what was your first kirby game

I don't remember if it was either Kirby's Return to Dreamland or Kirby Super Star Ultra. I'm kind of leaning to Kirby's Return to Dreamland as my in-law gave me an emulator on my PC to play Super Star.

Despite being a big Kirby fan, I think I got into Kirby surprisingly "recently". Only reason I would count it was recent is because I think RTDL was the start of Kirby's "modern era". I don't remember if that's actually a thing or something I made up. Maybe it's because it was the first "proper"/consistent step of Kirby taking a 3D look or something. Regardless, I'm happy RTDL was one of my first games (if it isn't my first) to introduce me to Kirby, it's such a solid game with really really good music. I often look back to it whenever I think about playing Kirby.

If SSU was my first... Uhm... I hate the Great Cave Offensive <3 LMFAODFGJGKDBJKDFGB I remember having such a hard time playing that game, maybe it doesn't help that the fact I was using an emulator over a DS but regardless. But the stuff I post here isn't actually written out and posted anywhere else, and my ao3 (posted stories) is pretty bare. Like, I only touch it to read other people's stuff at this point

Everything I do write is OC stuff though, and that's not everyone's jam

The stuff I do post here all comes from my notes for said fic ideas. They're all fleshed out enough that I can write them into proper stories. Like, the whole plot is figured out, I know where to end, character perspectives, all that jazz. I just don't write them out, since I don't have that motivation, and the stories would end up huge

I don't like posting the actual stories either. People have asked for updates on the new chapters I just put down, and I've run into a lot of copy-pasters. Even the few things I have on ao3 is having a mimic somewhere. So I otherwise keep everything to myself, or post little things here

I've been going through my past stuff lately to reorganize. It's fun. Even if they're old (some are over 5 years old), I find little gems that surprise me like these

hi. just wanna say i think its very interesting the way you (and your friends) approach shipping. i say this as someone fully neutral in the jiles v garashir war. ive just never seen anyone analyze shipping the way you described in that post and i think its because ds9 (and andrew robinson) exist in a canon-to-fanon space that few other shows/series have. like your post is a very interesting (and accurate?) analysis but ive never seen it applicable elsewhere

thank you! i think it's more that i'm approaching this topic more as an amateur historian than anything else, with a focus on queerness as a topic and a lens to read through. a queer reading of media that is close to my heart is something that makes me feel closer to myself, and although i know that that read may not have exactly been what the showrunners had in mind there still is something there in my opinion.

i think that more people should take up media analysis of their favourite shows in addition to enjoying them and shipping the characters in a lighthearted way if they find that it suits them. i am a strong advocate for the general public developing better media literacy skills , and if some of my funny deep space 9 posts can encourage others to take steps towards developing better media literacy then i'd feel like i contributed something meaningful.

on that note, i do have to disagree with you that this kind of analysis isn't applicable in other contexts! i think that where there is media, there can be pragmatic and enriching analysis of that media, whether it's about shipping, thematic elements, values, or any other element that may be of interest. the arts have so much to offer apart from entertainment value, and it's often an untapped resource in fandom content .

in essence, what i mean to say is that response to what we take in is what creates art and culture, whether that is in the form of fanart, fanfiction, or any other purposeful creation of anything inspired by what we as the public consume. so whenever you create based on what you consume, that is a form of media analysis that should be recognized for what it is and celebrated.

my english grammar and vocabulary! i think i write much better in my native language, but my writing partner isnt fluent in that, so we "resort" to english! and when i write on my own its really an audience thing. i want to write more in my native, but writing the thing, and then translating it so i can share it with a broader audience is a bit tedious...

Hi! I was just wondering, do you have a blog or tag for your art?

Hi!! That’s a very valid question with only a mildly complicated answer lol.

So for art before 2017 I used to use the tag “my art” but Besides like two other drawings I really haven’t posted my artwork on tumblr. As I’ve gotten older I’ve unfortunately gotten really insecure about how my work looks to others and just haven’t been posting my work anywhere.

HOWEVER! This is something I’m actively working on improving and I want to get better at. I was thinking of creating a new art tag for anything post 2020 + uploading some recent-ish pieces. I am lining a piece right now that I’ll definitely be posting and I have a small handful of animated projects and experiments I could post if people would be interested. I also have a underwater puppeted project that I did for my thesis film.

I’ll probably use the tag #Bunny Draws for 2020+ pieces. Here’s a sneak peak of my Bostonian Miku, and hopefully I’ll get up the courage to post some of my other stuff from the last couple of years lol
