Writing - everything from technical documents for my job, emails, journaling, fic writing, blogging. I love writing, and I love the clickety clack sounds of keyboards, and the pop! sound of the lid coming off of the fountain pen and the snick of pen across paper.

Doing intricate, complicated things with my hands - playing piano, knitting, shuffling cards, binding books, wrapping presents.

Two physical sensations that I am going to cheat and shove into one item: the feeling of sinking into a hot bath, the feeling of taking off in an airplane. I'm so thrilled every time.

When my cat does a weird swan dive down my shin to melt in a fat furry puddle on top of my feet because he loves it when I come home.

Making a big fuss over little creatures - cats, dogs, babies and toddlers, hamsters, birds etc. If you're little and even a little bit up for it, I am going to hype you up so bad.

Nature - specifically my dogs and horse, they're the best!

Music - listening to, playing guitar and singing.

Writing - whether fanfic or original, I love creating other worlds and new stories and sharing that with others.

TV/Movies - relaxing with my fave shows is the best way to unwind (Leverage, The English, Teen Wolf, M*A*S*H, etc)

Gaming - Dragon Age games are massive for me, as is AC Valhalla, and I'm finally getting into BG3!

I have just about the most 2001 name possible and I'm not gonna like. Put my full government name out there but I always get to tell people I was named after a spice girl and 9/11 so shout out to my parents for that

I'm in the process of learning 3 languages?? I'm at different levels of fluency for all of them but the end goal is being a literary translator so I've really picked up the studying this year for those

My usual coffee I make at home is Tim Hortons maple flavored coffee with 2.5 spoons of sugar and hazelnut creamer and I've almost been banned from drinking it in the house because the hazelnut and maple smells stay around the house for an entire day

In no particular order:

1. Hanging out with my friends both here in the WIR fandom and on other mediums/in-person!

2. Writing and headcanon-crafting in general is just a super-rewarding feeling for me, once I get going it just flows

3. Immersing myself in a game/movie/show I enjoy, which is really calming (especially after work)

4. Going for walks, it's really peaceful and I meet a lot of dogs!

5. Tinkering with game consoles and other electronics, I love cleaning and refurbishing them because it's very satisfying (tied with yardsaling and thrifting, which is where I find most of what I work on)

So, there must be a ton of people thirsting over him on the internet. Fancams, edits, fanfics and imagines ("kidnapped with Bruce Wayne 😍 by a Gotham rogue"), the whole charade!

And anytime one of the batkids stumbles on a thirst post, they have the most dramatic disgusted reaction, loudly gagging, before sending the link to the batkids chat, because if they must suffer, then they should all suffer. Clicking on a link in this groupchat is like playing russian roulette, and getting rickrolled is a good ending.

i got my isbn today for the book. 8 months to go. my mom and i were talking about what the next steps are. i was eating trail mix, standing on one foot, phone tucked into my ear.

"yeah," i said. "the problem is that tumblr as a market is like, not something that can be studied." there's this weird wave of nostalgia and affection for this place that came up over me: how lovely we avoid consumerism. okay, it sucks as a creator. but also? keep stickin' it to 'em.

my mother made the sound at the back of her throat that i also make, the one that means i've got an idea. "you should figure out some kind of reward for presale amounts. maybe you give out poems or a mug or a signed book or something. would your followers like that?" my mother is sweet, and kind, and i have no idea how to explain on this website you can buy someone crabs.

i put more m&ms down the hatch. i had to speak through peanuts and almonds. "if it passes 25 thousand i will print the book out in its entirety and eat it live on camera."

"oh god. no, you don't have to do that." she was anguished. "just tell them that you'd love them to read it, and that they've inspired you to write. you got started on that site, and they helped you keep going. raquel, you love these people. the community? you talk all the time about the other writers and artists and whatever else. tell them that you're hoping for their support, they'll come through."
