Bruce lay on the bed with Batman-themed bedsheets, his head resting on the bat-shaped pillow, surrounded by all kinds of Batman merchandise. He stared at a large life-sized poster of Batman above him on the ceiling, currently questioning his own life choices. It seemed a little strange to be hooking up with someone while having his own secret identity glare accusingly at him, but he supposed that there were weirder kinks out there.

The door creaked open and Clark stepped into the room, wiping away the excess water dripping from his freshly washed hair. Bruce sat up on the bed.

“Umm, I hope you don’t mind all my…stuff. As you can probably tell, I’m a huge fan of the hero.”

Bruce smirked flirtatiously at him. “I find it cute actually. How about we pretend that I’m Batman tonight? You can be the big bad villain that I’m apprehending.”

Clark looked sheepish. “I don’t think I’d make a convincing villain. Can I be another superhero? Maybe…Superman?”

Bruce’s smile faltered. Shit, he didn’t think the reporter would want to roleplay as the man whom he actually had feelings for. In the dim lighting of the apartment, the man even had a similar build as his superhero partner and could pass off as him. But this would only be a one-time thing right? Superman would never need to know. Bruce could write this off as temporary insanity caused by his own sleep deprivation.

“Well,” Bruce dropped his voice to a lower register, watching Clark shiver at the sound of his voice and standing up straighter. “Why did you call me here Superman? This better be good.”

Clark slowly approached the bed. Even the careful way he moved, like he was somewhat afraid of scaring him away if he moved too fast, was reminiscent of Superman.

“I don’t truly know why myself,” Clark answered. The look in his eyes was so earnest and hopeful that it hurts. He looked at him as though Bruce was really the Batman that he admired. He was, but Clark did not know that.

Clark took Bruce’s hand in his, and Bruce nearly flinched at the affectionate gesture. “But…I’m really glad you’re here with me tonight Batman.”

Caught up with the 9-1-1 finale after watching some live-blogging on tumblr and I feel like some things should be addressed.

I saw some comments about how having Latinos being Cartel members was racist because it reinforces stereotypes. 9-1-1 also has Eddie and his family, who have been main/side characters for multiple seasons, who are positive complex characters, whereas the Cartel was like 1.5 episodes. Complex, wide ranging representation is important and in this instance I think the 6 seasons of Eddie and family far outweighs the 30-60 min of Cartel.

"Gerrard was like the father I had" "I wasn't close to my father" are SUPER IMPORTANT LINES FOR TOMMY. It shows that he grew up in a household that wouldn't/doesn't accept his sexuality, that his past behavior is predicated on existing in various forms of Gerrard's toxic environment his whole life. That is until the Winds of Change in the form of Chimney and Hen started to blow in.

Imho, Tommy wasn't nullifying Buck's trauma by making the daddy joke. Putting aside the argument that Queer people shouldn't have to be sanitized to be represented on TV, Tommy could have just read the room and thought Evan needed a little break from the EMOTIONAL DAMAGE his whole day had been consisting of. I mean if I went on the emotional rollercoaster that Buck did in one day, you better bet I would appreciate my super hot pilot boyfriend making some jokes and giving me some space to just breath.

Honestly, the whole live blogging experience on Tumblr was really disappointing. I won't be doing that again. Instead I'll just watch the show by myself, analyze it by my nerdy-self and then come here to post and hope some fellow nerds like it. Somehow I spent 30+ years of my life in positive fan culture land and I really wish I never ventured out of it.

Okay so here's my thing: I figured I would hop right into part 2 of my babby Tim fic after finishing part 1, and then a really fucked up Tim/Ra's idea jumped into my head and got me by the throat, and now I have mood whiplash from my own brain/writing?!

Also, a scene from my truly stupid, self-indulgent "Jason and Tim accidentally become bros immediately" fic sprung into my sleepy mind and then poured itself out of my fingers fully formed into a Google Doc.

So. I may be writing multiple longfics at the same time. Wish me luck?!

ㅤ*ㅤ⸺ a huge reason why i love the rpc as much as i do is because all of you put so much damn passion into these characters. watching HH on its own was a good experience, but had i not joined this community, i would've never seen the characters in the light that i do now.

i see vox and i think of the intricacies that opal wrote into his character, the life he used to live, the moral greyness of his personality and the meanings behind his actions. i see alastor and i think of the relationship ivory wrote between him and his mother, or i think of his complicated feelings towards human connection, as written by jack.

i see adam and i see an incredibly complicated character dealing with grief and loss in the worst possible way, because mid wrote him like that. i see lucifer and i see a fully fleshed out man, lingering with regrets, because that's how michelle/luci wrote him. zestial and carmilla were just background characters to me prior to this community, and now they're fully fleshed out characters in the back of my mind.

that is genuinely so cool to me. all of you put so much passion into these characters, and everything you write just feels canon to me now.
