The art of Layering Textures in Interior Design
Layering textures in interior design is one the most effective ways of creating a visually rich and inviting multi-dimensional space. Although you might not have noticed, you must have seen this strategically embedded within color schemes and furniture designs. Dubai interior design contractors have now master it to an extent of combining different materials, finishes, and textiles. Just with this professional technique, interiors gain depth, sophistication and a sense of warmth of which cannot be achieved with a single-texture approach. Am sure you now get a glimpse of what elevates luxury in Dubai interiors! DesignMaster has done and still leveraging interior texture layering in many modern minimalist residential fit out, cozy rustic villa designs and even in luxurious hotel lobbies.  So, here DesignMaster demonstrates how the art of layering textures transforms any ordinary interior space into an elegant and visually dynamic masterpiece.

With JoAnne Fabrics going out of business I feel it is my duty as a cosplayer, historical costumer, and general sewing gremlin to help teach y'all how not to be reliant on evil overpriced mediocre big box stores for fabric and cosplay supply, cause if I catch y'all going into Homophobia Lobby to get cosplay fabrics imma have to start throwing hands. And frankly you guys all deserve better.
- Find a neighborhood full of brown people. Probably a slightly poorer neighborhod. I know, I know, but they will have small independent fabric stores. Selection in each may vary. Hispanic and Caribbean areas will give you prints that EAT. Muslim areas will give you fabrics with amazing drapery. Indian and Southeast Asian areas will give you beading that would make the House of Worth wet with envy. (Try to avoid oldwhitelady quilting stores unless you are a knitter or are specifically trying to cosplay Kirsten Larson.) (Also ask while you're there for lunch/dinner spot recommendations. Your fabric store guy usually has a buddy with a joint nextdoor with the best *insert relevant ethnic food here* you'll ever put in your mouth.)
- DEVELOP A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE OWNER OF SAID STORE. This I cannot stress enough. Abdul, my fabric guy, can and will get me whatever I want cause he knows me, knows I bring in other young people, and knows I will be back every month for more. Indie fabric stores tend to have older clients. They are anxious to see faces under 60. Just chat with whoever is in there about the kind of stuff you want and need and they will help you. This also frequently leads to discounts. I have not paid listed price for fabric in years and just walked out of Abdul's with 7~ yards of gorgeous teal satin for 10 bucks. Not a yard. Total.
- Do not be afraid of mess. The best shit comes from stores that look like a hurricane went through them. Don't try to understand the organization. (One day, 4 years into your relationship with the store, suddenly the fabric gods will reveal the knowledge to you.) Again, talk to whoever is in there about your project. They'll help.
- Give up on one stop shopping. Get your crafting supplies elsewhere. Like a small independent hardware store. There's usually an old guy in there that reminds you of an uncle who will also help you.
-Worbla and whatever other Cosplay Specific Material you're using is a fatphobic material straight from Satan's hot taint, you do not need it, and any old hardware/tractor supply dad will help you find better, more durable armor/weapon/detailing material. Don't snub your nose at paper mache and plaster of paris. Venetian Mask makers have been using it for years. Balsa wood is also your friend. Hardware store Uncles will teach you to work with both.
- Elderly people are your bffs. If you see an old person TALK TO THEM. They know how to do all kinds of shit. I know there's a hesitation around old people because of the political climate and a fear that they may be homo/trans/whatever-phobic, but hey....minds are changed by making friends. My elderly Muslim fabric supplier is an Our Flag Means Death fan because of me gushing about the teal I needed for Stede Bonnet. He wishes me happy pride now. He put bolt of rainbow in the window in June and kept it up all summer. And he'd never had a thought about queers before me.
- Don't feel limited to Craft and Fabric stores. Hardware stores are cool. They stock outdoor fabrics and umbrella and furniture covers that are very durable....my first cosplay was made out of patio furniture covers. Also upholstery stores and upholsterers have velvets and damasks and faux leather and real leather and all sorts of rich textures. Most of them will part with a few yards pretty cheap. Second hand sheets and bedspreads and curtains also make some really cool garments. A significant amount of my ren fair garb started as household goods.
- If you are forced to order fabric online, please for the love of all that is holy DO NOT BUY FROM MOOD or any other famous store. You're paying for their branding and their place on certain reality shows I will not mention. Indie is always cheaper for the quality and usually not abusing their workers.
- If the fabric/hobby/hardware/upholstery/etc store you develop a relationship with is inconveniently far from you, see if said owner is willing to take your order via phone and send it to you. You'd be surprised how accommodating people in the crafting and sewing world can be.
It all really comes down to having to form a community. I know finding multiple small stores is a lot less convenient than Joannes. But forming a relationship with a local supplier will, in the long run, yield you much better results AND put money and good back into a community near you.
(And if you're in the NYC area DM me and I'll put you in contact with Abdul. He's the absolute best and I'd do anything to help him and his business grow!!!)

Home Style Guide: Your Source for Interior Design Inspiration
Tumblr media
Designing your home in a way that not only reflects your personality but also provides convenience and order is definitely an exciting and evolving process. A home that has a measurable liveliness factor is the one that is not only filled with furniture but is carefully arranged so it becomes the embodied narrative of your life. Where to begin? These fundamentals are crucial to your sensitive interior designs, comprising both perception and application to your transforming endeavors.
Defining Your Style:
Before diving into paint swatches and furniture catalogs, take time to define your personal style. Browse magazines, online platforms like Pinterest and Instagram, and even visit show homes to gather inspiration. Ask yourself:
What colors resonate with me?
What kind of atmosphere do I want to create (e.g., cozy, modern, minimalist, eclectic)?
What are my favorite design elements (e.g., natural materials, bold patterns, vintage finds)?
You must confirm your style, for this will be a cornerstone for all of your design decisions, which will need to be very coherent and in harmony if dry lines are seen to be aesthetically fit within your home.
Key Elements of Interior Design:
A few things beyond this interaction contribute to forming a successful interior design. Knowing these principles will help you make informed decisions:
Color: The color has been a means of expression. Blue stands for a feeling of peace and comfort. They may even promote the sleeping of the babies. Balancing the presence of blue colors.
Space: Understanding room circulation and the way furniture is placed in space are two primary aspects required to create a functional and cozy environment.
Light:Natural and artificial light have a significant effect on how a space is perceived. Utilize natural light to the maximum extent possible and bring in various types of artificial lighting to give the room a sense of depth and warmth.
Texture and Pattern: Texture and pattern are added to the wall with the help of fabrics, rugs, and decorative accessories that give good experience and make space more enlarging.
Furniture and Accessories: Look for furniture that is useful to you. Decoration is the last detail that is connected to your living space. Ideally, they should have a story of their own.
Tips for Creating a Cohesive Design:
Start with a Focal Point:The core of a room will be highlighted by every space, either a fireplace, the big window or the main piece of the furniture.
Create a Mood Board: Collect fabric swatches, paint chips and images that inspire you into a mood board. This will also help give you a picture of what your design will look like as well as keep things consistent.
Consider Scale and Proportion: Select furniture and accessories that are proportionately scaled to the size of the room.
Don't Be Afraid to Mix and Match: What is great is mixing styles and epochs. Just make sure to do so considered and intentionally.”
Edit and Declutter: Having a clutter-free space means you are ensured a well-designed space. Regularly edit your possessions and declutter to have a feeling of order and tranquility.
Finding Your Inspiration:
Inspiration is all around us. Here are some tools and resources to inspire your creativity:
Online Platforms: Pinterest, Instagram and Houzz are iconic resources for design inspiration.
Magazines: Interior design magazines provide curated inspiration and expert advice.
Show Homes: Visiting show homes allows you to see design trends in action.
Travel: Exploring different cultures and architectural styles can spark new ideas.
Making it Your Own:
But at the end of the day, the No. 1 thing about interior design is designing a space you love. So have fun, take risks, and customize your home to fit your taste!

In the past fifty years, fantasy’s greatest sin might be its creation of a bland, invariant, faux-Medieval European backdrop. The problem isnt that every fantasy novel is set in the same place: pick a given book, and it probably deviates somehow. The problem is that the texture of this place gets everywhere.
What’s texture, specifically? Exactly what Elliot says: material culture. Social space. The textiles people use, the jobs they perform, the crops they harvest, the seasons they expect, even the way they construct their names. Fantasy writing doesn’t usually care much about these details, because it doesn’t usually care much about the little people – laborers, full-time mothers, sharecroppers, so on. (The last two books of Earthsea represent LeGuin’s remarkable attack on this tendency in her own writing.) So the fantasy writer defaults – fills in the tough details with the easiest available solution, and moves back to the world-saving, vengeance-seeking, intrigue-knotting narrative. Availability heuristics kick in, and we get another world of feudal serfs hunting deer and eating grains, of Western name constructions and Western social assumptions. (Husband and wife is not the universal historical norm for family structure, for instance.)
Defaulting is the root of a great many evils. Defaulting happens when we don’t think too much about something we write – a character description, a gender dynamic, a textile on display, the weave of the rug. Absent much thought, automaticity, the brain’s subsconscious autopilot, invokes the easiest available prototype – in the case of a gender dynamic, dad will read the paper, and mom will cut the protagonist’s hair. Or, in the case of worldbuilding, we default to the bland fantasy backdrop we know, and thereby reinforce it. It’s not done out of malice, but it’s still done.
The only way to fight this is by thinking about the little stuff. So: I was quite wrong. You do need to worldbuild pretty hard. Worldbuild against the grain, and worldbuild to challenge. Think about the little stuff. You don’t need to position every rain shadow and align every tectonic plate before you start your short story. But you do need to build a base of historical information that disrupts and overturns your implicit assumptions about how societies ‘ordinarily’ work, what they ‘ordinarily’ eat, who they ‘ordinarily’ sleep with. Remember that your slice of life experience is deeply atypical and selective, filtered through a particular culture with particular norms. If you stick to your easy automatic tendencies, you’ll produce sexist, racist writing – because our culture still has sexist, racist tendencies, tendencies we internalize, tendencies we can now even measure and quantify in a laboratory. And you’ll produce narrow writing, writing that generalizes a particular historical moment, its flavors and tongues, to a fantasy world that should be much broader and more varied. Don’t assume that the world you see around you, its structures and systems, is inevitable.
We... need worldbuilding by Seth Dickinson

A collab with @tvickiesims 🤗 the season of candles is upon us, so we bring you a conversion of TS4 Candle Crafting Station – as a functional crafting station!
With this station, your sims can craft candles that give light but work differently than regular lamps, as they gradually consume as they burn and become disposable after burning out.
Tumblr media
🛍️ Make candles: Builds creativity and arts & crafts enthusiasm. New candles are available at creativity skill levels 2, 4, and 6. Crafted candles are sellable on OFB businesses, when crafted on business lots they go to the business owner's inventory.
You can direct your sim to craft a single candle or to make many at once. At the start of crafting, you get to choose the recolor and rename the selected candle. If the sim stops crafting before finishing the candle the material cost is returned.
Tumblr media
🕯️ Light up candles: Your sims get to enjoy candlelight, but only while the candle can burn! More expensive candles burn longer than cheaper ones. The candlelight turns slightly dimmer over time, especially just before the candle goes out completely.
If you want the candle to last longer, you can direct your sim to put it out at any point while it still burns and light it up again later 😎
The Sacred Candle that becomes available to craft at creativity level 6 isn't a part of TS4 candle crafting station, but Vickie converted it from Paranormal and we gave it a special ability; every now and then it'll boost the comfort of nearby sims. The more you have Sacred Candles burning nearby, the bigger the boost.
Download (SFS) (alternate)
Free Time and Open For Business are required. We also included a few related deco items that Vickie converted, previews and info about them are included in the archive 📦
The crafting station is located under hobbies/misc for §550. Its polycount is 2052 and the main texture is 1024x1024. The station has a Russian translation.
⚠️ All the candle files are required for the crafting station to work. The shadow file by @lordcrumps is required by all objects and is included (but as usual, you only need one).
The candles are only available through crafting so they don't appear in the catalog. Their polycounts are around 100–500, the plain ones have 128x128 textures and the patterned ones 256x256.
Credit to @deedee-sims for the woodwork bench and @nixedsims for the anvil code which were used as a starting point to make this custom station, even though most of the code got rewritten so it's not a direct clone anymore.

Sims 4 Render Lighting Tutorial
Tumblr media
"Environmental Lighting" won my most recent poll, so let's get right into it!
A few notes before we begin:
I render exclusively in cycles!
This tutorial assumes some basic knowledge of blender
Though this tutorial covers the basics, HDRIs can be used in conjunction with any scene/your built scenes
I decided to focus on environmental and other lighting in this tutorial, since they all kind of go hand in hand.
For this tutorial, I'll be using my recent Cupid Sim. Here's a render of her with no additional lighting:
Tumblr media
1. Base lighting
In any full body, single sim render (like lookbooks, for example), I really like to use a glowing base. It grounds the sim a bit and casts some interesting lighting on them.
To do this, I add a circle under their feet by pressing shift+A and selecting circle.
Tumblr media
An empty circle will appear, but we need it to be a solid disk, so go into Edit mode (by pressing tab while the circle is selected) then hitting F on the keyboard to fill it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that, you can go into the Materials tab and add in color and glow.
Mine is adjusted like this:
Tumblr media
And gives this rendered result:
Tumblr media
2. HDRIs
HDRIs (High Dynamic Range images) are extremely useful when it comes to environmental lighting, I always use them now to add better/more dynamic lighting to my renders.
HDRIs are 3D/panoramic, which makes them extremely useful.
You can find/download HDRIs online in a few diff places: PolyHaven, AmbientCO, and Blender Market.
There are also several available for FREE using BlenderKit (my preferred method).
So how do you use an HDRI?
We can add HDRIs to our render by navigating to the world tab and changing the color to "environment texture".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I chose this vaporware HDRI from BlenderKit, & here it is with no adjustments, but it's looking a little rough so let's adjust it.
Tumblr media
By adding vector nodes, we can adjust how the HDRI behaves. Here I mostly use the Z rotation and the background strength:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's the same render with the Z-rotation set to 50, 150, 200, & 250.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can put in any value for the Z-rotation, this is just an example of how the HDRI turns. This is maybe not the best example of the rotation, but putting her in a forest just didn't feel right lmfaooo, hopefully you can see how the light changes on her depending on the rotation.
You can also adjust the strength of the HDRI. Here's the HDRI (rotated to 150) set at .5 and 1.5 strength:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For this tutorial, my favorite lighting is the HDRI set to 150, and the strength set to .5, like this (this is a rendered image):
Tumblr media
3. Transparent HDRIs + Point Lights
But I'm not fully happy with the lighting. I don't love how the HDRI is a bit blurry, so I'm going to set it to be transparent.
To do this, go to the Render Tab, scroll down to the Film option, and check Transparent:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lighting effect from the HDRI will stay the same, but the background will be transparent.
From here, you can add a background (when I do this, I like adding a plane, & moving/shading it until I'm happy (kinda like this):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOTE that you have to put the plane far enough behind your sim so it doesn't affect the HDRI lighting too much.
SECOND NOTE You can use this same method to use HDRIs in conjunction with scenes. They can provide the perfect backdrop!
This is still really dark, so I'm going to add three point lights: -Two on either side of her head/shoulders that will be smaller (in radius) and brighter -One in front of her to add actual light (so details aren't lost)
Tumblr media
Here's how I set up my lights.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pink light settings are for the two point lights on the sides The white light setting is for the light in front of her
For a basic render, this is almost good enough for me, but I really like the glowing effect I get in my renders.
To achieve this, we have to go to the compositing tab:
4. Compositing
Full disclosure, my compositing tab is set to glow by default (that's how much I love it), so all of the renders in this tutorial have it turned on.
I use the glare node and set it to fog glow.
Here's my preferred setting:
Tumblr media
I prefer the fog glow effect, but bloom, ghost, streaks and star are also options.
Here's a guide to the glare node!
Tbh, I never use any of the other settings, so I'll leave this tutorial here for today.
Here's the final result (with no additional editing):
Tumblr media
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send an ask, message or join my discord (no minors pls) for help! <3

How to apply textures in Blender 4.0 For newbies (´。• ᵕ •。) ♡
So you imported your lovely doll into Blender 4.0, but the textures are messed or missing, here's how to apply base simple textures from the scratch!
I'm using Blender 4.0.2 (Sorry 4.3, but your EEVEE is currently nothing but tears for me) and my lovely Aidan is here to assist me. SO! Seat your bum comfortable and let's begin!
1 - Split your working space by pulling the corner of the screen:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2 - Then click on Material with your mesh selected.
Tumblr media
3 - Pick Shader Editor on the left part of the screen and hit New in the Material on the right. You'll get something like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4 - On the left choose Add - Texture - Image Texture. We need three of them at very least :D
Tumblr media
5 - First Image texture: Connect Color to the Base Color and Alpha to Alpha. Second Image texture connect to Specular IOR Level. Don't forget to upload your textures! Color - is well... color pics. Specular looks like Black/White pics and Normal is purple!
Tumblr media
6 - Now add Normal Map. And connect it like on the picture below:
Tumblr media
7 - Specular and Normal maps should be NON - COLOR in the Image Texture - Color Space
Tumblr media
8 - Turn on the alpha. In Material - Settings - Blend Mode/Shadow Mode change on Alpha Hashed + You can check Backface Culling. In some cases it's vital :D
Tumblr media
9 - Change the Specular settings in case of weird shining by changing IOR and Roughness parameters.
Tumblr media
10 - You did it! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ:・゚✧

LADOOR - PLATİN (2)
The door surface is a critical element in the design and functionality of any door. It can significantly impact not only the aesthetic appeal but also the overall durability and maintenance of the door itself. Understanding the various types of door surfaces available can help you make an informed decision when choosing the right door for your needs.
One popular type of door surface is made from wood. Wooden doors often provide a classic, timeless look, and can be stained or painted to suit your decor. However, they require regular maintenance to prevent warping and decay, especially in moist environments.
Another common door surface option is fiberglass. These doors are known for their resilience and ability to imitate the look of wood without the drawbacks. Fiberglass doors resist cracking, splitting, and rotting, making them an excellent choice for homeowners looking for low maintenance.
Metal doors, often made from steel or aluminum, are another option to consider. They offer superior security and durability, making them an ideal choice for commercial applications. Additionally, metal door surfaces can be finished with various coatings to enhance their appearance and protection against rust.
It's also crucial to consider the texture and finish of the door surface. Smooth finishes are easier to clean but may show fingerprints and scuffs more easily, while textured surfaces can hide imperfections but might require more effort for cleaning.
In summary, the selection of a door surface is an essential aspect of door planning. Whether you opt for wood, fiberglass, metal, or a combination of materials, being aware of the features, maintenance needs, and aesthetic potential of each option can lead to a more satisfying purchase. Invest time in selecting the right door surface to ensure that it complements your design vision while providing the functionality you require.
Ladoor
The term Ladoor refers to a specific type of door that is not only functional but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of any space. These doors are designed with a combination of durability and style, making them a popular choice for both residential and commercial buildings.
Ladoor options are available in various materials, including wood, metal, and composite materials. Each material offers its own unique appearance and benefits. For example, wooden Ladoor can provide a warm, natural look and can be customized with different finishes. Metal Ladoor, on the other hand, offers strength and security, making them ideal for entry points that require additional protection.
Additionally, Ladoor can feature various styles, such as single doors, double doors, or sliding doors, enabling homeowners and architects to choose the design that best fits their space. Some Ladoor styles include traditional panel doors, modern flat doors, and elegant French doors, each offering its unique charm.
When choosing a Ladoor, it is essential to consider factors such as insulation, maintenance, and design coherence with the rest of the home. Proper installation is also crucial to ensure the door operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to energy savings and overall longevity.
Incorporating a Ladoor into your space can significantly impact the functionality and design. Whether you are looking to upgrade your home or design a new one, exploring Ladoor options can lead to fulfilling architectural decisions that marry utility and aesthetics.

Marble Bathroom Sink
When it comes to home design, few materials evoke a sense of luxury and timeless beauty quite like marble. A marble bathroom sink not only serves as a functional wash basin but also elevates the overall aesthetic of your space. The elegance of marble exudes sophistication, turning an ordinary bathroom into a serene oasis.
Marble Bathroom Sink
A marble bathroom sink is not just a functional component of your bathroom; it is a statement piece that adds elegance and luxury. Marble, known for its unique veining and rich texture, brings a timeless charm to any space. When choosing a marble bathroom sink, there are several factors to consider to ensure it complements your bathroom design.
First, consider the style of your bathroom. Whether you are going for a modern, classic, or rustic look, a marble sink can fit seamlessly into any theme. The color palette of the marble also matters; white and cream marbles can lend a fresh and airy feel, while darker hues can create a dramatic effect.
Maintenance is another important aspect to consider. While marble sinks are stunning, they do require some care to maintain their beauty. Regular sealing and careful cleaning will help prevent stains and etching, keeping your sink looking pristine over the years.
Installation is another key consideration. Marble is heavier than other materials, so ensure that your cabinet and plumbing can support your chosen marble bathroom sink. Consultation with a professional can help you navigate this aspect of your renovation.
Ultimately, a marble bathroom sink is an investment in both aesthetics and functionality. By choosing the right type, color, and maintenance plan, you can enjoy the beauty of marble in your bathroom for years to come.
Wash Basin Sink
A wash basin sink is an essential fixture in any bathroom, offering both functionality and style. When selecting a wash basin sink, it is important to consider various factors such as size, design, and material.
One popular choice among homeowners is the marble bathroom sink. Known for its elegance and durability, marble sinks can elevate the aesthetic of your bathroom. Their unique veining patterns ensure that no two sinks are alike, providing a one-of-a-kind centerpiece for your space.
When choosing a wash basin sink, you will encounter various types including undermount, vessel, and pedestal sinks. Each design has its own benefits and can enhance the overall look of your bathroom. For instance, vessel sinks are often mounted on top of the countertop, making them a stylish option that complements modern decor.
Aside from aesthetics, the wash basin sink should also offer practical features. Consider looking for a model with easy-to-clean surfaces and a design that accommodates your bathing and grooming needs. The right choice will not only enhance your bathroom’s style but also improve daily usage.
In terms of installation, make sure to consult with a professional if you are unsure. Proper installation of your wash basin sink will ensure that it functions efficiently and lasts for many years to come.
Lastly, don't forget to incorporate additional features such as stylish faucets and accessories that complement your wash basin sink and add to the overall design of your bathroom.
Ancient Roman Baths
The Ancient Roman Baths were an essential aspect of Roman culture, reflecting the importance of hygiene, social interaction, and relaxation in ancient society. These baths, also known as thermae, were large public bathing complexes that served as a social hub for citizens of all classes.
Typically, the layout of a Roman bath included a series of rooms with varying temperatures and functions. The caldarium (hot bath) heated the water through a sophisticated system of hypocaust, allowing steam to rise and warm the space. Next to it was the tepidarium (warm bath), which served as a transitional room, and the frigidarium (cold bath), where bathers would plunge into cooler waters to invigorate their bodies.
In addition to hygiene, these baths featured amenities such as libraries, gymnasiums, and gardens, encouraging a sense of community and leisure. Romans often visited to socialize, conduct business, or simply enjoy the art and architecture that adorned these luxurious facilities. The decorative mosaics and grand columns were not only functional but also represented the wealth and sophistication of the society.
The significance of the Ancient Roman Baths can also be seen in their architectural innovation. The Romans mastered the use of concrete and arches, allowing for grand open spaces and intricate designs. These structures have inspired modern spa designs, embodying the idea of relaxation and wellness.
Despite their popularity, the fall of the Roman Empire led to the decline of these spectacular sites. Many were repurposed, and their intricate plumbing systems fell into disrepair. However, remnants of these ancient baths still surface in archaeological sites, offering a glimpse into a fascinating aspect of Roman life.
Today, while we may not indulge in the same communal bathing practices, the legacy of the Ancient Roman Baths endures. Their emphasis on hygiene and social engagement continues to influence how we design our own spaces for relaxation and community interaction.

WIP Update (Pottery Mod etc.)
Heyo, figured I'd give an update on my WIPs, especially as I mentioned previously about making a post about the pottery mod and proceeded to not do that...
Long story short, I had to take a break from working on the pottery mod for a little while, then I didn't pick it back up when I could, became afraid to look at it, started other WIPs including a cow mod and a script modding tutorial project, and now am working on a project tangential to the pottery mod - a material state editor tool! I'm pretty excited about it because I'm diving into using S3PI and I'm honestly just surprised it's working out so far. This tool should make it less tedious to add all the glaze types to the ceramics for the pottery mod, and maybe someone else will find it useful too! At least my future self will if I make another mod that involves objects with material states... otherwise it's me spending 50 hours working on a tool to automate something that might take 5 hours! Yay technology...! I'm also hoping this post will help get me back into working on the pottery mod itself... I already had to fix a problem I so kindly left for myself in the code before I stopped working on it, in order to finish getting the screenshots, so that's good?
Anyway here is an overview of the pottery mod so far, and my plans for it:
Interaction
I have a Make Ceramic interaction, with the converted sims 4 pottery wheel, where you can pick the ceramic to make and the sim will sit at the wheel, and make it! I still have more animations to convert but I might not do all of them for simplicity's sake.
Skill
Currently just have a basic pottery skill, which will determine which items your sim can make, but I could add a couple of skill stats and maybe challenges.
Objects
I've also made some progress on converting the sims 4 pottery objects, but it will also be easy to add other objects to the XML file if you want.
Glazing
I also have an XML set up for selectable glazes, so you can pick in game which sims 4 glaze you want for the sims 4 objects, as well as a default one which will be fully CAStable. It's therefore possible to add selectable glazes to other objects, but you'll need to be comfortable adding the textures as material states rather than regular presets. But CASt has you covered anyway :p
Kiln
The kiln object is where you finish the ceramics, either choosing a sims 4 glaze or a normal CAStable version. Sims 4 has the kiln process be almost instant, but I have it so the ceramic will take a few hours to finish and your sim can come and pick it up later - like the nectar machine from WA.
Still to do:
Finish converting the sims 4 ceramics
Set up the glazes for them
Add more pottery animations
Skill improvements
Add sounds to wheel and kiln
Mod in action:

Hi, I love your works!! I was wondering where you find the original, unedited pictures you use for your art? Do you take them yourself or find them online?
Hey there! I get them from many different sources! Whenever I can I use my own, and sometimes my followers send me cool pics to use (or put them up in the Sacrificial Altar channel in my Discord), but I find most of what I use through public domain sources online!
For the online part, I put this little list together with some of the common resources I use! Feel free to share it around and copy it:
For an easier experience, I'll copy the relevant part below:
STOCK SITES
- Unsplash: Usually the best quality out of the free stock sites. They’ll try to sell you a subscription plan but you can ignore that.
- Adobe Stock: Select “Free” on the dropdown menu next to the search bar. The free image selection here is big and high-quality, though they feel more like stock pictures than natural photos. Note: They limit how many pictures you can download per account per day, but you can make several accounts to circumvent this if you use it a lot.
- Texturelabs: lots of free, very high-quality textures!
- Pexels: Similar to Unsplash, but it has more pictures with people. If you need a photo with models, this is usually the best place.
- Pixabay: Widest selection, but worst quality control. Go here if you haven’t found anything in other sites and don’t mind sifting through a bunch of garbage pics and occasional AI images.
PUBLIC DOMAIN SOURCES
- Wikimedia Commons: an enormous selection of CC and public domain pictures. Super useful, especially for the really specific images that you'd expect to find on a Wikipedia article. Always check the copyright conditions! To filter by license, search something and then click on the License dropdown under the search bar. Select “No restrictions” for public domain images.
- Picryl: A repository of public domain sources, ranging from ancient historical books and artifacts to fairly modern pictures. If you're looking for something old/historical, chances are it's here! This website is probably one of the most complicated ones to use, so here are three important tips before you use it:
This site added a paywall that appears after the 3rd page of search results. To remove it, install uBlock Origin, go to the “My Filters” page (clicking on the gear icon after opening the extension), and paste this filter: picryl.com##._9oJ0c2
After searching, use the timeline on the top right to narrow down the result by year.
It won’t let you download the full picture without paying, but it always has a link to the source site below the description. Click on that, then copy-paste the image’s name to find it in the original source. That way you can get it for free, and often in better quality than Picryl offers.
National Archives Catalog, The Library of Congress, NASA, and Europeana have wide selections, but they are included in Picryl so it’s usually better to search there and then download them in the source as mentioned above!
- Flickr Search: a ton of usable pictures with a generally more amateur feel, just remember to filter by license using the “Any license” dropdown menu. When you find an image, make sure to check its specific license (you can find it below the image, on the right side).
- Openverse: The official Creative Commons archive, has many sources! Includes other sites on this list, but has a lot of clutter if you don’t filter.
- iNaturalist: a repository of user-submitted images of animals, plants, and fungi. Look for a genus or species, then navigate to the photo list and filter by license.
MUSEUM COLLECTIONS
- The Met: An amazing selection of artifacts from all over the world, with top quality photographs of most of them (usually with several angles for each). You can filter images by material, location, and era.
- Getty Museum: Another smaller selection of museum pieces, but this one includes old photos as well as artifacts. You can also filter by dates, materials and cultures. Make sure you include the “Open Content” filter to only see public domain things!
- Smithsonian: Big selection of around 5 million museum pieces, with some 3D scans of museum pieces. Most pieces just have a single picture that can sometimes be low quality, but pieces with 3D models sometimes also include a lot of high quality photos from multiple angles. This collection also includes things from museums of natural history, so you can also use it to search for bones and specimens.
- Artvee: public domain classical art. They make you pay to download high-quality images.
If you guys got any others, please let me know and I'll add them to the collection!

Steb sighs deeply as he takes off his blue jacket, completely tired out by that day. He is taking his boots when he notices a red petal on the ground. Looking up he discovers a trail of those from the entry to up the stairs.
His ears flap once, wondering what you are up to.
He walks up the stairs to the dark upper floor, only guessing rays of light from under the bedroom door. He pushes it open to discover the room lit by candle lights, rose petals everywhere on the bed, and a divine-smelling incense burning on the furniture.
"Hello Mister."
Steb turns his head toward your voice and discovers you in a laced babydoll, posing against the doorframe with a seductive smile. He can only gulp, his cheek scales waving under an intense emotion as he details the fabric hugging your forms in a revealing fashion.
You Know he adores this babydoll...
"Hard day, handsome?" You continue, "Why don’t you lay down and... Relax. I'll take care of everything." You promise,
You approach your fiance, tracing the lines of his wide shoulders with your manicured nail, feeling the underlying tension of his tight muscles. You tut and press yourself against his back, starting to caresse his stomach and abs under his shirt while you kiss his neck gently. Steb lets out a sigh as he gulps under your touch, appreciating your caress while your lips tease his gills.
“Take off that shirt and go lay down mon tout beau.” You nip his earlobe.
He shakily nods before parting, taking off his tight shirt, revealing his deliciously sculpted shoulders to your ravenous view. He climbs on the bed and lays down on his stomach with a long sigh, trying to let his muscles relax.
You join him, sitting on his legs you take a bottle of lavender and rosemary oil that you apply onto your hands, coating them well. You lather his back with some too and you start massaging his back while humming a tune.
You know your stuff very well and you locate his tension points in his shoulders, where his muscles are knotted and stiff, contracted painfully hard under the green skin. You press them down with your thumbs then knead the area with your hands well. You massage his neck, his shoulders, his back, his side, and his lower back.
Very early, the rumbling sound of Steb’s purr starts resonating in the bedroom, fully ready to go to sleep under your care. As your massage progresses, you visibly see his muscles relaxing, slouching down on the mattress as he gains back some flexibility thanks to your magical touch.
“Does it feel good, mon beau?” You ask lascively, brushing his shoulders.
For sole response, you get a sleepy hum like he was on the verge of sleeping for good, fully relaxed. You cannot help but chuckle at your fiance’s demeanor.
That must have been a very hard day for him to fall asleep that early in the evening! He desperately needs to steam off!
And you have just the thing!
You press yourself on him to kiss his cheek.
“Roll on your back, mon tout beau! I am not done with you.”
He reopens his eyes, blinking, fighting the somnolence as he rolls, yawning deeply. You leave the bed to open a drawer of the chest of drawers. You turn toward your lover, eyes closed, mind absently caressing his own chest as it rises up and down with deep breaths.
So adorable... Lil sleepy head!
You takes a lube bottle and search a lil more.
Where did you put it again? It’s his favorite, you better not have lost it!
Ah, there it is!
You take out a long textured toy, full of ‘veins’ and with three knots on its length getting wider and wider as you approach the base. It is made of a soft material, easy for Steb’s sensible inner skin, with bold colors and a motored head.
It cost you a little fortune. Steb saw it in a sex store and expressed his desire to see you ride such a thing one day, a bit clumsily and trying to make a silly joke to make you laugh. You considered it for a moment before expressing your own curiosity to see Steb riding you with it.
His laugh immediately died to be replaced by a bright red color on his cheek.
You ended up trying the toy the same evening. A great purchase!
You pass the toy on and pinch your skin closing the leather straps like a dummy. You approach the bed to observe your lover, he appears so peaceful and at ease like that... Such a serene expression, it is marvelous to see.
He deserves the rest and the peace after everything that happened...
You kiss his nose playfully.
“Take off your pants, handsome.” You whispers.
He slightly reopens his eyes, discovering the toy on your hips. He exhales in slight shock but opens his pants and slides them down with some hurriedness. He goes to roll back on his stomach but you stop him.
“No, stay on your back. I want to see you tonight...”
He nods as his cheek scales wave lasciviously, full of expectation. He takes off his boxers and ends up naked on your shared bed, ready for you to ravish him completely.
You approach on all four and kiss his lips languorously, inviting him to lay back down gently. You caress his lips with your fingertip then his chin and neck. You go south to his chest then abs, tracing waves on his body until you reach his cock. You trace its entire length, making it jolt at your touch.
You smile as you sit down between his long legs, parting them wide for you. You grab the lube and lather the dildo generously until it’s dripping wet and slippery.
You would hate to hurt your beloved fishboy.
You place yourself comfortably, hands on his inner thighs to keep them wide apart as he gulps, digging his nails in the sheet, eyes on you.
You give him a kiss.
“Relax baby. I am taking care of everything.”
He exhales, his chest rising up and down dramatically at the sight of the sex toy. You press the tip to his tight ring of flesh and push further gently.
Steb growls, eyes closed, but you feel him opening up to you, relaxing around the toy. You keep pushing the length inside, getting wider and wider until Steb cries out pathetically, arching his back.
“Come on now!” You tut, “You’re a big boy! You always made it fit, it’s going to be all right, I know you can do it.”
And you keep pushing. Steb mewls and whines but you go slowly, giving him time to adjust to the size. He always made it fit, he loves this toy! He just needs a little minute.
When finally your hips meet, Steb opens his mouth wide in a silent cry, stretched to his maximum for both of your pleasure.
“Are you okay, handsome?”
He bites his lips and nods, his cheek scales twitching as his gills are open wide in a muscular reflex. You give him time, adjusting your hair to not bother you during the session.
“That’s my good boy!” You compliment him, leaning forward to kiss his nose tip.
That movement makes him moan irrepressably, just like you love it. You brush your nose to his with a chuckle as he wriggles under you, hissing at the weight inside of him. You straighten your back, sit on your knees, and start stroking his cock as you wait for him to be ready.
He gulps, his face slowly relaxing as he takes a deep breath. You press a button at the base of the toy and hear the little motor start. Steb immediately tenses up with a whine as the tip starts moving inside of him.
“Does it feel good, beautiful?” You ask, looking down at your beloved like a goddess from the sky.
He gasps and moans as he shakily nods, already losing himself in the pleasurable sensations provided. You slightly slide out and push back in gently, testing his reaction. He whines and starts drooling a bit, gripping the pillow with his desperate hands.
You gently start thrusting, giving pleasure to your beloved. It is slow and languid like he loves as you caress his inner thighs. He whines and whimpers deliciously to your ears as his body slowly facilitates your movements, allowing the strap to ease in and out, making sweet love.
Steb throws his head to the side, biting down the pillow as he takes a fistful of the sheet, threatening to tear the fabric apart with loud begging sounds
Begging to stop
Begging to continue
Begging to slow down
Begging to accelerate
Begging for all and its contrary.
You install a steady pace as you witness his cock gorging itself with blood, rising up slowly as you play with his sensitive body.
“Look at me, Steb.” You order.
Lost in the sensations, Steb doesn’t react, still pressing his face into the pillow. You grab his jaw to force him to look at you. He looks at you with teary, feverish eyes, drooling on your hand uncontrollably, his green stripes turning red with lust.
“Look at me handsome.” You demand
He nods with a yelp as you keep rolling your hips so deliciously. He grabs your hand holding his hips and intertwines your fingers together, begging for your love on him. His gills are wide open while his scales undulate like a wave of the ocean and his ears flap around with excitation and glee.
“Does it feel good, mon beau? What do you want?”
Steb grabs your shoulder and presses you down against his naked body, circling your shoulders with his arms and your waist with his legs. He hugs you tight as you embrace him in return, making love together.
You hear him pants in your hear and try to formulate words his treacherous vocal cords refuse to form, to his torment.
You know he wants to tell you he loves you, but he cannot. So you repeat to him every day in return. And he shows it with hugs, kisses, and giving you support for everything.
He just loves you so much!
And you love him back!
“I... I-I...”
“I know baby, I know. Do not worry, I already kno-”
But he presses his hand on your mouth, silencing you. He seems to focus hard, closing his eyes and frowning as he tries to breath between your thrusts.
“I... I lo... I love you...” He manages at last, forcing his vocal cords to work despite the pain, “Kiss me.”
He retracts his hand to force your head down and kisses you himself. He licks your lips to open your mouth and pushes his tongue inside gently between moans and whimpers. His hands caress your back until it grabs your ass to help you thrust into him while he bites your lower lips, robbing you both of your breath.
Finally, he comes hard, with a deep and long mewl in your ear as he presses you tight against himself. You feel his cock twitch, pressed between your two stomachs as it spurts his semen on your skins. He digs his nails in your flesh as he cums, locking you in his embrace to not let you escape under any pretenses.
He finally relaxes with a sigh, kissing your temple lovingly. You kiss his nose and lips in return, cupping his cheeks softly as he purrs deeply.
“How was it, mon beau?”
You feel his hands traveling from your back to your waist as he tries to open the straps of the toy. He presses the button to stop the motor and slides it off of him with a grumble to feel so empty now.
You go to stand up and fetch a towel to dry you both of his cum and sweat but he grabs your arm to pull you back down and rolls on top of you as he kisses you all over your face with hungry eyes.
Suddenly he doesn’t appear as tired now! He slides his hands under your babydoll and starts kneading your boobs as he nips your collarbone lovingly.
It appears it is his turn to have fun!
