Feeling ki ga tsuita yo
Kotae wa doko ni mo nai kedo
Call me wakatteru wa
With you ai wa itsumo
Atae au mono'
[Y/n] reached a gazebo and slowly trudged her way towards it. It was designed with ivory, marble tiles, and white, wooden pillars on each corner, vines climbing up until it reaches the top. The white roof was painted with a cherry blossom design, covering most space with pink and green hue. In the middle of the gazebo was a lone white, wooden bench. She sat on it and closed her eyes, relaxing her body as she leaned back. The girl continued to sing her heart out, both of her hands clutched on her chest. Her eyelids slowly fluttered close, deciding that it is better to sing with closed eyes to be able to feel the emotions surging through.
'For You
Kitto kimi wa itsu no hi ka
Kono sora o toberu hazu dakara
Nando tsumazuita toshite mo
For You
Taisetsu na koto wa hitotsu
Yume miru koto
Kokoro dake wa tozasanaide ite'
Unbeknownst to her, three members of St☆rish heard her sing and taken by curiosity, they decided to search for the source of the voice. Though even without any evidence, those three knew whose voice that was. They knew that it belonged to no other than [Y/n] herself.
Red, brown and bluish-black hairs emerged from a corner and their eyes immediately fell on the gazebo. There they saw the silhouette of the girl sitting on the bench in the middle of the gazebo.
Otoya's reddish-orange eyes stared lovingly at [Y/n]'s silhouette from the distance, listening attentively to her angelic voice. As for Tokiya, he was entranced by the girl's harmony with his blue eyes dilated wide in surprise. Though a small smile soon tugged his lips.
"[Y/n]-chan's voice is blessed by the muses..." Cecil breathed, taking in every tune.
'Kizutsuite mo namida korae
Gaman shiteta yo ne
Sonna kimi o ichiban chikaku de
Mitekita kara
Nani mo iwanakute mo
Wakatteru yo
Donna toki mo gambatteta koto'
As the song progressed, a pair of blondes appeared from behind the building, rounding the corner and soon their eyes landed on the gazebo before them. The two blondes, one tall and one short, immediately stopped in their tracks and stared at the person from afar.
Natsuki's emerald eyes lit up in recognition of the voice. "It truly is [Y/n]-chan!"
"Ssh! Not so loud, Natsuki!" Syo instantly scolded the taller male in a hushed voice. "You don't want to ruin her performance, do you?"
"Sorry, Syo-chan..." Natsuki rubbed his head apologetically.
The two didn't exchange words after. They stayed silent and focused on listening to [Y/n]'s singing. Syo and Natsuki once heard the [h/c]ette sing before, and the first time that they did, they were enthralled by her delicate song and gentle voice.
Syo's blue hues softened as he gazed at the girl's back, watching her from the shadows. He leaned on the wall with his arms crossed, deciding to close his eyes in order to feel the emotions even better.
As for the tall, glasses-wearing blonde, he had his hands clasped together in front of his chest. A genuine smile sported his lips, along with gentle gem-colored orbs filled with excitement.
'Lonely mayotta nara
Try again nando datte
Yarinaosu koto dekiru kara
I'm here soba ni iru wa
Believing osorenaide
Shinji au koto'
"Well, well, well~ If it wasn't little kitty~" Ren purred quietly while emerging from the garden of trees.
Masato soon joined him and his sapphire eyes spotted the girl singing in the distance. His eyes widened by an inch after realizing whose silhouette was that. "It really is her..."
"Told you that it was her voice~" the blonde teased, chuckling slightly.
"Shut up. I know it's her, I'm just making sure," Masato remarked, closing his eyes in the process.
"Whatever you say, Hijirikawa," Ren shrugged and leaned on a tree.
The two decided to stick for a while and listen to the girl's singing. After all, this was their first time hearing her sing and the first time they ever heard her voice this angelic. Both males had a small smile on their faces.
'For you
Kitto kimi mo itsu no hi ka
Kono sora o toberu hazu dakara
Nando kizutsuita toshite mo
For you
Taisetsu na koto wa hitotsu
Yume miru koto
Hitomi dake wa sorasanaide ite'
A blue-haired android appeared from the other side of the garden, his face showed no emotion whatsoever. Along with him was the blonde count who looked very serious.
"I never thought that [Y/n] would be singing here," Camus stated, walking closer to hear her properly.
"I agree," Ai nodded. "Though it seems that we're not the only one who're listening while she sings. Look."
Camus's cerulean hues went from the trio of Tokiya, Otoya, and Cecil to Ren and Masato then lastly to Natsuki and Syo. The count scoffed and closed his eyes. However, he didn't appear as he was irritated, rather, he seemed to be delighted as shown by his small smile on his lips.
"Let them be. [Y/n]'s singing had the power to enchant her listeners; It's like magic."
"I can agree with that," a smile tugged the blunette's lips as well.
'Kimi ga egaku yuuki ga hora
Kakegae no nai takaramono ni kawaru yo
Ima ryoute hiroge Fly high'
"Heh~ I can't believe that I would be able to hear her sing again," Ranmaru mused, a grin etched on his face.
"You heard her sing before, Ran-Ran?" Reiji asked, catching up to the silverette who stopped a few meters away from the gazebo and stared at the person sitting on the bench.
"Yeah. Only once though."
Reiji fixated his gaze on the girl and decided to listen to her singing. The song sent warm sensations throughout both males' body and somehow, it made them happy inside. The brunette smiled and clenched his pounding heart.
"Your voice sends warmth to anyone..."
'Kitto kimi wa itsu no hi ka
Kono sora o toberu hazu dakara
Nando tsumazuita toshite mo
For You
Taisetsu na koto wa hitotsu
Yume miru koto
Kokoro dake wa tozasanaide ite'
As [Y/n] finished the last words, she heard new voices singing 'La~la~la~' in the background. Her lids shot open in surprise and saw the boys walking slowly towards the gazebo she was currently in. The [h/c]ette didn't stop, however, instead she continued to sing and hum the last part of the song.
She slowly closed her eyes again, feeling all emotions surging through her being and filled her with warmth and happiness. All 11 idols soon emitted their own warmth and it combined with her own, engulfing all of them.
At last the song has come to an end, her voice slowly died down as well as the boys. [Y/n] opened her eyelids and revealed [e/c] eyes staring back at her beloved idols' multicolored ones. She smiled brightly, blush painted her pale cheeks. All of them had smiles on their faces as well.
"For you..."

Ghostface ch1
Marvel | Starker
The only thing Peter likes about Halloween is the candy, but when his bully, Tony, starts to tease him he's ready to prove his courage. Even if that means tolerating it as Tony follows him around in a scary mask. It's not like he could really hurt him, right?

"What did you get?" Peter asked as they walked back down the steps to the sidewalk. He dug through his pumpkin shaped basket with one hand. It was only half full thanks to the number of neighbors who were shooing teenagers away this year.
"Milkyway, what did you get?" Ned answered, just as absorbed in his candy bucket.
"Kit-Kat. You wanna swap?"
"For a Kit-Kat?" Ned scoffed. "Parker, you're out of your mind."
Peter looked up from his bucket. His disappointed sigh caught in his throat as he laid eyes on a black figure standing at the corner. A long white face turned towards him and he stumbled. His body wanted to freeze, but he knew better than to show fear on Halloween.
"Pete?" Ned looked up, then at his friend. "Come on, let's cross here." He led the way, cutting between the cars slowly rolling along, carrying the little kids who can't walk as far.
On the other side of the street, Peter took a breath. "I don't get why anyone likes scary stuff."
Ned shrugged. "Some of it's cool."
"They could at least wait until the little kids go home. They're gonna make somebody cry." Ned glanced at him and Peter rolled his eyes. "I'm not that scared."
"Just let me know when you're ready to go home. I don't mind leaving early."
"I'm fine, Ned. Seriously."
They carried on up the street, stopping at a few houses. Eventually the street grew dark as people turned out their porch lights signaling a lack of candy. The crowd thinned along with it as people went home or tried other neighborhoods.
"Should we head out?" Ned asked.
"My basket's not even full," Peter complained. The sound of a shuffling step behind him made his hair stand on end. He looked back and there was the guy in the white mask. Peter swallowed and quickly faced forward. It was just a mask. Nothing to be afraid of.
"Let's cut over a few streets and see if we can find something," Peter suggested. Ned followed his lead. They turned to the left and carried on. Lights in the distance gave them hope as they marched along. It was only when Peter let his guard down that something jumped out from the shadows between houses.
Peter screamed. He held onto his basket but the jolt sent some of the candy flying out. Ned reached a hand out for him, but Peter stood frozen as the man in the mask looked at him. Then the asshole broke out in laughter, doubling over.
He took the mask off and looked at him, grinning.
"Tony, what the fuck!" Ned protested. "That's not cool, man."
Tony only had eyes for Peter and his beet red face. "You should have seen yourself, Peter. You're not afraid of this thing are you?" He held up the mask.
"You jumped out at me, asshole."
"So you're not scared then?" He smirked.
"No! I'm not a baby." Peter glared back at him.
Tony's grin was cruel. "Well then, let's fill up your little basket. I know a spot." He turned away, not giving him the chance to argue, though Ned tried anyway.
"Uh, we were actually about to pack it in for the night," Ned said.
"Just come on." Peter nudged him as they followed behind. Tony turned and winked at him before slipping the mask back on.
They passed a couple of streets, headed to where the houses were bigger and the decorations more ornate. Peter watched with dread as the house that haunted his nightmares came into view.
He'd seen it from the back of May's car several times. It always made him shudder. Fog machines cloaked the yard, but the shine of green lights cut through to light a path up to the door. The property was fenced in, hiding most of the decorations, but Peter could see things moving just over the top of it. A couple of kids still lingered in the area and he could hear screaming coming from the other side of the fence.
"They've got full sized bars if you can make it to the porch. That's if you can," Tony teased.
"Of course I can," Peter said, but it didn't sound convincing.
"All by yourself?" Tony tipped his head at Ned.
"Come on, man," Ned huffed. "This is fucked up."
Tony shrugged. "It's just some stupid plastic decorations. It's not like he's gonna get hurt."
"Yeah..." Peter said.
"Perfect. I'll meet you there." Tony took off through the gate without another word.
"Peter don't." Ned grabbed his arm before he could follow. "Let's just go home."
"No way. I can do this. Besides, Tony bullies me enough at school. I'm not giving him another excuse."
"I hate to be that guy, but when he hears you scream, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, like a little bitch, he's gonna have an excuse."
"Oh screw you." Peter pushed past him and passed through the gate.
Inside were some hanging plastic skeletons. Their legs swayed in the breeze. Speakers played a soundtrack of rattling chains, creaking floors, and an occasional distance scream. It made even the stupid little skeletons seem a lot scarier than they should.
He passed the skeletons and rounded the corner. At the end of this row was a grim reaper with glowing red eyes and a wide grin. He stopped and stared for a moment, finding his courage, but he screamed jumping out of his skin as something grabbed him from behind. He whirled around, backing toward the grim reaper, to see Tony in his stupid mask.
"Stop doing that!"
Tony didn't say anything. He just cocked his head to the side and stood there, staring.
"Are you coming or what?" Peter asked. Tony still didn't answer. Behind him, the grim reaper began to laugh. He turned back around, startled, but when he looked back for Tony he was gone.
Peter rolled his eyes and carried on, though he walked as far from the grim reaper as he could. He could feel Tony watching him somewhere outside the maze. The panicked urge to find him distracted him from the decorations until he finally made it to the porch. He expected Tony to come out and taunt him for being a baby about a stupid Halloween maze, but he just let him get his candy bar from a lady dressed like a witch before heading back into the maze.
Peter took a deep breath. At least going back couldn't be as scary. Or that's what he thought until he was grabbed again. This time a hand grabbed his neck and something touched his stomach. He looked down and felt his body go cold at the sight of a large kitchen knife against his body.
"Tony?" he whimpered. This was too far. It didn't feel like a game anymore.
The hand around his neck squeezed while the knife against his stomach slid slowly down to his waist, over the band of his pants, and down his thigh. Through the thin fabric of his costume, he could feel the edge of the blade as if the material weren't even there.
"Please," he whimpered. Tony grunted, pulling him backward against his chest. Out of the corner of his eye could see that awful mask looming.
"Scared, Petey? Afraid I might hurt you?" He dug the tip of the knife into the seam of his costume. There was the tiniest bit of pain, but he was so scared he wanted to scream.
"Please don't hurt me, please."
"Tell me. Admit it."
"Yes- I'm scared! Tony please, I'm scared! Let me go!"
The confession only made him tremble harder and the tears fell from his eyes. Tony let go of his neck and ripped the mask off his face, but he grabbed him again before he could even think to move. Peter shuddered as his tongue touched the skin of his shoulder and ran all the way up to his chin. He ran the knife back up, the tip running over his crotch, finding his tummy and slipping under his shirt.
"Please don't hurt me!" He pleaded. The knife dug in just a hair. "Please- please stop!"
Tony laughed darkly in his ear. "It's only Halloween, Peter. Don't be so dramatic." He took the knife away and let go of his throat. Then he shoved him forward into the grass.
Peter half crawled, half ran, until he was back on his feet. He ran back through the maze, all of those glowing eyes adding to his nausea until he was back out on the street.

There is something special about springtime in New York. Kaycee insists everyone should experience it at least once. She was now living through her eighth and found it every bit as magical as her first. Perhaps that's why her eyes were fixed on the window as she patiently waited, perched anxiously on the edge of her chair. There was so much to keep her mind occupied. Children in fancy prep-school uniforms skipped beside their harried nannies, who scolded them not to run ahead. Tourists, with perpetually lost expressions, had their cameras at the ready, and who could blame them? There wasn't a thing surrounding them that anyone would want to forget. Then there were the young lovers, strolling hand in hand, so enraptured with each other that they never even stopped to marvel at the blooming fields that turned Central Park into a masterpiece that no artist could ever replicate. Yes, New York in the spring delivered pure magic, and she never took that for granted.
She was relieved when she received his text earlier that day. Work was more chaotic than usual. Knowing he was running even later than her brought her a little relief. Just a little.
I called Gabriel's they're still holding our reservation. When you get there, order a bottle of wine. You always had exquisite taste, so I trust you. And it's on me, don't spare me any expense.
She watched closely as the well-bedecked waiter poured her glass of Vérité La Muse Merlot, a crafty smile tugging at her lips. He hadn't arrived yet, but she could already hear him….
I said spare no expense, but I didn't think you'd bleed me dry!
She'd tease that their next bottle would be the Château Lafite Rothschild Pauillac Bordeaux, three times the price. But maybe not... knowing him? He'd order it on the spot.
She mindlessly swirled the garnet liquor in its decadent crystal chalice, enjoying its fragrant aroma before eagerly welcoming the glass to her lips. The tension left her shoulders as the smile on her face grew.
"I take it meets your approval," the waiter beamed.
"More than," Kaycee replied, suddenly grateful he had picked the venue. It seemed like overkill when he mentioned it. After all, she was more of a burger and beer at The Perfect Pint woman herself, but right now… she hadn't a single complaint.
She heard his voice before she saw him, and she downed her remaining wine in a most unladylike manner. Her stomach was in knots, though she couldn't say why, especially after she turned and saw that once-familiar smile light up the room. It was funny how time and distance could melt away with one glance.
"MacClennan!" Tobias gushed. "Get the hell over here and give me a hug!"
"Oh my God, look at you!" She beamed, clenching him in a warm embrace. "I swear you haven't changed a bit!"
"Well, you have!" He insisted, dramatically walking around her for effect. "How is it you get younger with every passing year?"
"You know, those pathetic lines may work on most women, Tobias…."
"But you've never been most women," he laughed.
The two old friends took to their seats and began chatting away like old times. It had been a good six years since they exchanged more than a brief greeting on their birthdays and a card at Christmastime, and though there was much to catch up on, it was as if they didn't miss a beat.
"I hear you were seeing someone!"
"Yes, was… past tense."
"I heard you got married?"
"And divorced… but you already knew that, didn't you?"
"Of course I did!"
"I read your research on genetically engineering cells… it was brilliant!"
"I’d love to say I was surprised with how you’ve made your team world-renowned, but that would be a lie.”
The conversation flowed so freely, so pleasantly... it felt like home, and Kaycee wondered why she was ever apprehensive about the evening. She questioned her choice to keep Tobias at arms-length some six years before. But as the evening moved on and the topics of conversation dwindled, the reason was clear. The eight-thousand-pound elephant in the room that the two had eloquently managed to sidestep was suddenly standing before them, demanding to be seen. It was Kaycee who relented first.
“So, how is Ethan?” She asked softly, a tone so low Tobias may have missed it if he hadn't been waiting for her to ask all night.
“He’s good,” Tobias assured, preparing to recite the canned reply he planned just for this occasion. “He’s doing just….”
But the evening had been too pleasant, his joy at seeing his old friend too genuine to mar the night with a lie.
“He’s Ethan… Kaycee. He’s Ethan.”
Her lip twitched, and she quickly grabbed her wine, a quick reflex that would provide a cover until she could think of more to say.
“I… I was hoping maybe he’d join you. Is he in town as well?”
“No, no… I’m the only one representing the team. He decided to sit this one out.”
“Oh,” she replied sadly. “Well, I’m not surprised. Pediatrics isn’t his field. In fact, I was surprised you were attending.”
“Well, unfortunately, we’re seeing more and more young patients, and we need to expand our knowledge. We hope to add two pediatric specialists to the team by year's end, but it never hurts to learn more.”
“Oh, I might know someone by the name of Dr. Trinh who would make a marvelous addition to the team, not that I’m trying to influence you!”
“Trust me, I’ve already floated her name. We all know she’d be perfect, except….”
He tried to stop that last word, but it came a second too late.
“Except?” Kaycee arched her brow, already knowing the answer she'd receive.
Tobias leaned back with a sigh and ran a hand down his face.
“It’s still hard for him to be around… people or things… that he associates with you. I know it may sound ridiculous, but....”
“No,” Kaycee said, pouring the remaining wine into her glass. “It doesn’t sound ridiculous at all. Of course, some of us had to learn to live with it because… everything reminds me of him….” she trailed. “But that’s unimportant. I don’t think he’d be foolish enough to let the best doctor for the position go or to deny her the opportunity… just because of... me.”
Tobias studied Kaycee carefully, and while she did a better job hiding it than his best friend back in Boston, he could still see that familiar pain in her eyes.
“No. When push comes to shove, he will always do what’s best for the team. But, it won’t be easy.”
For the first time that night, an uncomfortable silence fell between them, and he gave her the time she needed. Her eyes were fixed on the silverware she was fidgeting with, and Tobias was already composing the tongue-lashing he intended to give Ethan in his mind.
“You know… I owe you an apology,” she finally spoke.
“Me?” He marveled. “What for?”
“For blowing you off,” she faltered. “You know, not in the way most women blow you off,” she teased, desperate for any form of levity. “But… seriously… how can I criticize Ethan for doing the very things I’ve done. I limited our friendship to the occasional nicety because… it was just too hard to be around you. It reminded me of a different time, a wonderful time, but… whoever said ‘time heals’ is a liar."
“Kaycee,” whispered. “I’ll never understand how the two of you have allowed so much time to linger... so much pain… when it’s unnecessary.”
“Is it, though?” She asked defensively. “Is it? When I think back to when my residency was ending… Tobias, there was nothing I wouldn’t have given for him. I loved him… I loved him so much… I would have done anything to stay together, but he, he wasn't willing to give anything at all. What choice did I have? And I’ve tried… I’ve tried to move on. I’ve built a phenomenal career, and I have a good life here. I love New York, and I’m happy. But when it comes to love… everyone is still second to him. They’re second to a ghost, so in time we both end up hurt, and it’s not fair. When my last relationship ended, I decided not to even try anymore. It was three years, Tobias… three intoxicating, extraordinary, tumultuous years. We've lived almost three times that amount since I left Boston, and still… I can’t let go. I’ve just accepted that this is how it will always be.”
Tobias tossed his napkin on the table with a sigh. “Ah, Kaycee… You know… you deserve more. You really do.”
“We both do,” she smiled sadly.
“Have you ever tried reaching out to him? At all?”
“I ran into him at a convention or two. We exchanged polite greetings after we failed at doing our best to avoid each other, but nothing more than that.”
“Why don’t you try?”
“Tobias. Did you ask him to come to this conference with you? And don’t lie to me. I can tell when you lie.”
“No, you can’t,” he smirked.
“Try me.”
“Yes. I asked him.”
“And he declined... he declined because he didn’t want to risk seeing me. In a city of eight million people, the risk of running into me was too great… so he declined. Am I right?”
“You are,” he whispered with a sad smile.
“Trust me, Tobias. Any man who goes to those lengths to avoid me doesn’t want my call.”
Tobias reached over and gave her hand a supportive squeeze as they tried to move the conversation along. Despite the melancholy mood the evening had taken on, they were still happy to have spent time together. Tobias walked Kaycee to her door and shared a long hug before bidding her good night.
“I can’t tell you what to do, but I’d love it if we didn’t let another six years slip by before doing this again.”
“I couldn’t agree more,” she grinned. “So, you’ll just have to come to New York…”
“… or you can come o Boston….”
"Oh, Tobias," Kaycee said, gently touching his cheek. "You know damn well that Boston only has around 650,000 people... and it's the scene of the crime."
"Then I’ll just have to make a point of coming to New York more often,” he grinned. “It was great seeing you.”
“It was great seeing you, too.”
Without any place to go, Tobias lingered in front of Kaycee’s building, his eyes trailing her until she stepped through the elevator doors. Then he started on the five-block walk to his hotel. He wasn’t one to believe in love… not often anyway… but when it was real... when it was true... he couldn't understand how two people could let it go. He had watched his best friend live half a life for nearly a decade, and now that he knew Kaycee had been doing the same, he was filled with a sadness he didn't quite understand.
The lobby of his hotel was warm and inviting... mahogany walls, soft jazz, small groups of people engaged in convivial conversations and laughter. Given his state of mind, this was definitely more appealing than the solitary room waiting for him. He flopped back into one of the plush settees and ordered a stiff drink. He knew it was just another night for Ethan, but he felt the need to check on his friend. With a few sips of brandy under his belt, he reached into his pocket for his phone.
“Hey, Boss! How’s it going?”
“It’s going,” Ethan replied. “I should be asking you that.... how was the first day of the conference.”
“Good, it was good,” Tobias enthused. “Lots of information, and it left me confident of one thing.”
“Yeah, what’s that?”
“We need to bring on the pros. Sure, we should broaden our own knowledge, but I say we move ahead and hire some peds for our team. We’re getting too many kids lately, Ethan… and neither of us enjoys it when we fail them. I think it would improve our outcomes.”
“I couldn’t agree more,” Ethan replied.
“Good! I say we put the search into high swing.”
“I’m a step ahead of you," Ethan countered. "I spent the night speaking with… with Dr. Trinh.”
“Oh,” Tobias’s eyes widened. “Did you? You know I’ve made no secret about it… she’d be the best person for the job.”
“You're right,” Ethan sighed. “And she can be quite persuasive, too.”
“That’s an understatement,” Tobias laughed. “So, did she convince you to let her be our new team member?”
“She did. I told her the job is hers if she wants it… and I think she wants it.”
“Excellent!” Tobias grinned, grateful that something left him feeling a little better. “If I had known she could be this persuasive, I would have utilized her sooner!”
“Yeah,” Ethan laughed. “You have no idea how persuasive she could be.”
“Oh, is there more?”
“There is.”
“OK, stop being so cryptic, buddy. You going to fill me in or what?”
“I could,” Ethan swallowed. “But it's not a conversation to have on the phone. Why don’t you come join me at the bar, and I’ll tell you the rest.”
“That would be great, Ethan… but in case you’ve forgotten, I’m an hour and a half plane ride away.”
“Tobias... turn around.”
Stupified, Tobias stood up and glanced around the room, his phone still at his ear when a goofy grin lit up his face.
“So, you’re in New York?” He spoke into the mouthpiece. “Is it for the conference?”
Ethan shook his head with a smirk.
"Why don't you hang up and join me.”

Confident (Geto Suguru x Yuuta Okkotsu)
Contains: Size difference, getting aroused from sparring, first time giving oral, teacher-student relationship, AU.
Day 13 of Kinktober: Size difference. SO last night I saw the Era's Tour movie in theaters with a coworker, which lead to me writing the majority of this at 4am. I didn't intend for it to be so long but I got a bit too into just how much I enjoy writing them together. I was going to have Yuuta fuck Geto instead but I got carried away and wanted to still be able to post today. Hopefully it's good! Crossposted to Ao3 under the same name and shared to twt at kenjakusbrain. Comment or reblog if you enjoy!
Hand to hand combat wasn’t something Yuuta excelled in, but he had come a long way. Fighting with Maki had gotten him pretty far, especially considering her range of weaponry compared to his reliance on a sword. As his training continued and Yuuta grew stronger, it became obvious that while he still regularly lost to Maki hand to hand, that they were unable to learn much more by doing the same spars over and over again.
Which is what had led to even more of Yuuta’s training being with Geto. Geto already was the best teacher for hand to hand combat, so he was the obvious choice for Yuuta. Even if they hadn’t already spent the majority of their time together. With how often Geto accompanied Yuuta on missions and how much time he spent helping Yuuta master his cursed technique, you’d assume he was the teen’s teacher and not Gojo.
The strange couple didn’t mind spending even more time together, and Geto’s genuine care for Yuuta’s growth as a sorcerer and a man certainly helped. The secret nature of their budding relationship was something that neither of them minded, Yuuta was too shy to even consider saying anything to his classmates.
It was a quiet evening as they sparred, the cool air comforting on their flushed skin as Yuuta’s sword clashed against Playful Cloud. Normally they met in the mornings, but Yuuta had to go on a short mission earlier and missed his time with Geto. Going on the earlier mission had made Yuuta miss the one he’d intended to go on with his classmates, so instead of wasting time alone, he’d asked Geto if the man would want to try and make up for their morning lesson.
Wrapping Playful cloud around the end of Yuuta’s sword, Geto used the teen’s momentum to throw him onto the ground, ripping the weapon from his hands. Yuuta had gotten better, not needing to manifest Rika in order to keep up with Geto. That didn’t mean he had learned everything though, Geto’s skill at hand to hand combat was unmatched by anyone at the school.
“You’re doing so well Yuuta, even then you rely on your sword far too much. What would you do if someone was able to disarm you?” Geto asked, squatting next to Yuuta who laid where he landed on his back. It invigorated Geto to be able to train Yuuta like this, as much as he longed to embrace and comfort the teen, being able to challenge him was exciting.
Yuuta stared up at Geto, almost in awe of the man’s beauty. This happened every now and then when they trained like this. Geto would get this glow about him, as if he were truly enjoying himself. His long dark hair pulled back more than normal in a messy ponytail, strands escaping under the constant movement and framing his face.
Geto had stripped off his outer layer, choosing to wear a tight fitting white t-shirt. Though the heat wasn’t as bad with evening falling and the sun dipping behind the treeline, it was still hotter than he’d like it to be. It was harder for Yuuta to focus on fighting entirely, he was embarrassed to admit. The way Geto’s muscles looked even beneath his shirt almost too much for Yuuta. If he hadn’t been fighting Yuuta would be watching from somewhere more secret so that he could commit the sight to memory.
“I’d use my technique and get my sword back,” Yuuta knew this was the wrong answer as he said it. He loved getting praised by Geto, but at times like this he was more interested in pushing the man’s buttons to get a rise out of him.
Tossing both of their weapons to the side, Geto stood, looming above the teen. “If you were unable to use your technique, what would you do?”
Yuuta crawled to his knees, standing slowly in front of Geto. He was being more dramatic than usual, it seemed missing their session this morning and going on a mission alone had made him a little clingier than usual. Stepping into Geto’s personal space, Yuuta looked up, a look of oddly placed determination on his face.
It was sometimes hard for Geto to take Yuuta seriously during these moments, as eye level for the teen was at his collarbone. Geto knew size didn’t matter in terms of strength, Yuuta was a very powerful sorcerer. It was just hard to take him seriously when his frame was so much smaller than Geto’s.
Along with their height difference, Yuuta lacked the muscle definition Geto had. He was growing stronger, at some point he may catch up to Geto, but Yuuta’s more lithe frame added to their size difference. Geto doubted that Yuuta had much more growth left in him, maybe another inch of height if he were lucky, but he found every aspect about Yuuta endearing.
Without warning, Yuuta threw a hard punch at Geto’s jaw. Unfortunately for the teen, Geto was faster, catching Yuuta’s fist before it came into contact. Using the force behind Yuuta’s punch, Geto spun the teen around and twisted his arm behind his back.
A sharp gasp left Yuuta as he was manhandled, the near pain shooting up his arm. This didn’t discourage him. The feeling of Geto’s strong body against his back willed the teen to move on autopilot. They’d been this close many times in and out of sparring, but Yuuta had an idea. He was nowhere near as acrobatic as Maki, but that didn’t mean he didn’t learn anything from her.
He knew Geto wouldn’t actually hurt him, or at least he was betting that the man wouldn’t. Yuuta jumped, using his own body weight and the leverage his bent arm afforded him to turn himself nearly upside down, hooking his knees on Geto’s shoulders. Yuuta could have used the position to break Geto’s neck, but instead of squeezing his thighs together, he let himself hang in an attempt to flip him over.
It all happened so fast, Geto barely registered Yuuta jumping before he let go of his arm. Not wanting to chance breaking a bone or dislocating anything. Bringing his hands up to support the shifting body, Geto’s hands gripped Yuuta’s hips tightly. Geto’s grip didn’t deter Yuuta, even if he couldn’t flip the man he still felt like he’d done something unexpected. Digging his fingers into Geto’s hair, Yuuta pulled himself into a sitting position, looking down on the man for once.
Whether it be the angle or just something about tonight, the gleam Geto saw in Yuuta’s eyes was one he wasn’t sure he'd’ seen before. The bright determination and condescending look of triumph was etched onto Yuuta’s face, as if he’d won their whole sparring match just by getting out of one hold and hanging off of Geto.
“You think climbing me will help you train? Are you going to just wrap your legs around any enemy or am I special?” Geto teased, using his hold on Yuuta’s hips to pull the teen away from his shoulders.Yuuta didn’t fight back, allowing his legs to unwrap from Geto’s shoulders.
As Geto moved to place Yuuta on the ground, the teen surged forward and knocked them both over. Geto was strong enough to take Yuuta’s attack, but the awkwardness of the way he was holding Yuuta threw his balance off.
Once they were both on the ground, Yuuta quickly moved to pin Geto’s arms above his head, causing him to straddle the man’s stomach. Geto once again noticed the look on Yuuta’s face, while there was a hint of playfulness to it, he also noted the determined look shining through his eyes.
“I may not be able to subdue you yet, but with more practice it’ll be easier to get you on the ground like this,” Yuuta said, his voice more confident than Geto had ever heard. It wasn’t that Yuuta wasn’t ever confident, but it was very rare that Yuuta was this forward outside of battle.
Geto laughed, Yuuta’s words brought a smile to his face. The fact that he was so determined to get better for something as simple as ‘getting him on the ground’ instead of any actual fighting as a sorcerer amused him greatly.
The other thing Geto found amusing was something he didn’t think Yuuta had even noticed yet. Geto could feel Yuuta’s half hard cock pressing up against his stomach. Yuuta’s height didn’t allow for him to properly straddle Geto’s hips, forcing the teen to sit on his stomach in order to pin his arms. It seemed that Yuuta enjoyed their fighting more than he had let on.
“If you wanted to get on top of me all you had to do was ask, I’ll gladly let you take charge,” Geto’s words had turned suggestive, the mood changing inside of him the moment he felt Yuuta’s cock pressing up against him. Geto had always gotten turned on or at least mildly aroused from fighting with an attractive opponent, so it satisfied him greatly to feel Yuuta reacting the same way.
Though he wasn’t sure how much training they would get done if they continued to acknowledge their shared arousal. Geto supposed it was a good thing they discovered this on a day where Yuuta’s classmates were on a mission and no one else was around to observe. Shifting his hips, Geto pressed himself up into Yuuta, pulling a small sound from him.
Yuuta had been too focused on getting Geto on the ground that he hadn’t been paying too much attention to himself. As soon as Geto pressed up against him he felt the pleasure of his cock rubbing up against Geto’s stomach. A flush covered his cheeks, he had never had this reaction to sparring before, even in his other fights with Geto. Yuuta was more shocked than embarrassed, feeling like he had blindsided Geto.
Geto could feel Yuuta freezing up on top of him, he knew the teen could get embarrassed easily.
“Hey it’s okay, the rush of fighting especially when you’re attracted to your partner can do that, it happens to me too. Don’t worry we’re alone now and I’m sure we have nothing to stop us for a while if you want another kind of hand to hand,” Geto whispered, lowering his voice to reassure Yuuta that everything was okay. It didn’t matter too much to Geto if they finished their lesson or if they let this go further, he just wanted Yuuta to be comfortable.
It was like Geto always knew just the right words to make Yuuta feel at ease. His classmates and Gojo were away, all training was generally done way earlier in the day, and if he knew anything about Geto, he had a few curses watching the more treaded paths so they’d know if anyone approached.
Yuuta leaned down and pressed a kiss to Geto’s lips, the kiss betrayed how he was really feeling. Though he had been embarrassed for a moment, the rush he’d gotten from pinning Geto hadn’t gone away. Yuuta kissed Geto with a passion and intensity he was rarely able to set himself. Tongue tracing along Geto’s lips to gain entrance with every press of lips.
Geto could feel Yuuta growing more confident with each kiss, he didn’t hesitate to open his mouth to the teen, allowing their kiss to grow more heated. Yuuta’s confidence increased when he felt Geto arch up into him again. The passion flowing through Yuuta’s body at the moment was unlike anything he’d felt before.
It didn’t take too long for Yuuta to start grinding into Geto’s abdomen, everything feeling too good to not indulge in that pleasure. Geto was transfixed by Yuuta’s movements on top of him. The teen had been eager before too, even excited, but he’d never seen him so forceful. Geto wanted nothing more in that moment than to grind his hips into Yuuta’s, so they both could feel that rush of pleasure.
Geto attempted to free his hands, wanting to touch and move Yuuta, but he had other ideas. Yuuta’s grip was unrelenting, pressing Geto’s hands down more forcefully. Control wasn’t something he was willing to give up tonight, Yuuta wanted to show how strong he was to Geto. He wanted to be the one to give Geto pleasure, instead of Geto always making sure Yuuta was satisfied and ignoring his own needs.
All it took was the confidence Yuuta hadn’t expected to gain so suddenly.
The kiss deepened with Yuuta’s refusal to let Geto’s hands free, his tongue in Geto’s mouth less inquisitive and more trying to show Geto just how much he wanted him. Yuuta had never felt this strongly before about what he wanted to do to Geto. Pulling away from Geto suddenly left them both breathing heavily from the intensity of the kiss. Looking down into Geto’s lust filled eyes, Yuuta knew what he wanted more than he was sure of anything else at that moment.
“I’ll take care of you tonight, there’s something I’ve been wanting to try and having you on your back is the perfect chance,” Yuuta said, his voice a half whisper as he tried to keep it down and quell his excitement at the same time. They had been intimate before, but Yuuta’s confidence was often overshadowed by just how dizzy Geto made him feel when they touched. So to have a moment of clarity where he was able to try and make Geto feel the same pleasure, Yuuta knew he needed to take it.
Yuuta didn’t give Geto a chance to respond, quickly letting go of Geto’s hands and maneuvering himself to slip between Geto’s thighs. He wasted no time cupping the hard cock that was hiding behind the soft, baggy pants Geto usually wore when they trained.
Geto was too stunned to speak, his arms still up by his head where Yuuta had pressed them into the ground. The feeling of Yuuta’s hand on his cock wasn’t a foreign one, but Yuuta’s movements were so intentional and less clumsy. It turned him on more to know that Yuuta knew just what he wanted and was willing to take it without Geto needing to lead him.
“Seeing you take control like this Yuuta, it’s almost too much. You can do whatever you want to me, I’m all yours,” Geto whispered, trying to encourage him without being too pushy. Having Yuuta take control was something he didn’t fully know he wanted, but it felt so good Geto couldn’t help but surrender.
Yuuta had always thought since Geto was much larger than him, that he was always going to be the one in control. Even if Geto had never done anything to make him feel that way, the teen just had an idea in his head that it was how things were supposed to be. The sight of having such a big, strong man on his back like this however, made Yuuta’s blood sing with desire.
Slipping his thumbs into Geto’s waistband, Yuuta pulled down the man’s pants just enough to free his aching cock. Yuuta was always surprised about how heavy Geto’s thick cock felt in his hand. That Geto was this aroused just because of his actions made Yuuta’s head spin. He wouldn’t be distracted though, not with Geto here spread out for him.
The first touch of Yuuta’s tongue to the head of Geto’s cock made Geto groan. Geto had sucked Yuuta’s cock several times, the teen loved it, but he hadn’t wanted to rush Yuuta. It seemed the wait was worth it, as Yuuta’s tongue mirrored what Geto often did when teasing Yuuta. Tracing around the head before pulling the tip fully into his mouth and sucking.
Yuuta was a fast learner, and he paid more attention to the way Geto touched him than he realized. He sucked at the head of Geto’s cock, allowing his hand to pump the thick shaft.
Slowly Yuuta took more of Geto’s cock into his mouth, bobbing his head gently to get used to the new motion. He wanted to see just how much he could take before it became too much. Watching Geto’s nose buried in his pelvis made him wonder just how far he could go.
Each pass of Yuuta’s lips over his cock was agonizingly slow for Geto. It took more effort than he’d like to admit to not thrust into Yuuta’s hot mouth. It had been so long since he’d had his cock sucked, even before his budding relationship with Yuuta began, Geto had been too focused on other things to worry about that. He’d forgotten just how good it felt to feel the warmth of his lover’s mouth.
“I don’t want to get too carried away, but fuck Yuuta you just feel so good, you’re going such a good job,” Geto whispered, trying again to encourage Yuuta. He didn’t want to rush the teen, but he knew they didn’t have time to try more things right now. Which was a shame, because the way Yuuta was acting made Geto want nothing more than to have Yuuta buried deep inside him
The praise did have its intended effect, with each bob of his head Yuuta grew more confident in his motions. Looking up through his lashes at Geto, he saw his flushed face looking down at him. The desperation on Geto’s face was something he wasn’t expecting, Yuuta had never felt so powerful while they were intimate. He wanted to make Geto feel even more pleasure.
Focusing back on the hard cock pressing against his tongue, Yuuta felt like he was ready. The head of Geto’s cock was nudging up against the back of his throat with every one of his movements, but he wanted more. Suddenly Yuuta forced himself further down on Geto’s cock.
Yuuta’s slow sucking had turned into him fucking his own face with Geto’s thick cock. It burned Yuuta’s throat to feel the head of Geto’s cock pressing so far down into his throat. Each rough thrust pushed Geto further into his mouth until Yuuta felt the dark curls at the base tickle his nose.
Geto’s hand found its way into Yuuta’s hair, not to guide but to have something to grab on to. It seemed like sorcery wasn’t the only thing Yuuta was a prodigy at. Geto could feel his arousal mounting quickly, somehow Yuuta made him feel so much more sensitive.
The cock in Yuuta’s throat throbbed as he buried his nose in the patch of curls at the base of Geto’s cock. Yuuta paused for a moment once he had Geto’s cock completely in his mouth, swallowing around the thick shaft made Geto’s body shiver.
It seemed he’d gotten ahead of himself, the thick cock too much to swallow around. Yuuta gagged, pulling himself off of Geto’s cock quickly to cough for a moment. Geto was sure it was something the teen would apologize for later, but it was cute to him that Yuuta was trying so hard just to please him.
Not deterred by his mistake, Yuuta turned his attention back to the thick cock in front of him. He had never seen Geto this hard before, he could see it twitch from arousal almost. Leaning forward Yuuta ran his tongue along the underside of it, tracing a path up to the head again before he pulled it back into his mouth.
Geto stared down in awe, Yuuta was quite the sight between his legs. The bright flush of his cheeks wasn’t a surprise to Geto, but the rosy tint to Yuuta’s lips as he watched them slide up and down his cock had him on the edge. Yuuta had never looked quite so pretty to Geto than with his lips wrapped around his cock.
Yuuta was so focused on taking in as much of Geto’s cock as he could that he didn’t see Geto staring at him. If he had he may have been able to realize just how close Geto was.
As Yuuta made his way back down Geto’s cock, his nose tickled by dark curls again, Geto came. The sudden spurting in Yuuta’s mouth startled him, but he quickly recovered from shock and returned to sucking, trying to swallow everything Geto gave him. He didn’t mind the taste, but he hadn’t expected it to be so thick and warm.
Release had hit Geto harder than he expected, his hand tightening in Yuuta’s hair as he bit down on his lip to keep any sounds in. It felt so much better than he could have ever dreamt, somehow Yuuta was always so good at making him feel good.
Yuuta continued sucking, until the hand in his hair tugged enough to urge him off. Yuuta panted as he tried to catch his breath, looking up at Geto for approval. Geto quickly tucked his cock back into his pants before sitting up and kissing Yuuta, tasting himself on the teen’s lips.
“Yuuta you did so well. You should take control more often, if we weren’t out in the open like this I’d be begging for your cock,” Geto said against Yuuta’s lips, drunk off of his orgasm but meaning every word he said.
There would be more time for them, no need to rush. Yet Geto decided to rush packing up their things in favor of getting Yuuta back to his room so he could push Yuuta’s limits without fear of being noticed. He didn’t want to leave his lover unattended.

it's been years since i made a reclist from my bookmarks, and i've trimmed down what i had and added some new things to my bookmarks, so here's a reclist, from oldest to newest bookmarks! fics beneath the cut with the original summary and my recollections/comments after. (please note that for any fics with smut, i can't comment on how the smut is, because i skip those portions.)
Tony Stark Meets an Extremely Unimpressed Time Traveler, or, Thomas Barrow Makes a Surprisingly Good 21st Century Butler by Alex51324 (87k, t, no warnings)
In which Tony Stark ditches a boring party, makes an addition to the household staff, throws a much better party, and tries not to sexually harass his new butler. Or,In which Thomas Barrow has a little trouble getting home from the pub, is generally unimpressed with many aspects of the 21st century, never thought of himself as a conservative dresser before, and may or may not be falling in lust with his new employer. tl:dr: Thanks to time travel, Thomas Barrow becomes the Avengers' butler.
my commentary: this is actually one of the earliest fics i bookmarked! i haven't been into the mcu in...........a long, long time, but i distinctly remember pulling an all-nighter to read the entire thing when i first ran across it. i'll be honest, i had clicked into it assuming it was crack, but it's not—it's played entirely earnest, and, in my recollection, does so well. and, well, what can i say; thomas was my favourite character back when downton abbey was airing (for reasons that i did not realise until much later). largely free of angst or action conflict; the issues stem largely from the conflict between thomas' biases and (mis)assumptions and the modern (well, 2010s) world.
Ain’t No Nancy Kerrigan by cleverqueen (t, 13k, no warnings)
It's 1994, and young Lisa Snart's jumps aren't strong enough for an Olympic singles skater. Thankfully, her older brother has an athletic friend who can match her in pairs. Mick Rory is hopelessly in love with Leonard Snart, though he'd never say anything about it, so he jumps at a chance to do Len's little sister a favor. If he's patient and works hard, maybe he'll even get to skate with her older brother.
my commentary: as i remember it, this fic was an absolute delight! i don't remember a lot of mick-pov fics, though i haven't............been in the dc tags in ages, let alone the cw dc tags, but it's really well-written! it's canon setting, but takes place pre-canon, and the dynamics are very well-written and enjoyable. it's even tagged "pining", which, as i remember it, applies very much so, and, well, what can i say; i have tropes i love.
and who shall wear the starry crown by consumptive_sphinx (2k, t, major character death)
Blackfoot serves Shadowclan, first and always. That is not, in fact, the same thing as serving Tigerstar.
my commentary: i think this is the only wc fanfic i have bookmarked on ao3? and deservedly so! it's a human au, and while it's short, it's so well thought out. the worldbuilding and lore that's hinted at, everything you can feel beneath the surface—so good!
The Nationwide Network of Oz by ErinPtah (3k, t, no warnings)
It's long past time Oz upgraded from the wireless telegraph.
my commentary: it's such a shame there's not a lot of oz novel fics—i truly think the series doesn't get the attention it deserves. a fun little short dorothy/ozma fic, with a dash of magitech and blogging.
Spaceships, Private Jets, and Minivans: How to Start a Global Incident in 5 Minutes Flat by Scientia_Fantasia (49k, t, no warnings)
One early summer morning in Riverside, Iowa, a spacecraft crash lands into the backyard of a highschooler by the name of James T. Kirk. Earth history is changed forever.
my commentary: i actually lost this fic for a long time and only tracked it down after a year of searching; it's a fun, teenaged star trek au—i'm usually not too fond of aus where characters are teens, but this one pulled it off very well! and it's rather funny, and the way the characters run into each other and get involved in the plot is very fun!
we make our friends, we make our enemies by ORiley42 (52k, t, no warnings)
Benji finds out he has a new neighbor. This new neighbor happens to be off-the-charts hot. Hijinks, friendship, more-than-friendship, and secret agent drama ensue.
my commentary: i actually read this from start to finish as it was updating! the author, ORiley42, is a fabulous writer, and this fic? so good. i've fallen away from the mi fandom, but i have fond memories of it, so this fic has a warm place in my heart. also, the trope of a civilian getting involved in spy bullshit? so good. and the pining. the drama.
The Long Con by harleygirl2648 (19k, t, no warnings)
There are two kinds of cons: long and short. Short cons mean short-term gain, with smaller rewards, mostly just everything you have in your pocket at that moment. Long cons mean lots of time, effort, costumes, masks, props, sets, and other characters all looking to set up the downfall of the mark and take them for all that they've got. Con Artist/Thieves AU: Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter are both interested in acquiring a Botticelli, but both of them are quite fond of each other's short games. For both of them, it's the deception and thrill of the game that's worth more than the payout. And well, after all, aren't the easiest people to scam are those who think they are smart enough to not get scammed?
my commentary: it's an art heist au, what more can i say? it's funny, well-written, and, crucially, fun.
deus ex machina by coloredink (26k, t, creator chose not to use archive warnings)
"What the hell?" said Katz. "Is that--" "Yeah, I know, it's kinda flashy." Will shut the car door behind him and patted his pockets for the little fob to lock the car. "Isn't that Hannibal Lecter's car?" The car beeped to indicate it was locked. "Yeah, I guess so." Will walked away, toward the field, Katz on his heels. "I needed a new car." "So you bought the cannibal car?" ----- You asked for it: the one where Hannibal is a murderous self-driving car.
my commentary: every time i talk about this fic, people are like. [newt geiszler voice] w—wh—whhhhattttt? and, yeah, okay, i get it, i do, but i swear to you, will graham x the luxury car possessed by hannibal lecter the cannibal's soul is, in fact, a fantastic fic. it's so well written, so funny, so novel. it's the cannibal car!
The Man Who Invented Sherlock Holmes by Calais_Reno (15k, t, no warnings)
John Watson, struggling young doctor, doomed to live an ordinary life, dreams of writing detective fiction. If he can just figure out his hero's name, the story will practically write itself.
my commentary: look. i am, at my core, a lover of experimental, weird concepts. and "john watson accidentally brings a fictional character into being and they fall in love" is, in fact, precisely something i would like. and, and, and! it's acd canon, and written in such a charming style! it is truly one of my favourite fics.
A Really Private Person by astolat (18k, m, no warnings)
The end of the world started on a Wednesday in March.
my commentary: i don't have many poi fics bookmarked, but this one is absolutely the best out of all of them. the emotions i will always associate with reading it are that of being half lucid and experiencing something just so utterly satisfying it makes you smile like a cat.
I've Got Nothing To Do Today But Smile (The Only Living Boy in New York) by gyzym (19k, t, creator chose not to use archive warnings)
Arthur's a corporate lawyer, Eames owns the coffee shop across the street, and all good love stories start with a quadruple shot latte.
my commentary: an ode to struggling out of sunk cost fallacy, finding people who love you, and slowly, slowly building a better life. also the cafe food all sound so so good i would love to eat there.
Atonement by acedott (9k, t, no warnings)
I know how lonely you must be. All by yourself in that room. Morgana’s words stuck with Gwen long after the enchantment was broken. She recognized the veiled vulnerability in her tone from years as her servant. She hadn’t sounded like that in so long; she’d trusted Gwen with her every thought since they had both come of age. But when she first arrived in Camelot, when they were brought together as mistress and servant, Morgana had not known how much to trust her. Gwen, in turn, had not known how much to trust her new mistress.
my commentary: written by the fabulous lovely wonderful @owengrose, this fic makes me feel So Many Emotions. it's written with such care and purpose, and made me cry when i first read it. read it!!!
On the Risks and Rewards of Being Seen by acedott (8k, g, no warnings)
The year is 1815. Karla Gottlieb, the lady of the Gottlieb estate, rekindles an old friendship with Vanessa Haile, the groundskeeper’s daughter.
my commentary: yes i am putting another one of my friend's fics on here, but listen: risks and rewards is just so, so good. i can't even give further commentary beyond "it's so good" because it's just that good. it's historical, it's carefully-crafted, it's lesbians! what more could you want? go forth and comment.
Of Madness and Mammals by Briarwitched (series, four works, 619k, t-m, no warnings)
this series doesn't have a summary, but more or less: alex, suffering from horrific hallucinations and trauma, is discarded by mi6 and tossed into prison—where he meets yassen once more, and, once again, yassen tries to look out for hunter's son.
my commentary: this is, in my opinion, the best set of works i've read in the alex rider fandom. it's one of the best series i've read period. it is so well-crafted, well-plotted, and well-executed. it's a shame that the fandom isn't larger, because the series deserves more attention.
Beginning Where You Are by TF Grognon (gloss) (15k, t, no warnings)
"There's no such thing as magic," Dove-Gray said. Min snorted and flexed her fingers. "Tell that to the magic bloodthirsty soulsucking sword that lives in my hand."
A disgraced scholar and well-meaning mercenary forge an unlikely partnership.
my commentary: i found this while trawling the sci-fi tag, and honestly, i'm so glad i did, because it's just so good. the worldbuilding and lore and character dynamics and every other bit of it is just. god. so good. also, one of them literally has a bloodthirsty soul-sucking sword in her hand.
You're Dead (and Outta This World) by TheOceanIsMyInkwell (10k, t, no warnings)
“Holy shit!” shouts the EMT at his side. His partner on the other side of the gurney--the other side of the body bag--follows up with a well-deserved holy fuck and stumbles backward over her boots to sag against the back of the open ambulance. “I’m fine, I’m fine, oh God, I’m sorry,” Guillermo babbles. His knees are trembling. He wriggles out of the body bag and hops to his feet, feeling like his legs are a cross between jello and underbaked macaroons, and he repeats his litany of apologies as he bounces from one foot to another to restore circulation. Pain shoots through his joints from the roots of his toes. He ignores it, instead pivoting his head from side to side wildly seeking the detritus of his phone and groceries. “Sir! Sir! You were--sir, please get back here! You were dead!” “Not today, sorry!” -- Or: 3 times Guillermo came back from the dead, and 1 time Nandor was there to see it.
my commentary: this fic preserves the horror-comedy of the show so well, and you can see poor guillermo having a longform breakdown across the fic. it's so fun.
and yet we still bloom by gdgdbaby (110k, e, graphic depictions of violence)
When the Crown Princess of Xian Le, Her Highness Xie Lian, saved a tiny street urchin from falling to her death during the nation's biggest parade, she could never have predicted that same street urchin would eventually become her greatest spymaster. Xie Lian hadn't anticipated the heavens-upending events that followed the drought either, but sometimes these things just happen. OR: Xie Lian and Hua Cheng save their country and save the world.
my commentary: i would say this is easily one of the best tgcf fics, and it fulfils so many of my desires: lesbians, fix its, slow burn, and woldbuilding/lore! i cannot recommend this enough.
rare as the glimmer by Euphorion (24k, e, no warnings)
“Do you—” Quan Yizhen started, and then on the other side of the room Pei Ming started up his jackhammer, so he waited, bouncing on the balls of his feet, and then said all in a rush, “doyouknowHuaCheng?” Xie Lian blinked. “You know—him?” she asked, in case 'San Lang' was some kind of private name, a secret code just for her. She liked the thought of that. Quan Yizhen shook his head vigorously, his curls bouncing. “No!” he said. “But Yin-ge said you were with him at Home Depot and you left together!” Xie Lian stared at him. One of the employees that had helped her a few weeks ago had been called Yin something, she was pretty sure, but that’s about as far as she could follow what was happening here. “Yizhen, if you don’t know Hua Cheng, why is this… notable?” “He’s famous. Or like. The bad one. Infamous. I thought—” His eyes gleamed. “I thought maybe you fought him.”  + Retired (read: disgraced) famous boxer Xie Lian meets a helpful stranger while at Home Depot attempting to fix her collapsing roof.
commentary: lesbians! modern aus! butch!xie lian! everything about this fic is just *chef's kiss* it makes me lose it every time. the dynamics and writing feels so true to canon, and reading it is just. so so good. i'm trying to come up with more comments and i can't, it's just. so good.
We Stan Scrap Gege! by PaidSubscription (31k, m, no warnings)
“San Lang…are you sure about this? Life on the road, storage units…it’s not glamorous. There’s junk and there’s gross fluids and roaches and raccoons and meth labs, and one time I got lead poisoning and- oh! Another time I accidentally got locked inside a unit with five families and loaded on a truck and then I think technically we were human trafficked-?” “Gege. I’m in this, all the way.”
Scrap Collector’s cancellation is inevitable. Once, Xie Lian was the most popular face in reality TV. After the...incident, Xie Lian is banished to 2am cable, and turns to making a different kind of show: storage hunting. But in his final season, he suddenly acquires a new producer: a Youtube star named San Lang. And San Lang- along with his legion of fans- is determined to save the show. 📺🎥💕
my commentary: this concept is both utterly batshit, and weirdly sensible for the characters? i loved the interspersing of social media format between the prose, and the dynamics between all the characters, especially hualian, are so on-point!
Knowing Only This by CatMouse (dioscuridevotio) (31k, m, no warnings)
Bai Yutong is handling it. Ever since he was fifteen years old and realized that the horrible, sickening, aching feeling he got in his chest whenever he looked at his best friend wasn't a sign of early heart failure but instead a warning of something much worse, he's been handling it perfectly fine. With full maturity and dignity. He's the head of SCI. He's the best cop of his generation. He's the pinnacle of self-control and an expert at compartmentalization. But sometimes—Sometimes Zhan Yao doesn't make it easy. In fact, it's times like these he's convinced Zhan Yao is determined to make his life as difficult as humanly possible.
my commentary: a wild sci fic emerges! poor bai yutong is going through trials and tribulations of being in love, and it's so so fun to read. i laughed and gasped and was on the edge of my seat while reading (well, metaphorically; i was laying in bed). it's just very very good.
codify my wasted youth by lungache (6k, t, no warnings)
“We're way too caught up in the race with time It's getting hard to take it in We're tryin hard to be the first in line Just wanna be a kid again, a kid again”
An Origin Story “We should start a band!” “Holy shit, we should totally start a band!”
my commentary: the fabulous @lungache wrote a marvelous band!au, and i wish i could eat it like a fine dessert. why does it only have ten comments. it deserves so much more. read it. comment on it. now. that is not a suggestion.
The Tiniest Heipaoshi by tehfanglyfish (6k, t, no warnings)
Jiajia was already handling a good number of Professor Shen's lectures and labs, fielding office hour questions, and all of his online correspondence. Why not add a few more responsibilities into the mix? It wasn’t like she needed to sleep. OR The one where Jiajia impersonates the Envoy.
my commentary: i'll admit, i don't go here, so i can't give a fully accurate commentary, but i stumbled across this somehow (perhaps someone else's rec list? who knows) and the few chapters of the novel plus the episode or two of the show i watched gave me just enough knowledge to enjoy this fic. and, anyway, the concept of "exhausted TA pretends to be a terrifying non-human political entity" is, in my opinion, universally appreciable.
I Love You (I Want Us Both To Eat Well) by freakesque (6k, m, creator chose not to use archive warnings)
In which Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan take it upon themselves to make sure Xue Yang eats regularly, and Xue Yang finds out he’s actually not a twink.
my commentary: @xueyang's fanfic which i got to cheer them through writing and then read; it's so so good. it will make you Feel Things and Have Emotions. read it. now.
And the gentleness that comes, not from the absence of violence, but despite the abundance of it by lucientelrunya (39k, m, graphic depictions of violence)
It's him. It’s really him. For a moment Zhang Rishan looks up from his phone again, letting his gaze wander over the pool and then the shoreline behind it. There is still no trace of the merperson, but he had come to save Zhang Rishan. Again. He smiles to himself. So he is still here, still saving drowning people. That means Zhang Rishan can start step two of his plan. To the humans who hire him, Zhang Rishan is a proficient hunter, one of the best to hunt the rare magical creatures, the yaoren. To Ba Ye, Zhang Rishan is a stranger, a poor human he saves from drowning, not a hunter that has been tasked with catching him. Their meeting will change them both and alter the course of both of their lives drastically.
my commentary: am i using this rec list to recommend my friends' writing? perhaps. but also, this fic is just so good! the worldbuilding and dynamics.................so so fun. and it gave me the perfect excuse to dabble in conlangs again. also i regularly think about the mer lore, so. @lucientelrunya did a fabulous job here and i WILL make you hear about it.
Confidence Trick by duty_free (21k, e, creator chose not to use archive warnings)
"Your umma was going to die instead of you," Jae Ho said as one of his guys dragged Hyun Soo out of bed. Another guy stood waiting by the door, his back to them, looking down the corridor and smoking silently. "But it's smarter to kill you." He gestured at Hyun Soo. "So here we are."
my commentary: yes, i'll admit it, i watched the film and then immediately went looking for fics because the ending killed me. this one soothes those wounds at least partly; i like how it keeps the fucked up elements of their relationship while also still having them, well, fall in love trust. and it's such an interesting canon divergence concept, one that i think is executed excellently.
alright, that's everything, for now, anyway! i hope you can find something on this list you're interested in!

Tumblr media
At first Jake wasn't sure if he should let you stay with them, but he felt like it was a good option. You had suffered a lot with humans, you needed a time away from them. Also you were an orphan, you had no one, you were alone. He talked about it with Neytiri, she wasn't sure since you were human, a vey damaged human, but she finally accepted. She knew how humans were, they could be cruel towards others and to their own kind. A child was more weak than an adult. Yes you were nineteen, but still a child, a child who suffered during your teen years.
When Jake and Neytiri had talked to their other kids about your situation, they were told to take it easy with you. Since they don't want to cause you any distress or to trigger something in you. When you had arrived to their tent, you felt a bit nervous upon meeting the whole family. You didn't know if they had good intentions or if they planned on killing you later, so you kept your guard. Wishing you had your blade with you just in case.
Kiri was the person you had trusted a bit, she was the one who helped you instead of trying to kill you. She was the one to introduce you to her brothers and sister. Their names were Neteyam, Lo'ak and Tuk. You didn't really see Tuk much of a threat, she was innocent and pure. She was the girl you once were before the fire. During your time with the family, you got to know them more. Even though they were giant, blue space cats they were just a regular family, they were something that you had before.
At first you were somewhat cold and harsh, you didn't know how to react since you never really have been around nice people, except for your nanny. Majority of the people you were around were sadists and bastards who enjoyed indulging pain on others. You'd often get defensive at times, but seen that they only wanted to help you and get to know you more, you had stopped being cold and harsh. You had returned kindness, you began to open up more and talked more.
They wanted to introduce you to Spider, but Jake had them that it wouldn't be the right time at the moment, later on but not right now. You had also talked about your family before the accident, how your father was photographer, your mother being a house wife and your older sister who was loving. Your family would have been considered to be a nuclear family. You also had mentioned them about Wonderland and how it was your happy place on your time during the Asylum, they didn't really understand it, but they listened and didn't question it. They were learning more about humans through you. How others can pretty much damage one another, it was horrible knowing this kinds of things and they understood why their mother did not like humans, but luckily they met nice humans, people who were loyal to the na'vi.
When it came to sleeping, you didn't think you'd be able to sleep, most nights you weren't able to sleep due to your guilt, but to your surprise you had slept like you hadn't in a long time. You actually manage to sleep well and not wake up screaming like you had lost your head. It was refreshing.
Tumblr media
During your time with the Sullys, they had taught you things about the clan and the forest. They had to teach you the language so that you'd be able to communicate with others. It was hard at first, but as time went by the na'vi language had now been engraved in your head that it sounded like English. Besides learning their language, the eldest son, Neteyam taught you how to defend yourself. You knew how to weld a knife, a pepper grinder, a hobby horse and a teapot canon, but your weapons were not available. He also told you about the direhorse and ikrans, as well as what Rites to Passage work and such.
After a while, you had finally met Spider, he was also an orphan kid who lived with some scientists who were left behind. The Sullys had told you about the war between human and Na'vi, it seemed about right how the Na'vi basically showed humanity that they'd never be tamed or enslaved. You were also introduced you Kiri's mother's avatar, no one knew who the father was, her birth was a mystery from the start. It was really nice being in a place where not everything wants to kill you, well except for wild animals but that was a different story.
Tumblr media
Then your powers had began to appear, one morning you had woken up, but this time it was different. You tattered white and back dress had been replaced with that sky blue dress with a white apron with the Eris and Jupiter symbols. No blood on the apron. Your black stocking and black shoes had been replaced with the black and white stocking along with your black leather boot. Your hair was now silkier and long, when you got a hold of a makeshift mirror you seemed more healthier then the first time you've arrive. Not to mention the makeup you wore, dark eyeshadow and red tinted lips. You couldn't explain why or how it happened, it just did.
Not only that, but your abilities from Wonderland came in as well. Your shrinking, floating, butterfly dodge, gigantic and not forgetting Hysteria. The Sully kids had witnessed all of those, expect for Hysteria, that ability you did not want for them to see, it was a dangerous kind of rage you didn't to come out no matter what.
The ability they witnessed was the butterfly dodge, you and the kids were walking exploring around Pandora. You had nearly fallen off one of the floating islands, so as a way to avoid falling to your death, you had turned into a punch of butterflies and flew back up to where the other were. You could not explain how you were still able to do that, when kids asked about how you did that, you told them that in Wonderland you'd be able to that to avoid foes attacks. They thought it was a cool ability.
Next ability that came in was floatation. You guys have been climbing on trees, to get a better look of the forest, when it was time to go, the kids had jumped onto large leaves and landed safely, when it was your turn, you felt nervous at first but you needed to give it a shoot. When you jumped down to the ground, you thought you'd be falling at a fast pace, but this felt as if you were softly floating down. Which you were, gracefully you landed on the ground with the Sully kids. Their jaws had dropped when witnessing you coming down so softly. Again, you explained to them about this ability being one from Wonderland too.
Then came Shrinking and Growing in size. The first time it happened was when you had been exploring the forest on your own. You did not see how you had been followed by a Palulukan, you knew this wasn't a nice predator, so you took off running. You ran as fast as you could, this felt like the time you were chased by the Queen's executioner. You then saw a small rabbit like hole on the ground, you thought about turning small and jumping in the whole. So you did, you shrunk down and jumped in the whole, avoiding the creature. After a while that the coast was clear, you stepped out and grew back in size.
But you were lost and couldn't find the way back, you thought of turning into a giant, you didn't think it was possible since you needed to eat a cake, you thought of thinking about turning big, it didn't work at first until you decided to eat a mushroom that had been near by. You didn't think it'd work, but it did. You ate a small piece then grew into a giant. You manage to find where the Omaticaya were located so you went that way. Once close, you shrunk back into your human size. No one witnessed you shrinking, but you knew you had to tell the Sully's of this one as well.
Tumblr media
Just like the kids knew about your abilities, so did the parents, you and their kids had told them about your so called powers. But besides those, you told them about your Hysteria. You explained to them how this was more serious than the others, this ability was of a blind rage and how you basically just killed anything with no remorse.
You explain to them that you wouldn't want them to see this form of yourself since it was terrifying and you didn't want to go on a killing spree. They understood this to your surprised, you assumed you'd be called a maniac for this ability, but they knew that you were serious about this ability.
Tumblr media
The time passed and you had fully adapted like the Sully's. You were somewhat officially became part of the family. You'd help around the camp with whatever you could and as much as possible, it was the least you could do since they helped you, so you helped back. You had forgotten about how it was like living among humans, you stopped calling them humans. Instead you had referred to them as demons or a plague. Except for the humans that lived here, they were loyal and helped the na'vi.
Neytiri warmed up to you, at first she was distant, but during your time with them, she got used to you. She saw that you had a strong heart, even after everything that you went through and done, you were still pure in the heart. She somewhat saw you as one of her own kids, except you were a dreamwalker, the only dreamwalker she would accept to care for. Jake had also become like father figure. He treated you the way he treated his daughter, with love and care. He'd be the one to teach you the most about living with the na'vi, you learned that he was once human, but he transferred his soul into his avatar. He also taught you how to be seen as one of the people, but as a human child.
From the very beginning, the Sully kids had seen you as one of them. Sure you were human, but you were considered their equal like Spider. Since you were older than them, they'd call you Big Sister or Big Sis. You never would of thought you'd be a bigger sibling since you once had an older sister, it was nice being seen and accepted into a family. You also were under control of your mental state. You knew that you weren't fully healed and that you'd live with your issues, but you were living a normal life now, away from things and humans who had contaminated your mind.

soulmate!yoongi sneak peek :D
yoongi’s lullaby
Tumblr media
pairing: yoongi x reader
wordcount: 13k
glimpse: there’s two things you can conclude from yoongi’s shapeshifting service: a) it’s great for his wallet, and b) it’s crushing for your heart.
alternatively, yoongi’s your best friend and soulmate, and you have to watch him fall in love over and over again.
[ 40% angst, soulmate au, yoongi is a capitalist (he shapeshifts and goes on fake dates then gets a load of money), fluff + wholesomeness, unrequited love (at first), f2l, self-deprecation, jealousy, YEARNING!!!, Redemption Arc I Promise ]
notes: this is part of the hlwwf universe :) and just like its predecessor, it’s also based on a song!! i haven’t felt this excited to write a fic in a while so i hope u love it as much as i do <3
Yoongi must be the universe’s reward to you for every good deed you’ve ever done.
When Yoongi lets himself to be roped into joining in your newest fixation, it must be your good karma because you sat front-row for each one of your younger siblings’ school events.
When he reminds you to drink your water and not skip your meals, even going so far as to deliver both to you as often as he could, it must be the universe’s payment to you for watering plants and going on that one (1) mandatory tree planting activity.
When he gives you all the credentials to log into his premium streaming platforms even without you asking, it must be fate’s way of thanking you for not making a fuss whenever a barista messes up your order or when a stranger cuts in line.
Yoongi is the good in your life and he has been ever since you were teens, reminding you of what you’ve worked hard for in life because when he wasn’t so busy going through the same hardships you did, he would be at the sidelines waiting for you to finish.
Or he could be someplace else without even sending a lousy text regarding his wellbeing nor his notice that he can’t be at your awarding ceremony tonight because he’s busy doing his job, serving as a reminder that Yoongi must also be the universe’s punishment to you for your missteps and lapses.
When he comes and goes into your apartment freely as treats himself to your newly-bought groceries, it must be retribution because you lost your temper on your college roommate once for eating the leftovers you’ve been craving since the night before.
When he salvages all the spare batteries you have lying around to power up his huge clock back at his apartment, therefore leaving you to eventually spend a rainy night without flashlights because of a power outage, it must be payback for lowering the temperature in your breakroom even with the sign that specifically tells you not to.
Whenever Yoongi mentions his shapeshifting “career” (he argues that it is) to you, a gift he had been born with and one he really maximizes to the fullest potential and profit, you’re reminded how much of it is a curse to you.
Yoongi must be the universe’s greatest reward and punishment for you at the same time because while he’s your soulmate and you spend almost every day with him — you have to see him fall in love with everyone else but you, over and over again.
“You should be splitting rent with me at this point. You’re always here,” you groan as soon as you spot him on your couch, barely escaping the grogginess you’re still in from having a long night.
His presence isn’t surprising anymore given the time you’ve been with him and how this exact situation has already played out tons of times before (him breaking into your place because he doesn’t want to be alone, you blissfully clueless until you hear raccoon-like searching in your kitchen) — it’s more irking than it is surprising, especially when you wake up at the wrong side of the bed.
“Do you not want me around?” Yoongi laughs heartily, unwilling to wipe his grin off when you don’t react. “That’s what I thought.”
He’s already beaten you to the TV and while he hasn’t had breakfast yet because he thought that the least he could do is wait for you to wake up so you could make it and the two of you can eat together, he’s getting there anyway.
“What type of horrible soulmate kicks out their other half that hasn’t had breakfast yet at 8 in the morning?” he hums, a faux pout on his face that rubs you the wrong way. You’re still pissed at him for not showing up at your awarding ceremony last night for being the top developer in your tech company, his lengthy apologetic text before you went to sleep still not doing its full effects.
“You don’t wanna tread there,” you huff, crossing your arms. “I have a lot on my chest, Yoongi. A lot of hateful, vile, factual comebacks.”
“Exactly!” he exclaims, the smile on his face telling you that he’s taking this lightly; way more lightly than you’d like him to. “We’ve had this conversation a million times before, baby. Sometimes, people just aren’t meant to be,” Yoongi shrugs, his words embedded in you now from repetition alone. “Some soulmates are only platonic.”
“That’s what you want because you’re non-committal,” you hiss, the incoming headache you have for having this conversation too early in the morning making you sit yourself on the couch. Yoongi grins because he knows you won’t kick him out at this point, slinging an arm across your shoulders while you’re still glaring at him. “Your hustle or whatever you call it is falling in love with everyone but me.”
“Uhm, correction — it’s a career,” he tuts. “I have a gift, Y/N. What, I can shapeshift into other people and I’m not supposed to capitalize off of that?”
He had only started offering his services a little more than a year ago, a byproduct of his boredom and his producing internship at the music label falling through. It just came to him in a fever dream and a drunken suggestion from you, and one website domain purchase and a socialite with a lot of connections for a first client later, Yoongi quickly made bank.
SeeAndSaw’s a trial dating service led by Yoongi, one that would answer clients’ curiosities to whether or not they were compatible with a person, and that’s where his shapeshifting came in handy. His services continue to be used for a multitude of reasons, the most common one being to see if the client would match with their soulmates (or just a random person, he’s not particular like that) ahead of their meeting. He’s also become a handy instrument here and there, breaking up with people in his clients’ behalf because they were too guilty to do so, to becoming a stand-in for clients that needed to present someone to their families for occasions.
Yoongi acts far too casual to you and not only is its time’s fault, it’s also yours for keeping him around in any way you can have him, even if it’s just as a friend.
“I keep professing my love for you every two weeks and I’m doing it now while you’re eating my leftovers. People would kill just to have a soulmate as dedicated as me,” you frown, slowly softening the more that you’re rendered awake. Yoongi’s right, you did have this conversation a million times before and it’s the realization of it all that perhaps, at rare times, makes it hurt less.
“We’ve had this talk before,” he sing-songs, digging into the carbonara you took home that he retrieved not even one minute later since you joined him on the couch.
“For someone who makes bank fake dating people, you sure do leech off of me a lot,” you grumble, effectively quietened when he shoves a forkful of pasta into your mouth.
“That reminds me,” Yoongi grins, building up to a dramatic gasp. “I love-…”
He trails and trails and if only you didn’t know any better, you would know that Yoongi wouldn’t profess his love for you in your living room while you were still in your pajamas eating cold carbonara. Much less, Yoongi wouldn’t tell you at all that he loves you.
“I love doing that,” he agrees, disappointed for a second when you didn’t even react to him doing a cliffhanger about what or who he loves. “My treat for you this week is to get you a new mattress. You’ll be less grumpy in the mornings.”
“The mattress can stay for a little longer. Can you just get me a new alarm system please?” you say without missing a beat, having already thought long and hard about what make-up gift you wanted him to give you from missing out on your awarding ceremony.
“Why? Are you okay? Did anybody attempt to break in?” Yoongi asks concerned, brows knotted in worry. He grunts under his breath, shaking his head. “I already told you to move into my apartment complex so many times. It’s much safer there.”
That’s also a conversation you’ve had a million times before, all circling back to your attachment to the first place that you bought with your own money. It’s not bad per se, it just looks like it when you show it side-by-side with Yoongi’s place.
“Oh. They already broke in,” you narrow your eyes, oblivious to the panic brewing in Yoongi.
“What the fuck? Why didn’t you tell me?! Are you-…” he rants, stopping himself when he sees the irony. “Okay, I get it. You’re not funny.”
You and Yoongi eat cold carbonara in total silence, save for his grumbles of how you should never joke about your safety and yours for how he should start chipping in for your bills if he’s gonna keep showing up like this.
Yoongi swears he doesn’t find you funny. He swears it on his life when a few days later, a guy is sent to your house to update your security system. There’s a couple hundred packages of additional manual locks, along with Yoongi’s letter of how he still doesn’t find you funny, amongst other things.
Please guard your home. Don’t let anybody else in except me.
- Yoongi

1. How many works do you have on AO3? In total across 5 fandoms, 124, 84 of those are JatP, and 5 of those are prompt fill compilations.
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 1,674,136 uploaded as of right now, and I know that over 1 million of those words are JatP.
3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently just Julie and the Phantoms, but in past I wrote primarily for Glee/Glee RPF, and Teen Titans. There's no other fandom really interesting me enough to write for it at moment.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I'm going to limit this to my JatP fics, but if you wanna check out my stories in my previous fandoms, well here's my AO3
And giving yourself to me can never be wrong my collection of smut prompt fills with 235 kudos
I Know Who I Want To Take Me Home the first installment of my Semisonic Sunset verse with 192 kudos
But came the dawn the show goes on (and I don't want to say goodnight) my PeterPatterLina soulmate AU with 169 kudos
Maybe this news can wait Part three (and the only non smutty part) of Semisonic Sunset with 124 kudos
Better walk the line my single dad Reggie PeterPatter fic with 124 kudos
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Honestly no I don't. I tried, once upon a time, but I just felt like no one really cared what I had to say, and then I didn't have the spoons for it, so I stopped. I know I should though, my brain just doesn't seem to like letting me.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Hands down it is Haunted by the moments of what we used to be because every comment I got on it was some variation of how very dare you.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Generally I try to give all of my stories a happy ending, but for this one, I'll go with Yellow Wood  because it gave everyone a happy ending, no matter the path taken.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Currently no, but when the blacklist was a thing that happened, my name was second on there, so that kind of sucked.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Out of my 84 JatP fics, 24 are rated E, and my smut prompt fills are currently sitting at 80 something chapters, so you tell me. In honesty, I don't write smut as much anymore, as I find it a little more difficult to write and the response to anything rated above a T is vastly lower than anything else. But when I started in this fandom, it was what I was known for; see my point regarding the black list.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I actually kind of hate crossovers? If I'm looking for a fic to read on AO3, I always click the Exclude Crossovers choice. I'll write any and every AU I can, and I might add minor characters from said AU, but that's rare, and that's as close as I get.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Unfortunately yes. There was a person on WattPad who went and stole a bunch of different smutty JatP fics over a year ago, and one of mine was amongst them. They were reported, and the fic was taken down. This is why now my fics on AO3 are only available to registered AO3 users.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but if anyone ever wants to do a translation or podfic of any of my stories, they have my permission as long as they credit me and send me a link afterwards!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, and no one has ever asked. It's something I'd love to try if the chance ever came along, and had the right idea.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? I mean I can't pick just one, I've been involved in fandoms since I was a teenager. Like for Teen Titans Raven/Beast Boy will always own a piece of my soul. In Glee, Kurt/Blaine was such a formative part of my life. And even with Jatp I don't think I could choose between Rulie and PeterPatterLina, they both mean so much to me. And those are just the fandoms I've written for!
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? *looks at my GDocs which is a WiP graveyard* Oh gosh there's so many.
16. What are your writing strengths? My brain is not being kind to me ATM, so I don't think I have any? Like maybe how much I write? Does that count?
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Everything. Editing especially.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I have done this quite a bit, even if it's just plugging what I want to say into Google Translate. So I know it's not entirely accurate, but I think I have been getting better about it.
19. First fandom you wrote for? The first fic I ever wrote that wasn't done like on a dare was a smutty fic for the anime Trigun that still exists on my ff.net page if you find it (no I'm not linking it) that I wrote in high school. It is Not Good.
20. Favorite fic you've written? I give the same answer to this question every time: But came the dawn the show goes on (and I don't want to say goodnight) and I don't think that will ever change.

-For better or for worse (Even if it's just tonight)
-So Close To Reaching That Famous Happy End

Birds of Prey (AU) - Chapter 1
Carlo & Romeo & OC/Reader (AU)
A tragedy struck when the father of puppets suddenly died in an accident. While the whole city of Krat has been mourning the engineer, the son of Geppetto only felt the sweet smell of liberation. What is he going to do now that the source of his hatred is gone?
An AU series where the puppet frenzy didn't happen, Carlo and Romeo didn't perish from the petrification disease. This is the story of a hawk, a falcon and an eagle about finding their purpose while they're uncovering dark secrets behind the origins of Krat's prosperity.
──────────
Chapter 1: A hawk's resentment
"I don't care if an old man like that kicks the bucket!"
"Don't say that. It's nice you got any family at all..."
The death of Giuseppe Geppetto left a huge scar on the city of Krat. His knowledge about engineering let this metropolis prosper. Yet, the father of puppet technology was suddenly gone. They said it was an abrupt accident during the opening ceremony at the Grand Exhibition Gallery. It would've been a display about the developing process of puppet technology. He was meant to uncover one of his secrets regarding his geniusness. However, misfortune struck when one of the future puppets fell on the engineer. His secrets were gone with him.
Dark clouds blanketed over Krat. Ever since that day, the sun has barely set on the metropolis. When the day of the funeral came, distant relatives, close friends and colleagues gathered to say their farewells to Geppetto.
Everyone except his own flesh and blood: Giuseppe Carlo. The teenage boy despised his father for abandoning him. Ever since his mother died, Geppetto has been pretty much married to his work. It was natural for the boy to turn his back on his old man one last time.
A lot of people have started gossiping about him skipping the funeral. His best friend noticed those scornful gazes immediately. While they were walking out from the Charity House, he stopped Carlo at the entrance door.
"You went too far this time, man. He was still your father." Romeo said solemnly.
"I couldn't care less." Carlo clicked his tongue. "He did me a favour by pegging out."
"You're just being stubborn." The blond young man furrowed his eyebrows, arms crossed at his chest.
"I'm not stubborn, you know I'm right." The smaller teen tiredly rolled his eyes.
"Uh-uh. But don't be surprised if people will judge you for not paying respects. Even if you hated him, he wa..."
"Romeo, just stop, I won't repeat myself!" Carlo interrupted him. As his gaze darkened, the taller boy backed off from him.
"Have it your way then." His friend shrugged nonchalantly with arms spread out. "But don't tell me I didn't try to warn you."
"Don't worry, I won't. Besides, I don't care about what people think of me." He grinned smugly.
"Ever the fearless, ever the careless, Carlo. You're still the son of a famous engineer." Romeo said half-jokingly.
The other teen flipped his short brown hair from his face, straightened his back.
"Well, the son of a famous engineer will be the best Stalker of the world! I won't live in that old fool's shadow when that time comes."
The tall blond man chuckled at his confidence.
──────────
They left the orphanage to get some walk before evening. They've been striding on the streets of Krat for hours, enjoying the freedom and the cold autumn air. The boys forgot about everything bad that happened on that day. As they stalked around a bridge, they stopped their journey for a short rest. Carlo's eyes gazed beyond the faraway mountains. He stared, dreaming about his upcoming adventures outside this boring city his father cherished so much. The boy wished for wings to fly away like a hawk. He just knew that he is a much different calling in his life as those adults expected him to be.
As he was lost in his thoughts, Romeo poked his arm without words. The boy looked at him, who in turn pointed to the top of the bridge. His amber brown eyes spied a certain figure. Standing there like an all-seeing guardian of sorts, the figure leaned on its weapon like a cane. The eyes of the stuffed dog mask gleamed in warm brown color while the Hound stood his ground, watching all over Krat.
This... this sight was Carlo's dream in its full splendor. While the Hound barely interacted with his protected ones, he already found his purpose in his life. He envied the freedom this mysterious Stalker had. He didn't understand why anyone would avoid this way of life.
While he looked at his hero, the Stalker jumped off from the bridge to the top of a storeyed house. Like a fierce wind, he disappeared into the darkness, just as he appeared before the two boys.
After seeing their hero in the flesh, the boys decided it would be the best time to get back to the Charity House. The evening slowly turned into night as they got to their destination. However, before they could enter the orphanage, Romeo said:
"Oh boy, how are you going to explain this?"
Before he could ask, Carlo already saw what his friend was referring to... or rather, who.
The one whom Romeo was referred to already was behind his back, clearing her throat. He turned over her with eyebrows raised questioningly.
"What do you want, Vittoria?" He asked.
The girl looked at him, then her azure gaze shifted to Romeo. After a while, she looked back at Carlo.
"Romeo, Carlo." She greeted them with a flat but quiet voice. The girl looked at the brown haired boy, then at the blond one once again. She smiled a bit at Romeo as he bowed his head respectfully to her.
"Well, I see that you want to speak with this young man." He said half-jokingly as he poked his friend's side with his elbow. "I shall take my leave now. I wish you a pleasant evening!"
Carlo sighed in frustration as he saw his best friend leaving, but not before winking at them. After he went into the house, the younger boy turned to the girl once again. Vittori furrowed her eyebrows as if she expected something from him. Carlo blinked at her.
"You have something in your possession which belongs to me." She said, once again with a flat tone.
"...I don't know what you're talking about." He replied the same way.
"You certainly do, Carlo. While you had your fun spilling my drink with ink once again, you stole my pamphlet."
She was forced to hide a cringe grin from her face. Because of that, the girl looked like she was in some sort of pain for a moment.
"I would appreciate it if you give it back. Now." She continued with one hand reaching out.
Carlo looked at her with a bad eye... then suddenly, he touched her forehead with the back of his hand.
"Do you have a fever or something? You're talking weirdly." He said with a fake condescending voice. "Oh, I know! Maybe you should visit Miss Sophia again. It's not like you have anything to do anyways."
Although the girl wildly pulled away from him, she didn't respond to the mockery. She should have known that he was always like this.Yet, here she was, trying to get back what was hers. This boy has defeated her once again.
Vittoria gritted her teeth, but as she looked beyond him, her gaze held sadness. With a wordless sigh, she walked past Carlo and went inside the Charity House. But before she disappeared, she quietly said:
"My condolences about your father."
It made his blood boil. She and her two goody shoes attitude irritated him to no end. Despite this, he smugly smiled as he reached for his pocket. The black pamphlet was always with him, at arm's length. While it was creased and jagged, he took care of it. Too bad that he only did it for himself, so he thought. It's not like he's planning to give it back to her anytime soon. Not when she just mentioned his old man. He just loved teasing her. The girl was quiet, reserved and well-mannered. She always read boring things he disliked so much. And yet, every time he mocked her, she didn't retaliate in anger. She looked at him with such sadness... almost with pity.
Curiosity overwhelmed him as he gazed after the direction where she went. The girl didn't deny the fact that she was going to visit Miss Sophia. He looked at her pamphlet and sighed quietly.
'It's hard to let a good reading go, but maybe...' He thought as he followed her into the orphanage.
Carlo waited a few minutes before following Vittoria to Lady Sophia's room. Judging by the lack of reaction earlier, she didn't deny that she wanted to visit the daughter of Valentinus Monad. The girl has never talked with anyone else in the orphanage, save for a few students.
As he slowly followed her through the long corridors of the home, she took a sharp turn to the left and knocked at the wooden door. As soon as a quiet "come in" was heard, Vittoria walked in. She left the door slightly open. The fireplace's gentle light leaked out to the corridor. Seeing this, the boy pressed his back to the wall as he leaned towards the door, eavesdropping on them.
Sophia sat on a wing-chair with legs crossed in a delicate manner. She pointed to a chair before a table, asking the girl without any words to take a seat. She nodded curtly as she sat down.
"I appreciate your help, Matron. I didn't know where to turn for support." She said tiredly, yet gratefully.
The lady smiled, but raised her eyebrows in concern. "Are you sure about this?"
Vittoria hummed in affirmation. "It's not like I have any choice on the matter."
The woman looked at her with a sad yet understanding look. She claps her hands before her chest as she hummed.
"How is your brother? You mentioned that he's working at the Workshop Union."
"He's been overworking himself lately. The death of Mr. Giuseppe has shaken everyone in the guild, but they've been even busier than before." She sighed wearily. "Now that he's gone, cutthroat competition will rear its head among inventors and engineers. Despite this, Marcello seems... happy."
Sophia tilted her head to the right in slight surprise. "How so?"
"They've been working on a big project for a while now. Apparently the energy supply won't depend on just electricity anymore." Taking a big breath, the teenage girl leaned a bit forward. "I don't know the details, but it's a much more efficient energy source."
"That sounds wonderful." Sophia said endearingly. But as soon as she saw her protegé's pensive expression, she asked: "Is it not?"
"There've been several accidents in the past two weeks lately. Some of my brother's colleagues have disappeared and no one has seen them since."
"I heard some worrying rumors, but not about the disappearances." The lady gave Vittoria an understanding look. "I'm so sorry to hear that, child."
The girl smiled at her in appreciation.
"I trust my brother. He's going to be alright and makes us all proud."
"He certainly will." Sophia agreed with a curtly nod, then she gave her protegé a knowing look. "...How about your sister-in-law?"
The silence was painfully deafening. Even Carlo looked askance through the leak, searching for the figure of the girl. Vittoria gazed downwards, avoiding Miss Sophia's questioning look. The boy's eyebrows knitted in slight confusion as he saw her shaking. She looked like she was in some sort of pain.
"I..."

I woke up at 4 am in the morning with a new concept so here it is: Carlo content™. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this. While I wrote a Carlo x OC oneshot before, I'm trying to connect the dots in a way. I just hope he's not that ooc haha...
Anyways, I'll do my best to update this series at least once or twice per week. Once the queue is over, I'll post my stuff on ao3 as well. And while I'm still a greenhorn, any feedback would be much appreciated! Thank you for reading this, have a nice day! :)

I just saw your 2018!ronin and 2012!tot comic and wow it’s so painful thinking of somehow Mikey getting into 2012’s universe and then staying to help raise the tots knowing what happens in 2012 while they’re teens. I very interested in seeing how his relatioship with the 2012 characters develop (if he decides to stay) does he stay Mikey or does he go with Ronin? Will he ever tell the tots where he came from or who he is? Will Mikey ever be happy??
Is there a name for this AU that I missed? Or a specific tag for it?
we actually have a few lil comics thought up for how he got there! we just haven't had time to work on anything between work and being a system with people who want to do other things 💔 but we plan on trying to draw it sooner or later >:)c
he goes by ronin! he doesn't tell anyone who he actually is, and he tried once to explain to splinter how he got there but ultimately decided to make up an excuse
as for will he ever tell them? mm we're not sure how yet but yeah! waaayyy later down the line tho we wanna have the reveal be centered around ronin's mystics but we haven't had any good ideas on how yet
and yeh he'll be happy eventually! not completely l, but enough and thats all that matters ❤️
and there is! we've been calling it "anata wa hitori janai mr ronin" and that's also the tag we've been using! we thought it was a nice fit ❤️

“Fine. On three?” Stiles asked, hands moving to the ties at the back of his head. Mystery Man smiled and nodded, mirroring the position.
“One,” Stiles began.
“Two,” Mystery Man continued.
“Thr-”
“Derek! Where did you go?! Mother has been seeking your presence for the last hour!”
Stiles felt himself seize up in partial shock. He never finished removing his mask but Mystery Man - Derek - had. Stiles was stuck between watching Derek’s chiseled, sharp-angled face come into view - his multi-colored eyes somehow popping even more with the lack of a mask - and between watching the movement of the girl who barged in, dressed in the riches of cloths, dress the blood red color of Beacon’s Royal Family with the family crest proudly pinned to the golden trim around the swoop of her neckline, who looked murderously annoyed.
+.+.+ OR: Cinderella!AU… with a twist! WA fic born of my recent Royaly AU/Historical AU fixation that was supposed to be a snippet, became a bit more developed but also… not really?
