#the choice is between buying a puppy and never having a dog

Idk unpopular opinion but. Buying a puppy from a responsible breeder who doesn’t allow any dog they’ve bred to end up in a shelter is a morally neutral act
#like buying from backyard breeders is bad. morally bad#if the breeder does not have a clause in their contract about taking the dog back no matter the circumstances if you can’t care for it#then do not buy a dog from that breeder under any circumstances#but like. for me#the choice is between buying a puppy and never having a dog#I am not a potential home for a shelter dog. I want and need a healthy dog with no preexisting behavioral issues#and the only way to get that is a health-tested puppy from a responsible breeder who has worked on socializing their dogs from day one#am I not deserving of animal companionship bc I’m not comfortable with the idea of devoting my entire life to a dog#with difficult-to-manage behaviors?#idk I just think that people sometimes really really buy into the ‘adopt don’t shop’ idea without completely thinking it through#it’s a good slogan! and most people can’t differentiate between responsible and irresponsible breeders!#so it’s true most of the time#but. stop acting like someone who would choose not to have a dog before adopting a shelter dog is personally killing shelter dogs#huh after typing this out I’m realizing that maybe I’m just afraid of any dog that I don’t know literally everything about 🙃#just almost been bit way too many times to trust dogs now#anyway! if you’re less traumatized by dogs than me please adopt. shelters don’t adopt dogs to people they can’t handle#I’m just unreasonably terrified of dogs now :) hope that helps#for context worked at a dog daycare for a year and I’ve seen it all and almost got mauled by a boxer#and then almost got mauled by a Great Dane and then almost got mauled by a BMC then almost got mauled by a staffie#so like. I’m over and done with off-leash dog-to-dog interactions and I’m also not interacting with your dog unless#you can fill out a six page questionnaire on its behavior and triggers and literally everything

"are you still mad at me?"
you look up from your phone, coming face-to-face with your boyfriend who's taken a seat in front of you. he has a pout on his stupid, beautiful face that constantly reminds you of a cute puppy dog, but you remind yourself to reel your emotions in and not succumb to his adorable expressions.
"yes."
"does this mean i have to sleep on the couch tonight?"
you nod, afraid that you'll give in if you open your mouth once more.
"okay. goodnight then," he whispers, sounding so dejected that you want to pull him close and hug him tight.
"goodnight."
as he shuts the door behind him, you sigh, pulling the bedsheets over your face. technically, you don't need to be so harsh with him for going live when you're in class, but it's been happening too often and you need to put him in his place. even if his place is on the couch.
you don't tell him that his lives are some of the only ways you can connect with him during his busy schedule. just seeing him talk in real-time, even if it's through a screen filtered to millions of fans, is enough for you. however, it's been increasingly hard to do so when he goes live when you're busy, despite him already knowing your schedule, and you miss seeing his pretty face every day.
not that you'd ever tell him that, of course. he doesn't need any more of a reason to tease you.
you shift around in bed for a while, trying to fall asleep. you never realized how cold your shared room is, or how empty the bed seems without him there. even when he comes home late at night from work, you fidget in restless sleep until he wraps an arm around you and brings you in close.
it's only been five minutes and you're already regretting your choice. however, you're a little too petty to retract your decision, so you mentally prepare yourself for the long night ahead.
well, at least until the door opens.
"baby? are you asleep?"
you sit up straight, the bedsheets ruffling around you as you spot eric standing at the door. the yellow light peeks through the gap, shining softly on his face, and you suddenly feel as if you're falling in love with him all over again with his mussed-up hair and comfortable hoodie.
"i'm not. what's wrong?" you whisper, your voice thick from (trying to) sleep.
he shuffles slightly, playing with the ends of his sleeves as you note the discomfort on his face.
"the couch is really uncomfortable."
you sigh, annoyed, although some part of you is jumping for joy at the implications of his words.
"eric—"
"i promise i won't roll over to your side. i won't even touch you, i swear! we can put pillows between us and i won't even talk to you."
already, you're shifting to the side and patting the bed. you hope he doesn't notice how your face lights up in the darkness of the room, but you have a slight inkling that he knows anyway.
he grins, muttering words of gratitude as he jumps into the space beside you. he puts a pillow in between when he sees you rolling your eyes, but he lies down hugging it as if it's a teddy bear.
as you both settle down to sleep, the drowsiness automatically comes to you as if it were there all along. you know this is eric's effect on you, one of many that he's brought into your life, and although it's slightly annoying at times, you wouldn't have it any other way.
"i'm sorry again," eric blurts, watching as you turn over so you can face him, "i didn't know you kept up with my lives like that. i'll make sure i plan them with your schedule in mind."
"of course i watch your lives, eric, i'm literally dating you. i guess you're forgiven though, but we still have to keep the pillow."
he laughs, and you find yourself grinning, burrowing your face into the sheets.
"question, though. was the sofa actually that uncomfortable? if it was, we might need to buy a new one."
"no, it wasn't. i just wanted to sleep next to you."
"i'm five seconds away from kicking you out, eric."
"no! don't!" he pleads, reaching over to press kisses into your face, "we are soulmates, after all. we need each other, even if it's just to sleep."

Venus and Jake are very much a one cat, one dog family. I get the vibe from Venus that she loves all animals, but she just vibes with cats better and Jake is so dog coded. Definitely one to get a pure bred golden retriever or bring home a stray. No in between.
So when he tells Venus "I'm ready for a new addition to our family."
Which of course screws with Venus a bit because she just got used to the idea of being known, and now he just expects her to say 'yes' to having a child???
"I was looking at some dog shelters-"
She definitely has to be the strong one while he's planning a jail break. "Jake, I'm sorry, but we can't take them all."
"V, we can just buy a house on a piece of land, it'll be the dream. They can roam free. Look at their faces..."
And all she sees is his eyes and pure white smile next to a chihuahua that's vibrating into the next dimension. "Don't do that."
"Got you to cave once. I can wear you down again. And I've got some adorable friends this time."
And when he finally does take one to a room so that way they can play with them for a bit, he definitely tells the dog "go to your mama." And venus will never admit to the way it made her feel.
Not a thot, but a th❤(gh)t
I love this th♥️ght!
Venus loves all animals, but is drawn to cats due to how independent and selective they are. She and Jake adopt another kitty and name them Pastrami. Pastrami and Rugelach instantly bond.
Jake grew up on a ranch, so he loves any and all animals. I see him and Bob bonding over that (I headcanon that Bob grew up on a farm in the Midwest).
Oh God, he would ask it that way.
"Jake, that's a huge commitment and we just got married, don't you think we need some time to settle?" Venus asks, trying not to lose her shit.
Jake just nods like it's no big deal, "I get that. But I was looking at some dog shelters-"
Venus doesn't listen to the rest of his sentence because she's just thinking oh thank God he's talking about animals.
More cuteness underneath
"We are starting with one dog Jake. Our townhouse isn't big enough-"
"We can just buy a house," Jake shrugs as he continues to pet the German Shepard who has made their home into Jake's lap.
"You seriously want to buy a house just to have more dogs?"
"Not just more dogs. Eventually," Jake's cheeks begin to turn red, "Kids too."
Venus is doing everything not to appear flustered, "Slow down cowboy. Let's focus on a dog today."
They find this pitbull terrier mix. She had puppies before, and now that her pups have been adopted, the shelter wants her to find her forever home. Her name is Nellie and Jake is already thinking of what Jewish food they can rename her.
"That means she'll be good with other dogs and kids," Jake points out.
They take Nellie/Bagel (Jake's idea) into the playroom. Bagel is very curious about Jake (it's his Golden Retriever energy), whereas Venus is more calm and gives Bagel some space so they don't get overwhelmed.
"Alright Bagel, go to your mama!" Jake points to Venus and all of a sudden, she feels her stomach fluttering and a warm feeling washing over her.
Bagel's eyes perk up and she immediately goes over to Venus, who stretches out an open hand to let her sniff.
They take Bagel home that day.
Six months later, Jake comes home carrying a little black Labrador puppy.
"Jacob Seresin, why do you have a dog?!" Venus asks. Bagel's tail is wagging as she waits at Jake's feet.
"They were running along the highway and I knew a big storm was coming! I couldn't just leave them out there!" Venus can't even get mad because the dog is super cute and Jake's actions are secretly making her melt.
They do take the dog to the shelter but no one comes first the sweet little thing. And after seeing Bagel take such good care of them, Jake and Venus really have no choice but to adopt Lox.

Choosing the Right Dog Restraint: Collar vs. Harness
Tumblr media
Selecting the right way to keep your dog in check can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many options out there, and each claims to be the best. But picking the wrong one can not only cost you money but also affect your dog’s health and well-being. Dogs come in all shapes and sizes, and what works for one may not work for another. So, let’s help you decide between a collar and a harness by considering some important factors of Dog Leads And Accessories UK.
Collars – Good Collars Accessories For Some Dogs:
Collars are handy for identification, and they work well for dogs that don’t pull on their leash because they don’t restrict movement.
It’s crucial to ensure a collar fits correctly. You should be able to slip two adult fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck.
Avoid using collars if your dog pulls a lot. The pressure on the neck, even at lower forces, can harm muscles, nerves, and more over time.
Brachycephalic breeds (dogs with short snouts like pugs) should never wear collars. They can worsen breathing issues and eye problems.
Growing puppies are better off with a well-fitting harness to protect their developing bodies.
Harnesses Accessories- Often a Better Choice:
Harnesses are great for control, reducing neck pressure, training against pulling, and various work purposes.
However, not all harnesses are created equal. The fit and design matter.
Two Main Factors to Consider:
1. Harness Fit:
It’s essential to get the right-sized harness for your dog. Too big, and it might slip; too small, and it could pinch or restrict movement.
Like with collars, you should fit two fingers (no more) between your dog and the harness.
A well-fitted harness won’t chafe, irritate, or move around, and it’s especially crucial to check the fit for growing puppies.
2. Harness Design:
Some harnesses on the market don’t consider a dog’s anatomy and can restrict their movement.
Avoid harnesses with straps across the shoulders and chest, as they can hinder shoulder function and limb movement.
Remember, there’s usually a trade-off no matter which restraint you choose, so pick the one that suits your dog best. Most issues arise from dogs that pull too much, so consider training your dog not to pull for the best results.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~
"Pleeaasse, Wan" You pouted once again. You had been begging Wanda for the favour for an hour now; her stubborness was proving hard to overcome.
"I'm busy." Wanda said, her accent strong as she walked around her appartment to collect things for her next mission.
"But will you be busy on the 10th?" You asked from the couch where you watched her disappear into various rooms as she talked.
"I thought you said it was a few days." Wanda quipped, seemingly only giving you half her attention.
"It is." You confirmed with some hope.
"So I'd need to clear my schedule for more than just the 10th." You huffed and rested your head on the back of couch.
"Yes you would. I'm sure Natasha can manage without you for a few days."
"I wouldn't be too sure about that." She muttered.
"Please, Wan." You tried. "I need a win." Wanda stopped by the kitchen counter and gave you a long, considering look. You had long given up on your puppy dog eyes and instead copied her expression as you chewed on your bottom lip.
"I'll think about it." Wanda finally said before grabbing something from the cupboard. It was the best response you had gotten all night and you knew you wouldn't get anything more. So you accepted it and hoped for the best.
Your parents had invited you to their cabin for a few days just like they did every year. It was a beautiful place. You could spend your whole visit in the forest along the back. Or swimming in the clear lake that was a short walk away. The cabin itself was the cosiest place you had ever been and had been where some of your best memories had happened as a kid.
As you got older things changed. Being around your family, especially your parents, wasn't as enjoyable. They had high expectations for their children, expectations that your siblings had met without a problem but ones that you had struggled with. You enjoyed your life. You had the kind of relationships you had always hoped for, you loved your job and you had the perfect balance of the two. But you could never shake the feeling that you had failed.
Your brother was a surgeon who always told you all stories of the lives he saved and the close calls he had swooped in to save people from. One of your sisters was some hot shot lawyer who had done great things like help people wrongly convicted but still put dangerous people back on the street. And your other sister was the CEO of an energy company that you never quite understood. They even all had equally successful partners who loved to talk about themselves as much as your siblings did. You didn't have any of that. But you did have Wanda.
Knowing the Avengers was the only thing about you your family took interest in. They were always subtly hinting at wanting to meet your friends. But you knew the Avengers had to endure enough fan service and didn't want to push your family onto them, especially with how annoying they all were.
However as your family's unrealistic expectations reached their all time high you were sure you wouldn't be able to handle another trip with them without a win, and you were far too petty to take the moral high ground and just not go. Not to mention that was a huge part of you that was dying to see what the Wanda girlfriend experience would entail. Yep, that was what you were asking of Wanda. To pretend to be your partner for the duration of the trip.
You knew it wasn't a smart choice. That if Wanda agreed your crush on her could get out of hand. You knew you would end up getting too caught up in the act. You could have, no - should have - asked Natasha or Yelena or even Carol if she was around. But your family knew you were the closest with Wanda and she would be the one it felt the most natural with, and the most believable. At least, that was what you told Wanda.
"When are you going?" You asked, changing the subject in hopes that Wanda wouldn't suddenly conclude she didn't want to do it (then you really would have to ask one of the others).
"Tomorrow." She answered, keeping her focused tone.
"When will you be back?" You attempted to keep the concern out of your voice but the glance the redhead gave you told you you hadn't done a good job.
"The day after." She said, softer this time. You nodded as you looked down at your lap and tried not to think about everything that could possibly go wrong on her mission.
"Be safe." Wanda strolled over to you and placed her hand gently ontop of yours and gave it a quick squeeze.
"Always."
*
"Got any plans Saturday night?" Natasha smirked knowingly at her friend as they preped for their mission.
"No." Wanda replied as she adjusted her earpiece.
"Nothing with y/n then?" Nat asked, partly genuinely but mostly knowing Wanda would still say no.
"Nope." She said again, biting the inside of her cheek in consideration before speaking again. "Not this Saturday."
Natasha raised an eyebrow in surprise and interest. Wanda rarely made any kind of special plans with you as you would always hang out casual and it was never anything fancy or different. She had always wanted to though.
"Plans for another time?" Nat continued as she double checked her pack.
"Maybe, I'm still thinking about it." The redhead turned fully to her friend at her words, confused at why Wanda was hesitant to spend time with you. "She wants me to go to the cabin with her and her family." Nat had heard all about the infamous cabin and your family.
"That sounds fun." Nat nodded. The cabin sounded fun. Your family did not.
"As her girlfriend." Nat's eyes widened excitedly but before she could speak Wanda clarified. "Her pretend girlfriend."
Nat paused and looked as though she was going to speak for several seconds until she stuck to just giving a confused look.
"Yeah." Wanda sighed. "Thinks it would seem impressive." Wanda had tried not to be hurt over that. She knew you weren't just friends with her to show her off to people, because you never did. But it hurt her to think the only time you could see her in a romantic way was when you were pretending.
"Well," Nat muttered as she adjusted the zip along the front of her catsuit. "Fake it till you make it." It was Wanda's turn to give Nat a questioning look. "Maybe it'll be an eye opener for her."
"You think I should do it?" She asked, fully open to hearing and accepting her friend and mentor's advice in that area.
"Definelty." Nat confirmed. She wasn't sure about it for the reasons she said though. Wanda's crush on you was obvious to everyone except you, just as it was vice versa.
*
You had been overjoyed when Wanda told you she would come with you to the cabin and play along as your girlfriend. She had told you when she came back from her mission, in fact it was the first thing she said after she had let herself into your appartment. It was never really brought up after that, but you couldn't deny you were incredibly anxious on the week leading up to the visit.
On the drive up to the cabin you and Wanda stayed in a comfortable silence most of the time, clearly both lost in thought. You had the radio on for background noise more than anything else, but you would occasionally lightly tap the steering wheel if there was a tune you recognised, oblivious to Wanda's acknowledging smiles.
"So what's the plan?" Wanda asked as she looked at you expectantly. Right, of course the Avenger wanted a strategy.
"Keep things simple, I guess. They know how we met already so we can just say at some point we took things a step further than friendship." Wanda didn't seem convinced at the simplicity of that. "Look they're not going to want to hear about us, not much at least. They prefer the sound of their own voices, they'll be trying to impress you is all."
"Impress me?" Wanda asked.
"Yeah, hope you warm up to them so one day they can invite you to their snobby parties." Wanda chuckled her heart warming laugh as she glanced out of the window, knowing there was a lot of truth to what you said.
"And what are those like?" She enquired curiously.
"I wouldn't know, I've never been invited." You said simply. You had gotten over that a long time ago, gotten used to being forgotten. Wanda clearly hadn't though.
"It will be an honour to turn them down." Wanda said. You shook your head and smiled at her. That did sound pretty nice.
When the cabin came into sight between the trees your nerves spiked. You figited in your seat and bit your lip when you saw some of your family gathered outside, their attention instantly on you. You shot Wanda a quick smile which she returned before you got out of the car.
"Y/n! So nice of you to come." You mum said as her eyes flickered to Wanda more than you. She opened her arms for the shortiest hug in human history before turning to Wanda. "You must be Wanda, we've heard so much." You mum insisted as she brought the redhead in for a hug too. She raised her eyebrows at you over your mum's shoulder and you bite back a laugh.
The others came over to greet you and mainly Wanda in a rush, overwhelming both of you.
"You two will be in the upstairs bedroom on the left." Your mum told you as you went to grab your bags. You did a double take, convinced you had heard her wrong. That was the best room in the house. A big difference from being in the small room in the basement every other time you had been there.
"First one on the left." Your dad confirmed. There was no way your parents were going to be in the basement so you wondered who else had been moved around but didn't ask, knowing whoever it was wasn't going to be happy.
You and Wanda made your way up to the room and you couldn't help but smile at the sight of the spacious room and the door you knew led to your en suite.
"That was...a lot." Wanda summarised as she said her bag under the bed.
"I would tell you it gets better but I don't want to get your hopes up." You sighed as you got a couple of things out.
"It's just a few days." Wanda said despite the fact you should have been assuring her.
"Yeah." You nodded and stared down at the floor. "Now c'mon." You suddenly said as you took ahold of Wanda's hand and laced your fingers together. You missed the startled blush that crept onto her cheeks when you turned around.
Your family were sat outside whispering amongst themselves when you returned. Their interested gaze fell to your entwined hands in an instant.
"So you work with the Avengers?" Your brother, Dalton, said as soon as you both sat down.
"I do, I'm one myself." Wanda said as she continued to hold onto your hand.
"Must be crazy, what are they like?" He enquired.
"They're good." Wanda said simply. Everyone clearly expected something more but Wanda pretended not to notice making you smile.
"I almost did business with Stark once, decided against it in the end." Claire announced proudly. You and Wanda exchanged knowing glances. Stark had told you all about his encounter with your sister, it definetly wasn't her turning him down.
"I was invited to one of his parties." Anna said quickly. "I was busy that night unfortunately."
Bull. Shit.
"Yes I remember working with Doctor Strange when he was still in the medical profession." You gave Wanda an I-told-you-so look as your family erupted into conversation over who had the most contact with the heroes. That had to be a new record of how quickly they started talking about themselves.
They continued like that until your mum called everyone in for dinner. The food smelt undeniably amazing as you took your place at the table next to Wanda and eyed the dishes infront of you. Your parents efforts to impress the redhead weren't all that bad.
Your family continued to catch up and and you and Wanda half listened as you ate. They were all doing as well for themselves as ever and still hadn't learnt any modesty.
Although you were proud of your siblings for what they had all achieved, Wanda had contained four potentially devastating bombs from going off in the space of half an hour a week before but she wasn't going to bring that up anytime soon. Eventually though, the attention turned to you to bring you out of your silence.
"And you're still working in that little café, y/n?" Your mum asked curiously.
"I own it, mum." You corrected quietly as you stabbed some pieces on your plate.
"Ah yes, quite the contrast though, isn't it. Between you two." She said as she pointed at you and Wanda with her fork. You didn't say anything to that because you felt there really wasn't anything to say in response. It wasn't like you hadn't thought that exact thing every now and then.
"The team loves it." Wanda said suddenly making everyone, including you, look at her in slight surprise from speaking up. It hadn't taken your family long to learn Wabda wasn't much of a talker, not to them anyway. You couldn't get her to shut up half the time. "At least one of us goes everyday. If we're lucky we all can. Nothing beats it." She defended simply before turning back to her food to show she wasn't going to say anymore. You smiled down at your plate at her words and the truth of them.
No one said anything in response, clearly shocked from this new information until Dalton spoke up.
"But doesn't Stark like fancy, top of the line, restaurants? I can't imagine him in some random coffee shop, no offence sis." He nodded towards you though you knew he didn't mean it. He couldn't let you have just one win.
"That random coffee shop has catered some of Stark's parties. Not that many though." A smug smile crept onto Dalton's face as he opened his mouth to make a snarky remark but Wanda cut him down again. "Because y/n's invited to the rest as a guest and a close friend." Your family stared at you with open mouths.
"You've been invited to Stark's parties?!" Anna exclaimed. In your defence, your family never wanted to hear about your life so you never got the chance to tell them anything.
"It's not really my crowd." You shrugged. "I just go to hang out with them after." Dalton's jaw clenched in annoyance and he didn't say anything for the rest of dinner. It was only really your mum who kept talking. Telling everyone about her latest travels that fell on death ears.
It was certainly a first for your family.
When everyone had finished their food you and Wanda excused yourselves and said goodnight before retiring to your room. Wanda shut the door gently as you collapsed onto the bed on your back and glared at the ceiling. The redhead shuffled around quietly to get her toothbrush and toothpaste and some other things you weren't really paying attention to and went into the bathroom.
When she came back out she was in her bedclothes and lifted your feet off the floor to turn you so you could fully lay on the bed. You smiled at her weakly.
"You should go get changed." Wanda said as she got her laptop out her bag. "Then you can pick a movie." She announced when she had gotten under the covers and started her laptop. You smiled more and nodded.
You tried not to think about your family and everything they had said at dinner as you got changed but it proved difficult. Everything they had said echoed around in your head but most of all you couldn't shake the disregarding ways they said it. It was as though you could do no right with them. Maybe they would never be proud no matter what you did.
You placed your toothbrush back I'm the holder and rinsed your mouth before heading back into the bedroom to an awaiting Wanda.
You got under the covers next to her and rested your head on her shoulder as you glanced at the Netflix screen and pointed to one of the comedy movies.
About ten minutes into the movie Wanda spoke. "You okay?" She whispered as she continued to look at the screen although that wasn't where her focus was.
"Yeah." You whispered back.
"You can talk to me." She said after a second." You moved your head away so you could see Wanda clearly.
"I'm so glad you're here." You said honestly. She smiled and nodded as her eyes searched yours.
"I'm glad I'm here too." You knew Wanda wasn't glad she had to spend the time with your family. She was glad that she could support you despite their efforts to bring you down. You were incredibly lucky to have her.
You rested your head back on her shoulder and neither of you spoke for the rest of the movie. Or the rest of the night. You must have fallen asleep about half an hour in.
*
Wanda was one of the most intimate people you had ever met. It was mainly something she aimed towards you and Natasha but didn't refrain from comforting others and giving hugs to anyone who would take one. She never held back at all with you, as far as you knew. But when you woke up and couldn't tell where your limbs started and Wanda's ended, you were still surprised to find yourselves like that. Butterflies flew around in your stomach in a way you knew was dangerous but couldn't help but love.
You were resting your head on her rising chest and had your arm slung across her stomach. Your legs were tangled together and her arms were holding onto your waist. A warmth spread through you and you decided to settle back into her hold and closed your eyes with a content smile.
You had about ten minutes to enjoy that before Wanda woke up. You could feel the moment she realized you were so close, she physically froze. You waited in anticipation for something for several moments until your friend very slowly unhooked her legs and guided your body to lay against the mattress and pillows as she slipped out of bed towards the bathroom.
You sighed when you heard the door close and rubbed your eyes slowly, knowing you should get up but wishing more than anything that you could return to how you woke up.
"Morning." Wanda croaked when she left the bathroom and saw you sitting up in bed.
"Morning." You said back with a smile and tried not to focus on how ridiculously attractive her voice sounded.
You gathered some random clothes into a bundle and went into the bathroom to change again and brush your teeth. When you came out Wanda was pulling her shirt over her head and gave you a generous view of her toned stomach. That training with Natasha really was paying off. Your face heated up when you saw it and you turned away to pretend you hadn't seen when Wanda noticed you.
"Don't make a sound." Wanda warned. You glanced up at her with some confusion. "I don't think your family's awake yet, that means we get the kitchen to ourselves." She grinned and you did too.
You and Wanda had gotten so used to getting up early for your jobs you forgot other people would still be sleeping. It was hard to break out of the habit but it proved useful.
The pair of you made a quick breakfast and ate it outside thanks to the warm weather even at that time. But soon enough your parents came downstairs and ruined the peaceful atmosphere with the clanging of pots and loud convosations.
You wandered around the side of the house and saw the old table tennis table that bad been folded away years ago and hadn't been set up since. You went over and started setting it up when Wanda joined you and eyed the table with a glimmer of mischief.
The redhead wasn't all that competitive, in fact you were pretty sure she let other people win games on the regular to make them feel better about themselves. But there was an undeniable spark of mischief in her eyes when she saw the table.
"You played this before?" You asked convosationally.
"I have." She said as you both automatically took up your positions of opposite ends of the table.
"Me too." You said confidently. "A lot." Wanda hummed in acknowledgment and swivelled her bat in her hand and stood ready. You smiled at her seriousness for the game.
You served surprisingly well for someone who hadn't played in a few years and Wanda was able to hit it back with ease. Once you had developed a steady pace you started hitting the ball more daringly to Wanda who was caught off guard before she started doing the same.
The moment you missed the ball a small smile tugged at the corner of Wanda's lips, her celebration was short lived when you suddenly sent the ball back her way until it was too late.
"That wasn't fair!" She exclaimed childishly.
"That was tables tennis." You said seriously but started smiling again.
Wanda huffed dramatically and flipped you off as she trudged back to the table and served the ball with force. You managed to send it back but took a step away from the table in caution.
You continued like that for a while. The competition tension rising as you picked up the pace, one of you occasionally getting a point before the other evened it out.
At one point you were vaguely aware of Dalton sauntering over to see what you were doing and arched his brow at the sight of the table.
"We still have this thing?" He questioned and you hummed quietly in response, too focused on the game.
"Hey Claire! Get over here, we're playing table tennis." You rolled your eyes at the intrusive and could sense Wanda refraining from doing the same until an idea popped into your head.
You caught the ball in your hand and smiled at Wanda's protests as you moved round to her side of the table just as your sister came out.
"I didn't even know we still had this." Claire laughed as she picked up another bat from the box.
"Maybe we should take it back with us." Wanda whispered to you and you bit your lip to contain your smile because yes, yes you should.
Inevitably, your siblings sucked at table tennis. You had suspected as much you just never thought they would be as bad as they were. They missed almost every hit and everytime they did they got increasingly angry, which meant they ended up flaring their arms around like idiots. It was a memory you would be sure to treasure.
"Stupid game" and "probably broken" kept echoing across the table until your siblings finally stormed off to throw a tantrum.
The rest of the day went by quietly. You and Wanda sat by the lake for most of the afternoon to enjoy the sun and heat. You reveled in the most recent memories of your siblings embarrassment and had to keep hushing down to childish whispered whenever one of them was nearby.
Surprisingly, dinner went by peacefully too.
You weren't asked anymore questions at the table. Instead, your family were content with talking about their upcoming plans between stealing glances at you and Wanda that the redhead never failed to notice.
The pair of you slipped off to your room the first moment you got and easily fell into bed besides one another. Wanda picked out a DVD from her bag of an old Sokovian show she used to watch as a child and had you hooked on as well as teaching you the language.
She settled down beside you and within the first few scenes she wrapped an arm around your shoulder so you could sink into her further like she did sometimes when you watched things together. You were barely paying attention to the series after that.
Despite trying to keep your focus on understanding what was happening in scenes of the show, you couldn't help but want to melt under the warmth of your best friend. You hoped it was something you got to experience more, you felt safer than you ever had in Wanda's arms.
Little did you know that having you in her arms was the most comforting feeling Wanda ever experienced and she always tried to do it as little as possible to refrain from falling for you more. It never worked.
*
You had thought waking up in Wanda's arms the morning before had been the best thing to awake to. But that day when you woke up not only were your legs tangled together again but the redhead was slowly stroking your hair while your head rested on her chest.
It was a gradual gesture that maintained a perfect rhythm and made you want to fall back asleep. But you were afraid you would mistake it for a dream later on. No, it was definitely real.
Luckily, your head was already tilted upwards slightly so when you secretly opened your eyes to risk a peek at your friend you saw her staring out the window as though she was in a trance. She was clearly so deep in thought she hadn't noticed you wake up, you had never seen her like it. But the feeling was too good to ignore, too compelling.
Soon enough, you found yourself drifting off back to sleep.
*
When you woke up again Wanda was gone. Her absence left an emptiness you knew wasn't good for you. As the days of your visit went on your fake relationship with Wanda was going to effect you even more when it was over.
Over...you couldn't think about that.
Once you got up and got changed you found Wanda in the kitchen looking at the news on her phone as she sipped her coffee.
"Morning, honey." You grinned. Wanda blushed slightly into her coffee, something you thought was undeniably adorable.
"Morning yourself." She tried to play off smoothly making you grin more.
You made breakfast for you both just as your mum came into the kitchen and greeted you both with an overplayed smile, already talking to Wanda about an upcoming party that she should go to. Wanda mumbled something about a busy schedule as you managed to whisp her away outside with your food.
Eventually, you and Wanda became bored with sitting around in the house when you had such amazing surroundings on your doorstep. You declared that you were going on a walk with the redhead and left before any of your family could invite themselves to go with you. Especially as you had told your friend to wear her swimwear underneath her clothing as you had a surprise for her.
You made a point of holding Wanda's hand as you left and once you were far away from the house went to take it back only for her to hold on tighter.
"You never know where they could be lurking." She joked as an excuse, so you starting swinging your arms playfully as to assure her you wanted your hands to stay linked together too.
You spent hours in those woods and was thankful for having a spy best friend who of course knew to pack the essentials like food and drinks so you could stay away from the house as long as you wanted.
The redhead brought so much you were able to have a small picnic on top of a hill that overlooked the large lake that stretched out all the way back to the house. You remembered thinking up stories as to explain the strange shape and curves to it as a child.
"It's beautiful here." Wanda said as she picked some grapes from the bunch between you.
"It is." You agreed with a fond smile.
"I used to want to live in a place like this." She muttered, sparking your interest.
"In the woods?" You asked curiously and she nodded.
"I thought I could retire to the woods and get a small cabin and I could grow my own food and that was all I needed." You hummed with a smile as you studied Wanda's features.
"Sounds lonely." You thought aloud.
"I'd have a cat." She said simply making you laugh. "I never used to think that but now when it crosses my mind and I picture that life... I picture someone else there with me." You knew she was imagining it as she spoke and you wished you could see exactly what it was she wanted.
"We could always downgrade the holiday house." You half joked as you nodded in the vague direction of the house. "Make it a simple cabin."
"We?" Wanda asked hopefully, the emotion clear before she had a chance to conceal it.
"There's no one I'd rather run away and live in the forest with." You joked although there was a lot of truth to your words. The redhead considered you for a while before smiling and nodded as though she had reached her own internal conclusion.
"Come on." You said suddenly as you stood up and dusted yourself off.
"You want to go back?" Wanda asked and you grinned.
"I'm going to show you that surprise." You declared and packed the remaining food away. Wanda did the same, eager to see the surprise you kept secret the whole way.
It was quite a way back to the house. The whole time Wanda kept asking more questions about it but you wouldn't say. She could only make guesses based on the swim wear which should have left only a few options, non of which she got right.
Finally, you arrived where you wanted to and grinned at Wabda before starting towards the edge. The redhead frowned as she watched you approach the ledge and became worried when she invisioned the steep slope that didn't always lead to water straight down. If you were to fall... your friend didn't have to wait long to see that. You slipped along the edge and disappeared from her view as she gave a startled cry and sprinted towards the edge and knelt over with wide eyes, expecting to see something that could haunt her forever but instead she saw you on a wide ledge but seven feet below her.
To your left was part of the ledge that had been dug into randomly and acted as perfect aid to get back into the woods above.
"Come down here." You beckoned as you starter to take your top off. Wanda's eyes widened more and quickly turned around and dropped down next to you steadily.
She glanced over the side of the small ledge to glance at the fifty foot drop into the water. There was nothing in the way to fall onto but there was no telling how deep that water was.
"You can't go in like that." You laughed as you kicked off your shorts and pushed them to the side.
Wanda's face heated up at the sight of you in your y/f/c bikini as you assessed the view. But even in her flustered state she was able to put it all together.
"You want to jump down there?" She exclaimed making you laugh.
"I've done it tones of times." You assured. "It's fun."
"It's a death wish! What if the waters not deep enough?" She questioned making you laugh more.
"Are you scared, Wan?" You teased as you took a step towards her making her avert her eyes from your form. She scoffed to play it off.
"Of course not." You hummed in faux belief.
"Well then I'll see you down there." You grinned and took a couple of steps back until your feet were no longer on the platform and you were plummeting down towards the water where you landed with a splash.
Wanda held her breath as she waited for you to resurface for a few agonising seconds. When you did with a gasp and started kicking around frantically to keep yourself afloat with your built up adrenaline the redhead sighed in relief and started taking off her own shorts and shirt and placed them next to your things.
You've jumped from higher. She told herself as she rocked on her feet. And you have powers! She argued back before she shoved those thoughts aside and threw herself off the ledge and into the water below. You laughed as she came back up and pushed her hair away from her way. You swam closer to her and saw her wide smile.
"Fuck." Wanda whispered with a laugh as she looked back up from where you had both come.
"Told you it was fun." You teased as you tried not to focus on the low cut on her bikini bra.
"Yeah yeah." She laughed and paused when she looked past you and saw you were surprisingly close to the house. She could see the outline of your family sat outside.
"They're looking." Wanda muttered. You could tell by the look on her face who she was talking about. It wasn't like there was anyone else around either.
"Do you think they've caught on?" You asked nervously as you stared at Wanda's brown eyes to stop you looking at your family.
"Maybe..." She considered and glanced around. "It's not like we've been acting like that much of a couple." You scoffed at that.
"At home everyone assumes we're dating and the one time we need it be believable it isn't." You rolled your eyes but couldn't help the smile.
"I know." Wanda laughed for a second but then paused. "Then let's give them something believable." She gently placed both her hands on your waist and pulled you slowly towards her. You let her guide you and took extra notice of the water droplets across her face. You almost trembled when your bare stomachs pressed together in the water lightly.
Wanda's soft hands left your waist and gripped your thighs to pull you up to wrap your legs around her own waist. You couldn't help but giggle at the gesture as you wrapped your arms around the redhead's neck and held onto her waist with your legs in a lock.
"Can I?" Wanda whispered when she lifted your chin with her finger and her other hand came round the back of your neck.
"Just shut up and kiss me." You demanded with a playful smile and leaned in to do it yourself.
You smiled into the kiss and felt Wanda do the same. It was everything you had ever imagined it to be. Her lips were soft and fell into place perfectly against your own as they moved together. Your mind was hazey and your stomach was doing flips at the realisation that you were actually kissing your long time crush. You forced yourself to remember that it was all a show. That Wanda didn't mean it. But she put on a believable act and kissed passionately, even slipping her tongue through your parter lips to explore your mouth further.
When she eventually pulled away you rested your foreheads together to catch your breath and grinned as you closed your eyes.
"You're a really good kisser." You blurted out making Wanda chuckle.
"Not too bad yourself." She teased.
"I hope not, we're gonna have to do that again." You smiled and instantly realized that sounded like a confession you desperetly wished you could claim. "You know because...Once probably wasn't enough to make it entirely believable." You rambled and Wanda nodded somewhat stiffly and let your legs drop back down. You wanted to say something to her, anything but it was all stuck on the tip of your tongue.
Just as you opened your mouth to speak, a small murmurarion of starlings flew across the lake, some of them skimming the water then gaining height again as they got closer to you and Wanda. You both ducked instinctively as they flew over your heads and off towards the forest again as you watched them in awe until they disappeared. You glanced up at the sky and noticed the sun had gone behind a cloud, ableing you to continue looking up at the other birds higher up.
You kicked your legs up slightly so you could lay on your back and outstretch your arms to keep you afloat in the water so you could stare up at the sky without hurting your neck.
You didn't realise Wanda mimicked you until her hands brushed against yours. She withdrew it as soon as you touched and went to murmmer an apology but you smiled and held onto her hand as you both lay watching the birds.
Neither of you had to say anything. It was a comfortable and peaceful silence that was occasionally filled with birds chirping or the sound of a calm breeze. Of all the things you expected to feel on that trip, relaxed was not one of them.
You stayed like that for a while until you were both snapped out of your daydreams by the distant yell that declared dinner. Well, you had to go back to them eventually.
Both of you took your time swimming back to dry land and only felt a shiver when you left the water and the breeze hit you. Wanda spotted and reached the towels before you and wrapped yours around you tightly. You thanked her with a small blush as you both sauntered up to the house where the mouthwatering smell of a barbecue greeted you. Your dad was leaning over it while shooing your brother away as he tried to offer his 'help'.
You and Wanda went inside to change swiftly and came back outside as the food was being placed on plates and your mum finished setting up the buffet. Everyone starter helping themselves and you piled as much food as you could onto the plate. You parents had asked what food Wanda liked and when you gave them a brief list you added in a few things you knew you both loved.
"You gonna eat all that?" Anna asked as she eyed all the food on your plate. Guilt and insecurities washed over you until Wanda purposefully grabbed a large handful of small sausage rolls and put them on her plate that was piled with a considerable amount more food than your own. You smiled at the reassuring gesture as she sat down with a satisfied grin on her face when she saw Anna close her mouth to stay quiet.
"Thanks." You whispered to her as you sat down.
"If you don't eat all that I will." She declared. You were pretty sure she went back for seconds.
Instead of disappearing back to your room like you did the previous nights, you and Wanda stayed with your family for a while after dinner. It wasn't to do with their company, more the mesmerising fire in the firepit you all sat around. You were cuddled up into Wanda's side with a blanket over both of you as you stared at the flames, smiling at their small flickers and dances.
"So Wanda," one of your sisters began, "are any of the other Avengers...you know." She nodded her head in the direction of you both.
Oh boy you though.
"I don't think it's my place to say." Wanda said because yes, a lot of the Avengers were queer.
"Oh come on, you can tell us." Anna encouraged as she sat forward eagerly.
"I could, but I'm not going to." Wanda continued to defy.
"Lay off it guys." You mumbled but was ignored. Your family took it in turns saying her teammates names in hopes of sparking a reaction, clearly forgetting they were facing someone who had been trained by Natasha Romanoff.
"Stark!" Claire said but was instantly shut down by the others.
"He's married!" Dalton objected.
"Could still be bi though." Claire tried but Dalton just scoffed.
"I suppose there's going to be more surprises."
"What does that mean?" Wanda asked with narrowed eyes, feeling protective of her teammates. Dalton met her gaze with his own challenging one.
"I just never thought one of the Avengers would be a dyke." You felt Wanda stiffen as you all held your breath. There was no way to tell what was going through the redhead's mind, especially as after all those years of friendship you still didn't even know what team she batted for. She was an ally at least, but would she see this as her battle to fight?
Upon getting no reaction, Dalton continued. "It makes sense why you'd hang out with y/n though, we always knew something was wrong with her but-"
"That's enough." Your mum snapped with a guilty expression she failed to mask. You swallowed hard and moved to get up, deciding you had heard enough.
"Then you're idiots." Wanda stated as she glared daggers at your brother while you sunk down.
"I'll have you know I have a doctorate-"
"Your idiots." She repeated. "There's nothing wrong with y/n, which is impressive considering she's grown up around you lot." You looked at your friend in awe as she continued.
"She's the most amazing person I've ever known, including any of the Avengers. She's everything that you're not and I'm lucky to call her my girlfriend. It doesn't matter what any of you think of her, I love her and I always will." She declared as shot daggers at each individual family member who had fallen silent. She took your hand and pulled you up from your seat to take you inside.
You couldn't get her saying she loved you out of your head. You reminded yourself over and over again on the way to your room that it was just an act. That the redhead was making her point. But God, how you wished it was real.
She was so gentle with you as she guided you through the house. When you got to your room and broke down sobbing she held you on the bed for a long time until your cries turned to sniffles. The thing was, you weren't sure what you were crying over. Sure, what Dalton had said had hurt. As did the confirmation that your whole family had always looked down on you. But you had known that was the case for a long time, you had moved on from it.
Instead, you may have being crying over what you didn't know and didn't have. How much of what Wanda said was true? It was all based off of something that wasn't real. What if she saw you the same way your family did?
When you stopped crying you became aware of Wanda gently stroking your hair as she rested her head on yours and held you close to her. You remembered the memories you had accumulated over the past few days with her. The kisses, the hand holding, the nights together, how she stood up for you like no one ever had. You loved her so much.
"I think we should go tomorrow." Wanda mumbled and you nodded into her shoulder.
"I'm not going to leave you though, you know that right? You can stay at mine and we'll watch more of those crappy American movies you like." She mocked lightly making you chuckle against her. "Whatever you want."
"I just want you." You said honestly. You knew you shouldn't have said that, but you were too emotionally drained to care.
"I just want you too, y/n." You pulled away from the redhead to look at her clearly.
"I don't think you know what I mean." You sniffed and she smiled at you fondly.
"I mean what I said earlier, around the fire." Your eyes widened slightly and you held your breath.
"It was all an act though." You whispered and Wanda chuckled as she exhaled sharply.
"No y/n." "I think I am inlove with you." She said as she took ahold of your hand and searched your face for any signs of a reaction to her confession.
"Me?" You questioned, not quite believing it.
"Yes you, idiot." You smiled and sighed in relief, not being able to find the words to express your overflowing happiness and numerous other emotions you couldn't quite pinpoint. You let go of Wanda's hand and brought them both up to cup her cheeks. You had done a lot more handholding than kissing in the previous few days. It needed to be evened out.
You closed the gap between you and kissed Wanda with just as much passion as you had in the lake, except all hesitation and questions were gone. Because you knew she loved you. Oh God she loved you. You grinned into the kiss at the thought and felt her hand fall to your hip while the other caressed the side of your neck in the most gentle manner you had ever seen from her.
When you eventually pulled away you rested your forehead against hers, a smile still playing on both your lips.
"Told you we'd have to do that again." You said and and laughed. "I love you too."
"Well I hoped that wasn't a pity kiss." She joked and you smacked her arm playfully.
"It definetly was not and I'll prove it to you by taking you on a date when we get back." You promised as you sat back to look at her clearly.
"Oh yeah?" She asked with a playful smirk and leaned over so her face was inches away from yours.
"Yeah." You said back.
"Well until then, my real girlfriend should definetly just keep kissing me." She said as she pushed you down gently and kissed you again. You smiled against her gleefully.
"Your girlfriend would love to."

Any headcannons on Ichiro x Ramuda x Reader perhaps? (All parties involved in the poly, btw UwU)
 ━━ ∘◦ ☆ ◦∘ ━━
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ichiro Yamda x reader x Ramuda Amemura
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: None
A/N: I wasn’t sure if you wanted SFW or NSFW, so I just went ahead and made it SFW! This is such an interesting pairing too, it would be so fun but so chaotic haha hope you enjoy~
⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙
dating both Ichiro and Ramuda means that your relationship is going to be extremely chaotic at all times
if it’s not Ichiro pulling you away to check out a cool new anime, it’ll be Ramuda pulling you away to model his newest clothing line
it’s definitely an interesting dynamic
when you first all agreed to date each other, it was a little tense between Ramuda and Ichiro
because it felt like they were fighting over you and trying to prove that they were the better choice
but after you helped them work through their issues and let them have some *cough* alone time, they became more relaxed around each other
and although it takes longer for them to fall in love with each other than they did with you, they’ll still end up falling
and when they do, that’s when the trouble starts for you
because now their forces are joined and all they want to do is tease and fluster and overwhelm you with their boundless energy
dates with Ichiro and Ramuda are also always fun and lively
usually the three of you end up going to an arcade or a dance club or somewhere that gets the adrenaline pumping
so many nights of just running through the city, both of them wanting to show you their favorite spots in Ikebukero and Shibuya
and on the rare occassion that you go out to eat all together at a fancy restaurant, you get to see them get all nice and dressed up
its totally worth it
on rainy days though, you definitely take advantage of your large couch, all three of you snuggling together
usually it’s either you or Ramuda in the middle, but sometimes Ichiro’s had a bad day and then he’s the one getting the cuddles
usually Ramuda likes to be little spoon and Ichiro likes to be big spoon
but halfway through the cuddling, it’s Ramuda who’s glomping onto you like a koala and it’s Ichiro that’s snuggling into you and wanting you to wrap your arms around him
although Ramuda is the older of the two, he definitely whines and pouts to get his way in the relationship
and although you’re quick to give into his puppy-dog eyes, Ichiro can usually hold out longer since he’s had experience with his younger brothers begging for things like that
although all it takes is for Ramuda to really beg and Ichiro will fold too
but make no mistake, Ichiro has his childish side too and it comes out whenever he gets overly excited by something
there is exactly one (1) braincell between the three of you and it’s never in more than one place at the same time
and this usually leads to bad ideas taking fruition (i.e. filling up a kiddie pool with jello ‘just to see what happens’, buying an unnecessary amount of snacks, graffitiing all three of your initials and running from the cops)
whenever there’s a date that requires gifts, both Ichiro and Ramuda are the types to go big and get you something totally extravagant
and even though they both know that money isn’t everything, they definitely still want to splurge on you (and each other too)
Ramuda is always teasing Ichiro just to get a reaction out of him, and whenever he calls Ichiro cute, the latter always turns pink and insists that he’s not ‘cute’ in the least bit
to which both you and Ramuda die laughing because Ichiro is adorable
I headcanon that Ichiro is the type to stay up late, and Ramuda is the type to wake up early to work his store
so you’ll spend all night playing video games with Ichiro
and then spend the morning cooking breakfast with Ramuda
which means you’ll take lots of little cat naps throughout the day, snuggling with Ichiro and Ramuda whenever they have a moment to check in on you
Ichiro and Ramuda are always making little bets between each other and you somehow always get caught up in the middle of it
although most of the time the consequences and prizes are just kisses and hugs or declarations of love
both Ichiro and Ramuda have times where they think they’re not good enough for you and whenever this happens, it’ll be up to you to reassure them that your trio is perfect and that you wouldn’t want it any other way
there’s so much love to be given in the relationship with Ichiro worshipping the ground you walk on, and Ramuda feeling like he finally has someone in his life to love and cherish
the relationship is going to be a wild ride, but you’re going to be loved through every moment of it

Bucky Barnes Imagines - Some Sunny Day Part 3
Tumblr media
Summary: Before the Blip, you and Bucky were close. After you both returning and Tony’s funeral, you decided to go back to your home town to spend time with your family. When duty calls, you return.
In this chapter: After finding Sharon in Madripoor, you learn about the creator of the soldier serum (Based on S1 EP3)
(PART 1) (PART 2)
Pairing(s): Bucky Barnes x Fem!Reader, Sam Wilson x Platonic!Reader
Word Count: 3,457
Warnings: Spoilers for episode 3, violence, strong language.
Once you arrived at Sharon’s you were itching to get out of the costume Zemo cooked up for you.
“Looks like breaking all those laws is treating you well.” Sam gawked at Sharon’s place which was full of art work and collectables.
“I thought if I had to hustle, might as well enjoy the life of a real hustler. You know how much I’ll get for a real Monet?” Sharon shrugged as she lead you through her gallery.
“Easy...Deactivate your hustle mode. You sell fake Monets.” Sam didn’t believe her as he stared at the artwork.
“No. She means real. This gallery is specialized in stolen artwork. Monet. Van Gogh. Classics.” Zemo defended Sharon as he followed her.
“It’s true. You know, half the artwork in museums like the Louvre is fake. Real stuff sits in places like this.” Bucky informed Sam.
“Okay, guys, I see what you’re doing. You’re more worldly than good old Sam.” Sam pulled out his phone and started searching a nearby paining.
“Yeah. What’s Google say?” Bucky teased him for it.
“No shit.” Sam muttered as the realisation hit him.
“You guys need to change. I’m hosting clients in an hour.” Sharon beckoned you along to which you were silently thankful for.
Sharon was kind enough to let you look through her vast collection of clothes until you picked out something you liked.
“Hey... You okay?” You asked softly.
You and Bucky were alone with your backs to each other as you changed in one of Sharon’s many rooms.
“I’m fine.” Bucky replied quietly.
You knew he wouldn’t be fine after having to act like the winter soldier again. You watched him at that bar. He didn’t hold back when he attacked those men.
“Buck, you know you can’t lie to me.” You tried to keep it light but Bucky wasn’t having it.
“I’m not.”
You didn’t push.
“Hey, will you zip me up?” You asked after stepping into your dress. You didn’t turn but you could hear Bucky’s footsteps as he approached you.
You felt the cold of his fingers brush against your back as he slowly zipped up the dress.
You turned when the zip reached the top.
“Thanks.” You whispered.
Bucky’s eyes were burning through you as he admired your choice of dress.
“You look beautiful.” Bucky murmured, his eyes taking in every detail.
“You scrub up quite nicely yourself.” You smiled as you admired Bucky in the suit Sharon had given him. You couldn’t deny the butterflies in your stomach as you thought about a possible normal circumstance Bucky could wear something like this. Like a date.
“Come on.” Bucky took your hand and lead you to the door that would take you back to the others.
“It’s alright. I’m gonna sort my hair out. Running through Low-town didn’t exactly do it any favours.” You retracted your hand and returned to the mirror. Bucky hesitated didn’t question you.
“What’s going on with you and Bucky?” Sharon’s voice filled the room as you  heard the door open again. “Thought the two of you’d be together by now.”
“We’re coworkers. We’ve always been coworkers.” You were wary of Sharon’s new found attitude.
“Oh please. You two have wanted to jump each others bones the whole time I've known you.” Sharon rolled her eyes at you as she slump down on the love seat beside you.
You remained silent as you brushed through your hair.
“Oh come on.” Sharon rolled her eyes. “You two have never?”
“No.” You said almost too quickly.
“Well it’s only a matter of time. I don’t know why you are dragging it out so long.” Sharon sighed dramatically as she picked at the fabric on the settee.
“I don’t know why everyone is so invested in mine and Bucky’s relationship.” You spun around to face her. “You. Sam. Steve. You all poke and prod but you don’t take into consideration all the factors.”
“No you don’t take into consideration that there’s only so much time before one day you’re shot or killed or you have to go on the run and never see him again. You need to grow some balls, (y/n).” Sharon didn't bother sticking around after that.
You groaned and closed your eyes.
When you finally decided to rejoin the group, they were discussing Sharon’s status in Madripoor.
“What’s going on, Sharon? You don’t ever wanna come back home?” Sam asked as he put on a shirt.
“They’ll lock me up if I step foot back in the States. Madripoor doesn’t allow extradition.” Sharon replied pretty matter-of-factly as she walked over to her desk.
“Look, I’m sorry I didn’t call, but after the Blip and the chaos, I just––” Sharon cut Sam off before he could explain himself.
“––Look, you know the whole hero thing is a joke, right? The way you gave up that shield, deep down, you must know it’s all hypocrisy.
“He knows. And not so deep down.” Zemo felt the need to jump in.
“By the way, how is the new Cap?” Sharon asked.
“Don’t get me started.”Bucky grumbled.
“Please. You buy into all that stars and stripes bullshit. Before you were his pet psychopath, you were Mr. America! Cap’s best friend.” Sharon smirked as she sat down beside Bucky.
“Wow. She’s kind of awful now.” Bucky said as he looked over at you.
“Karli Morgenthau and at least seven others have taken the serum.” You took the initiative to change the topic back to the reason you were here in the first place.
“You guys really should steer clear of all of this for your own safety.”Sharon warned you as she shook her head.
“We know it’s a risk, but we won’t leave until we find the one who cracked the code.” Sam took the chair beside Sharon as he spoke.
“We got a name. Wilfred Nagel.” Bucky told her.
“Nagel works for the Power Broker.” Sharon informed you as she stood to pour herself a drink.
“We need your help, Sharon. I can get your name cleared.” Sam offered.
“You haggling with my life?” Sharon smirked again.
“Not like that.” Sam shook his head.
“I don’t buy that. You pretending like you can clear my name.” Sharon leant back against her bar.
“Okay, maybe it is hypocrisy. Maybe you’re right. What happened to you. But I’m willing to try if you are. They cleared the bionic staring machine, and he killed almost everybody he’s met.” Sam approached her with his good old puppy dog eyes.
“I heard that.” Bucky frowned, unimpressed by Sam’s use of example.
“I don’t trust charity.” Sharon sighed.
“All right, a deal then. You help us out, and I get your name cleared.” Sam offered his hand.
“Well, I sell to some pretty connected people. Lay low, blend in, enjoy the party. Try to stay outta trouble. I’ll see what I can find.” Sharon took the deal.
The party seemed to suddenly start.
Within minutes the whole place was jam packed. Music suffocated the space and the smell of sweat and alcohol was growing.
You stayed in between Sam and Bucky as you walked single file through the gathering. You reached back and linked fingers with Bucky’s to make sure you didn’t get parted in the crowd.
As the bar came into view, you felt a hand grab your ass.
“Hey!” Bucky took hold of the stranger and slammed him against the nearest wall. Holding him by the throat.
Sam was there to diffuse the situation in a second. He placed a. hand on Bucky’s shoulder to pull him away.
“Lay low remember.” Sam repeated what Sharon had told everyone over the blaring music.
Bucky released the creep and stepped back.
That gave you enough space to send your own punch. The man cried out, sliding down the wall and cradling his gushing nose.
“Looks like she does not need help.” Zemo chimed in.
You all left the guy without drawing too much attention to yourselves.
The music wasn’t exactly your taste and you knew that it definitely wasn’t Bucky's but that didn’t stop you from taking him away from Sam and Zemo.
“What are you doing?” Bucky asked you.
“Got a bit boring just standing there, no?” You smirked.
“You can’t expect me to dance to this, can you?” Bucky grimaced at the pulsing beat that classified as music.
“You can try.” You smirked as you brought yourself closer to the man.
You moved your body to the music, smiling widely him as he awkwardly tried to sway to it.
“I thought you were a good dancer?!” You teased Bucky as you watched him.
“I was!” Bucky defended himself. “When the music was Louis Armstrong and Glenn Miller!”
You couldn’t help but laugh at the man before wrapping your arm around his neck.
“You gotta move a bit more like this.” You tried to show him, taking his hand and placing it on your hip.
Bucky was starting to look a little less like a grandpa as he got into the groove of it.
His eyes were locked on you, a small smile on his lips. He looked undeniably handsome.
“I think you’re getting it.” You leant up by his ear to tell him.
“Well, we can’t look any worse than Zemo.” Bucky pointed through the crowd where Zemo was dancing.
Tumblr media
You burst into laughter at the sight of the war criminal dancing and buried your face into Bucky’s neck. Bucky laughed next to your ear. It was a rare genuine sound that sent tingles through your head.
“Come on.. Let’s get some water.” You left the dance floor and rejoined Sam by the bar where he had started to speak to some other guests.
Sharon approached you a little while later with some good news and so you all immediately left the party.
“Madripoor could give New York a run for its money.” Sam stated as you arrived at the location of Nagel.
“They know how to party.” Zemo agreed.
You followed Sharon through the shipping container yard as she searched for the right one.
“With that bounty on your head, the longer you’re in Madripoor, the less likely you’re ever leaving.” Sharon stopped and pointed over to a red container. “All right. He’s in there. Container four-two-six-one. I’ll watch while you guys talk to Nagel. But hurry. We’re on borrowed time.”
“You want me to stick around out here with you in case you run into trouble?” You asked her as you all took an ear piece.
“I’ll be alright. I’ll call if I need any back up.” Sharon dismissed your offer before walking away.
You all entered the container cautiously before Sam contacted Sharon.
“Hey, Sharon. You sure this is the right one? It’s completely empty.” He was right. To the eye, it was empty.
“Positive. It has to be.” Sharon replied.
You shared a look between Sam and Bucky as Zemo felt around the. back of the container.
Suddenly, it shifted and a hidden door opened.
Soft music played from below along with a muffled voice.
It has to be Nagel.
Sam, Bucky and you all went in armed.
You silently negotiated between each other which urged Sam to go ahead and cut the music. Nagel spun around at the intrusion.
“Dr. Nagel?” Sam inquired.
“Who are you? What do you want?” The man wasn’t intimidating and didn't seem to have any weapons around him but you had learnt in the past not to underestimate your opponent.
“We know you created the super-soldier serum.” Sam informed him.
“Get out of my lab.” Nagel demanded pretty boldly considering Sam was the one with the gun.
“Hey! You know who he is, right?” Sam asked as he caught the shocked look on Nagel’s face at the sight of Bucky.  This is Baron Zemo. I know you’ve heard of him, too, right? You seem like a pretty smart guy. So you better become conversational real quick.”
“How about a counter proposal? Make me a better offer and I’ll talk.”Nagel smirked.
“Guys, we have company.” Sharon’s voice whispered through the ear piece. “Every bounty hunter in the city is here. We gotta go.”
“I’ll go up.” You lowered your gun from Nagel and went to turn when Sam stopped you.
“No, we might need you.” Sam meant he might need your powers.
“But...” You gestured to your ear.
“She didn’t ask for back up.” Sam argued.
You sighed but listened to Sam.
Bucky moved Nagel over to a chair. He held his gun to the man’s temple.
“Here’s your counter offer.” Bucky shot next to Nagel’s head which worked wonders to make him talk.
“Okay. Okay. I was brought into HYDRA’s Winter Soldier program to pick up their work after the five failed test subjects in Siberia. When HYDRA fell, I was recruited by the CIA. They had blood samples from an American test subject with semi-stable traces of serum in his system. After much labor, I was able to isolate the necessary compounds in his blood. I was a god. I did what no other scientist since Erskine was able to do. But mine was going to be different. No clunky machines or jacked up bodies. Mine was going to be subtle, optimized, perfect.”
“How have we never heard about this?” You asked, your eyes flicking over at Sam.
“Because… Before I was able to complete my work, I turned to dust. Then when I returned, it was five years later, program had been abandoned, so I came here. The Power Broker was more than happy to fund the recreation of my work.” Nagel explained.
“How many vials did you make?” Sam asked.
“Twenty. Karli Morgenthau stole those, so I can only imagine what the Power Broker has planned for that poor girl.”
“Where’s Karli now?”You stepped forward, rolling up your sleeve as a warning.
“I don’t know where she is. But a couple of days ago, she called and asked if I could help someone named Donya Madani. Poor woman has tuberculosis. Typical of overpopulation in displacement camps like that.” You took a mental note of the name Nagel mentioned.
“Well, what happened to her?” You pushed
“Not my pig. Not my farm.” Nagel shrugged.
You looked back at Sam with a look asking if you should check if he's telling the truth but Sam shook his head.
“Is there any serum in this lab?” Bucky asked.
Nagel sent Bucky a deep glare but Bucky’s gun brought forth the answer.
“No.”
“Now what?” Bucky asked you and Sam.
“Guys, we’re seriously outta time here.” Sharon bursted in, looking a little battered.
All of a sudden, Zemo pulled a gun out and shot Nagel.
“No!” Sam cried out
You lunged forward and reached for the man’s arm. If you could catch his final moments of life leaving his body you could still get the memories but as you hand touched his skin all you saw was darkness.
You screamed as you went blind.
You felt a pair of hands pull you up from the ground to which you could only assume was Bucky.
“What did you do?!” Sharon gasped at Zemo’s action.
“I can’t see, Buck.” You felt your whole body go limp in his arms as you muttered those final words before you passed out.
When you felt your eyes open again, you were out of the container. Gun shots were muffled in your eyes as you heard Bucky and Sam arguing.
You were covered in dust and you didn’t have your gun.
“Where’s my gun?” You asked. That’s when the boys realised you were awake.
You only managed to crawl over to Bucky to take it from him and start to fire.
Your aim was off from how exhausted you were but the adrenaline was there enough for you to get a good few shots in.
“Are you okay?” Bucky asked you as the firing stopped. Zemo was busy taking out the remaining bodies so it gave you time to sit back again.
“Not really.” You shook your head. Your body felt cold and darkness still clouded the corners of your vision. It’s what happened when you tried to get the memories from a dead body, all you could see and feel is death. Your powers only worked on living people or people close to death.
“Come on.” Bucky lifted you up, tucking his arm underneath you to keep you steady on your feet.
You only lasted being half dragged/half running before Bucky picked you up. You hated being carried but this was a life or death situation.
“Buck!” Sam shouted as some more bounty hunters appeared. Bucky put you down and you fell against the container door as he used a broken off pipe to fight them off.
“Let’s go!” Sam tugged you both inside.
Bucky kicked open the back of the container so you could escape, only for you to be met by Zemo in a swanky getaway car.
“Supercharged.” Zemo gestured to his ride.
“You’re going back to jail.” Sam told Zemo.
“Do you want to find Karli or not?” Zemo asked.
“He’s right. We need him.” You tried to speak but your throat was hoarse.
“And there’s only three of us, and at least 20 of them.” Bucky added.
“Fine. But if you try that shit again...” Sam warned him.
“I wouldn’t dream of it.” Zemo stated. Not that he was to be trusted.
Sam helped you into the back seat. There was concern painted across his face.
“Well, that was one hell of a reunion.” Sharon sighed as she placed her hands on the car.
“Come back to the States with us.” Sam tried to persuade her.
“I can’t. Just get me that pardon you promised me.” Sharon reminded him of the deal they made.
“Thanks for everything.” Sam nodded. “You’re not gonna move your seat up, are you?”
“No.” Bucky shook his head.
You laughed weakly as you remembered the same conversation back when Steve was still around.
Back on Zemo’s plane, you took a position on the small couch with Bucky. You were resting your eyes but trying to stay awake as you listened to the boys talk.
“Donya Madani. She’s a refugee, yeah.” Sam had contacted Torres about the woman Nagel had mentioned. “Call me if you get a hit. --- Thanks, Torres.”
“You okay?” Bucky asked Sam as Sam slouched down.
“Yeah. Just thinking about all the shit Sharon had to go through. And Nagel referring to the American test subject like Isaiah wasn’t even a real person. Just makes me wonder how many people have to get steamrolled to make way for this hunk of metal.”
“Well, it depends on who you ask. That hunk of metal saved a lot of lives.” Bucky looked up from cleaning his hand.
“Yeah, I get that. All right. Maybe I made a mistake.” Sam confessed.
“You did.” Bucky agreed with that statement and so did you but you kept your eyes closed.
“Yeah. Maybe I shouldn’t have put it in a museum. Maybe I should have destroyed it.” Sam didn’t say what you expected.
“Look, that shield represents a lotta things to a lotta people, including me. The world is upside down, and we need a new Cap, and it ain’t gonna be Walker. So before you destroy it, I’ll take it from him myself.” Bucky turned to face Sam as he spoke. You felt the couch shift.
Sam then got a call with the information on Madani.
“They found Madani… Dead. She died in Riga, a city near the Baltic Sea.”
“I have a place we can go. I, for one, am looking forward to coming face to face with Karli. Oeznik, we’re changing the course.” Zemo’s voice was the last thing you remembered before waking up at landing.
“Hey sleepy head.” Bucky whispered quietly. He’d rather be caught dead than let Sam hear him say that.
“Have we landed?” You asked as you rubbed your eyes.
“Yeah.” Bucky nodded. “Come on.”
It didn’t take too long to get to Zemo’s place but when you did, Bucky decided to break away.
“I’m gonna go on a walk.” Bucky announced before you entered the building.
“You good?” Sam asked.
“Yeah.” Bucky nodded as he stepped away.
“Be careful.” You warned him.
You knew Bucky needed his space sometime but now wasn’t the best time for him to just be wandering the streets. Especially if Walker clocks on it was you three that broke Zemo out of prison.
“Always.” Bucky winked at you before finally leaving.
But that was a bad feeling in your gut.

JJK pottery dates
Hii I've already made a separate inumaki fic on this so he won't be included. I was originally meant to do this for one character but I've decided to do multiple cause I can😌 Also I've never done pottery so I'm just winging this!
Itadori Yuuji
Yuuji would assume that he's gonna be a natural at pottery despite being both your first time
But yuuji would definitely not care about the end result of it
As long as he has a good time with (Y/N) that's all that matters
He'll accidentally use too much strength when handling the clay. Instructor tells him he's too heavy handed
(Y/N) on the other hand is doing pretty well. Shes almost done shaping and is ready to add some decorations
This is when Yuuji realises he does care about the end result because his looks like a complete mess
To cheer him up (Y/N) engraves Yuujis name into her pot and gives it to him as a gift.
You also offer to take yuujis piece in return
(Y/N) uses yuujis clay thing as a place for small trinkets and earrings
Yuuji uses (Y/N)s pot to plant a cactus
The couple had decided to go on a cute little pottery date for their first date, so why was Yuuji pouting in the corner?
Well at first (Y/N) and Yuuji were having a great time together. Messing around and quoting stupid memes and movie references was just their thing so when it was actually their turn to make something Yuuji had no idea what he was doing.
(Y/N) despite messing around with him had actually paid attention to the instructor and was doing just fine which made matters even worse for Yuuji. He assumed this would be a piece of cake when in reality it wasn't.
"Yuuji stop sobbing in the corner babe, it doesn't even look that bad!" You clearly lied to him but you knew it was for his own good.
"NO ITS TRASH look at yours (Y/N) so nice and pretty no one would ever want mine! Now I'll never be the world's best pottery maker" Yuuji babbled on just being his overdramatic self.
"Well I'd love love yours! I could put my jewellery in it, I needed a new trinket box anyways" you quickly thought on the spot and sighed in relief when Yuujis head perked up
"Really?" Yuuji sniffled and grabbed onto your waist. "Yeah and ill carve your name into mine! Then give it to you as a gift. Equivalent exchange" you winked at Yuuji knowing its an offer he couldn't refuse.
"Okay deal" Yuuji sat back next to you working on your trinket box while your worked on carving his name into his plant pot.
Choso
Choso was trying to learn more about the 21st century
How did he do this? By binge watching old rom coms on netflix.
In the middle of one of the movies a pottery scene comes up and chosos eyes couldn't shine more bright.
He loved the idea. It was a great way to spend your time with your loved one.
Choso immediately rang (Y/N) and demanded she arrange a date, which she did
You and Choso couldn't find any classes near you but looking at Chosos pout and puppy dog eyes begging to find a way you had no choice.
(Y/N) did the next best thing and decided to buy a beginners home kit. Now you both sat in the living room with newspapers littering the table and large aprons on yourselves.
"Okay so let's read the instructions first" you picked up the small booklet and looked over to Chosos who couldn't contain his excitement.
His buns were a little messier than usual as he rushed them the moment the package arrived but he still looked cute nonetheless. "Let me set it up then I guess we can try make a bowl? That seems to be the easiest option" you suggested while flicking through the pages and setting things up.
"Can we make a plant pot? I wanna give yuuji a plant for his birthday" Choso proposed. "Aww that's actually a great idea yuuji would love it!" You exclaimed in return and motioned him to come closer as you were ready to begin.
Choso had sat you in between his legs and leaned his head on your shoulder. His hairs tickled you and butterflys fluttered in your stomach when Choso began to kiss your cheeks slowly inching down to you neck.
"Oi behave" you ordered trying to sound intimidating but just burst out in laughter instead. "Fine sorry sorry let's focus on the pot" Choso apologised giving one last kiss to your head.
The pot was forming nicely but was a bit wonkey due to the hand size difference between you both.
Neither of you could care though, the intimacy of his hands on yours, music playing in the background and laughter filling the room from your stupid stories and Chosos dad jokes he recently learnt was just what Choso wanted.
The plant pot had turned out to be very cute and Yuuji ended up loving it.
Kamo Noritoshi
Kamo noritoshi was brought up in a strict household
During his childhood he was expected to be talented in many areas
Archery, studying, drawing, poetry, crochet, painting and even pottery were part of the many skills kamo noritoshi had devloped
The moment (Y/N) had learnt that the vase and other ornaments in noritoshis room were hand crafted by him she wanted to learn too
Now Noritoshi is sitting here behind his girlfriend teaching her how to make a vase because she wouldn't stop pestering him
"Noriii STOP being so perfect!" (Y/N) had yelled at her confused boyfriend who was simply decorating his clay piece.
"You wanted to do pottery with me and now your doing it. What's the problem?" Norotoshi sighed and turned to look at your vase. If he could even call it that.
"If you were struggling you could've asked me for help" Noritoshi scolded while your cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
"Yeah well I wanted to do it myself" you whined and crossed your arms in defeat.
"FINE help me please it's way harder than it looks" you admitted as nori made his way over to you.
"Firstly you need to be more gentle, it's wet clay not a damn rock (Y/N)" he corrected you and put his hands upon yours.
"Your hands are cold" you whispered to him feeling his slightly calloused hands touch yours.
"Focus (Y/N)" he responded equally as quiet as you. The room fell into a comfortable silence as your and nori moulded your vase together.
When it was finally finished you kissed noritoshi on the cheek. His cheeks turned slightly red but he kept his composure.
"It's fine (Y/N) just don't break it okay" the black haired male reminded you since you were quite clumsy.
"I promise I won't! But next time you have to do this call me and I'll join"
After this date, pottery became a common occurance for (Y/N) and Noritoshi. (Y/N) kept her promise and still fills her vase with flowers nori buys her to this day.
Okkotsu Yuta
Yuta okkotsu was a nervous wreck
You were given free tickets to a pottery event and asked Yuuta if he would accompany you
Of course he agreed without realising what he was actually getting himself into
The couple were currently at the event extremely close to make a bowl together
Yuuta could feel your hair on his skin and wanted to lean closer to bask in your presence
The moment he finally mustered the courage to lean onto your shoulder a little interruption had scared you both
'Okay Yuuta you got this. My wonderful (Y/N) is focused on the bowl so just slowly lean onto her' Yuuta thought to himself before looking towards his hands that were on yours. 'I GOT THIS' Yuuta had slowly inched closer while you continuously spoke so close to achieving his goal.
"IS THAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND!' a young girl with pigtails and pink bobbles yelled at Yuuta. The pair had jumped and practically ruined their bowl but yuuta couldn't care less. His chance was ruined.
"Yuuta she asked you a question" you reminded him and causing the black haired male to turn back to the small girl
"Ah yes this is my girlfriend" He responded with a small blush. "Well she's very pretty!" The cute child exclaimed.
"Thank you sweetie you're very cute too" (Y/N) cooed at the small girl and patted yutas arm telling him to compliment her aswell. Before yuuta could speak the young girl had beat him to it.
"OH YOU MUST BE ON A DATE! Sorry I ruined your bowl" she apologised looking down in guilt for interrupting you both.
"No no it's okay don't worry about it" Yuuta reasured and patted her head giving her a soft smile. (Y/N) blushed at the sight of her loving boyfriend with a child and gave the girl a quick high five before she scurried off to her parents.
"Wasn't she the sweetest little girl yuuta?" You asked and got a small 'hm' in response. "Our bowls a bit messy but I think we can salvage it right? Come closer so we can fix it properly" you grabbed his arms pulling him closer to you. Maybe that little interruption helped him after all.

Other possible romance options for hunter gatherer stardew valley INCLUDE:
1. Horse girl. Not a cowgirl. Specifically a horse book style horse girl who is told "that horse is wild, it can't be tamed" only for her to eventually win it over through the power of pure perseverance and friendship. Seems like a pretty straightforward story until you realize that the horse hasn't been domesticated yet and she's absolutely deranged. Befriending her is the only way to get a horse but you don't have to marry her to get it and it's a cute fat little horse.
2. Wolf boy. He's the jock option and loves hunting. Has all the latest hunting tools for the hunting mini game, similar to the adventuring stuff from stardew, you get tool upgrades from him. Has a pre-dog wolf dog that follows him everywhere. If u befriend him his dog will eventually have puppies and he'll give you one and then u can do dog based hunting techniques too.
3. Fish boy. Lives in a sedentary group but instead of being agricultural based its fishing based. Runs a fish stand and his town and the farming town both use currency but they use different currency. You can buy food and fishing stuff from his shop and he'll tell you how boring his life is in fish town and how much he longs to travel and see the world like youuuuu. Marrying him gives you a small amount of starting fish money whenever you go to fish town.
4. Obligatory Neanderthal Option. Is a girl with red Hair and Freckles (obviously). She takes the place of either the dwarf/shadow guy in stardew but is fully romanceable and is a m-m-m-maybe psychic? You would be surprised how much of a trope this is in Neanderthal based fiction and is a pet peeve of mine, but also its very funny. She's implied to be the daughter of the wizard equivalent who is in turn implied to not be a Neanderthal but another mysterious people (denisovan). She was kicked out of her group for tragic magic related reasons and if married is overjoyed to be a part of a family again but never fully warms up to the rest of your group. She gives you magic buffs.
At this point I must mention that this game is not educational. It's a purely fantasy setting where agriculture hasn't taken hold as the norm and possibly never will.
4. Shane from stardew valley. Exactly the same.
5. Your-best-friend-from-within-your-group-girl/boy-next-door-style. Not the most exciting choice but they were there for you all along.
6. Medicine girl. Similar to doctor role in stardew but isn't a creep and gives you both magic and foraging buffs. She's the eldest daughter in her family and as such has inherited the sacred role as healer in your community. She's only just finished her training but has to take over as healer when her mom is called to another band to help someone with a really serious injury. She's honored for the role but is under a lot of stress right now, and really wishes her younger sister would take an interest in learning the craft so she could get some help around here.....
7. Foraging girl. Medicine girls little sister. Like a cross between Abigail/Leah. Her parents put all their energy into her older sisters training, so she based her identity on being the black sheep. Often goes off by herself in the woods, finds all the most/best foraged items and is in charge of foraging/gardening aspects of the game, you get buffs for these from her. She seems aloof but really she just wants her family to see the REAL her and acknowledge her unique accomplishments.
8. Knapping boy. Is basically Clint from stardew but is named flint and doesn't have a shop. Instead he's just the best guy at making stone tools in your group. If you bring him the materials he'll upgrade your tools for you, either by sharpening them or heat treating them or making tar glue for you. He has a crush on one of the girls in your group and as you get closer to her you trigger his jealousy story arc but unlike in stardew, once it gets to a certain point you can do the old switcheroo and romance him instead.
*heavy breathing*
*I lay back down and go back into my coma*

New Beginnings Ch. 16
F!Reader x Liu Kang/Kung Lao
Oh boy oh boy.
@ancientowlgirl @poor-unfortunate-soul-85 @shang-hung
You were requested by Raiden the next morning. Your shoulders were slumped as you made your way to his hall. You knew what it was about. Last night, you'd told Kung Lao that this was all too much for you. You couldn't do it anymore. You couldn't be around them anymore. Of course you would still train and still fight in the tournament; Raiden and Earthrealm were counting on you. But you couldn't do this around Liu and Lao. It was painful.
Finally entering Raiden's quarters, you weren't surprised to see Liu and Lao both there as well. You pushed yourself towards them, but tried to keep your distance.
"Y/F/N," Raiden greeted as he looked over your defeated demeanor.
"Lord Raiden," you bowed your head to him.
"I've been told you wish to leave us," he said.
You nodded and couldn't bring yourself to look at him, nor Liu and Lao.
"The issue you told me of before..." Raiden spoke. The way he said 'issue' made you flinch. "It is… difficult for you?"
You nodded.
"My offer to assist you still stands."
You took a deep breath and sighed. "How could you possibly help?"
"What do you have in mind?" He asked curiously.
You thought for a moment. There really wasn't much that could be done. You shook your head. "It's insanely distracting. I just… I've never had this before. And I want it. I do. But…"
"You're worried for the sake of Earthrealm," Raiden concluded.
You finally looked up at him. You felt so useless. So pathetic.
"Y/F/N, you have the soul of a warrior."
"Some warrior," you mused. "I can't even focus on training when I'm around them."
"A good warrior can defeat their enemies. But a great one fights for those they love."
Your brows knotted.
"When I relieved you of your illness, I told Liu Kang that he and Kung Lao would not only give you a reason to fight, but a reason to live."
Lao had looked to Liu then. Liu simply nodded his confirmation.
"You are not weak… nor are you pathetic for having romantic feelings towards them. This was to happen."
You couldn't believe what you were hearing. This was supposed to happen? Raiden knew it was going to happen? How? Why?
"I can not reveal more to you at this time."
"What are you saying? I'm supposed to be this much of an emotional wreck?"
"You are free to decide for yourself. But you are indeed on the right path."
"Path to what? Die in the tournament?"
Raiden didn't answer that. In fact, he seemed to frown at it.
You were going to break down again. You could feel it coming on. That tightness in your neck. That knot in your stomach. Your heart had begun skipping beats.
Raiden's glowing eyes traced over your form, seeming to see past the physical being of you and right into your soul. He offered a hand out to you. You took it. He led you over to what you figured was a throne of sorts. But you knew Raiden was not the type to sit in it very much.
You sat in it. He was still looking at you as though you were a completely open book… You suddenly realized that this is where Liu had picked that habit up. Liu had shown you that exact look so many times.
"I do not wish to see you perish in Mortal Kombat," he told you. "I would very much like to see you succeed in your coming challenge." He was speaking to you so carefully, like a loving father to their child. “This is difficult for you, and I will not force you to stay… But I believe no one could convince you to leave. You are not someone who enjoys giving up.”
He was right. You didn’t like giving up. You wanted to keep going. Even now, you didn’t really want to leave the temple. You didn’t want to leave Liu and Lao. You didn’t want to give up on earthrealm… but it all felt so overwhelming. You were not going to be ready in five years.
“You will succeed, Y/F/N,” He told you. “You have no other choice.” His tone had hardened, but only enough to drive the point home. He was right again. You didn’t have any other choice. Sure, you could leave and pretend this never happened… but you knew you wouldn’t. You couldn’t. It wasn’t an option for you. You had to do this. You wanted to do this. But…
“I admire your restraint,” Raiden said as he continued to watch you. “But it seems that your restraint is more distracting than your emotions.” He had turned to Liu and Lao as he continued. “I do not like the idea of you three wasting time with such matters while Mortal Kombat is so close, but, I would be lying if I said I do not respect them.”
That seemed to throw all three of you for a loop. “Lord Raiden?” Liu said in his confusion.
“I am no stranger to love,” Raiden admitted. “I have felt the sting of it constantly for the past— nearly five hundred years.” He sighed and closed his eyes briefly. “It is not something I enjoy speaking about.”
“You loved someone?” Lao asked.
“I still do,” Raiden answered with a single nod.
“Who?” Liu asked.
“I have already spoken too much.” He shook his head and looked back to you. “Do not let your feelings get in the way of what you need to accomplish. But do not let what you need to accomplish get in the way of your feelings.”
Your brows knotted. You weren’t entirely sure how to apply that lesson. But it was clear that Raiden was telling you to find a balance.
You were training with Liu. Your footwork had improved, and you were learning how to properly land your strikes. But neither of you were very committed today. You, trying to figure out how to balance your emotions with your need to train. And Liu… You imagined he was still fighting his feelings.
He caught your wrist and forced you around. He pulled you flush back against him and locked you there with a strong arm.
You tried to squirm out of his hold, but each attempt was expertly blocked by the warrior monk. You weren’t supposed to use your arcana. You were training for hand to hand. He’d caught you.
You let out a sigh in your defeat and stopped struggling. You’d expected him to let you go then, so you could begin again… but his arm stayed right where it was.
Your brows knotted and you turned your head to look back at him curiously. You caught him staring at you. He wanted to say something, you could see it on his face, but he wasn’t talking. “Liu?”
Your voice seemed to jar him, as if he’d just realised what he was doing. He quickly pulled his arm away and stepped back. “Sorry.”
Now free, you turned to face him. “Are you alright?”
He nodded. “Yes. Thank you.”
But you weren’t buying it. Something was obviously bothering him. “What is it?”
Liu shook his head. “It’s nothing.” He readied his stance for another round. But you didn’t make any move to start a new round.
“Tell me.”
“I don’t want to upset you.”
“You’re already upsetting me.”
Liu frowned. He relaxed and straightened. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry. Just tell me what’s wrong.”
Liu’s jaw clenched. “I’ve lost you.”
Your brows rose, then knotted again. “What? No, you didn’t. I’m right here, Liu.”
“You chose Lao.”
“What?... No. I— What?”
“You slept with him last night.”
“What? No. Liu, we didn’t— You interrupted us before we could…”
“But, you were going to.”
“I—” You sighed heavily and looked away. “I don’t know.”
“It’s alright, Y/N.”
“No. Liu. I didn’t choose Lao. I haven’t made any choice. I can’t.”
“Then what was last night?”
“I don’t know. Frustration? Starvation? I don’t know. It just… If you had been there instead of Lao, it would have been you. It was just… It just… I don’t know.”
Liu was watching you with eyes that spoke desperation. He was so worried Lao would win your heart. Lao got everything else he ever wanted… Liu should have you. He deserved you. “Do you want me to be more like him?” Liu asked cautiously.
“What? No! Gods, no!” You stepped over to him, your own eyes pleading with him. “Liu… I like who you are. You were the first one I trusted. You were the first one to be honest with me. I don’t want you to be like Lao. What happened last night was just a fluke. We just got too caught up.”
“He gets everything he wants… Always has.”
“Liu…”
“Just this once, I want to have what I want.”
Your jaw hardened. You were afraid this was going to happen. You knew it was going to happen. That’s why you made such a big deal about them backing off. That’s why you wanted to find someone else to train you. You were going to get between Liu and Lao. You were going to cause them to fight each other. “Liu, I—”
“Please.” He’d grasped your hands as he begged. Your heart sunk. Dammit.
You took a deep breath and let him pull you closer. “What about what I want?” you asked him gently.
“What do you want?” he asked, voice just for you as he looked into your eyes.
You frowned. “I don’t know,” you admitted and looked away as tears began welling up.
His eyes searched your face as you denied him eye contact. Letting one of your hands go, he brought his then free hand up to hold your face. His thumb wiped at a stray tear. He coaxed you to look at him again. “I want you,” he whispered.
You could have melted right into him. Dammit, Liu. Your lip pouted as you fought the urge.
“Please…” He asked you again. You had to close your eyes so you wouldn’t see his face as you pulled away from him, against everything.
“Liu. You’re asking something of me that I just can’t give right now,” You told him. “I’ve… I’ve hardly given either of you a chance. I just shut down. And there’s a reason for that.”
“The tournament,” Liu said. “I know. But—”
“Not just the tournament. You. Lao. Me.”
Liu’s brows were knotted again as he stepped towards you.
“If I choose one of you, then the other is going to hold some grudge. You two are going to fight over me like I’m some prize.”
Liu’s jaw was clenching.
“I don’t want that to happen.”
He sighed heavily.
“I can’t choose, Liu.”
He nodded. “Alright,” he said, but you could tell that it wasn’t.
“Dammit, Liu,” you hissed.
He just stared at you… Dammit. He had those puppy dog eyes too. Just like Kung Lao. You could whine. You almost did. You shifted your weight. You even gave a little frustrated stomp. “Don’t look at me like that,” you pouted. But he just kept staring at you… those brown eyes of his even seemed to grow more desperate.
He must have known what he was doing. He had to have known what he was doing. Dammit. Dammit. Dammit.
“Fine!” You said. He wanted you to make a choice. You couldn’t. But fine. At least for today you could choose, right? “But just for today…”
Liu’s brows knotted.
“Just today,” you told him. “Just to… try it.” Maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea. Just take this day by day. Date them both? That wasn’t wrong, was it? Then you could figure out which one was a better fit for you…
Oh, but that would still drive a wedge between them. Shit. No. This wouldn’t work. “Wait. No—”
“Does that mean I can get you tomorrow?”
Both you and Liu turned to see Lao at the top of the stairs.
Ah, shit. “Wait—” you began, but were interrupted.
“Because, I’ll take it,” Lao said.
And that made you freeze. Lao… was okay with that? You looked to Liu. He didn’t look as excited by the offer. “Wait.” You held up both your hands now, to make sure neither of them interrupted you this time. “Just… Wait… Hold on,” you said. You had to get your thoughts straightened out. This problem obviously wasn’t just going to go away. The only way it’d get solved is if you three finally faced it… together. Maybe Raiden was right. Maybe you just had to find the right balance. Though… He probably didn’t mean to date both of them.
“Okay.” You sucked in a deep breath. “Obviously, I’ve been shit at handling this… I keep saying this, but I don’t think you two are really getting it: I don’t have any idea what I’m doing.” You were looking between them, gauging their reactions. “I can not choose. I can’t. I just can’t. I’m sorry. Do you both understand?”
You watched them both exchange a look with each other, then look back to you. They both nodded.
Okay. Alright. So far, so good. “The truth is… I like you both. You’re both great. Amazing… but together… You’re perfect. You compliment each other.”
“What are you saying?” Liu asked.
“I… don’t know.” You frowned. They both gave you inquisitive looks. “I just… What if I dated you both?” You let that hang in the air for a moment before continuing. “I know how it sounds. But… What better way to figure out which one of you is the right choice?” You had a point. You knew you did. And judging by their faces, you knew they did too.
“I don’t like it,” Liu said, which made you frown.
“I don’t either,” Lao told you.
You were sinking. They weren’t going to make this easier on you, where they?
“But, I’ll do it,” Lao added.
You perked up. You looked to Liu.
Liu sighed. He nodded. He didn’t like it, but he’d go along with it. He didn’t seem to have a choice. If he wanted you, he’d have to compete with Lao.
You sighed in relief. “And one more thing,” you said. “No fighting.” You looked between them.
Liu straightened as he looked to his brother. Lao looked Liu over. When they both looked back to you, they both nodded.
“I mean it,” you told them. “If you two fight, then we’re done. I don’t choose either of you.”
“We understand,” Liu said.
“No fighting. We promise,” Lao assured you. And god, did you hope they meant it.

Not So Dangerous Liaison - Sidney Crosby - Part 25
Word Count: 2,751
POV:  Reader
Warngings: Language, NSFW, Smut
Notes: Thank you anon for holding me accountable on getting this out. Sorry I didn’t get a chance to do this last night, but here it is. When last we saw these two, (Y/N) had gotten called into a meeting with GM from the Capitals. Wonder what he wants? Let’s find out. As always love your feedback and Happy Reading! Let me know what you guys think.
Not So Dangerous Liaison Masterlist
Tumblr media
You sat at your desk across from the Capitals General Manager, wondering if he was going to pull the rug out from underneath your relationship with Sidney. He said that your name had kept coming up in conversation and you knew that couldn’t be a good thing. Though why the league had chosen him to be the bearer of bad news to you, you weren’t sure.
Your stomach churned as thoughts of having to make a choice between Sidney and your job crept in. If MacLellan asked you point blank to make a decision right then you didn’t know what you’d say. “Don’t look so distraught, Ms. (Y/LN). I’ve only heard good things about you.” Well, at least that was something, though it didn’t make you feel any better at the moment. “It’s actually the reason why I’m here. I want you to come work for us.”
You couldn’t have heard him right. Was he actually offering you a job? “I’ve heard the players and staff talk about how much you’re making their life easier. I need that in the Capitals organization. If we’re going to make a run for the cup, I want our players to have the best of everything, and that includes you, Ms. (Y/LN).”
“I’m flattered, truly, but…”
The GM didn’t let you finish. “I realize I’m asking a lot. Name your price. I’m sure Mario is paying you well. We can offer you more.”
“It’s not about that.” For it really wasn’t.
“I understand Ms. (Y/LN), you don’t want to give any numbers away.” Again, he didn’t let you finish talking. He grabbed a piece of paper and a pen off your desk and you knew he was writing down a salary figure for you; one you weren’t sure you wanted to look at. “Let’s start here and you tell me if I need to go higher.” He slid the paper across to you. “Go ahead take a look,” he insisted when you didn’t open it right away.
The amount was generous, more than generous really. It wasn’t that you weren’t being paid well by the Pens organization, you were, but this, well this was an amount that would buy you a Chanel bag every month along with matching shoes and still have plenty left over for anything else you wanted to buy. “It’s…well…”
“Say no more.” He wrote down another number and you knew it was more.
“Mr. MacLellan, this is a generous offer, but I’m going to…”
“I get it, I get it.” He said waving his hand to stave off anything more you wanted to say. “You need time to think about.” He stood up then. “Go home, take a couple nights to mull it over. I think you’d be an excellent addition to the Capitals organization Ms. (Y/LN). I’ll be in touch.” He reached over and you shook his hand.
You stood there speechless, as the GM was leaving your office. He turned though right before he exited. “I look forward to working with you Ms. (Y/LN).”
Stunned, that’s what you were when he finally left your office. What had actually just happened? The man did not let you get a word in at all, and now he was going to be calling you in a few days. You felt completely dumbfounded, both by the man and his offer. There was no time to think about that now though, you had a job to do.
What you didn’t know was that as you stood there collecting your thoughts, Sid was standing outside your office. Dana had mentioned that MacLellan was waiting for you in your office and he was curious what the GM wanted with you. Unfortunately for you, he’d only heard the last part of the conversation, the part where MacLellan said that you’d be a great part of the Caps organization and that he looked forward to working with you. Those words echoed in his ears. Were you really going to take a job with one of the Penguins' most hated rivalries? Better yet, were you going to be leaving him? That last part didn’t sit well with Sid at all. His stomach was in knots.
He walked back to the locker room dazed, going through his pregame rituals without any thought. Sid had done them so many times they were almost like a mechanical reflex. It was easy for him to avoid you, as you tended to give him space before a game, though he was having trouble getting you off his mind.
Sid put every effort into the game, ignoring that pit in his gut that said you were going to leave him. The game was high scoring and saw the Pens and Caps going into overtime, but the Pens were victorious. When you found Sid after the game, he was in a lousy mood despite the victory. You chalked it up to not winning in regulation and just remained silent as the two of you made your way to the car. The only thing that bothered you was that he didn’t try to hold your hand or give you a kiss as he did after every game, no matter if they won or lost. “Everything alright?” you finally asked once you were ensconced inside the vehicle. Sid didn’t answer right away. “I know it sucks giving up that point, but at least Shears was able to get the goal in OT to give us the extra one.”
Sid simply grunted in acknowledgment. You knew then that there was definitely something more than the game going on with him, but decided to wait until you were home to talk about it. The minute you pulled in the drive you couldn’t keep quiet any longer. “Sid, is something wrong? Are you upset with me?” You were both out of the car by then, and Sid definitely slammed the door with more force than necessary. “Sidney,” you yelled chasing after him as he entered the house through the garage. He was halfway in the kitchen before you got a chance to speak again. “Sidney Patrick Crosby, what the hell is wrong with you?”
“Me! There’s nothing wrong with me!” His voice was raised and you could practically see the anger radiating off him. He dropped his bag in the kitchen not even turning around to look at you.
“Sidney!” you shouted, in hopes that he would at least stop. When he didn’t you turned on your heel and headed back towards the garage. “When you’re ready to talk to me, I think you know where you can find me.” This was the exact reason that you hadn’t given up your place yet, because you knew there would be a time just like this that he would shut you out.
“Do I?” Sid yelled back, finally stopping when he’d almost crossed the threshold of the kitchen. “Maybe I’ll check for you in DC.” His anger was rising more with each passing second and it took every ounce of willpower he had not to just throw something
“What did you say?” You didn’t turn around as you tried to absorb Sid’s words.
“You heard me, (Y/N). I know you’re going to work for the Capitals.” He stomped back into the kitchen, while your hand remained on the doorknob to the garage. “How could you (Y/N)? How can you take a job with one of our rivals? How could you turn on our team like that? Or the organization?” It was then that you turned around and look at Sid. The anger that was once written all over his face gradually fading away to hurt. “How could you leave me?”
You were trying to keep up with all his questions, but that last one broke your heart. It was at that moment, that you realized that had the Capitals GM been there to make you choose between Sid and your job, you’d choose Sid every time. Sure, MacLellan had offered you a job, one that you knew the moment it was made, you’d turn down, but you weren’t turning it down because for any other reason than the man standing right in front of you. “Sid, I’m not leaving.”
He shook his head as if he didn’t believe you. You weren’t sure what he’d heard, or how he’d heard it, but he needed to know that you weren’t walking away from him. “I’m not taking the job with the Capitals.”
“But I heard him, (Y/N). I heard him say that he looked forward to working with you.”
It took exactly three steps for you to erase the distance between yourself and Sid, and though you took your hand and raised it to his cheek, to be even just a bit closer; he still distanced himself from you emotionally. “Yes, he said that, and if he would’ve let me say a word, I would’ve told him that there was nothing that could make me leave this team or you.” The dead look that had taken over his usual smiling hazel eyes finally lifted at your words. “I love you, Sid, and yes this job is important to me, but I realized tonight, that you’re more important than all of it.” That earned you a smile, as his hands finally came up to rest on your waist. “When I came to Mario with this idea, I had no idea if it would work or even be needed. He and I agreed we’d try it out for a year. I don’t even know if come March, he’ll want to keep me around.” Sid gave you that look, the one that said that the great Mario Lemieux would be a fool to let you go. He even made an attempt to tell you that, but you stopped him. “But what I do know, is that I want to stay here with you. If that means that in a couple months I’m out of work and job hunting, so be it; because the only thing that matters is that I get to be with you.”
Sid’s lips came down on yours in a bruising kiss. One that stole not only your breath but your senses away as well. It was minutes before either of you were coming up for air. “God, I love you,” Sid breathed out as his hazel eyes locked with yours. “I never should’ve believed for a second that you would take a job with the Capitals. It’s just when I heard MacLellan, my mind went into overdrive.”
“Your mind is always in that mode.” He laughed but it was true. Sid processed things so fast from years of playing hockey that when it came to your relationship, he forgot that there were two of you in it.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, his puppy dog eyes making you melt. “I need to learn to stop doubting you.”
“Yes, you do, but you’re forgiven. Just don’t shut down on me again.”
He hauled you in closer so that not even a centimeter separated the two of you. “I’ll try not to.” Sid dropped his forehead to yours as he continued to hold you in his arms.
“That’s all I can ask. Though if you have any tips on how to deal with the Caps GM, I’ll take it. The man literally would not let me get a word in.”
“I’ll call him right now and tell him your answer’s no.”
He started to walk away, but it was your turn to pull him into you. “Don’t you dare. I can tell him that myself when he calls.”
“Fine,” Sid reluctantly agreed. “I know you can handle him, but if he tries to steal my girl again, I make no promises.”
You sweetly pecked his lips, for it was adorable of him to stand up for you. “Deal. Now that that’s settled let’s call it a night. It’s been a long day.”
Sid had other ideas though as his hands slid down your waist and he grabbed your ass. “Mmm, not just yet.” His hands were gathering your skirt and hiking it up. “I feel like I should make a proper apology.” He dropped to his knees then, taking your panties with him. Once you stepped out of them, he glided his hands up your inner thighs, parting them to give himself better access to your core. Taking his index finger, Sid slowly dragged it through your folds. “Fuck baby, I’ve barely touched you and you’re wet.”
Sid just had that effect on you and you knew he loved it. “I thought you were apologizing,” you teased, while he just grinned up at you.
“Oh, baby it’s on now.” There was a wicked glint in his eye right before he spread your pussy lips and took his tongue licking a stripe up to your clit. You were able to suppress the shiver that wracked your body but not the moan that came from your lips. When Sid put his mind to something there was no stopping him and you had a feeling you were in for it, as his tongue flicked over your little nub. It was exquisite torture and had you leaning back against the kitchen island for support.
Sid lifted your one leg, placing it easily over his shoulder to give him greater access to you. His tongue found its way inside your pussy, pushing you close to the brink, as his nose nudged at your clit. He took his time, building you up and backing off when he felt you nearing that point of no return. You groaned in frustration every time. “Sid!” You growled, sifting your fingers through his locks, in hopes to get him to tip you over the edge.
You felt him smirk against you but he still didn’t relent. Your hips pushed against his face seeking the release he wasn’t ready to give. They only stopped when his hands gripped them, keeping you still while practically lifting you in the air. It was only then that he decided to be merciful. Giving it his all, as he ate your pussy with renewed vigor. When you finally hit that high, it felt as if you were flying and you screamed out his name as your body shook with pleasure.
Sid set you back on the ground but still held on to your hips. Knowing that you’d be a bit wobbly after the earth shattering orgasm he gave you. “You are definitely forgiven,” you breathed out when he finally stood up. He kissed your lips and you could taste your essence on him. You pushed his pants and boxers down, while your tongues entwined. It was only once his cock was free that you turned and bent over the island.
“Fuck (Y/N),” Sid hissed as you presented yourself to him. He entered you in one swift motion, both of you groaning as he filled you. There wouldn’t be a day that you would tire of this; feeling his cock inside you was like your piece of heaven on earth. One hand gripped your hip, while Sid’s other came around and played with your still clothed breasts. “So fucking good,” he moaned, thrusting just a bit so he was buried balls deep in you.
When he didn’t move, you did; fucking yourself on his cock. “Jesus (Y/N).” You felt his cock twitch inside you and you sped up the pace. The sound of your ass slapping against him and your moans were the only things filling the kitchen air. As you pushed back against him this time, you felt him snap. His grip on your hip tightening as he took control, slamming into your pussy. The hand on your breasts snuck down to your clit to rub it furiously. Sid was an unselfish lover, just as he was an unselfish player on the ice. Always wanting you to reach that pinnacle of release before he did, even when you’d already reached it once. It didn’t take much for the climax to hit you, as your pussy quivered around his cock, and with a few erratic thrusts, he came with you.
Both of you were breathing harshly, as Sid brought your body up flush against his chest. He dropped a few kisses to your neck, then tilted your head so that your mouths could meet. “I love you, (Y/N) and I really am sorry for doubting you.”
You twisted in his embrace so that you were face to face. “I love you too, Sid.”

Thank you so much to @moonofthenight for being my beta at this hour especially :)
Characters by @lumosinlove
„I have nothing to wear,“ Kasey complained, standing in front of their closet, a few shirts pooling at his feet.
There was a groan from the living room of their shared flat and then footsteps making their way over to the bedroom. Alex coming to a halt in the door frame. “Babe. Look down, pick something up, you’re done,” he said smiling at his boyfriend. They had hours left until Remus’ and Sirius’ wedding, so they were in no rush. By hours, Alex meant 63 hours.
He shook out of his thoughts, concentrating on the frustrated boyfriend at hand.
Kasey huffed, “Have you seen these? We’re going to a wedding. The best wedding-” he stopped himself, biting his lip for a second before continuing, “the best wedding we’ll be going to for a while, I will not just wear a black suit and be done with it,” Kasey stated, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Alex had been planning to just wear his blue suit. He had debated about buying a new tie to go with Natalie’s attire, but that would have been all.
“Hey,” as if he knew exactly what was going on, Kasey stepped out of the pile of clothes and up to the redhead, “I know you were planning on wearing your blue suit. It’s a great choice, you look so hot in that damn thing,” the blond looked down at his boyfriend, grinning “But I want to look just as good,” Kasey simply told him, leaning down to peck his cheek.
Alex was about to cut in, complain, that Kasey was the best-looking man on the planet, whether he was wearing a trash bag or sweatpants or gear or a goddamn ball gown- he had to stop himself at that, because Alex’s thoughts would definitely not help Kasey in choosing an outfit. Although he wouldn’t have to wear one at all, which might take a little stress away.
Alex's head snapped up again. During his thoughts his eyes had somehow moved to Kasey’s lips without his control. He remembered the days where people used to think he had a crush on them, just because his in-thoughts brain had decided to make his eyes stare at inappropriate places. Then Alex remembered that wasn’t the case anymore. He actually wanted, what his eyes were implying. Tilting his head up again, he placed a kiss on Kasey’s lips.
Then Alex had to tell him. “You will always look incredible. No matter what.”
The other smiled at that. “Even if I wear a neon green bow tie with a neon pink suit?”
Letting out a bright laugh, Alex told him, “Even if you wear sweatpants to the wedding.”
“I would rather stay at home,” Kasey huffed out, still smiling though. Then he turned back towards the closet, “I was going to ask for your advice, but from what you just said, that will do more harm than good. No offense.”
“Wow,“ the older pretended to be hurt by the comment, laughing too much to make it believable, which got Kasey to join in.
They only noticed their girlfriend had joined them, when Alex felt arms hugging him around his chest. He felt her hum into his back, her cheek pressed to his spine. Alex closed his eyes at the feeling, leaning into it.
Kasey being Kasey, they didn’t stay alone for long. Alex and Nat both got a kiss on the cheek, before they were cuddled by the blond, trying to squish himself as close to his loves as possible.
“Of course he would,” she muttered under her breath, smiling up at her boys. “That’s what today is for.”
After a while, Natalie asked them what they had been laughing about, the question only resulting in more of that, until she had to laugh as well. She still couldn’t believe how she got to have them. Both of them.
“Kasey needs help with his outfit for the wedding,” Alex told her between breaths. She didn’t seem surprised.
Both hockey players looked up in surprise.
“I’m taking you shopping, because you,” she pointed at Kasey, “will not stop whining until we bought you a new something and you” she continued, pointing at Alex this time, “will need another tie, because all blue is a great look, but why live life in one color?”
Since Natalie and Kasey had agreed on helping Alex first, they were currently browsing through the tie section of the store. They had already found a few that would either fit with Natalie’s dress or Alex’s hair and some that just looked nice.
After making a few decisions without Alex, the other two let him see the final options they had limited themselves to. A floral one with red and orange flowers that would compliment his hair or a sky blue one that would not only fit with the jumpsuit Natalie had picked out for herself a few weeks ago, but would also make his eyes pop, as Alex’s partners had explained excitedly.
He couldn‘t help but be biased towards the blue one, when he saw both their eyes glint with something. The team knew about them, that they were dating and being each other’s date to the wedding, so he might as well match.
Alex knew he made the right choice, when he told them the blue one. Natalie couldn‘t hide her grin and it lifted the corner’s of Alex‘s mouth automatically.
“A redhead down, a blond to go!” and with that Natalie was already off to another section, where shirts were displayed. Both boyfriends went after her.
A few minutes went by of them just quickly scanning through the options, when they turned around to find no less than seven shirts already piled in Kasey’s arms a face splitting grin on his face.
“Oh babe,” both his partners said at the same time in the exact same voice. It would have been scary if Kasey wasn’t head over heels in love with both of them.
“Can I try them on?” he asked them excitedly, already subtly moving towards the changing rooms. They knew he had golden retriever tendencies, but this time they practically saw a tail wagging behind him.
And how could they ever deny him anything when he had puppy dog eyes to match.
It took about sixteen shirts to find one that Kasey loved enough to want to wear it to the wedding.
Alex was sitting on one of the chairs in front of the changing rooms and after Natalie had complained about the professional hockey player taking a seat before her, she was now sitting in his lap, her fingers moving through his red curls as Kasey stepped out again.
“Tada!” he stretched his arms out right before gesturing to his shirt. “I think this might be the one,” he told them, turning around to look at himself in the mirror. Kasey was fully aware that brides usually used that phrase, but he didn’t care. He was allowed this moment. Maybe he would get to hear that sentence from Natalie and Alex soon. Maybe they could have that.
He turned back to his partners, showing off the white floral shirt again.
“You look incredible,” Alex told him, a bit dazed and not looking his boyfriend in the eyes. Kasey looked down, where the redhead’s eyes were fixed, caught on his half open shirt, revealing more of his chest than would probably be considered normal at a wedding.
Natalie didn’t really reply, she just got up, kissing Kasey. No one of the throuple seemed to mind. After breaking the kiss, leaving the goalie blushing, she leaned in whispering into his ear “I’m buying you that right now. You look fantastic.”
Walking back over to Alex, sitting down again, they watched Kasey shake out of his state, smiling to himself and turning around to change back into his normal clothes.
Natalie really did pay for both of their things and put in some earrings she had seen close to the checkout. When she handed over her card to the cashier, she got a snort form behind her. She turned around to look at her boyfriends with a confused expression.
“You’re like our sugar mommy,” Alex told her smiling brightly.
She was fully aware they earned a whole world more than she did, but she liked paying for them every once in a while. She didn’t want them to think she wanted them because of the money. Logically, she knew she never had to pay, but it just felt right sometimes and it was all worth it for their expressions once they got their things.
They would look incredible at the wedding.

Many rays of sunshine peaked through the thin curtains of her small apartment as the vanilla scented candle was lit on her nightstand, relaxing her muscles as she breathed the sweet air in, closing her eyes to bask in the moment before reopening them again. With gentle fingers Y/N grazed down at the onesie she had bought just a few days ago, wondering if it’d fit a newborn baby or if it was too big. She really hoped it was true that babies grow out of their clothes pretty fast because she really didn’t have a clue when it came to baby stuff, considering she felt too young to have a child of her own yet and none of her relationships had ever gotten to the point where the baby-talk became a serious topic. Not even with Harry, whom she saw the most potential to have a child with, ever mentioned starting a family with her and if Y/N was completely honest, she was relieved about that. She wouldn’t know what to say or what to think, after all she just wasn’t ready yet.
After a few minutes of blankly staring at the little yellow piece of clothing with the daisies embroidered on them, she put it neatly away in a cute little bag that said ‘congratulations’ on it in a glittery font. A little stuffed elephant and a red toy rattle completed her gift, making her hope that her friend would like them and that she didn’t do too bad for it being her first baby shower. And even after the multiple hours she has spent, searching on the internet, could prepare her for what was about to come, but she was sure she’d have a good time.
A small laugh escaped her lips as she remembered back to when she bought these items and Harry kept on insisting to buy the little elephant with the ridiculously huge ears, because it reminded him of the little elephant in the Disney movie ‘Dumbo’. Even though Y/N wasn’t sure if that was the right choice, she couldn’t say no to Harry’s many protests and those gorgeous puppy dog eyes, he gave her, like a small child begging his mother to buy him a toy he fancied. And at the end Harry always bought the best presents, much to her delight because she usually struggled with finding the fitting item.
Y/N was too deeply occupied with her thoughts that she didn’t even hear the shower turning off, but when her bedroom door opened with a small creek, she turned her head towards the source of noise. Instantly a small smile spread over her concentrated features when she saw Harry. His wet curls were slicked behind his ears as tiny droplets were still covering his smooth looking skin that looked more red than usually, probably from the warm temperature of the water.
“Hey, baby.” He greeted her when his shiny green eyes met her set of glowing eyes with longing. With his large hand he gripped his towel tighter around his torso as he walked towards her at a fast pace, as if he hadn’t seen her for too long. Harry didn’t even notice his desire to be close to her, it came so naturally to him. If one of his friends were like that he’d be quick to point it out and whisper about how whipped they were. Now it was his turn to feel those butterflies in his stomach and he can’t say he had anything to complain about, considering how he’d feel so shallow if he hadn’t had those exciting butterflies. When Harry was close enough to her, his hands immediately found her waist while hers were placed gently on his toned chest. Y/N was able to feel his faint heartbeat, but she didn’t know how it had picked up on speed when she touched him. “What are you doing?” He asked before nustling his face into her neck, prepping small kisses along her sweet skin, ignoring the fact that his wet curls were tickling her.
She tried to push him away for a second before she let him do what he always did; love on her. And she couldn’t help but bite onto her bottom lip to keep a grin from spreading. “Was just packing the gift for the baby shower.” Her hands immediately met with his wet curls, running smooth circles on his scalp.
He breathed pleasantly at the gentle pressure. “Did you put the elephant in it?” Harry made sure to ask after enjoying her touch for a little while.
Y/N laughed. “I wouldn’t dare not to.” And she truly meant it, as she trusted him to drive all the way to the party, just to give her the stuffed animal.
“Good.” Harry simply stated as he let go of her with one last peck to her forehead. “I kinda liked waking up next to you today.” He confessed as he grabbed another towel to dry his hair with. His back was facing as he roamed through the dark wardrobe with one hand and holding the towel up with the other. Harry was able to feel her stare on him but he couldn’t see the questionable look on her face.
“Kinda?”
He let out a breathless laugh, looking at her over his shoulder. “I liked it. A lot. You should stay over more often.”
“I would, but you talk way too much in your sleep.” She half heartedly joked because he does talk in his sleep and at first it did freak her out a bit but by now she’s gotten used to that. She wouldn’t let him know that yet, knowing it’d take the opportunity away to tease him.
“Oi! That’s not true.” Offended, he pouted his lips and crossed his strong arms in front of his bare chest. “Besides you snore.”
“Now you’re lying. I never snore!” She stomped with her foot, like a grumpy child.
“A little.” She gave him a glare but he just laughed it off. “Why is it called a baby shower, by the way?” I mean, there’s no baby to shower, right?” Harry tried to change the subject, so he wouldn’t make the mistake to get her more annoyed with him, or even get her angry, when he had no intention of insulting her. To be honest, he thought it was endearing to watch her sleep, as her mouth was slightly agape and tiny snores would leave her nostrils. She looked so at peace that it warmed his heart instantly, thinking that she felt that comfortable with him.
Y/N let out a breathy laugh, shrugging her shoulders, as she put her hand on her mouth. “I don’t know, H. But there definitely is no baby, yet. And why would someone throw a party, just to shower their child?”
“Good question.” With his fingers he grabbed the small gift and peaked inside, seeing the items they had chosen together. A warm feeling captured his body when memories clouded his vision and those recurring thoughts he’s had ever since their shopping spree.
For a second too long, he kept his stare, as his body tensed a bit. He really didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable with what was going through his head as he feared it might be a little bit too soon for them to discuss this topic.
But Y/N noticed his tiny change in behaviour. “Is everything alright?” She asked with a sprinkle of worry on her eyes as her right hand grabbed his arm, in a trusting manner.
“I– yeah, everything’s fine.” Harry wondered why it sounded so much like a lie when everything was indeed fine. They didn’t fight, they didn’t have an issue or anything that would have been concerning. But why did he feel like he had to get something off of his chest, when there was no reason to?
Y/N raised her eyebrow at him. “That did not sound convincing.” He tried to hold her stare but when she returned that with a more intense glare, he gave up in defeat, knowing well, that he couldn’t lie to her.
Harry sighed. “Fine, but just please don’t freak out.” He waited for a reaction from her and when she nodded her head, he finally breathed out the air that he had kept inside unpurposefully. “It’s– I have been thinking lately and you can totally stop me if I’m going too far –or if you feel pressured, uncomfortable, caged, not rea–“
“–Harry, breathe, please. You’re rambling.” She pinched her eyebrows together and had a small 'v' formed between her eyes, which clearly was a sign of her concern. With a pleading look, she put her arms around his torso and pulled him closer to her chest. Her hands guided up and down his back, comforting him to tell her again.
He nodded his head repeatedly, as he went on. “Ok, it’s just, I think babies are cute and sure, they poop and puke and cry a lot but they’re worth it, at the end.” With big eyes he looked her up and down as confusion overshadowed her features. Where was he going with the conversation?
“I guess?” She asked as she studied him with uncertainty in her big eyes, urging him to continue.
He tried to get his breathing steady, but failed as he tried to form a new sentence. “And I don’t know how it is to be pregnant, but I guess I’d like to be pregnant, one day –if I could!” With his right foot he tapped against the light hardwood floor while the anxiety got the best of him. He truly was unsure whether or not he should talk about this topic but at this point it was too late to back out anyways.
A small chuckle left her lips, completely ignoring the seriousness but she wanted to get rid of the tension that seemed too thick for her liking. “You can’t get pregnant, Harry.” She joked slightly but when she saw him shook his head at her, she frowned again. He looked at her expectedly, as if she should know what was going through his head and he really wished she could read his mind. A shiver ran down her spine when she noticed when his stare would wander from her face to her stomach, realisation hit her like a brick. “Oh… do you want to have kids?” Y/N didn’t know why she asked that. She always has suspicion, whenever she sees him interact with children. His eyes would lit up, a huge smile spread across his face, making Y/N wonder if it didn’t hurt and he’d be successful at making them befriend him. So, it really wasn’t a shock that he wanted to have kids, to call his own.
He slightly nodded. “Yeah. Not right this moment, but one day. Do you?” Troubles made themselves presentable in her head, wondering if he’d be fine to wait for her to be ready to. But when he made it clear that he wanted to wait himself, a small smile tickled at the corners of Y/N’s sweet lips.
“One day, far away in the future, sure.” She shrugged her shoulders, getting worse at hiding her happiness. Her heart started beating faster and butterflies erupted in her stomach. Did he really want to have kids with her when he could choose anyone? Y/N didn’t want it to get to her head because he never said that, but she felt happy. Her twitching lips, confirming her sudden boost of dopamine.
“Good, because I’d want to be the father of your kids.” He confessed in a tiny whisper while a part wished she didn’t hear and the other part hoped that she did. “And just so you know, no matter what happens I’ll always take care of you and the kids.” His voice gained strength after a smile broke out on her face, giving him the confidence he needed. Her heart was growing shamelessly at his affectionate words but she tried to play it cool, not knowing that she failed at that.
“Oh, so we’re having multiple children now?” She tried to joke, poked his rips, that made him shy away from her a little while her eyes looked him up and down adoringly.
“I mean, it’s up to you but I could deal with one, or two, or three, or maybe seven.” Shocked, her eyes shot wide open. “I’m joking! Not seven, but maybe more than one, if you’re up to.” Y/N rolled her eyes and her arm slapped almost unnoticeably his strong and tattooed arm before caressing the spot with soft strokes.
“Are you sure, you’d want kids with me?” Nervously she bit her lip, just wanting him to confirm his feelings and that she wasn’t getting happy and sappy too soon. He wouldn’t joke about it, would he?
“Of course! Imagine having little versions of us running around the house. Someone with our features mixed together perfectly.” He stretched his arm out as he dramatically began to describe. “They should have your perfect nose.” He bopped her nose with his finger. “Or those beautiful eyes.” His hands grazed over her eyes. “Or those perfect, soft lips.” His thumb ran over her lip as he bit onto his own. “To be honest, they should be just like you.” His eyes were staring intensely right back at hers, making goosebumps cover her delicate skin. “They’d turn out to be perfect.”
Y/N shook her head in trance as she didn’t know what to say at his affectionate words. Butterflies went crazy inside her after he said what he said and she couldn’t grasp the fact how he could love her like that. Not that she didn’t know her worth but she just wasn’t able to understand how love like this could exist. “No, they should have your hair, and your eyes and those lips.” She managed to choke out when tears tickled the rim of her eyes.
He laughed, allowing his own eyes to get wet. “Well, nevertheless they’ll be perfect.” His Arms went around her body and pushed her towards him in a soft hug. “I’m sorry, have I made it weird?” He asked, as he pulled away. Harry didn’t think that she felt uncomfortable because the way her eyes were beaming and her lips were twitching, spoke volumes. But he could never be too sure, right?
She shook her head, letting him smile wider if it was possible at this point. “No, no, no! I think it’s cute, I don’t mind.” Harry felt her hand tickling his back but he didn’t pull away as he loved to feel her touch in him. Her thumb was rubbing small circles at his back while his hands were gripping her hips tightly, not wanting the moment to end as both of them stared into each other’s eyes.
His excitement got the best of him, when he received the confirmation he needed. “Did you think of any names yet? I was thinking of Harry Junior!” The words came rushing out of his mouth while he imagined the future ahead of them.
Shakingly she laughed and let her arms wander to his neck, where she grabbed and pulled softly at his curly hair. “Babe, I’ve to go to the shower.” With her finger she pointed at the clock. “It’s getting late.” She said, before she leaned in to kiss his blushing cheeks.
“Oh, yeah, of course. Do you need me to drive you?”
“No that’s alright, thank you.” She pressed her lips onto his in a sweet kiss, lingering a bit after their confessions were made. With one last longing look, she grabbed the present, turned around but before she exited the room, she made sure to let him know what she thought of that name. “We’re never naming our child that!” A smile grazed Harry’s lips as he thought of all the bickering that would be ahead of them if they were actually expecting. And no matter how hard the journey will be, he couldn’t wait for the time to approach sooner.

"Pleeaasse, Lena." You pouted once again. You had been begging Yelena for the favour for an hour now; her stubborness was proving hard to overcome.
"I'm busy." Yelena said, her accent strong as she walked around her appartment to collect things for her next mission.
"But will you be busy on the 10th?" You asked from the couch where you watched her disappear into various rooms as she talked.
"I thought you said it was a few days." Yelena quipped, seemingly only giving you half her attention.
"Please, Lena." You tried. "I need a win." Yelena stopped by the kitchen counter and gave you a long, considering look. You had long given up on your puppy dog eyes and instead copied her expression as you chewed on your bottom lip.
"I'll think about it." Yelena finally said before grabbing something from the cupboard.
But you did have Yelena.
Not to mention that was a huge part of you that was dying to see what the Yelena girlfriend experience would entail. Yep, that was what you were asking of Yelena. To pretend to be your partner for the duration of the trip.
"When are you going?" You asked, changing the subject in hopes that Yelena wouldn't suddenly conclude she didn't want to do it (then you really would have to ask one of the others).
You knew it wasn't a smart choice. That if Yelena agreed your crush on her could get out of hand. You knew you would end up getting too caught up in the act. You could have, no - should have - asked Natasha or Wanda or even Carol if she was around. But your family knew you were the closest with Yelena and she would be the one it felt the most natural with, and the most believable. At least, that was what you told Yelena.
"Tomorrow." Yelena answered, keeping her focused tone.
"When will you be back?" You attempted to keep the concern out of your voice but the glance Yelena gave you told you you hadn't done a good job.
"The day after." She said, softer this time. You nodded as you looked down at your lap and tried not to think about everything that could possibly go wrong on her mission.
"Be safe." Yelena strolled over to you and placed her hand gently ontop of yours and gave it a quick squeeze.
"Always."
¤
"Got any plans Saturday night?" Natasha smirked knowingly at her friend as they preped for their mission.
"No." Yelena replied as she slotted a spare gun into her leg harness.
"Nothing with y/n then?" Nat asked, partly genuinely but mostly knowing Yelena would still say no.
"No." Yelena said again, biting the inside of her cheek in consideration before speaking again. "Not this Saturday."
Natasha raised an eyebrow in surprise and interest. Yelena rarely made any kind of special plans with you as you would always hang out casually so it was never anything fancy or different that needed planning. She had always wanted to though.
"Plans for another time?" Nat continued as she double checked her pack.
"Maybe, I'm still thinking about it." The redhead turned fully to her friend at her words, confused at why Yelena was hesitant to spend time with you. "She wants me to go to the cabin with her and her family." Nat had heard all about the infamous cabin and your family.
"That sounds fun." Nat nodded. The cabin sounded fun. Your family did not.
"As her girlfriend." Nat's eyes widened excitedly but before she could speak Yelena clarified. "Her pretend girlfriend."
Nat paused and looked as though she was going to speak for several seconds until she stuck to just giving a confused look.
"Yeah." Yelena sighed. "Thinks it would seem impressive." Yelena had tried not to be hurt over that. She knew you weren't just friends with her to show her off to people, because you never did. But it hurt her to think the only time you could see her in a romantic way was when you were pretending.
"Well," Nat muttered as she adjusted the zip along the front of her catsuit. "Fake it till you make it." It was Yelena's turn to give Nat a questioning look. "Maybe it'll be an eye opener for her."
"You think I should do it?" Yelena asked, fully open to hearing and accepting her friend's advice in that area.
"Definelty." Nat confirmed. She wasn't sure about it for the reasons she said though. Yelena's crush on you was obvious to everyone except you, just as it was vice versa.
¤
You had been overjoyed when Yelena told you she would come with you to the cabin and play along as your girlfriend. She had told you when she came back from her mission, in fact it was the first thing she said after she had let herself into your appartment.
It was never really brought up after that, but you couldn't deny you were incredibly anxious on the week leading up to the visit.
On the drive up to the cabin you and Yelena stayed in a comfortable silence most of the time, clearly both lost in thought. You had the radio on for background noise more than anything else, but you would occasionally lightly tap the steering wheel if there was a tune you recognised, oblivious to Yelena's acknowledging smiles.
"So what's the plan?" Yelena asked as she looked at you expectantly. Right, of course the spy wanted a strategy.
"Keep things simple, I guess. They know how we met already so we can just say at some point we took things a step further than friendship." Yelena didn't seem convinced at the simplicity of that. "Look they're not going to want to hear about us, not much at least. They prefer the sound of their own voices, they'll be trying to impress you is all."
"Impress me?" Yelena asked.
"Yeah, hope you warm up to them so one day they can invite you to their snobby parties." Yelena chuckled as she glanced out of the window, knowing there was a lot of truth to what you said.
"And what are those like?" She enquired curiously.
"I wouldn't know, I've never been invited." You said simply. You had gotten over that a long time ago, gotten used to being forgotten. Yelena clearly hadn't though.
"It will be an honour to turn them down." Yelena said. You shook your head and smiled at her. That did sound pretty nice.
When the cabin came into sight between the trees your nerves spiked. You figited in your seat and bit your lip when you saw some of your family gathered outside, their attention instantly on you. You shot Yelena a quick smile which she returned before you got out of the car.
"Y/n! So nice of you to come." You mum said as her eyes flickered to Yelena more than you. She opened her arms for the shortiest hug in human history before turning to Yelena. "You must be Yelena, we've heard so much." You mum insisted as she brought Yelena in for a hug too.
The blonde raised her eyebrows at you over your mum's shoulder and you bite back a laugh. The others came over to greet you and mainly Yelena in a rush, overwhelming both of you.
"You too will be in the upstairs bedroom on the left." Your mum told you as you went to grab your bags.
You and Yelena made your way up to the room and you couldn't help but smile at the sight of the spacious room and the door you knew led to your en suite.
"That was...a lot." Yelena summarised as she said her bag under the bed.
"I would tell you it gets better but I don't want to get your hopes up." You sighed as you got a couple of things out.
"It's just a few days." Yelena said despite the fact you should have been assuring her.
"Yeah." You nodded and stared down at the floor. "Now c'mon." You suddenly said as you took ahold of Yelena's hand and laced your fingers together.
"I do." Yelena said as she continued to hold onto your hand.
"Must be crazy, what are they like?" He enquired.
"They're good." Yelena said simply. Everyone clearly expected something more but Yelena pretended not to notice making you smile.
"I almost did business with Stark once, decided against it in the end." Claire announced proudly. You and Yelena exchanged knowing glances. Stark had told you all about his encounter with your sister, it definetly wasn't her turning him down.
"I was invited to one of his parties." Anna said quickly. "I was busy that night unfortunately."
Bull. Shit.
"Yes I remember working with Doctor Strange when he was still in the medical profession." You gave Yelena an I-told-you-so look as your family erupted into conversation over who had the most contact with the heroes. That had to be a new record of how quickly they started talking about themselves.
They continued like that until your mum called everyone in for dinner. The food smelt undeniably amazing as you took your place at the table next to Yelena and eyed the dishes infront of you. Your parents efforts to impress the blonde weren't all that bad.
Your family continued to catch up and and you and Yelena half listened as you ate. They were all doing as well for themselves as ever and still hadn't learnt any modesty.
Although you were proud of your siblings for what they had all achieved, Yelena had stopped four potentially devastating bombs going off in the space of half an hour a week before but she wasn't going to bring that up anytime soon.
Between you two." She said as she pointed at you and Yelena with her fork. You didn't say anything to that because you felt there really wasn't anything to say in response. It wasn't like you hadn't thought that exact thing every now and then.
"The team loves it." Yelena said suddenly making everyone, including you, look at her in slight surprise from speaking up. It hadn't taken your family long to learn Yelena wasn't much of a talker, not to them anyway.
Not that many though." A smug smile crept onto Dalton's face as he opened his mouth to make a snarky remark but Yelena cut him down again.
When everyone had finished their food you and Yelena excused yourselves and said goodnight before retiring to your room. Yelena shut the door gently as you collapsed onto the bed on your back and glared at the ceiling. The blonde shuffled around quietly to get her toothbrush and toothpaste and some other things you weren't really paying attention to and went into the bathroom.
When she came back out she was in her bedclothes and lifted your feet off the floor to turn you so you could fully lay on the bed. You smiled at her weakly.
"You should go get changed." Yelena said as she got her laptop out her bag.
You placed your toothbrush back I'm the holder and rinsed your mouth before heading back into the bedroom to an awaiting Yelena.
You got under the covers next to her and rested your head on her shoulder as you glanced at the Netflix screen and pointed to one of the comedy movies. About ten minutes into the movie Yelena spoke. "You okay?" She whispered as she continued to look at the screen although that wasn't where her focus was.
"Yeah." You whispered back.
"Promise?" She said after a second." You moved your head away so you could see Yelena clearly.
"I'm so glad you're here." You said honestly. She smiled and nodded as her eyes searched yours.
"I'm glad I'm here too." You knew Yelena wasn't glad she had to spend the time with your family. She was glad that she could support you despite their efforts to bring you down. You were incredibly lucky to have her.
You rested your head back on her shoulder and neither of you spoke for the rest of the movie. Or the rest of the night. You must have fallen asleep about half an hour in.
*
Yelena wasn't much of an intimate person. She made the odd exception with you and Natasha, but always seemed to refrain or hold herself back from being too close to you. So when you woke up and couldn't tell where your limbs started and Yelena's ended, you were surprised to say the least.
You were resting your head on her rising chest and had your arm slung across her stomach. Your legs were tangled together and her arms were holding onto your waist. A warmth spread through you and you decided to settle back into her hold and closed your eyes with a content smile.
You had about ten minutes to enjoy that before Yelena woke up.
"Morning." Yelena croaked when she left the bathroom and saw you sitting up in bed.
"Morning." You said back with a smile and tried not to focus on how ridiculously attractive her voice sounded.
You gathered some random clothes into a bundle and went into the bathroom to change again and brush your teeth. When you came out Yelena was pulling her shirt over her head and gave you a generous view of her toned stomach. Your face heated up when you saw it and you turned away to pretend you hadn't seen when Yelena noticed you.
"Don't make a sound." Yelena warned. You glanced up at her with some confusion. "I don't think your family's awake yet, that means we get the kitchen to ourselves." She grinned and you did too.
You and Yelena had gotten so used to getting up early for your jobs you forgot other people would still be sleeping.
You went over and started setting it up when Yelena joined you and eyed the table with a glimmer of mischief.
The blonde was the most competitive person you had ever met, you learnt that over a simple game of snakes and ladders years ago.
"You played this before?" You asked convosationally.
"I have." She said as you both automatically took up your positions of opposite ends of the table.
"Me too." You said confidently. "A lot." Yelena hummed in acknowledgment and swivelled her bat in her hand and stood ready. You smiled at her seriousness for the game.
You served surprisingly well for someone who hadn't played in a few years and Yelena was able to hit it back with ease. Once you had developed a steady pace you started hitting the ball more daringly to Yelena who was caught off guard before she started doing the same.
The moment you missed the ball a smug grin started on Yelena's face, her arrogance stopped her being aware of you suddenly sending the ball back her way until it was too late.
"That wasn't fair!" She exclaimed childishly.
"That was tables tennis." You said seriously but started smiling again. Yelena rolled her eyes and flipped you off as she trudged back to the table and served the ball with force.
Get over here, we're playing table tennis." You rolled your eyes at the intrusive and could sense Yelena refraining from doing the same until an idea popped into your head.
You caught the ball in your hand and smiled at Yelena's protests as you moved round to her side of the table just as your sister came out.
"I didn't even know we still had this." Claire laughed as she picked up another bat from the box.
"Maybe we should take it back with us." Yelena whispered to you and you bit your lip to contain your smile because yes, yes you should.
You and Yelena sat by the lake for most of the afternoon to enjoy the sun and heat. You reveled in the most recent memories of your siblings embarrassment and had to keep hushing down to childish whispered whoever one of them was nearby.
Surprisingly, dinner went by peacefully too. You weren't asked anymore questions at the table. Instead, your family were content with talking about their upcoming plans between stealing glances at you and Yelena that the blonde never failed to notice.
The pair of you slipped off to your room the first moment you got and easily fell into bed besides one another. Yelena picked out a horror movie instantly making you groan into her shoulder as she giggled.
She settled down beside you and within the first few jumpscares she slowly wrapped an arm around your shoulder so you could sink into her further. You were barely paying attention to the film after that.
Despite the chilling scenes of the film, you couldn't help but want to melt under the warmth of your best friend. You hoped it was something you got to experience more, you felt safer than you ever had in Yelena's arms.
Little did you know that having you in her arms was the most comforting feeling Yelena had ever experienced.
*
You had thought waking up in Yelena's arms the morning before had been the best thing to awake to. But that day when you woke up not only were your legs tangled together again but the blonde was slowly stroking your hair while your head rested on her chest.
*
When you woke up again Yelena was gone. Her absence left am emptiness you knew wasn't good for you. As the days of your visit went on your fake relationship with Yelena was going to effect you even more when it was over.
Over...you couldn't think about that.
Once you got up and got changed you found Yelena in the kitchen looking at the news on her phone as she sipped her coffee.
"Morning, honey." You grinned. Yelena blushed slightly into her coffee, something you thought was undeniably adorable.
"Morning yourself." She tried to play off smoothly making you grin more.
You made breakfast for you both just as your mum came into the kitchen and greeted you both with an overplayed smile, already talking to Yelena about an upcoming party that she should go to. Yelena mumbled something about a full schedule as you managed to whisp her away outside with your food.
Eventually, you and Yelena became bored with sitting around in the house when you had such amazing surroundings on your doorstep. You declared that you were going on a walk with the blonde and left before any of your family could invite themselves to go with you. Especially as you had told your friend to wear her swimwear underneath her clothing as you had a surprise for her.
You made a point of holding Yelena's hand as you left and once you were far away from the house went to take it back only for her to hold on tighter.
The blonde brought so much you were able to have a small picnic on top of a hill that overlooked the large lake that stretched out all the way back to the house. You remembered thinking up stories as to explain the strange shape and curves to it as a child.
"It's beautiful here." Yelena said as she picked some grapes from the bunch between you.
"It is." You agreed with a fond smile.
"I used to want to live in a place like this." She muttered, sparking your interest.
"In the woods?" You asked curiously and she nodded.
"I thought I could retire to the woods and get a small cabin and I could grow my own food and that was all I needed." You hummed with a smile as you studied Yelena's features.
"We?" Yelena asked hopefully, the emotion clear before she had a chance to conceal it.
"There's no one I'd rather run away and live in the forest with." You joked although there was a lot of truth to your words. The blonde considered you for a while before smiling and nodded as though she had reached her own internal conclusion.
"Come on." You said suddenly as you stood up and dusted yourself off.
"You want to go back?" Yelena asked and you grinned.
"I'm going to show you that surprise." You declared and packed the remaining food away. Yelena did the same, eager to see the surprise you kept secret the whole way.
It was quite a way back to the house. The whole time Yelena kept asking more questions about it but you wouldn't say. She could only make guesses based on the swim wear which should have left only a few options, non of which she got right.
Finally, you arrived where you wanted to and grinned at Yelena before starting towards the edge. The blonde frowned as she watched you approach the ledge and became worried when she invisioned the steep slope that didn't always lead to water straight down.
Yelena's eyes widened more and quickly turned around and dropped down next to you steadily.
She glanced over the side of the small ledge to glance at the fifty foot drop into the water. There was nothing in the way to fall onto but there was no telling how deep that water was.
"You can't go in like that." You laughed as you kicked off your shorts and pushed them to the side. Yelena's face heated up at the sight of you in your y/f/c bikini as you assessed the view. But even in her flustered state she was able to put it all together.
"You want to jump down there?" She exclaimed making you laugh.
"I've done it tones of times." You assured. "It's fun."
"It's a death wish! What if the waters not deep enough?" She questioned making you laugh more.
"Are you scared, Lena." You teased as you took a step towards her making her avert her eyes from your form. She scoffed to play it off.
"Of course not." You hummed in faux belief.
"Well then I'll see you down there." You grinned and took a couple of steps back until your feet were no longer on the platform and you were plummeting down towards the water where you landed with a splash.
Yelena held her breath as she waited for you to resurface for a few agonising seconds. When you did with a gasp and started kicking around frantically to keep yourself afloat with your built up adrenaline the blonde sighed in relief and started taking off her own shorts and shirt and placed them next to your things.
You've jumped from higher. She told herself as she rocked on her feet. With a harness! She argued back before she shoved those thoughts aside and threw herself off the ledge and into the water below.
You laughed as she came back up and pushed her hair away from her way. You swam closer to her and saw her wide smile.
"Fuck." Yelena whispered with a laugh as she looked back up from where you had both come.
"Told you it was fun." You teased as you tried not to focus on the low cut on her bikini bra.
"Yeah yeah." She laughed and adulterer when she looked past you and saw you were surprisingly close to the house. She could see the outline of your family sat outside.
"They're looking." Yelena muttered. You could tell by the look on her face who she was talking about. It wasn't like there was anyone else around either.
"Do you think they've caught on?" You asked nervously as you stared at Yelena's grey eyes to stop you looking at your family.
"Maybe..." She considered and glanced around. "It's not like we've been acting like that much of a couple." You scoffed at that.
"At home everyone assumes we're dating and the one time we need it be believable it isn't." You rolled your eyes but couldn't help the smile.
"I know." Yelena laughed for a second but then paused. "Then let's give them something believable." She gently placed both her hands on your waist and pulled you slowly towards her. You let her guide you and took extra notice of the water droplets across her face. You almost trembled when your bare stomachs pressed together in the water lightly.
Yelena's soft hands left your waist and gripped your thighs to pull you up to wrap your legs around her own waist. You couldn't help but giggle at the gesture as you wrapped your arms around the blonde's neck and held onto her waist with your legs in a lock.
"Can I?" Yelena whispered when she lifted your chin with her finger and her other hand came round the back of your neck.
"Just shut up and kiss me." You demanded with a playful smile and leaned in to do it yourself.
You smiled into the kiss and felt Yelena do the same. It was everything you had ever imagined it to be. Her lips were soft and fell into place perfectly against your own as they moved together.
You mind was hazey and your stomach was doing flips at the realisation that you were actually kissing your long time crush. You forced yourself to remember that it was all a show. That Yelena didn't mean it. But she put on a believable act and kissed passionately, even slipping her tongue through your parter lips to explore your mouth further.
When she eventually pulled away you rested your foreheads together to catch your breath and grinned as you closed your eyes.
"You're a really good kisser." You blurted out making Yelena chuckle.
"Not too bad yourself." She teased.
"I hope not, we're gonna have to do that again." You smiled and instantly realized that sounded like a confession you desperetly wished you could claim. "You know because...Once probably wasn't enough to make it entirely believable." You rambled and Yelena nodded somewhat stiffly and let your legs drop back down.
You wanted to say something to her, anything but it was all stuck on the tip of your tongue.
Just as you opened your mouth to speak, a small murmurarion of starlings flew across the lake, some of them skimming the water then gaining height again as they got closer to you and Yelena.
You didn't realise Yelena mimicked you until her hands brushed against yours.
Yelena spotted and reached the towels before you and wrapped yours around you tightly. You thanked her with a small blush as you both sauntered up to the house where the mouthwatering smell of a barbecue greeted you. Your dad was leaning over it while shooing your brother away as he tried to offer his 'help'.
You and Yelena went inside to change swiftly and came back outside as the food was being placed on plates and your mum finished setting up the buffet.
Everyone starter helping themselves and you piled as much food as you could onto the plate. You parents had asked what food Yelena liked and when you gave them a brief list you added in a few things you knew you both loved.
"You gonna eat all that?" Anna asked as she eyed all the food on your plate. Guilt and insecurities washed over you until Yelena purposefully grabbed a large handful of small sausage rolls and put them on her plate that was piled with a considerable amount more food than your own. You smiled at the reassuring gesture as she sat down with a satisfied grin on her face when she saw Anna close her mouth to stay quiet.
"Thanks." You whispered to her as you sat down.
"If you don't eat all that I will." She declared. You were pretty sure she went back for seconds.
Instead of disappearing back to your room like you did the previous nights, you and Yelena stayed with your family for a while after dinner. It wasn't to do with their company, more the mesmerising fire in the firepit you all sat around. You were cuddled up into Yelena's side with a blanket over both of you as you stared at the flames, smiling at their small flickers and dances.
"So Yelena," one of your sisters began, "are any of the other Avengers...you know." She nodded her head in the direction of you both.Oh boy, you though.
"I don't think it's my place to say." Yelena said because yes, a lot of the Avengers were queer.
"Oh come on, you can tell us." Anna encouraged as she sat forward eagerly.
"I could, but I'm not going to." Yelena continued to defy.
"Lay off it guys." You mumbled but was ignored. Your family took it in turns saying her teammates names in hopes of sparking a reaction, clearly forgetting they were facing a spy.
"Stark!" Claire said but was instantly shut down by the others.
"He's married!" Dalton objected.
"Could still be bi though." Claire tried but  Dalton just scoffed.
"I suppose there's going to be more surprises."
"What does that mean?" Yelena asked with narrowed eyes. Dalton met her gaze with his own challenging one.
"I just never thought one of the Avengers would be a dyke." You felt Yelena stiffen as you all held your breath. There was no way to tell what was going through the blonde's mind, especially as after all those years of friendship you still didn't even know what team she batted for.
"Then you're idiots." Yelena stated as she glared daggers at your brother while you sunk down.
That the blonde was making her point.
How much of what Yelena said was true? It was all based off of something that wasn't real. What if she saw you the same way your family did?
When you stopped crying you became aware of Yelena gently stroking your hair as she rested her head on yours and held you close to her. You remembered the memories you had accumulated over the past few days with her. The kisses, the hand holding, the nights together, how she stood up for you like no one ever had. You loved her so much.
"I think we should go tomorrow." Yelena mumbled and you nodded into her shoulder.
"I just want you too, y/n." You pulled away from the blonde to look at her clearly.
"I don't think you know what I mean." You sniffer and she smiled at you fondly.
"I mean what I said earlier, around the fire." Your eyes widened slightly and you held your breath.
"It was all an act though." You whispered and Yelena chuckled as she exhaled sharply.
You let go of Yelena's hand and brought them both up to cup her cheeks. You had done a lot more handholding than kissing in the previous few days. It needed to be evened out.
You closed the gap between you and kissed Yelena with just as much passion as you had in the lake, except all hesitation and questions were gone.

♡ Fluffy fluff - 1k words yo I cranked these out in on weekend I hope yall like these
Tumblr media
"So really no one wants to go Christmas shopping with me?" You huff staring down your roommates. Kirishima and Sero avoid your gaze before Kaminari speaks up.
"I'll go with you but we gotta have breakfast at Tiffany's." He says, earning him a blank faced stare.
"Okay, I do have to go to Tiffany's for Momo but you do realize that they don't serve breakfast there right? That was just a movie title." He looks up from his phone with a dejected look.
"They don't?" His voice comes out with a bit of disappointment causing you to sigh and pinch the bridge of your nose. You had known Denki since your highschool days and although you knew he wasn't necessarily the brightest bulb in the box it was still hard to see those golden puppy dog eyes.
"You know what, I'll find a way to make breakfast happen. Just don't get up too late."
And that's exactly how you found yourselves with two cups of hot coffee and a brown paper bag on a bench outside the bright teal building. Denki dancing in his seat as he devoured one of his breakfast sandwiches. You blew air through your nose while trying to lightly shake the smile from your lips. His joy in the simple things making your efforts worth it and honestly made your own sandwich taste better. The two of you ate while watching throngs of people come and go, people watching at its finest. The two of you taking turns to guess a person's shopping mission or relationship status just by looking at them.
"Bet they are a couple." Debki says pointing towards a man and a woman sharing a laugh. You shake your head no swallowing your mouthful, your quirk tingling beneath your skin as you suppress it.
"Nah, He's closing the space between them but she isn't. He's interested in her but she either isn't and is being polite or is clueless." You shrug sipping at your coffee, Denki looks at the couple for a moment and tries to see what your profiling eye was trained to see. Then he looks at you and smirks, thinking it would be obvious to any woman when a man was interested in him.
But as he often learned in life, things were never that simple.
"Huh. Guess she's clueless then." He chuckles before nudging you to stand, "Let's get started on your list. Am I on there?"
He peers past long ashes trying to steal a look at the piece of paper in your hands that had a list of names and ideas on what to get them.
"Hey!" You bring the list to your chest while playfully pushing him.
The two of you share a laugh.
Then Denki holds open the door for you at Tiffany's, always the gentleman and a habit you noticed he picked up from Kirishima. He follows you through the store while you peruse before finding the perfect charm for her bracelet. A little teacup with a miniature intricate design, more than happy to pay the hefty price for your friends with the bonus from your agency.
You present the little charm to Kaminari who nods with approval.
As the day wanes on the crowds become thicker causing Denki to stick closer to you to keep wandering hands away. He presses his hand gently to the small of your back guiding you with long fingers as you're absorbed in your list, checking off names with an old pen.
"Almost done!" You announce to him while he gives you a lopsided smile, "Seriously thank you for coming."
"Yea it's no problem. It's been fun." His eyes soften causing your breath to hitch in your chest, "Sooo what are you getting me?"
You rolls your eyes, keeping the list shielded before glancing down at it. You had a lot of options for him which was making it hard for you to pick something. You were elated last night when he agreed that he would come hoping his wonderfully goofy self would blurt out things he really liked. Instead he spent most of this trip agreeing with you how perfect your gift ideas were.
"Oh I forgot to tell you, I'm buying your lunch today so where did you wanna-" Before you have the chance to finish he laces his fingers in yours pulling you towards the restaurant of his choice even shouting out the name of it as he strings you along.
You laugh aloud at the irony that food would be such a motivator and jokingly say
"I guess I should return my gift for you and take you on a dinner date instead."
His laugh echoes around you as people part their way, watching two young people enjoying the season.
As the sun does in winter it sets far too early as the two of you leave the restaurant happy and full. Deciding it best to walk home before the temperature dropped anymore. Denki walked alongside you with his hands in the pockets of his jacket as he relives the zing of his food and the richness of the day. His bright smile catches your eye and becomes contagious. Suddenly you're smiling dumbly at the concrete sidewalk, happy with your finds and how the day turned out.
Before you can express yourself the overcast sky bursts with freezing rain, causing you both to seek shelter. The electric blonde lifts his jacket over his head and spreads his arms in such a way it turns into a makeshift umbrella. He closes the gap between the two of you to shield you from the icy rain. The smell of a summer rainstorm wafts from his jacket and if you closed your eyes you were sure you'd be able to hear the roar of thunder. Finally there is an awning big enough for the both of you to squeeze under as the sky drops icy buckets to the ground. Both of you soaked and shocked  share a look before bursting into tear inducing laughter.
Laughter always came easiest around Denki. Both of you collect yourselves wiping at your cheeks while Denki runs a broad hand through his wet hair. You stare at him a moment, swallowing thickly before his goofy smile turns into a cocky smirk.
"I'm hoping that you're clueless." He states causing you to scrunch your face in question.
"What do you mean?" You ask as he leans closer. The Christmas lights from the closed shop cause his already captivating eyes to become electric and hypnotic.
"I mean I've been closing the distance between us all day, months even." His nose touches yours as he tilts your chin, "So are you clueless or being polite."
You swallow thickly as his words ring true, he had grabbed your hand first, placed his hand on your lower back to guide you through the crowd and even shielded you as best he could from the hailstorm above. Silence floats between you two as the rain pounds into the pavement slipping between your thoughts. Suddenly your throat constricts as you try to force the words from your tongue.
"I'm clueless." You rasp, causing relief to wash over Denki's handsome features. With his prayers answered he captures your lips with his bringing you from the land of ignorance. He pulls away for just a moment speaking softly before kissing you again.
"It was nice not being the clueless one for once."

100 ways to say I love you - TimKon edition:
Number 43: “I picked these for you.”
Enjoy! :D
Kon bops his head along to the music playing in his earphones, completely absorbed in his own world as he browses the shelves of different isles in the store. It’s his turn to do the snack run for the team’s fortnightly movie night. What usually happens is that everyone chips in some money then one person is selected to go out and make the run to the store while the others set everything else up. This time it happens to be Kon.
In all honestly he doesn’t mind doing it. Going to the store means he has control on what snacks he gets for the team and in what quantities. He travels through the shop slowly adding items that appeal to him into the basket he’s carrying as he goes.
He grabs a variety of things, making sure there’s enough for everyone to have something of each thing. Crisps, dips, chocolate, sweets, ice cream, biscuits and even bottles of drink. Whatever doesn’t get eaten can be used another day unless Bart decides to devour it all anyway.
When the basket is practically overflowing Kon decides that he has more than enough and goes to  the checkout to pay. The lady at the till gives him a curious look for all of the food he’s buying but doesn’t comment on it, in response Kon gives her a tight smile and awkwardly packs away everything into a few different plastic bags.
When everything is paid for he heads out of the shop and makes his way back to the Tower. It doesn’t take him long and once he’s there he makes his way to the media room where his friends are now all set up for the night.
The main lights are off, making the only light in the room coming from the TV which is showing a movie title screen. Across two sofas are a variety of blankets and pillows and finally the coffee table between them has many bowls and cups awaiting to be filled with the snacks Kon’s just brought.
His friends are currently sprawled out on the two sofas. Bart and Cassie on one and Tim on the other. Kon isn’t surprised to find it like this, after all this is their usual set up, he and Tim would cuddle together on one while the other two bicker about having their own space on the other sofa. Occasionally they would change it up, or even at times all piles onto one sofa, that only happens after rough times though.
Kon walks into the room and places two of the three bags he’s got down on the coffee table. Instantly the three of them lunge towards the bags and start rummaging through the contents. They grab different snacks and empty them into different bowls and set aside other bags for later.
Amidst the sorting out Cassie cheers when she pulls out a bag of Twizzlers which Kon had especially picked up for her. She chucks them behind her to her space on the couch and carries on rummaging through the bags. Not long after that Bart voices his excitement when he pulls out a couple bags of Doritos.
Kon smirks to himself as he watches Tim look more closely at the rest of the contents, clearly looking for something. He has to bite his lips to keep himself from laughing out loud when a look of disappointment crosses his boyfriend’s face when he doesn’t find what he clearly wants.
For the moment Kon ignores it, he moves over to his and Tim’s sofa and sits down glances at the others. “So what are we watching first?”
“We are watching Ace Ventura.”
Kon hums in thought. He doesn’t think he’s seen this one, so at least it’s something different for a change. He keeps his focus on Cassie and questions her about the film, simply asking for a basic outline so he gets some idea on what it’s about.
As Cassie roughly describes the plot to him Kon could feel eyes on him and he stops himself from reacting to it. Teasing Tim is too much fun sometimes. Once she’s finished talking Kon finally turns to Tim and acknowledges him. “You okay Tim?” He continues to act oblivious much to Tim’s disappointment.
Tim pouts at him, even going as far as to stick his bottom lip out for extra effect, and proceeds to stare at him with a puppy dog look without saying anything. Tim doesn’t drop the look for some time and eventually Kon gives in with a roll of his eyes. He’s never been able to withstand that look. Kon reaches for the third plastic bag he had brought back with him, which he hid behind his legs when he sat down, and grabs Tim’s favoured snack.
“Don’t worry, I picked these for you,” Kon says laughing as he presents to Tim a large bag of marshmallows, “I promise I didn’t forget.”
The pout on Tim’s face instantly disappears and is replaced with a gleeful smile. His boyfriend reaches out and grabs the bag before leaning over to place a kiss onto Kon’s lips. “Thank you.”
Amused, Kon snorts. “Anyone would think you’re a spoilt brat with the way you acted after not immediately finding what you wanted.” He means it as a joke of course, if anything Tim is one of the most selfless people he’s ever met.
Tim raises an eyebrow and smirks. “Well I am rich. Why wouldn’t I get what I want?”
Kon opens his mouth to respond but he’s stopped short by Tim’s lips pressing against his own. They kiss slowly but deeply for several moments, long enough for Kon to forget where they even are before Tim is pulling away again.
He sends Kon a soft appreciative smile. “Seriously, thanks though. I’ve been craving marshmallows all week. These will do nicely!”
“You always crave marshmallows. I honestly don’t understand why you like them so much.”
“Because I do, that’s why. I don’t judge your food choices so don’t judge mine.”
“Um excuse me? You always judge what I eat! Just last week you made a comment about my burger when we went out for lunch.”
“Yes I did because no one puts that kind of sauce on a burger! It’s weird and is virtually disgusting.”
“Don’t knock it until you try it Tim. You never know what kinds of flavours go together.”
The two of them are brought out of their bickering by Cassie clearing her throat and getting their attention. “If you two are quite done, we have a film to watch.”
They each send her sheepish smile and Kon waves for her to start the film. From next to her Bart snickers, his hand already buried deep in one of the bags of Doritos. “They bicker like an old married couple.”
Cassie rolls her eyes as she settles into the back of the couch, wrapping a blanket around herself. “That’s because they already are.”
“We’re not that bad.” Tim defends weakly, also slouching into the corner of the sofa to get comfy. Kon makes a face, not fully agreeing with Tim’s comment but otherwise stays silent.
“I beg to differ.” Cassie retorts with a roll of her eyes and Kon knows there’s no heat behind the action.
Shaking his head, Kon dismisses the whole thing. He turns his focus onto the TV as the film finally begins to play. He shifts over on the sofa so he’s tucked up against Tim and takes his boyfriend into his arms and together they settle in a cuddling position. That’s how they stay for the rest of the evening as different films are put on, as the snacks all get devoured and as the evening turns into night.
