SO. Turns out that Danny is apparently a clone. Who knew? Not him! Would have loved to know that earlier, but he doesn’t exactly have time to freak out about that because Ellie is melting. She’s going to die if he doesn’t do something and he already gave so much ecto that they both look ten now, but the only thing he can do is pray to everything and Clockwork that this portal works. 

Because Ellie needs their Original’s dna to stabilize her, not his own slowly destabilizing blood, and that means going to another dimension to where they’re still alive. This has to work- even if they can never go back, it’ll be worth it if he can just make sure Ellie lives. She’s all he has now.

Had an idea for a Poe drawing, since he’s canonically a military grade sniper I wondered when he would’ve entered the military.

Its implied his Guild arc is mostly spent writing his book, and his early twenties were spent with detective work as seen in the flashback to the detective competition.

Thus, he was in the army presumably in his teen years, 15 and up.

And ofc my doodle of it as a little Polaroid with a Kate Bush reference. He couldn’t have his eyes covered and therefore had shorter bangs

Danny and Wes find themselves in the DC world after a portal incident. No they aren’t speaking about it, why would they need to? The issue is that they’re younger than they should be and it’s a lot harder to do things to try and get back home when people try to get them to go with them or go to the police or whatever. 

It’s not like they’re actually five year olds- they were almost graduating! One more week of school! ONE! So maybe they’re salty about it and maybe they both have latched onto each other as the literal only familiar thing in this situation. They don’t have co-dependence, really! 

But still, they have things to do! So if people could stop trying to stop them in concern that would be great! Aren’t big cities supposed to be horrible or something?!

Thinking about Araragi’s general perception of Hitagi and how he’s always wondering if it’s an act(esp in the pov of the light novels) when she shows something like vulnerability or some other emotion that comes from a sincere place.

And ultimately, as per the themes of monogatari of “fake versus real”. it’s not about rather it’s an act. The fact she is making that effort, and that it creeps in to begin with when they’re alone in a tender moment, is what gives the act meaning - for her to change is not faking, but her earnest effort to embody someone who is open to being vulnerable even when it’s difficult or feels scary. When she’s talking about stars to him and showing him the sky, she’s bearing herself even though this expression of self is not normal for her. And yet she does so anyways. Because she wants to be someone who can be vulnerable.

This also opposite/foil to hanekawa’s arc where she’s the “real thing”. She is the earnest and genuine “madonna”, a good person without “any flaws” because of how her trauma lets her essentially cut away negative feelings about everything and everyone. However Hitagi points out it’s more like she doesn’t comprehend danger or refuses to see it but either way, she is the “real thing”(or so araragi believes) as Hitagi puts it. And her arc is ultimately about learning to accept duality - learning not to be “real”, but human. For all it’s flaws and it’s proneness to perceived “fakeness” - but having mixed emotions isn’t fake. It’s apart of living.

TL;DR Hitagi and hanekawa have a similar core arc of trying to grasp their core sense of self with their efforts, neither being more fake or real than the other. As the show says, people save themselves and people are best at changing themselves if they earnestly want that, which these two prove time and time again. And in the end, they are both authentic.

there’s something to be said about the fact that janus is the most professional out of all the sides. i genuinely think that he’s the only side playing his part because it’s his job, and not because he has any personal feelings attached.

virgil showed signs of genuinely wanting to be accepted and loved by thomas and the other sides. logan definitely values thomas’s validation a lot and becomes sad when he doesn’t get that validation. remus.. might actually be the second most professional side. but since he seems to work under janus (janus sending him over to thomas and telling him what to do), i guess a lot of that professionalism comes from janus himself. remus isn’t as stupid as he seems obviously, but he doesn’t have a clear-cut agenda like janus does.

i just think it’s interesting to see a side who is only concerned with thomas’s well-being because it’s their job and they want to do a good job. even janus’s frustration at thomas not taking his advice and later his excitement about thomas acknowledging his points came off to me as someone dealing with their kinda shitty boss (no offense to c!thomas, i just imagine that’s how janus views him lol). of course, janus has some fun at his job but i mean, i would too if no one ever listened to me and i’m automatically labelled as the bad guy.

all of this is slowly beginning to change since janus seems to be getting closer to patton but i guess we’ll have to wait and see if they actually become friends or if they’re more like coworkers on friendly terms.

trent never really liked parties. sometimes its way too loud, way too stuffy, and way too many people. if it was his teammates or friends he was fine. but sometimes it was strangers that just loves to ask too many questions that he feels like he’s in an interview more than a conversation. some just wanted to hear the drama about the transfers and relationships rumours.

“so trent, the fans want to know if you’re seeing someone or not.”

speaking of relationship rumours.

trent involuntary scrunched his face. if he hears that question one more time or anything related to that he is going to go crazy. the amount of times he has to dodge answering that question this night alone was insane.

it all started with a viral tweet recently that went out on how trent was always “seen” with this one person, a girl specifically, over these past weeks. everyone went haywire with assumptions. articles were posted, people were flooding his dms and his ig posts are full of comments about this mysterious girl.

who? when? how?!

“hello, pardon, i’m so sorry to interrupt, but can i steal him for a bit.”

timing couldn’t have been anymore perfect.

he snapped his head towards you so fast, you can positively hear his neck crack. with the sound of your voice, he could suddenly feel the clouds clearing, the room felt less stuffy, the birds were chirping and everything seemed fine.

your hands wrapped around trent’s forearm, moving to stand close to him, as you smiled politely at the person in front of him.

in all honesty you have been keeping your eyes on him ever since you saw an interviewer that you recognised speaking to him. with trent’s body language, anyone could tell that he wanted to get out of that conversation. so you excuse yourself from your friends and made your way to trent, a strategy already in mind.

the person nodded their head quickly, “yes, yes of course miss.” before they cheekily added, “wouldn’t want to keep you away from your man.”

trent internally cringed, he doesn’t want you to be embarrassed but instead he heard you giggle, your hands squeezing his bicep tighter. but trent knows you, he knows that was not your real laugh.

but when he turned to look at you, he can see that your eyes were sparkling, you were wearing an adorable smile that pulls on his heartstrings, the lights of the room making your skin all glowy and he thinks he might pass out.

as you both bid your goodbyes, trent immediately rested his warm hand at your back, guiding you through the room. you both ended up in a secluded area, hoping that it was out of the eyes of other people. but that proved wrong because you could feel every pair of eyes on you and trent as you both walked together.

leaning against a wall, you turned to look into his brown eyes that you have become fond of. you smiled at him, eyes involuntary dropping down to his rose tinted lips as he licked them, before it curls into one of his pretty grin that never fails to make you swoon.

suddenly you look over trent’s shoulder, you saw a group of people taking picture of both of you.

you rolled your eyes, trying to ignore how your heart was beating like crazy, —this gorgeous man was standing right in front of you. you could smell his cologne, you needed to calm down— “you’re very welcome by the way.”

with the smirk never leaving his face, he took a step forward towards you, closing in on your space. you could see his dimples better like this.

“aren’t worried that people are going take our pictures together? with the rumours?” you voiced out, concern plastered on your face.

he shrugged, “nah, not really. reporters say a lot of things, doesn’t really bother me.”

you slowly nodded your head in understanding, lips pursed as a second of silence passed. “so…”

“so…” trent coughed out, he moved between the balls of his feet, “wanna get out of here?” he whispered, scrunching his nose in a way that has you smiling like a lovesick fool.

your nervously looked to the crowd, seeing if anybody was still staring. when you were positive no one was, you looked at trent, nodding with a smile, “yeah, okay.” you took his hand in yours, missing the way his eyes went wide and a shy smile appeared on his lips.

he interlock your fingers together, “let’s go, then.”

you don’t think you’re going to beat the allegations anytime soon.
